Encantober Day 9: Time
Time. People sure were weird about it. Bruno had heard so many people lamenting how time was going by too fast or too slow. All he could do was laugh. They had no idea.
From the day he got his gift, Bruno had felt out of step with everyone else. When he had his visions, it felt like he was stepping briefly into the future. The more visions he had, the more the feeling intensified. Eventually, his clock was perpetually running faster than everyone else’s. He had one foot in the present and one in the future, and the future was pulling hard. Sometimes he worried about losing touch with the present. That’s when he would sleep more; give the world time to catch up to when he was.
But that wasn’t a real solution, was it? For one thing, his mamá got mad when he slept too much. For another, sleeping so much meant he was missing out on life. His visions already made him feel like more of an observer than participant in life. He didn’t want to exacerbate it.
As the years went by, time hurtled by faster and faster. The weird little game of hopscotch he played skipping from one bit of time to the next got wilder, his jumps more extreme. He did his best to cope, but people weren’t meant to live in more than one tense at a time.
Until he had the fateful vision. The one of Mirabel and the house, alternately cracking and fixing itself. People didn’t understand the inherent ambiguity of his visions; the future was rarely fixed until the present caught up to it and made it such. But Bruno knew people wouldn’t understand that, so he usually just gave them the most likely interpretation. He wasn’t always right. In this case, it would have been disastrous, so Bruno just described the first image to his mamá.
She took it as well as he expected her to. What he didn’t expect was the way she turned on Mirabel, and to a lesser degree, him. Seriously, had none of these people heard of the saying “don’t shoot the messenger”? And Mirabel was just a kid. Based on her appearance, this particular vision was a while away. Why was his mamá so mad at an innocent kid? Besides, Bruno wasn’t even sure it would come to pass. Uncertainty of the future and all that.
His safest course of action was to do what he did best and retreat. He hid in the walls, living in a home that was no longer home. All he had for company was his rats and whatever he could imagine in his mind.
If time moved too quickly before, now it screeched to a grinding halt. Every day was the same as before. For a while, Bruno had tried keeping up with a calendar, but eventually he lost interest. There was no point. His only indicators of the passage of time was the hustle and bustle of his other family members throughout the house. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, every day like clockwork.
Heh. Clockwork.
Maybe it wasn’t good for him to be so alone.
But what choice did he have? His stupid vision had broken the family, and he couldn’t fix it. So he had to leave, to give them a chance without Bruno and his visions ruining everything.
Days turned to weeks; months turned to years. Bruno had found ways to entertain himself. The rats brought him books sometimes. He would whisper an apology to whichever one of his family members the rats had nicked the book from, and settle in for a few hours where he didn’t have to be with his thoughts. Or he would work on his plays. He’d always said his real gift was acting, and he had a flair for drama. That was also a decent way to kill some time. Occasionally, he’d be assaulted by a vision, but he learned to tune them out. There was no point in knowing what would come to pass when he couldn’t do anything about it.
Mostly he just slept.
For years, Bruno felt like he was swimming in a sea of dulce de leche. Just…stuck, unable to free himself of his predicament. Then one day, Mirabel came and set him free. Ah, she was so grown up! A carbon copy of Julieta at her age. Bruno had missed so much. While he was thrashing about in his monotony, the world had kept going. By the looks of it, it had left him behind.
He wasn’t sure how the others felt, but for him, losing the gift was the biggest gift he could’ve asked for. Instead of feeling constantly out of sync with everyone, he experienced things the same way everyone else did, at the same time.
He helped Isabela plant seeds by hand. He found he liked the feeling of soil on his hands. As time passed, the seeds grew into fledging seedlings, then extended taller, blooming and ripening into fruit. After a decade without seeing the outdoors, it was refreshing to see plants cycle through their lifespan. More natural, certainly, than his gift bashing him across the head with glimpses of the future.
Most of his life, he’d been living in the future. During his decade of penitence, he was stuck in the past. But now? Now he was finally living in the present.
And you know what? He really liked it.

I have a new plant and mushroom obsession now, and you are my victim at this very moment. So I introduce you to two au's.
1,
Mushrigals, everything is the same except the madrigals are mushrooms.
Julieta and Mirabel are Mycena interrupta mushrooms
Luisa is a blue indigo milkcap mushroom
Isabela is a clitocybe nuba
Agustin is a Strofaria Aeruginosa
Alma is a Boletellus
Bruno is a Parrot waxcap
Pepa is an Amanita Muscaria
Felix and Camilo are plantpot dapperlings
Dolores is a red Amanita Muscaria
And lastly, Antonio is a Mycena Leaiana
Mushrigals au
The mushrigals do have gifts, the only reason they do is that an elf queen(Galadriel) Felt bad that Alma lost her husband in a war so she gave her children magical powers as something to help Alma's sadness.
Fairies, elves, plant people, orcs, humans, vampires, and werewolves live alongside each other in this world.
2,
Mirabel was given the power to create life in things such as plants, fruits, and vegetables. Her room is a bit like Antonio's and Isabela's mixed together. In the middle of her room is a little colorful cottage decorated with various flowers.
She first gave life to a little mushroom, which afterward was named Mariposa.
Tumblr media
Yes, she needs glasses like her mama(she was made with this )
For Isabela's Quince, Mirabel gave her potato people
Mirabel's plant people (plant Ninos) don't like doing work unless it's a necessity or it's fun. Otherwise, they'll get distracted and run off to go play.
Mirabel gave little plant people to Julieta to help her with cooking. The flower people and Julieta always have flour fights but the food gets made so it's not a problem...for Julieta.
The plant niños can't really talk but they can say things like mama, papa, yes, no, etc. Only small words
As a gift for Luisa's quince, Mirabel gave her a pumpkin bulldog. This "dog" is about the size of a rhino..so yeah big pumpkin dog. His name is buffy and he helps Luisa will pulling or lifting heavy stuff.
Mirabel won't allow her plant niños to be scolded by anybody, not even Alma. Whatever they did probably wasn't that bad, to begin with.
Just to add some drama to the au, Alma doesn't like how childish and messy the plant niños are. They aren't that helpful in her eyes, to her, all they do is mess everything up and distract the other madrigals from their duties.
Alma: they behave like children
Mirabel:....they are children
Mirabel can't and won't force her children to "behave" unless it's gardening time.
Mariposa is a carbon copy of her mother. She likes to sew, embroider, sing, and dance.
I call it plant life au
I'll think of more as the au develops
OMG MUSHRIGALS SO COOL❗❗❗
Also it hadn't registered in my mind that they were different aus until I read it a second time. I thought it was Mushrigals and Mirabel made little potato folks 💀💀 REGARDLESS BOTH ARE SUPER COOL❗❗
I personally really like the first one <33 fun fact I actually made a mushroom sona for art fight last year. I think I shares it on here back in like June or July, shout out to you if you find it
Shes so <33

Just want to talk about Agustín and Bruno because they probably had an epic bro relationship before Bruno left.
The biggest implication for this is the scene when Agustín finds Mirabel with the jade square. The way Agustín reacts implies that he’s also clearly familiar with Bruno’s bad reputation and knows how the rest of the family, especially Abuela, will react to the square. But there’s no evidence that he ever treated or viewed Bruno according to that bad reputation - instead, when Agustín shows up to help set the table in We Don’t Talk About Bruno, he’s the only one who doesn’t join in on the singing. He was probably one of the few people who recognized that Bruno didn’t cause bad things to happen; Bruno just happened to see a lot of bad things.
Bruno and Agustín also share a lot of similar traits. They’re both somewhat clumsy/uncoordinated, have bad things consistently happen to them (Agustín, physically; Bruno, reputation-wise), and are very caring and protective about those they love.
He felt close enough to Bruno to include himself in the triplet hug when Bruno returns. It’s possible that Bruno and Agustín spent a lot of time together, especially if Bruno hung around Julieta when he wasn’t hidden away in his vision cave and when Julieta was home.

The Miraculous Madrigals - Superhero AU
So I can’t be the only person thinking of a superhero AU for the cast of Encanto, can I? Well I’m gonna share my thoughts anyway before someone does, so if they draw them before me I can still say I thought of it XD
(P.S. Forgive me if any of the Spanish superhero names I come up with are grammatically incorrect, I am not a native speaker, blame Google Translate)
(P.S.S. And no I am not modeling them after Miraculous Ladybug, the name is for alliterative and thematic purposes only. Not that someone else can’t if they wanna!)
Los Madrigales Milagrosos
Alma/Abuela: Original founder and spearhead of the team, though not superpowered herself. After realizing her triplets had been blessed with amazing powers, she trained them to use those gifts for good. She’s like Nick Fury, organizing and egging people on, always thinks she knows what is best for the team/family (and often does) and isn’t afraid to be tough, but can be a bit shortsighted about relationship damage out of her greater desire (and fear of failing) to keep everyone safe and protect their home from evil.
Mirabel: Apprentice to Abuela. It took a lot of time for her to be accepted into that role due to Abuela’s aforementioned shortsightedness and prejudice about her not inheriting any powers, but after they reconciled their differences, Abuela recognized Mirabel’s leadership abilities. She gets to play Person In The Chair for the other kids’ smaller missions and Assistant PitC for bigger missions. Sometimes sneaks out in her own self-made suit to try and help, which gives everyone heart problems. She also makes and mends the crimefighting costumes and comes up with catchy catchphrases (which some of the team use and others try desperately to ignore).
Julieta: Mirabel’s mom stays at headquarters and helps run things. Her healing baked goods ability isn’t great for active combat, so she bakes supply reserves for the rest to take out with them on patrols. Depending on the complexity and intent she puts into a dish, it can heal greater wounds faster, so she’s always finding little ways to improve her craft. She and her husband Augustine and her sister’s husband Felix keep the homebase cleaned up, help monitor the cameras and scanners, and make sure their kids actually get proper schoolwork done between missions. Very calming and kind, excellent bedside manner, and is the first to put her foot down about sending the younger kids out on missions that are likely to be too dangerous for them. Doesn’t bother with a superhero name, prefers to help in the background and offer her services (and baked goods) to medical clinics around the city.
Pepa/Tempestad: Always saying she should retire soon, she has enough to deal with, but secretly likes the action and being able to keep an eye on her kids. (No one fights her on this because even if she WERENT a valuable member of the team, he worry and drama would keep headquarters perpetually flooded.) The others have to treat her carefully to help her control her moods and thus her powers, but ironically, this also means they have free license to tick her off when she needs to get a really powerful wind or storm going. She knows this and lets them and usually forgives the worst offenses. Her most powerful move is creating small tornados, which she can direct to sweep up enemies. Pepa’s volatile moods and subsequent weather bursts in and out of costume are also a major reason none of the Madrigals bothered trying to keep a secret identity.
Bruno/Visionario: Estranged from the team for a while, partly due to being misunderstood but also partly because he enjoyed messing with people using his visions and sometimes went too far. Fortunately the family has reconciled and he now uses his visions as a way to predict the worst threats the family may face on each patrol. The visions aren’t always clear ahead of time but often provide hints that prove useful in the moment. He comes on patrols with the team because his micro-visions help him predict enemy moves a few seconds to a few minutes early. Likes to use multiple costumes and pretend to be different heroes, so a lot of people are confused about exactly how many Miraculous Madrigals there actually are.
Isabela/Flor Fuerte: Original super name was Flor de Belleza from back when she was placed on a pedestal most of her life due to her beauty and practiced grace. She acted more as a public relations figurehead for the team, charming the townspeople and doing photo ops. A recent revelation about the true extent of her powers led to her becoming a much more active member, and she is much happier and more genuine for it. One of the most powerful of the MMs, she can cause plants of a vast variety to grow anywhere. Bigger and more complex plants require more power, but she can do a lot just by absolutely flooding enemies with tons of flowers. Her other favorite tricks are pollen-bomb plants and strangling fig vines (not actually strangling people come on), but really, her repetoire of plant-based attacks and defenses is so far only limited by her imagination.
Luisa/Piel de Diamante: Has the most powerful physical gift of the family. Her sheer strength is astonishing and beyond superhuman, as she also seems capable of keeping whatever she lifts in perfect balance without crumbling under its own weight, even when simply lifting a building off its foundations by one small corner. Also has incredible aim, can peg a moving jet out of the sky from a thousand feet below with one well-thrown chunk of concrete. Luisa/Diamante is the solid rock of the team (haha puns). She has a level head and is calm under pressure, and while she will take on whatever task Abuela or Mirabel ask of her without wuestion, she still has good judgment and can make difficult decisions. Unfortunately tends to take on too much responsibility and be too hard on herself, especially when they suffer a loss or a criminal escapes. The others are learning not to take her strength and helpfulnes for granted as much after she about had a nervous breakdown and broke the entire west wall of the county courthouse.
Dolores/La Oyenta: While her gift of super hearing doesn’t give her enhanced fighting skills, Dolores is very useful in finding people. Few criminals can hide from her super sensitive ears, and sometimes she can detect crimes in progress from a mile away even before theyve been noticed by technological channels. She tends to stay back with Tio Bruno, who has been teaching her martial arts tricks he uses in tandem with his visions. She may not have future sight, but Doleres’s amazing hearing allows her to react inhumanly fast to attacks, and she is nearly impossible to catch by surprise. La Oyenta also frequently works with disaster teams and the police to locate lost kids, people trapped in wreckage, and even kidnapping victims deep inside buildings.
Camilo/Muchos Hombre: Able to shapeshift into any person he has seen for himself, Camilo’s power has very versatile uses. In a straightforward fight, he can shift between shapes with great speed and precision, disorienting enemies as he changes height, weight, and muscle mass to counter different problems. In sneakier situations, many lairs have been strolled right into by someone apparently on the guard rotation. He greatly enjoys the confusion he causes and routinely pranks friend and foe alike by changing his “base” appearance and costume between mutiple looks. Sometimes he and Tio Bruno will wear each others’ (or the same) outfits, further confusing everyone on exactly how many Miraculous Madrigals there actually are.
Antonio/Animal Amigo: Having just recieved his gift of communicating with and directing animals (and being only 5 years old), Antonio isn’t allowed on patrols yet, although he does want to help. However, his connection with any animal in the area gives him an incredible source of information. Since gaining his abilities, he frequently report suspicous activity that the rodents, birds, and other wildlife share with him to Felix, Abuela, and Mirabel. On rare occasions (and only with his mother constantly guarding him in a thundercloud of fretting), he gets to go on farther-out trips into wilder areas where his gift is much more reliable than any other information-gathering tools the team possesses. Even his oldest sister’s hearing powers can only extend so far and discern so much through dense, noisy jungle; Antonio can learn about enemy movements many miles away through his animal network. And his safety is generally assured because even if he were to be separated from his family, every animal that senses his distress will rush to protect him. His trusty jaguar rarely leaves his side and generally makes any would-be attackers think twice about approaching the adorable little kid.
———
Is that all of them??? Did I get them all??? OKAY COOL wow that took like two hours to text XD; THAT WAS FUN. Maybe art later??? Or maybe some talented and motivated person will draw them first, in which case I only beg you not give the ladies scanty outfits, the movie does a WONDERFUL job of authentic outfits that aren’t skimpy! And you don’t fight villains in heels dangit!!! Okay I’m ranting now, it’s 1 AM and I’m ready to call this done. THANKS FOR READING!
(P.S.S.S. If you like my nonsense ramblings, I have a bunch of random stuff over here along with a few more Encanto posts. =D Enjoy!)

