i'm not going by gwyn anymore and my best friend in washington, a burly bearded man with piercing eyes and a too-loud everything, who makes dark jokes that make my inner tween edgelord cringe, promised that while he might mess up he's going to do his best and is glad i'm feeling better.

this man also watches Discovery just for stamets and culber even though he doesn't like the show

and he still gets really sad when he remembers the time the super sweet gay couple at the grocery store stopped being affectionate when they saw him

our buddy, who he had a crush on, thought that all his flirting was a heavy-handed bit and was uncomfortable in a "this straight man is mocking me" way until i stepped in to the awkward conversation and said the quiet part out loud

i feel like we need more appreciation for blue collar bisexual bears.

even being non-transitioning trans i feel more seen than he is because at least when i come out to people they believe me (even if they judge my situation)

the bizarre part is, he and i would both tell people i was his boyfriend, and they would still validate my queerness and roll their eyes/disbelieve his

he was in the closet when we first met and now he keeps trying to come out and people are just like "yeah sure buddy, we get it, you'll fuck anything that walks" to the point that *he* has started using "heteroflexible" just because people will at least entertain the thought.
