There was a lot you didn’t know about your father’s work but there was a lot more that you wished you didn’t know. You knew he had done some less than kind things, you knew he had screwed over a lot of people to get to where he was and you knew he wasn’t as kind to the rest of the world as he was to you. You were his only child, the lovechild of an affair he had had a month before his marriage to your stepmother, the two of them never having a child together. There was no other heir, no one else for your father to smother in gifts and shiny things. Everything your father had would be passed onto you one day, every penny, every partnership, every secret bank account.

You had tried to convince your father to let you get a job, save up your own money and have some independence but you were met with resistance, with another laugh and kiss to the head. “Why would you want to do that,” he’d asked, “why would you want to work when you can live in luxury?” You had learned a few things from the man though, knowing how to hide a bank account, how to transfer money into it without him knowing. Half of every allowance he gave you was put into it, in case you ever had an emergency. Your relationship with your stepmother was nonexistent but your relationship with your father was fragile and you knew one day it would snap and you would be on your own.

It was easy to see he was attempting to make it up to you by throwing presents in your direction. He was never around, he never had been. He stayed home on the weekends, always on his phone, talking in hushed whispers, but the other five days, he was a stranger. No calls, no texts, not even a damn email. It seemed like the only time he cared about you was when he wanted to further his business or when he wanted to give you yet another shiny thing in hopes you would continue letting him completely control your life. He decided what classes you took, pushing you in the direction of majoring in business. He decided what you wore, where you went and with who. You played along with it all until the day of your birthday.

As per usual of your father, a much too grand birthday party was thrown, people you didn’t know filling the room. Most people there had some sort of weapon on them, a gun, a knife, even just pepper spray, further proving you didn’t really want to know what it was your father had done in the past to get him here. More than a few of them smelled heavily of smoke, some of the younger colleagues walking around with red, dazed eyes, laughing too often and too loud. You had always attempted to hide out in the corner, normally finding the one seemingly normal person in the entire person, a boy around your age, Jimin.

You wondered how the hell he had gotten tangled up with your father with how sweet he was, despite already knowing it had been his parents that had partnered with your father, not him. He was nothing like the rest of your fathers employees, he seemed like your average twenty something year old with more money than he knew what to do with. He was oddly humble, oddly kind and oddly comforting in a world of chaos. You had met him when you were just a little kid with a missing tooth and tears in your eyes because your father had taken away your candy. Jimin had been the little boy that started making faces at you to make you laugh, the teenager that pushed your head back underneath the clouds, the man that offered you a bit of calm when you needed it most.

Which is why you were clung to him now, his arm around your waist as he told you about his recent vacation to Paris with his lover, someone he had yet to tell his parents about but someone he was getting serious about. You couldn't have been happier in that moment, seeing someone you considered to be your best friend smiling so widely, seeing just how in love he was. But of course that had to be ruined.

“I want you to meet someone.” your father interrupted, his arm replacing Jimin’s around your waist and pulling you away from as if you hadn’t been mid-conversation.

You only sighed, sending an apologetic look over your shoulder to Jimin before you were jerked to a stop in front of a man you’d never seen before.

“My love, this is Kim Seokjin. He’s your fiance.”

The man looked just as shocked by the news as you were, your eyes widening as you looked up at your father. “Uh, sir, we didn’t talk abo-”

“We’ll find a suitable arrangement for you, I promise.

If steam could come out of your ears the way it did in cartoons, you’d be boiling just about now. Your father had set up a marriage for you but not out of concern that you’d never dated anyone or even shown interest, not out of love, not because he wanted to see his only child married and happy. He did it as a business venture, as if you were some stock he could sell.

You don’t remember exactly what you said in that moment but it was something along the lines of, “I hate you! You selfish, conniving monster!” You knew every pent up emotion you’d gathered up over the years was poured out into a screaming rant, your hands pushing your father’s arm away from you. Your words were all a mystery but it was something with enough impact to get your father’s normally calm facade down, enough to make the poor man who had no idea what he was agreeing to freeze up, enough to make Jimin walk over and calmly pull you out of the room.

“Well, now you’re screwed.”

If I’m gonna reblog fics, I’m gonna do it right. In an organized and set fashion. And sure I’m a complete no one, but these fics deserve love and attention because they’re all beautiful in their own way. And hey if this fic rec catches at least one persons eye, then I’ll be satisfied.

Once again I am a no one, but I’ve actually decided to do an endless series of fic recs because they’re constantly gonna be new stories to find and share. Some fic recs could be seasonal (as in I discovered them in that season, THIS), Memorable (these fics are ones that have strongly affected me and as it says are memorable), YouNeedaCheckIt (Chaptered stories, I’m keeping up with) and masterlist (a list of fics I’ve fell in love with in particular, in a persons masterlist, or several people’s. Ah Summer, the warmest season of the year. In the northern hemisphere it is linked to vacations, the end of school, and fun. Fun in the sun. Min Yoongi: lol why is there no Yoongi. Don’t worry Yoongi is one of my three main biases (umm my bad). See it was originally Taehyung, but then that faithful day came 150309 (did I seriously fall in love with him on his birthday) in this video , I don’t know how or why, but there was some sort of shift and I saw Min Yoongi in a different light (there weren’t any english subs even). And then I slowly fell in love with Min Yoongi, for all his layers and personas. For his tsundere complex and love for armys, his ability to say what he feels but at the same time not say anything at all. Especially his passion for music and hard working mindset, even though it makes us worry a lot about him. He’s chillaxed and easy-going and isn’t afraid to stray from the crowd, he’s comfortable and confident with who he is, but there’s so much more to him under the surface. And I really admire that about him. Also for being my spirit animal ey.

