Karaoke Headcanons

Lucifer

Believe it or not, Lucifer actually enjoys doing karaoke, especially with his brothers. Not that he would ever admit it, though.

It will take a lot of convincing to get him to do it since he has an image to maintain.

He will never laugh at the person singing no matter how bad they might sound.

Lucifer actually becomes irritated when people laugh at someone's singing abilities. It's fine if someone is purposefully trying to sound bad. But if someone is genuinely trying their best, he will shoot whoever is laughing a nasty glare

Lucifer will most likely sing songs by either Kiss, Queen or Ghost.

Depending on the situation, the songs Lucifer sings might change. Let's say he, for instance, was alone with MC

If someone is scared of singing, Mammon will offer to sing with them so they don't have to do it alone.

Mammon doesn't stick to a particular genre of songs. He does like upbeat songs but is not against singing a slow ballad.

Sometimes, he let his brothers pick what song to sing to mix things up.

Leviathan prefers to have at least 4 or 5 people sing before it's his turn. He needs tge time to prepare himself.

Once he has sung a song or 2, he will become confident, and you will have to force the mic out of his hands.

Anime songs, game fan songs and vocaloid need I say more.

today we have,,,,

A SONG THAT I THINK FITS DEMOMAN!!!!!!

tw heavy mentioning of over drinking n stuff bc thats what the song is abt

ok so the song is Drunk my The Living Tombstone

Whats the song about? It's about a man who walks into a bar to drink with his friends, but he begins to drink more and more and it becomes more unhealthy and he ends up overdrinking and having an addiction to drinking and not being able to stop.

Does that sound familiar? I know it does!

Reminds me of Demoman if you ask me!

Lets start with the instrument of the song... The instrument is funky , upbeat, and chaotic-like, giving me Demoman vibes! It just fits Demoman's personality and who he is in general, a chaotic lil guy!

Now lets go to the lyrics...Ohh boyy...What do I start with..

"Just four drinks, y'know, take the edge off I've had a hard week, I deserve to get sauced!"

Demoman works 3 jobs and doesn't want to get more but his mom would contantly be the little bitch she is and yelling at him to get more just because his dad did, even if he gets lot of money a year... He works so hard and has hard weeks 100% (He needs a long break dude,,,)

"Feel so much better than usual I feel indisputable!"

This and other lines in the lyrics about alcohol addiction just feels like Demoman's situation, one of the reasons (and probably main) is because alcohol helps him with his missing eye, replacing it for him kinda. So I would say that would quite fit in that as well.

"Was I just feeling bored? Am I that insecure?"

This reminds me of Demoman's insecurity about his missing eye, the poor dude even cried when he visitted eye museum with soldier in WAR! comic panel

"I'm gonna hate myself tomorrow then I'll do it again."

Despite Demoman drinking too much (and definetely gets hangovers lot) he would still do it again even if it's affecting him badly to the point his body even started making alcohol, yikes...

I dont know how to explain the rest of the song but the whole song fits Demoman in general. From instrument to lyrics... (Please put this song in y'all's demoman playlist I'm begging you /nf /lh)

Alt Timeline 2.0 - Darrell x Odile Part 4

Warnings: MINORS DNI! Main characters are slasher ocs! Dead body mention and cannibalism

It had been two weeks since Darrell set up the bell traps, and still he had no luck. He had overestimated his own intelligence, invested too much time camping out between tombstones and lying in wait for someone with intentions of stealing bodies.

Ilya had made sure to rub it in his face. "No luck?" he inquired everytime he passed by.

Darrell did his best to ignore him. Ilya just seemed like the type of person to want the worst for others, and it gave him great joy to see Darrell frustrated.

There wasn't much to distract him while he waited. He refrained from using his portable stereo. As dull as graveyard noise was, he had to keep his ears peeled.

But his thoughts often wandered back to the broken down manor house; To the night he had felt a weight on his stomach and a ticklish sensation on his ribs. He conjured up her face again, the way he had a hundred times before.

