#but canada france and england all seem like they would lmao

yooo it’s ur weeb friend!!
lmao so asmo got banned from peru (and probably greece after the incident with helen BUT that’s water under the bridge) and levi got banned from japan for being too cringe-fail (the americans are already enough, NO MORE) but what about the others?
i feel like beel got banned from ireland after causing the great potato famine and from italy after eating all the pasta in the entire country once…
mammon got banned from vegas FOR SURE for causing a scene (not a country BUT he’s been banned from every casino in the US, and steadily working his way through canada and europe (starting with england) he’s making progress…
lucifer got banned from italy also for the vatican city incident. he wanted to see it cause he’d heard so much about it. no one is allowed to talk about it…but the brothers will tell you about it later if you want to know.
belphie and diavolo got banned from all of africa because due to a mix up they got blamed for spreading the sleeping sickness and malaria respectively (they didn’t actually do it but can’t seem to escape the allegations)
i think solomon got banned from mexico and all of south america and is the cause behind a lot of the superstitions based on devils/the occult there. people run from him in fear. he claims to not know why but you know there’s a reason. you can try to ask someone but they’re all too busy fleeing in terror.
barbatos claims he got banned from russia and china. no one knows why, not even diavolo. it’s one of the mysteries that he’s very secretive about, but legend has it that it’s related to something he did before he joined forces with diavolo.
i also think asmo got banned from india and some regions of france as well as various other european countries like spain and scotland but the stories behind those pretty much revolve around a party, drinking, and members of nobility. and they’re usually so long and crazy and asmo is always insistent he did nothing wrong and will leave out parts of the story to make himself sound good BUT if you’re a real history buff you can usually sus out what actually happened. or get him drunk. he always has loose lips when he drinks.
satan got banned from the americas (specifically north america) due to his rebellious streak/temper tantrum days resulting in the satanic panic. mostly caused by americans being rude and making him angry. he’s also a basis for a lot of mexico/south american superstition, though somehow…not as much as solomon?
just my silly lil ideas i wanted to share! what are your thoughts?? 🤔🤔🤔
Hello there, my friend!!
al;dskjfasdlksfj Beel causing the potato famine looool!
I definitely think they all have the potential to get banned for causing specific issues. Definitely Beel eating all of everything, Mammon causing trouble at casinos, and Asmo just getting drunk and partying too much.
I also think Mammon would be banned for doing something like insurance fraud. I don't know why but that just seems like something he'd get himself into. Or maybe it turns out he's the mastermind behind all the internet email scams asking you to send them thousands of dollars.
I think Lucifer has to be extra careful because uh... he's Lucifer. You would think he'd be banned from the Vatican before he ever even showed up there. Satan, too. Just stay away from religious locations when the religion in question considers you to be the source of evil, okay?? Though I would absolutely demand the story from the other brothers about the incident lol.
Okay see I headcanon Solomon spent a significant amount of time in the southwestern US just because he's always wearing that bolo tie lol. So I love the idea that he was also in Mexico and South America, just being the menace he always is. In the Devildom, the stuff he does isn't too weird, but can you imagine normal people in the human world encountering him and all his weird experiments? And if he was actually covered in pacts marks that look like demonic sigils? I have no doubt that he would be the source of years worth of superstitions.
I LOVE all ideas where Satan is the cause of any kind of Satantic activity anywhere. Like the Satanic panic was so ridiculous, but I love the idea of him causing it just by being angry about rude people.
I do think Satan could also have been banned from Japan - most specifically, Tashirojima where the cat population far surpasses that of the human one. Possibly also Hydra Island in Greece, which is another island known for its high cat population. I just think eventually they'd be like listen we appreciate how much you love the cats, but you need to leave now lol.
All of this seems more than enough to get any of them banned from the various human world locations they've caused trouble in. It's so funny to think about them running rampant in the human world. Lucifer out here probably acting like he'd never get banned, but he's caused his fair amount of problems, too.

Hetalia Headcanon #426
Canada, England, and France all call or write America to remind him of occasions when he should offer congratulations/well-wishes to somebody else. (England may be a bit sarcastic, but not even too much.) They know that America wishes to keep up with that in order to be on friendly terms with people but he’s just too self-centred for that and he forgets way too often, even if he doesn’t mean to.
...Half of the times, America still forgets because he reads their messages and promises himself to do that later, only to promptly forget about it.

The Sun never sets on the Magisterium
The reach of the Holy Church in Lyra’s world is the first and most prominent worldbuilding aspect we learn from Northern Lights. It is the most important introduction one has to this world, so vastly different than ours yet so similar still, and it is the one trait that remains constant throughout both trilogies and novellas included.
This is an analysis of the Church in Lyra’s world, so spoilers for all the books and novellas, most likely. I’ll try and make a single post about this but I’m gonna reserve the right of maybe doing two separate parts because it’s a big subject. Under the cut because you know the drill, it’s long lol
The Magisterium was founded after John Calvin’s death, who had been Pope, and had the seat of the Church moved to Geneva. Although it is never clear, the Magisterium’s religious aspects come mostly from the Roman Catholic Church, and Pullman himself said in an interview, that some of its dogma is based on the original puritans. In this world, Calvin didn’t seem to have moved forward with his reform, not needing to break ties with the Catholic Church since he had become the Catholic Church.
