In my head, at the end of Season 3 of the Mandalorian
Din is preparing for the final battle, there are all the allies and friends he met in the past seasons (the Nite Owls, Ashoka, Luke, Peli, Paz, The Armorer. In short, everyone he met).
The latest arrivals before the battle are Boba and Fennec aboard Slave I.
Din goes to greet them along with the others, but is paralyzed as soon as he sees Cobb getting off the ship.
"Hey Mando", greets the marshal with his charming smile and showing an elaborate prosthesis in place of his right arm, "I felt, you needed all the help we could and...".
Din runs towards him, frightening the marshal from his reaction and fearing that he has done something wrong, the same thought is felt by all those who look at them.
But Din hugs Cobb tightly, placing his forehead on that of the marshal in a clear kiss from Keldabe.
"I thought you were dead..." Din tells him sincerely.
Cobb smiles returning the hug and pressing his forehead with more force on the cold helmet.
"You know what they say, the news of my death has been exaggerated", Cobb replies with a smile.
Din laughs, hugging him harder.
Never before have those present heard Mando laugh so easily.
Peli snorts a laugh, "If I had known before that there was a specimen of this kind among those Dunes I would have rushed to look for it... For Mando of course...".
"Who the hell is he? Why does he have all this confidence with the Mand'alor?!", criticizes Paz.
Fennec snorts, "From the way they behave, his future husband".
Boba: I'm sure Cobb doesn't know that's a kiss.
The Armorer: I'm sure Din don't know that a kiss from Keldabe performed in front of relatives and friends is tantamount to a marriage proposal.
*
One of my dreams is to see Cobb take on Paz, after he threatens or offended Din for some reason, and kick his ass in front of Din.

Din telling Captain Teva “we have no ships” like excuse me? How do you have no ships? How did this whole entire covert get here if you have no ships?? I hope you just mean no other ships that could put up a fight because otherwise how the actual heck did the rest of you get here. Did you all get the space bus? Did you cram forty Mandalorians in full armour onto the back of the space bus? Ring the bell to stop in the middle of actual nowhere the monster planet? I need answers Din goddammit

Okay so mando ep 3 felt like an episode of Andor but if Andor had no personality. Like we followed this one guy and his unlikely ally (?) the whole time and did a political comment or three but the whole thing felt polished to an unnatural extent. One of my favorite things about Andor was how gritty it was - not even that, the world was just lived in. Even the Narkina episodes felt like that. Mando Coruscant was almost Andor Coruscant, but it just felt uncanny. Fake. Something’s not right here. And idk if it’s just another case of underpaid and overworked vfx artists or if it was deliberate but it didn’t work for me.

Fic Prompts: Star Wars Wednesday
(Set immediately after the Book of Boba Fett finale)
"You sure about this?" the bounty hunter sounded like he was frowning under his helmet.
"Quit worrying!" Fennec scoffed. "Do you want to practice with the Darksaber or not?"
Boba stepped past them and slapped Din on the back. "Come on, beyora. The foundling is in good hands."
After a moment’s hesitation, Din sighed. "Alright."
He crouched down to set Grogu in front of the teenagers and said sternly, "You be respectful. You know what I mean."
Grogu squealed happily. "Bweer!"
Of course, Din instantly melted.
"I...no, no you can't come with Buir this time."
"Bweer! Bweer!"
"No, sorry buddy. You'd break the training remote. But I promise, we'll be back before bedtime, okay?"
Din scooped the toddler back up to gently tap his helmet to his forehead.
"You be good for Drash, okay? Leave the rancor alone."
"Hey, why does Drash get to be in charge?" Skad complained playfully.
Boba narrowed his eyes at him.
"You know why."
The other Mods snickered as the boy folded his arms and grunted, "Sneak out to teach the rancor tricks one time and you never live it down-"
"Well first of all, you let yourself get caught," Fennec snorted.
"Yeah, because Junior ratted me out!" Skad laughed.
"Fennec is right. Work on your stealth, Skad'ad," Boba said, a smirk betraying his feigned sternness, "and don’t let Grog'ika talk you into bothering Junior. After what Bane put him through, he needs his rest."
"Junior?" Din echoed, bewildered.
"The rancor," Drash supplied helpfully.
"You named the rancor Junior?"
"You named your 'ad Grogu?" Boba shot back.
"No I didn't! That was already his name!" Din protested.

So I'm curious what are your thoughts on Star Trek Picard Season 3? Based on most of your tags, I get the impression that you did not enjoy it.
Tumblr media
It is what it is. held together by duct tape and threadbare storytelling and one last hallway shootout.
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and it couldn't really save this one.
As it stands, ignoring the novels retcon, does it outperform "These are the Voyages", which also used some Enterprise-D flashbacks in it?
Oh I thought my answer was gonna be yes but I'm just.....
Tumblr media
maybe by a nose, its better than that. This season was a mess again that didn't really know what it wanted, invested heavily in tropes and wanted a shootout a minute from the looks of it. All those scenes on M'Talas Prime, wasted potential of the Changelings (oh we fixed that. we got the transporters fixed), the omission of Laris in the finale when they made sure to put her in the season premiere.
Not to mention the Borg, oh the Borg. one transwarp hub down out of six and one dead queen is all it takes apparently.
In a way the closing scene of this season's Mandalorian and Picard reflect a poor attempt to reach an endgoal by some of the worst possible means. Those closing scenes are good but unearned.
And, this goes back to TNG-era Trek, Star Trek can't envision civilian life in these models. Everyone has to join Starfleet, we cant have any main civilian characters.
After listening too to Matalas on Gates' pod I have a feeling that we're trapped in another cycle of trying to Star-Wars-ify Trek, and the Trench run sorta reinforced that.
I think that's all I got tonight.

Why can’t you guys appreciate world building and shenanigans and subplots that flesh out characters that aren’t the protagonist