He had never felt so comforted, had never felt such a warm flutter in his heart. He'd cursed the room for being so dark. He wished he had seen more of her, more of the love drunk expression that had made her soft features glow.

She was startled when he stirred, and he was so happy that she had calmed down when he soothed her. The night she lay sleeping in his embrace was by far the calmest night he passed. It was part of what little precious memory he now had, and he had begged God to let it stick. For sanity's sake.

He'd seen only beauty like hers on a grainy television screen, borrowed by a princess. Princess Aurora; Briar Rose - stepping blithely through a clearing.

How did that song go?

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream…

Each time he saw her felt like a dream, but it was all quite real. He was sure. It was a hard, bloody truth and it bit.

Where had she come from? Why did she do it? What was her name? These and a thousand more questions went through his mind, but the answers, like the girl, proved ever elusive.

He heaved an exasperated sigh and gathered his belongings.

"Come on, girl." Isabelle stood in attention. "Let's go home."

Fog had crept down from the distant hills, stretching over the cemetery like a thousand miserly fingers to count tombstones like coins. It was so thick that Darrell could barely see more than four feet ahead at all sides.

Isabelle froze. She wheeled around and stopped. Her ears pricked up and twisted forward like funny little dishes trying to catch a signal. Heart racing in excitement, Darrell listened hard. His breath rose up in puffs of vapor.

The tinkling of the bells was faint but unmistakable.

Isabelle and Darrell broke into a sprint in pursuit of the sound, like racehorses bursting out of the gate.

Odile was so hungry.

She'd forced herself to stay in the forest, living on nuts and berries. She'd even braved bee stings to have a mouthful of honey. But It was never enough to keep her full.

Her hunger grew claws and hurt her.

There was only one thing she could do.

"I can't," she told herself, trembling at the thought. "It's not safe."

She'd watched the graveyard keeper. He was looking for her. Every hour that passed without her turning up made him incredibly sad.

She'd seriously considered revealing herself, just so she could glimpse his smile again. At night, she would take out his picture from her little box and hold it to her cheek as she lay in bed. Someday, she promised. Someday.

How, though, could that day come if she perished at the turn of the season? She had to eat.

Odile chose a newly covered grave at the very edge of the graveyard, just at the mouth of the forest. She broke the coffin with her shovel, sending splinters into the air. There was another sound - frantic tinkling - that she had never heard at a grave before.

Odile made quick work of the corpse, turning it over and over to find a place free from rot. There came the tinkling again. It seemed to come from the body itself and, panicking now, Odile clawed at the clothes to try and get rid of it.

When she heard Belle barking, her blood grew cold. They were coming.

She grabbed her shovel and drove the blade straight down, chopping a forearm clean off. She picked up her prize and took off, the cold air bruising her lungs.

Nimble bare feet bore her safely into the forest. She knew she had to go further in, but she was so hungry. Her limbs trembled and her footing grew shaky.

She clung to a low branch, which snapped as her taxed body finally gave in. Knowing how her life depended on it, Odile sank her teeth into the purple-gray flesh.

He stumbled upon her that way: On her knees, hunched over, and smeared with gore.

He said nothing as he stared, the rifle still in his hands. Odile felt the sour tang climbing up her throat - horror making her gag.

Belle came trotting up to her, licking her cheeks excitedly, but she sat as still as stone. Her eyes were locked with the graveyard keeper's, trying to read his expression.

Oh, God. Oh, God, he hates me!

He held up his hand to pacify her, the other slowly set down his rifle. "It's okay," he told her.

Odile's lip trembled.

"Shhh… it's okay," said the graveyard keeper. She had begun to sob and he scooped her into a comforting hug.

She had wanted him to see her, but not like this.

She broke down, her shoulders rattling against his as she drew convulsive gasps.

"No, no… please, don't cry. It's okay."

Odile stubbornly shook her head. It was not okay! She'd ruined everything.

She pushed him away. He landed on his bottom with a surprised oof! She ignored his pleas for her to stay, and he watched her disappear into the wilderness beyond.

