I've been checking this game called Shipwrecked 64 and there's this section in the game where you use something like the Eagle Vision and you could use it for the rest of the game in some areas, I wanna see your thoughts on this because the entire time I was thinking of AC
You know what would be fun, nonny?
If we set up the core setting of Shipwrecked 64 to a game that Abstergo developed and released for a limited time.
It was meant to be the Entertainment Division’s first game using a prototype VR system that would later be developed as the Animus gaming console (that’s what they tell the public but it’s not true. The VR system was created using the Animus as the base but they later scrapped it and just modified the Animus).
But the game itself was in development hell for so long, only later having a limited release after the Animus’ first game (Liberation) proved to be successful. It came with a 10% discount voucher that the players can use when preordering Abstergo Entertainment’s next game “Pirates of Nightmare”.
Of course, because this is Abstergo and they’re scummy, the voucher is only available for PREORDER and will expire the moment the game is released.
The game wasn’t even given a digital release with Abstergo going for the physical copy first then just… never bothering to do a digital release because they were betting that Pirates of Nightmares would be so successful no one would remember that weird short 2D platformer that Abstergo released between two major games.
And it sorta worked.
The game wasn’t even played all that much. It was cheaper because it was short and the controls were clunky as it was created for the prototype. Abstergo only did the bare minimum to port it to the latest Animus gaming console and players can’t even access it IF they have one of the newer models (specifically the models released for “Triumph of the Borgias” onward) because it’s not backwards compatible.
Then… a Game Preservation group called “Shipwrecked 17 Recovery Crew” released an emulator that can play it even for the latest model of the Animus gaming console. They released it for free with the emulator saying “if you enjoy this game, please consider donating to the [a link that takes people to one of the site that archives all video games with a list of video games that have not been archived or preserved yet]”. There’s no request for monetization at all so Abstergo isn’t exactly keen on trying to take it down less they suffer a backlash from players who would say “you’re not even rereleasing it so why are you taking down a passion project from fans???”
The emulator also notes that it fixed some of the codes so there should be less bugs and would provide a more ‘complete’ experience.
The setting of the game is quite simple. The player plays as Shipmate 0, the captain of the Ship (no name was given so fans call it ‘ship’). The Ship suffered terrible damage during a severe storm on the sea and Shipmate 0 wakes up in an island and the goal of the player is to find all ‘16’ shipmates that are stranded in the island (with each having their own minigame, of course).
The normal ending would be getting all ‘16’ shipmates safely in a newly repaired Ship.
Most players assumed that it’s called Shipwrecked 17 because Shipmate 0 is counted as one of the shipmates so, in total, there are 17 shipmates.
Then… some starts looking at the code.
And they post the comments on a function called Golden_Ending().
// Unlock Subject 17. // Requirement: kill all 16 Subjects.
They believe the ‘Subject’ are the shipmates and the morbid requirement fascinated some players. Other players do not that “kill” has a different meaning in codes so maybe it’s not actually killing the shipmates ingame.
Then one player realized that they can kill Shipmates using specific methods during the minigame portion. This player unintentionally found this out while he was doing the tag minigame with Shipmate 4 (the duck). The game had been simply chasing Shipmate 4 until he takes a short rest and reaching him during that short rest. BUT if a player was to use their left hand while chasing Shipmate 4 (not during short rest) and the distance is an arm’s length or shorter, the game glitches for a moment and Shipmate 0 actually tackles Shipmate 4, staying oon top of Shipmate 4 as he slumps down.
After that, a short audio of an older sounding man and a woman are played by the screen glitches to show Shipmate 4’s profile window (where it says the actual name of Shipmate 4 is Daniel the Duck) talking about how unstable ‘Daniel’ was becoming and prolonged sessions on the Animus only had minimal effect on helping him stabilize his mind.
The glitch ends with the profile showing a different profile for a fraction of a second and it was only after a few more people tried the method and recorded their playthrough so they can take a screenshot of it later on that the players found out the second profile was the ‘session’ records of a Daniel Cross, complete with dates and summary of each session.
