You are so full of rage for someone so small and cute. - Icebreaker by @hannahgraceauthor ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ ☆Have you ever been ice skating?☆ Welcome to March in northeast Ohio, where today is 28° and snowing. So of course I got my usual cold drink after picking baby girl up from dance and dug out my ice skates. Just for this picture, I haven't been skating at all this year, but it makes a nice picture. If you haven't read this book yet, I don't know why. It's cute, has amazing banter, the spicy scenes are absolute fire, and the way the characters express their feelings and emotions so openly and clearly is beautiful! ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #bookswelove #bookaholic #booklover #booklife #bookaddict #Icebreaker #gracehannah https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp8CxbdrF0O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In I See the Face, Shahidul Zahir presents an alternative retelling of Bangladesh's history, beginning with the War of Liberation in 1971. Through a mesmerizing narrative, Zahir explores the post-independence crisis of Bangladesh and the toll it takes on gifted but impoverished youth. With biting humor and an ethereal style, I See the Face is a reading experience like no other, cementing Zahir's status as a literary master. Happiness is the expectation that weighs you down. - A Very Merry Bromance by @lyssakayadams ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ ☆Do you try the seasonal Starbucks drinks?☆ Oh look, another Bromance book. And it's a Christmas one? Gee, twist my arm.... As weird as it is, out of all the romance books I own, I think this is the third Christmas one. I know there are a ton available, but I don't own many. I can't wait to see how Colton and Gretchen work things out to find their happily ever after. I love this series so much! ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~ #readersofinstagram #bookstagram #bookswelove #bookaholic #booklover #booklife #bookaddict #bookstack #stacksaturday @starbucks #bromancebookclub #verymerrybromance #isntitbromantic #undercoverbromance #crazystupidbromance https://www.instagram.com/p/CkllIpALTE8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Now in the midst of posting my content for Excavate, I took to explore and experiment with particular tags that would summarise the brand and be utilised simultaneously with the popular trends that I noted. The use of tags: #bookstagram and #bookswelove, would certainly enable the content to become quickly recognised because of the relevance and popularity in these trending tags. However, it was finding the balance of using accompanying tags that were of a low proportion of trending to enable the content to excel, as I noted earlier. This was obviously to avoid the content becoming lost in the over-saturation and abundance of competing accounts using similar tags. In addition, people would be able to find out more of what the brand's mission and the intent were by noting how the accompanying tags use #comfortreading, #letsreadtogether and #themesinwriting, all of which were core values to the brand and happened to have followers in the figures of a few hundred. In some tags, I experimented with, I was surprised to find how my content was the first to coin such certain tags, such as these examples below which revolved around the post I made on 4th April 2022, concerning the start of a book that the social media would cover throughout the week. While this was somewhat flattering, I was conscious of the fact that I should avoid going too specific with the particular words because the brand would, in the other extreme, not be discovered at all. Therefore, I carefully thought about these considerations going forward in the following weeks and decided to use them sparingly. wWile it was unique that the brand had found its own 'buzz' words, which may benefit it in future developments when these tags become popular after regular posting, it made sense to keep them to a minimum of one or two in the seven or eight tags I may use in posts.

Book Review - A Little Life
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: This may contain spoilers if you don’t wish to have the book spoiled for you. Please don't read this review. Trigger warning: Psychical abuse, Domestic abuse, Psychological abuse, child abuse, abuse of a disabled man, prejudice against the disabled, rape, paedophilia, forced child prostitution, loss of a child, amputation, PTSD, grief, depression, self-harm (A LOT OF SELF HARM), Suicide, suicide attempts, drug usage, eating disorder. Now as you can tell from the triggers, this book is a lot and very very heavy so please read at your own risk and please take lots of breaks in between and if you cannot handle these topics, don't read. A little life is about four boys known as Jude, Malcolm, Willem and JB, it goes through their lives from college to old age. It is mainly in the perspective of Jude and Willem. Jude is not a character I liked, but I cannot hate. Jude is very clearly traumatised by the shit that he went through, but he never makes attempts to get better and for me after a while, it got boring of hearing the same thing over and over, but I do feel for Jude a lot. We get very graphic in-depth details about the things that he went through as a child and Graphic detail of his self-harm. Jude’s relationship with Caleb was one of the worst things I’ve ever read, I had to stop reading multiple times and had to speak to people in my life about what I read because it was awfully graphic and went on for pages and pages. Willem, I did love Willem a lot. He was a very sweet and understanding friend to Jude and clearly cared a lot about Jude, I will say he did seem to have a wanting to fix Jude mentality which can be toxic in some scenes. Malcolm and JB weren’t in the story enough for me to develop an opinion, I will say I think JB is massively made out to be a villain especially in the scene where JB says awful things to Jude after he takes meth. This book has been described at a good LGBT representation book and to ever said that, must have been homophobic because THIS BOOK IS NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION. There are multiple LGBT characters. Jude mentions in the book, he only dates gay men because he was sexually abused as a child up until he goes college by men and he believes his choice to choose his sexuality has been stripped. Willem throughout the book is seen with Women for the most part, but falls in love with Jude however, he says in the book, he doesn’t see himself as Gay and after Jude refuses to have sex with him, he goes to sleep with women. JB dates men, I think JB is the only LGBT representation that I agree is acceptable, but he is overall a bad person in the book. Willem and Jude's relationship was not good overall, it had its moments, but for the most part, it could be toxic. Please don’t read this book thinking its a good representation of LGBT, Just because the characters are gay, doesn’t make it good representation. Now this book is described at Torture porn and I would agree. This book is so fixated on making you cry and upset and taking you on a psychological draining rollercoaster. I didn’t cry over this book because I was prepared, before reading I had watched a Booktuber talk about it so I knew it was going to be hard to read, but I also didn’t cry because I was Mainly shocked by how in detail the scenes were. I am upset by the lack of trigger warnings at the beginning of the book since I think its wildly dangerous not to include them when talking about some many difficult topics. I personally did enjoy the story though, I Did think the scenes were realistic and well thought out even if I would agree, there didn’t need to be that many bad things. I liked how being in each characters head was so detailed and didn’t feel unnatural and I did enjoy the friendship dynamic, But I will not and do not recommend this book. I think it would be wrong of me to recommend such a book to people, I think if you have read this review and read the trigger warnings and you still want to read it, then go ahead, but I will not stamp my name on it and tell you to go buy it. 4 Stars