The night is, by and large, a blur.

A Miqo'te is who she is speaking to first, when she starts drinking. Charming, very beautiful. Bit of a temper. Before long, the Miqo'te is escorted away by a Viera, and Khusel is finishing her drink alone.

A rather pretty Xaela woman happens by next - pale skin, striking lips. She seems to want to ply Khusel with drinks. Two - or was it three? - and some strange questions. Before long, her curiosity is sated, and she leaves too.

Next, a tall auri man, cutting a very imposing figure, happens by. He buys her a drink, too. They have some fun for a while, and then he retires to slumber, leaving her with her drink - or was it a new one?

Nursing the cheap ale, a familiar and very short Miqo'te happens by. It takes Khusel nearly a minute to recognise that it is not the same woman with whom she started the night. She chats for a time, very kind, and when she leaves, the Xaela has a fresh drink clutched in her fingers.

Standing up to leave, the world tilts and spins sickeningly. Taking two steps towards the door has her tail upending the table.

Collapsing out the front door, she nearly lands on a familiar Raen - but no matter how much she tries, she cannot remember the name.

Words from the woman trapped beneath her reach her horns, but Khusel cannot hear them. Her eyelids feel like they're tied to lead weights and so she lets them fall - before falling herself into slumber.

What is everyone's favorite songs?

(All of these are based on assumptions, take with a grain of salt. Or many grains.)

Hate's favorite song often fluctuates, though recently he's been listening to Drunk by The Living Tombstone and fantasizing about his character Maxwell an awful lot recently. Though he's also been obsessed over Amnesia Was Her Name by Lemon Demon, Alien Blues by Vundabar and Oops! by Yung Gravy

So basically it goes Drunk, then a three way tie between the others.

For me, William, I really like Charlie's Inferno by That Handsome Devil. Very reliable as someone who's actually been to Hell.

Ford isn't much of a music person, however I noticed whenever he's fronting he tends to listen to anything by Pey the Musician.

Bill. Likes noise. Just noise.

Ivo and Silver like anything from Sonic the Hedgehog games, liking their theme songs especially more so. Don't ask me to say the names of the songs, because I genuinely don't give enough of a shit to remember.

Hassan, I'm actually not too sure about him, he seems to only ever front when I'm not around.

Discord I'm also not sure about, though if I were to guess, I'd guess any of the song he sings in his source. (The glass of water song is constantly repeating in our head when he's around, so I'm guessing that's probably his most favorite.)

Heartless is cringe, so he likes anything cringe. Because he's fucking cringe.

O hates anything that's sound.

Buggy likes anything that's sfw and not sad. The kids pretty easy to make happy.

And finally, Soren. Unfortunately I don't think I was existing back when he was actually active, so I have no fucking clue. I also have no guessing for this one, since I never met him.

ohohohohoho for the character opinion bingo… ticci toby, chase brody, and darkiplier

i am SO READY. TOBY

oh toby, how i love him. The original blorbo. He's my skrunkly scrimbolo, my right hand arm. man, my stress ball toy to violently squeeze and also a fork that i blow up in the microwave. constantly. he's got half a cardboard box full of mental illness as his cannon personality and i love him for it. To quote jelloapocolypse on his excellent video essay about why fred is the best scooby doo character, toby is nothing and therefore he can be everything. Want him to be a loveable, goofy scene kid who maybe does some murder in his spare time? sure, toby can do that! want him to be a dark, angsty teen haunted by his own actions and his unhealthy coping mechanisms? of course!! there's literally thousands of versions of toby out there, each one so different than the last and i love... well being honest here, most of them. but still a vast majority. much like many pasta characters, he was definitely done dirty by the fandom (because who wasn't back then) and i won't get into it too much but i'm glad people are writing him with a much more respectful and realistic representation of the illnesses that he has. in conclusion, i am holding him gently like hamburger pretty much 24/7.

