Today marks ten years since Rise of the Guardians was released. I can and have talked the ear off of anyone who will listen about this movie.
Sometimes, I put it on just to look at all the textures and small details in the character designs. Sometimes, I put it on for comforting background noise. The books are whimsically strange and delightful with such lovely illustrations. I just love the characters, love the story, love that I can visit them for comfort and inspiration.
The Guardians brought magic back into my life, and I’ve been so glad to have them the last ten years. I’m sure these won’t be the last pieces of fan art I ever do (Jack is still one of my favorite characters to draw, you know he’ll be back), but I’m glad I got to finish these portraits to celebrate the film in time for its anniversary.
I believe, I believe, I believe.

A Direct Message To The Boogey Man
Dear Boogey Man,
I hope this message meets you in good health and happiness. I know we haven’t seen each other in a while, so this may seem out of the blue, but I just wanted to catch up. I mean, we haven’t seen each other in years--even if I’m still afraid of the dark at times y’know. It’s always nice to reminisce. Like those times you’d put nightmares in my mind or how you’d stand so very still out the window of cold desolate nights. You’re honestly a legend to me. OH! And the hiding spots you used to go too! My friends always talk to me about how you’d go and hide in different places, but for me you were different, I guess.
You’d always hid in the closet when I was a kid, which always made sense to me--it’s the scariest place to hide. The closet has no lights in it so it’s always dark. The door has a bad lock so it was easy to open and slowly creek for maximum effect. There are a load of clothes, so I’m sure you felt super well-protected when we opened the door. Sure, you’d stay under the bed at times or even hide in the laundry basket in the bathroom, but usually, it was always the closet...
I think we both know where this is going, but please read the rest of this.
I’d hate to assume but just know, it’s ok. The closet seems safe. It has no lights--constantly dark with barely a soul around. You can hide, which you’ve always been good at. But you don’t have to hide. I know you probably aren’t ready yet, but that’s ok. Life is hard to figure out, it’s hard to understand the world around you and even yourself. We all seem to fall into what is safest and most secret.
Boogey, I just want you to know--wherever you are in life, whoever you find yourself to be--that the closet, though dark, has a bad lock. That the closet is especially easy to open. You don’t need to swing it open either. It isn’t so well greased that when you open it the door will smack open wide. No. It’s ok to open it slowly, even slam it shut if you’re not ready yet. You’ll hear creaks and it’ll be scary, your eyes adjusting to the light and all, but I think you’d like it out here. I think you’ll like how it feels to not be so cramped up in that place, to meet other scarers like yourself. Now, it isn’t the best, it can be hard out here. A little too bright, but it’s ok--usually it’s ok. And even if it gets rough there are people here who will wrap around you much better than some old coats.
I doubt this will do much for you, but just know, if you ever feel like getting out of that closet and adventuring around, well... it gets pretty dark around here, and I still try to check my bed every night so...
Sincerely, the boy you used to scare.

My friend is really unsure about the covers she made for my series "Zeugen der neunten Dimension". Please share your opinion on them freely - so we can see who's right. Because I love them.
Plus, for some strange reason one site lists the cover as containing inapproriate pictures. There are non. It's either his nose or his hair.

