FANTASY HIGH JUNIOR YEAR TRAILER CHARACTER ART BREAKDOWN
The character artist credited for this season on the FAQ is Cait May! Without further ado, let's get into it.
Each character card has the PC art, the PC's name, the player's name, and a couple extra details such as an NPC they're connected to and/or plot points from the previous seasons.
Here is Adaine's character card! Boggy gets pride of place of course, with his backpack and ESF (Emotional Support Frog) flag. The sword is possibly a step towards confirming the popular prediction that Adaine will multiclass as a Fighter this season. There's also a small sketch of Jawbone in the corner. Adaine's jacket has an owlbears patch on the sleeve!
Fabian's character card follows a similar formula. There's a small sketch of Bill Seacaster in the upper left corner (titled PA-PA), and there are many references to dancing. Fabian holds his sheet. In several places the words Toxic Masculinity have been crossed out! He dances now! One of Fabian's first defining lines is referenced: "I'm here to be great!"
It's not very clear what this ticket is for, but to me it looks like a ticket to a dance recital!
Kristen's character card is next! The many holy symbols she has previously believed in are seen, a sun has been crossed out, as well as "yes?". Cassandra appears in the upper right corner, while an ear of corn appears in the lower left, not crossed out!
Cassandra looks vaguely worried, which could be their natural state, or it could indicate that Kristen's questions of faith are still just as present as they have been previously.
Riz's character card is a lot more detailed than the previous ones. Trailer analysts far more intense than I will have a field day with this, I'm gonna give the sparknotes. Riz takes front and center, with his (un)license above his shoulder! Next to him is a sketch of Coach Daybreak. Several sticky notes with the words Night Yorb appear, as well as references Riz's previous cases. Drawings of Kalvaxus and a Corn Cutie are next to each other. The photo of Pok and Kalina is shown, as is a drawing of Baron. There's also a sticky note with "Jorjug" on it, which probably isn't as important but I certainly enjoy it.
Fig's character card features her art for the season, a large Anarchy symbol, and her bass guitar. A small sketch of Gilear is shown, as well as a ticket to what's likely a Cig Figs concert, and a skateboard!
The toe of a combat boot is poking out from behind the paper with the skateboard on it. Burn Towns, Get Money is also written in the corner, which is the name of one of Fig and the Cig Figs' hit songs. The Sig Figs Collective put out a fan song version that slaps, which you can find here! (Tbh you should just check out their whole discography)
Gorgug and his greatest hits appear on this character card! The 'are you my dad' bit keeps on running. Keep Going is also written several times. The white streaks are still in his hair, headphones around his neck, and his axe gets the most movement we've seen in one of these cards.
(Gorgug gets a small animation in the transition to his character card!)
The word metal is shown, as well as a sketch of the metal flower from the very first episode.
There are also a couple of group shots!
Look at them go! The Bad Kids are back and I am so excited to see where they go this year.

Whump Prompt #1211
@crash-bump-bring-the-whump asked:
Ooo we love screaming and thrashing and crying but what about some prompts for a whumpee who doesn't have audible or obvious visible tells that they've just woken up from a nightmare? Some stoic whumpee who has (possibly secret) trauma related to the idea that it's dangerous for people to know they've woken up outside of their usual schedule?
I can give it a go:
They stare into space for most of the day, responding just enough that people don’t become concerned, but their mind is racing.
After they wake up, they just lay there, lungs burning, eyes darting to everything they can see in their field of view. They check, and check again, and keep straining their eyes until they give themselves a headache that lasts all day.
Maybe the friends/team find out while on an outing. The stoic whumpee really doesn’t want to sleep around them, but it’s a case of ‘damned if they do/damned if they don’t’. Perhaps the stoic whumpee falls asleep sooner than everyone else, but of course wakes up in the middle of the night due to a terror. The team catches them startling awake, and are understandably concerned, especially since the whumpee is still and barely breathing.
^ It takes them a worrying amount of time to convince them to breathe, and when they do It’s a disturbing, garbled gasp that invites tears.
^ Maybe they pull back, maybe they run, or maybe they just... break down.
Maybe sometimes the stoic whumpee wakes in a cold sweat. Maybe the confines of their blanket makes them want to scream.
What if they wake up, still feeling as paralysed as they were in their dream, and they panic?
Even if they wake up hours early, the force themselves to remain still - until their muscles ache and their head pounds. They count the ticks of the clock/wait for their alarm to go off. Snapping from rigid to suddenly ‘awake’ makes them lightheaded, and they nearly trip as the get out of bed. Their heart pounds.