Despite becoming a vast collective of “courts, colleges, and councils,” the Magisterium remains rather similar to most Christian branches from our world, at least in the medieval times. They had ties with kingdoms, they had influence over colonization, as well as economic and political influence, not to mention military too.
In Lyra’s world, the Magisterium seems intimately tied to Geneva’s politics, at the very least; it gives the impression that the city is somehow independent from the rest of Switzerland, not unlike the Vatican is independent from Italy. It is however, mentioned that the Swiss War was an armed conflict between England and the Magisterium, which means that they must have a full fledged control over the entire country and not just Geneva, although like most things in these books, this is not a sure claim.
With the Swiss War happening some time around 1933 and 1935, it gives this wild and quite odd picture, of a Church actively trying to invade a country. Although not that foreign a concept, since the Catholic Church was highly involved with the colonization process of our world, they never quite invaded the countries themselves (at least during the 1500s colonizations, as the Crusades were sort of Catholics invading countries lmao), instead joining later as the Monarchs of Europe established outposts and colonies and had already subdued natives in the area.
We do not have an exact date for the Magisterium’s creation, the implication being that it was set somewhere 600 years prior to Marcel Delamare’s acceptance of Leader of the High Council in TSC, it is fair to assume that colonization was already happening in Lyra’s world’s 15th century-ish and that the Magisterium was involved with that much in the same way it was in our world: by converting people, be it by force or by persuasion.
However, in Lyra’s world, the Magisterium stopped being a fully religious entity at some point, and became a full fledge state-like organization, spread all across the globe in different shapes and names, all answering to the bigger and more powerful groups, usually stationed in Geneva: the College of Bishops during its initial centuries, then eventually the Consistorial Court of Discipline, who by NL had become an immensely powerful group, in a power conflict with the less threatening Society of the Work of the Holy Spirit. The CCD being the harshest and most powerful group in the Magisterium, at least during the events of HDM, seemed to have had a lot of power in Geneva and in nearby areas, such as France (as we learn in LBS, the alethiometrists of Paris were sympathetic to the Church, not a surprise given France’s very Catholic Background) and Germany.
With information known from LBS and HDM, the Magisterium seems to hold under its power both the Swiss Army (implied, at least, given the Swiss War being a conflict created by the Magisterium itself) and the Imperial Guard of Muscovy, which seemed to have been under the control of the CCD in particular. It is not explained exactly why the Muscovite Army serves the Church and personally, my knowledge of anything Eastern Europe is very slim, so I’m not gonna attempt to assume much, but given that in TSK it is said they were “sworn to uphold the power of the Magisterium”, it’s possible — and very likely — that the Muscovite government had some sort of deep rooted connection with the Church. Again, not a surprise for Europe, as most countries had monarchies connected to the Church very intimately.
I’m not diving deep into every single one of the Magisterium groups, especially because we know very little about most of them. During the Magisterium congress in TSC, it is mentioned that 53 delegates attended, each representing a group at least (we know both Pierre Binaud AND the President of the CCD attended and they both are part of the same group), so that alone should prove why I couldn’t possibly talk about every single one of them lmao Some of those aren’t even mentioned by name. So, before I tackle on the most important groups and what they represent, I wanted to discuss how the Magisterium’s influence in the world seems to work in a geographical way.
We know for a fact that Geneva — and Switzerland, at least implied so — is absolutely under the control of the Church. Whether they share power with a political group or they are the political branch themselves, I could not say, but at any rate, we know the Magisterium waged war on England under the Swiss banner at one point in time and it’s fairly unlikely that it changed much in less than a century; that alone proves that State and Church don’t seem separate here.
So, how I perceive the Church in Lyra’s world — not just based on preference, but also on what we see of the world, however little it is — is that the further the country and cities are from Geneva, the looser the Magisterium’s grasp is and the more different its approach to power becomes. I use the word ‘looser’ here very lightly, as I don’t think the Americas weren’t oppressed, but I think the Magisterium had a much different type of hold and influence there, and I do think the huge oceans separating Europe from Oceania and the Americas helped change the pull of the Church.
That is different from how it happened in our world, but there is also the difference in how the Magisterium operates; each of its groups work under different philosophies and dogmas and politics. They embody the same religion - Christianism - but they do not act the same way, a good example being how the faithful in Constantinople act towards the Patriarch, while England has very little respect for the CCD, instead just fearing it. In our world, the Church operated sort as an unified front, but in Lyra’s world these many groups are always and constantly fighting each other for power and influence, creating alliances and making enemies between themselves. In England alone, we see that many groups have “outposts” there, the CCD and the Oblation Board, as well as all the Priories and chapels and all that.
There is also the fact that Lyra’s world still seems to have a very independent Africa, as we see the presence of King Ogunwe, meaning that some of the areas in Africa still had independent Kingdoms. This doesn’t mean that the African colonies that did exist weren’t converted or oppressed, but it does mean that these independent Kingdoms resisted the Church’s influence and depending on what group was harassing them, they could succeed in breaking the Church’s ever growing presence. This seems a similar situation for the Americas, given how odd the borders are in Lyra’s world  — South America having way less countries than it does in our worlds and the US never being formed, instead separated into at least two regions, three depending if New France means Canada or yet another part of a possible US.
