Yashahime: Awful Sequel
Tumblr media
When the first of the information came out that Inuyasha was getting a sequel, everybody was excited but it was a really awful show that was overhyped. It became a failing sequel to the Inuyasha franchise just like Boruto became to the Naruto franchise. It's a show about a hanyo version of kagome and/or rin who inherited the obsessive clingly nature, a hanyo female version of sesshomaru who barely has a personality that doesn't involve slaying and playing the violin, and a weak comic relief shihanyo who inherited her parents worst traits, who are majority of the time always winning fights.
Rushed
Just like with Inuyasha the Final Act, Yashahime was extremely rushed and boring. The Final Act was quickly wrapped up in 1 season as the manga was longer.
2. Constant Copying
In one of kohakuxrin's post there is massive recycling from the previous inuyasha content and especially the final act manga material that wasn't made in the rushed anime. As they
Ex.
1) Mistress Centipede with Mistress Three-Eyes

They're trying to remake the first villain from the past.

21) The Rainbow Crystals
Tumblr media
- The Silver Crystal was split into the seven Rainbow Crystals so as to seal away Seven Great Yōma. And as Sailor Moon shed a tear for her lover Tuxedo Mask who was mortally wounded, it caused the seven Rainbow Crystals to react and merge into one, forming the Silver Crystal itself. - As Zero shed a tear onto the Sacred Jewel, upon learning the death of Toga whom she was fond of, the seven rainbow pearls came out of it.
22) Chibiusa and the Door of Time
Tumblr media
- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.
No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).

3. Contrived Powerups
Majority of the time, you would notice that towa, Setsuna, and moroha get these power ups to easily defeat an opponent by emotions or hearing about something.
4. Miroku and Sango's Family
Other than Hisui, they are barely seen.
Miroku spent the majority of the series on a 1000 day training and in the last episodes of the season he was suddenly powerful and taking on the grim butterfly. In episode 22, miroku was easily defeated by zero and had kin'u take his place.
Sango, who was known to be a strong female fighter in the original, was reduced to simply miroku's wife and hisui's, kin'u's, and gyokuto's mother. In the last episode of the final act, sango retired from being a demon slayer but could've come out of retirement to lead the new demon alongside kohaku but instead she's reduced to making mask and supplies. In the last episodes of season 2, sango comes out of retirement to fight with a rushed weapon called the black hiraikotsu.
Hisui could've continued to learn under miroku while being a demon slayer despite kin'u being a monk first. Sango, who was the original owner of the hiraikotsu, should have been the one to inspire hisui to be a demon slayer instead of kohaku. The hiraikotsu doesn't have the abilities it achieved in the final act.
The creators of yashahime decided in season 2 to give hisui feelings for setsuna, making it offiical in episode 48, to make it opposite of riku and towa since hisui is a full blooded human riku is a incarnation of a full blooded yokai.
Kin'u and Gyokuto, who appeared the least in the show, only appear to make a character shine. sango, who is a skilled fighter, didn't even train kin'u and gyokuto in combat as the only thing they do is throw sutras and powders. The creators didn't put any thought into their character designs as kin'u and gyokuto should've had different hairstyles and lengths from each other as the only difference in kin'u's hair was the small ponytail and gyokuto's hair didn't change at all. While kin'u's attire did change, the difference between gyokuto's attire from childhood was her apron and woven sandals.
They could've appeared more in the series and developed their personalities and abilities.
And when shippo appeared again especially in episode 48, kin'u and gyokuto reverted back to their personalities when they were little children.
5. Kohaku and the Demon Slayers
kohaku's face looks like iruka from the naruto franchise. Despite opposite character designs and weapons, rokuta and nansuke barely have personalities and don't even have backstories
How could the demon slayers, especially kohaku and hisui, not know setsuna was a hanyo after seeing her abilities and sensing her aura.
Kohaku and the Demon Slayers really don't think things through sometimes and aren't very bright.
Ex. Nikosen was poisoning a mountain and instead of thinking of other ways to defeat him, the only way they thought to defeat him in their minds was to burn the mountain.
6. Secrets
It seems to me nobody wants to talk about the past.
Despite living in the modern era for 10 years, the higurashi family never mentioned or seen pictures of kagome to towa until she was about to leave for the feudal era.
kaede never told kohaku, hisui, and the other demon slayers that setsuna was a hanyo or was sesshomaru's daughter. After 10 years of not seeing setsuna, kaede never once told her about sesshomaru, rin, or towa and even when she returned she still didn't explain. It only took 21 episodes for kaede to tell towa about rin and even then it was quick information about how they lived together for many years and she disappeared shortly after she and setsuna were born.
kaede never even told moroha about inuyasha and kagome.
I wonder why nobody especially miroku and sango told kohaku about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru and rin's daughters and not even a letter.
Even when kohaku found out about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru's daughters, he only mentioned something to them in episodes 5 and 31.
When miroku first met towa, he was informed that she was setsuna's older sister and instead of telling her about their parents he just stood there silently.
When the higurashi family realized that moroha is kagome's daughter, they never told her information about her and inuyasha and tried to fix this in season 2 especially in episode 28.
7. Underage Pairings
The creators of yashahime really don't care about the sick relationships.
sesshomaru and rin, knew her ever since she was 7-8 years old.
riku and towa, he knew her before she was born
homaru and tamano, kidnapped and tried to force her to love him.
moroha flirting with bokuseno.
I don't have an opinion on hisui/setsuna or hisui/aiya.
8. Rushed and Failed Backstories
They really didn't think much into the childhoods.
In episode 15, towa and setsuna were taken away and placed in a forest for 4 years and moroha was sent away to the koga and ayame by hachiemon.
In towa's childhood after being separated from setsuna, there's not much known as we see her meet sota, have a weight set and trophies to explain her life, a flashback of a pinky promise, and they gave of these rushed memories in episode 36 like they gave kagome rushed memories in the final act.
With setsuna, her being taken away from the burned forest, being accepted into the hidden hanyo village, training under 2 orders, defeated 2 lizard yokai, flash forward 6 years later, a recycled flashback from episode 3, returning to the hanyo village, a quick copy and pasted of episodes 51 and 52 except the soldiers are yokai, and leaving the hanyo village.
With moroha, a quick flashback of her last training day with yawaragi, battling a recycled character kodoku, being sold to jyubei, battling the birds of paradise, and giving quick images of her as a baby in episode 39.
9. Contrived Emotional Moments
The scenes that are supposed to be emotional are bland, rushed, and cringe-worthy.
Ex.
sota and towa's relationship wasn't sad for me as in season 1 and 2 they had very little interactions and were forced.
Ex. in episode 4, sota and towa talking and saying goodbye and in season 2 sota and towa meeting again and goodbye again after he tells he will always see her as his own blood daughter as they transform appearance when they first met.
A female wolf yokai named yawaragi was mentioned in episode 14, appeared as a small cameo at the end of episode 15, and official debut. She has a few flashbacks, a quick fight, then they tried to give us this emotional dying scene of her with moroha but i'm not attached to the character and everything goes back like nothing ever happened except for a new ability.
towa and setsuna tearfully hugging each other and apologizing when setsuna regains her memories.
riku tearfully killing zero.
moroha reuniting with Inuyasha and kagome while towa and setsuna, which is weird for her, tearfully watched.
moroha keeping the black pearl with the beni.
towa and mei's moments plus the final goodbye.
riku confessions of love to towa especially before everyone battles the grim butterfly and him dying.