And now, Abstergo is trying to get everyone to stop playing, saying that the game has been tampered with or that someone modified it to include such morbid things, it was meant to be a kids’ game!
People barely cared. The mystery and the ‘horror’ were more interesting than the whole “help these animal-ish creatures get off the island”. Streamers started playing it, trying to find ways to kill the other Shipmates…
They learn new things along the way…
Like how Shipmate 15 is actually pregnant and the way to kill her is… well… morbid. Shipmate 16 can only be killed by chasing him into a specific trap that will cut him to pieces.
Every time they manage to kill a Shipmate, they are transferred to an empty bar with the walls slowly being filled with the pictures of the ‘Subjects’ that appear after killing the Shipmate, including Daniel the Duck, Robert the Rabbit, Clay the Cuckoo, etc…
Then when all 16 Shipmates are killed, they return to the bar once more but it’s now burning and there’s a Dog ‘Shipmate’ in front of them.
The final Shipmate.
The key to the Golden Ending.

Hey I just want to tell you your OP fan arts are so great I love them very much, but you haven't updated in a while I'm not sure this acc is still active? do you have other social media acc??? I would love to follow you wherever you post. PLEASE.
Tumblr media
Thanks! First of all, it’s a huge honor coming from you! Your work is incredible and you have amazing tastes with your inspo blog and dang I gotta catch up with our flag means death so I can look at all your draws without spoiling myself lmao.
As you can tell, I love one piece and waste a lot of my time doodling dumb one piece brain farts. There’s a lot of spam coming from this account cuz I just caught up and basically do these in between meetings and when procrastinating from real work lmao.
This blog and p much all my social media accounts are come and go. I have a normal account @lolsup that I on very rare occasions upload some life drawings or whatever there. I also have a @lols4lyfe reblog blog that I sporadically reblog random things I find inspirational.
I also have IG which I kinda use more? Its also lolsup and is mostly for life/observation drawings and some work stuff.

Making the CoF au would be so much easier if the lore was easy to understand </3 I have some of the basics down though
Pyrrhia - Crispia
Pantala - Beast-Yeast
All of the ancients are animus “AllWings,” aka a hybrid of all of the tribes. However they will mainly present only 1-2 tribes with a few features from others. Ex. Golden Cheese presenting as a SandWing/RainWing, perhaps with flamesilk from SilkWings.
I’m figuring out the map(s) as best as I can, but Pantala will be harder bc of how little we ACTUALLY know about Beast-Yeast (and idk what to do about the hives, lol)
The list of all characters->dragons is almost done !! There are some where Idk what to do for them (Ex. Zombie and Yoga) and others where I think they’d be more animus enchanted objects/beings (Ex. Candy Diver and Space Doughnut) but IM GETTING THERE !! It’ll just take a very long while with me being the only person working on it and with me having a bunch of stuff goin on!

Day 8: Discovery
“Hey, he’s your ancestor too. Why don’t you hop in the animus?”
Desmond and William’s fight after the discovery of Haytham being a templar just sickens me in the best way possible. Desmond is so tired and wants to just live for himself for once, and William can’t see beyond the bigger picture. It definitely feels like intentional parallels between Ratonhnhaké:ton and Haytham’s story, though Desmond and William do ultimately find some sort of a resolution (I still don’t like William though).

Desmond, bartender in 2000s-2010s New York would absolutely binge shitty reality tv and adore eavesdropping on patrons when he can't get his drama fix. He's the RPG tavern owner who you ask if he has heard any rumors and his eyes light up because now he can info dump all the shit he hears. This follows him to the past, where now he has to actively seek out this entertainment.
He abuses his enhanced senses to sit on roofs and listen in with a hand to his mouth like, "oh my god. They were roommates." He is both the best informant and the worst because, while he is a master at getting information, the details he focuses on are useless to the Order.
