i’ve been kinda obsessed with watching the chainsaw man anime and examining it as an adaptation, but i think they got the pacing wrong on the last episode

immediately i’m not invested in the anime (shucks). also doesn’t help that i got impatient and reread the whole manga so now i remember the mystery behind makima. honestly, it’s such a big deal i can’t believe i forgot in the first place.

#i bet if i hadn't read ahead i would have been more into the ending #but as things stand i'm bummed they cut the 'am i human' story arc short by not including the movie theater scene #now it's gonna be interrupted by a season gap #how are they going to reintroduce denji's concerns about compassion without clunky flashbacks to old scenes?#they can't cut the movie theater it's thematically what ties the first and second halves together #instead they decided to squeeze in a s2 stinger that adds nothing to s1 and doesn't communicate anything exciting about s2