Inuyasha, kagome, and moroha having a family moment on the bone-eater's well.
rin hugging towa and setsuna while sesshomaru and jaken having a conversation while 2 other families watched them.
towa and Setsuna hugging moroha in their new attires.
towa confronting a disguised riku in jyubei's shop.
moroha hugging Inuyasha and kagome before leaving their home.
Basically episode 48 was one of the worst episodes in the entire two seasons.
10. Terrible Characters
Majority of the yashahime series characters were boring and confusing.
Ex.
In season 1, she looked more like she was the big bad of the series than Kirinmaru, who didn't even act like the villain.
Zero possessed much more of a threat to our main characters, as she is responsible for the forest fire that separated Towa and Setsuna and indirectly separated Moroha from Inuyasha and kagome. She's done various other things, blackmailing Sesshomaru by cursing Rin. She feels very much that she had the same level of connection that she had that the same connection Naraku did with Inuyasha.
zero's back story as well seemed uninteresting and confusing, having feelings towards Toga, and when he dies her love for him drives her to kill his descendants. She could have become more interesting as the series progressed. If the rainbow pearls sealed away her emotions, then why is zero taking revenge on toga's descendants and got angry at sesshomaru's mother.
But that was not the case, as when season 2 aired, is when Zero started to run down downhill by gathering the rainbow pearls, for revenge, kidnapping towa, and basically holding rin's life hostage, and it all ends in episodes 36 and 37.
To start with, Setsuna learns from Rin that she must save Zero to stop the curse from killing her. Really wished we knew that before. Thanks, Rin, which leads into the next episode.
At this point, Zero has been emotionally torturing Towa for the entire night by reminding her of her sadness and suffering, and is pretty much trying to get Towa angry enough so that she can kill her, and in doing so kill Rin. She's almost successful when Setsuna shows up, shows Towa the dream butterfly, and suddenly Towa loses all the anger she has towards zero in a matter of seconds.
towa then thanks zero for what she's done and it is really annoying. zero prepares to kill herself and Setsuna cuts the thread of fate tying Zero to Toga and she removes the curse from Rin and commits suicide by Riku.
All of these in a matter of minutes, they make Zero, this threatening and uninteresting villain and rendered her more pathetic. They had to give her a redemption arc when she's been the most villainous character in this sequel. Kirinmaru felt more like an obstacle the same way Koga was in Inuyasha. But this, this was so dumb, and when I was watching episode 36 and heard what Rin said, I knew what this was leading into but it was so much worse when Towa thanked her for it. She really didn't need to thank the person who separated her from her twin sister and tried multiple times to kill her, sister, and rin because it's just wrong.
The creators of yashahime couldn't even give zero an actual conclusion that fitted with her character, and she's forgiven so easily. You didn't see Inuyasha thanking Naraku for setting him and Kikyo against each other and killing Kikyo, Sango thanking naraku for killing her village and controlling her kohaku, and miroku thanking naraku for cursing his bloodline. Could you imagine how messed up that would have been?
11. Timeline Error and Wrong Ages
The story takes place after 18 years after the final act but they keep getting the timeline wrong.
In episode 3, kaede said the bone-eater's well stopped working after 15 years.
In episode 39, kagome said she hasn't seen her family in 14 years.
Despite the yashahime creators making jaken and the tree of ages saying that rin is supposedly 18, she is really 15.
The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained in databooks that rin is 7-8 years old in the beginning, sota is 8-9 years old, and kohaku is 11 years old.
In the 3 year time skip at the end of the final act rin is 11, sota is 11-12, and kohaku is 14.
4 years later when towa, setsuna, moroha were born, rin would be 15, sota would be 15-16, and kohaku is 18.
When they were 4 years old, Rin was 19, sota was 19-20, and kohaku was 22.
10 years later in the present as they are 14 years old, rin is 29 not 32, sota is 29-30, and kohaku is 32.
The reason the creators tried to age sota and rin up is because they forgot.
12. Copied Information
If you watched yashahime, you would immediately notice the constant copy and pasting from the original series and the final act. They're trying to do this to bring back memorable feelings to the new series.
Ex.
Even though the rainbow pearls were created from the sacred jewel and have its essence, as they just copied lesser powerful versions of it.
towa, setsuna, and moroha fighting mistress three eyes to remember the fight between inuyasha and kagome with mistress centipede.
setsuna not wanting to be a hanyo is a reference of sesshomaru disliking hanyo.
towa being controlled by the hitokon like the little boy, but how did it appear in the modern era without being seen.
setsuna remembering mei thanking her is to remember rin smiling at sesshomaru.
moroha appearing in the room naked without shame just like inuyasha.
grandpa higurashi giving moroha, who had a weird look on her face, a kappa foot just like he gave kagome, who also had a weird on her face, a kappa foot as well.
13. Sesshomaru
Personally, I've never really liked sesshomaru as just like miroku, jaken, sango, especially shippo and kagome. As in yashahime, sesshomaru became bland and terrible.
Out of all of the characters whose personalities and motives changed from the original series, The one who got it the worse was Sesshomaru. Despite him not being on screen for very long in the first season and the currently ongoing second season, he's barely said anything. To be fair, Sesshomaru wasn't having full-blown conversations with everyone, but he at least has some conversations with other characters. Here he barely says anything.
He's also not very emotional, which was the same in the original series, but with what has happened in the second season of Yashahime, you'd think the writers would give him some kind of emotional moments not the sick ones of sesshomaru holding rin when the curse was placed on her in episode 27 and it being taken off her in episode 37.
In season 1, sesshomaru has barely appeared and mostly made short cameos and flashbacks.
Ex. In episode 18, sesshomaru only appeared for a short time to quickly fight kirinmaru, orders jaken to not say anything then they leave.
The plot for him is really bad and doesn't make any sense, sesshomaru takes towa and setsuna shortly after they're born, stay away from them and refuses to help them when they were 4 years because homura and zero, who he can easily defeat, who kill them herself and kill rin, who said she would rather die than let them be sacrificed for her sake, but changed his mind when they were 14 years old. And sesshomaru idiotically listened to jaken sealing into the tree of ages and sealing inuyasha and kagome away into the black pearl because they thought they would go after zero and killer which would also kill rin, even though they would find another way to save her.
Even though, sesshomaru secretly gave setsuna items and tasks over the 6 years she's lived in the hidden hanyo village, he's a terrible father as he doesn't tell them anything, basically an absent father, left towa and setsuna to face kirinmaru and setsuna was killed, completely left the task of setsuna saving rin to her and didn't do anything as kohaku and sota were more fathers to them instead of himself.
The creator of yashahime could've made janis or kaname kururugi canon in the series and giving them a story of how they came to permanently live the feudal era, or a new female character with a background but instead they disgustingly chose rin, a girl he knew since she was 7-8 and mostly treated like a daughter.