This is a very ugly map I coloured to show my point lmao The Red Areas cover most of Western Europe and some of Eastern Europe, as well as a part of Russia. All these areas are connected by roads or trains, meaning that the Magisterium’s pull could have started long before airplanes were even created; these means the influence and presence would have existed for a long period of time in most of Europe, meaning More Magisterium Strength. It also covers areas I assumed would be heavily populated areas in the colonies, most of the coastal areas in Brasil, most of the United States because they have two different countries in them  — Texas and New Denmark  — and most of Coastal Australia, although by HDM it’s fair to assume all these regions are no longer colonies, but independent states.
Tumblr media
I didn’t go into full detail, there are countries I didn colour with red but that should be red. The Green Areas are contested Areas, places where the Magisterium would have a presence but that would create conflicts for different reasons, being other religions, an uncooperative governement or simply because the group in charge of the area is not competent or too violent to properly establish a presence. This would be the areas in the continents, especially in Africa, where in our world they were heavily colonised but in Lyra’s world they are still independent kingdoms, with military forces and political freedom. Some parts of Russia are green because in Lyra’s world there is the implication Russia is divided into at least three different territories  — Muscovy, Tartary and Siberia  —  and the tartars are considered heretics by the Church; is the territory I painted in green correspondent to actual Tartar regions? I have no idea, but I’m hoping you can forgive my geographic inaccuracy in favour of all this mega meta thing I just spurred. LMAO
And finally the Purple Areas are mostly in places where the weather would be too harsh or where population would be too small to attract the eye of the Magisterium. Ultimately, the Church in Lyra’s world does not only seek to convert everyone and rid the world of heretics, but they also want political influence, economical and military as well, and a small village in Greenland offers absolutely none of that. Some of these areas would also be found in Asia, I believe, especially the very distant and small villages where Islam would have been able to survive. I’ve written a bit about other religions in Lyra’s world if you want to read before going on.
With all that in mind  — and out of the way!  — let’s take a closer look at the Magisterium most notable groups. Starting of course, with the CCD, it’s important to keep in mind that the CCD was the first group created in the Magisterium. It wasn’t always, however, the most powerful one; in Northern Lights, it’s said they only gained notoriety in “recent years”, and we see in La Belle Sauvage that they were already active, including in England, so my assumption is that not only Pullman did a slight retcon here, but also that recent years can mean somewhere in the range of 70 to 100 years. This doesn’t change the fact the CCD became powerful and feared in the Magisterium, nor that their power in England grew considerably between LBS and TAS and then TSC. They are mostly an enforcer type of group  (this is how I refer to them, not canon: enforcer or militia for groups that can arrest, or do any type of Police/militia/army related type of work; dogmatic is how I refer to the groups that usually deal with conversion, reeducation, philosophical works - this isn’t relevant, I’m just. Trying to Make Sense lmao) and as an enforcer, the CCD is violent and ruthless and often lawless in its work outside Geneva.
Despite the fact they are known as a Church Authority, they cannot murder freely and without consequence. In England they act in the shadows during LBS, disguising Robert Luckhurt’s murder as a drowning, and not much is known about their work during HDM, but in TSC they start to openly arrest people for heresy, no doubt a change from the government after Marcel’s rise to power. The CCD seems to act all across Europe and even Central Asia, as we see some of its forces in Constantinople, although it isn’t clear if they were there simply because the Patriarch died or if they are also stationed in the city; the Sublime Porte had its own guards as well, given its status as a government base.
Not much is known of the Society of the Work of the Holy Spirit, except that they seemed less harsh than the CCD and during their quest to find Lyra, they were far more interested in not killing her. Lord Asriel mentions in TAS about his surprise in learning that Lord Roke managed to infiltrate the group, as they were considered impregnable; given Lady Salmakia’s method, and the whole attitude of the group towards the prophecy — it was assumed they weren’t going to do anything about it  — I’d safely assume they were more inclined towards being dogmatic.
Perhaps even older than the CCD, the College of Bishops was perhaps inherited from the Catholic Church before the Magisterium was born. It was known to be the most remarkable and powerful of the groups for centuries after the creation of the Magisterium. Not much is said about them, but given their counterpart in our world, I’d assume they were more inclined towards dogma than enforcer. They are, in our world, a collection of bishops who work closely with the Pope; in Lyra’s world, by the time the Magisterium existed, the Pope no longer existed, so the assumption is that the College replaced the Pope figure altogether, being led by all the bishops in the collection, probably working like a council.
Everything we know about La Maison Juste is confusing and unclear, as most things worldbuilding-wise are in these books. Their official name is League for the Instauration of the Holy Purpose, which coincides with Olivier Bonneville’s description of their work, about “accomodating the life of the world to the life of the spirit”. In other words, it means making sure that daily life can be fitted into the dogma of the Church; it’s vital for the Magisterium to adapt as progress comes. Unlike the CCD, that suppress anything that borders heresy, La Maison Juste seems more inclined towards adapting the dogma so the world can still be within the Magisterium’s expectations.
However, there is mention of La Maison Juste being a place meant to study and examine heresy; there is also a mention in TSC, by Olivier, about how the group changed under Marcel’s leadership, “being a force for good” in the ranks of the Magisterium. What that means exactly, I can’t say; it could be Marcel changed the heresy examination to something more productive and less harsh, or it could just mean he became more strict towards heresy, but that would conflict with Olivier’s description about the accomodation thing. At any rate, I do classify them as dogmatic, and we see Marcel using the CCD to go after Olivier when he flees Geneva; it’s curious because there seems to be implied the CCD outranks his group, but he still uses their forces to do anything remotely violent. There is however, a passage where Lyra lies to a guard from the Office of Right Duty about being part of La Maison Juste, and the guard gets spooked. This is curious because La Maison Juste barely seems remarkable up until the congress happens, but the mention scares the man off.
