♡ perv!bruno madrigal x reader
♡ a/n: rewatched encanto with the family last night and thoughts were being thunk 😗👉🏽👈🏽 love me some voyeur bruno. (also, reader kinda knows he's watching them)
Tumblr media
“Bruno,” you whimpered, as you rubbed yourself harder against your soiled pillow; your hips gyrated until the bed shook, knocking against the wall in rhythm.
The one where he was watching from.
He caught his wrecked sobs with his hand, while the other wraps around his leaking cock— the veins pulsing as he fists himself with vigor upon seeing you throw your head back.
“Oh, fuck. Please,” you pleaded, mouth agape as the grip on your pillow grew tighter.
Your unfocused eyes locked with the hole in the wall, almost as if you were aware of his voyeuristic ways.
He was throbbing in his slick covered palm, painfully aware that he'll come any minute. He never lasted long with you.
Bruno couldn't be sure what brought it on: maybe it was the thought of you putting on a show for him, or the way that you said his name, but he gritted his teeth as he pumped himself a final time.
With a groan, ropes of white coated his stomach and shaking hand. He brings it to his lips, tongue peeking out to kitten lick his fingers— his mind tricking himself into believing it was you cleaning him up.
When he glances up, you're on your back coming down from your high. Your heated cheeks and heaving chest made his cock twitch, signalling for another round.
He moves to tuck himself back into his pants, when he hears you giggle.
“Hope you enjoyed that, Brunito.”

Day 34: Kiss me under the Mistletoe
Fandom: Encanto
Character: Bruno Madrigal
Naughty or Nice
Warnings: Nothing to graphic, I'm to tired to write graphic smut
A/n: Should have been posted yesterday.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bruno has become more affectionate ever since he came back to you and you weren't about to complain because you finally had the man you loved back in your arms.
Now sitting in your small home you gave Bruno a teasing smile. You two were both alone, you were happy Mirabel opted to watch your son. Letting your fingers run through the man's hair, he gave you a nervous smile.
"I...what's with that look?"
Laughing softly, your fingers ran down his cheek as you hummed softly. "Kiss me under the Mistletoe?"your voice dipped, eyes darkened for a moment as your nails then slipped down his back, gripping him tightly to your body.
Blinking a few times, Bruno ran his tongue over his lips as he nodded his head quickly. "I...I can do that!"
Bruno groans softly as he feels your nails digging into his back, a mixture of pleasure and pain coursing through his veins. He relishes in the sensation, his desire for you growing with each passing second.
His hands, strong and possessive, roam over your body, exploring every curve and dip. His touch is both gentle and firm, eliciting shivers of pleasure as he trails his fingers along your skin.
Biting your lip you then let your fingers slowly moved back to his curls giving it a soft tug.
Feeling your tugging on his hair, Bruno's desire intensifies. He leans into your touch, allowing you to guide him, to show him exactly what you desire. His lips leave a trail of hot, open-mouthed kisses along your neck, his teeth gently grazing your skin, leaving behind a tantalizing mark.
With a low, husky voice, he whispers against your ear, "Tell me. Tell me what you want. I'm here to give you everything."
His words send a shiver down your spine as you feel his desire for you burning brightly. Your pleasure becomes his priority as he continues to explore and worship your body, his movements becoming more fervent and purposeful.
Together, you and Bruno lose yourselves in the depths of passion, a dance of desire and pleasure that ignites a fire within both of you. In this moment, there is only you, him, and the overwhelming connection that binds you together.
Under the mistletoe, you and Bruno share a moment of passion and love, a moment that will forever be etched in your memories.

Antonio: "I like the book, Thank you!"
Camilo: "Hey bro, what's my name mean?
Antonio: "helper to the priest or... nobble?

@ramblesanddragons made a post about how Bruno would look into the future and see Star Wars and stuff and how he would love the Mars Rover and then I started thinking if he might rant about those things when sick and then this madness happened. It completely got away from me, especially in the end, I'm so sorry. This doubles as a get well soon story for you @ramblesanddragons hope you feel better soon
🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
"Tio Bruno? Everything alright?"
Mirabel's question, although uttered silently as to not attract too much attention, has - of course - attracted the attention of the entire family.
