Tagged by @thehappybaker 6 times, @winterinhimring 4 times, @musewrangler 2 times, and @catkin-morgs-kookaburralover 1 time for the WIP tag game.
Rules: If you are tagged, you have to work on your WIP until you write a sentence that contains at least one word from the sentence given to you by the person who tagged you. Then post that sentence and tag as many people as you want. Tag-backs are not only allowed, but encouraged! >:)
Additionally I was tagged for the Last sentence tag game, by @thehappybaker 5 times, @afaroffsong 2 times, @winterinhimring 2 times and @called-kept 1 time.
RULES: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfic / original / anything) and tag as many people as there are words in the sentence.
So what I did two days ago was copy and paste every sentence that I had to choose a word from for the WIP tag game into a note, and set to writing. I wrote 216 words, found a word for each sentence I was tagged from, and got unstuck at the same time. Here’s my progress in one chunk, rather than a whole bunch of disconnected snippets, which I think gives enough unused sentences to make up the ones for the Last sentence tag game. And okay, because this seems more impressive/interesting (maybe) when it’s posted as a whole.
The more she observed him, the more his shyness seemed an unnatural thing to him.
Lachlan had been deemed just old enough to be careful and take his meal in with his Da, though not of course to take in the tray. Erran had volunteered for that, and so when they finished at the table and while the dishes were being cleared away, Erran also retrieved the tray and brought it to her.
“[name] says to say it was delicious. Lachlan seconds that.”
“Thank you,” she said. She was surprised he’d thought of retrieving it for her and didn’t care if he knew it. She’d thought he would be on his way back out with Alastair and Tann…but no, they were helping the girls clean the table.
“Thank you again for the meal,” he returned with a crooked smile. “My cooking doesn’t turn out nearly so well, and,” he lowered his voice just a little, “Wynn’s is better than mine, but he doesn’t have your knack either, so it’s not just a matter of experience.”
“Some of it is, I’m sure,” she said. “You do enough of it every day for growing children and it begins to come easier to you. How long have you cooked for yourself?”
He thought for a moment before answering. “It’s been a few years since I was doing all of it. A friend of mine stayed with me for a bit when I first moved near here. He was somewhere between you and Wynn in skill, and took more than his share of the turn cooking. He certainly enjoyed it more than I did.”
He sounded a little wistful as he spoke.
Used words:
back, and, she, was, they, smile from @thehappybaker
but, experience from @musewrangler
she from @catkin-morgs-kookaburralover
He’d, his, she’d, he from @winterinhimring
You wascally wabbits are all tagged back, once for each tag game, but that’s all I’m up for.

RE: cultural appropriation primarily being about an economic state of affairs where white people make money off of other people, a related idea I've been contemplating but haven't been able to like. Finish writing about is the idea of cultural decontextualization, which is when a cultural majority (often but not always white people) engage with another culture in a manner that erases- and may simultaneously replicate- racist histories, and is more about creating false narratives than economics.
A personal example would be white people making clothes based off of Coptic Egyptian artifacts, especially while generically referring to them as "Roman" or arguing Coptic art does not exist, which denies Copts part of Coptic history while resurrecting the French Coptomania of the 1920s, and specifically Albert Gayet's actions of taking items from Coptic graves to the point where a model was dressed in a tunic and shown off (which is also terrible from an artifact preservation perspective- this tunic would've been at minimum, 1300 years old at the time).

Anyone else ever wake up in a cold sweat at 2 am with an image in their mind they HAVE to get out or they will never know peace? Just me? Cool.
Anyways, I think the story here is that the DA's office is trying to make a case against SILK who is suspected of human testing but is having trouble getting the evidence they need to close the case. District Attorney Nelson makes a deal with his old roommate Matt Murdock who seems to have an in with several SILK employees, but Murdock insists they pretend to be married for the duration of the case. He even shows up one day with a young (orphaned) girl to play the part of their daughter. What neither Foggy nor Matt knows is that little Gwen is actually an escaped SILK test subject with uncanny abilities of her own.