Why Encanto impacted me
Okay, so this is gonna be a long post. XD
Sometimes when I get deeply invested in a story I try to nitpick it to see why. Why does it move me, why do I feel so many things when I watch/play/read it?
So, I decided to do Encanto since it’s what I post the most about rn, and because it’s my current comfort movie.
This will run long and be kinda personal, so if it’s not your thing, just keep scrolling. Thank you!
Tumblr media
First thing that got me attached to the story was Mirabel. I am very similar to her in a lot of ways. Looks, mindset, personality, struggles, all of it. Watching who she was, how she acted, the things she loved, just felt like a big hug to me.
And her pulling the yarn off of her skirt before leaving her room? ME TOO I DO THAT ALL THE TIME.
Tumblr media
Another thing is that I could see my different family members in the different Madrigals. I have siblings in my family that are similar to Louisa and Isabella. And my cousin is a cosplayer so the shapeshifting thing fit. XD
When Julieta yells to Mirabel, “You have nothing to prove!” I looked over at my Mum when we watched the movie as a family. My Mum has been saying that to me for years. Word for word.
Tumblr media
MIRABEL MAKES STUFFED ANIMALS. Making plushies is one of my hobbies and when my Mum saw it she turned to me and went, "You should sew one of those."
The relationship between Mirabel and Antonio is so heartwarming to me because I teach drama to little kids and I love watching my babies shine. I love watching them get their gift.
OKAY THIS ISN’T PERSONAL TO ME BUT THE MUSIC WHEN ANTONIO GETS HIS GIFT IS EASILY ONE OF THE BEST PIECES OF FILM SCORE I’VE EVER HEARD AAAAAA.
Tumblr media
“Waiting on a Miracle.” Need I say more? Only that the line, “I can’t take another night up in my room waiting on a miracle,” KILLS ME EVERY TIME.
Also “Surface Pressure.” WHERE ARE ALL MY PEOPLE PLEASERS AT?! THIS IS OUR ANTHEM!
All of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is beautiful. I’m thankful we have a movie that shows that seeing both perspectives before judging is a really important thing.
Tumblr media
Bruno is a wonderful character.
The nervous habits, talking to himself, befriending rats, apologizing a lot, and making a lifestyle out of hiding? Yep. I think we all get that.
Sometimes we think the best option to help those around is to hide away. But that’s not true, you are valid, important, and so loved.
So HEY YOU WHO RELATES TO BRUNO TOO, YOU’RE AWESOME OKAY????? STAY FRIGGIN WEIRD AND SMILE BECAUSE WE FRIGGIN LOVE YOU.
Tumblr media
“I’m so sick of pretty, I want something true.” This line holds a lot of weight and I LOVE it.
I have a sibling who I always thought was “perfect” and “can’t do any wrong.” Do I still see them as perfect? Yes. But in a different way. As I’ve grown into an adult I’ve gotten closer to them and seen beyond what only my little kid brain could see growing up.
They are so strong and so much more funky than I thought as a kid and I am here for it.
(My computer gave up on finding gifs and is overheating uh oh)
“She only wanted to help! I don’t care what you think of me!” This LINE. UGH I LOVE IT. That moment when you’re willing to risk judgement in order to protect someone you love is such a incredible thing. That kind of love and care is so important. And I LOVE BRUNO FOR STICKING UP FOR HER. 10/10 GOOD UNCLE.
And then all of the ending was *chef’s kiss*
In conclusion,
This movie is fantastic. And I’m so happy to see the film industry tackling some deeper topics. I’m very thankful to have a movie about the importance of family, not hiding who you are, proving to yourself that you are enough, and sticking up for your loved ones.
It’s such a gift.
That’s my TedTalk my friends. Thank you for staying till the end!
Also these are my personal views and opinions, I’m not trying to start any arguments so please don't!

ALL OVER - ACTS OF LOVE: interview with director Marcus Azzini
text: Haroon Ali
“In All Over – Acts of Love I simply want to tell a beautiful love story.”
Tumblr media
It’s as if the activist has awoken in theatre director Marcus Azzini (47), as we discover on the roof terrace of the International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA). Azzini made the performance Small Town Boy, based on the eponymous gay anthem (Smalltown Boy) by Bronski Beat, together with ITA especially for the Amsterdam Pride this summer. Like the famous Eighties song, the piece is about a gay boy escaping the countryside to seek happiness in the big city. ‘It’s my first performance specifically made for the LGBTI community’, Azzini confides.
‘It’s important that we keep telling these stories’, so the Brazilian-Dutch artistic director of Toneelgroep Oostpool tells us. ‘Until we’re no longer regarded as minorities. That term alone: “minorities”. We’re clearly in search of a new vocabulary for the discussions that are playing out now. Why should it be “extraordinary” that I, a homosexual man, have a 12-year-old son? Indeed, I advocate that no one should need to “come out of the closet”. Because it implies that some shame must be overcome before the real life can begin.’
After Small Town Boy, the rehearsals for All Over – Acts of Love, a unique collaboration between Arnhem based Toneelgroep Oostpool and contemporary dance platform ICK Amsterdam got underway. This performance is about two people who fall for each other – and who happen to be men. ‘In other words, another pink theme. I’m not intent on jumping onto the barricades, but after talks with choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten and writer Hannah van Wieringen I realized that this has to become a positive piece that, for once, does not problematize gay love. It wears me out to be regarded as “different”, just for sharing a bed with men. In All Over – Acts of Love I simply want to tell a beautiful love story.
What distinguishes this romance from other love stories?
‘Superficially these are just two men in their early thirties who live in a metropolis. Soon, however, it becomes clear that they’re living in our time in which climate change is constantly breathing down our spines. How do you live with that? How does it affect them? In other words: love in a time of climate change.’
What does the title All Over – Acts of Love stand for?
‘The first bit means to say: what if it’s all over and the world is really done for? But then it also means something like being all over each other. Acts of Love refers to love as a string of actions. Love is something you do, maybe even more than something you feel. That may also touch upon the psychology of a couple who have been together for long. What does it do to you to spend a whole life with one person; what does it do to your body to lie in bed beside the same person for fifty years? It’s something we can hardly imagine anymore. I’ve been with my man for nine years now --and I find even that something special.’
Tumblr media
Will you be staying together for the rest of your lives?
‘The wish is there, at least. Matthijs (van Bergen, fashion designer – ed.) spent nine months in London last year. I found out then, that I sleep and recharge better if he’s in bed beside me. So, he’s a sort of power pack; my love charger. Isn’t it strange that my body needs his body that much? Not just for romantic reasons, but truly for the physical aspect of love.’
Are you someone who’s always in relationships?
‘As it happens, I’ve had several long-lasting relationships. The first one eleven years; then single for five years; now nine years at a stretch. Since I regard love as something you can do or make, it also becomes possible to create love in the theatre. If I play that I love you and you experience that as love even though you know I’m acting, then that’s love. You must keep seeing it as a play. If you are so merged together after all those years, then it’s nice to keep surprising each other and to ask yourself again and again: who do I want to be now? That merging and playing at love are the focus of this performance.’
How did you get involved in this project?
‘ICK approached me. I made the performance LIstEn & See (LIES) together with Ann van den Broek, in which we also brought together actors and dancers. I generally focus on the physical aspect of acting and I want to connect the brain and the body. So, I do understand why ICK came to me – and I immediately wanted to accept the challenge. That’s what set the ball rolling
I called in Theun Mosk, a scenographer I enjoy working with, and Hannah van Wieringen, who is writing the text. She always comes up with strong dialogues that are very up to date. She knows how to capture beautifully how real people talk, while rendering it just a bit more poetic.’
How did you put together the cast?
‘The piece follows the four seasons, performed by Ludwig Bindervoet and Kendrick Etmon. I chose them because they’re both powerful and inspiring actors who are fully engaged with the world and keep an open mind. There’s also a good chemistry between them. They’re two fiery men who project love, vulnerability and sex, even. The cast of dancers consists of Beatrice Cardone, Denis Bruno, Arad Inbar, Edward Lloyd, Isaiah Wilsson and Siva Canbazoglu, and others.’
Tumblr media
Wouldn’t a cross-over of the two disciplines be more exciting?
‘Dance and drama are not separate for nothing, since you need to be so damn good in either discipline. So, there’s little point in drawing them out of their comfort zones. There are actors who can move well, but they will never dance at the level of ICK. And a dancer who has to speak becomes less of a dancer because he cannot focus on his specific talent. Therefore, I don’t use the term cross-over, but see it as a meeting. I want to look at what happens when actors and dancers practise their own disciplines alongside and betwixt each other. I had this wild idea, initially, to keep the actors out of sight altogether and just let them be heard, rather like an audio play. But it’s much more exciting after all to see the bodies of the actors move in between the dancers.’
So, what role does dance play in this performance?
‘I had long discussions with Emio and Pieter about the choreography. I asked them if I could use their entire body of work to create a new dance language. Like directors often use a play by Shakespeare to do with it what they want. Well, they were a little hesitant at first, because a choreography is a work of art that has been perfected to the finest detail. Once you begin to toss around with it, it doesn’t do well. When we talked about it some more, they came up with the idea of creating a choreography together with the dancers especially for me, like a gift tied in a bow. It’s up to me to decide if I use the whole choreography or just a little piece of it. It’s still a dialogue, of course. Everything comes together in the rehearsals and then I see what works best.’
Do Pieter and Emio still have an influence on the performance, or do you keep them out?
Laughing: ‘I try to ban them as much as possible. No, not that, but they won’t meddle with it much. I do have a rehearsal director overseeing the technique of the dance movements, so that each toe is placed the way it should. It will take all parties some getting used to, but Emio, Pieter and I have fortunately known each other for years, so there’s full trust between us. And we’ve put together such a good team, so it feels like a creative playground.’
Is this cross-over – sorry: meeting – of dance and drama a new trend?
‘I don’t know. Some people are wary of cross-overs, because they think that it dilutes the arts disciplines. The performing arts are continuing to innovate, but it can be confusing to the audience sometimes. That is why I tell everyone explicitly that All Over – Acts of Love is a dance performance, so as to keep things clear.’

ALL OVER – ACTS OF LOVE
DANCE AND LANGUAGE FIND EACH OTHER IN THE SEARCH FOR LOVE
In All Over – Acts of Love, a collaboration with Toneelgroep Oostpool, dancers and actors present movements of love. Hannah van Wieringen has written dialogues in which there is exploring, thinking and feeling. Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten have created a choreography. Theatre director Marcus Azzini has brought everything together in a space designed by Theun Mosk in which bodies and language find each other without one yielding to another. Both go to great lengths in their urge for complete abandon.