One of my earlier jobs in life was at a little pizza place. I worked there when it was first starting up. It’s the only job I’ve ever been fired from and it was because a new manager came in and cleaned house. Because my state requires a reason to be fired he said I used too much pepperoni. So now on job applications I get to write that I was fired for “excessive use of pepperoni.” Never fails to get a laugh.
Anyway! For this story to make sense I’ve first got to set the stage. This pizza place started out as the Wild West of management but one of the original investors was super committed to work programs through the prison. We hired a ton of ex convicts and they were all, to a one, super hyped on Christianity. Like born again for the sole purpose of lauding Christ with their every breath.
I hadn’t been working there long but I’d definitely noticed the Jesus bug had gone around, and as I’ve never been religious at all I tried to steer clear of the topic for my own safety.
The day our story takes place, I was folding boxes. Anyone whose ever worked pizza can attest, there’s so much box folding. It’s something that happens at every lull, the pizza machine demands box folding on a grand and epic scale.
On my right folding his stack of boxes was a guy wider than he was tall, made of pure muscle, Corey. He was newer on staff, and due to a stutter he didn’t talk much. All I knew about him was that he got hired through the rehabilitation program and had done time.
On my left folding was a tall middle-aged woman who loved to yell at me, Cindy. She and I rubbed each other the wrong way and had nothing in common, leading to a tense working relationship.
We folded boxes in silence. This was really my best case scenario as a quiet Cindy was a Cindy not riding my ass, and Corey intimidated me.
But the weight of the silence grew too much for Cindy, who finally said, “I really want to go to bible school.”
I folded a box. I had less than no idea what bible school even was and I didn’t want to get sucked into a religious topic.
On my right Corey said, “W-why, Cindy?”
“Well, cause I believe what’s in the Bible, but I just don’t know it all.”
He nodded sagely to this.
Cindy continued, “And every time I sit down to read the Bible I get real sleepy. And I know it’s the devil.”
It’s so hard to convey her tone in written format. It was delivered with the emphasis and exasperation of an inevitable inconvenience. Like, I just know it’s the squirrels eating the bird seed.
I froze in place at this pronouncement. My only exposure to Lucifer was Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics and I was trying to mentally twist into a frame of mind where The Morningstar cared enough about this one middle aged lady expanding her knowledge of the Bible that he followed her around cursing her with sleepiness when she picked it up.
I think I expected Corey to say, “Well that’s silly,” or something to acknowledge what a bizarre thing Cindy had just said.
Instead he said, “Yeah!” In a tone of complete agreement.
I didn’t look up. I tried to keep my face neutral at this development.
But something must have shown. Corey said, “You don’t believe in God?”
I shrugged casually and said, “If I did I wouldn’t talk about it at work.”
“C-cause it’s t-true. If y-you t-ry to r-read the B-bible on unsanctif-fied gr-round the d-devil m-makes you s-sleepy!”
I made a noncommittal sound and fled into the back room.
Over the next week it drove me crazy though. The logic of it wouldn’t leave me alone so finally one day when it was just Corey and I in front, and the restaurant was empty, I said, “Hey man, I have a question.”
He shrugged and listened.
“I really don’t mean this with any disrespect, I just genuinely want to know about the logistics-“
“J-ust ask.”
“Okay, so if Cindy gets tired when she reads any book, is it only the devil making her tired when it’s the Bible?”
His face went purple with fury and he yelled, “F-fuck you!” at my retreating back as I fled once more into the back room.
It will forever remain a mystery.

"You DARE have fun in my presence?"
I would post Pitch's portrait on Jack's birthday, wouldn't I?  Anyway, now I'm done with my Guardian portraits.
Pitch was not originally part of the plan. I mean, technically it was supposed to just be a one-off portrait of Jack.
He is so angular, his face is like 80% cheekbone, so I had to make some adjustments to adapt him from the Dreamworks style to mine. But I had fun with him (I was thrilled to draw a person again after Bunny), and the moment I put him in shadow, he felt so much more correct.
I debated over whether I should give him eyebrows or not, and I decided not to. I also gave his robe thing a bit of a collar, it just felt like it should be there.

I started this before I got sick, worked on it a little bit while I was sick and finished it yesterday and today when I got over my cold— And here it is 😆
Here are some of the parents for my characters from ACE HS. Just some of them, not all of them as you can see. I simply just don’t have designs for them yet lol. I will eventually tho ^^

How would Tori and Anko get along during the Reborn!AU? I can see Anko seeking her out right after coming to the village, cause there is no way Anko as part of T&I wouldn't find out about another young girl surviving the tutelage of Orochimaru, but I don't know how that would go. Especially because both of them are quite unique
I haven't really thought about this one! I don't really like Anko so she tends not to be on my radar unless I'm fishing for a canon character cameo. But I think you're right in that Anko would have Opinions and she'd share them loudly.
I think Anko would lean towards "Tori is definitely a plant from Orochimaru and we should be treating her with the highest suspicion" for a long while. And TBH this is probably what you should assume about anyone Orochimaru has ever touched, because the way he plays games, even people who are deliberately trying to fuck him over end up doing exactly what he wants. I'm still Workshopping how Tori convinces Minato she should get to walk free, because this is a good assumption lmao.
The point is I think Tori would intentionally avoid Anko because Anko doesn't like her, and also, Anko is a very tricky person to have not like you. I'm thinking about one of Tori's personal arcs in this AU be trying to just get actual research done dispute a lot of external roadblocks, and Anko could definitely be one of those