"Yeah so this guy will be here at this time at this place, whatever. But! More importantly this guy has been having an affair with his wife's sister AND her brother and-"
"Please, Desmond, I am begging you just tell me the information for the mission."
--------
In Altair's time, Malik was originally Desmond's go to but after being chased out one to many times for "loitering and disturbing the peace of the bureau" (i.e. Malik's peace) Desmond switches to the Rafiq in Damascus since he "at least appreciates me." Eventually Malik would begrudgingly miss his presents and send a request for him to come back because Desmond is the only one he can rant at about Altair.
Altair does not know what the hell Desmond is talking about half the time, but now he does know the baker has three sons that his wife never knew of and one of the sons has shown up at the baker's home.
He normally will just let Desmond keep talking cause he likes his voice.
---------
In Ezio's time he is best friends with Claudia and her girls love him. He'll drop in and gossip with them about their patrons or even warn them about some of them. "Be careful I heard that he has some craziness going on between the legs." or the girls will ask questions about Ezio.
"I heard he is a beast in bed, is that true?"
"Well you didn't hear it from me, buuuut~"
He is 100% going off of hazy animus memories, but all the courtesans totally think he has either A.) slept with Ezio or B.) is actively sleeping with Ezio
With Claudia he talks about the goings on in Tiber Island and what Ezio is up to. Ezio doesn't know how the hell his sister knows everything he is doing or why he gets a message from her forbidding him from doing something he hasn't even gotten to do yet and Desmond just stands off to the side sweating.
---------
Connor is gonna go gray early with how often Desmond just disappears from the Homestead because he seems hellbent on not staying still as it gets "to boring there". Desmond will normally pop up in the strangest of places. Either Connor will find him, head tilted like a dog as he listens in on a group or Desmond will just hunt Connor down himself. "Heard you were in the area."
At time he loves it because Desmond always has a ready flow of information and he is very good at sowing discontent with it, making for good distractions. On the other hand he can do without the open commentary or rampant attention he gives any interaction Connor has with his father.
"It's so much more interesting when it's not me"
*Connor and Haytham both glare at him*

I think about Darkstalker and how love is so closely intertwined in it. His love for others (namely Clearsight, Foeslayer, Whiteout, and Fathom) is a central part to his character and the choices he makes.
I think back to his earlier enchantments. He enchanted Whiteout's favourite doll so that it would always appear under her pillow if she ever lost it. He enchanted her paint set so that they would never dry out. A plate for Foeslayer so that her food would always be warm if she came home late. He made dreamvisitors so that, even when they slept, Darkstalker, Fathom, and Clearsight could make memories and have fun.
He wants them to be happy. His love language is using his magic to gift them things he believes they want.
But, of course, what he believes isn't often what is reality.
He observed and watched Fathom experience constant anxiety and guilt over his magic. His magic he rightfully saw as a curse, unable to see it as little more than a tool for destruction and harm after witnessing the SeaWing massacre. He felt pity and sorrow for Fathom, believing that his fear was preventing him from realizing his true potential. Darkstalker tried numerous times to convince him, but when that turned out as a failure, he moved to do it by force. He enchanted the goblet to make him forget about his oath, stop caring about Indigo (who Darkstalker saw as a pest that was trying to turn Fathom against him), and willingly use his magic. He loved Fathom and thought this was best for him.
He saw first-hand how affected Clearsight was by her visions. She would neglect sleep and fall into spirals of existential dread and panic over the overwhelming nature of it all. He created the earring because he believed that it would've helped her. It was definitely also because he wanted her to keep quiet about all of these terrible futures since it was an annoying distraction, but he convinced himself it was all okay and was helping her. He loved Clearsight and thought this was best for her.
His ideal world is one where he gets to reign supreme over all of the other tribes, with him and his loved ones remaining at the top. He thought that was what was best for them all. He was convinced that's what they wanted, and even if they didn't realize it now, they would come to see that he truly wanted the best for them.