In Yashahime, sesshomaru is a terrible husband as he doesn't see rin as an equal and majority of the time still has the father-daughter dynamic and treats her like a pet.
Ex. shortly after towa and setsuna, sesshomaru didn't say a word to rin and took the twins without a single explanation to anyone other than a rite of courage and cowardice, commanded her to follow him and stay like a dog especially in episodes 46 and 47 when he commanded her watch him battle kirinmaru, and even in episode 48 when he still ordered him to follow him. The only time sesshomaru is ordered around is in episode 35 by rin.
In season 2, sesshomaru majority of the time just stands and watches things happen for plot, even when he's in the grim butterfly, in a coma, and letting others such as towa, setsuna, and moroha to do the work.
For an example, In Inuyasha, the final act, when they are in the underworld and Kohaku tells him that Rin isn't breathing. Sesshomaru shows genuine fear and concern, which I believe is the only time he acts this way. Then when he learns that Tenseiga can't revive her, he blames himself for it and says that nothing was worth losing her. It's one of the most powerful moments for Sesshomaru and shows just how far he's come. Whether you see Sesshomaru care towards Rin as Fatherly or not, this scene shows just how much he cares for her.
Let's compare that to in Yashahime.
After Sesshomaru kills the dream butterfly, it causes the Silver scale curse to spread more quickly, which will eventually kill Rin. She's pretty much dying in front of him, and he has no way to stop it himself. So how does he act?
He says nothing, even when she talks to him and he keeps the same face.
sesshomaru separated moroha from inuyasha and kagome for 14 years and the one who gets scolded for badmouthing him was inuyasha, who was rightfully so, and he was instantly forgiven, kagome saying 'i'm sure he had his reasons', sat inuyasha, and scolded him for blaming towa and setsuna, even though he wasn't. setsuna also shouldm't have to apologize on sesshomaru's behalf.
He later kills the dream butterfly to motivate Setsuna to be able to use her Yukari no Tachikiri, which nearly causes Rin to die because of him and finally, he doesn't go and save Towa when she is being tortured all night by Zero and Nanahoshi by his minature galaxy.
It feels like they were trying to frame it as Sesshomaru could be genuinely working with Kirinmaru, but in doing so, they make him look like he's the worst father of the year. And with how long this mystery dragged out, it didn't make Sesshomaru look any better.
It definitely it's completely different writing when it comes to Sesshomaru in both series, with Inuyasha, Rumiko wrote him a clear goal and a conclusion. In Yashahime, they're trying to one-up the audience with their mystery and are unintentionally wreaking his entire character.
14. Not Naming Characters
Despite new characters such as moe higurashi, mei higurashi, and aiya receiving names there are lot of characters that still don't have names such as sesshomaru's mother, weasel man, gokoku village headman, northern demon slayers leader, the granny, the lady, the muscle, the ninja, and so many others.
Despite knowing that his name is toga, they still refer to him as the great dog demon.
15. Nerfed
Just like Boruto and Dragon Ball Super, the power scaling doesn't make any sense. In Super, beerus, who is a god, is fighting goku, who turned into a super saiyan god, after a period of time transforms back into a simple super saiyan but doesn't make any sense that he can still can fight beerus, they tried to explain away this through beerus but it doesn't work. In Boruto, there have been many multiple fights where the older generations are nerfed to make the younger generation shine like when jugo hit konohamaru and he couldn't move for a few days but when jugo hit boruto he easily recovered, when karin had to become weak with her chakra chain in order for sarada to be strong, or when in the time travel arc with urashiki that sasuke was constantly weak in order for a genin naruto, boruto, and jiraiya to shine. It also happens in more sequels like in yashahime.
Ex.
kirinmaru, who is equal to toga, can receive massive injuries from towa and setsuna, hanyos, and moroha, a shihanyo.
Zero, who possessed all of her 7 rainbow pearls that contain her immense yokai power that can summon an even greater demonic power that is far too strong and dangerous to even exist and the essence of the sacred jewel, can easily be killed by a feral towa.
The grim comet/grim butterfly, that has vast amounts of demon energy that it took toga, kirinmaru, sesshomaru, and inuyasha to defeat small fragments of it, was being completely held back by miroku and kagome, not even combined can match midoriko and kikyo.
towa creating the twin azure dragon wave but not sesshomaru.
16. UnInteresting Fights
Majority of the fights are boring and rushed.
Ex.
In season 1, you would notice that more than half the fights are recycled from the final act manga and the original series.
towa battling the human boys.
totetsu battles against miroku, hisui, towa, and setsuna.
totetsu and riku battling each other.
In season 2, the fights are stale and lack originality.
towa and setsuna battling rock fiends.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru.
osamu battling riku and towa.
Ex. In the final fight against kirinmaru and sesshomaru, the fighting moves sesshomaru uses are recycled from his fight against magatsuhi.
17. Bland Characters
Most of the yashahime characters lack character and are boring.
Ex.
Despite Raita and Futa having their parents killed by different species, different abilities, and opposite appearances, they're basically the same as one said something and the other agrees and repeats what the other said, they say 'take this' and attack. Raita and Futa's appearances didn't put much thought into them and when they're older the difference they get is armor.
With Mei Higurashi, we're told about her personality from towa but she's annoying and reminds me of kagome and rin when she wants to run into dangerous situations to resolve problems, bossy, and whiny.
Moe Higurashi rarely has a personality as the naive overly cheerful person that reminds us of ms. higurashi and her appearance looks like a light brown haired kagome and the only thing we know about her is that she's a traveling violinist.
takechiyo wasn't much of a character as is a less annoying version of shippo and a boring background story with his twin brother.
18. Sudden Recovery
In the original, inuyasha sustained damages from powerful and mst of them took him a while to heal but in yashahime mostly everyone, including towa, setsuna, and moroha, heals instantly from their injures even hisui.
It feels like when characters are facing powerful enemies they instantly get up without a scratch despite having injuries. I know they're hanyos from a powerful dog demon but it's contrived.
Ex. setsuna becomes injured after being restrained by mistress three eyes but quickly recovered to defeat her.
towa was weak after being released from hitokon's control but instantly recovered when setsuna wanted to remove the hitokon from mei's face.
miroku battled gaga gozen and was instantly defeated and weakened but instantly recovered when he battled setsuna.
In episode 18, towa, setsuna, and moroha battled kirinmaru and easily lost but instantly recovered.
19. Plot
The plot was really stupid and to be dramatic.
Ex.
In season 1, ever since episode 2 when towa and setsuna separated, they constantly remind us for drama by memories and/or through other people in episodes 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 20, especially episodes 8, 10, and 14.
placing a seal on setsuna and her main weapon to keep her demon blood in check but during the series she's never fully tries to master it, only a small piece of it known as the blood blade. they made setsuna have a seal but not towa, that's not fair.
Throughout season 2, everyone was saying that towa needed to fight with a demon weapon and not something made by humans but at the last episodes she's fighting with the kikujmonji, a weapon made from humans.
moroha getting through mount musubi's barriers.
In episode 17, setsuna, who doesn't even know anything about sesshomaru and the dog demon clan, suddenly knows the dog demon clan is capable of discovering demonic energies from a distance with their unusually sharpened sense of smell but in episode 23 she questions her clan.
