I Found You
Michael Afton x GN! Reader

Please don’t question where these ideas come from. They form so late at night and I have to write them down or I’ll l forget them forever. Anyway! This is a scooped Michael thing I thought up at like 11pm so if it’s choppy cause I forgot some of the idea the next day or if it comes out late over all due to me trying to figure out how to type this then- my bad.
Enough of Admin Ollie rambling- onto the story!

Your heavy breaths shook as you sat in your bathroom. You weren’t sure where Michael was right now. He hadn’t been this late from work in a long time and you were worried. Especially with these previous days. Every time you would hear more about what happened at work, the more you worried. Now was just the worse of the worry. Michael wasn’t answering his calls and it was almost midnight.
Your back had rested flat against the wall as you stared down at your phone. The silence continued on and on until finally, the creaking sound of the front door to your shared apartment opening filled the air. You quickly scrambled up to your feet and made your way to the door, setting your phone on the counter on the way. “Michael!”
A smile was plastered on your face as relief washed over you. Michael’s back was turned to you at first as he seemed to struggle to get his coat off for a moment. Actually, every movement he made seemed a bit stiff. You brushed it off as a long day at work. He did come home late after all.
That was all it was, right?
You quickly questioned that when he turned around. He seemed off. Very off. His eyes were wide and held more of a purple color than his usual grey-blue. There was dark red faintly smeared around his bottom lip and nostrils as if he was wiping away blood. “Michael- are you alright..?”
When you had raised a hand to gently touch his face, he moved it away. He seemed to contemplate an answer for a moment. “Fine..” He murmured lowly. His voice was gavelly and off tone. “Long day, s’all.” Michael looked you up and down as if looking checking for something or examining some specimen.
It caused you to stiffen under his gaze. “S-so uh… how was your day? Did everything go alright..? I was worried about you after everything that happened yesterday and the day before.” Michael hadn’t returned home the other night. He had been knocked out and kept there over night, apparently. Michael wasn’t even sure by what at the time. Only that he had waken up in the springlock suit.
Michael began to move past you with a half smile plastered on his face. It was crooked, as if he was learning how to smile for the first time. “It was perfect.” He chuckled to himself, looking around the home. The way Michael acted was raising alarms in your head. Your eyes never left his figure as he stumbled into the bathroom you had came out of not too long ago.
If it could, his grin would grow at the sight of himself. In his mind, he had become successful. His planned had worked and… Michael looked at you. Normally, you wouldn’t bother much with it and just flash him a smile. This time, you felt uncomfortable. As if all eyes were on you all of a sudden. And… you must be this man’s lover. What a package deal. Not only did he get to be human… he got to experience these things humans called a relationship.
“It’s good to be home. I missed you.” He spoke with slight enthusiasm. Michael pushed off the counter and made your way to you. At first, you took a step back, but you couldn’t really go much further as his arms wrapped around you. You immediately tensed.
His body was stiff. Almost like metal. Not only that but it felt like tendrils were moving under the skin at a slow and rhythmic pace. It sent chills down your spine, causing you to stiffen up as well. You quickly pushed him off with as much force as you could muster. Michael- or who you assumed was Michael up until now- stumbled back at the force. He smile had quickly vanished.
“Y-you’re… what did you do with Michael…?” Your voice shook with the fear that crawled up your throat from your chest. It made you feel sick to your stomach. Was something… inside Michael? Was Michael even alive anymore? This.. thing using your boyfriend’s body smirked at your expression. “You’re a smart one. Certainly more smart than he was, following my instructions so blindly.”
Your voice got caught in your throat and your face went pale as you slowly backed up. “You know…” He began again, taking a step to you. “You can join him as well. I have a few friends that would like to walk the streets too. You’d make for a perfect vessel.” He lunged at you in a swift movement, but you dove out of the way with a quick shout.
You heard a chair fall- he must’ve collided with the table when you had dodged him- as you went into your room. The door was slammed shut and locked, heavy breaths leaving your lips. The banging on the door followed soon after, causing you to jump in place with a suppressed gasp to be muffled behind your fingers. Think, think! You didn’t really have anywhere you could hide- except the closet.
It was a dumb idea, but it was all you had. The banging got rougher as time went by. You slide the door open and moved a few things that were on the floor out of the way so you could hide under the clothes. You even pulled a few on top of you just in case. The darkness of the closet didn’t help the anxiety rising in your chest. It only made your panic grow.
The door slammed against the wall when it was finally broken open. Your hands had flown to your mouth to suppress a noise of fear. And then it was quiet. He was listening and looking for you. Tears pricked are your eyes and you shook gently in place. The door to the closet was yanked open, causing you to release a sharp gasp.
His eyes pretty much glowed a purpley pink color, a menacing grin plastered on his lips. “I Found You.”