'Because they are busybodies, every single one of them,' Mirabel thinks with fond exasperation, conveniently ignoring the fact that she is just as bad.
Hence, her question.
But honestly, Bruno looks… bad. Not 'straight out of the walls malnourished'-bad, but bad enough. He does his best to act like everything is fine, but Mirabel sits next to him at the breakfast table and she can see the sheen of sweat on his brow and the red tint to his cheeks.
Her tio blinks at her owlishly, a vacant look in his eyes. "Huh?"
"Are you alright?" Mirabel doesn't bother keeping her voice down. The whole family is more or less openly staring by now.
Bruno blinks some more and then waves his hand dismissively. "Ah sure, sure. Of course. Just a bit of a headache and I stubbed my toe. The force has forsaken me today."
Mirabel blinks. Bruno owlishly blinks back.
"The… the what now?"
Bruno shrugs and tries to put some butter on his knife, but somehow he can't seem to make it stick. "Miercoles. I wish I had a lightsaber right now. Would cut through this butter like… butter. Heh."
"Uh-"
"Luke's lightsaber. I like his color best."
"What are you-?"
Pepa and Julieta groan and get up from their seats. Julieta gives her brother a quick kiss on the forehead (announcing "yep, a fever" to the gathered crowd) and then hurries to the kitchen to make him some healing soup. Pepa takes the knife out of Bruno's hand and butters his bread for him.
"Don't worry about it, kids. When your uncle has a fever he sometimes talks about some weird stuff he's seen in the future."
"It's not weird." Bruno mutters, nibbling his now buttered toast. "It's the war among the stars." He turns to Antonio sitting on his other side and pats his head. "The force is strong in you, young padawan. I can feel it."
Antonio has no idea what that means, but he beams anyway. "Thanks Tio."
"Wait wait wait?" Camilo leans forward. "There is gonna be a war among the stars?"
Pepa tries to shush him, but it's too late. Bruno is already getting to his feet. He wobbles a little but keeps his balance by putting his hand on top of Mirabel's head. The girl is too perplexed to argue. "In a galaxy, far away! It's a period of civil war and the spaceships -"
"Spaceships???"
"Enough." Pepa snaps. "It's the fever talking. There is no war in space. And I don't think there will be, it's just your uncle talking nonsense. We can't go up to space."
"We so will. We will be all over the place." Bruno disagrees. He lights up. "Like Opportunity! Opportunity will be up there." He lifts his head to look at the ceiling and to the horror of all but Pepa, who merely sighs, he starts to cry. "Oh Opportunity! Far away from home, but so brave. Oh, such a brave, little rover. You did good. You did really good. Everyone loved you. Will love you. Will have… Will have been lo-... Will have to have love-?"
"Okay, he's messing up his tenses. That's our cue to get you to bed." Pepa interrupts his confused ramblings. "Tell Juli to bring the soup to his room."
She takes her brother's arm to lead him away. Dolores gets up and walks up to them. "Do you need help, Mama? Should I cancel my date with Mariano?"
Bruno stops and takes Dolores' face between his two hands.
"No! Don't you dare! That's a good himbo you got there. The best. The perfect blend of hunk, jock and decent man. Don't you let him get away, Queen!"
Pepa looks so done as she pulls him away. "Come on Bruno, there is some nice soup with your name on it waiting for you."
They disappear around a corner but the kids can still hear some of their conversation.
"Aw, that sounds fab af. Shut up and take my money, sis!"
"I have no idea what that means, hermanito."
The kids all stare at each other in various states of bafflement, worry and confusion.
"What is a himbo?" Dolores breaks the silence. "Is that… Is that something good?"
"I'm sure it is." Agustin reassures her. "But maybe don't ask what it means either?"
"Why?"
"Well… once during a fever Bruno told me that the women of the future would consider me a dilf. I asked him what that meant and he wouldn't tell me but then Juli kinda forced him to tell her but then she refused to tell me! But every now and then she will look at me and whisper that word and just… giggle."
Felix pats his shoulder with an understanding air around him and all present get the distinct impression that he has a similar story to tell.
The grandkids all exchange looks and silently agree, there and then, to never ask.

For @howaboutlunch.