Elijah’s Eternity: New Orleans - Part Eighteen
Tumblr media
Author: eternityunicorn
Genre: Romance/Drama/AU
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x OC
Warnings: Violance, Smut (*Smut chapters marked +18)
Summary: Sequel to the AU Elijah’s Eternity - Ten years have passed, a mournful Elijah has finally started to move on without his lady. In that time, he has gained a reunited family and has also found a new lady love. Yet, all is not well as danger comes for the smallest member of the Mikaelson family: Hope, and it prompts Niklaus to call upon the white goddess, drawing her back into Elijah’s life. As they reunite, can Elijah really say he’s truly moved on?
NOTE: OC and original elements are from my up and coming novel series! Masterlist link to all my fics is in my blog profile. Thanks and happy reading!
———————————————————————————————————
Six months went by quickly since Elijah and his lady went to live at the loft across the river from the French Quarter of New Orleans in Algiers. In that time, their enemies had been quiet. He hadn’t had any more visitations from dead exes. There also hadn't been much activity from Bruno; though there had been a few reports of witches being murdered for their powers in Spain and France, just as Eternity had predicted there would be.
Though she hadn’t been able to help those witches from their deaths, she immediately sent word to the Underground Agency to order them to send out soldiers to protect the covens worldwide. The superhuman agents would be able to dissuade Bruno from killing more witches, at least for a time.
This allowed Eternity to remain inactive, giving her the opportunity for some downtime with Elijah. He was grateful for it as well, happy to not spend his days in constant peril. He enjoyed spending his time with his lady, as an ordinary couple would.
They went places like to the movies or out to dinner. Sometimes they would stay inside and he would cook for them. Then they would curl up together and he would read Shakespeare to her or they would play chess or card games, of which Eternity proved to be quite skilled at both activities. Of course, they also made love frequently too, in between all the mundane human activities they enjoyed doing together.
Life was good and Elijah found himself at peace, a concept that had been elusive to him for most of his immortal life.
All the while during those wonderful months of tranquility, he planned his wedding with his bride-to-be. They talked about it almost as frequently as they made love. They had decided on a wedding in Japan, the homeland of Eternity’s family. His lady spoke of the elusive cousin he had yet to meet whom lived there - the very one that  the old man, Mr. Mitchell, had mentioned seeing once, all those years ago. She told him that her cousin could perform the ceremony, though Kaname would want to meet him first.
From there, they spoke of whom to invite. Elijah had assumed the guest list would be quite long since she was the Universal Queen. Surely there had been diplomats and councilmen that needed to attend, as was custom to how he knew royal weddings went. Yet, Eternity surprised him by saying she wanted the affair to be small and intimate with his family and hers in attendance only. It was unconventional, but Elijah wasn’t one to speak on the matter. It simply wasn’t his place.
His lady did inform him that after the wedding, they would need to meet with the other rulers in the Universal Kingdom, as to establish him as her consort. The rest of the Immortal Universe needed to know the man who would hold the second positioned authority in her kingdom to her. However, it could wait until after they were married.
Of course both their families had been informed of the upcoming nuptials. Everyone was excited and happy for them. With the Mikaelsons, congratulatory drinks had been passed around, complete with toasts to the happy couple. Elijah was unsure how Eternity’s family took the news as the announcement was sent out via telepathic message, but she told him that everyone was surprised, yet receptive to her upcoming wedding and those whom hadn’t met Elijah were excited to meet the man whom Eternity was in love with. At least, that was what she told him.
From venue to decor, they talked about their visions for the wedding - and the future as well.
One evening as they sat together at the kitchen island sharing a meal that he had cooked himself, Elijah found himself mentioning to her, “You know, my only disappointment in this union is that you and I will never be able to have children of our own. Of course I will love the ones you already have, do not misunderstand me, but it would have been wonderful to also have our own.”
Eternity didn’t seem to share in his disappointment when he spoke this truth. In fact, she grinned slyly at him, as she mysteriously said, “Who says we cannot have children together?”
Elijah gazed at her confusedly, “What do you mean? You know, vampires cannot procreate.”
She laughed lightly and looked at him as if he were ridiculous. When he frowned in displeasure at her, she quickly explained, “When I cast the spell to upgrade you and your family, it will rewrite the dark magic that flows through you all. You will no longer be bound by the natural balance rules of this world, meaning I can allow you the ability to procreate, while retaining your vampirism. I can grant the same to your siblings as well as Marcel and Sage. I’m sure Rebekah will be jumping at the chance as she’s always wanted a family.”
Elijah had been rendered speechless by what she told him. He stared at her with his mouth agape and his food momentarily forgotten. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing at first.
Then it hit him.
They could have children? They could have children!
He was out of his chair and pulling Eternity out of hers. He collected her in his arms and held her tightly to him from the elation he felt towards the information she had just given him. He pulled back with what was surely the biggest grin on his face and laid kisses all over Eternity’s face and head. He then hugged her to him again.
“If this is how happy you are finding out it’s possible,” Eternity giggled at him, “just how excited are you going to get when it actually happens?”
“I will be the happiest man ever to have lived when the day you tell me you’re carrying my child comes,” Elijah spoke softly, taking her face in his hands tenderly. “Nothing, aside from you becoming my wife, would make me happier.”
Eternity beamed at him, “Well, I am glad that you’re keen to the idea of having children.”
“Of course,” he responded eagerly. “I am like my sister in that regard. I’ve always wanted a family of my own, but I never thought it possible. So I never allowed myself to desire such, believing it would forever be out of my reach,” he kissed her lips tenderly, “but with you, my darling Eternity, everything is possible. My happiness, my hope for the future - everything lays right here with you.”
“I cannot cry, as it is a physical impossibility,” she told him, her voice trembling with emotion, “but if I could, I would be in the joy your words bring me. I am moved by them. Truly. And I very much feel the same way. I am not alive unless I am with you, my love. I never want to be anywhere you are not. I look forward to whatever the future has in store for us, including whatever children we may have.”
He kissed her again, her words moving him as well. He was truly turning into the sentimental old fool that Niklaus always claimed him to be, but he couldn’t help it. He loved this woman so completely.
“With how insatiable I find myself with you, Sweetheart,” Elijah grinned teasingly, “I think we shall have a large brood. No doubt, I shall have you in a constant barefoot and pregnant state with how much I always want you.” He paused and thought about it for a moment, before nodding, “Yes, a dozen of them, I predict.”
Eternity’s eyes widened at him and then she laughed, “Is that right? Well, we shall see, my love.”
She kissed him this time with a smile upon her lips. Then she pulled back to wind her arms around his neck as she suggested, “I think we should go out tonight. I’m thinking perhaps you can take me dancing, as a celebration of this happy time of our lives.”
“That sounds like a delightful idea, my darling,” he replied, then nodded to their half eaten meals. “We should probably finish eating first, though. Then I’ll take you to this little club I know of here in Algiers, called Saint James. I think you’ll enjoy it.”
“Agreed,” nodded Eternity.
With that, they sat and finished their respective meals quickly. All the while, they shot smiles at each other and touched affectionately on occasion.
Elijah was simply over the moon, knowing that one day, he’d be able to have children with the woman he loved more than anything. He’d finally have the family that he so desired, and quite frankly, looked forward to Rebekah learning of this gift Eternity planned on bestowing them all.
He knew with absolutely certainty that his baby sister would be as ecstatic as he was about the possibility of having a family. He could see her face light up and the tears of happiness she would surely shed upon hearing about Eternity’s gift.
As soon as they were done eating, Eternity did the clean up by magical means. A quick snap and everything was back to a tidy and organized state.
Then Elijah, whom had been dressed in his typical suit and tie ensemble, requested his lady magic him up a more casual attire. She did as he asked and conjured a simper outfit for him that consisted of dark blue jeans, a olive green long sleeved shirt, and brown dress boots.
“Thank you, Sweetheart,” he grinned at her in approval of her magical choices.
She grinned back and then changed her own clothes. She went from her typical flowing maxi dress to a short light gray sweater dress that was casual and a pair of heeled black ankle boots. Her long, ankle length hair magicked itself into a braid with little pink flower accents weaves into it. She also wore large silver hoop earrings and a silver necklace with a unicorn pendant upon it.
Elijah found her casual attire more alluring than her typical wears. Perhaps it was because she looked so ordinary. There was simply something attractive about the humanness of her appearance that he couldn’t quite explain.
Whatever it was that had him especially smitten, one thing that he knew for sure was that tonight they would be ordinary people, just and man and his woman, going out to have a good time. Nothing was more attractive than that fact.
Elijah held his hand out to Eternity upon her change of clothing and she took it without hesitation. Threading his fingers with hers, he lead her out of the loft.
The Saint James Infirmary jazz club wasn’t that far from where they lived and it was an easy walk there. The evening was warm and dry, so Elijah decided that a walk would only make the night more perfect.
The entire way he discussed baby names with Eternity, whom humored him in his excitement  toward the idea of having children. He had told her that if they had a boy, they would name their son Henrik in honor of his deceased brother. She had suggested Katerina for a girl, which had given Elijah pause. Katerina was his ex Katherine’s true name and he wasn’t sure how he felt about naming his daughter with Eternity after her.
“I know that you have a former lover named that, but I absolutely adore the name,” Eternity told him, when he gazed at her oddly as they walked on. “It is a regal name, one befit a princess, and our daughter would be exactly that.”
“Yes, but there are many other names to that effect, Sweetheart,” he said, not outright rejecting her name choice, but certainly not giving it much merit. “Arianna, for example. That is a fine name for a princess of the highest order.” He grinned at her.
“Well, keep an open mind about it, yes?” She replied.
“As my lady wishes,” he nodded.
Then after a small companionable silence, Eternity changed the subject by saying, “I want us to marry soon.”
“Oh?”
“Aye.”
“And why is that, Sweetheart?”
“Because on the night of our wedding, I wish to perform the higher order ceremony upon you and your family,” Eternity told him, just as they were arriving at the Saint James club.
They paused outside the club with Elijah turning to her.
“It is imperative that you and yours are upgraded as soon as possible,” the immortal queen explained without prompt. “It won’t be much longer before Bruno grows weary of killing witches and other Earth-based supernatural beings for power. He’ll make another strike against us sooner or later and you all need to be ready for it. So what better time to perform the ceremony then at our wedding, when two families become one.”
Elijah thought about it and didn’t see any reason to reject the idea. She certainly had a point. So long as Bruno was out there, his family was more vulnerable than they would be if Eternity preformed the higher order ceremony and upgraded them, so they could have some protection against their common enemy.
“Alright,” he agreed. “How about this? Let’s get married in three weeks. That should be enough time to get everything prepared and ready. Then at the end of the wedding, we’ll perform the other ceremony.”
Eternity smiled, “Yes, that sounds splendid.”
With the arrangement made, Elijah lead her into the club.
Everything was in full swing inside. Like with most clubs, the music was obnoxiously loud and chatter from the patrons just as much. There were bodies all over; many were on the dance floor, while others stood at the bar or at the high top tables chatting with each other. The energy was high and it was the perfect place to celebrate, especially since they were amongst the supernatural community and they didn’t have to pretend to be human.
Immediately did Eternity drag Elijah onto the dance floor, swinging her hips the the uptempo jazz beat once they were amongst the other dancers. He watched her move, admiring the carefree way she smiled at him, before he fell into step with her. He wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing the flesh of her arm as he did, before letting his hands fall to her hips as they moved to n perfect sync to the music’s rhythm.
“This reminds me of our time in Chicago, at the Blood Rose Club,” Eternity said to him, in a normal voice as his vampire hearing allowed him to hear her perfectly without her having to shout. “Though we did a different kind of dancing that night.”
At her filthy grin she gave him, Elijah found himself returning it in kind. “Oh yes, my sweet, I remember it quite well,” he replied. “With you, Sweetheart, my inhibitions are certainly nonexistent. I have no self-control where you are concerned and I’ll gladly take you anywhere, anytime, no matter where we are or who is around.”
He pulled her hips against his for emphasis, enjoying the wide eyed expression on her face from the suddenness of his movements. She smirked mischievously at him in response, before kissing him hotly in the middle of the dance floor. Her tongue invaded his mouth, tasting him throughly, which he let her do to her contentment. His desire for her rose as it always did and he found his grip on her hips tightening as she kissed him.
“Oh yes,” Elijah murmured, as he pulled back, before he really did lose control on the dance floor, “we are definitely having a large brood of children, especially if you plan to always kiss me like that, Sweetheart.”
Eternity giggled lightly and shook her head at him.
“Ah, look at the happy couple,” called a familiar voice suddenly - Kol!
Elijah and his lady both turned to see the younger Mikaelson and his witch lover, Davina Claire. It seemed he wasn’t the only one whom had the idea of a date at the jazz club. The older Original grinned at his brother, “Kol! what a pleasant surprise. It seems Mikaelsons think alike, Brother.”
“Yes, it’s good to see you, Elijah,” Kol replied. “We haven’t seen you since you announced your engagement to this lovely creature here.” He smiled charmingly at Eternity, who simply smiled back politely. “Come, Brother,” the younger Mikaelson turned back to Elijah, “let us have a drink together, while our women enjoy the music.”
Elijah looked at Eternity for approval. He didn’t want to leave her side, if she didn’t him to, but she only nodded and let him go with a parting flirtatious wink.
He smirked in return, before leaving her with Davina and following Kol to the bar. They ordered a bourbon each and leaned back against the bar top, observing their ladies as they laughed and danced together, like old friends.
Elijah found it a mix of oddity and fascination how Eternity, despite being thousands of years old looked much younger than Davina, whom was a young adult now. Her youthful exterior was something he always overlooked since he knew she was in reality much older than him. He had to wonder what he looked like to others with the almost childlike queen on his arm, when he himself looked much older - having been pushing thirty for a thousand years.
“So, when are you two going to walk down the aisle?” Kol asked him, bringing him out his wonderings.
“Ironic that you ask that, we only just decided this night to wed three weeks from now in Japan,” Elijah answered, sipping from his glass as he did. “Speaking of which, do me a favor and tell our siblings for me? I’ll have Eternity send word to Niklaus, Hayley, and Hope.”
Kol nodded, “Sure, Elijah. It will be my pleasure to play messenger.”
“Tell them that I’ll be coming by the compound in a week, too, because I have something of great importance to tell all of you,” he told his little brother. “So, remember to be there, Kol.”
“Yes, big brother,” the younger Mikaelson sighed exasperatedly. “Are there any more orders you wish to bark at me or are you quite through?”
Elijah eyed his brother with a small smile, taking another sip of bourbon. He said nothing in response.
Alternatively, he gaze returned to his lady on the dance floor. He watched her move with Davina as they wiggled about to the beat of the live band. He enjoyed the view, noticing the way Eternity would glance back at him mischievously, as if she had known he was watching all along.
“You know, you seem different around her,” Kol observed, gesturing to the ethereal beauty. “There’s a light in your eyes, brother, that I have never seen before. You certainly seem less brooding, more alive. Perhaps Eternity has done what no other has been able to and finally loosened the stick that’s been up your ass for centuries.” He smirked over his glass at him, as he drank heartily from it.
Elijah chose to ignore his smart mouthed remarks and focused on his genuine observations instead. “You are right, Kol. Eternity has changed me. I am not the same man with her,” he said with an adoring smile at his lady across the way. “In all my long existence, I have only known darkness and misery with small moments of happiness. We all have, as a matter of fact. Our brother usually being the reason for such, but my relationship wut Eternity is something he cannot ruin, despite having come close once. No, I have finally found my peace, my light - and it is all in her.” He nodded toward the dancing goddess.
“How sentimentally poetic,” his little brother replied, gazing at his own woman, “but I am happy for you. It seems we have both found our lights in our dark, dark world.”
“Yes, it would seem so.”
The two brothers fell into a companionable silence, enjoying the sights of their respective lovers having fun on the dance floor. It brought Elijah joy to see Eternity happy.
However, it seemed the light-hearted evening wasn’t meant to last. There was suddenly a terrible shift in the club’s atmosphere in the form of a sinister presence, of whom caught everyone’s attention as they were all supernatural and sensitive to the auras of dark entities.
At first, Elijah’s heart nearly stopped at the sight of the dark man that had come to call. It wasn’t possible, he thought in a fearful panic. The man looked like Loki! Yet, he knew that wasn’t right. Loki was dead, despite his recent trickery from the afterlife. So, if not the Trickster, then who was this gentleman and why did he stare at Eternity with such hostility?
Immediately, both Originals went to their lovers sides protectively, as the club came to a stand still in fear and uncertainty of this stranger who was an obvious threat. Everyone stopped to stare at him, as the man slithered closer to Eternity, who stared back unafraid and authoritatively.
“Jor,” the ethereal woman whispered the man’s name darkly.
Jor smirked maliciously, “Hello, Mother.”