But trust me he’ll be in a whole bunch of other fic recs. Trust me, it’s just bad timing, In fact I started reblogging fics more then halfway through August. And it’s either I’ve saved those Yoongi fics to read later on. They’re a chaptered fic that hasn’t been updated in a while. Or they’re meant to be on another list.

Anyway you may be wondering who that third man is, well he’s up next. You see I don’t know how this man swerved and wiggled and danced his way into my heart. I guess it slowly happened over the course of a semester and the summertime, until finally he officially sticked. The golden hyung (who I lowkey think will kill it on broadway), a man of many talents, the happy virus, our hope, our angel. But also an amazing brother (and mother) to his BTS members, who carries such a passion for his art. In fact he’s fighting Yoongi for 1st place. witch!bts🔮

the everyday jobs/lives of bts as witches but not really bc it barely mentions their powers so tbh idk what this is but i couldn’t stop thinking about it. basically just random headcanons but they just happen to be witches lol (spoiler it’s not that good)

☁️ namjoon: works at a bookstore, fixes up all the books that are old and falling apart, likes to collect classics, runs a book club, gives uni students massive discounts on their textbooks bc he feels their pain, runs a book review blog, will talk about literature and philosophy with anyone who’ll listen, feeds the stray cats that hang around out the back and heals their wounds, has a pet miniature schnauzer thats lazy and just hangs around the store, will try and go home with anyone and everyone not bc he hates namjoon, he just really likes people and doesn’t want them to leave, basically the only bookstore in town anyone goes too, “why go to Dymocks when you can go to Joon’s tho??”

☁️ seokjin: works as a waiter at a small diner, the old man who runs it had lost his touch, fixes up the food before it gets sent out, helps him make the food whenever he can, the customers love his dad jokes, mostly older people who come to the diner and he knows all their preferences (mrs kim doesn’t like her soup too salty etc.), hangs up the crayon drawings the kids leave behind on the wall behind the counter, makes the fancy cakes and pies in the disaplay case that everyone’s always impressed by, enters them into the local fair and becomes friends with all the sweet old ladies

☁️ taehyung: childcare worker, works at a daycare with lots of little kids, doesn’t use his magic much unless the kids are feeling super sick, his job has nothing to do with his power he just likes kids and wants them to be happy and healthy, ends up becomes friends with the families, his daycare ends up becoming famous locally, everyone wants their kids to go there since all the kids love him, puts on magic shows for the kids, also puts on puppet shows and comes up with loads of fun activities for them to do, does finger painting with them and just the sweetest teacher ever, doesn’t make the kids feel silly if they’re not picking up on their abc’s as fast as the other kids, gushes over how cool everyones show and tell items are

☁️ jimin: uni student, on his schools swimming team, not the fastest swimmer but he’s a super supportive team member, makes cheers for everyone, goes to all the comps even if he isn’t competing, everyone goes to him for massages or if they get injured bc of his “magic hands”, studying to be a physio-therapist, known as one of the nicest guys on campus, likes to pay for the teams dinners even tho he doesnt have much money, somehow becomes captain of the team his final year even though he’s one one of the weaker swimmers, everyone loves him, the most positive dude, after he finishes his degree they all go to his practice when they injur themselves bc his service is so good “it’s like magic”

☁️ yoongi: works part time at jb hi fi lmao, doesn’t use his magic at all really, only when young kids or elderly people bring in their broken appliances, music producerin his spare time obv, mostly a piano teacher bc the music industry is a tough nut to crack and costs hella dollas, enjoys teaching kids and seeing their smiles when they play a piece right, doesn’t get mad when kids don’t play right, just asks why they didn’t practice and if they’re not interested in playing the piano but their parents want them to he asks them what their fave songs are and then plays it for them, teaches them that instead of classical pieces, acts like he hates his job at jb hi fi but he’s employee of the month every month, knows everything about all the shit they sell, able to get all the best albums, all the teens go there to get his opinion on their faves, “i prefer their earlier stuff but i think their new music is cool too, you got good taste kid”, jb hi fi doesn’t actually fix appliances but yoongi does it anyway lol “dvd player still on the fritz, Mr Park? I’ll fix it up for you, don’t worry. free of charge!”,

☁️ hoseok: also a daycare worker, really good at cheering up the kids, puts together their end of year concert, choreographs, cuts their apples to look like cute bunnies, uses his magic to change his voice when he reads them stories, loved by all the kids and their families, kids come back to visit even after going to primary school, comes up with lots of fun activities for the kids, lots of scavenger hunts and things like that, everyone finds an item, no matter what everyone comes back with something that just happens to be on the list, the most extra teacher ever on their birthdays, buys them really pretty cakes and performs for them, would do anything to make them laugh, gets given the nickname ‘sunshine’ by the kids, “mr sunshine!! look at my drawing of a turtle!!”, “wow!! picasso who? van gogh who? you’re so talented!!”

☁️ jeongguk: uni student, volunteers at a nursing home, knows he can’t cure their illnesses because that’s just not how it works, but uses his magic to ease their arthritis, help dementia patients to remember their families when they visit, just generally make life easier for them and their families, sings their favourite songs from their youth for them, goes for walks in the garden and listens to them gossip, “wait, Lillith from room 108 said what? I though her and Gertie were on good terms!”, gets treated like their grandson, they fawn over him and ask about his studies, puts on performances for them, has his own fanclub of elderly men and women, 'volunteer’ but basically shows up whenever he wants and knows the schedule, no ones ever surprised when he walks in, knows the entry code, “what a lovely boy”, “have you got a girlfriend/boyfriend yet dear?”, “not yet mrs lee. your granddaughter is very pretty, yes. no i dont think you should set us up, but thanks for offering!”, “you’re not too stressed are you?”, “not at all, sir! *sweats thinking about finals and assignments*”