It was just a stupid crush, that was all, wasn’t like it would ever amount to anything. It wasn’t like someone as wonderful as you would have any interest in someone like him. Bruno had been muttering to himself incessantly for the last few weeks and anyone in the family who hadn’t previously been aware of his feelings for you were now in no doubt. His sisters had attempted to talk to him, to convince him to maybe speak to you, but he was so convinced that he had nothing to offer that there was nothing they could say to change his mind.
Mirabel decided that enough was enough, that if he had to interact with you then you would see how sweet and funny her Tio was. Enlisting the help of her sisters, she had managed to get Bruno into position and all she had to do was keep him there until you arrived. Something so simple was proving to be more difficult than anticipated.
“But if you just wait a moment-“ Mirabel was saying as the sound of your laughter rang out, causing Bruno to freeze. He stared at his niece before simply saying ‘bye’ and walking away as quickly as he could manage.
As he turned the corner, he bumped right into you, the two of you falling backwards and landing on the floor.
“Oh, my goodness, I am so sorry, are you okay?” Bruno fumbled to his feet, almost falling on top of you in his haste to help you up.
“I’m okay.” You smiled softly, your hand slipping into his and as you got to your feet that was where you left it. “Are you okay? No bumps or bruises?”
“No, no, I’m not as delicate as I look.” He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as his eyes darted to yours.
“I don’t think ‘delicate’ is a word I’d use to describe you, Bruno.” You smiled and his heart soared at the way you said his name.
“Maybe Tio Bruno should walk you back, just in case you find you are injured once the shock wears off.” Isabela suggested and the two of you looked at her as if suddenly remembering her presence.
“I can do that.” Bruno nodded, more to himself than anyone else.
“That might be safer, if we’re both heading in the same direction.” You chuckled, linking your arm through his and moving to his side.
“So, I may regret asking but, what words would you use to describe me?” He asked curiously as the two of you began to walk away.
“All the good ones, definitely.” You bumped your shoulder against him as the two of you fell into step.

✨Encantober #16✨ Kiss
"Is that my thimble?"
"What? No, no, no! That,” for emphasis, Bruno made a flourish with his hand, “is the kiss!"
"This," Mirabel picked up the small metal object and put it on her index finger, "is my thimble, tío."
Tumblr media
"Ah, yeah, yes, of course! B-but in my play, it's the kiss”—again the flourish, less exalted this time—"uh, it's, you know, a misunderstanding? A joke!” He nodded towards the rat on his workbench. “You see, the fairy-boy doesn’t know what a kiss is and the girl, she, she wants to—ah, but I don't wanna spoil it for you..."
Bruno chuckled and picked up the rat-slash-actor to squeeze it into the tiny fairy costume Mirabel had sewn for him. Without her thimble, mind you.
"I see," Mirabel sighed, her thumb stroking the embossed butterflies on the thimble’s seam. "But it's my only thimble, you know."
Bruno paused. He placed the dressed-up rat onto his shoulder and carefully stood up from his stool, turning towards her.
"Do you..." he kneaded his hands nervously and stared at her, his round eyes shiny and pleading. "Do you really need it back…?"
Mirabel bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing, and tried to look anywhere but at her uncle. It was unbelievable how a man his age could look so much like a little kid asking for a treat. The tiny rat on his shoulder with its beady black eyes and the cute little dress only enhanced the effect.
"Ah...how about you return it when you're done with your play, okay?” she offered.
"Yes, of course!" He snatched the thimble from her finger and plopped down onto his stool. "Thank you, Mirabel!"
Smiling gleefully, he stroked the fairy-rat and showed off his prize. "Look, Pepe Pan! We got a kiss!"

Happy birthday @captaincravatthecapricious 💕💕
✨Have some protective Pepa shenanigans✨
Tumblr media
Camilo was used to a certain pattern from the villagers, when it came to his Tio Bruno.
On one hand, you had the idiots who insisted on blaming Bruno for past misfortunes (or even stupid stuff happening to them now). On the other hand, you had the ones who felt bad about how they treated him and tended to over-compensate in an attempt to make up for it.
