I wanted to write something so badly for the most gorgeous moodboard ever, but my brain hates me the last few weeks. faythie, thank you so much. I adore that gorgeous brain of yours 😭💜:
just imagine how fucking soft and sweet Lumby is during the holiday season. a tough time for you, family and friends not around, not much stability in a life you've always wished for and certainly not enough to ever make it something worth cherishing. but Lumby doesn't mind– it's the first time in a long time that he has someone he burns to share his heart with.
you don't want to do anything for the holidays? fine by him. just let him hold you close and shower you with his love and that's all he'll need for the rest of his life. his time is yours, his heart is yours. Bucky does hope you'll let him indulge in some of his favorite holiday season festivities– gifting you soft knits and yummy warm cocoa filled kisses, watching the fire crackle and gleam as proudly as the soft flush emanating along his cheeks. Bucky's heart beats for you, truly. you feel it beneath your back as he snuggles you against his chest, the strong thump steady and true as he tells you of the dreams he has for your future. it's hard to focus on anything when his lips brush against your skin, along your neck as the rumble of his gruff voice lulls you further and further into his secure embrace. the sight of you so comfortable seeking home inside of him fills him with a feeling he'll never be able to express. his heart nearly bursts through his skin when you turn your face to watch the love he has for you dance within his eyes. but fuck Bucky nearly melts the second you smile up at him, pressing the most gentle of adoring kisses into the crook of his neck. so yeah, he needs you to let him love you all the rest of his years, it's only fair being you're the one who stole his heart right from under his chest.

Lumby absolutely had you floating in a bubble of love all day long. and it felt even more overwhelming than it normally does on the day-to-day because it makes you you realize just how wonderful it is to be loved by him. Bucky doesn't need a special day to make sure you know you're loved. he does it greedily and happily everyday that you get to spend with him. Vday is special and Bucky is a romancer down to his very core so yes he showers you in love, but it isn't the only day a year he will show you how you should be treated and made a priority. it's just an extra special day because he absolutely refuses to acknowledge any outside presence other than his sweet girl's and he finds ways to constantly outdo himself.
valentine's day isn't just another day, but it is another day of being treated like the most precious element in the universe. because to Bucky, you are. he'll stop at nothing to make sure you know just how wrapped around his finger you have him and how happy he is to know your love and sweet laughter.

he shifts under the comforter, snaking up your body and placing his thick thighs on either side of you, running his calloused palms across any inch of skin he can find. his head pops out of the blanket in a frantic daze, one hand clinging to your hip, "i need to get this on you immediately. the future of your well-being depends on it," the other arm sneaks out, holding his well-loved Washington, D.C. sweatshirt.
you laugh brightly, hitting playfully at his side until he shrieks at the chill of your fingers. "bun! i'm serious! lemme put this on you right now!" his stern voice breaks at the end, a smile slipping through the cracks of his facade as he takes in the sight before him.
the radiant smile gracing your tired features, your tussled and out of place eyebrow hairs, the way the pillow bunches under the weight of your head, the color of your eyes as you stare up at him– fuck, it doesn't get any better than this.
he grabs your hands, clutching them firmly in his own. a thumb brushes over your knuckles, raising your fingers to his lips to warm their cold bite, "i gotcha bun... but you're gonna have to let me put this on you if you know what's good for ya"

he likes to think that he is, but he is not all that familiar with the current trends or social sites😂. he has a phone! he enjoys texting, calls, facetime especially, but only with his Bunny. he has the kindle app downloaded for when he forgets his book at home, and his most favorite app is the camera/photo album. it's filled with all his most cherished memories and almost too many pictures of his sweet girl– though he gets upset when you tease him about that and it ends with you making it up to a very persuasive pouty lumberjack. Lumby doesn't have much need for socials except to help promote the business, which Sam and Torres overlook the accounts for, anyhow.
anything he needs to know he can look up in the palm of his hand, and that's very special and convenient for him. and anything meme-wise you feel he's missing out on, he waits for you to show or explain them to him. Bucky does not understand half of the things you show him, but the ones he does get, make him laugh so hard that only your touch and kisses can soothe. or so he tells you😌