As Before, and Yet Again
The most troubling thing about Ruby and Jaune’s breakdowns...is how they aren’t REALLY Different from how they used to be. When you think about their characters, they really aren’t.
Let’s start with Jaune. In response to his trauma, tries to deal with it by making himself to be the Paper Pleasers guardian. He learns about their daily lives, makes an intense schedule so he can keep track and help everyone, and even managed to make a map of the Ever After, however incomplete that map is. Because Jaune has always been the more tactful, analytical type. In the first chapter of Volume 4, he was the one who figured out the Geist’s weakness. The problem is, he’s become a virtual tyrant, controlling the lives of the Paper Pleasers, not even allowing them any sort of real freedom, much like how Oz and Ironwood tried to control the people around them “For their own good”, when it was more about trying to validate themselves after a lifetime of failures.
Meanwhile, when Ruby breaks down, she is very vitriolic. She lashes out, insulting and belittling her friends. Because Ruby is a fighter, her first showing was less a display of character and more of her fighting ability. So she attacks her friends verbally, becoming the most antagonistic she’s ever been since she first met Weiss. And this sarcastic, caustic attitude was also shown to her, thrown at her, by Qrow and Ironwood, so-called “Legendary” huntsmen whose breakdowns also involved attacking people, sometimes literally (Qrow punching Oscar over Oz, Ironwood shooting everyone). And on a special note, the way she disregards the Paper Pleasers as “imaginary friends” is eerily similar to how Penny was always put down as “Ironwood’s robot”.
What I’m saying is, Ruby and Jaune have not only become the worst versions of themselves, but also the worst versions of the people who influenced them.

can you please share on how you got a fashion buyer job and what that entails? i wanna do it so bad thank uuuu
of course 💕 i did a professional designation program at a fashion school that was just focused on buying. there i learned the foundation of the job basically, excel, retail math, trend analysis, etc. what opened the door to the actual industry was landing a buying internship (my school literally didn't help with getting this btw 🙄). i was able to get that internship because of my education and also because i had a lot of experience with excel (from my previous career). excel is sooo major in this career so make sure you're good on that (a lot of vlookup and pivot tables)!! after my internship, my boss offered me a permanent position as an assistant buyer. internal hiring is sooo huge in the industry that's why it's so hard to get your foot in the door and also fashion buying is so niche.
fashion buying is different anywhere you go, depending on your brand/company's business model, whether you're doing retail or private label. so im currently an assistant buyer and ngl it's an insane amount of work! i manage 8 categories (kms) along with my senior buyer. for all those categories, im in charge of samples, purchase orders, trend analysis and inspo, pulling and analyzing sales reports, vendor relations, help with fittings, any marketing stuff that my buyer doesn't wanna do, help assorting for the seasons, ITO's, and a lot of manual labor that i wasn't expecting lol as for buyers they do more of the actual decisions and justifying their buys with actual numbers (last year vs. this year) , history, trend predictions, knowledge of our customers, etc. figure out prices, what and how much of items go to what stores, ecom, fittings, developing product, chasing product. it's a lot of pressure to be a buyer, a lot falls on your shoulders because you are the sole person responsible for your category's success or failure! i wish u all the luck and lmk if u have any more questions <3

Whump Prompt #1137
I don’t think people quite understand how miserable misophonia is.
It’s the nausea that comes with sounds that you know people can’t help but make. It’s the coughing that puts your teeth on edge, the crinkling of paper that makes you furious. It’s the too-loud TV that makes you want to scream and the voices with hissing ‘s’ sounds that make you want to vomit. It’s the chewing and heavy breathing and scratching of cutlery that destroys your appetite. It’s the constantly creaking floorboards that awaken a panicked rage in you when you’re just trying to breathe.
It’s the overstimulation when your headphones are too loud but not loud enough as the usually predictable songs grate against your brain.
It’s the inability to get comfortable in your usual safe space.
It’s the tears of frustration and headaches that form because no one gets it. You can’t talk about it because it’s unreasonable. You can’t ask someone to stop because they get defensive/see no issue.
It’s miserable.
Maybe this is something your whumpee experiences from so much time spent alone/in isolation. Maybe they inadvertently isolate themselves further, as they can’t stand to be around the people they love through no fault of their own (taking their meals to their room etc).