Camilo knew that Mirabel was less than impressed with both groups. Frankly, Camilo agreed with her. The first half needed to take some responsibility for their own choices, and the other half seriously needed to relax. They were making his uncle increasingly uncomfortable. He’d already said all was forgiven (though Camilo wasn’t sure how true that was) and they continued to press for forgiveness and offered to help Bruno with the smallest of tasks.
Maybe that was what bothered Camilo: it seemed this whole “Please forgive us!” schtick was for the villagers, not for Bruno himself.
But right now, surprisingly, neither group was a problem. No, there was a new problem; one Camilo hadn’t seen coming.
A woman was flirting with his Tio. Quite aggressively and badly flirting too.
“...What is happening?” Camilo asked, nose wrinkling.
“She realises he’s not even answering, right?” Mirabel tilted her head, eyes widening as the woman continued talking at Bruno, rather than to him. He could see the anxiety and boredom mixing in Bruno’s eyes; he didn’t even look at the woman as she spoke, his gaze darting about everywhere.
Camilo recognised her right away: Ines Moreno. Her family owned one of the orchards on the edge of town.
“Is talking about apples seriously her way of flirting?” Camilo sighed, setting his plate down, back on the buffet table. Suddenly, he’d lost his appetite.
“Um, I’ve gotta go!” Bruno suddenly blurted out, trying to dart past Ines.
She made a fatal mistake: she grabbed Bruno’s arm, yanking him back to his previous spot.
Bruno yelped, flinching away.
Pepa immediately descended like a storm- no pun intended. Well, pun mostly unintended.
A cold breeze rushed through Casita’s courtyard; thunder clapped and her cloud flashed with lightning as her hand slapped down on Ines’s shoulder.
“Get your hands off my brother,” she hissed, the air beginning with whip around her in a mini tornado. “Right now, before I rip them off.”
Mirabel let out a low, impressed whistle. Appetite miraculously returning, Camilo picked up his plate and began to munch, enjoying the show.
“Pepa,” Bruno sighed.
“Nope,” Pepa said, her hard gaze still on Ines. “No, I’m doing this.”
“Go, amor!” Félix called from across the room. Camilo wasn’t surprised. Honestly, the biggest shock was that Abuela hadn’t interfered yet. He wondered who was distracting her. Probably Isabela or Tia Julieta.
Casita’s floor tiles tapped rapidly in a line leading to the door, which swung open on its own. Pepa pointed to the door, her cloud growing, the lightning flashing more insistently.
“Out,” she ordered. “Before I blast you out.”
Ines didn’t need any further prompting: she ran like a bat out of hell.
“Way to go, Mamá!” Camilo laughed.
“Don’t encourage her!” Bruno cried to no avail. Much happier, her cloud vanishing, Pepa linked her arm with Bruno’s and dragged him towards the kitchen.
“C’mon,” Camilo heard her say. “Juli’s got some fresh cocadas nearly ready.”

I feel you on the burnout. I think I'm there too.
Crack idea: The rats actually go to confession.
The slightly less crack idea: The family trying to organize all of the animal friends that live in Casita for the Feast of Saint Francis (I've been doing research!)
Rat confession rat confession rat confession!
*
“This is Nodgraedxil-”
Bruno blinked and shook his head. “No, no, that’s Jorge Junior, because of that time he got a thimble stuck on his head when he was a baby.”
“Tío.” The tone in Antonio’s voice was far too close to the disappointed-and-exasperated one Félix used sometimes. “That’s not his real name. And he says you promised not to tell anyone about that again, was that a lie?”
“...technically, I guess?” Bruno looked helplessly at José, who shrugged.
“I’ll put it on your tab,” the priest muttered, then leaned down to get a closer look at the rat in Antonio’s hands. To his credit he kept his expression neutral; Bruno knew he was not convinced of the little creatures’ charms, which made him agreeing to do this an act of professional courtesy. “And what does, uh, Nadgerd-”
“Nodgraedxil.”
“-have to confess?”
After ruling out the confessional itself they’d opted to do this in the little chapel off the main altar, as it offered both privacy and an appropriate level of formality for the proceedings. Bruno perched on the edge of a pew, José - dressed in his frock and collar - sat on a chair facing him, and between them stood Antonio, who had taken the rat from his uncle and presented him to the priest for absolution.