Two groups  — that we know of  — were responsibility of Mrs. Coulter. The League of St. Alexander seemed to have been created around the same time LBS happens (roughly 1986 if the timeline makes any sense, which probably doesn’t). Hannah Relf learns at some point that Marisa was behind it, but it’s never clear what was her role in it exactly. It doesn’t look like the League was a private initiative, but actually tied to the Church and it was as good a Scam as any. Marisa being behind it didn’t necessarily mean she was the active leader of the group, as they mention a man under the codename Bishop seemed to be in charge, but then again, I cannot say with certainty. They were definitely a dogmatic group, with brainwashing added to the mix, but they seemed to have mutated over time and it isn’t clear whether they only existed in England or not.
The General Oblation Board was Mrs. Coulter’s actual, proper group. It was a private initiative, under the CCD’s rule, but the nature of their work seemed to threaten the CCD’s leadership in the Magisterium. MacPhail made an extra effort to try and dismantle them, especially because he believed that Dust should be destroyed and not examined. I don’t think the fate of the group was ever disclosed, despite their losses, but by TAS MacPhail mentions them as if they are still functioning. Whether they survived up to TSC is not clear, but it’s also hard to imagine what could they have become without Marisa. It’s also interesting to think what would have happened to the Magisterium, had Marisa succeeded in taking the place of the CCD; a private initiative group as the most powerful group in the Magisterium would have caused drastic changes, and probably opened the doors to the big corporations much sooner than Marcel’s work in TSC. The GOB could be classified as dogmatic, given their interest in Dust, but they were far more into scientific research than La Maison Juste seems to be, for example. They also had their own private guards, so no need for the CCD’s enforcers.
I think these groups showcase well how the Magisterium operates. The further we see Lyra go into the East, we realise how the grip of the Church seems lighter and far more military inclined. Is the Magisterium everywhere? Frankly, I don’t think so. I think they have a substantial presence in every country with any amount of political influence or power; any country that might offer opposition. We know they tried to conquer England through an actual war, which is quite odd for a religion, but this is where the Theocracy takes it place in Lyra’s world: they become a single unified front with their country  — Switzerland, in this case  — and the countries where they have more power, they can also control. The places they can’t take by force, they take with dogma and faith, and slowly overthrow these governments by turning their people against themselves.
They are so vastly fragmented that even places with small groups are affected by their presence, no matter small and odd that can be. It’s both curious and terrifying to see a world so deeply overwhelmed by a single opponent, but then again, it’s not that far off our reality. The Magisterium doesn’t represent just faith and religion, but also the big oligarchies, and how governments bend to the will of big companies, and how these aligned forces can become oppressive over time. The Church’s hold across Europe, Africa and Asia was not fast and unpredictable; it was obvious and slow. It started with small conversions and with time, the Church become a force of sustainability for different regions; they become an important part of the enviroment, of the economy, of the security of the country. They become something to be relied on and thus removing them become difficult over time as well, as the micro societies  — the neighborhoods, the small villages  — they become reliant on the Church’s helpful groups to survive, meaning that their fear of the enforcers are overwhelmed by the help of the Chapels, and the priories.
It’s the creation of a co-dependent ecosystem that is very difficult to dissolve without harming innocent people.

Lmao yeah England was like ‘yeah all come at me bro we’ll throw hands’ whilst being one of the weaker powers and getting ganged up on. In class we had a debate on if we think England would’ve stayed as England as we know it ,if it wasn’t an island (like it was connected to the rest of Europe) , it was pretty unanimous that nah England would be fudged. Also like not calling stuff the Tudor era, the Victorian era, the Edwardian era is mad to me but I guess it’s the same as with your PM dating system bc the ruler effected the country and that .I mean since the 1900s we’ve used like events but that’s probs mainly because we’ve had the same ruler for like 60% the 1900s 😂.
Knight used to play for Montreal in the CWHL but in the PWHPA she plays for Minnesota (as far as Ik unless she changed to Boston-which seems unlikely), Minnesota is pretty much the same as Montreal when it comes to being basically the national team tho lmao.
