god I really wish people weren't so fucking judgmental and cruel towards diabetic people who still eat a lot of sugar. partially because it's not their business, and because how much they clearly don't understand how diabetes works.

༺☆༻
"y/n i swear you better not be with that silly camera." she playfully warns "im not!" i lie trying to get a good shot of her "you are such a liar." she turns around with a goofy smile on her face and you had to take the picture fast because soon right after she tackled you on the bed trying to get your camera
"dorogoy i look bad!" she says wiggling her fingers and she reaches for the camera but i move it from her grasp
i scoff "you never look bad." putting the camera on the bedside table i attack nat with tickles to her stomach
natasha lets out a yelp "y/n-" shes trying to pry your hands from her but fails "admit it natty!" you demand with a playful smile "please baby!" natasha tries to move from your grasp " c'mon just say it!" you giggle "okay! okay! i look amazing all the time." she exaggerates when saying 'amazing' as she tries to catch her breath
you straddle her stomach grinning
"you are so beautiful." you plant a quick peck on her lips "so." a kiss on the lips "fucking." a kiss on her jaw "pretty." a kiss on neck
you reach over her for the camera and she tries to  escape from under you but you push her down.
"stay."
she lays back down with a goofy smile
"can i take one of you?" she whispers
you suck your teeth with a smile fighting to take over your face and pass her the camera
you don't look into the camera you just look at natasha "you are very pretty natty." you want her to know how pretty she genuinely is when she doesn't even notice it
"i love your red hair." you run your finger through her hair "it goes perfectly with your green eyes. your lips are so soft." you bring your hand down and cup her face to drag your thumb over her bottom lip slightly pulling on it before moving to her cheeks "and i love the way your cheekbones glow when you smile" you giggle when you see the tint of red on her face appears
as you look at every little detail on her face from the mole on the right side of her face to the scar she has on her hairline.
you get pulled out of you trance as you hear a
click
natasha took the picture and flagged it till it was fully developed and look at it and smiled
"im keeping this photo of you forever and ever" she kisses the polaroid.

In pleasant darkness | pt. 1 A beautiful nightmare
Tumblr media
* artwork commissioned by @kumamaskart | thanks so much my dear 🤗
🖤 the first chapters will mostly be short fluff and angsty situations… but it’ll get dark soon, TRUST!!
Tumblr media
He examined her closely, doing his best to protect her modesty as he cleaned her wounds. He could see that her body was covered in bruises from head to toe. Some were old. A lot were new. She had been beaten. Repeatedly. The newest-looking marks had left harsh blooms of purplish marks over her arms and legs. His skin began to crawl. The demon itched now.
He did his best to care for her, first concentrating on cleaning the open wounds. As he worked, The tears that shone in her eyes were a fixation on his mind. Why couldn't he move when he saw her face? He could smell her. She smelled so sweet. Sweeter than anything he'd ever come across. He hungered for her, and it was hard to fight it. But he fought nonetheless. Even now, while unconscious her face was still marred by the peril she must have endured.
Looking down at her broken form lying on his bed, the demon was wracked with an uncomfortable and unfamiliar feeling, uneasiness.  Was this what it was like? He leaned forward and pressed his ear to her chest. The slow rhythmic beating of her heart was still slow and the woman's soft breaths fell on his face making him shiver.
He took his time tending to her wounds but as a demon who did not need first aid skills, he knew she would need more help than he could provide. He watched her for a few moments, thinking of what could have led to her predicament. He had chased that scent for nights, which meant she had been out there fighting whatever she faced alone.
He again listens to the soft thump in her chest. The comforting sound was so small,  but he was happy that her heart still beat. No matter how feeble, it still beats.  Even if the demon wasn't ready to say it, as he watched her labored breaths become more shallow the harder she clung to life, he vowed that he would never be the reason that the beautiful rhythm in her chest would ever cease.

"For 60 years, doctors and researchers have known two things that could have improved, or even saved, millions of lives. The first is that diets do not work. Not just paleo or Atkins or Weight Watchers or Goop, but all diets. Since 1959, research has shown that 95 to 98 percent of attempts to lose weight fail and that two-thirds of dieters gain back more than they lost. The reasons are biological and irreversible. As early as 1969, research showed that losing just 3 percent of your body weight resulted in a 17 percent slowdown in your metabolism—a body-wide starvation response that blasts you with hunger hormones and drops your internal temperature until you rise back to your highest weight. Keeping weight off means fighting your body’s energy-regulation system and battling hunger all day, every day, for the rest of your life.
The second big lesson the medical establishment has learned and rejected over and over again is that weight and health are not perfect synonyms. Yes, nearly every population-level study finds that fat people have worse cardiovascular health than thin people. But individuals are not averages: Studies have found that anywhere from one-third to three-quarters of people classified as obese are metabolically healthy. They show no signs of elevated blood pressure, insulin resistance or high cholesterol. Meanwhile, about a quarter of non-overweight people are what epidemiologists call “the lean unhealthy.” A 2016 study that followed participants for an average of 19 years found that unfit skinny people were twice as likely to get diabetes as fit fat people."
A surprising article to find on the Huffington post. I think, especially towards the end, there's still a saturation of healthism and diet talk (just of the "clean eating" variety), but the information about weight discrimination is absolutely on point, especially within the medical field ignoring decades of research.
Not only do we know that weight loss isn't sustainable or possible, we also know that weight discrimination kills, in a myriad of ways. If you actually care about "health" then start unlearning your weight bias NOW and realize that fat people are just people who are a different shape.
And this article doesn't even touch on "the obesity paradox"(the fact that fat people survive heart attacks and injuries BETTER THAN thin people) or the fact that dieting, especially "yo-yo dieting," is a better predictor for heart disease than weight, and that many of the fat people who have cardiovascular diseases have a long history of dieting that (understandably) didn't work.
encouraged to rb but fatphobes will just be blocked.