“He steals berries from Señor Queso because he’s jealous. He wants to play Ratón Pérez in a concert some time. So…he confesses to theft. And envy.”
“I see,” José said gravely. His gaze shifted from the rodent to Bruno and managed to convey exactly how delighted he was by this ridiculous situation, and Bruno felt his heart melt a little. Maybe it wasn’t just professional courtesy. “And is he sorry for what he has done?”
Antonio waggled a finger at Nodgraedxil, who sat up on his haunches and grasped it in his front paws, then nuzzled his fuzzy face against it. The boy hummed. “He says yes, but that he still wants a chance to be Ratón Pérez.”
This particular rat, Bruno knew, had proven difficult to train and simply refused to stay in one spot not matter how much positive reinforcement he received. Still, it was worth another try, so he shrugged and nodded.
“Alright. Next time, Jorg- Nodgraedxil will have a turn. But only if he stops stealing berries.”
“Yes, he has to…show penitence,” José agreed while failing to keep a straight face. He sat back and cleared his throat. “Nodgraedxil, I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
The humans made the sign of the cross. The rat squeaked and scratched behind his ear with a back foot.
“Can he have a bread snack now?” Antonio asked in a stage whisper.
José thought about this, then folded his hands. “Not right now, but when your tío brings him up to the altar next Mass, he will.”
Bruno’s jaw dropped and he  looked from his nephew to his rat to his…whatever they were, about to protest, but Antotio was beaming at him happily, and José gave him a wink, and he settled back in the pew, sighing.
“Fine. But I’ve got like four more rats in this ruana so you’d better make sure you’ve got enough rodent-sized sacraments to go around.”
“And grape juice!” Antonio enthused. “He says he wants the grape juice too.”
Bruno snorted. “Maybe you can serve it to them in a thimble.”
Nodgraedxil, outraged, leaped over and gave Bruno a reproachful nip on the hand. This caused some swearing, which resulted in a whole new round of confessions.

I keep having thoughts about a oneshot where Mirabel gets bullied and Alma tells her once to “act with compassion in mind” and she extrapolates that one throwaway comment out way too far and just doesn’t tell anyone about it and it keeps happening until Bruno’s around again.
Might build this out into a more cohesive story, but until then here's a snippet between Bruno and Mirabel that's been in my brain. :)
-------
“How long has this been going on?”
Mirabel winces, swallowing more of the arepa. “What part?” She asks between bites.
Bruno’s fingers pause their tapping. “What - what do you mean what part?”
Mirabel swallows. “Uh - well, there’s a few different ones. A few started a few years ago, and the other -“
Bruno makes a strangled noise and buries his head in his hands. “Why didn’t you say anything, mija?”
Mirabel flinches, detached. “I did.”
Bruno blinks. “What?”
“I did. T-to Abuela. I’ve been -“ she swallows, her mouth dry. “I’ve been doing what she wants me to do.”
Bruno freezes, staring at her. “What did she tell you?”
Mirabel breaks away from his gaze. “To - to act with compassion in mind. I’ve - I’ve been trying.” She gives a weak laugh, wincing as it catches at her ribs. “It hasn’t worked very well.”
Bruno’s lips tremble. “Compassion. For all the good it’s done us. Dios, that woman.”
He rises and makes for the door.
“Tío no! Wait -“

Chubby!Reader part 2 is prooooobably gonna be posted tomorrow but I just have some THOTS
Imagine you’re sitting with Bruno in his room playing dominos or something and you just grab him by the chin, forcing him to look up at you.
“Your eyes are hazel. I never knew,” you say with a smile.
Bruno’s face erupts into a violent shade of red and you gently caress his stubbly cheek. He’s shivers at your touch, having gone without this sort of intimate and desirable touch for years.
He leans forward into your hand, pushing his body forward until he meets yours; you let the weight of his body take you to the ground. He climbs on top of you, sliding a thigh between your legs, using his knee to push your legs apart.
A few coils of his gorgeous black hair fall and brush by your cheek while his prominent nose grazes yours. He lowers his head to catch your lips in a kiss — you couldn’t help but moan into his mouth…

Day 18 - Tired
G, 100 words, Bruno & Antonio
--
It took three people, Bruno included, to get it out from under the rubble, but once his favorite chair, his only luxury for the past decade, was righted, Bruno clapped his hands with relief.