In episode 24, riku stabbing kirinmaru, who had his guard down, to weakened him for towa, setsuna, and moroha and towa stabbing kirinmaru.
In episode 24, setsuna dying so towa and moroha can instantly power up.
In episode 38, towa, setsuna, and moroha attacking kirinmaru and sesshomaru taking kirinmaru's attack and sending them into the black pearl.
In episode 39, kirinmaru showing up and demanding sesshomaru to come out before battling inuyasha, kagome, and moroha.
osamu kirin, who barely appeared in the series, was suddenly the villain of the last episodes of season 2.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru and later riku, who was heavily injured, easily taking rion away from kirinmaru.
In episode 47, towa dying so rion can face fear who ended up dying again anyway.
It doesn't make any sense, Rin was stuck in the tree for 4 before the silver scale curse slowly started to spread but suddenly when the dream butterfly was killed it spread all over her body within a few episodes.
20. Rushed Abilities
The abilities within the yashahime series are quickly inherited and lackluster.
Ex. towa instantly receives the energy blade after meeting the mistress three eyes.
towa receiving the azure dragon wave.
after myoga explains inuyasha's tessaiga absorbing demon energy, towa instantly receives the skill to absorb demon energy with her energy blade.
moroha receiving the crimson backlash wave.
towa receiving twin azure dragon wave.
In the original, the tenseiga was able to revive people once with no time limit as it revived goshinki and rin but in yashahime they decided to give it a stupid 1 hour time limit.
setsuna quickly mastering the yukari no tachikiri after 2 incidents with sea snake woman and mayonaka.
towa instantly mastering the zanseiken.
setsuna instantly achieving vermilion bird ambush.
moroha instantly mastered the bow she received from her parents.
21. Background Characters
The creators of yashahime really didn't put any thought into what to do with the characters.
Ex. The higurashi family basically didn't do anything as in episode 2 they were just get kidnapped and standing there and in episode 3 when towa, setsuna, and moroha were interacting with each other, all they did was silently standing there and didn't speak to them.
With shiori, they barely changed anything about her appearance except she now wears woven sandals and different hairpins and worst short as she doesn't and let's little children fight for her.
With koga and ayame, they only make a very small non-speaking cameo at the end of episode 15 and don't even have children of their own.
22. Hairstyles
The creators of yashahime really didn't put much thought into most hairstyles such as takechiyo, kikunosuke, kin'u, gyokuto, rion, and futa have the same styles.
23. Bad Animation
In episodes of season 1 and 2, you can see multiple terrible animation mistakes.
Ex. Setsuna flying away from towa and moroha.
zero laying on the ground and rin coming out from her slumber when zero died.

Sango cosplay update and a beginner armor tutorial!
For this cosplay, I made the shin armor, elbow armor, pauldrons, armor fasteners, and painted the shirt/sword.
The photos are of before and after I revamped this cosplay! The tutorial will be under the cut with progress photos!
Tumblr media
This tutorial will cover the creation of everything you see in this photo except for sleeveless gloves (lol), and the mask, which is real metal and was commissioned from Hollowearthworkshop on Facebook.
Tumblr media
To make the pauldrons and the elbow armor I bought and repurposed elbow and knee pads from the thrift store. I cut off all of the fabric so it was essentially just the plastic shells left. I set aside the velcro for fastening the elbow pads later.
Tumblr media
In my first go at this cosplay, I painted the armor/knee pads with acrylic paint and cut out a piece of large foam to be her front armor. I then lined them with a silver acrylic paint outline. As a final touch, I coated it in mod podge to keep it from chipping.
I sadly do not have photos of when I made all the red armor straps/fasteners but to make them you essentially just have to sew so many tubes, turn them inside out, sew the open side closed, and iron those babies to hell and back. For the criss-cross back piece, I sewed the wrong sides together so it would make an infinity sign or figure eight. To put that piece on, I put it on like backpack straps.
In total, she has the crisscross back piece, a red strap on each shoe, red straps securing her elbow armor, red straps securing the shin armor, and a long piece that ties around her waist securing her armor and sword.
For the waist piece, I made it wider than it should be because it gets wider towards the end. To do this I just folded it to be smaller on my waist and ironed it to stay folded and left the ends unironed so it would be larger at the tips.
I do recommend that you make the fabric pieces that will be on your back and elbows a bit larger than they need to be (half an inch or so) so you have room for movement! When my elbows are bent I need more fabric than when they are straight, and since I used cotton there is not much stretch to them. To keep them from sliding I safety pin them to my shirt.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the shirt, I went for a fairly easy route to make it. I just bought a rigid black turtle neck from Value Village and painted the details on with puffy fabric paint for the red to create the illusion of a seam and then used regular gold fabric paint for the gold accents. For the button, I just found a silver button at Joann's that was the right shape and sewed it on.
DO NOT LET THE PAINT DRY BEFORE YOU TAKE OFF THE TAPE! For more crisp lines take the tape off while it is wet! I taped my shirt down to the floor so it wouldn't move around and smear and kept all roommates and animals clear of the area until it had dried.
Tumblr media
For the sword, I really lucked out and found a cheap katana at a thrift store that I just painted with acrylics and then sealed with mod podge. It was super fun to do and I was pleased with the outcome. Plus, her katana is way easier to make and store than hiraikotsu lol.
Tumblr media
(This is the photo I used as a reference for the back of her armor)
Now, you can stop there for her armor and have a fine time. It definitely worked for me. I used basic pink leg warmers for her shin armor and called it good because that is what I had the time and resources for. However, if you have time + resources to vamp it up more, here is what I did.
Tumblr media
I bought Artminds modeling foam from Michael's and sculpted it onto my preexisting armor to make it smoother in an attempt to get rid of the obvious knee/armor pad look. I really recommend using water to smooth it out while it's still wet. It'll be sticky while working with it but it makes it sooo much more smooth. I personally didn't have the correct tools to sand it out after it had dried so this was a great way to get the final product to have a nice finish.
One thing that I disliked about my first attempt was that the pauldrons were way too small. So while I kept the elbow armor the same size, I drastically built out the pauldrons by an inch or so, checking how they looked in the mirror periodically to make sure I wasn't going too big with them.
Tumblr media
they got a little turtle-y and I found I had to reshape them every few hours to make sure they didn't dry in the wrong shape. I did find it useful to make one at a time and use the one I wasn't working on as a mold by covering it in plastic wrap and placing the one being worked on over top of it.
Tumblr media
Once I got them to the right size, I rolled out a piece of foam to make a long cylinder and then carefully applied it to the edge of both the pauldrons and the elbow armor. This takes a lot of patience and water was very useful during this stage to help smooth it out. I found that the modeling foam lost shape easily and when picked up to move around it would stretch out and get super thin in spots.
To fix this I would scrunch it back together in the too-small spots and in areas where it was larger than it should be I gently pulled and rolled it to the underside of the armor so I could keep the cylinder shape but move the excess foam somewhere it wouldn't be visible. This also kind of helped to attach it more securely (I think...).
I once again used pink acrylic paint, silver metallic acrylic paint, and glossy mod podge to finish them off.