A lot of people see Darkstalker's intentions of that as purely sinister. He wanted Fathom to use his magic so that he would have another animus dragon on his side. He wanted Clearsight to shut up about the horrific futures she saw. I don't disagree with there being darker undertones, he's definitely manipulative and self-serving, but I like thinking he did care about them. Could it be because he liked being praised? Yeah, obviously, I don't doubt that, but he cared about them. He loved them.
But his love was not healthy. It was inconsiderate and selfish. It was done mainly out of his own interests and projected ideas of what they "wanted", whether he was aware of it or not. He was a tar pit who dragged others in, thinking that what he was doing was best for them. That his love and protection above all else would help them. He was unaware of how much hurt and damage he was doing to them.

@umbrasolaris, I'm sure you meant something nice when you said "Desmond Multiverse" in this post but this is what my mind conjured up
Tumblr media
The fact that all of them are official Desmonds (both ingame and concept arts) just makes the fact that they all look like different dudes funnier.
I wanna say I'm sorry but I'm not. Happy Desmond Death Day, everybody!
Also, happy AC day!

ANOTHER human au art compilation! Here’s the first! More info about the AU and their cultures under cut ~
Groundwork:
-Abilities which stem from things inherent to dragon biology (fire, venom, frostbreath, gills, etc.) aren’t present. More traditionally supernatural gifts (mindreading, oracle, animus magic, etc.) are still present. In retrospect this makes the Nightwings completely op but shhh
-Each tribe is inspired off a mishmash frankenstein of different real-world cultures
-Dragons are an endangered species, just a hum in the background and nearly hunted to extinction. They’re hardly considered a threat, especially when most humans haven’t even seen one in their lives. Once the centre of each people’s culture and civilisation, they’re now nothing more than Bigfoot sightings or exotic pets.
Culture:
-Sandwings are the least homogeneous tribe and take inspiration from various cultures in the Indian subcontinent and Arab nations (most largely India and Palestine). Many subcultures exist within the larger Sandwing kingdom. Common identifies (not present in them all, but there will usually be at least one) include gold accented accessories, darker skin, and clothing with light, desaturated, yellow/orange tones. They’re renowned for their abundance of poison, excellent street food, musical talent, and stereotypically maliciously intelligent. Regardless of class there’s a nation wide pattern (you can find the reference for it by Qibli’s headscarf) symbolising trade routes, oasis waters and dunes. It’s a symbol of national pride (included on thorn’s dress, and ostrich’s headband/headscarf).
-Nightwings are, on the contrary, the most homogeneous tribe due to their small population. They’re based on Japan (spanning multiple eras). I like to think the Nightwings lost a lot of their culture after migrating to the volcano, for they were once the most religious tribe, worshiping the moon alongside the Icewings, which I’ll get to later on their cultural similarities. I promise it’ll make sense. By now, all their deeply religious traditions have been relegated to superstitions. It was said they were blessed by the moons, but the connection has been largely severed. Only old dresses follow the tradition of embroidering in the moons they were born under. Moonwatcher’s dress is something akin to a hand-me-down, as are her silver earrings, it’s by coincidence it lined up with her actual birthday. Moon’s family was an exception because she came from a long line of seers (or alleged seers) who have done their best to preserve a crumbling culture. Common identifiers include near pitch black clothing and skin as pale as the moon.
-Icewings have some of the largest populations, however, are surprisingly homogenous. Most sub-cultural differences are as a result of class. They’re based on Mongolia and Manchuria. Like Nightwings they are also deeply religious, maintaining their beliefs through rigorous scholarship. Hair has intrinsic religious value as a gift from your family- therefore it cannot be cut. The same goes for ear piercings and any other physical alterations to your body. IceWing jewellery as a result is very distinct because of its lack of need for an ear piercing, hooking around the back of the ear instead. Common identifies include long/braided hair, and light, cool-colored clothing suited for the cold.