This excitement lasted approximately fifteen minutes during which he gathered his rats and found a makeshift ball — a pebble fit the bill — so he could kick back and relax while watching the soccer game, before he promptly fell asleep.
Antonio didn’t mind his napping uncle and climbed up his lap, a little sad that he couldn’t understand the rats anymore, but happy to watch them play.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Glancing around the home you were shocked to find so many of red and green plant hanging in each door way. Wrinkling your nose your stepped into another room wondering where your husband might be since you had an inkling that he might be the culprit to why you’re seeing so many.
“Bruno?!”
Sighing you pinched the bridge of your nose nearly running into one of your nieces. “Mirabel have you’ve seen your Bruno.”
Nearly dropping the box of decorates, Mirabel opened her mouth trying to come up with a answer though seeing your face her shoulders sagged. “Uh by the entrance of your room.”
“Thank you!” Rushing off to your room, you cleared out your room spotting your husband placing one mistletoe above the doorway.
“Alright, mister. I know you’re the one who keeps hanging up mistletoe everywhere.”
“Ah!” Grabbing the latter, Bruno slowly turned to look at you with a sheepish smile on his face. “Hello Mi Amore”
Shaking your head you held out your hand for him to take. “Do you have reason why you’re doing this?”
Grabbing your hand, the man stepped down from the ladder clearing out his throat. “I guess I am just not used to it…being back here with you and everyone.”
Gaze softening you gave him a smile cupping his cheeks. “If you ever want to kiss me just do it alright.”
Letting out the breath he was holding in, Bruno slowly wrapped his arm around your waist pulling you in for a gentle kiss. Smiling he then rested his forehead against your own. “I can do that.”

The Floor is Lava
“LAVA? HERE?!” Elena yelled, dropping the basket of clothes she had just pulled from the line and hopping dramatically onto Casita’s banister. The shriek earned a gentle side-eye from proper Alma as she passed on the balcony above. ‘Heh, oops. Too much,” Elena thought before turning her attention back to Antonio. “What do we do?”
Usually, the tiles in Casita’s Alcove were pinkish-red or rust, but Casita had flipped patches of them over to reveal undersides tinged in earth. Marking the islands of safety. Although Casita, had managed to trick Antonio into standing on a single tile with one foot like a flamingo, arms outstretched.
“You have to step on the brown tiles, the rest is lava”
“Red equals dead, got it,” Elena nods, as she gently places her foot down onto a set of tiles Casita flipped beside her as lets go of the stair railing.
“Antonio, I’m scared.” Elena whimpered as she begins to hop, thankful she was wearing her flats.
“It’s ok!” Antonio said hopping to a new patch, where he could place both feet down. “We just have to get to the button to turn the lava off,” He said, pointing to the grand door with the shiny doorknob. The entire family glowing, including a recently added Elena by Bruno’s side.
United in their goal, the pair begin hopping to the tune of Casita’s happy clacking of tiles, delighted in the new playmate in the game. Every time they got close to their goal, the red tiles would lead them away, afraid the game will end too soon.
“Antonio, if I don’t make tell Bruno I love him,” Elena called dramatically now off to the corner far from the door.
“We're gonna make it!” Antonio declared bravely as he took a big leap. But Casita teasingly flipped all the tiles before the door, stranding him in a sea of red.
“Oh no, Floor is lava?” Bruno asked chuckling as he rounded the corner watching his wife tip-toe hop across the floor.
“It doesn't look good. Mi Amor.” Elena cried bringing her hand to her heart in faux dramatics, brown eyes almost watering. “Promise me you'll find another.”
“Oh, that is unacceptable,” Bruno declared as he took off his ruana and laid it like a rug across the floor near Antonio.
“Antonio! Is it working?” Elena asked, continuing to hop. Gently cursing Casita as it gave her single tiles to aim for.
“Yeah, it's magic!” the 7-year-old happily declared back to her.
“Oh, Thank the Lord, Elena exclaims as she watched Antonio jump to the Ruana and was picked up high in celebration by his Tio before being placed down on the floor.
