Wilson is a raven, because corvids are known to be smart and also for the beard, Willow is a whistling kite, part of a group of birds called ‘firehawks’ who intentionally spread fires to flush out prey
Please enjoy this video of what is probably my favorite animal behavior I've ever caught on film. These birds are two juvenile Nazca boobies and as you can see one of them is showing off an extremely impressive ability to toss and catch a small rock/dirt clump with their beak. This behavior is believed to be a form of play in young diving birds that serves to train the finely tuned motor skills they'll need to catch fish once they reach adulthood. Suliform birds are some of the best fishers in the world and after observing this level of skill it's easy to see why!
didn’t he edit a bunch of the vid for george. surely he saw it and beat his shit til it hurt . sorry -bird
oh shit rifht how did i forget the longest fucking most elaborate dnf ritual ever. you know i think we might have just uncovered why dream kept going back to editing it even after he said he wouldn’t anymore
Already posted this on Reddit but I'll post here too.
I caught a budgie in New Jersey. She(?) had been seen flying around outside for about a month before I was able to catch her. I was able to find a cage for free and that is where she is living now. I have not had a bird before but I have tried my best to research what she needs and have provided that to the best of my ability.
She has been with me for about 2 weeks now. I have been trying some taming techniques (like placing my hand in the cage every day) but she has been pretty scared every time and trying to get as far from me as possible even when I am only changing her food or water at the front of the cage. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with a similar situation and had any taming tips. I would really appreciate it!!:)
I caught this magnificent frigatebird chick in the middle of an absolutely enormous yawn but he somehow looks even more ridiculous with his mouth closed
got home from work this evening & as soon as i sat down, the very mellow anna's hummingbird who hangs around our patio a lot dropped down and sat on the tomato cage next to me for a breather :) and right before i went in an Allen's hummingbird visited our feeder, the first one i have seen here so far! it was much more scared of me and left pretty quickly