-Skywings are loosely Scottish inspired, and I do not have a lot to say about the rest of the tribes. Most of their clothing have feathered accents. The peregrine is a sign of luck and wealth, with their feathers being adorned on the upper classes. Geese and chickens, being common farm animals, are found adorned on working classes. The second richest tribe, employing silver, gold, lazuli, and about any gem they can find in their clothing. Common identifies include curly orange/red hair, taller statures, feathered accents, a tartan like pattern, and clothing ranging from yellow to magenta.
-Seawings are loosely based on various Polynesian cultures, most prominently that of the Māori. The sea has an intrinsic religious value to them, with all children learning to swim, sail, and/or fish. They live off the sea’s resources, rarely consulting the surrounding land for supplies. On rare occasions albatross birds and seagulls are plucked for headdresses. These are reserved for high ranked royalty. Their clothing is loose and well adapted for the warm beach setting. Common identifiers of Seawings include ta moko like tattoos, olive skin, and clothing ranging from lime to purple.
-Rainwings are loosely based on Thai, Indonesian, and Cambodian cultures. They’re colourful and have the second largest poison reserves (bested by sandwings). Having once been a trade centred tribe, now they’re isolationist, albeit not intentionally. They have many history records, almost as detailed as that of Icewings, but the art has been lost to a changing cultural atmosphere. Once too religious, now their intrinsically religious practices are more cultural. Their clothing is similar to sandwings in the fact they cover as much of the body as convenient but remain loose and breezy. Common identifiers include bronze tan skin, vibrant pigmented clothing, and flower motifs. Nightwing villages don’t follow that guideline, they build on the ground as a tribe with a focus on hunting. I’m assuming everything in this universe is made proportional to dragons, hence why the trees are so large. This assumption is based off that specific panel of Bandit in the book six graphic novel eating a blueberry as big as his head.
-Mudwings are sooo underdeveloped in my au (following in the steps of Tui herself) but they’re based on southern Chinese and Vietnamese cultures! They live in cities akin to Chinese floating villages, Vietnamese floating markets, and Tulou (architectural style of the Chinese Hakka) made of mud bricks. They're a very agricultural based people. Many of their villages are isolated communities- their emphasis on family extending to their towns. Common identifiers include umber skin, straw conical hats, and practical clothing in shades of brown.

Some more dragons
To give more context to people! Yes this story sounds very silly but I was trying to make things work with the tons of headcanons I have lol
Geno (sky/ice), Fresh(rain/ice), and Error(night/ice) are all half-brothers (they share the same mother who is now dead) They live in the rainforest together between the Nightwing and Rainwing territories
Geno is sickly and often needs a scarf or blankets to make him feel warmer. He sustained injuries to an attack to the rainforest and Error found out he was an animus by wishing his brother to stay alive
Fresh is a very clever hybrid who can change the colors of his scales but not as well as full Rainwings. He tends to stay either bright colors mixed with his original white
Error learned he was an animus after an attack on the rainforest, he's best friends with Ink despite always getting mad at the happy-go-lucky rainwing (Error is cousins with Cross but that'll like never get brought up or found out by any of them)
Ink is just a regular Rainwing but is friends with the hybrids out of the village so people thing he's a little funky. He's an artist through and through and Error gives him a giant brush that makes his drawings come to life using his animus powers
Dream and Nightmare are both twin Nightwing/Sandwing princes (Nightmare got bullied too hard for being a "bastard prince" even though Dream is also one) Both are empaths and can feel other's emotions!
A massacre happens in the Sandwing Kingdom when the royal family (trying to stay pure) tries to kill Nightmare when Dream isn't around. Nightmare escapes, angry that his brother got better treatment than him, while killing many other dragons in the process
Blue is a royal Seawing guard in training even though his parents wanted him to be a cook and Red is a Skywing who is captive by the queen since he was experimented on by his father (scientist)
Reaper is an outcasted Nightwing due to accidentally killing people with just a touch (animus curse by xgaster) He uses it to his advantage with his Nightwing powers by being able to prophecy someone’s future or find parts of their past. He is known as this Reaper judge that gets sent for when giant disputes happen and the Queens of the tribes need to figure out who to punish. When he meets Geno, who is also animus touched to not die, Reaper is fascinated that he is able to touch Geno
The broad animus stuff is due to Xgaster (Nightwing who is part of a split tribe situation with eviler Nightwings lol) trying experiments on Nightwing eggs to make their dragonets stronger. I imagine its a group still like wanting to be better than every other tribe and resides in the old Nightwing palace
Cross is a Nightwing who is gonna stop his dad in the big storyline
MURDER TRIO! All of them are dragons that were outcasted and seen as incompetent or needed a home. They pledged their allegiance to the Sandwing prince Nightmare and promised to help him take the throne.