😂 that’s iconic. I’ve never put money on it but I’ve guessed who’s gonna get a point or who will win or what the score would be a lot (I made a bet with my mate once and he had to have me as a screensaver saying like he lost the bet and I was boss). ( like next rivalry series game- based on how they playing now fillier is gonna score, and I’m gonna say Pou and Daoust at least a point each?) - should always but Canada and usa having a 3-2 game lol, they seem to have a weird amount of them. (Rn I’m getting flashbacks to the 5 minute comeback in Sochi. Lol they had a 2-0 lead with 5 to go and lost 3-2 in OT)
And yeah some American humour I like but some of it I was like unsure on cause it’s so different to English humour and I feel like sometimes they try copy the scenes from the English one and it doesn’t work because of it not being the same humour, like it’s funnier in scenes they write up rather than copy (the American inbetweeners is like a example of this). I promise I don’t hate us shows - the office is boss.😂😂 (if u want me to send u any YouTube links to ghosts I can 👍😁)
Soz if I’m rambling, I’m just word vomiting and just got home from practice so my brain is tired 😂✌🏻
England definitely would not exist if it wasn’t an island for sure they didn’t know shit about how to run an army like Henry viii could’ve fucking obliterated Scotland like 3 times but called off his troops to go fight France again like if he was at war with like Germany or Italy or Spain and then France showed up he’d let Germany/Italy/Spain run amuck in his land just to flip the bird at France they would 100% get demolished if they were attached to Europe
On a side note I do think my favourite of Canada’s PMs was tommy douglass and my least favourite is everyone else lmao
Love that when teams are basically just an entire national team, like man city being England lite or Barca being Spain 2.0 I love it, it’s gotta be weird in hockey though because Canada and US are rivals so when the Canada lite plays US lite it’s like essentially Canada playing the US but they’re not calling it that so are they still rivals? Idk I just think the Canada US rivalry is fun and I hope they end up in the Olympic finals and have a bench clearing brawl (not that I’m advocating for violence I just think it would be funny)
Oh I love thinking about Sochi, even before I was into hockey I’d watch all the Olympic hockey games and go fucking feral when Canada would win, I was a massive Hayley wickenheiser fan growing up even if I wasn’t a hockey fan
I don’t bet very often because I almost always lose, my brothers the better in our family and idk if he’s any good but he only bets like max $5 on a game so he doesn’t lose much. If I were to bet on hockey though I’d just bet that it would be a close game 😂 seems like Canada’s 5-1 win in the worlds was an outlier that should not be counted, close games are exciting but they also give me heart attacks so I wish we would stop having them
Would it be bad for me to say I’ve never watched the office? I believe you about the humour, I’ve not really watched a lot of shows that are remakes from British ones or if I did I didn’t watch the original, but I can imagine trying to copy jokes that don’t land in another culture is bad and you should just make new jokes
I think this whole convo we’re having is not only fun but also hilarious because we’re talking about like 4 different things at the same time, but I love it I’m enjoying it keep it up

Cause we've been talking a lot about the good boy lately. Let's see Ollie.
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: His baking of course! Ollie Ollie makes the BEST cupcakes and pastries! Also his style is always on point but we been know that
worst quality: Can get a bit touchy about certain things. This isn’t exactly a bad thing per se, just a thing that he does that even if it doesn’t get on other people’s nerves it gets on his own. He wished he didn’t get so upset about certain things so easily.
ship them with: Marcel (2p France), Arthur, Zao (2p China), Kuro (2p Japan), and not as much as the others but low key Alice (Nyo England), and Ophelia (2p Nyo England)
brotp them with: Just about everyone! Who isn’t Oliver friends with! Of course, he’s closest with the other Englands and also the Americas and the Canadas. He’s also friends with the Frances and is probably more friendly towards Francis than Arthur is some days lmao
needs to stay away from: Negativity. Of course, negativity is bound to happen in life, that’s just a fact. But Oliver does everything to keep as positive as he can. He fears losing himself in the negatives and the things that scare him. It’s a big reason why he always surrounds himself with bright colors, cute and warm things, and lots of friends!
misc. thoughts: IK I’ve said this before but Oliver really is one of my favorites. When I was younger I didn’t like the 2ps cause I thought they all acted the same and I never have been a fan of the “evil polar opposite to the hero” character trope (You should see me rant and bitch about Negaduck LMAO). But for some reason I still loved Oliver. His aesthetic was so so good and something just clicked with him. However a good majority of the modern fandom has seemed to stray away from those versions of the 2ps so now I honestly ADORE the 2ps. I have so many thoughts and ideas about them and even though I have others I love to death Oliver will always be a favorite of mine. He’s someone I can relate to in a lot of ways especially in the way you (and some of the more modern fans) characterize him! Makes me happy uwu TL;DR love that pink boy

if they were living in the avatar universe, what element would the 2ps be able to bend? water, earth, fire or air?
I high-key low-key haven’t watched a lot of the Avatar series so forgive my ignorance. I had to research a lot tho so I hope this is semi accurate.
The 2p’s as benders:
water: 2p France, 2p China, 2p Japan, 2p England
Tumblr media
I was gonna put Oliver and Francois in Earth but I changed my mind cause all three of these people are pretty perfect for Water bending. I can see all of them gracefully turning their defensive techniques into something offensive as to not directly attack the enemy and use their strengths against them. most of them have a water bending personality type in a sense: adaptable but not faltering.
Fire: 2p America, 2p S. Italy, 2p Austria 2p N. Italy
Tumblr media
These guys seem the most firebender like to me cause of their overall personalities and their methods of attack. These guys are definitely mostly offensive with the notion to overwhelm their opponents with attacks until they can deliver a final fatal blow. However they are lacking in the defense compartment
Earth: 2p Russia, 2p Canada
Tumblr media
These two are perfect for Earthbending as they have quite a lot of endurance and would have diverse bending techniques. They are both very accustomed to waiting to attack until the right moment as well although, Viktor is a bit more patient and better at listening when put under pressure than Mattie.
Air: 2p Germany, 2p Prussia,
Tumblr media
I can see these two, as airbenders, having a lot of power and not ever actually using it to overwhelm and conquer people because of their peaceful beliefs. As Air is the element of freedom I thought it perfect to place Lutz here which would tie into his fear of being tied down. Both of these boys would also look to detach themselves worldly problems to find peace and freedom instead. I can see these two also being very defensive so :P.