| This is probably the proudest ref I've ever fucking drawn tbh... I had to re-draw this lovely gal cuz her current re-design was a little off to me, and drawing her bust was absolutely fun so yeah that's happening... Anyways this is Amélie, or "Beaut" which is her celebrity name cuz she is in fact, a celebrity..
Also this would've been at least a month or two since I finished this when I do the mass post some time later.. So even though I'm proud of this now, wonder if that'll hold up til a couple months later when I get to the post spam..
Anyways- Amélie is another one of those old OCs of mine who's gone through massive changes, especially from when she was a fan character of another fandom I was semi into a few years ago... This is her now and honest to god, she's absolutely beautiful and I swear if anybody dares gives this post shit. I will massacre everyone and laugh while I do.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
INFO
Name: Amélie
Species: Zarean
General Personality: Funny, outgoing, supportive, forgetful, self conscious, posh, vocally talented
Height: 15ft
Relationship Status: Single
Extra Info:
"Beaut the Beautiful" is her stage name she randomly made on a whim in a sudden panic for a 'label' one day, it's kind of just stuck with her since
She is known for a variety of skills and talents within the species; Singing, dancing, acting mainly in pantomimes, fashion model, online influencer, all sorts. And despite seemingly extroverted and overall social, she actually deals with a lot of social anxiety; So she has to do all sorts of breathing and mental exercises just to get out there
She came out trans to her family roughly when she was in her teens, although her family had somewhat mixed reactions, in the end they supported her and her goals. She was officially "herself" when she got famous
Growing up she starred and took part in many things; Talent shows, school plays, all kinds of after school activities and clubs along with other events and such town. So she really has quite the experience in a lot of fields, she worked hard to where she wanted to be
She actually worked retail and working part time in a library while she was juggling career driven events and such
She stylizes, sometimes even crafts her own outfits, wigs and occasionally even the events she hosts in like concerts and such. She also has a personal assistant who is totally not her best friend she met in college
She never acknowledges her dead name or anything with the only exception being her grandmother before she passed (Emile was her grandfather's name)
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
And that's it for her again, re-doing her ref was a good idea tbh because I'm really happy with how I drew Beaut here, definitely catches her type of likliness better than the previous "re-designs" I did of hers on separate occasions throughout the years I've been drawing and re-designing all my OCs... Would hope I keep at it for a long time but I feel that somehow isn't going to work forever.. I genuinely thought at one point that I'd get all my OCs fully re-done, sorted and all along with their worlds and whatnot then I can work with what I got there..
But I've noticed now that the whole of the Zarean species specifically, which I was working on off and on for like 9 or so years now, has to now be re-done completely cuz the lore was kinda all over the place without reasoning and that it just felt.. Wrong..
So yeah... I'll probably be dead by the time I actually finish any of this, I probably won't have started by the time I end up on my death bed tbh..
Especially when loads of my OCs haven't really been touched since like... Before I completely ditched DA a couple years ago.......... Oh well....-
. Amélie, Art © Me . DON’T RE-POST .

I don't play R1999 enough anymore to feel very confident in making a whole OC but I've had the idea of an arcanist who creates things via pencil sketches and they ended up joining manus because they had decades worth of work destroyed and they're very upset :3c
They lived in the american south and there was a hurricane and when they were trying to save their works some people pretended to help them but used it as an opportunity to actually just send the sketchbooks into the flood waters (they sketch out the image then kinda of 'pull it' off the paper into the real world) they liked to draw and make creatures and had previously used said monsters/creatures as 'weapons' and were deemed too dangerous
(people can be crazy nonchalant about hurricanes so them just taking this opportunity despite the fact there's a natural disaster while irrational feels very plausible)
I'VE HAD THIS IN MY BRAIN SO LONG THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE OPPURTUNITY TO SHARE IT AHH SJDIFO, i feel cringe but I am free
Oh, the classic artist whose art comes to life, love that power so much it gives me so much nostalgia! tysm for sharing, it was a fun read! get that Manus Vindictae slay <3
sorry I don't have much to say lolol, I'm only good at discussing stuff at length for OCs when I'm trying to brainstorm ways for my OCs to interact with others and stuff
