Bumbleby Week Day 1: Domestic Bees
I’m so busy with everything but I really want to participate and so here we go with some oneshots!
#bumblebyweek and #bumblebyweek2022 @bumblebyweek-blog
Domestic Blees.
Waking up early was writ into Blake’s bones from her days as a travelling activist to her time as a soldier and now as a huntress. Still, just because one woke up didn’t mean they needed to rise, and she was oh so very warm and comfortable.
The bed and quilts folded around her frame snuggle and pressed against her was a living beacon of warm. The perfect mix of firm and soft, with a strong steady heartbeat that resounded with rhythmic familiarity.
“Mhmmm,” A voice familiar as her own moaned, wiggling under the sheets; the warmth beginning to pull away from her.
“Nooo,” Blake groaned, arm tightening in its python like hold the other sliding against soft, form fitting shorts to help lift the blonde and press her against Blake again.
“Blaaaake,” Yang yawned, licking her lips, “We gotta... Aaaaah... Get up...”
“Mff, no we don’t,” Blake retorted quietly, burying her face in Yang’s hair, the scent of sunflowers and sea salt an intoxicating combination to her senses.
Despite her words, Yang snuggled back against her, patting Blake’s arm, “Come on sweetheart, we need foooood.”
Blake briefly left the warmth of her pillow to nuzzles Yang’s neck, making her giggle delightfully, “That’s a better argument, how about we order breakfast in bed, hm?”
Turning to face her, Yang pecked her on the nose, “Oh, so you don’t want to see me sway and sing around the kitchen in an apron?”
Something rumbled in Blake’s throat, “Well, twist my arm, why don’t you,” Shh rolled Yang onto her, back, clambering atop the blonde as she did so.
“I can’t get up with you on top of me, ya know,” Yang said, smirking up at her.
“You’re strong, I have faith,” Blake kissed her brow, then her nose, one cheek and then the other, before resting her forehead against Yang’s.
“You know I love you right?”
“And I love you, always and forever.”
“Always and forever.”

Bumbleby Week DAY 1 - Domestic Bees
Alright let’s get started, day one of @bumblebyweek-blog with domestic bees, doing a bit of a challenge since I’ll be traveling a lot this week but wanted to do something for this 😊 (might end up as blurbs for most of the prompts but hey part of the fun). Anyway hope you’ll enjoy the story.
It was a low hum that greeted Blake when she arrived home. It was a simple place, a nice stilted house on the beach quite some distance away from Kuo Kuana. Yet it was worth it to Blake, especially when she returned from work.
The hum quickly stopped as she closed the front door and her ears picked up the approaching steps of her wife. Soon Yang's smiling face popped out from the kitchen's entrance. Her visage warm to Blake's tired eyes as Yang's aura radiated around her.
"...why is your aura active Honey?" Blake asked as her brain suddenly realized that her wife's aura was active.
"Ahahaha, oh nothing much," Yang chuckled, though Blake could hear the embarrassment in Yang's voice, plus the cute crinkle of her eyes gave Blake enough to doubt that statement.
"Honey please don't--"
"Krikish!!"
A strange cry suddenly interrupted Blake's words. A cry that came from the kitchen.
"Was…was that--"
"Nothing to worry about," Yang pressed on even her head shifted to the side to glare back into the kitchen. "Why don't you get cleaned up and I'll have dinner--"
"Crash!!" And the sound of falling metal, along with a…scuttling. Yang swore and dove back into the kitchen and Blake quickly followed after her.
"Yang what's going…on…" her voice trailed off as her eyes viewed just what was going on in their kitchen. Pots and pans were strewn about and there splayed on top of the counter was a Greater Land Lobster, easily two Zweis long, and holding a mallet threateningly at Yang in its claws. Yang meanwhile glared at the beast as she shuffled around the beast and picked up the fallen kitchenware.
"Alright listen you overgrown shrimp, my wonderful wife is back, and regardless of what you think we will have a nice dinner," Yang stated after cleaning the lobster's latest attempt to avoid its fate.
"Yang,"
"When I'm done with you, there will be enough to shell you to others and they will want to lobster you,"
"Yang," Blake chuckled as Yang turned to face her again with a smile.
"Too much?" She asked Blake, who shook her head as she made her way toward Yang. Slipping behind her oh-so-bright wife Blake wrapped her arms around Yang and pulled her back into her letting the momentum carry her backward as well. The pair’s descent was soon stopped by the counter behind them and for a moment the two enjoyed being close to each other. Still, Blake needed answers. She was used to Yang’s surprises, twenty years of this had given her the ability to process the typical madness that followed Yang and her family, but it was great to listen to her wife explain. Yang’s voice was her favorite sound, especially after a tiring day.
“No, though I’m surprised about the lobster,” Blake finally spoke her eyes now staring at the creature. It had yet to move from its spot, mallet still held threateningly at the pair.
“Ah well, I know work has been getting a bit demanding for you,” Yang started, as she knew Blake still had the tendency to burn herself out, especially when it pertained to building a better future. “So I thought about getting you a nice dinner from the sea, but nothing bit my line for the whole afternoon, and just when I thought I’d have to make a run to the markets for something when this monster decided that my wrap was something it could snip at,”
“The green one that Weiss gifted you?” Blake asked softly and Yang tried not to think too much about how Blake’s words felt so close to her ears.
“Yeah, how did you know?” she managed to ask instead.
“Cause their species are vegetarians,” Blake answered as she kissed the back of Yang’s neck before stepping out from behind her. Yang caught herself on the counter as she watched her wife make her way to the fridge. The lobster moved, tracking Blake as she moved past the animal. Opening the fridge Blake grabbed a rather large leaf from the salad bowl. The lobster’s attention, originally split between the two suddenly snapped all its eyes toward Blake. “There you just wanted something to eat,”
“Yeah my clothes,” Yang barked as she watched amazed as Blake slowly traded the leaf for the mallet.
“Only cause their blind, right you old fossil,” Blake defended the beast as she ran her hand down the back of the animal’s shell, admiring the creature's patterned armor. Being so close she noted the various notches and cracks along the blended browns and reds of its carapace. It was a survivor, something that was probably alive before she was born.
“You’re thinking about keeping this aren’t you?” Yang asked as now she slid behind Blake, in awe at her wife’s ability to calm the lobster. She had spent a better part of the day fighting the beast, trying not to damage it too much before she got it into the pot. It had earned her respect for that adventure.
“Well you did always want a pet for company when one of us was stuck here,” Blake answered as she leaned back into Yang’s chest.
“Yeah, don’t think something that I was trying to make into dinner was ever in my head,” Yang stated still trying to wrap her head around what had just happened.
“Well I might be a bit out of it, but you could also imagine Weiss’s face when she sees them,” Blake muttered, the start of a smirk appearing on her face.
“Oh that would be a great day,” Yang said as the infectious idea spread into her imagination. “Well welcome aboard Tri,” she said, and the now-named Tri swiveled their eyes from the leaf to their new owners. It had been a strange day, but if this was what it could get then it was content with the bright and the shadow.
“So pizza and soaps?” Blake pressed, as her stomach growled.
“Ha, of course, we can’t miss if Scar gets his comeuppance this time,” Yang chuckled, and the two quickly found themselves crammed on the living room couch, snuggled together for the night, with Tri now laying down at the door. Another day finished for the two together.