I hope I did these guys and this show justice by writing it lmao. I’ll try to get into the series before the summer ends but I’m in the middle of Seven deadly sins ;~;

[REDACTED] be complaining reg. the reactions of having "placed the cultist island Fortuna off the coast of Florida" while having the gall of "It’s the story & the way it’s told that should fucking matter" & "Who cares? It’s fictional geography, you idiots." Feels a bit like failing World-Building 101. I mean, Red Grave based on London would also be a callback to Dante's early concept of being a Brit.
Someone already sent me the whole post of hers that I’m pretty sure you’re referring to lmao. I’m in a particularly cunty but pleasant mood rn, and analysis is kind of my thing, so lets’s break it down, shall we?
Maybe someone can send this her way and… learn that tiny little brain of hers a thing. 😉
It’s fictional geography called world building, you idiots Karen after the cut:
‘I love how a number of shitheels have screeched amongst themselves on this hellsite about how I had placed the cultist island Fortuna off the coast of Florida or somewhere around the Gulf US states (re: the fanfic & project link in my header), whining that it should’ve been in Europe, namely Italy.’
An admission to stalking profiles is not exactly the best way to start a self-righteous rant or advertise your… magnum opus, but go off, I guess.
‘Not only that, but they whined about “plotholes and inconsistencies” without elaborating on what the latter are. The asshole who made the rant was annoyed when I used a poem as a spell in the story (“if I heard that, I’d turn off my PS4.”), but I’m sure she didn’t bitch about the cutscene before the last Agnus boss fight in DMC4.’
Like the movie The Room (2003), it’s just easier to say “all of it” is bad because “all of it” contains plotholes and is inconsistent in tone, has terrible half-baked ideas and plot threads that remain unresolved and/or do nothing to further the plot, is rife with poor + inconsistent characterization, has a lack of any knowledge how the medium it exists in is made, and in general makes me wonder how much pottery enamel you’ve been huffing to think any of this was a good idea. Howeverrrr, in contrast to you, Tommy Wiseau is kind of odd and weirdly charming both in general and about his terrible movie — he’s found glory and success in its terribleness. You, in contrast, remain a miserable cunt with delusions of grandeur.
Dante and Agnus’ Shakespeare bit is actually a pretty well known trope called Ham-to-Ham Combat. Dante and Agnus are both ridiculous Large Hams in DMC4, and when two Large Hams meet, in general, they are likely gonna try to ‘out-over dramatic’ each other. This can lead to a scene becoming either really funny or really corny (or both) really fast. If things go too far — and they do, in this case — the scene can become a Hormel Event Horizon.
‘…but they LOVE the plotholes & inconsistencies if Capcom makes the latter, and writes a terrible story! And Crapcom’s canon for DMC is as straight as a paperclip or a dog’s hind leg. Hypocritical pricks.’
Subjective opinion is not, and never will be, objective fact. People are, as of when I checked again in the last ~5 minutes or so, absolutely able to enjoy whatever media they want regardless of what the general consensus on the quality of that media is.
As an example, I enjoy The Room (2003) despite its terribleness and it never fails to make me laugh, while your magnum opus makes me want to huff pottery enamel so the pain will stop despite you thinking it is the work of an idiot savant.
‘They were also mad that I wrote Dante as a wiseguy who is a little more low-key about it due to the circumstances— instead of being a pathetic manchild airhead that tries too hard.’
You didn’t write Dante.
You wrote Reboot!Donte — a fucking terribly out of character version of him, at that.
‘I was primarily concerned about moving the story along. I didn’t care about where a fictional island is supposed to go.’
You literally had one (1) job, Karen.
‘…Meanwhile, not a single character in DMC4 had an Italian accent, so uh, why should I give a flying fuck where I put it?’
Haven’t you been like… shitting on the DMC staff… for terrible writing… this enti— You know what? You’re obvs way too dumb to notice that contradiction, so I’ll let it slide.
Just… a word of advice, if I may? Don’t ever watch dub TV shows. That last brain cell would fuckin’ just burst all over your carpet.
(Actually, don’t watch subtitled shows either. An extremely popular anime that was set in Italy just wrapped and all the characters — le gasp! — spoke fucking Japanese. You would shit.)
‘I wasn’t paid to write any of what I wrote, but be my guest & send a PM if you want to throw money at me. By all means, do that.’
Tumblr media
Oh, thank fuck, because they would have been ripped off, big time.
[ btw, you sound p. jealous of people that write/do creative work/commissions for ko-fi/payment tho. Not a good look tbbh. If it’s any consolation, though, I don’t get paid for making fun of you and/or analyzing your dumb bullshit, either. :( ]
‘The pricks at Capcom didn’t even bother giving us a proper DMC4 and it was a half-assed game, with the latter half being hasty filler material. The “special edition” they coughed up in 2015 was just glorified overpriced DLC.’
Ya know, you gotta be pretty far up your own ass to think this much of your opinion. And I’m saying this as a person that’s pretty far up her own ass like 85% of the time.
‘And another thing, Redgrave City in DMC5 seems to be in England, yet no survivors speak with English accents or slang/dialects.’
Pretty sure no survivors had speaking roles.
If you played the game you’d know this.
‘Meanwhile, Dante and Vergil had lived there when they were kids (until age 8), but they both have ordinary American or Canadian accents. Furthermore, how did the twins make it to the USA or Canada? According to the little booklet in the DMC1 game case, Dante’s office is in modern America.’