Casita’s tiles flipped like crazy as Elena began jumping as fast as she could to the Ruana. Taking a chance on a ballet leap that caused the fabric to slide beneath her. Gravity won as she began to fall with a startled “oop”. But before her back hit the ground, she was caught in a romantic sweep by Bruno.
“My hero,” Elena tittered as she kissed Bruno. A tiny proclamation of “gross”, from Antonio as  watched his uncle bring Elena to her feet still holding her, unable to not smile regardless
“Antonio, turn off the lava.” Elena smiled, as she watched him dash to the door. Slapping the doorknob. The cacophony of tiles going off as Casita reset the rose design of the tiles on the floor.
“Yes, that is definitely not up to code Casita.” Bruno chastised, still blushing red.

A New Fishbowl
Just a little drabble I wanted to make in honor of the awesome @sketchnwhatevr and their wonderful short, Tiempre de Vals Which can be found here! https://youtu.be/13icsej1i64
Please watch before reading to understand refs. (NOTE: I can't remember if Pezmuerte's first name is Ozma or not, but for now let's just go with it)
"Again?!?" cried Felix, almost dropping the glass he was washing.
"Again," sighed Bruno.
It was Wednesday, which meant it was Felix and Bruno's turn to do the dishes, with the help of Antonio. It was the same arrangement as usual: Antonio allows Parce to lick food off the plates, then Felix washes, Bruno dries, and Casita takes over putting the dishes away. The two Madrigal men always looked forward to these days because it gave them a chance to chat. Today's conversation topic: Bruno's new girlfriend, Ozma Pezmuerte.
"And...and she was sure it was dead?" asked Felix.
"Well, I'm no expert, but I'm fairly certain fish don't swim belly up," said Bruno, setting down the plate while Casita moved its tiles towards the pantry. "This is like the fifth time it's happened."
"Seventh," said Antonio blatantly. "Pico's been keeping track."
Felix just shook his head. "Ay. What is she doing with those fish, bro?"
Bruno flung up his hands, exasperated. "I don't know! I mean, she cleans the bowl regularly, she makes sure they get fed every day. She even talks to them! She treats those fish like they were her own children."
"It's the bowl."
Felix and Bruno turn to Antonio who was holding one of the coffee cups for Parce to lick. The boy said the statement so matter-of-factly that it made the two adult men feel foolish for not considering it, even though they had no clue what that meant.
"Why does the bowl matter, hijo?" asked Felix.
Antonio sighed, rolling his eyes. "It's simple. Bowls aren't natural to a fish. Nature intended them to swim in ponds, rivers, and oceans. You put them in a bowl, you're not only stressing them out by removing them from their natural habitat, you're also putting them in an environment that they're unable to thrive in. Basically, every time Pezmuerte puts a fish in a bowl, she's sentencing it to a slow and torturous demise."
Antonio then handed the cup to his flabbergasted father and took another dirty dish from the pile. The two men just looked at each other, stunned.
"How...how did you know all that, Antonio?" asked Felix, both impressed and slightly horrified.
Antonio shrugged. "The fish told me."
"You can talk to fish too?" asked Bruno.
"Yeah. They're really smart. It's kind of hard to hear them underwater, though."
Felix shook his head and went to clean the cup in the sink. "Well, there you have it. Ozma just can't have pet fish anymore. Problema resuelto."
"No! ¡No problema resuelto!" groaned Bruno. "This isn't fair. She's a good woman; she doesn't deserve this! She loves fish the same way I love rats. She won't even eat them!"
Bruno sighed heavily as he leaned over the counter, rubbing his temple. It had been a month since the festival celebrating the return of Casita and the magic. Bruno was so hesitant to attend on account of his history with the town. At first, it was difficult, even with Mirabel's encouragement. No matter how hard he tried to ignore them, he could still feel the people staring at him, whispering behind his back while he danced with his niece. Just when he felt that things were going to back to how they used to be - him being a lonely, reclusive man - Ozma approached him and asked him to dance. He had known Ozma since they were children and, yes, she did blame him at the time for the death of her first fish, they still held a good friendship. He had always known he had feelings for her, but never dreamed they'd be mutual.