Tumblr media
I think this system worked out pretty well and I am much more pleased with the armor now than I was before!
Tumblr media
The elbow pads were easy to attach because I super glued the velcro from their old fasteners to the inside of the armor and to the red fabric fasteners.
Tumblr media
Velcro wasn't really a possibility for fastening the pauldrons because of how much they curved so I had myself a little reduce-reuse-recycle moment and mod-podged some thrifted doilies to the inside of them. Doilies or mesh would work super well for this, basically, the goal of this is to make something that's easy to get a safety pin in and out of and that is flexible so that it still sits correctly on your shoulder.
I also... marked which way the armor should be facing up to look best on my shoulders so I wouldn't forget in my sleep-deprived getting ready for con haze.
Tumblr media
For the shin and front/back armor I... made my own patterns using printer paper, a ruler, and a sharpie.
Tumblr media
For the shin armor, I measured my knee to make sure that the piece that would be covering it was both long and wide enough (I did four inches) and then free-handed the approximate shape of my knee. I made the band of the shin armor waaaay longer than it needed to be because it's way easier to take them in than to make them larger.
The most ingenious moment I had during this was making the band go up higher than it should so I could make a little flap to hem it down so I wouldn't have to worry about raw edges. (It was cut along the knee piece to make it a clean fold).
Tumblr media
I used quilted pink cotton as my fabric for a fun texture. Her armor is demon hide and this fabric is used for making armor padding that you wear under chainmail so it was fun to make armor out of something it's actually made out of!
After I cut out my fabric with my nifty pattern, I used silver metallic bias tape on the applicable areas. I very sadly learned that the only place you can buy silver metallic bias tape, not in bulk from amazon or from etsy is... Hobby Lobby... so there is that
Tumblr media
Then I got to sewing that bad boy! Here is what the back side looked like. I decided to hem the raw edges on the bottom just for my own peace of mind since it won't be visible/it'll be tucked into my boots. It's the thought that counts, I guess.
Sewing bias tape is pretty simple, you just stick to the outskirts of the bias tape and go slowly.
Tumblr media
I measured and re-measured to make this... so many times. I still think I should have gone thinner on my final product but... I digress. To make this pattern I essentially just made a very top-heavy cross or t shape and then connected the bottom into a triangle and made a rectangle on top that I rounded the top of. The inner lines on this pattern were me testing out the idea of a smaller size that I did not end up going with.
Tumblr media
I did try on and test my patterns before I cut/sewed anything and I highllyyyy suggest this. I do not have a photo of me sewing her groin/butt armor but it was essentially a longer more convoluted version of the shin armor but this time with a point! Points may seem scary but you just have to fold the bias tape on the point and pin it carefully before sewing it. I did leave all the edges raw because they would be covered completely by bias tape anyways and it would have just been a waste of time.
One thing I will say about the actual design of Sango and her armor is that the back piece of armor does not have a rounded top and is much shorter... I, however, did not fully process that information before I made both pieces to be the same so I have decided that I will not care about that.
Tumblr media
I'm still really pleased with the outcome!
And that is how I made and updated my Sango cosplay at different skill levels! For her pants, I just wear black leggings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then here are my cosplay test photos! I have yet to take the new and improved version to a con, but will very soon!
**Note these photos were taken before I figured out the doilies method so the pauldrons are not fastened as securely as they normally would be**
The contact lens I am wearing are the Geo Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown (Bambi series) from Pinky Paradise :)
If you have any questions on any parts of these feel free to send them in!

Creating Sango 2.0
WARNING: VERY LONG POST AHEAD!
I said I wouldn’t do it. I said I’d only have one version of Sango - her kimono version. But I had an extra pair of black pants and matching black shirt just like what my first Sango has under her kimono, so the base was there. Plus, the first time we see Sango, she’s wearing her slayer uniform. And most of the figures made of her depict her in that outfit. It’s iconic. It had to be done.
I asked several people on Etsy who make doll clothes if they could make Sango’s armor, but was always met with a resounding no due to difficulty. So I knew if I wanted this, I’d have to do it myself.
Talk about breaking out of my comfort zone! I’m one of those people who commissions clothes to be made and pays someone else to do a reroot because I just can’t do either of those things myself. But I was determined to try to make the armor. I already had a spare head, and it was already rerooted into the ponytail style because I was sure this could be pulled off somehow, and making the Hiraikotsu is the easiest weapon of anyone so far thanks to my husband’s Glow Forge, so I knew it had to be done.
The first thing I did was make the arm wraps that we see on her hands. I used the same method as I did the first time - after painting, I strung bias tape through the sleeves and then strung them back through once they wrapped around the doll’s hand.
So, the first step was the armor itself. I began watching YouTube videos and looking up tutorials on the best way to make doll armor. There are several methods out there from EVA cosplay foam to hot glue to layered fabric sewn with fluff inside it.
I finally settled on EVA foam. I’d never used it before, but it was highly recommended by other doll creators. So I did some research, got the thinnest option I could find (2mm I believe), and got to work making a template. Hubby was able to cut the pattern out on his Glow Forge, so yay for not having to worry about perfect line cutting! I designed the pattern in Photoshop, so that helped give it crisp, clean lines.
After the foam was cut, we used hubby’s heat gun to shape the foam to the doll’s body. That worked great! I’d sealed it with Mod Podge before (most cosplay people say to use another product, but considering this was meant for a doll and not a real cosplay event, and I had Mod Podge on hand, that’s what I used), so then it was time to paint.
Getting the right color was a challenge. Sango’s armor is often times depicted as being pink, but my figures all show it as more of a coral/salmon shade. In certain shots, I did see that shade. It looked more pink in the nighttime scenes. I tried a few shades of pink, and even experimented with mixing some together, but the shades just seemed off. It was more of a Barbie pink than a Sango pink. So then I bought some coral acrylic paint. It was a bit dark, so I added some white to the mix, and BOOM! I got the color I wanted! Or so I thought... I continued to second guess myself after looking at the doll’s eyeshadow, because it seems to kind of clash with the armor. I didn’t really want to repaint it because the doll had been rerooted already (this time around, I did the face painting first so I didn’t have to worry about messing up the hair like I did with the kimono version)... but then again, they’d be less noticeable then the armor.
I asked several people what they thought, and shared several source pictures, until someone commented that A) Sango’s name means “coral” and B) this picture (below) that I shared is an official character design which had not been adjusted for gradients and surrounding tones (these would affect the armor’s appearance). Plus, Inuyasha had two phases of animation - the first was the traditional one, and the second was digital. The former required colors to change. Seeing as I wanted to stay true to the original version, I found myself looking at this picture the most for reference:
Tumblr media
Even in this shot, the armor looks less pink than the kimono. So then the painting process began. To get the gray outlines of the armor, I just sketched out the design using a ruler and pencil and filled that in with gray. I then sealed the pieces with Mod Podge again.
Tumblr media
After all that, I began assembling the armor. I’m a big fan of not making anything permanent because you just never know. Five years from now, I could have better armor than I do now. But if it’s all glued together, I can’t take it apart and just replace it. I’d have to start over.
So my initial idea was to use Velcro to secure the padding. I also used it to secure the red straps to the black suit in places where the padding would cover it.
