4. Historic Time ~ won’t you stay with me, my darling, when my walls start burning down? (x)

I have so many thoughts about Aziraphale and the Library of Alexandria (which, as a friend explained, should actually be translated to Alexandrea). I definitely think he was there when it burned. I also think it could’ve been the first time (one of the only times) Crowley touched him without thinking, and maybe one of the reasons he decided to run a bookshop! I am unwell. Aziraphale would’ve been devastated when that library burned.

I think it's very fitting for a show about a 6000 year slowburn to have us waiting 30 years for a book to screen adaptation,4 years for season 2 and probably (at least) 3 years for season 3

I had a dream where I was at a pride parade and for some reason we had a cardboard sign with a picture of David Tennant on it that said "Oh, you're GAY? David Tennant would be proud" and people were taking photos under it and stuff but then the homophobes showed up and burned David Tennant and we were all crying and shouting "THAT'S NEIL GAIMANS JOB"

(And then the dream derailed into something completely different that I barely remember)

I get why Aziraphale had a bad reaction to the kiss

I have been in Aziraphale position. No, not being in love with my bff and then having to go away for work. I've been on the receiving end of an out of nowhere "romantic kiss".

Let me tell you, IT'S NOT ROMANTIC.

It's a very shocking moment that you are VERY unprepared for. Especially when you're in an emotional state like Aziraphale.

I remember yelling "WHAT THE FUCK MAN!?" after my kiss. Mind you it's no "I forgive you" but It was still pretty bad. It was in no way romantic. Mainly confusing and awkward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to paint Crowley in a bad light. We've seen these two idiots when it comes to romance. They get everything from film and books! In those settings, a grand romantic kiss always works. Of course Crowley is going to try that for his Angel.

But, this isn't one of Crowley's film or Aziraphale books. It's real life. Aziraphale is facing a life changing decision and is very close to losing his closest friend.

Then out of nowhere 'BAM!', his brain is being overwhelmed with anxiety and the sudden kiss of his beloved Demon. An Angel that has just recently had gotten comfortable TOUCHING Crowley casually is now thrusted into a full on kiss without his consent.

And yes, Aziraphale did want Crowley to "do it again" but only after he had time to process what's happened. By then the damage had been done.

I think to fix things in S3, Aziraphale needs to initiate a proper first kiss with Crowley. And I'm talking a PROPER first kiss!

Where they're both casually talking and there's a pause in conversation (hopefully talking properly and telling each other how they really feel!) They're making eye contact, standing closer to each other, quickly glancing down at the others lips. Then with a look, Aziraphale slowly leans into Crowley's space to show that he's ready. In that moment Crowley can close the gap and they can properly kiss.

I don't know about you, but that's the most romantic way to share a first kiss. Not sudden and rushed, but slow and gentle with 6000 years of pining behind it.

Omg I don’t think I’ve ever talked about how messed up I was by this one episode of Dr.Who. Burn with me is one of the most mentally recking episodes I’d say, maybe even more than time lord victorious. To watch the Doctor completely melt under the pressure of a burning sun was something I won’t soon forget. His confession of “I’m scared, I’m really scared” being made to a woman he swore to protect. In his pain anger rises, how did he let this happen? He’s always known humans were selfish and greedy and now they were going to take his life too, how dare they?

Honestly the whole experience was like watching an AI video of your dog being shot, so really wonderful episode.

Oh my fucking God

I just read a fanfic where Icor (you know, the gold angel blood. The real essence based blood, not the red corporeal one) burns demons like consagrated ground and isn't that concept bloody genius?!

Just imagine a dying Aziraphale after being attacked by whoever, his clothes and skin drenched in icor, his essence slowly lighting out and a panicked yet trying to play it cool Crowley trying to heal his wounds

"Crowley, you're going to hurt yourself!"

"Shut up."

He puts his hands on the wounds and his hands sizzle which makes performing a miracle to try and help hurt that so much more

His hands get so raw from the pressure and being drenched in icor that his own demon blood starts mixing with Aziraphale's making it even more difficult for the miracles to work

With the little strenght he still has, Aziraphale tried to wiggle away, tries to push his hands aside, but Crowley fights him back until most the wounds are sealed and his essence isn't trembling anymore

Just then he lifts his hands away from Aziraphale, demon blood and icor running down his arms and tracing burning lines down them to the hem of his sleeves. He can't feel his hands, his body is shaking. The pain is so strong his vision is blurred, but Aziraphale isn't going to die and that's all that matters

Take what you will from this, but I absolutely love this concept

So, I've been (over)thinking...

I know all of us in the Good Omens Fandom are anxiously awaiting season 3 (or even an announcement that it's really going to happen)

We crave more of our favorite demon and angel group of the two of us.

However ...

The more days that pass, the more I find myself quite enjoying the ambiguity of our current situation. I've been reading so much fanfic that is speculating (cleverly and magnificently) about theories, what has happened, what will happen, what might be, what might not be...

And as much as I want resolution, I'm so much enjoying everyone's creativity, and it's even inspired me to start writing as well.

With more than 6,000 years of history, there's so much fodder for stories.

As happy as I'll be for season 3, I'll also feel a sense of sadness when it's over, when we actually know what happened, when the theories are proven true or debunked with certainty.

Because as much as I want it, the mystery of it all will be over, and, for me, at least, right now, the mystery is more than enough.