@dr-cole-rp
Nia used her GPS to make her way to Cole's place. She didn't know it was possible to meet someone and just connect with them on a lot of levels. But the moment she started talking to Cole, she just felt that connection with him. It was hard not to like the guy, he was sweet and funny and she did like him.
Parking her car, she made her way to his door, carrying the groceries that she picked up for them to cook. Knocking on his door, she sighed nervously biting her bottom lip as she waited for him to answer. Wearing a form fitting black and white striped jersey dress, she added a pair of tennis shoes, allowing her to be her natural height of 5'3 and let her hair fall over her shoulders in loose curls.
Cole got along with just about everyone, but it wasn't that often that he really connected with someone. Right now the only person he really spends time with is Emma, and sometimes Lacy. It was really nice having someone else he could just be himself with and feel completely comfortable.
When he heard a knock on the door, he took a moment to put on his chef's hat and playfully open the door. "Well, don't you look nice," he said, with a laugh, as she showed off his hat.
Nia smiled seeing him. "And don't you look handsome in that hat! I gotta say I am really digging you in that. Makes me feel not so silly for bringing this." She said pulling out her "singing chef" apron. "So are you gonna let me in?"
Cole couldn't help but laugh. "I need a fun apron" he said, playfully, before stepping out of the way so she could come in. "Where are my manors?" he asked, with a light slide. "This is going to be fun."
Josie ~ Cole*Autumn*"How about this, next time I come over I will get you one for a housewarming gift?" Stepping into the house she smiled. "Oh you have no idea! Cooking with me is always fun." She held up the bags. "So you wanna cook first then give me the tour?"
"That sounds awesome, the funnier the better," he pointed out, before walking her to the kitchen so that she could put her bag down. "Nah, we should do the tour first, it's the polite thing to do," he said, before taking the bag off her arm and putting it on the counter.
Nia laughed with a nod. "I will keep that in mind. I think I already have an idea." She teased. As he took the bags she nodded. "Okay dinner can wait then, lead the way, it is your house after all."
Cole was looking forward to the apron and planned on wearing it every time he cooked, which was most nights. When she said to lead the way he took his chef hat off and grabbed a tour guide hat from his hook and put it on. "I was a tour guide in college, and I kept the hat," he confessed before actually starting the tour. "Okay, we obviously have the kitchen here.... right over here is the main living room," he said as he walked her over. "There's also a family room right downstairs here, where we have the bigger tv, pool table, foosball, and access to the backyard," he said, while walking down the stairs. "In the backyard we have the pond... the pool... and the firepit."
Nia smiled, shaking her head. "You are a man or many hats huh?" She teased as he began the tour. His home was huge, and beautiful. As he led her to the bottom floor she went to the back and headed out to see the pond. "Man I knew it was going to be a sight but this is just too good to be true." She said, staring out at the water. "Beautiful."
Cole never really wears hats outside of his home for some reason. “It’s my favorite part of the backyard, you just have to be careful because the frogs sometimes hop out of there and that’s the last thing you want to step on” he pointed out. As they walked back inside he showed her where the downstairs bathroom was. “And upstairs we have the master bedroom and bathroom, the guest room, the office and what was the craft room over here but now that Valerie is gone I need a new use for that room”
Nia took in the pond once more, enjoying the beauty and peace of it, before following him back inside. Once he showed her the craft room she frowned. "Well." She said, shrugging. "It can be a gym, a gameroom, media room. You can make it a hobby room for you. Just do whatever will make you happily forget it was hers." She leaned against the door frame. "Have you been in here since?"
Cole considered those options for a moment before nodding. “I think I’ll make it a gym, I kind of like having my games and big TV in the family room. Thanks,” he said before thinking about the last time he was in here. “No, I haven’t. It feels like another life, honestly.”
Nia nodded.  "Can't go wrong with a gym. It's a great stress reliever." And his words she sighed. "Come on." Taking his hand, she led him  to the room. "She still has a place here, time to kick her out for good." She said softly, knowing how hard that actually was. Opening the door, she walked in, still holding his hand. "I am with you on this, trust me okay?" She said looking back at him.(edited)
Cole didn’t really see why it would help to go in the room, and it certainly didn’t feel good. It was like the room didn’t have enough air in it. “Maybe I’ll just go over the door with cement and act like it never existed.”
Nia shook her head no. She sighed, pulling him further into the room and turning his face to see hers. "She hurt you, left you at the altar and you never got to say your piece. So do it now. This was her space, this was where she liked to be. So tell her off. Let it out." She said, brown eyes showing her true concern and need to help him.
Cole took a few moments to think before shaking his head. “I don’t really know what to say.... but if I could sing I would sing ‘in love with you’ from First Date the Musical. It was only on broadway for 8 months but it was great.... maybe I’ll just play it,” Cole said, before pulling his phone out. “But I can play it.”
Nia nodded encouraging him. "Hey to each his own. You do what feels right. My go too was 'Best Thing I Never Had.'" She moved to sit on the edge of the built in desk as he went to play the song. As it started, Nia looked at him, taking in his expression and the lyrics. And once the song got going her eyes opened wide and her jaw dropped. "Oh wow." Left her voice in a smirk as the song continued. She jumped up and danced around Cole wanting to bring him something more than pain in this room. "I am feeling this song!" She grabbed his hands and pulled him to her as she continued to enjoy that amazingly accurate song.
Cole couldn't help but laugh at the song. "I'm almost tempted to get singing lessons just so that I can actually sing this song. When I first heard it I'd never imagine I would end up relating to it as closely as I do now," he said, taking in just about every line of it. "I just want to fill my life with good things, you know?"
"Sing it without the lessons! Songs don't have to be sung perfectly to make you feel good. You just gotta enjoy it." She pulled out her own phone and went to her playlist looking for a fun upbeat fun song to get him out of his head about Valerie and just enjoy the moment. 'Uptown Funk' began to play and she smiled putting her phone on the table along with him. "Right now this room is all about her. Make it about you. Make new memories that are fun and funny and goofy and soon that's what this room will remind you of. So dance with me." She said, pulling him to her and began to dance.
Cole knew that she was right, and there was no real reason why he couldn't sing without being good. He never really thought he was a bad singer, but his ex was kind of snobby about music so he tended to keep his mouth shut. "Bruno Mars is one of my favorite artists, I feel like he is one of the only ones out there that just about everyone likes. There's never any drama with him in the press," he said, before giving a small laugh and starting to dance with her.
Nia laughed in agreement. "Oh yeah, love me some Bruno Mars!" She said happily that he was starting to let loose. "I have a feeling there were a lot of things you wanted to do that you just didn't do because of her. We need to change that." She pulled him closer, just enjoying the moment, enjoying one night where she got to help someone else who was hurting like she had been. "Laughter, fun they are the best medicine for this type of pain."
Cole nodded and really just enjoyed hanging out with her. He really needed to have this kind of energy around, it made him feel more like his old self again. "You're really great, you know that?" he said, before giving her a spin. "I might not be able to sing, but I can dance. I took lessons."
Nia smiled brightly. "I think you are really great too!" She said playfully as he spun her around. "I can see that. Okay Cole, show me what you got!"
Cole continued to dance with her, trying to make it as fun as possible. "Prepare to be dazzled," he said, with a small laugh.
[4:45 PM]
As the song changed to another upbeat jam she laughed, as Cole spun her around again and lifted her up off the ground, tossing her to each side. "Oh my God!" She squealed happily, this was the most fun she had had in a long time. "I got moved too, thank you very much!" She said.
[4:51 PM]
"I assumed you had some moves, you're the professional performer here after all," he said, with a playful tone. "But now's the time to show them off," he said, as he enjoyed how much fun she appeared to be having. "You make me want to go out dancing more, I haven't done anything like that since the masquerade ball."
She laughed and shrugged. "I am not even a professional, I just love what I do." she confessed as she kicked it up a notch, dancing with him. They meshed so well together it was a great feeling. "Well you should! We should. Make it like every two weeks we have to hang and go dancing. Because you my dear sir got some moves I am digging right now!"
"You are employed as a singer, so you're a professional in my book," he pointed out. When she suggested going every two weeks he gave her a light smile. "That sounds really nice, you find us a good place and we have plans."
"okay okay! I guess you are right. And I promise I will find us the best spot." After dancing for a bit longer a slow song came on and she sighed pulling him to her wrapping her arms around his neck. "I am glad I came over here, you are a lot of fun and we haven't even started cooking yet."
Cole gave a laugh when he thought about how much they strayed from their original plans. "After this song, we should definitely get to the cooking part of this," he said, playfully. "I promise it will be fun too, but I think I needed to rebrand this room the way we did, so thank you."
Nia smiled. "Okay after this song. Because I am enjoying slow dancing with you." She moved closer to him, staring at him and wondering how anyone could be so stupid. "I am glad we changed your perspective on this room. You deserve to enjoy your entire house, not just half of it."
"You're right, sometimes it's just hard because the house still feels so empty, I think that's why I go to the club a lot after work," he admitted, with a small shake of his head.
"I get that, I feel that. Why do you think I stay after hours, and show up early. I have been lonely a long time and being in the club is the first time I don't feel that way." She said swaying with him. "Is it wrong to say I like being in your arms?"
"I want to make my house feel more like a home again, maybe I should have some sort of get together... you could come, I could have Nate and whoever has on his arm that night, Emma, and Lacy... I need more guy friends," he said, with a small chuckle. "I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's nice to feel comfortable and light."
"A get together would be fun! Okay I don't think I have met Nate, Emma I know but not Lacy. Ha I used to say that about myself, that I needed more girlfriends." She nodded. "Well I do. I feel like I have known you for a long time, you just get me."
"Well, Nate is my best friend, since college and Lacy is a dancer at the club. She is a solid friend, and you know Emma," he said, casually. "Maybe you can make friends with some of my friends, and I can invite another guy somehow,"
"Well we can definitely see when you throw those who get together." She said smiling. This moment was damn near perfect though. The music, the closeness. She caught his eyes and just melted. She never made the first move, but somehow she needed too. Standing up on her tippy toes she leaned up to kiss him softly on the lips.
Cole really enjoyed spending time with her, but he didn't realize she expected more from this than them hanging out. When she leaned up to him, he pulled back a step. "I'm so sorry, I really thought that you knew that Emma and I were dating, I thought since you guys know each other," he said, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to..."
When Cole pulled back she did the same staring at him. "Oh." was all she could say. His words caused her to realize just how much she messed up. "I am so...umm." She looked away from him shaking her head. "Yeah Emma doesn't really like me much since I started at the club so I had no idea. I am so sorry. I am so...I am so sorry." She bit her bottom lip. "I know better than this, I should have known a guy like you would never fall for a girl like me. And here I am making a full of myself... I am just so sorry." She was stunned at how utterly foolish she must have looked. She walked over to the desk to grab her phone. "This is almost as embarrassing as getting dumped in front of my coworkers..." she joked to stop from tearing up. "You don't hate me do you?" She couldn't even look at him. She really thought there was a vibe.
Cole wanted nothing more than to make her feel better, but he was struggling to come up with the right words. "Please stop apologizing... I should have been more clear and I shouldn't have assumed that you knew about me and Emma," he said, shaking his head. He wanted to give her a hug but he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. "Hate you?" he asked, not sure how she could possibly think that. "Of course not, this has been one of the best days I've had in awhile, and there's nothing wrong with you. If I happened to be single we might be having a completely different conversation, but that's just not the case."
Nia was sure he was going to kick her out, tell her to leave. She turned to face him and knew he was being honest. She took a deep breath and nodded. "This has been, one of the best days for me too. And I really didn't come here to hit on you. I promise I just I read the situation very wrong." She exhaled the breath she was holding, happy that he didn't hate her. "It's just my luck, but you know I still consider myself lucky, that is if you will have me as a friend. I really do like you Cole and I still want to dance with you and cook with you. If you will have me." She was hopeful, it was true that she had never connected with someone like she did him, but maybe they were just meant to be friends and nothing more.
Cole couldn't help but give a light laugh. "Of course I want to be friends, I've had a great time and I was just hoping you weren't going to want to leave," he confessed, with a small shake of his head. "I'm sorry if I lead you on, I really didn't mean to. It's generally pretty hard for me to tell if someone's hitting on me."
Nia shook her head with a smile. "You really are hopeless aren't you? You aren't one of those cocky hot guys and that's why it sucks that someone snatched you up. You are a rare find." She sighed. "Can I hug you? I think we need to hug this out?"
"It was actually really recent, we only decided to be official a few days ago and technically it was an accident because I accidentally called her my girlfriend before we even talked about it," he confessed with a small laugh. "Yes, hugs are always encouraged," he said, before wrapping his arms around her.
"Timing, am I right?" She joked. Moving into his embrace she laid her head on his chest. "Thanks for not making this awkward."
"I would never want you to feel uncomfortable, and I really think that we can make for great friends," Cole said, lightly.
She sighed. "I mean I guess that's fine." She teased him. "Now I am so ready for this pizza."
Cole nodded, as they started to walk out of the room and down the stairs. "I love making homemade pizza," he added, with a playful tone.
Following him towards the kitchen she raised an eyebrow. "So you are gonna show me up in the kitchen? I am so here to see that."
"I have skills," he said, with a playful tone, "but this isn't a contest, it's all fun."
"Oh see now that's just rude. Bragging about all your skills knowing I can only learn about half of em." She teased back. She was relieved that they could go back to this easiness.
"Why can you only learn half of them?" he asked, with a laugh. "can you spin a basketball on your finger, because it's kind of similar."
She shook her head. "I see that hopelessness again. But no I can not do that. So you are gonna have to teach me." As they entered the kitchen she pulled everything out they needed. "Okay tell me more about you, what kind of doctor are you? What are your dreams?"
"Well, I'm hopefully a decent teacher," he said, with a small chuckle. "I am a family doctor, so I work with children, upcoming mothers, birth, for the most part," Cole added, as he helped her organize the supplies.
"That is so awesome, what made you want to become a doctor, and don't think I didn't catch you not telling me your dreams."
Cole gave a small chuckle. "Well, my parents struggled a lot growing up, so I wanted to have a career where I could help take care of them financially, so I started working towards a medical career right out of high school," he explained. "As far as dreams, I don't know, I'm a pretty simple guy. I just want a good career, a nice house and a family with my damn dog back."
Nia listened to him and smiled. "You really are a great guy, your family is very lucky to have you. Emma is too." She sighed. "You know what. Where is she living now? I say let's go get your dog. She had no right to take it so we are enforcing your law."
Cole couldn't help but shake his head. "I don't know where she is living now; when she left she took most of her stuff and her parents picked up the rest of it," he said, with a shrug. "I don't even know where to start."
"Well maybe Nia Harper attorney at Law should check it out. If you really want your dog back I will do everything I can to help you. Just say the word." She said honestly.
"Word... word... word," Cole said, with a small laugh.
"Okay then here is what's gonna happen, before I leave you give me her info and I will take care of the rest."
Cole couldn't help but give her a smile. "You're the best," he said, before starting to mix the dough.
"I am just figuring out that about me." She said with a sigh. "That I am the best." She started cutting the tomatoes and onions for the sauce. "Okay so tell me about baby Cole."
"Good, It's important that you know that about yourself," Cole said, with a light smile. When she asked about his childhood, he gave a small shrug. "There's not much to tell. My parents got together really young, so they struggled a lot. They wanted to have more than one kid, but they couldn't really afford it so they stopped after I was born."
She sighed, "Ah, only child huh? Good to know." She moved around his kitchen practically guessing where things were and happy she seemed to be right. They had similar styles which made cooking together easier. "I wasn't so lucky to be an only child.
"How many siblings do you have? You kind of seem like you'd be a middle child," he said, with a playful tone, before the dough started to rise and it was time to kneed it.
She sighed going to the stove. "Is it that obvious? Two older brothers, two younger. It's no picnic having four brothers but I know how to have a lot of fun, and no one touch me with a water gun."
Cole couldn't help but laugh before he took a break from his dough. "Maybe not with a water gun," he said, before walking over to his closet and pulling out a nerf gun. He decided to shoot now and talk later.
Nia knew he was up to something and when he shot her with the nerf gun she screamed excitedly. "Oh it's on!" She ran from him using the pot top as a shield. "Wait! Time out! I want one too!" She said laughing.
"You can't have one unless you find one," he said, with a small laugh. He continued shooting the nerf bullets, sure that she would likely check the same closet first.
"Oh I love a challenge." She ran to the closet knowing he had to have at least one more in there. Grabbing the two she saw she smiled. "Say Hello to my little friends!!" She screamed, running at him and shooting.
"That's not fair, I should have grabbed more," he said, with a laugh, as he ducked behind the house and kept shooting. "I'm pretty sure we are not going to finish the pizza."
Nia laughed. "You snooze, you lose!" She hid behind his loveseat and popped her head out. "Cole." She sang out. "Let me shoot you and then we can go back to cooking." She teased. "Plus as much as I love cooking, this is way more fun."
"There's no way I'm letting you shoot me," he said, with a laugh. "I know it's polite to let the lady win, but that would be just too easy."
"Oh you better not let me win. I enjoy kicking a man's butt! Girls run the world after all." She moved to the end of the loveseat to get a better view of where he was. "Cole...I'm gonna get you." She sang out playfully.
Cole moved along the back of the couch and turned the closet door so that he could move behind it. "Girls may run the world but I have a home base advantage."
She smiled hearing where he came from. "Oh I know, I am gonna have to come over often so I can get the advantage. Better yet next time we do this at my place." She would definitely have an advantage there with all her hiding spots.
"Then I'll just have to win by skill," he said, getting a few shots in. "I am the nerf battle champion of this region."
She waited for her opening and after he shot her she aimed and shot him in the neck. "That is because I just moved here baby!"
"Damn," he said, with a laugh. "You went in for the kill."
“Dobby never meant to kill. He only meant to maim, or seriously injure.” She said laughing wondering if he would get the reference.
Cole couldn't help but laugh. "Well, Dobby is a free elf, I suppose you can do whatever you want."
She loved the fact he got that reference and didn't look at her like she was crazy. She threw her hair into a messy bun and checked around his living room. "I got something for you." She said moving along the floor and trying to find him.
"If I learned anything from Moana, it's that when a girl puts her hair up in a bun she meant business," he joked, playfully.
She laughed, "Then you learned right. Care to surrender now?" She said before she started singing 'How far I'll go.' and shooting at him.
“That’s cheating, that’s one of my favorite songs” he said 285) a playful tone before moving behind the recliner. “Plus, if Moana gave up her island would be destroyed right now”
Nia smiled. "I thought we established I was Moana in this scenario!"
Cole shook his head, “Except I can’t pull off Maui because I only have one tattoo, I don’t have nearly the amount of confidence he does, and I never would have left Moana alone in the middle of the ocean like that. Very selfish.”
She shrugged. "You could always be Hay-hay!" She teased.
“Rude, I have a Doctorate, I should at least be Pua” he joked, lightly.
Nia snorted. "Nope, I think Hay-hay suits you!" She teased him.
“But he eats a rock... and that’s when he can find it” he said, with a fake angry tone. “I will revoke your Moana title and give you the least Interesting princess I can think of.”
"And here I was gonna let you be the beast! NO BEAST FOR YOU!" She laughed then stopped her movement's. "Wait who is the least interesting?"
“Damn I like the beast, but I don’t really have a temper so I’m not sure I can pull him off,” he said with a small laugh. “Aurora by far.”
"Hmmmm I dunno, I think if pushed you could be a beast like..." she nodded. "Okay I agree Aurora sucks, she literally sleeps the whole movie." She moved closer to where he was and prepared to pounce, waiting for her opening.
Cole moved under the lounge chair, shooting at her feet. “That’s why the only princess I had a crush on as a kid was Belle... wait scratch that, Ariel was up there too... and Jasmine had such an attitude it was great. Although the little mermaid live action hasn’t come out yet, the other two are the only live action princesses that lived up to expectations.”
Nia shifted in her stance the moment he shot her, he gave his position. "You do seem like a Belle lover...that's why I stand by Beast. That's your Disney spirit!" She teased. "But no I loved Ariel and Belle, I really was not into Cinderella though.. But Tiana and Mulan were my shero's! I can sing just about every princess song."
“The princesses are great, but by the time Tiana came out I was a little old to have cartoon crushes,” he said, with a playful laugh. “Mulan was awesome, though, 10/10 a girl worth fighting for.”
"I don't believe that! I will admit that I watch Anime and I still have cartoon crushes thank you very much!" She laughed. "I mean it's more of a oooo he is drawn so cute but still." But seriously though Cole we have much to discuss. So...Let's get down to business to defeat the Hans!" She sang as she fired off four shots at him.
Cole rolled out from his spot while she was shooting, still getting hit a few times. “I mean, Girls can also get away with things longer than guys can. It gets creepy for guys but still cute for girls,” he pointed out.
The further the night progressed the more Nia realized that she hadn't had this much fun in such a long time. Grabbing some ammo from the floor she restocked just to be safe and eyed his position. She smirked. "Hey can we all pause? I gotta go to the bathroom." she lied. She was ready for an ambush.
“I feel like I can’t trust you, but I can’t exactly say no,” he said, with a small laugh. “It’s the second door on the right,” he said, before moving back behind the couch.
"Uh uh see I can't trust you while you are hiding, we both stand on three."
“Fine....” he said, before reloading his gun. “Three....two.....”
She got on her knees, holding both guns at the ready. She swallowed hard as he counted and when he got to three she waited to make sure he stood before standing herself and firing off as many shots as she could .
Cole stood up, with his gun prepared just in case. He didn’t start shooting until she did. “You’re officially never allowed to call a timeout,” he said, with a laugh, as he continued shooting until he ran out of bullets.
She laughed as they both came up empty. "I mean I had to take my shot!" She sat down on his couch and laughed. "We have to have a water fight next time "
“Remind me to remove any of the delicate stuff before we do that,” he said, with a playful tone. “Everything else will dry,” he added, before picking up a bullet and just throwing it at her with his hand, “I win”
She laughed. "We will schedule it in advance." He tossed a bullet at her and she laughed. "Cheater! You are just lucky I didn't pounce, you wouldn’t be so smug i have thighs of steel!"
Cole rolled his eyes playfully. “I could lift you dancing and I could lift you pouncing,” he pointed out.
She raised an eyebrow. "I let you lift me. You would be crying uncle within 30 seconds."
“I don’t think so,” he said, with a chuckle. “I think you underestimate these arms,” he added, with a playful tone.
She smirked, taking him in. Damn Emma was lucky as hell cause in that moment Nia just wanted to be wrapped in his arms. Shaking it off as if he didn't affect her, she didn't say a word, she let him stay in his moment before she pounced knocking him onto his couch backwards, once there she straddled him locking both her thighs against his and then her ankles around each other.
“Rude” he said, with a laugh, “I can’t punch a girl, it’s against my moral code, but I can easily get out of this,” he said before taking a quick moment to tickle her before she could see it coming.
"You thought about punching? So rude!" When he tickled her she burst out laughing but not releasing her hold, she tried to stop his hands but to no avail which just made her squirm on top of him.
“Obviously I wasn’t going to punch you, but that’s some sexist nonsense,” he pointed out, with a laugh. Once she was squirming, he was able to pick her up and swap positions. “I grew up in a pretty rough neighborhood, so I had to develop some skills,” he pointed out, before letting her go. “Now we need to finish that pizza before my dough sinks,” he laughed.
Nia wouldn't lie, when he lifted her, she let go out of pure shock and was glad she did cause that was the sexiest thing that ever happened to her. She laughed with him but on the inside knew this friendship was gonna be the death of her. "Yeah, uh lets go."
Cole grabbed her hand to lift her up off the couch. “At least we have been working up an appetite,” he pointed out, as they walked back to the kitchen.
Clueless, that man really was absolutely, painfully clueless as too the effect he had on her. Taking his hand she nodded. "Yes we did." It was all she could manage to say, she would definitely need to pray on this cause despite being attracted to him. She really truly, genuinely liked being around him.