You know that invoking the imagery of a specific place without naming your location is normal and standard practice, right? Overwatch even does this (For Ex: Byōdō-in (平等院), Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan is the inspiration for Hanamura, Château de Duingt, Duingt, France for Château Guillard, etc.)
Furthermore, you know the original DMC was a rejected first draft of Resident Evil 4, right? This is what retcon is for. You at least know what retcon is, right?
‘…That information isn’t very important, but I’m bringing it up to illustrate a point that being a fucking pedant about geography in a fantasy game is idiotic, even if the setting is akin to modern Earth.’
So is freaking the fuck out and sending death threats over a fantasy game but you didn’t let that stop you either lmfao.
It’s actually super important to establish your scenery and the way your world operates, especially in a written work in which readers are dependent on your vision and your descriptions, and if you were a decent writer, you’d know this.
‘It’s the story & the way it’s told that should fucking matter.’
YOU HAD ONE (1) JOB, KAREN.
‘What US states are the Arklay Mountains located in?’
General description puts them in the U.S. Midwest. Raccoon City itself is stated to have a population of ~100,000 at the time of outbreak, and the only city in the Midwest that matches that population in 1998 is Springfield, Missouri, with a pop. of ~110,000.
Springfield is on the Springfield Plateau of the Ozarks region of SW Missouri. So they’re part of the Ozark Mountains.
This all took less than ~3 minutes to google, btw.
‘Where is “Zanzibar Land?”’
I actually just wrote a comprehensive answer to an ask a few weeks ago about this. It’s actually stated to be in Tselinoyarsk (Целиоярск), the (fictional) area of the former USSR in which Big Boss carried out the Virtuous Mission/Operation Snake Eater in 1964. Tselinoyarsk itself is heavily implied to consist of parts of Kyrgyzstan and/or Tajikistan. If you played MGS3 you’d know how important the setting and the varied environments/climates are to the game mechan-
oh yeah wait you believe in segregation of story and gameplay mechanics. I forget you’re completely tone deaf sometimes lmao.
How far is ‘Salem’s Lot or Derry from Bangor? Who cares?’
Stephen King does, quite a bit. He even has a map on his website of ‘his’ fictional version of Maine:
Tumblr media
My disappointment is immeasurable, Karen.

This one seemed fun since I miss traveling
survey by –rainboweyes–
When you think of this country, what first comes to your mind?
Argentina: Patagonia
Brazil: Football/soccer. I did a report on Pele in elementary school.
Canada: Toronto. I went there in 8th grade. One of my first times outside the country.
Denmark: I’m literally blanking right now.
England: Definitely the music. The Beatles and Queen are two of my favorite bands.
France: Paris. And how people keep telling me to watch Emily in Paris.
Germany: Munich. Beer. Football again lol.
Hungary: I didn’t know what to expect when I visited Budapest. I really enjoyed it and there’s some beautiful architecture. However, there’s a lot of corruption over there and there is a lot of poverty in Budapest, not sure about the rest of the country.
Ireland: My time studying abroad there and how much I loved it. The people are hilarious and some of the kindest people you’ll meet.
Italy: Florence, Venice, and Rome. Also the art, whether that’s the Vatican, David, or any of the other museums.
Jamaica: My catholic high school did a mission trip there. I never went though because we didn’t exactly have money for it.
Japan: Tokyo and the fashion.
Korea: Skincare lmao.
Libya: I honestly don’t know enough about it.
Morocco: How colorful it is.
Norway: Northern lights. lol same.
Poland: Pączki. and how sad I don’t live in Michigan now lmao. I didn’t get any on Fat Tuesday.
Romania: Isn’t Black Widow from there?
Russia: Moscow. Which makes me think of the Queen’s Gambit and how great that sow is and how I need to actually finish the book.
Spain: I’ve been saving a lot pictures of Spain on pinterest. I wish I had made it over there when I was abroad.
Tunisia: I feel so dumb but nothing.
Turkey: All that political shit from like 2018 and 2019. I should research this since I’m not sure what the current situation is. Also the Byzantine Empire. I guess something from high school was actually retained.
Uganda: There was this children’s choir from Uganda and our school “adopted” one of the kids to send him money and new school uniforms and whatnot.
United States of America: Lol my home country. It’s a complete shit show politically, but I hope to visit the national parks.
United Kingdom: I don’t like how England and the United Kingdom are both on here as if the person who wrote this doesn’t know England is in the UK. However, I think of Scotland.
Australia: Kangaroos.
New Zealand: The climate.
List 3 movies you like in each genre.
Action: I don’t really watch action movies besides superhero movies.
Comedy: 22 Jump Street, Elf, Superbad
Drama: Imitation Game, Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump
Fantasy: Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Princess Bride
Horror: Sinister is the only “true” horror movie I like. I also like Sweeney Todd but that’s more of a musical.
Kids/Animated: Hercules, Mulan, Tangled
Romance: The Notebook, When Harry Met Sally, Dirty Dancing
Sci-Fi: Okay so Star Wars should probably be here. I hate movie questions I don’t know genres.
Thriller: Lol I don’t watch these.
Western: Again, I don’t watch these.
Answer just in numbers.
Number of brothers you have: 2
Number of sisters you have: 1
Number of the house you live at: It’s an apartment
Number of close friends you have: Like 2 or 3
Number of pets you have: 0 because technically my dog is my parents dog and she lives with them.