CHASE

CHASE. OH CHASE. i didn't fill out too much of the bingo bc we're going to see more of him that we haven't yet but so far. oh sometimes i get so mentally ill about him. god this man deserves so much better. also there's so many good chase songs holy shit (btw the living tombstone drunk and mountain goats no children are both chase songs i don't make the rules) DARK

Dark is, i suppose, also an original blorbo? they've never quite reached blorbo status but they're pretty far up there on the character ladder. the more i think about them the more i wish we got more development with them as "the darkiplier" than just edgy intimidating bastard. like yeah i still love that but come on. in my heart dark is and will always be a besuited amalgamation being piloted by damien and celine trying to look intimidating. I feel like they'd work incredibly well with wilford even though we never see them onscreen together!!! (come on mark dark wilford dynamic WHEN) not really "wasted potential" but i feel like we should get a little more character depth from them. juuust a smidge. if i think about them for too long though they occasionally blow up.

It was a quieter night at the Tombstone, no open mic or live performances to fill the space, and only a few visitors surrounding the bar. He’d sent the other tenders home for the night, assuring them that if he needed coverage he’d let them know, but he could handle a quiet, comfortable Friday.

And it’d remain like most of those quiet nights, until a familiar, oversized form cleared the front door. “Ay, what’s up you big motherfucker?” He’s rewarded with a roll of eyes and after a second of realizing October’s out of the house which is strange, he spots that he’s not alone. “Oh shit, hey Percy!” He greets pleasantly. “What can I get for ya? It’s on the house, really, because the last time I got you liquor it was ‘on the witch’ and I owe you one.”

Hope this is okay!

most people think sakusa doesn't have a lot to say. news reports and images in social media usually depict him letting his famous scowl and frown do the talking. but as he sits there with you, completely free and vulnerable, he lets his tongue run wild and lose.

"-and you'd think miya would know better." he clicks his tongue in annoyance as he recalls his exhausting night for you. the room is filled with the powdery scent of candles, ones you've set up, knowing just how much they relax him. and him coming home from a night out with his teammates really called for some relaxation.

a smile slips from your lips as you watch your boyfriend ramble on, face contorting into cute expressions as he verbalizes his thoughts, "so did you got them home?" you ask in which he sighs, exasperatingly.

"yeah, but i am never going drinking with them again." he says with a little hint of a whine. and as he watches you let out a laugh (much to his satisfaction) he rests his head on your chest, mumbling onto it, "miya got both hinata and bokuto too drunk. the car ride home was a mess."

you feel him bury himself further onto your chest, nuzzling its warmth, as you gently brush his curls absentmindedly, "well, thank you for getting them home safely nevertheless."

his shoulders relax and he seemingly purrs on top of you, "yeah, but i'd really rather spend my nights with you,"

hinata - definitely a rex orange county stan, like mellow indie songs and a bit of pop as well

favourite song: sunflower - rex orange county

kageyama - INDIE ROCK, he comes across as a bit of a music snob bc he doesnt like pop but he secretly vibes to the black eyed peas when he’s home alone

tsukishima - a lot of pop punk and generic rock, he never rlly had an emo phase but appreciates the genius of patrick stump and matt bellamy with the enthusiasm of a former emo

i made a desertduo playlist and then decided to be a nerd and write explanations for all the songs! like a nerd!

QUICK DISCLAIMER: i am aware that a lot of these songs may have or imply romantic connotation! i would really really like it if these were not read as though those romantic connotations carry over to scar and grian. even if we’re just talking about the third life characters, i would prefer not to ship them or imply romance between them on this post. thank you so much and keep reading if you’d like to see the playlist analysis!

and now that that’s out of the way, PLAYLIST TIME!

•

passerine- the oh hellos

“you were the song that i’d always sing/you were the light that the fire would bring/but i can’t shake this feeling that i/was only pushing the spear into your side again”

this song really just... firstly, it’s one of my favorite songs, and the line i chose there pushes home the sort of terrified devotion i think the desert has. plus there’s a fun line about the cold wind blowing in from the north in the ending bits that i think very much fits their conflict with the red army, and a lot of legally obligated flight imagery that i need to have in every possible song because i’m a fuckin nerd.