JOÃO VICENTE DE CASTRO, CIS MALE, HE/HIM — have you met william rafael carvalho da fonseca yet ? the thirty one year old is known for being both enthusiastic and creative, but also very confrontational and reckless. born in são paulo, brazil, liam now lives in southwark, as a reporter.
tw: emotional abuse, substance abuse
R A N D O M   F A C T S + H I S T O R Y ; ;
hates figures of authority
liam does shit just because he thinks it’s funny to aggravate people
he will fight anyone and anything at anytime
besides that tho he is really fun guy and most of the time he’ll just try to be nice and have fun with people and make jokes.
he is the kind of person that takes jokes way too far
would 100% fill your house with balloons for a prank
can play the guitar really well but only really plays wonderwall cause he knows people hate it
his family is really rich. he works and he does his own thing totally unrelated to the family business but he highkey lives knowing that if he ever needs anything he can just call up his parents and it will get done.
he lives in an apartment that his mother bought him as a birthday gift.
his father is from brazil and his mother is from london.
he has two younger siblings a sister and a brother
he was born in brazil. when he was younger his parents were married and he stayed around there for most of his younger life
his father wasn’t the best person to be around tho he was really demanding and he was constantly belittling and putting him down bc liam failed to live up to his expectations.
liam’s mother never really did anything when his father was around but she would sometimes come to his aid after the damaged had already been done and give him stuff as if that could solve the whole issue.
his parents got divorced when he was fifteen. his mother moved back to the uk but stayed in brazil with his siblings.
after that he would go back and forth between brazil and the uk to spend time with his parents but he finished high school still in brazil.
his father wanted him to take over the family business and be someone liam most definitely wasn’t. liam still tried and he went to college for a few months but one day he got home drunk and his father started screaming @ him about how terrible of son he was so he was pretty much done. the next morning he packed up his stuff and moved in with a friend until his mother bought him a ticket to fly to the uk
after that he moved to london and he’s been in london ever since.
he pretty much went to college to become a journalist just to spite his father
he drinks way too much but he also smokes weed and he does cocaine sometimes
he legitimately cannot stand being bored or staying still for a while so he’ll figure something to entertain himself at all times even if it is extremely dangerous or downright stupid
he doesn’t have that great of a self-steem. lots of the stuff his father said still resonates with him and even tho liam avoids thinking about it most of the time he still feels bad for not becoming who his father wanted him to be, and not taking over the family business

His siblings bc i’m out here for the family drama honestly. maybe one of his siblings took over the family business and that could aspire some drama bc it could been sort of like a betrayal? or maybe something happened in brazil and they moved to london to stay with him for a while bc reasons and liam thinks he has to be the responsible bigger brother but he is him so that is a problem.
one ex bc why not? and maybe it all ended really terribly bc they were always worried about the kind of stuff he was going to pull next in order to entertain himself. maybe he did something really stupid that put his life in danger and that was how it all ended
maybe someone who goes along with all of his stuff and they both have fun and do stupid shit together but maybe idk they just keep raising the stakes and it’s the type of thing that (if no one stops them or none of them stop to be the voice of reason) they’ll end up in las vegas getting married bc they had a bet that the other wouldn’t get married with a stranger

his name is octavianus but he legit thinks that is the dumbest name in the face of existence so he’ll usually go by bruno, his middle name. the only people who know his actual name are his family or people who have seen his id. if you want to annoy him just call him ‘octavianus bruno’ and watch him go from 0 to 100 real quick
legit the best out of all my children which doesn’t say much but still
he loves the idea of love, and the idea of falling head over hills and not really thinking straight only thinking about the other person. and he thinks romantic love is the most important thing someone can have in their life.
he gets himself to fall in love with people and then jumps head first into things, and he turns thing that could be really easy and make it complicated.
he is super loyal to his friends.
he would take a bullet for any of his friends
but he is legit very self involved and self focused he thinks of himself as this great person who is out to help others but he won’t take advice from anyone and he is solely focused on his romantic life + his feelings
besides that tho he is honestly trying which is more than you can say for any of my muses
he is really optimistic and revolutionary and thinks people are supposed to protest and fight for what they think is right and then they’ll turn the world into a better place.
he thinks that if you talk it out you can solve any problem
will not fight anyone tho no matter the circumstances
he is really a huge pacifist who thinks peaceful protest is the best way to get people’s attention
he wants everyone in the world to be happy and have equal opportunities and for everything to be great
he loves art more than anything else
he is the kind of person that starts five projects at the same time and ends up not finishing any of them.
the kind of dude you’ll ask ‘what’s your opinion on cookies?’ and he’ll legit talk for an hour if you don’t stop him.
bruno was born in october 15, 1982 in Venice, Italy.
his father was originally italian, his mother from london.
he spent his early childhood with both his parents in italy, but when he turned five, his parents got divorced and he moved back to the uk. with his mother.
his father stayed back in italy.
he used to come by and visit every so often. once a year his mother sent him spent winter break or summer vacation with his father in italy.
his father used to tell him stories about how he loved his mother and about how ‘he would give her the world if he had been given a chance’ and that created an idea in bruno’s mind about how there are soulmates and perfect relationships out there and now he is constantly chasing it
but since no relationship is ever perfect his relationships will usually end bc of that
he is really extra about everything honestly especially love

