14.11.21 Some theory notes for computer science and another cup of tea (sometimes I think tea is all I post) - look at my tiny elephant candle! Isn't it adorable? I've been knitting+crocheting loads lately (it fits with the cold weather) and I'm hoping to finish my jumper soon...we'll see how that goes. How are you guys doing?

7 juillet 19 | by the time this posts, i should have passed the 10 hour mark for my japanese studies for this month! my writing has a lot of room for improvement, but i’m having fun with it. writing kanji out by hand feels artistic to me. in a few weeks, it’ll be the one year anniversary of this blog; it doesn’t feel like it’s been so long at all. 🍒

3rd January - What is your aim for 2022? J'espere que je serai plus heureusement et je sais que je travaillai très dur! I hope that I will be happier and I know that I'll work very hard!

4th January - What is the most important thing that is going to happen to you this year? Je ne sais pas...c'est une surprise! Je fini l'ecole secondaire cette année et je commence des A-levels - vraiment important! I don't know...it's a surprise! I finish school this year and start A-levels - incredibly important!

Exams have started - 5 down and several more to go. It's definitely a learning experience, but I feel drained already! Think I need to work on better exam practice (like going to bed at a decent time, lol). No nice notes at the moment, only practice questions and fear. While I know the importance of exams and I enjoy showing off the hard work I've put in, I'll still be glad when they're over!

Exams are over!…and now there’s a month until I have to start studying for the next (and more important) set.

I had a bit of a break with studying Hindi, but now I’m back on track! The oblique case is killing me, but I’m slowly improving and I love seeing my progress!

A cup of tea (with a saucer!!! Such vibes) and some French short stories - I read another chapter today, and I’m pretty pleased that I understood nearly all of it!

23rd August - Have you ever been really badly sunburnt?

Unfortunately! I’m usually really attentive with putting sunscreen on, because I’m super scared about the longer term impacts of serious sun damage on skin, but one day this summer I completely forgot, and I had a horrendous sunburn for about a week. That reminded me to keep putting sunscreen on for the rest of the summer!

Why can't I make a single good mindmap?

20th December - What is your favourite and least favourite holiday/winter food? Le chocolat! A Noel, on peut le manger tous les jours, et c'est tout a fait normal! Chocolate! At Christmas, you can eat it everyday, and it's completely normal!

21st December - What was the most memorable holiday celebration you had at school? Je ne sais pas. Franchement, je ne pense pas qu'il y a des fêtes a l'école! C'était très ennuyeux. D'habitude, le prof a acheté des biscuites, et nous avons regardé un film. I don't know. Honestly, I don't think there were parties at school! It was very boring. Usually the teacher bought some biscuites and we watched a film.

Trying to take a break from studying by reading some vaguely academic books - except since I'm trying to crochet and read at the same time (page-turning is hard lol) there's not much reading actually going on. How are you doing?

My not particularly aesthetic, but functional enough, chemistry notes, and a cool castle I saw. I've realised that my incredibly important paper that I've only done one edit on is due in a week's time, so I'm panicking a bit, but the pressure will really speed me up! On another note, I cannot believe it's September already - where did summer go?

Went to this uber cool bookshop and basically died (I said I wouldn’t buy any, but I did get two because they were second hand so they were pretty cheap). Also my very messy Hindi notes on fruits and vegetables - my pen in the corner looks really weird 😂.

29th August - When you remember this summer, what three adjectives will define it? Hmmm...salutaire (je suis eu besoin d'une pause), amusant, et...occupé! Hmmm, beneficial (I needed a break), fun, and...busy!

For anyone in the tags/comments/my asks - what good books have you read recently? I may have a TBR list longer than my arm, but I'm always looking for new recs!