•

no children- the mountain goats

“i hope that our few remaining friends/give up on trying to save us/i hope we come up with a failsafe plot to piss off the dumb few that forgave us”

i will admit that no children isn’t a perfect fit, but the general vibe of sort of defiant pessimism and betrayal fits very well with them! it’s very triumphant in its death, and i think that is very desertcore, because what’s more triumphantly dead than being the last duo left alive?

•

skulls- bastille

“when all of our friends are dead and just a memory/it’s always been just you and me/for all to see”

okay like this entire song is SO MUCH DESERT VIBES? LIKE SO MUCH. if i were to ever make an animatic for them i’d do it with this song. “a match is our only light, it’s day of the dead i’m indiana jones, yeah,” “i hope you can make me laugh six feet under when we’re bored of each other,” “i don’t want to rest in peace, i’d rather be the ghost that annoys you,” IT JUST KEEPS GOING. i think this song would work well with any third life duo, honestly, but these two in PARTICULAR just because of how it ended with them literally ‘buried’ next to each other, and again, the chaotic death vibes.

•

freaking out- mystery skulls

“i just keep out of my tongue/til all you want is done/and you just wanna leave me, oh yeah”

this song is a very third life grian song to me in particular! it could be my bias because of my little headcanon of grian burning on his red life, but seriously, this song is very reminiscent of the back and forth of loyalty that grian has with scar. the above line is sort of representative of the betrayal on red, and of course grian’s life debt.

•

night running- shin sakiura

(this song is in japanese! these lyrics are the rough english translation i found on google.) “someday we will stand at this place once again/for sure we will stand up again and again/we will watch it will the end/i want you to live freely”

this song is actually the ending theme for the anime bna, which i adore, and i just added it on a whim before looking at the translated lyrics. but um. holy hell the lyrics hurt me because they’re about running in search of someone, running for no reason, looking for something, and it just really hit, because the desert never really had a goal! they didn’t expect to survive, they were trying to survive, but what was their longterm goals? nothing. so that sort of endless search felt fitting for this. plus the song is a parallel for the two estranged best friends of the show so! perfect.

•

summer nights- siames

“it’s summertime/singing al green in your car/heading to a party/and the night air feels alive”

okay again, i will admit this song is mainly on here because i absolutely love it, but i also do think it fits well. it’s also about healing/estranged friendships, with a very distinct feeling of nostalgia for a happier time. maybe for a time when this was all a game, when there was no blood or betrayals on their hands. little canon divergent, but it’s fun for me, so into the playlist it goes!

allies or enemies- the crane wives

“are we allies or enemies/this will be the death of me, this will be the death of me/all’s fair in love and war but i can’t fight with you anymore”

. i just. points to that lyric. it literally led to both of their deaths. are they allies or enemies? it also fits with scar still wanting grian to be his friend even after he’s no longer indebted with the line “what happens now? do we have another go, do we bow out?” another very good animatic song that i’ve considered heavily. i listen to this playlist a lot

burn him down- kitsch club

“you must destroy, oh you must destroy, beyond all recognition/you gotta burn him down, you gotta burn him down, beyond all recognition”

this song just has a lot of fire and arson and high energy vibes. my little war criminals look at them go

rose- the oh hellos

“what's true is like a sickle/it'll cut you to the middle/your rose is without a thorn/but no, my mouth don't taste of metal/from the pot here to the kettle/i think we got a lot we gotta learn”

this one is like the exact opposite vibe of burn him down. the oh hellos are so poetic and this song just... feels like the healing potions after a battle. many of the metaphors here fit, i think

lone digger- caravan palace

“hey, brother, what you thinking/that good ol' sound is ringing/they don't know what they're missing/(they call it lonely diggin')”

okay this song is straight up just a dance song. i added it because i like it and also for some reason it feels ominous to me? i’ve got no idea why, it’s seriously just a club song, but it’s a banger and it’s in this playlist because i said so

feed the machine- poor man’s poison (suggested by my friend argonaughtkeene!)