Well, at that point, I was really second-guessing the foam. The elbow and shoulder pads had lost their shape, and when trying to bend them over their respective parts of the doll, the paint began to crack. Probably because I used Mod Podge and not a higher end item. Then, when trying to position the padding properly, I had to remove the armor from the sticky side of the Velcro a few times, which caused the paint and sealer to come off entirely. But most concerning was that the shoulder pads were too small, seemingly smaller than they’d been before. Perhaps the heat gun and/or paint/sealer caused them to shrink. Same thing with the elbow pads, and I didn’t even look at the others because at this point I was thinking I should try a different method.
So many of my things have been made with bias tape and cardstock. So I thought, why not print my pattern out on cardstock, stack and glue several layers together to make it thicker, and then wrap it with bias tape fabric (it doesn’t fray like fat quarters)? That way, if I made a mistake, it would be an easy fix. Sure, the lines may not be quite as straight and clean as the EVA foam being cut with the Glow Forge (I don’t have a Cricut), but I can round out the edges with sandpaper or a nail file. So I got to work doing that, printing out various size options for each armor piece in draft form and holding them all up next to the doll to see which ones would fit the best. After making a decision, I put multiples of each on one file, printed it out on a piece of cardstock paper, and began cutting and gluing them all together.
Once the cardstock was dry, I sanded down any rough edges to make them as uniform as possible, then wrapped and glued bias tape (somehow I found some that was almost 4″ wide, but haven’t been able to find any more since) around the pieces. When that was done, I painted the fabric in the coral shade I’d chosen, then used the same method as I’d used with the foam for the gray edges. I was super happy with how it looked!
Please pardon my mess of a table in the progress photos LOL:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was then time to apply the armor to the black pants and shirt. I used velcro with a sticky back to accomplish that, and it worked great. I used the thinnest velcro I could find to reduce bulk, and in this case, it was perfect. But then came the shoulder and elbow pads, plus all the red wraps that hold all the pieces in place. My velcro is circular, but it was wider than even the shoulder pads, which made it visible. That’s no good. Plus, I was using velcro to help hold all the red wraps in place as well, which created more bulk. So I had to rethink that.
I tried to sew snap buttons and hooks and eyes on the red bias tape wrap, but the bulk was still there and it was much more difficult than just sticking velcro in place. So then I tried something else - I cut the velcro into smaller pieces, then used one piece of it to stick the red bias tape to the shirt in the appropriate place, which allowed one velcro side to be facing up while the sticky part held the bias tape against the shirt. I put the opposite side of the velcro (also cut into a smaller shape) on the underside of the elbow/shoulder pads, then stuck it in place. And that did it! The bulk was gone... for the most part.
All the armor pieces were a great size, and I was able to secure them without permanently gluing them. But they weren’t conformed to the shape of the doll’s body. I’d noticed while gluing the layers together the pieces could be shaped pretty easily. But with the fabric on them, I couldn’t do that again. So I took a chance and used my husband’s heat gun on these armor pieces. I started with a small piece first in the event the method failed so it would be easy to remake. But alas, it worked perfectly! The heat gun allowed me to bend and shape the armor pieces against the doll’s body just like I did with the EVA foam, and the shape is still holding! Plus, shaping it around the various joints reduces the bulk. I was so happy this method worked! I have a feeling I’ll be using the heat gun quite a bit in the future!
Tumblr media
I then took a wider piece of red bias tape in the same shade and wrapped it around the waist to be the sash that holds her sword (it’s technically a wakizashi, which is a shorter/smaller katana). I didn’t tie it in a bow/knot because that made it too thick and it didn’t look right. So for now it stays like this!
Next up was the boots. There are several tall Barbie boots available, bust most of them are high heeled, and that’s not what Sango wears. Who can slay demons in heels? LOL I’d set aside a pair of Barbie boots a while back, but I wasn’t a big fan of them. They were one of the farmer sets, so they had the mud traction bottoms and a weird buckle/texture on the side:
Tumblr media
I thought once I painted them, they’d grow on me. But before I could do that, I found a post showcasing this fashion pack on Instagram, and my jaw dropped open. I knew I had to get this pack JUST for the boots:
Tumblr media
Absolute perfection! There are buckles on the sides, but when they arrived, I tried them on the doll and was able to put the buckles on the inside, not the outside, of the foot, so you can’t even notice them. And they slid right on the feet/legs over the pants! It was meant to be!
With the boots in place, it was time to begin shaping the knee pads. I’d already cut them out, but I couldn’t put them in place until I had the boots. So the boots got painted black, then I put the knee pads above them. I wanted them to simply wrap around the leg and secure with velcro in the back. I had to trim them down a bit since the wrap was a bit too long, but I was still stuck with how to fasten the ends without overlapping them, which would cause bulk. So I wound up taking a scrap piece of fabric and sticking it between the two ends, and the ends are held to that piece with velcro. It doesn’t look the cleanest, but it’s on the back side, so I can live with it!
Tumblr media
The red straps on the bottoms of the boots were next. That was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be - I just took some small strips of the same red bias tape I’d used for the armor, sewed the ends together with elastic, and slipped them right over the boots. DONE! The elastic is on the bottom and not visible, at least not to me.
Then I began with the wraps on the knee pads, which cover the top of the wrapped part and meet in front of the knee in a bow. I used embroidery floss to pull that off - I glued the floss to the tops of the knee pad wraps, then tied a bow in the front. When I was completely done, only then did I trim the ends of the bows in case they came undone and I still needed to retie them. I also covered them in fabric Mod Podge to give them the proper shape and keep them from becoming loose on their own.
Tumblr media
You’d think the armor would be done right about now, right? Nope. There was still a collar to make, a button/bead to put on it, and the yellow design.
First was the collar. I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull that off considering the shirt itself had no collar. And no way was I going to attempt to sew one. So then I looked at my black bias tape, which is the same size as the red I was using. I held it around the neck and formed the shape, and it didn’t look bad! So I then took one of my tiny paintbrushes and painted the edge red (the closest shade I could find to match the red bias tape), then wrapped it around the doll accordingly and secured it with velcro. The back piece is tucked under the red crisscross bias tape, so it will help keep the collar in place but is still hidden.
Tumblr media
The collar should technically be taller, but I’m afraid that will mess up the effect on the front of the shirt considering it’s supposed to be secured with that button. This is why I want nothing permanent - maybe I’ll think of something in the future for that, and it’ll be a simple fix. If not, hey, I’m still happy with it!
I wasn’t sure how to do the button that’s meant to hold the armor together, but I took a chance with a bead I’d found that looked close to the shape, and I think it turned out great!
Tumblr media
Then came the ultimate challenge... that yellow design. I can’t draw, and no way was I going to do so on that shirt. If I messed that up, there was no way to fix it. So I looked up pictures of it, thinking maybe there was a printable version of it for cosplay or something. Well, that proved insanely difficult - no two designs were alike. So I’d have to do what I did with Kagome’s books - use patterns taken from the show and make it myself.
