Usually, I don’t comment on these kind of things bc it’s wtv, but the gall, the GUMPTION, of some people to come after Felicia Wennberg.

She POLITELY asked people to stop sexually harassing her husband and other players. She said that, while she doesn’t particularly enjoy it, she knows people will thirst for her husband bc he’s hot. BUT, she draws the line at making him (and her + other players & their families) feel uncomfortable by posting sexual comments on his social media posts and catcalling him AND theorizing he cheats on her bc of his new found fame.

It has nothing to do with race, gender, a certain creator’s “fame”, or (and some grown ass adult actually commented this) “wanting to feel like the main character in [Wennberg’s] life”.

News flash, bozo. She IS the main character in his life. She’s his fucking wife and the mother of his children.

You have to be on a whole other level of delusional to think he would ever leave his wife for a rando on tik tok.

(lowkey feel like kate and tyler marrying fuelled the delu-lus. It was fkn unhinged before, but i feel like it’s gotten worse. Idk if people are ready to have that conversation tho.)

I love the way they've changed Luke's character in the show.

SPOILER for if you want to read the book, but Luke originally poisons Percy with a pit scorpion when he won't join him and fully intended to leave him for dead.

In the book, he's out for blood, and it's easy to hate him when he hurts people whenever they're in the way. But here, he's just a kid thinking he's doing the right thing and is saving those he cares about from more suffering at the hands of the gods. He doesn't want to hurt Percy and even seems to regret it before he runs off.

I think it's easier to sympathize with him this way, and his character won't be chalked up to simply "evil." The thing is, Luke isn't wrong about the gods. He isn't wrong to feel that way about them. But the way he goes about changing things IS wrong, and I think this change will help people remember that as the show goes on.

With this change, though, I can see him slowly devolving over the next 4 seasons. He'll have good intentions at first, but eventually, he won't care about anything as long as the gods pay. And he won't realize just how far gone he is until it's too late.

dec 20, 2022 - hello lovelies! if ur still around or haven’t forgotten about me, u have a special place in my heart <3 the last time i posted on here was in january?! this long posting hiatus was due to a steep increase in workload and some exciting but tumultuous life changes. some academic highlights of my year:

(1) i completed my six month full time field study internship earlier this month, and the whole experience was one of growth, self reflection, and affirmation of my passions. (2) i am 3 months away from completing both of my BA degrees, and 6 months away from commencement— how is college already almost over?! (3) i started reading for fun again! i might start posting more book recs so let me know if that’s something u’d like. (4) and finally, i applied and got into the University of California Washington Program (UCDC). i fly out to D.C. in march and i’ll live + work there until june, right before i graduate.

Can’t believe im about to make another fkn rant post about this.

Since Felicia Wennberg released her first statement against “fans” sexualizing and fetishizing her husband, she has gotten hate on every platform and people have taken to commenting on her IG posts about her family and calling her names.

Alex Wennberg, her husband, has come out in her defence and talked about how hockey culture and his PR training basically dictates that he should shut up and take it. He states that he feels uncomfortable and, in response to that, people think it appropriate to comment on his posts about how his wife can’t “take a joke”?

1- sexual harassment is NOT a joke. A joke is when we all laugh at smth together. Who’s laughing? The Wennbergs sure as hell aren’t.

2- people are saying “you could’ve reached out to x person to set boundaries”.

They shouldn’t have to.

People should understand that there is a line between playful banter/thirsting and sexual harassment. This is 2023, people should know that this shit is unacceptable. Have we learned nothing as a society?

3- now that they have spoken out against this, as Felicia mentions in her SECOND statement, them saying they feel uncomfortable should be enough for people. The fact is, Felicia’s 1st statement should’ve been enough. Alex reiterating his wife’s words and supporting her SHOULD’VE BEEN ENOUGH. It never should’ve gotten to the point where she needed to make a second statement.

They don’t need to justify themselves to anyone. They don’t owe us anything. Alex does his job and we love and appreciate him for it, but that doesn’t entitle us to explanations and justifications.

I read Felicia’s second statement and that one jersey example she gave… i cant even bare to repeat it. It’s disgusting and, personally, i wouldn’t take that shit either. What the hell is wrong with y’all?

As for those threatening to leave, hockey wont die bc it loses your delusional asses. There are still real fans around. The Seattle Kraken’s 2022-2023 season was one of the most successful seasons in the league. They don’t need y’all to keep on going. So, by all means, gtfo.
