About blind items, modern day PR, and how narratives are spread to fandoms and the public- it’s all publicity

This was sent to me yesterday (which I inadvertently forgot to include in this post) but that I thought merited discussion. A blind item from CDAN (screenshot below):

The "Disney" mention in particular seems very pointed, given that Michael and David both were/currently are on vacations at two different Disney parks, and leaves little doubt as to who this is about. Also worth noting is that while the nature of CDAN is such that anyone can submit a blind item, this particular item was posted by Enty (the entertainment lawyer who runs the CDAN) himself.

I also think it's interesting that while there have been numerous BIs about Michael and David separately, this seems to be the first one I can recall that is about them together. I'd love to know what you all think, so please feel free to chime in in the comments...

Why do you have so much faith in Blind items? The people who write them know the main fandom theories and they're just pandering to them for clicks and views.

I've read blind items since i came into this fandom in 2012. I've come to learn which sites are accurate, have real inside sources and who strives for accuracy and validity. I've also learned which sites just make up stuff to pander to fandoms and which sites are mouthpieces for celebrities PR teams. I don't trust these sites with shit. If a blind item is saying something that i've already observed myself or things i find beliveable based on other information i have, then i'm inclined to believe it. I've talked about this before so check out my blind item tag.

As an example there was a blind two or some years ago about a closeted male celebrity that was into being slapped during his male encounters. The blind said he had a bruise that couldn’t be covered by make up. I didn't believe it at time, but a couple of days later he was pictured by a fan and the pic showed a bruised cheek that was attempted hidden by make up. The bruise looked to me like it was from a slap. So then i believed it. It's also been clearer to me years later that this dude is queer. He queercodes, queerbaits and have recently played a gay role on film.

Some sites are very accurate and others not accurate at all. Some sites have insiders with a select few celebrities and these blinds are many and more accurate than their other blinds. So you need some experience and previous knowledge to be able to distinguish what's probably true and what's not. You can’t rely on blind items only, and base you opinions only on them. It's more like an extra confirmation of what you already believe.

With Niall i said i hadn't seen any queer rumours or blind items. But actually looking it up there are a great deal actually. From a site i deem overall 60-70% accurate. There are straight blinds on there too, but they are older. From 2015 and on, he's talked about as closeted. I won't speak to the validity of these blinds about Niall, but i can't say they aren’t there and don't exist. Because there are blind items about Niall being queer out there. That's just a fact.

i've shared insider info on here before it was made public, then it was later made public. a list of some of that info is in the post linked above but the list includes: knowing that olivia was releasing new music and when, knowing that there would be an international eras tour and that sabrina carpenter would be an opener, two different instances of knowing explicit details of taylor's mvs before they were out, and what night taylor was announcing speak now.

that doesn't mean every single thing i predict or share is correct because gossip can get lost in the grapevine but i do an excellent job of vetting my sources and it's proven with all that stuff up there i got right. also ttb and spade riddles are the same person. and she's never shared info before it was made public. she has people send her poems or riddles or fanfic and then after public info her readers back track into saying oh they knew xyz was happening but they never know anything is going to happen before it happens nor when. they back into acting like they have insiders after the fact.