Dust is an animus prince in the Icewing tribe that went crazy after killing his siblings, he tends to be calm but becomes crazed easily and can kill easily with his powers (although he tends not to use them anyways and is just a very good fighter). He created a cloak to calm himself down and he tends to keep it over himself. He actually ran away because the judge (Reaper) was going to be sent to their tribe
Killer is a Rainwing that was captured and trained to fight in the now shut down Skywing arena. He was used as target practice for his changing scales and they even burned a target onto his chest so they'd always be able to see him even when his scales changed
Horror is a bigwings who watched all his sibs die during a famine in the Mud kingdom (due to drought). Older Mudwings tried to kill him for being a waste of space but he escaped and joined Nightmare.

(stares deeply into your art student eyes) Listen to me. I have something brutally important to tell you.
If your school does not regularly teach you how to recognize, and treat, physical pain and physical stress that is inherent in most -- if not all -- forms of making art, then it is fundamentally failing you.
Higher education is, fundamentally, a business.
Strip it to the core, dig into the foundations themselves dug into the soil, and you have hired extremely expensive consultants. You have hired these consultants to teach you to build a career, or build a portion of your life, or both.
Everything about that statement is carefully worded to be neutral.
If they are not regularly teach you to recognize the beginnings of physical pain, and, how to alleviate it when it sets in, and, how to regularly assess your work flow to reduce physical strain, then they are failing you.
I do not care how good they are as teachers. Or artists. Or business people. Or providers of networking connections.
If physical self care, strain reduction, proper ventilation, physical protection equipment, and similar lessons are never covered, they are utter and complete failures and, on at a core level, thieves.
They are robbing you of some of the most important lessons an art school should be teaching you.
I hope you will take this scathing critique of common art school education and use your inborn curiosity, some of the animus that inspired me to write this and you to become an artist, and begin pairing "I work in X media" with "I should prepare Y."
And if you are teaching yourself, then apply all above as part of your education. Do not rob yourself of these critical lessons.
Your materials are frequently dangerous.
Your posture requires frequent positions at odds with what your muscles are designed to do.
Your hours are frequently extensive.
Your options are binary: accommodate your physicality or suffer at an increasing rate until you are physically unable to continue working.
My education was sub-par. It took me years to fix the damage of this oversight. I consider myself lucky to have built up a proper training regime in time before permanent damage set in, I cannot count how many colleagues I have known over the years who were not so lucky.
From my physical core (which I exercise regularly to keep strong and minimize pain and physical stress), I wish you the best of luck.
:-)

Ok so like, I always thought transmasc Turtle was a cute HC but just completely canon incompatible like there is no way Coral would allow any of her female offspring to trans their gender BUT
I just realised
What if Turtle just...started presenting male one morning? Coral doesn't give a fuck about her sons, she doesn't even know half their names, so Turtle just keeps out of her way and blends in with the rest of the boys to the best of his ability, maybe uses his animus magic to change some identifying markings. Coral thinks her daughter has gone missing and after a prolonged period of mourning, possibly interrupted by the hatching of Anemone, is none the wiser. Maybe one day she wonders if she's miscounted, after all she was sure she had 31 sons not 32, but she drops the question quickly enough because who cares about the males anyway, she's too busy keeping an extra close eye on Anemone and getting a special harness made so she can't go missing like her sister :)
