Grian do you have any friends in your civilian life? Also Jimmy said something about Boatam a little bit ago, can you maybe tell us some stuff about them? Like are you still incontact with any of them?

"I hang out with Impulse and Pearl a lot! I don't know where Scar and Mumbo went though, they sort of just... disappeared. But yeah, Boatem was a group of people that we made as kids, and that stuck together for a long time! Mumbo and I founded it, Scar quickly followed, then Impulse and Pearl joined short after. But yeah, it was formed basically because we didn't really have many friends as kids, so we became friends with eachother. I already knew Pearl, and Scar sort of just knew everyone, so it worked pretty well! It was a group of misfits, but it's my group of misfits. I kind of miss Mumbo and Scar, you know?"

could I please request some false x gem with very possessive false?

Gem didn’t realize, False obsession with love for her in the beginning, maybe the signs were always their and she was just blind because False, who is really well known outside the server as one of the prettiest and best fighters was actually paying attention to her and seems to enjoy their conversations.

Maybe Gem should have realized something was wrong when Stress disappeared, and False wasn’t concerned about it, but then again False was being very affectionate and in a happy mood and she didn’t really want to ruin it.

Gem should’ve realized something was wrong with False before it got to this.

False loves her pretty doe, her darling gemstone. She fell into love with her the day she saw her in a pit with an obstacle her friend, saw her looking up at False, saw the innocence in her eyes and fell deep in love. She was going to make Gem her’s no matter what it takes. She decided she liked it when Gem looked up at her, False liked it when she had people on their knees, begging and she going to make Gem beg, beg to save the pests lives, beg for her to be gentle with her when they cuddle, beg her to go rougher when they spend time in their bedroom, beg False to claim and mark her.

False started off small just to gather Gem reactions, she spent a lot of alone time with her to see what will make her blush or not. Time away from the pests other hermits, time away from Pearl and Stress, the two people who seem to want to stick close to Gem no matter what.

Then she started to remove anyone who tried to get too close to her gemstone. Starting with poor naive Stress, who only saw False as a friend and not a threat. It was ridiculous easy to get Stress by herself without any protection, hearing Stress claim that if False was there she was a safe as she can be, in that stupid sickly sweet voice of her’s.

False was quite satisfied when she managed to not only kill Stress but to make her body seem so twisted, stems of flowers and roots of trees seem to pierce Stress skin as her head and body hanged limp from a branch of a tree seeming like a puppet, arms broken and bent and her legs messily chopped off, hidden in the long grass underneath her body. It was too far out for any of the other victims hermits to stumble upon the horror scene of Stress. Well it was too far out that they’ll stumble upon her while she isn’t a decay pile of bones.

The next problem was Pearl, as she lives in the center of chaos which was known as boatam. The only solution she has was to distract her from her path to Gem’s place and lead Pearl a completely different route. She mainly got lucky as Pearl was a completely new creature to her, she didn’t have enough time to pick at her fidgets and ticks, so she was going in blind. Thankfully she was able to get Pearl way from the path to Gem’s instead directing her to False’s own base. Planning on just killing her in her basement, perhaps False can find something about Pearl enjoyable while she tortures her, perhaps she’ll look nicer if she sews Pearls mouth shut and makes her choke on her own blood.  All False needs is for her gemstone to not find out about she’s doing with the pests her other friends.

All False wants needs is her gemstone keeping her innocence and not realizing what False had done to the people that had mysteriously disappeared, but if she had, well she has a nice hidden room that no one will ever find to her to keep her love in forever, so only False can see her and one day False will make sure Gem will never not love her. After all if she can’t have Gem then no one can, and she’ll keep her hidden until Gem realizes that everything False did for her was out of obsession love.

So in Dragon Mom Grian, does Tegg become Free Babysitting™️? Also Grian just… napping with the rest of Boatam around him.