Of course, different shots show the design differently. Sometimes it’s bigger than others. Then trying to find just a straight, forward-facing shot of it in its entirety, in decent quality, is no picnic. So finally I found a picture of the Toynami figure facing forward. I cropped the yellow design in Photoshop, created a large file, copied and pasted that design in there, and began using various tools to trace over the pattern. Why did I do that? Because if I’d just used the copy/pasted image, the quality would be terrible. It was so blurry it was a challenge even to trace. I had to refer to other pictures as I went just to make sure I had the shape right.
But finally I was finished. Then I did the same thing with it as I did for the armor - I printed it out in a variety of sizes and held it onto the doll to determine the best option. But how to put it on the outfit? I decided sticker paper would be the best option. And I actually found some clear sticker paper, so that would be perfect!
Or so I thought... unfortunately, because the sticker paper was clear, the printed design was way too dark once it was actually on the shirt. Putting it on a light color was fine, but a dark color? Nope. So I had to get a second batch of sticker paper, this time with a white background. I put a black box behind each design in Photoshop and printed it on the sticker paper. The black box allowed me to cut as close as I could to the design with an Xacto-knife, but didn’t require me to get so close that I cut something off. The final result was great! Not perfect, and closeup you can see the imperfections, but I’ll take it!
Tumblr media
For the last phase, it was time to put the head back on the body (I didn’t want to risk messing the hair up while I was trying to make the armor). I used an extra piece of the red bias tape for her hair wrap - coincidentally, it was a discarded attempt for one of the elbow pads that had snap buttons sewn on it. It fit around the ponytail perfectly!
At last the armor was finished! That was definitely the most complicated outfit I’d ever done. But I’m very proud of myself for doing it all by myself (except the black pants and shirt) from scratch. Hopefully I don’t get the idea to make more complicated pieces like this LOL!
Back of the armor:
Tumblr media
And that’s just the armor... there’s still her weapons and mask to do!
The Hiraikotsu was easy. I used the same method as before - hubby printed out Hiraikotsu, I sanded the black burnt edges down, painted it, and then wrapped it with bias tape I’d painted in the desired color. I then used the same bows as before, cut them down, painted them, and glued them to the bias tape. Then I made tassels out of embroidery floss and glued them onto the bows (one had a red bead attached). This time, however, no black strap is needed, since we only see that when Sango is wearing her kimono and walking with the weapon as opposed to carrying/wielding it. This also resulted in the bows being placed differently. With the black strap, the bead is on the bottom. With her armor, it’s on the top. But not having the black strap did make it a little easier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, there was still the question of how the doll can hold the weapon. Sango holds Hiraikotsu at the bow under the beaded bow. But if I ever want it to lay flat, it wouldn’t be able to because it would be sticking out. Plus, getting the doll’s hand around the bias tape AND the bow, with a tassel in the way, definitely sounded difficult. So I had to think of something else.
Tumblr media
I settled for taking a spare piece of bias tape, painting it, and wrapping it around the bias tape already on Hiraikotsu, securing it behind it with velcro. Then, I pinched that piece to allow it to fit inside the doll’s hand. So now it looks like she’s holding the weapon, but the bow is still flat against it.
Tumblr media
If I had another bow, I’d probably add one to that spare piece. Maybe when more Christmas stuff comes out at Hobby Lobby, I’ll pick up some more.
Next was the sword. You wouldn’t believe how many swords I ordered trying to find the right one. First, it had to have a sheath. Second, it had to be the right size. And third, it couldn’t be so heavy that it would A) pull the waist sash down and not be supported by it, or B) be unable to be held by the doll. I ordered SO many swords... and a vast majority of them, despite being advertised as 1/6 scale, were way too big. One of them was actually taller than she is! Others were also a bit too long, but more than that, they were too heavy. I was thinking I may have to wind up making a sword somehow out of more cardboard or something.
Tumblr media
But then I remembered - I had Katana’s sword from DC Super Hero Girls. I’d ordered her specifically for her hands - to be given to Kagome LOL. I knew it would work because it was the right size and it wasn’t heavy - it was designed for those hands. But it didn’t have a sheath, and the guard is a rectangle instead of a circle. But then I did some digging and almost fell over when I found an actual Katana doll with a sword that had a sheath! Plus lots of other ninja weapons, and who can say no to that. It was a 2016 Comic Con exclusive doll, but I found one secondhand on eBay with all her accessories for a significantly cheaper price. So I grabbed that and was determined to make it work, even with the rectangular sword guard.
Tumblr media
I didn’t use that actual sword - it had a more realistic metal look to the blade, and the gold diamonds were painted. The first sword I had has a blade that looks more like the Inuyasha doll’s Tetsusaiga blade (and that’s the doll I made all these to go with), plus it was all a solid color on the top to allow for easier painting.
Sango’s sword doesn’t have the diamond pattern etching, but it’ll have to do. Once painted, you can’t really see it. I painted the handle of the sword, and used my Kotobukiya figure as reference for the purple pattern wrap around it. For the guard, my original plan was to make two identical sword pieces out of cardstock, put holes in the center, slide one over the blade and one over the handle, and sandwich the original guard between them. I couldn’t remove the original, and I didn’t want to try to Dremel/shape it because that probably would have resulted in the whole thing breaking. The sandwich method didn’t work, but when I slid the cardboard guard onto the blade and hooked it to the original guard, I thought it looked pretty good! At the right angle, you can’t even tell the rectangle is still there. VICTORY!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the sheath, I painted it a solid red color to start, and considered attaching purple craft foam to the bottom and using two small heart hole punches for the design. The wrapping created too much bulk and I couldn’t get the shape right. So I decided to paint it by hand. Then I painted the same red color onto a blank spot on the white sticker paper I’d used before, cut out the hearts with the hole punches, and stuck them to the sword. YES!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that was the end of the sword!
Finally, the mask. I knew what I wanted to do with that - I have several Barbie masks from various fashion and accessory packs, and I’d tried one on the doll head, and it fit great! Since this doll has ears that actually stick out more than Barbie’s, the hooks hold it in place nicely.
Tumblr media
(Wow, that mask looks huge on that Barbie - it looks better on the anime head LOL)
So then it was time to paint it. I used the same gray as I used on the armor, and used a red that was as close to the armor’s red bias tape as possible for the strap. The really fun part was painting the little details... I’d printed out some pictures of the mask (the exhibition one since it was the highest quality image), but I couldn’t just stick that onto the mask with sticker paper because it jus didn’t fit or look right. So I did it all by hand... I sketched out my design with a pencil first (actually works great on acrylic paint, even if you use an eraser!), then used another one of my tiny brushes to go over the design in a darker gray. For the final touch, I cut out tiny flower shapes out of cardstock, painted them to match the mask, and then took a needle and thread and strung red thread through them to make the tassels of the mask, and give the flowers kind of a 3D effect as shown in the anime:
Tumblr media
My tassels may be a bit thin, but I didn’t want to string too much through and risk tearing the paper (it’s only one layer). I wasn’t even sure if it would work to be honest, but it did! Yay!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The imperfections are much more noticeable in such a zoomed in photo lol)
And that is IT! That is the entire process of Sango the demon slayer in her armor. Definitely the most intense and challenging project I’ve done to date, but I’m very pleased with the overall result.