Maybe an ex that he wronged, someone that love him or they loved each other but it all ended bc bruno has no idea what a real relationship is and he can’t be an adult about his relationships.
Imma be real shitty for a second here but maybe some teacher student type of thing because if this asshole would romanticize something it would be some type of star crossed love relationship
maybe some nice and pure platonic relationship maybe like someone he is teaching art to or just someone who admires art and he is trying to be a good person and he is out there giving them advice and helping them out without asking for anything in return and maybe this person can call him out of his bullshit and they can have some sort of sibling relationship

michael sucks honestly 10/10 would not recommend but i love trash so here we are
he is irredeemable, don’t @ me
swear way too much
he wears leather jackets because he thinks he is cool
he is an idiot honestly
he thinks he is funny and he laughs at his own jokes
mostly only really cares about himself and it’s not that he is trying to be an asshole or anything but he’ll legit do shit and after he already shit the bad he’ll be like ‘oh riight that was bad’
he is an asshole but lowkey does not want to be one
he was married for many years and he and his wife had a daughter and things were all fine and dandy but this asshole has no self control and he cheated on his wife a few times,,, she found out and they tried to make things work for a while but he did again and then she throw him out
he lowkey hates himself for destroying his marriage but he isn’t really doing anything to be a better person so here we are
his family used to be very poor and he worked his ass off for everything he’s ever had and he is really really proud of that
he put himself through college by working two jobs and legit the only thing he can commit to are his professional aspirations.
after college he started working for other people even tho that wasn’t really why he went to business school and he saved every single dime until he was able to open up his own business
he started his career opening up night clubs and he had three pretty successful ones when his marriage fell apart
he is really charismatic tho and he’s always trying to make people laugh and trying to entertain people. he legit finds joy and making others happy and excited and that was why he excelled at his business bc he just was constantly making sure the place he was running was a place he would love to go, and a place he knew people legit have fun in.
after his marriage fell apart tho he sold all off them and tried to retire for a while and try to work on being a better person
he couldn’t stand not having a job and not working tho so he opened up a small coffee shop bc it was supposed to be something small he knew he could handle without working as much as he used to
he can be either really chill and sit down and talk about life and give you legit good advice that he totally wouldn’t follow if he was in the same situation or really wild and be the type of person that goes ‘do you wanna break something?’ depending on who’s with him.
he’ll literally go along with any idea you have.

his ex-wife and idk my fella it could be like some one sided sort of thing where he stills loves her but he is still him aka an asshole? maybe she loves him too but she knows being with him is Not Great? imagine them trying to get back together but how can you trust someone after that type of thing and he is Legit Trying but it doesn’t seem to matter anymore? Imagine arguments and loving someone who is terrible, and throwing blame back and forth ( i put an ex connection in literally every character so far fjaslfj i’m sorry )

a heart of gold but also the type of asshole that will argue with you for hours (even if you are done with the argument) just to convince you you are wrong and he is right
honestly stale cinnamon roll been in this world too long too cynical
he went to a boarding private school when he was young, his parents honestly could not give less of shit about him. they were both really young and rich and wanted to enjoy life, so they would often ship thomas off to whatever they could find eg,: boarding school, summer camp, whatever kind of different program they would find
it wasn’t that they didn’t love him, but he would often get in the way of their plans. and they really just weren’t the best parents in town
thomas grew up always dreaming about having a real loving family like the ones in sitcoms and movies and that was his dream for most of his life
he was also highkey biggest nerd in the face of earth who loved star wars and star trek especially star trek because he fell in love with star trek the next generation and science fiction.
that was when he discovered his love for science.
he went to college and that when he met his wife and thomas was well on his way to make his dream come true
he and his wife got married, had a son, moved to his family’s house in kensington and chelsea and things were great and beautiful
things continued to advance in his career, thomas managed to work with what he wanted.
expect one day his wife and his son were both going back home after she’d picked him up from middle school and a drunk driver hit their car.
both his wife and his son died in a car accident and he highkey hasn’t been able to actually connect with anyone ever since.
he threw himself in his job after that and focused solely on his career
knows his family is gone but would never consider moving on bc that for him would be the same as forgetting them

he was born in a highkey patriotic family in austin texas
the army part of his backstory is pretty similar to frank castle’s in the comics ‘born’ which is also kinda like the punisher’s series but better bc i am petty and i don’t like the show
the first thing he did after turning eighteen was enlist himself in the army.
at first it was about doing his duty as an american and about fighting for the freedom of everybody around him
and then he just kept going back again and again bc he had become a soldier and he didn’t know what else he could do besides that
after that it was more about doing the only thing he thought he could do
cut to many years later and he became a coronel in the army
in one of the missions tho lots of shit happened most of friends died, he hadn’t believe in the war he had been fighting for a while but this time he had seen enough
i legit love writing about his time in the army so if you feel like reading extra shit for no reason here some links to old drabbles i wrote (x), (x). it’s the same info you got here but a little more in depth to specific moments
after that matteo went back home to the us but he couldn’t quite land a job for a long time. he knew how to follow orders but he was terrible at dealing with people and his formal education had pretty much stopped at the age of eighteen.
he tried for a while to get a formal job but none of them ever lasted long until one day one guy he knew from the army got him a gig as a guy’s bodyguard, unbeknownst to him he was protecting some very important guy from a gang
it took him a while to realize it, but after that, he continued to do it, bc he needed the money,
after a while matteo didn’t even mind that the money was dirty anymore
the guy started asking him to get some stuff done. sometimes beating up some people, sometimes scaring people. he used to say it was fine bc he was never really doing anything to anyone that didn’t deserve
until one the guy asked him to kill someone, that was pretty much the line for matteo. that day he acted as if he was going to get it done, and he stole some lots of the guy’s money ( at least the portion he had access to in his office ) and matt ran off to the uk to run away from all of that.
he’s been living around london now and he deals drugs every so often
and he isn’t really feeling That Great about who he is right now and he legit regrets most of life choices but he feels like there is nothing he can do at this point

Doctor Faustus: tragic hero, morality and renaissance play
Tumblr media
The surprising life and death of Doctor Faustus Christopher Marlowe was an English writer, poet and translator of the Elizabethan period. Marlowe's plays were immensely successful. He was presumed to be atheist. He was one of the respectful and compelling craftsman. The most acclaimed tribute to Marlowe was paid by Shakespeare. Shakespeare was abundantly affected by Marlowe in his work. Doctor Faustus was the first dramatised version of the Faust legend of a researcher's managing the fallen angel. Dr. Faustus as the hero and a knowledgeable who chose to offer his spirit to the demon to pick up magic.
Tumblr media
Christopher Marlowe
Doctor Faustus in summary
Tumblr media
Doctor Faustus summary Doctor Faustus, a talented German researcher at Wittenburg. He has learned everything that he can learn. These things have left him unsatisfied, so now he goes to magic. A Good Angle and an Evil Angel arrive, speaking to Faustus' decision between Christian still and the way to damnation. From two fellow researchers, Valdes and Cornelius, Faustus learns the essentials of the dark magic.  He summons the fallen angel Mephostophilis. They substance out the details of their understanding, with Mephostophilis representing Lucifer. Faustus will sell his spirit, in return for twenty-four years of power, with Mephostophilis as hireling to his each impulse. He agrees to the deal, signing it with his blood. When he does as such, the words "Homo fuge," Latin for "O man, fly," seem marked on his arm. Faustus again has misgivings, however Mephastophilis offers rich gifts on him and gives him a book of spells to learn. The Good Angel and Evil Angel arrive once more. The Good Angel guides him to repent, and the Evil Angel instructs him to stick to his underhanded ways. Lucifer, Belzebub, and Mephostophilis return, they amuse him with an event of the Seven Deadly Sins, and after that Lucifer vows to show Faustus hell.  Robin the Clown, his companion Dick, the Horse-courser and a Carter all meet. They all have been cheated or harmed by Faustus' magic. They head out to the court of the Duke to settle scores with Faustus  Faustus' twenty-four years are running out. Faustus goes through his days feasting and drinking with different students. For the enjoyment of his fellow scholars, Faustus gathers a soul to take the state of Helen of Troy. Afterward, Faustus tells his researcher companions that he is damned, and that his power came at the cost of his spirit.  As the hour draws near, Mephostophilis insults Faustus. Faustus faults Mephostophilis for his damnation. The Good and Evil Angel arrive, and the Good Angel abandons Faustus. The entryways of Hell open. As Faustus begs God and the devil for mercy, the demons drag him away. Afterward, the Scholar companions discover Faustus' body, torn to pieces.
Characters in Doctor Faustus
Tumblr media
Characters in doctor faustus Faustus: The protagonist Valdes And Cornelius: Two friends of Faustus, both magicians  Mephastophilis: A devil whom Faustus summons with his magical. Chorus:  A character who stands outside the story. Old Man: The old man urges Faustus to repent Good Angel: A spirit that urges Faustus to repent for his pact with Lucifer Evil Angel:  A spirit that serves as the counterpart to the good angel Lucifer: The prince of devils, the ruler of hell Wagner: Faustus’s servant.  Clown: A clown who becomes Wagner’s servant. Robin: an innkeeper Rafe: An ostler, and a friend of Robin  The Pope: The head of the Roman Catholic Church Emperor Charles V: The most powerful monarch in Europe Knight: A German nobleman at the emperor’s court Bruno:  A candidate for the papacy, supported by the emperor Duke Of Vanholt: A German nobleman whom Faustus visits. Martino And Frederick: Friends of Benvolio who reluctantly join his attempt to kill Faustus Horse-Courser: A horse-trader who buys a horse from Faustus The Scholars: Faustus’s colleagues at the University of Wittenberg
Doctor Faustus as a tragedy
Tumblr media
Characters in doctor faustus Dr. Faustus also represents to a Classic Elizabethan tragedy. To begin with, the tragic hero has a flaw or makes an error in judgment that prompts his own fate. It's difficult to state whether Faustus had a fatal flaw in his character or whether he was bound by a broken understanding that lead to a lethally unfortunate mistake in judgment.  Marlowe's play additionally is a model of the Elizabethan tragedy. Dr. Faustus can be framed as far as the Renaissance theory and the Elizabethan tragedy, which goes in a new direction on certain focuses from the Aristotelian tragedy. Faustus makes a mistake in judgment in making an agreement with Lucifer, which achieves his death as well as the damnation of his spirit. Dr. Faustus is introduced as a researcher of all things including holiness, the most noteworthy Renaissance academic control. At that point, Faustus is appeared as disappointed with the limitations of mankind and getting a handle on for boundless learning, which is a Biblical inference to Adam and Eve who ate the Tree of Knowledge.
Doctor Faustus as a morality play
It is significant, first to comprehend the motivation behind morality play: “This kind of play basically portrayed a fight between the powers of good and evil in the human spirit.” In Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, Faustus becomes exhausted with life, accepting he has adapted everything. So he gathers Mephistopheles to make a deal with Lucifer to offer his spirit to the devil for twenty-four years of administration from Lucifer's evil demon. He tells Mephistopheles: I charge thee wait upon me whilst I live, To do whatever Faustus shall command... (I.i.38-39)  The story keeps on depicting Faustus' interests. He learns of the "seven dangerous sins," or sins that were seen by the Catholic Church as bad behaviors that could prompt eternal damnation, including: wrath, greed, sloth (laziness), pride, lust, envy and gluttony.
Doctor Faustus as a renaissance play
Tumblr media
Doctor Faustus as a morality play This play can't be seen as exclusively being about the Renaissance age. Or maybe, Marlow presents the conflict of Renaissance values and medieval values in this play and through the person of Doctor Faustus. Faustus is definitely shown to be a man who captures the spirit of the Renaissance in his self-aggrandising and arrogant discourse. eventually announcing his assurance to acknowledge no restrictions on his learning and the power he would like to increase through his magic:  O, what a world of profit and delight, Of power, of honour, and omnipotence, Note the manner in which Faustus considers concentrate to be objective request as the best approach to picking up "profit and delight" and "omnipotence." God is displaced as humankind's long for power and desire becomes the overwhelming focus.  Are you into games and want to know how Candy Crush Saga is the top revenue game online. Do you know how many people immigrate for better life? Do you have any idea how many people get affected by unemployment everywhere?
Conclusion
This is a play in that it uses Faustus' story and his destiny to warn others for what will occur in the event that they pursue his immoral behaviors, and submit sins against God. The play in this way presents the group of spectators with an encapsulation of the Renaissance perfect in the character of Doctor Faustus. He chose to conflict with his destiny and chose to pursue his very own free choice by needing to be the master of his destiny. The choice he makes is the basis of his downfall and vanishes. This has been depicted and represented by the drama. Here are some more good reads for you. 10 Best Movies For Dog Lovers, Ranked | ScreenRant
Everyone loves a fuzzy mammal, but man’s best friend has been a part of human life for a long time. And in case you haven’t noticed, judging by all of the countless accessories and clothes, people really love their dogs. They guard us, provide guidance, comfort us, and even have empathy. There are also numerous jobs that dogs fulfill in the world. Unfortunately, their lifespan is a really tough hurdle to cope with. Many representations of pooches on film find a way to deal with that struggle. But the stories can also be funny, colorful adventures. It’s a unique bond, and a joy to watch on film. Here are the best movies for all you fellow dog-lovers!
RELATED: 10 Hilarious Things In It's Bruno! Dog Owners Found Relatable
10 Turner & Hooch
Tumblr media
This is a buddy cop movie between a tidy man and a sloppy dog. It’s a preposterous premise, and the execution is even sillier. But it’s still a fun kids movie, and why should such an audience be denied? Tom Hanks brings the same level of personality as always, and his friendship with the dog feels organic. It is very much of its time, 1989, and suffers all the same issues as other kids’ fair. Air Bud and Beethoven come to mind. But the slapstick is kid-friendly, and although the story is hammy, the film revels in it. The movie knows exactly what it wants to do, sets out to do it, and Tom Hanks brings it home.