I've had images in my head of Grian making a giant nest in his base and when he's feeling particularly motherly/loving/cuddly [and sometimes a bit lonely], he kidnaps the Boatem Crew and takes them to his nest and holds them close with his wings wrapped around them. they don't mind at all and the five of them just chill out for a time in the nest and cuddle.

as for the babysitting...yes and no.

at first, it's just a game to be played, albeit with a little anxiety on Grian's part and a bit of concern from others about their fellow hermit who's constantly visiting them and asking after the tegg – how's the tegg doing? is it being cared for? mobs can't get to it right? how's the tegg doing? is the area creeper-proof? it hasn't been damaged, right? how's the tegg doing? etc

Grian doesn't fully realize that he's being protective over the tegg – he's sure he's just asking after it because it's the only one in existence and ya know, he has to make sure it's all right because it's the key factor to the game. and he is kind of overseeing the game so there's nothing wrong with asking the players if it's safe, right? of course there isn't!

to the players involved in the tag game, at first they're like, oh, he's just checking in because 1) he's overseeing the game and 2) he just wants to make sure it's okay because it's the only dragon egg in existence. then they notice that the longer a player has it, the more frequent his visits, like every few days or so. the more concerned parties eventually go to a member of Boatem and are like "hey, is Grian all right? he seems a bit anxious?" and the Boatem member is just like "yeah, G's developed some motherly instincts towards the egg but don't worry, folks, everything's fine and he'll get better once the game is over"

then the game ends and Grian gets the egg back and he seems a bit more normal, though, he does spend a lot more time at his base. Boatem notices that his protective instincts seem to evolve to where he's watching over their village more and that he kind of follows any visitors around. they're at first like "huh, that's weird" then after a couple incidents where one or so members get hurt, they realize that "oh, his instincts don't only care about the egg but us as well, neat! we've got our own personal guardian angel watching over us."

Grian notices a change in himself eventually, though, it takes the Boatem Crew to bring his protectiveness to light. after he's like "huh, this is weird, since when did I become such a mom?" he accepts it after some time but sometimes, the instincts are a bit much – examples include but not limited to...

he has to gather resources but he doesn't want to leave the egg alone, he knows it's safe but still...what if it's not? [this is where babysitters will come into play]

pulling the Boatem Crew out of danger should they be in it, or getting in the way and protecting them while getting rid of the danger

stalking any visitors from a distance and sometimes swooping down on them from above should they be doing anything deemed a threat [ex: Evil X trying to set up a cryptocurrency derpcoin notice board near their portal].

the near-constant need for cuddles. at first, he doesn't realize he wants cuddles until sometime later when he's giving Scar or Mumbo a hug, then he's like "oh...this is really nice actually, we should hug more often". cuddle sessions become a regular thing in Boatem – usually after one of them [mostly Scar] respawns but also just as a weekly/bi-weekly slumber party.

and now babysitting – only with a select few are chosen to watch over the egg when Grian has to do some resource gathering/adventure stuff. it's not that he doesn't trust everyone on the Hermitcraft server, it's only that he trusts some more than others with watching over his precious egg. these people are: Impulse, Pearl, Bdubs, Gem, Joe and Cleo, Doc and Ren, Iskall, and TFC.

he finds that they all make wonderful babysitters and they treat it as though it's more than just an egg, like maybe it's actually Grian's child or smth?

Impulse teaches the egg about making candy and sings the Candyman theme song thing to it

Pearl gives it llama rides or carries it in a kangaroo-esque pouch when she's pranking people. she'll also share stories about the old Evo days and stories about Grian being a bit of a menace (affectionate).

Joe reads the egg poetry and Cleo teaches it about armor stands.

Gem carries it around in her antlers while she builds because she needs her hands to work and she believes it likes to feel tall – she has a special harness/pouch she uses so that it's safe from falling.

TFC takes the egg into the mines with him and has a special basket installed onto his minecarts so that he can talk to it while he works without it being in the way. he usually talks about either some adventures he's had or about the different ores/resources that can be found in the mines.

Iskall has a backpack that he wears and he'll talk to the egg while he terraforms since Etho's always doing his own thing. he also likes to take it to the very top of the base and show it the amazing view.

Bdubs has a special moss hoodie that's made with a pouch so that he can carry the egg around and teach it about horse breeding and pretty redstone. if he's babysitting at night, he will tuck it into a bed and read it a story.

Doc also carries it around in a pouch-harness thing that he straps to his chest and he talks through any redstone issues in the way a coder uses a rubber duck – he already uses the harness thing to carry baby goats with him while he works so why not use it for the egg too?

Ren finds that the babysitting is a great opportunity for a day off – he'll either nap in the rv with it or he'll chill out with it on the beach next to the rv. sometimes Renbob visits and the two of them will make flower crowns together and cover the egg in flowers.