“somethin’s goin” on, just look around/fear is on the rise, and there’s blood all over the ground/let’s all just blindfold the poor, we all know what’s in store/ we got ‘em now, just break ‘em down a little bit more”

this song is a VIBE for both desertduo members. there’s parts for both of them. it’s ruthless, gritty, very maniacal, perfect. listen to it and you’ll immediately understand why i added it.

sweet tooth- scott helman

“i hold hands with cosmic entities/i’ll take this two-ride if i please/i got this sweet tooth baby, yeah i got this sweet tooth baby/i exploit my opportunities/some broken hearts, some cavities”

sweet tooth is super upbeat and bright with these strangely dark lyrics? like i’m pretty sure it’s about addiction. in any case, i thought the “i hold hands with cosmic entities” very funnily fitting for both of the desert boys. it’s a banger!

necromancin’ dancin’- bear ghost

“when i’m necromancin’, everyone’s dancin’/nobody can stop me, i dare you to try/the dead are infused with insatiable groove and they’re coming for you, there’s nowhere to hide”

necromancin’ dancin’ just. bastard vibes. there’s not much more to say it’s just huge villain song vibes. i adore it.

crazy = genius- panic! at the disco

“if crazy equals genius/then i’m a fucking arsonist/i’m a rocket scientist/if crazy equals genius/you can set yourself on fire/but you’re never gonna burn, burn, burn”

i. yeah. y. yeah. more bastard vibes. also shoutout to an artist i saw (i think it was strifesolution?) who made a desertduo piece to this song because i have not stopped thinking about it ever

sweet bod- lemon demon

you know how i said freaking out was a grian song? this one is a scar song. it’s my favorite lemon demon song and also it has the total macabre capitalism vibe that third life scar NAILED. more bastard vibes good for him <3

the descent of this song, starting off with a polite gathering and ending with a gasping drunk in the parking lot gazing at the stars that he can barely see? yes. yeah. mhm. i used a line from this song for a fic, actually, it fit so well.

oh no!- marina

“one track mind, one track heart/if i fail, i’ll fall apart/maybe it is all a test/cos i feel like i’m the worst so i always act like i’m the best”

bubbly pop track about false confidence, the ruthlessness of the pop industry, and the influence of the media? you know why this is here. it vibes. it rocks.

EVEN MORE BASTARD VIBES! SOMEHOW THERE IS MORE! this playlist is half villain songs and half heart-wrenching ballads and that’s the real desert experience i think.

the phoenix- fall out boy

BATTLE SONG BATTLE SONG! i’ll be honest i partially chose this song because i am a huge sucker for phoenix grian imagery in particular, but it’s also just a very good war song for them. villain song no 18372948 except this one originally had a hero vibe and now it’s changed specifically for them?? wild. their power

the other side- the greatest showman

scar and grian’s desert monopoly conversation went exactly like this canonically because i said so fuck you <3

icicles- the scary jokes (suggested by my friend demizorua!)

this song actually has specific parts for both grian and scar! my cool epic friend mx demizorua pointed both of them out to me and i adored it so much. it’s a very spiteful song, just like the desert boys. also it feels vaguely murderous. perfect

literally this entire song fits them. particularly their relationship with the flower husbands, to me, honestly— the whole “when we meet at the pearly gates/you’ll get the green light/and i’ll get the boot in the face” reminds me a lot of them hdksjdks

h. yeah. this song is literally gaslight gatekeep girlboss and i attribute it to the desert for that reason alone. songs to commit murder to!

okay again! this one has two very specific parts for both of them. grian’s the first verse, which is above, and scar’s the second verse!! i really do like my fire imagery for these two don’t i? well, i blame them for having a fuck ton of tnt on them at all times and literally burning their enemy’s banners as a final act of defiance.