Number of times you shower a week: 5 or 6.
Number of concerts you’ve been to in your life: I’m just guessing because I don’t feel like thinking but I believe 6.
Number of cars your household has: 1
Number of serious relationships you’ve been in: 2
Number of movies you’ve seen at the cinema this year: 0 lol.
Number of people who live in your house: 1, myself.
Number of plug sockets in the room you’re in now: 4 but only 3 of them actually work lol.
Some more randomer questions.
What food do you have cravings for the most? Mexican food for sure.
What TV shows do you hate to miss on TV? I don’t remember the last time I actually watched a weekly show. Well right now the Mandalorian gets a new episode every Friday but I wait until Sundays to watch it because it’s a nice little ritual.
What do you tend to lose the most? Chapsticks or my keys lol.
The last time someone shouted at you - why were they shouting? My mom was pissed at me for something but I don’t remember why.
Would you rather have a cactus or a bonsai? Cactus.
What scary story freaks you out the most? I can’t think of one.
Are you better with gadgets or cooking? Lol gadgets. I suck at cooking
How would you rate your own looks? Personality? Like a 5 or 6 for both lol.
What accent is the most attractive? French accents, when speaking English.
Do you get annoyed when people spell your name wrong? No. I grew up with everyone knowing my last name and the second they hear it they asked who my parents are lol. (big family lol) So it’s nice living somewhere where people don’t necessarily know it and they might compliment it because it’s unique to them lol.

Took me three days to go through your entire blog! Love how you present the 2p guys. I was wondering how the 2ps would react to a S/O with a prosthetic leg. Would they help them fix their joints, go to doctor appointments or play pranks with them/ other people? Personally I love to leave my leg around and scare people 😂
((omf I don’t even know how I got here help, but thank you!! ))
2P!Italy: honestly I feel like he would be the type of person that would be afraid of hurting your feelings until you eventually tell him to stop being a hardass. after that he’s down for just about anything. he would probably put stickers on it if he wants to be passive aggressive. would go with you to all of your appointments
2P!Romano: the moment he found out you were comfortable about joking he would be preparing you to look like a zombie and release you into your local populated area, leg in hand
2P!Germany: since he’s an active fellow he would definitely work on joint repair with you. is the best spotter you could ever ask for. for Halloween he insists the two of you go as pirates every year
2P!Prussia: the two of you would be an unstoppable pair, him with his arm and you with your leg: together you would slowly build another person until there was a new Transformers movie
2P!Japan: I feel like he would want to test how much he could do before you felt he was touching you. depending on how high your prosthetic is, he would put his hand on your thigh and be really confused as to why it was so hard. all for pranks as long as he “wasn’t involved ;)”
2P!Spain: will sigh loudly every time he sees your leg laying somewhere. will most likely put it somewhere you can’t reach until you beg him to get it for you - if you’re stubborn and start climbing things he will give in in case you get yourself hurt. probably has joint pain remedies he’d give you
2P!America: don’t. let. him. know. he will, if you’re comfortable, ask to do weird experiments that will definitely get you killed. “s/o s/o s/o hey s/o have you ever thought of putting a pogo-” “a l l e n”
2P!England: he would forget your leg isn’t real and apologize profusely every time he stepped on your foot. would always be there to help you if you needed it and elbow you in the side every time you made a pun
2P!France: will also sigh loudly upon finding your leg. he goes to doctors appointments with you and refuses to wait outside. if your leg has a smooth surface then he will attempt to use dry erase markers on it all the time. he leaves sticky notes too. probably hides it when you’re asleep lol, but makes sure you can find it easily
2P!Russia: Viktor is susceptible to any and every prank, so please take advantage of this. he would gladly help you with anything you needed, though warily, uncertain of any tricks you might have up your pantleg. (ba dum tss)
2P!China: the first time he found out was by accident and he started crying because somehow he got it off of your leg and assumed he just snapped off your limb. you were probably crying (in laughter) which only freaked him out more. after you explained he laughed it off but is slightly afraid to touch it in fear he will break it lol. he’s really good with pain relief though, so that’s a plus
2P!Canada: honestly he’s the worst of them all, you two are the terribly terrific duo that just pranks everyone. he tries to make himself seem unsuspicious if someone is suspecting he was involved. he’s very gentle with your leg, however, because he doesn’t want to do something that might hurt you in some way. this, however, does not stop him from r o a s t i n g you verbally (nothing mean, I promise, none of the boys would ever maliciously joke about it)

I’d go to a protest if there was one nearby that I supported.
England: Are you controlling? That’s hard to answer? Because when things happen my initial instinct is to control them. The issues lies more with my hatred of vague plans tbh 😂

I’d just broken up from school for summer that day and we had an estate agent coming to value the house the next day so we could move out of the Flood Zone. That evening it rained and rained and I ran around the village asking council people to help us but no one came so we stayed up till 2am pouring water from around the house into wheelie bins to try and stop it coming in. Then I had a breakdown in the bath and just remember feeling so trapped. I never want to go through that again.
Prussia: Would you prefer to live forever or die alone?Oooooh thats a tough one! Bc living forever would surely involve a lot of time alone. I think I’d hate it tbh, 80 years is enough for me 😂 but dying alone is like, my greatest fear tbh. So I’ll say live forever.