Chapters: 1/4
Words: 10195
Rating: M
Main Relationship: Blake Belladonna/Yang Xiao Long
Main Characters: Blake, Yang, Ruby, Weiss
Other Tags: Canon compliant but with a few changes, fluff and angst, past abuse, hurt/comfort, follows along with vol 1, but from blakes perspective
Summary:
“Yeah…” Yang’s eyes meet Blake’s gaze knowingly. “...this girl’s a lost cause.”
The words hit Blake differently. She knows that, if she let herself, she would be. That if Ruby wasn’t here, if they weren’t in a room full of people, Yang would have unwound every knot she’d tied herself to, freed her from the chains of her past, and shown her just how incredible things can really be.
Here's my post for Day 4 of the Bumbleby Week 2022! The prompt was Beacon Days. Please go check out the main blog to see all the posts @bumblebyweek-blog!

TwoSouls Chapter 15
Hey all!
I’ll put this first and at the top so anybody that just wants the chapter can get it and move on:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/28639323/chapters/70200702
But anyways... Update Stuff!
I get the sense I’m going to inadvertently make a pattern of ‘Hey look, I’m posting and doing stuff and totally going to be active again!’
Following by life hitting me over the head again and failing to keep up that promise.
That said, between Graduate School and getting married, I’d say I had some pretty good excuses!
Now then! I’m also back to writing TwoSouls as well. It’s been a few months without an update, and given I’ve gotten back into writing again (and to my surprise it’s Bumbleby Week!) it seemed like a good time to start wrapping up TwoSouls (at long last!) So, while it is a tad early for AU / Bonus day, I wanted to get this post out before life tries to overwhelm me again and I totally forget.
I do hope you enjoy the story! There’s a note at the end of the chapter but I plan on a sequel story as well to explore some other potential couples and a few other things, so that’ll be fun!
Expect the last chapter and Epilogue up soon! I won’t give an estimated time because I know I can’t be trusted!
Thanks :)

Hello guys!
So, the bee week is over and we wanted to thank everyone who participated, both as a content creators and those who supported them with likes and reblogs. In all of its ups and downs, this has been a very fun experience that we hope to do again next year (maybe after V9 👀).
But before saying our goodbyes, we wanted to assure you that we'll keep an eye open for late entries and keep reblogging them roughly for another week. After that, we'll stop checking and officially wrap the event up.
And that's about it, enjoy your bees!