Ive been caught up on the Watcher!Grian lore. And not to cross fandom, but I really thought it was a Magnus Archives au thing. Where Grian is Eye aligned or an avatar.

Not that Im disappointed in finding out the EVO stuff. Now my gears are turning for a Magnus Archives and Last Life crossover au. (Hermitcraft crossover au would be cool too, especially with the weird moon stuff and the Boatam hole)

Black Twitter is going off on Chris right now and I can understand why

I can too. I think they absolutely have a right to feel what they do both about the case, the ridiculous sentencing, and celebrity comments on all of it including Brandt hugging his brother’s murderer.

In my honest opinion, I was happy to see her found guilty (I personally believed she was), but that prison sentence is a joke. 10 years and she’ll be out of prison in 5 with good behavior. She will have her whole life ahead of her after her sentance, meanwhile Botham is dead. He is gone. Forever. He had his whole life ahead of him and it was taken from him. If the roles were reversed, if a black officer murdered an unarmed white woman in her own apartment, I think we would have seen an insanely different sentencing and public perception of the murderer’s character.

The way the media is currently portraying that hug does nothing but build pity and a redemption case for a convicted murdered. Does she deserve that? I personally don’t think so. And again, would we see this happen if the roles reversed? We probably wouldn’t because we rarely do see that happen. If Brandt felt the need to speak his truth and hug his brother’s murderer for his own healing process in the name of forgiveness as he grieves, that’s his choice and his business. But the media, nor any other celebrity, Chris included, needs to comment on that. We don’t need to use Brandt’s grieving process as a redemption case for a murderer.

I will say that I think Brandt is clearly a person of incredible character. I think he showed a level of grace that I don’t think I could in that same situation. And I think he should do whatever he needs to do to move forward with his life in his own grieving process. But part of where everyone’s issue is with Chris’s tweet (and other celebrities who posted something similar) is that Brandt’s act of grace is being used to redeem a murderer. This is plays a part in learned, internal racism whether people realize it or not. Often times in the media and society, when a white person commits a crime towards a person of color there’s a need to find forgiveness or redemption for that white person. They need to rebuild themself and the white savior complex comes into play. People of color are almost always expected to show qualities like forgiveness or acceptance towards the villain in their particular story. Or you’ll see people try to defend or justify a white person’s actions after a crime is committed by digging up information that isn’t revenant. In this specific case, after Botham was murdered the police searched his apartment for drugs so they could have something to pin on him. To find SOME way to make him appear as the villain and to justify his murderer’s actions. That’s not okay. But this is sadly a common practice and very rarely do we ever see the same excuses or public displays of forgiveness given towards people of color when the roles are reversed. They’re simply the villain (even when they’re not) and that’s just that. It’s sad. It’s wrong. Let’s also not forget to mention that only a 10 year sentance (5 with good behavior) was given to a white, female murderer where people of color are often given life sentences for crimes that are far less serious. The Central Park 5 served more time in jail for a crime they didn’t commit than this convicted murderer will for killing Boatam. That’s insanely screwed up and it’s all apart of the racial injustice that constantly occurs in this country.

So when Black Twitter (or anyone else) gets upset that Chris wants to call what he saw beautiful, they have every right to. It’s not beautiful. It’s nothing short of heartbreakingly tragic. I will add that for most people who have an idea of who they think Chris is, I don’t think he meant to cause harm or hurt feelings. I just think this really is a good example of him not exactly being as “woke” as his fans like to think he is because he tweets mean things about the orange Cheeto in charge. I’ve said that before on this blog and was attacked for it, but it’s something I believed a while ago and I still believe now. It’s becoming more and more noticeable to me lately. I don’t think he had bad intentions, but his tweet came off as a major miss and if he didn’t want to later tweet and clarify his thoughts (we all make mistakes) then he probably should have deleted it. I don’t think he meant to be offensive, but at the end of the day he still was. 🦎

ETA for those who were following the case but not might have continued: the judge (who also hugged the convicted murderer) who handed out the sentance accepts major PAC donations from that specific police department. I wouldn’t be so surprised if that connection didn’t directly lead to that short sentance for murder. Also, Botham’s neighbor, and the only witness to the crime, was found murdered this weekend. Sounds pretty sketchy to me...