9 Lady And The Tramp
Tumblr media
This is very breezy Disney fare, which moves very quickly and has some interesting turns. Of course, the romance between two lovers separated by class is hardly original. And the plot doesn’t stray too far from some of those familiar tropes. However, in this case, every character is a well-animated pooch, and the movie did release in 1955. It’s less dated than expected, with some surprisingly mature themes like Tramp’s promiscuous history. Still, this is decidedly on brand, predominantly focusing on a corny romance. It’s lighthearted fun, only occasionally raising the stakes, and the comedy still mostly works. It simply has a small spark of that signature Disney magic at its core, which keeps it appealing.
8 Frankenweenie
Tumblr media
Tim Burton fans were probably left dismayed after his curious, dull foray into Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows. Burton is an auteur, to be sure, but his formula doesn’t always quite work out. In this particular case, the result is a fantastic throwback to Universal Monster movies, featuring brilliant stop-motion effects. After a young boy loses his pet dog, he brings him back through magical science. The loss is surprisingly poignant, and affecting. But the film diverges into a fun schlocky b-movie, and concludes with a happy ending. Ultimately, it feels like a fantasy correction, wherein the history of lost pets can be re-written.
RELATED: Tim Burton's 10 Best Movies, According To Rotten Tomatoes
7 Bolt
Tumblr media
John Travolta turned in his best performance in years as the titular dog, for a movie with a clever premise. A dog genuinely believes he’s the character that he plays on television, and ends up lost. Sure, a dog finding his way home isn’t particularly original. But the backstory allows for some fun prodding at Hollywood, and the callousness of the industry. For those who aren’t fans of Miley Cyrus, the human protagonist may be a deterrent. But she summons a peppy personality, and the friendship with Bolt feels genuine. Ultimately, Bolt has to learn what it really means to be a dog, because he never believed he was one. So, we get to see him discover that touching truth, in a fun and kid-friendly adventure.
6 101 Dalmatians
Tumblr media
This is a very cute family movie with a conversely horrific villain, mainly due to Cruella’s foundation in truth. Plenty of the privileged commit needlessly heinous acts against animals, like the senseless hunting of elephants and the like. For sheer amusement, no less. But even more have worn fur, and that practice has been around for a very long time indeed. The rich and vicious Cruella de Vil steals a litter of puppies for their fur. The parents must promptly rescue their kids from her, before it’s too late. The animation is stunning, and the voice acting is consistently on point. Also, there’s a great balance between lighthearted fun and genuinely high stakes.
RELATED: 10 Best Disney Gifts Under $20
5 Marley & Me
Tumblr media
This was one of the earlier films that honestly deals with the tribulations, joys, and loss of a beloved dog. However, the majority of it is spent with an adorable pooch that is especially naughty. Owen Wilson offers a more reserved approach than that typical “thing” he’s known for. Jennifer Anniston is also allowed to occasionally flex some range. Marley’s antics are a lot of fun, and it’s stirring to him become a genuine family member. The story accurately reveals just how easily it is that dogs can transcend pethood. Fortunately, the tone isn’t as cheesy as one might think from the poster. The story itself also subverts expectations of the premise.
4 Alpha
Tumblr media
Just in case you missed that early episode of Cosmos, here’s an exaggerated origin of our friendship with dogs. The survival story itself is somewhat rote, and at times, the CGI is a little dodgy. However, the action is generally pretty fierce, and even the elements can feel hard-hitting at times. A young man is separated from his tribe in prehistoric times, and an injured wolf helps him return home. Of course, their relationship remains somewhat strained throughout the film, and that gradual trust is fun to watch. That development is plausibly slow, and at times, even amusing.
RELATED: The 10 Best Survival Movies Of The 2010s
3 Isle Of Dogs
Tumblr media
This is a beautiful piece of artwork, wholly unique to director Wes Anderson. It is remarkably touching, with a bizarre style and fascinating sense of humor. The title of the film is a play on words, but the story lives up to it. Set in Japan, a young boy sets out to rescue his guard dog from a dangerous quarantine zone. There’s government conspiracies, treacherous abandoned factories, and even robots. But the mythology of this universe is utterly captivating, as is the stunning stop-motion. The film doesn’t shy away from some darker moments, so it isn’t necessarily kid-friendly. But it’s certainly an impressive, addictively creative work, with an outstanding cast that grounds compelling relationships.
2 A Dog’s Journey
Tumblr media
This sequel to the 2017 hit is a somewhat different animal, laying on the coincidences without mercy. The stories are restricted almost exclusively to the one family. The protagonist pooch Bailey spends most of his time pursuing CJ, the daughter of Dennis Quaid’s character in the first installment. However, bringing back Quaid and Josh Gad was a crucial ingredient. And the family drama turns out to be more interesting than expected, in the long run. Everyone wants to hear the thoughts of their dogs, and audiences still get plenty of that. The comedy is well balanced with unexpected, but inevitable tragedy. And no matter how maudlin, the hopeful ending is truly moving for dog lovers.
1 A Dog’s Purpose
Tumblr media
This is a very curious film, quite unique in its concept of reincarnation. It couldn’t be a more appealing conceit—that our pets are reborn, and live on, perpetually. Both the protagonist, and thus the writers, spend several lifetimes seeking the titular answer. Through heartbreaking deaths, it’s pretty interesting to see the variety of relationships we share with dogs. The influence of a novel is plain, and the pacing can feel a bit rushed at times. But it’s very easy to become invested, with poignant writing about everyday life and loss. Also, there’s a stellar cast. Josh Gad is the perfect choice for the protagonist. The grand reunion at the end is genuinely touching, and although the film is shamelessly sentimental, it’s well-earned.

August 11, 2018: Vimy
We awoke this morning excited for our adventure as today was the day we were headed out of Paris to visit the Vimy War Memorial. We had booked train tickets from the Gare Nord to Arras a town approximately 20 minutes from the site. Our train was set to depart at 8:50 am and being that train travel in general and European train travel in particular was not something with which we had a lot of experience we planned to arrive at the station at 8:00 to allow time for misdirections and unforeseen consequences.
Breakfast at the hotel was decided upon and turned out to be quite a fulsome and yummy buffet that allowed for the packing of snacks which we had been advised we would need as there is not a food service at the monument itself. We then headed out via the Metro towards Gare Nord to catch our high speed train to Arras.
Our adventure started with the simple task of securing subway tickets. We descended into the St Michel station entrance to find that there was no token machine located at the entrance. We did get to witness some high drama as a couple laden with suitcases and back packs raced for a train with the female leaping the turnstile to get there in time. We decided upon a less physical more legal action of going across the street to the other entrance where we found a machine and secured six return tickets. Once on the metro we had only a few stops before we reached the train station. Dad enjoyed the experience and we made sure that both he and Mom had ample time to plan their exit at the correct stop so as to not leave anyone on the train.
We had assigned seats on the train and once it arrived and we got settled we were quickly on our way. Dad handed out Canadian flag pins to everyone to put on our shirts so that we could show our pride. The high speed trip to Arras was scheduled to take approx 50 Minutes. At one point we were traveling at speeds in excess of 300 km/h!
Our arrival at Arras was smooth and we came outside to find the taxi stand just as we found described by many in Trip Advisor. One minor hiccup however....one empty taxi and none in sight. I phoned the number provided on Trip Advisor by several different people to find that Bruno had the day off but he assured me one of his colleagues would be right round. We called each number on the taxi sign to be answered by machines. Finally, Syl went inside to ask at the coffee stand and discovered the missing taxi driver inside. The size of his Mercedes car meant that we would have to go in two shifts. Syl and I took the first and shared with a young couple from Winnipeg (who ended up being on the return train with us in the seated in front of us what a coincidence). They had spent the last several months touring Europe and were in their last couple of weeks before heading home.
We arrived at the Canadian Visitors Centre and went inside to wait for our companions. We were greeted by Sally, a student from Aurora who was spending her summer working at the Parks Canada 🇨🇦 site.
The rest of our crew arrived approximately 40 Minutes after us. We took some time to look around the Centre and then headed out to see the trenches. Julie and Andrew also took a tour of the tunnels. The rest of us did a self guided tour which included seeing the trenches, craters, sheep, and of course the monument.
The site is beautifully curated with a portion that is home to a permanent collection and another section which has a display on loan from the Canadian War Museum that includes stories of many Canadian men, women and children who were impacted by the First World War. The stories were extremely moving and beautifully presented.
Outside the ground appears to be much like what you think of a hobbit village with grass covered mounds of earth everywhere. Then you see the trenches and the signs at the extremities noting the possibility of unexplored ammunition and you are reminded of what happened here over 100 years ago.
The preserved trenches snake like a maze. The sandbags replaced by concrete replicas and the mud and wooden ladders replaced by gravel and concrete forms. They are not as deep as I imagined them to be and when Syl’s 6’ stood up inside the top 1/3 of him was exposed. We could imagine the horrible conditions that they faced living their through terrible weather and conditions. Julie and Andrew’s trip into the tunnels revealed that they too had been modified for the safety of visitors. They had made them taller for visitors to be able to move more easily through them. They were able to see the chalk walls and imagine what it must have been like.
We continued our 20 minute walk from the trenches to the Monument taking a leisurely pace and enjoying the surroundings and the enormity of the site which was gifted to Canada by the French government in thanks for their help during WWI. We saw the Vimy Sheep 🐑 who act as groundskeepers in the lands that are known to have active ammunition still in the ground. Syl and Andrew reverted to their adolescent selves when they kept hoping for one to set off an explosion with little care or concern for these wooly patriots.
We approached the monument from the back and after enjoying our snack in its shadow, walked up the long mall towards it. It is powerful in its size and structure never mind its meaning and its representation. To get to the front we climbed the steps over the monument and found ourselves seeing it from an entirely different elevation and scale.
It is hauntingly beautiful. At the grave of the unknown soldier, there were wreaths and private tributes left. All over the monument there were small crosses and poppies which stood in stark contrast to the white stone.
It was a beautiful experience to be there.
Our return trip to Arras was orchestrated with our taxi driver and again we departed in shifts. Syl and I again went first and that gave us the time to scope out the immediate area around the train station for a bank and a good restaurant for lunch. Again we turned to our faithful travel companion, Trip Advisor, for a review and so when we all reconnected it was Yummy’s that was our destination.
Yummy’s is a burger joint with pizazz. Since Andrew and I had chosen burgers the day before so we opted for salad along with Sylvin, and the others chose the burgers which they deemed delicious. The salads were very good as well! Dessert was ice cream of varying combinations which was a nice way to top off our meal.
Back on the train and set to return to Paris at 3:17 pm we settled in and enjoyed the fast forward return to the City.
At the Gare Nord Julie and Andrew decided they would walk back to the hotel as they wished to do some shopping. The rest of us continued on with our plan of taking the Metro back to St Michel. What none of us took in to account was the different vibe that Paris exudes on Saturday late afternoon. The number of people out and about was staggering, the armed militia were traveling in groups of 4 or 5 as were the police. The station was full of people moving about but also gathering in groups. The subway cars were all full and standing room only Julie and Andrew had a similar experience in their walk which Julie described as a run as they found themselves in a neighbourhood where prostitutes were soliciting and groups of unsavory looking people were loitering along the streets.
Finally, back at the hotel safely we all had a bit of a rest before we got ready for our Seine Dinner Cruise on Le Calife.
The walk to dinner was lovely and calm as we had found the location of the boat previously at Pont des Arts. People were dressed so lovely for this experience that I was wishing I had brought something a little nicer than what I was wearing.
The maître d’/host made everyone feel special when he greeted us and escorted us to our table. We were seated on the top level by the window overlooking the Louvre and given champagne to begin our evening. Julie presented mom and I with Eiffel Tower charms which was very sweet of her. We made a toast to our great adventure and settled in to an amazing meal. There were two different prix fixe menu options and Julie teased mom that we got the peasants menu while she and dad ate like royalty but since mom treated all of us we all felt very special. It was all delicious and was timed perfectly. The cruise went towards Notre Dame and beyond both of the islands to a park where people were gathered and dancing to music being played over loud speakers: the swing, tango and waltz were identified at each of the gatherings. We then turned around and traveled under Pont Marie (no escape desired this time) and around the other side of the islands. When we arrived to the Eiffel Tower we emerged from under the bridge just as the twinkling lights came on. It was magical! Back to port at 11pm, we all walked back to the hotel together.