Toonami Weekly Recap 12/04/2022
My Hero Academia Season 6 Paranormal Liberation War Arc EP#114 (01) - A Quiet Beginning: A month prior to the events of the incoming War, Hawks is approached by Twice who asks him for advice. Hawks thinks about how the merged-villain group of the Paranormal Liberation Front has split its members into regiments, and their plans for world domination. He also recalls how Twice had provided him the location of Tomura Shigaraki's current experimentation, due to his trust in him. In the present, a group of Pro Heroes meet at the Police Force Headquarters where they plan to split into two teams, one which will storm the Liberation's headquarters at the Gunga Mountain Villa, and one that will raid the Jaku General Hospital to apprehend Doctor Kyudai Garaki, All For One's secondhand man and creator of the Nomu. While Team Edgeshot await in the distance of the Villa for their orders, Team Endeavor confronts Dr. Garaki. He tries to flee but is restrained by Eraser Head, who uses his Erasure Quirk on him, causing his body to rapidly de-age and grow more decrypted. Present Mic confronts him, asking why he used his brilliant science for what he did to Oboro. Mirko busts her way through toward the morgue, warning Endeavor as she comes across a hoard of Nomu in her path. Suddenly, a drill Nomu emerges from the floor, stabbing itself directly into Garaki, revealing him to merely be one of Twice's doubles. As the real Garaki attempts to flee his laboratory, alongside Shigaraki, Mirko breaks through, completely crushing Johnny and destroying several canisters, causing Garaki to scream out in fear.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun EP#04 (17) - Friend: Faputa confronts Reg, and he vaguely recalls that he had previously met her in the past. Wary of eyes of the villagers, Faputa abducts Reg and takes him to her hideout. However, Faputa is confused and hurt that Reg has no memories of her, and expresses her jealousy at Reg accompanying Riko instead. Seeing that he won't learn anything from Faputa, Reg decides to return to the village, but on his way back, he comes across a shower of eternal fortunes and funeral nameplates dropped from Orth, causing him to wonder what is happening on the surface. In the village, Riko recovers from her food poisoning and heads out to search for Reg and Nanachi. Several Hollows attempt to abduct Meinya, but she is saved by the Hollow that previously hurt Meinya by accident. Thankful for the help, Riko befriends the Hollow, who she names Maaa. They head over to a restaurant where Riko encounters the Hollow version of Wazukyan. Meanwhile, Nanachi learns from Majikaja that Belaf has Mitty in his custody. In disbelief, Nanachi heads to Belaf's lair where they indeed find Mitty alive and well, much to their shock. Elsehwere, Vueko appears to be imprisoned along with a number of incomplete Hollows.
Yashahime: The Second Act EP#40 (16) - The Three Princesses Escape: With Sesshomaru growing weaker, Rin and Jaken take him to the Sacred Tree of Ages, as they await Towa and Setsuna's return. Meanwhile, Shippo transports himself and Takechiyo to the village of the demon-slayers and reunites with Sango. Takechiyo explains that Inuyasha and Kagome have been within the Black Pearl all this time, prompting Sango to realize that the time to utilize the Black Hiraikotsu has finally come. Towa manages to summon Tenseiga, but it is embedded in the pedestal that it was once in all those centuries ago. Towa, Setsuna, Moroha uses their combined strength to remove Tessaiga from the pedestal. They escape the Border of the Afterlife, where Shippo is waiting. Moroha keeps the Black Pearl within Izayoi's rouge, as it holds memories that are most precious to her. Rin reunites with Setsuna and Towa for the first time, with Jaken reminding them about Sesshomaru. Towa utilizes the supreme power of the Kyuyokon Root within Zanseiken to absorb all of the Demon Fireball's vast stellar energy. Sesshomaru warns Towa, before her strength diminishes and she falls unconscious.

Sango! So... I feel... like Sango was probably the most pious of the group. You have to have a stong spiritual connection to do the work she and her village did. She had a real sense of duty to her clan. I am haven’t read to the manga but I really want to see how she dealt with losing her family, and chasing the small chance she to be reunited with Kohaku her brother.
In the anime, I really enjoyed her intensity. There were moments were I could see her despair. I love how feminine she is and strong she is and she still had personality! There aren’t a lot of characters with a good balance like that.
As for the drawing, I found a few of my better pieces of supplies. Drawing is really a muscle that needs constant exercise. I used to spend hours drawing every day earlier this year. I haven’t done a lot of drawing since May. Getting back to it is exciting and frustrating all at once. Day 3 is complete and I am getting the hang of it once more.

>Black Hiraikotsu
Bro those are just giant Kamina shades 😂
Sango throws it and it just comes back around and lands on her face and she just defeats Kirinmaru by posing.

Enter Sango, the Demon Slayer: Part 2
I said I wouldn’t do it. I said I’d only have one version of Sango - her kimono version. But I had an extra pair of black pants and matching black shirt just like what my first Sango has under her kimono, so the base was there. Plus, the first time we see Sango, she’s wearing her slayer uniform. And most of the figures made of her depict her in that outfit. It’s iconic. It had to be done.
This has definitely been a long journey, and it took me completely out of my comfort zone. I’d asked several people if they could make Sango’s armor, but was always met with a resounding no. So I knew if I wanted this, I’d have to do it myself. To see behind the scenes of how it all came together, click here!
Now at last, I have Sango in her demon slayer uniform AND her kimono! Two different dolls, because no way am I going to change out their clothes and hairstyles LOL. I’ve got the kimono version in my diorama with all the other dolls, and the armor version in my glass cabinet with my custom-made Kirara. Love it!!!
And now for the main attraction. Enjoy!
Inspired by the first shot we see of her in the anime:

There’s only 6 episodes left…
Man…I just want to know xD
Especially since the action has yet again built up and it’s all suppose to end in that much time???
I’m holding out hope, although I know I shouldn’t be getting them up too high 🥲
So I just watched the latest episode and I'm admittedly confused as well.
The thing is, as of right now, all the new characters have gone to the modern world (2020). Which would make sense, the final battle is going to be between Kirinmaru and the three Yashahimes. They need to be in the same "world". However, it doesn't explain why Sango and Miroku met up in battle mode with "black hiraikotsu"!
I can easily see Sesshrin and Inu/kag waiting for their daughters to return. But Miroku, Sango, and even Kohaku and Hisui have dangling threads that don't make sense unless there's more danger to fight off in the Sengoku era.
So like, this is making me a bit confused. Of course they can always raise the stakes, maybe a side effect of the "Degenerate Age" is that the Sengoku Era also becomes more hostile, which means the OG gang have to fight, while Towa and Co fight Kirinmaru in the modern era.
On the other hand, next episode looks a little more relaxed and cutesy, which is also something they did in season 1 (episode 19,specifically). And we were all dying because, "how else will they resolve everything in 5 episodes when one is a filler!" But they didn't have to, because season 2 was confirmed!
I feel like having a filler type episode so close to the end leans heavily into us getting a 3rd season. But it could also be that next episode advances the plot, in which case maybe this really is goodbye. Gaaah, I really don't know! I don't want the show to end but I have no idea what a season 3 would entail either. Sunrise, give us a sign!!