Ever since the festival, Ozma and Bruno had been seen together a lot in the town. Walking to the market, lunch by the river. They were even caught once or twice in a loving embrace. Bruno was thrilled when he was able to give her a new goldfish, but now it seems that fish were never meant to be kept as her pets. He knew he'd eventually have to break the news to her...
"I just...I just wish I could fix this somehow," mused Bruno.
Felix pursed his lips and thought. "Well, let's see. Obviously, bringing fish to her isn't the answer. Sooo...what if you brought her to the fish?"
Bruno cocked an eyebrow at his brother-in-law. "What do you mean?"
Felix gave a sideways smirk to his youngest child. "I think Antonio might be able to help, right hijo?"
But Antonio was hesitant. "I dunno, Papi..."
"Come on, hombrecito!" chided Felix. "Do you it for your Tío! Look at this guy! Can't you see the passion that burns in his eyes for his lady love? Can't you hear his heart beating like drums inside his chest? The man wants nothing more than to cherish the rain that waters the ground Ozma walks upon and..."
"OH-KAY! Let's tone it down at bit!" snapped Bruno. He almost forgot how passionate Felix would get when talking about love. "B-but seriously, Antonio, I could really use your help."
Antonio looked to Parce who just shrugged, wanting to lick another dirty plate. "Ok, Tío Bruno, but first we have to lay some ground rules."
***
"Ok, ok, careful. We're almost there."
"Bruno, where are we going?"
"You'll see; just keep your eyes closed."
Later that evening, Bruno had convinced Ozma to talk a walk with him in the jungle. She inquired as to why and Bruno simply replied "I'm going to show you a new fishbowl I found." When they were getting close to their destination, Bruno asked Ozma to close her eyes as he led the rest of the way. While her eyes were closed, she could hear running water, only heightening her curiosity.
Finally, they came to a stop. "Can I open my eyes now?" she asked softly.
"Yes. Abre los ojos."
What Ozma saw before her took her breath away. Bruno had led her to a gorgeous jungle spring. It was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. A luscious waterfall cascaded down large boulders into the clear, crystal waters. The foliage surrounding the large pool varied in vibrant shades of greens, pinks, oranges, and turquoise.
"Bruno," breathed Ozma, placing a hand to her chest. "This...this is wonderful!"
But Bruno wasn't done. "Look in the water," he encouraged, bringing her to the edge. She gazed into the pool and her smile grew even brighter. There were fish! Beautiful fish of all different shapes and colors. One looked much like a goldfish, but it was so large it could be the size of a trout! Very slowly, Ozma got on her knees and lightly traced her fingertips across the water's surface. One of the large colorful fish broke the surface, its large mouth opening and closing towards her hand. Clearly, it thought she was food. Ozma withdrew her hand, but still chuckled.
"They're called koi," said Bruno, sitting beside her. "Very similar to a goldfish."
"How did you find out about this place?" she asked, not taking her eyes off the fish as they swam.
"Weeeell, you can thank Antonio for that," Bruno smiled. "He found this place weeks ago. And the best part...." He then went to the edge of the trees and pulled back a few branches, showing a clear view of the town. "It's just a hop, skip, and a jump away. You can come here whenever you like. Just promise that none of the fish are removed? And, uh, check with me first before you bring any outside food. Antonio really wants to protect these little guys from...uh, he just wants them taken care of properly."
Ozma nodded in agreement. "I promise." She then stood and wrapped her arms around Bruno's waist, hugging him tightly. "This is the most beautiful fishbowl I've ever seen." She pulled back and gazed deeply into his eyes. "You truly are a wonderful man, Bruno Madrigal."
Bruno blushed and chuckled nervously. "I'm just happy I was able to - Mm!" Before he could finish, Ozma kissed him on the lips, causing his heart to soar. Melting into her arms, he closed his eyes and returned the kiss.
Meanwhile, a bit upstream, Felix and Antonio watched the two in their lovers' embrace. "That's our cue to vamos, Antonio," said Felix, lifting Antonio to his shoulders and heading back to town. "Thanks again for sharing your secret fish pond with them. I know they're gonna take good care of it."
"I hope so," grumbled Antonio. "I still think she kills fish for fun."
"Okay, we really gotta talk about your perspective on people..."