30 Random Facts About Me
It’s been a month since the last post so I’m back. I know that no one would ever care to read about random things having to do with me but I did it anyway. Enjoy. :)
1. I designed my prom dress in my junior year in high school. It was a black cocktail dress with silver crystals detailing on the chest area. I wonder where it might have been right now. How I wish I kept it as a remembrance.
2. I don’t like anything with mint. Somehow it feels like you put toothpaste on anything with it.
3. I love cheese. A lot. Cheesecake. On chips. Anything with it. Yes, please.
4. I’m not into games. Not that I don’t like it but I guess I’d rather read a book than spend my time playing. I remember when I was young, I have Dress Up on my laptop and that’s it.  I don’t know if you’ll consider it as like a “real” game. I bet no.
5. I love spicy foods. So much. Like extreme. Wait, who doesn’t?
6. I get cold easily. No matter what the temperature is, I have to sleep with a comforter/thick blanket. My friends always tease me because even though I’m not skinny at all, the stored fats that are supposed to help me get warm isn’t working at all. Too bad.
7. I'm easily entertained. You can make me laugh so easily. And I’m an absolute crybaby, you would probably think I’m a little bit crazy.
8. I’m obsessed with fish sauce ( Patis). Everyone that knows me knew how addicted I am to it. Like I literally have it every single meal. Insane. And unhealthy. Whatever. Haha.
9. I’m not really a fan of coconut. I’m aware how healthy it is but I just don’t like it particularly when you mix it with foods.
10. I’m addicted to Instagram. More than any social media. Maybe because it is more personal and private compared to others. It is like a photo diary with fewer complications and drama than facebook.
11. I have fear of airports. My anxiety level if I have flights to catch are always incredibly high. I have once missed a flight so that serves as a painful lesson and left me with a little bit of trauma on the side. One of the worst situation I’ve ever been.
12. I’m an Overseas Filipino Worker since I was 21. I started early so I can help my family financially. So I’ve been away from home for the past nine years, absent on a lot of special occasions but that’s what you do for your loved ones.
13. I’m a green tea ( with lemon and ginseng) addict. I usually drink 4-5 mugs daily.
14. I recently enjoy biking. I used to have bike back home and just roam around our village. It was different here in Calgary though. Better in a lot of ways. care to join me?
Tumblr media
15. My bike’s name is Rusty. Yup, it has a name ladies and gents. It’s an old bike from my Kuya which is also from his friend which apparently isn’t the original owner as well. How confusing I know.
16. You will always see me with a book. It calms me more than anything. It brings me to another world. It’s magical, can’t even explain how. Give me a good book and you won’t see me for hours.
17. I’m starting to like make-ups. Ever since I started working abroad, I was exposed to make-ups and slowly started to put some bits and pieces. I’m not an expert but I really do want to learn it so badly. Youtube helps a lot btw.
18. I love Grey’s Anatomy. More than any series out there in the history of the world. I’ve seen every single episode.  I can literally spend a day-off just watching it and I can name all the characters. :)
19. I’m a worrier. I know this is not something that someone should be proud of but I’m born like that. I overthink most of the time. What can I say? It’s a character flaw but I’m working on it.
20. I’m a recycling police. Since I’m staying at home most of the time, I really do make sure that all waste are properly segregated. I think it’s amazing how many little things we can do that can make a real difference.
21. I love mugs/cups. People who know me give it as a gift because they know for sure that I’ll like it. Probably because I’m obsessed with coffee and green tea.
22. I draw. Sometimes. Nothing like the extraordinary talent but yeah somehow I can. No high expectation, please. Haha.
23. I’m a registered nurse in the Philippines. Worked in a public hospital there for two years then 5 years at Saudi Arabia.
24. I have diaries ever since high school. I kept it in a box and every time I go on vacation I still read it. It’s funny because somehow I can laugh when I realized how silly I was with all those petty writings. Up to now, I have like six journals.
25. I cook most of the time so I barely ever go out to eat, unlike other (cool) people. Unless on special occasions. I really enjoy cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. I also like to make dishes either of something I have had at somewhere or from the internet.
26. On music, I guess I like almost anything and everything except Heavy Metal. Recently I was exposed to Country Music here so I’m starting to like it too. Faves are Pink, Beyonce, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Chloe Kohanski ( The VOice), Bruno Mars and the list goes on.
27. I’m a tequila kind of girl. Wine is great but I will still choose Tequila.
28. I've watched Netflix more than I care to admit. Most of the time, I’m  torn between watching Netflix and living my life. Haha.
29. I’m a list maker. The journals that I was telling you on #24 consist of so many lists of everything that I wanted/needed to do.
30. I was naked when I was born. Kiddin. Uhm, Without my glasses, everything is blurry. One thing I literally can’t live without.

Lady Gaga postpones tour and Blac Chyna ready to rap
Just days after canceling her scheduled performance at Rock in Rio, singer Lady Gaga announced that she will be postponing the European leg of her Joanne World Tour. On Sunday night, Gaga wrote a lengthy post on her Instagram page, in which she told fans that she would be unable to fulfill her European tour commitments at this time. The “Perfect Illusion” songstress explained, “I have always been honest about my physical and mental health struggles. Searching for years to get to the bottom of them. It is complicated and difficult to explain, and we are trying to figure it out. As I get stronger and when I feel ready, I will tell my story in more depth and plan to take this on strongly so I can not only raise awareness, but also expand research for others who suffer as I do, so I can help make a difference. I use the word "suffer" not for pity, or attention, and have been disappointed to see people online suggest that I'm being dramatic, making this up, or playing the victim to get out of touring. If you knew me, you would know this couldn't be further from the truth. I'm a fighter. I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life. They are also keeping me from what I love the most in the world: performing for my fans. I am looking forward to touring again soon, but I have to be with my doctors right now so I can be strong and perform for you all for the next 60 years or more. I love you so much.” Lady Gaga, Instagram post: In her recent documentary special for Netflix (Gaga: Give Foot Two), Gaga opened up about her struggle with severe, chronic pain. It was revealed that the beauty has been dealing with fibromyalgia, which involves the increase of certain chemicals in the brain that signal pain. Feel better Gaga! Rob Kardashian has agreed to pay $20,000 a month in child support, ending a vicious custody battle with his former fiancée, Blac Chyna. As part of the agreement, Chyna dropped her domestic violence allegations against the reality TV star. The pair had announced their engagement and pregnancy in May 2016, then split a month later. A month after the baby was born in November, Kardashian wrote in an Instagram post that Chyna had taken the baby and left his home. The subsequent battle over custody included Kardashian posting “revenge porn” on social media of Chyna, posts that have since been deleted. She accused him of cyberbullying, and was granted a temporary restraining order against him. According to the agreement, the two will share custody of Dream and Kardashian will pay $20,000 a month for child support. Blac Chyna is putting her relationship with Rob Kardashian behind her and focusing on a rap career, sources tell us. “She’s met with four labels . . . [is] collaborating with very big artists, and there’s going to be big news coming soon,” an insider confirmed. “Yes, she is trying to rap and no, [it’s] horrible,” the cynical music source sniffed. “All the majors are listening, and, sadly, she will likely get a deal. If she lands it, somebody will be stupid enough to give her a seven-figure advance.” We’re told the former exotic dancer has already turned down a deal with a major label. “She wants the music to be right,” a source close to her told media outlets. In an all-new exclusive interview with Allure magazine, reality star Kim Kardashian talked candidly about the aftermath of when she was held at gunpoint while being robbed by a group of thieves in her Paris hotel room. Although Kim recounted what happened on her family’s reality show last season, the star went on to spill even more details to Allure about how she reacted and recovered from the scary situation. Kim told the publication that post-robbery, her daughter North West gave her a special present to keep her “safe” for if, and when, she returned to Paris. The star revealed, “[North] gave me a little plastic treasure box, and she put her little jewels in it – like fake little plastic jewels – and she was like, ‘Mommy, this will keep you safe when you go to Paris.’ To have something really sweet like that is more important to me than all the jewelry.” Later on in the interview, Kim explained that she and her husband Kanye West have decided to abstain from extravagant gifting. The makeup mogul said, "We don't do gifts. [Kanye and I] talk about it all the time, about not getting too much and trying to be as grounded and well-rounded as possible. I don't like presents anymore. We just did absolutely nothing [for our anniversary]. We spent two days in Santa Barbara, and we slept. You know what? I think we went to IHOP. That's what we did." You can read more of Kim’s interview in the October issue of Allure magazine. While Kevin Hart’s private life is spinning out of control due to a $10 million extortion scandal, his ex-wife, Torrei Hart, has plenty to say about the demise of their marriage. When Inside Edition asked what caused their eight-year union to end, Torrei, 39, flat-out said, “Lies and infidelity.” There’s always been a timeline issue. Torrei and Kevin married in 2003 and divorced in 2011, but Kevin’s new wife, Eniko Parrish, who is also pregnant with his third child, claims they have been together for eight years, which puts the start of their relationship in the middle of his first marriage. Kevin, 38, has openly admitted, in his stand-up routines, to cheating on Torrei. “Yes, people, I cheated. Am I ashamed of it? No, no I’m not,” he infamously said during “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain.” “Do I wish I could take it back? No, no I don’t.” Kevin’s behavior has caused current drama in his life. A woman threatened to leak sexually suggestive video of Hart with a stripper named Montia Sabbag in exchange for $10 million. On Sunday, the unidentified woman said she wanted to “expose” the star as a cheating liar. Sabbag denies having anything to do with the video. Hart jumped to Instagram to apologize for his behavior. “I made a bad error in judgment … Sending so many apologies to my wife and kids,” he said. “I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect, and I never claimed to be … I love you all.” When asked if she thinks Kevin would cheat again, Torrei said, “I don’t know. I can’t say yes, I can’t say no. All I can say is if it happened to me, it could happen to anyone.” One-time pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne has beaten superstar Beyonce at something, but she may not be totally happy with her victory - she's been named the most dangerous celebrity on the internet. Cybersecurity firm McAfee said Tuesday that Lavigne, whose last album came out in 2013, was the most likely celebrity to land users on websites that carry viruses or malware. Searches for Lavigne have a 14.5 percent chance of landing on a web page with the potential for online threats, a number that increases to 22 percent if users type her name and search for free MP3s. Bruno Mars was second in his debut on the list, followed closely behind by Carly Rae Jepsen. Zayn Malik (No. 4), Celine Dion (No. 5), Calvin Harris (No. 6), Justin Bieber (No. 7), Sean "Diddy" Combs (No. 8), Katy Perry (No. 9) and Beyonce (No. 10) rounded out the top 10 list. It's a dubious step up for Lavigne, who was ranked No. 2 in 2013. Lavigne, whose hits include "Sk8er Boi," ''Complicated" and "I'm With You," has been out of the spotlight for several years as she battles Lyme disease. McAfee had a few suggestions for why Lavigne scored so high on the 11th annual list: Interest after the artist said she's working on a new album, a feature story on her by E! Online and an internet conspiracy that she has been replaced by an impostor. Lavigne is the first female musician to take the No. 1 spot and replaced Amy Schumer, named the most dangerous celebrity on the internet in 2016. In 2015, it was Dutch trance DJ van Buuren. The survey is meant to highlight the danger of clicking on suspicious links. McAfee urges internet users to consider risks associated with searching for downloadable content. The company used its own site ratings to compile the celebrity list and used searches on Google, Bing, and Yahoo. Conservative commentator Jedediah Bila has announced her departure from ABC's "The View." Bila made the announcement on Monday's program, saying she was leaving to work on a new book and had "a lot of opportunities" to consider. Bila served as the chat panel's resident conservative. Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar both sent Bila off with kind remarks even though they noted that their opinions are often on the other side of the political spectrum. ABC has not announced a replacement for Bila, who joined the show last year. Bila was a contributor to Fox News before joining "The View." Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that heavily damaged Neko Case's 225-year-old Vermont home. Barnet firefighters were called to the indie musician's home at about 9:30 p.m. Monday. The Caledonian Record reported the fire could be seen from miles away. Case wasn't at the home when the fire happened. The caretaker helped get three dogs out of the house. There were no injuries, though a barn was destroyed. It took firefighters two hours to extinguish the blaze. The musician has been nominated for three Grammy awards as a solo artist, and she's also a member of the indie rock band The New Pornographers. The home was featured in a 2012 article in Country Living. Actor and artist Donald Glover has a lot to be proud of these days. Not only has he received notable praise for his music, in which he performs under the stage name Childish Gambino, he has also been commended for his work on the small screen. On Sunday, the 33-year-old former Community star attended the 2017 Emmy Awards, which were hosted at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Donald showed up to the event with his brother Stephen, as well as his Atlanta co-stars Lakeith Stanfield and Brian Tyree Henry. As you may know, Donald’s current TV show Atlanta has proven to be a huge hit amongst audience members and critics alike. This adoration translated to a slew of Emmy nominations this year, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Donald Glover), Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Donald Glover), Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Atlanta), and Outstanding Comedy Series (Atlanta). Donald ended up winning for both Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, which makes him the first black director to ever win an Emmy in this particular category. Atlanta is set to return for season 2 sometime in 2018. Nick Jonas is showing support for his former Disney pal, Selena Gomez. As we recently reported, Selena Gomez revealed that she got a kidney transplant a couple of months ago. The young starlet bravely took to her social media page to share the very personal story of her operation with her fans and followers. On Sunday (September 17th), Nick did an interview with the hosts over at SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio show. During this, the “Find You” singer addressed Selena’s recent announcement. The star gushed, “I didn’t [know]. I was just as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram, but wow. That’s just incredible, and the strength she’s shown through all of that is inspiring.” Nick went on to add, “I’m pumped for her. I’m happy to see she’s doing well, it seems, and she was able to get the surgery and her friend helping her is a beautiful thing. So it’s all amazing.” As you may or may not remember, Nick and Selena had a short fling back in their Disney days. In fact, Selena starred in Nick’s former band’s (Jonas Brothers) music video for their 2008 hit song “Burning Up.” However, their relationship did not last long, as they were reportedly only together for a few short months around the time that the song and music video were released. In addition to launching her cosmetics line and her latest collaboration with Puma, singer Rihanna has been busy raising some serious funds for a good cause. Over the weekend, Rihanna, along with countless other celebrities, who were in attendance, came together for the 5th annual Diamond Ball. The Diamond Ball is an event founded by Rihanna that raises money for the Clara Lionel Foundation, which aims to provide money for global education, health, and emergency response programs. The guest list was star-studded. In addition, there were several big-name performers, including DJ Calvin Harris and rapper Kendrick Lamar. Comedian Dave Chappelle hosted the event, which took place at Cipriani in New York City. During the night, Rihanna got on stage to thank her guests for coming and helping her fundraise for such a worthy cause. The star told the crowd, “Together, we are funding groundbreaking and effective global education, health, and emergency response programs. We are investing in the future and helping to improve the quality of life for young people and their families around the globe.” According to numerous media outlets, Rihanna raised over $5 million at this year’s Diamond Ball. Last week, singer Selena Gomez revealed that she underwent a kidney transplant at the beginning of this past summer. In addition to receiving ample support from her fan base, Selena’s celebrity peers have also been reaching out to the young star and offering their support. While talking with tabloid publication US Weekly at a private event this week, Selena’s former Disney co-star Demi Lovato praised Selena and her decision to share such a personal story. Demi gushed, “I think that [Selena] is a very strong woman. I’m very happy and proud of her.” Almost immediately after Selena shared the story of her operation, fellow singer Lady Gaga also offered words of encouragement to the young star. On Friday (September 15th), Gaga posted a loving tweet addressed to Selena, which read, “Prayers [and] love to [Selena Gomez]. You are a warrior princess. What an inspiration.” Lady Gaga, Twitter post: https://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/908831020446883841 Unfortunately, Gaga is facing some health problems of her own. On Thursday (September 14th), the “Born this Way” singer announced that she had to cancel her scheduled performance at Rock in Rio due to “severe pain.” On Instagram she posted a picture of an IV in her arm, with a caption that explained, “Brazil, I’m devastated that I’m not well enough to come to Rock in Rio. I would do anything [for you] but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and I promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. I’m so sorry, and I love you so much.” Lady Gaga, Instagram post: Shortly after posting to her Instagram, Gaga further elaborated on her health situation. On Twitter, she posted, “I was taken to the hospital – it’s not simply hip pain or wear [and] tear from sour. I’m in severe pain. I’m in good hands [with] the very best doctors.” Lady Gaga, Twitter post: https://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/908405525452345350 Well wishes to both Selena and Gaga!