Bumbleby Week Day 2: Meeting the Parents / Meeting the Family
#bumblebyweek and #bumblebyweek2022 @bumblebyweek-blog
A Bird on the Balcony
Yang’s apartment was a nice place, Blake had often thought. Small but not cramped, homey but not crowded with Knick knacks. It was an especially welcome sight after a very long night at the theater.
The door flung open as Yang sighed, “Ah, home sweet home,” flicking on a light and illuminating her cozy loungeroom and the adjoining kitchen.
“Mhm,” Blake murmured, kicking off her shoes, “I really didn’t expect that encore performance.”
“Right? I mean it was goo...” Yang let out a groan as she pushed her hands against her back, the lavender dress hugging her frame glinting subtly in the lights. “... But with those seat, an early end would have been merciful.”
“Maybe they’ll book a better theater next time,” Blake mused, reaching up and gently uncoiling Yang’s hair from the silver claps that had kept it bound in a bun all night.
The golden locks washed down her back like streams of sunlight, as the woman turned to smile at her. “Well, we’ll have to see, for now, make yourself comfortable.” She cradled Blake’s chin and kissed her lips, a breathy whisper on her lips, “I’m going to hit the shower, you can join me whenever.”
Blake swallowed, almost reaching out to grasp her girlfriends hips but no, not yet, Yang had made her conditions clear, and Blake was not about to miss her chance by being over eager.
So she just watched the blonde go, lazily pulling at her tie as Yang winked at her and disappeared into the bathroom, the sound of water beginning to run making her ears twitch.
Blake was drawn from her musings by a snort, “Well, you must be oh so special.”
Spinning around she braced for an attack and froze at the sight before her.
It was a woman, wild dark hair and crimson eyes, in red and black kimono like garb. She had a sword hanging from her hip and her face was the near spitting image of Yang’s give or take twenty years.
‘Well, save for the sneer,’ Blake mused, looking over the woman on the balcony.
Coming out of her stance, she rested her hands on her hips, “And you must be Raven Branwen.”
That stopped the woman short, for but a moment, “I see my reputation precedes me, or that my Yang has been letting her tongue get loose.”
Blake shrugged in mock humility, “Yang told me herself, its like you said I guess, I’m special.”
“Cocky too it seems,” Raven growled, pushing off from the balcony and striding inside, trying to loom over Blake, but she was an inch shorted than her daughter, so the effect was somewhat lessened. Though, in all fairness her wild mane made her look bigger than she was.
“I don’t recall her inviting you in,” Blake said levelly.
“I don’t need an invitation to check on my daughter.”
“Well as you saw and heard, she’s fine, we’re fine.”
That made the woman smirk, viciously, “Oh so I’ve seen, she’s never been so forward before, and if one seemed like that might get that close I’d usually chase them off. Can’t be too careful now can I?” she intoned, striding around Blake in a tight circle, hand on her sword.
“Yang’s a very mature woman, she can take care of herself I think.”
Raven snorted, “She’s too trusting if she’d welcome someone as bloodstained as you into her home.” The woman leaned in at her back, “Leave, you have no place her, soldier of the White Fang.”
Blake glanced over her shoulder, flashing her fangs she smiled, “Actually, we’ve discussed that at length. Its like I said, your daughter is very mature, and has been a big help to me in these past months.”
Raven’s jaw made to open and then snapped shut, her grip tightened on her sword-
When suddenly a towel impacted with the side of her head, nearly sending her to the ground as Yang shrieked.
“What are you doing here again!?” Stomping out of the shower, her hair freed from the towel she’d evidently been covering it with, and a big, fluffy red towel protecting her modesty.
“Daughter I-”
“I told you to stop pulling this kind of junk,” Yang interrupted snatching up a broom leaning against the wall as she marched into the room. “Don't make me use this!”
“Yang- Ow! Stop it,- ck, Daughter- Yang!” Raven scrambled around the living room and raced for the balcony, her foot slammed against the railing as she leapt from the edge.
“Wait!” Blake cried out, only to stagger to a stop as Raven’s body twisted and turned until it was a literal Raven.
The bird shouted in a rough voice, “You're making a-”
She was cut off by Yang slamming the sliding door shut and pulling the curtains closed.
“Honestly, that woman!” She stomped her foot and roughly ran her hands through her hair. “She is a menace!” Turning to face her, Yang cradled her cheek, “She didn’t spook you did she?”
Blake licked her lips, mouth popping as she tried to process what she’d just seen and came up short. “She surprised me, both of you did, but I’ve not been given a real fright if that's what you’re worried about.”
Yang met their gaze levelly, “And you don’t have any questions?”
Blake shrugged, “No more than you about me, I can wait.”
Yang smiled, her eyes shining, “Good answer, gorgeous,” and pulled her into a kiss, welcoming it as Blake’s arms snaked around her waste and pulled her close.
