I'm really not vibing with whatever staff is doing now. Not only does there seem to be a total internal communication breakdown, there also seems to be an absolute disregard for how the players are affected by this.
Like, ignoring the fact that the consistency argument doesn't even hold water, their takeaway from the Fern/Paisley thread seems to have been "oh we gotta change Breakup and Hypnotic too!!"
And then completely reversing Sandsurge Blend on top of that? A gene that's been out for over half a year and was only listed as having the gradient softened, not reversed? Just a total failure to communicate and an absolute bullheadedness in pushing the changes through despite the very reasonable player concerns?
To top it all off, none of these are bug changes, they are style changes. Someone saw these genes before they went live, greenlighted them, and put them in the game. And now, months upon months later, someone else (presumably) says "fuck that, I want the gene to look like this instead" and that complete change is just... pushed through??
Like. Did they learn nothing from the Butterfly debacle, from Obelisk Flair, hell, from the Eyepocalypse?
What the fuck is going on behind the scenes?

She’s a scab. She only cares about herself and what she can personally gain. She let her “friends” take the fall more than once now so she could get a world cup and continue to push that she’s the best player in the world when in reality she played like absolute dog shit and really that second ballon dor shouldn’t have gone to her in the 1st place. She’s just trying to stay relevant sorry that I’m giving you guys the truth 🤷‍♀️
Welcome to @handmeascalpel's ted talk, I'm your host @batlleonafc buckle up and enjoy the ride
Hello, anon. I've read everything you've mentioned. Do you have any evidence to support your claims? Considering that I'm reading this now, you don't. So, let me present the evidence I have. If you understand after this, great. If not, I can't stop people from forming their own opinions.
Exhibit A:
You said, "she only cares about herself and what she can personally gain."
On September 1, 2022, Alexia tweeted in support of Irene Paredes when the RFEF essentially blamed her for the players' opposition to the federation. Alexia was injured at the time and wasn't even in camp or eligible for a call-up. She was the first to tweet, sparking the revolution against the RFEF.
Ironically, on September 23 of the same year, exactly one year ago, Alexia was the first to post the Las15 statement, stating that the players wanted a "firm commitment for a professional project" and expressing their unhappiness that private conversations with the federation were leaked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exhibit B:
You said, "she let her friends take the fall more than once so she could get a World Cup."
As I mentioned earlier, Alexia was injured and therefore ineligible for a call-up. So her statement and email were never considered valid.
Every statement has always been posted by her first because she has a large following. She has consistently spoken out loudly and clearly about the problems. She never let friends take any fall. More proof is attached below.
She went to the World Cup because she was fit and couldn't escape sanctions, in case you forgot about them. I'd like you to tell me how many players who came back from an ACL injury immediately played well, or maybe just give me some names.
#seacabo was started by Alexia, and she took the lead for everything. It's not hard to find this evidence. Regardless of what people like you want to say about her, both on and off the pitch, you can see what kind of person she is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exhibit C:
You say, "that second Ballon d'Or shouldn't have gone to her in the first place."
Who do you think should have won it then? I'd be happy to hear your answer.
But since you brought up the Ballon d'Or, let me share a few things:
Official stats from the 2021/22 season:
La Liga Femenina:
- 26 games played.
- 18 goals scored.
- 16 assists.
Copa de la Reina:
- 4 games played.
- 4 goals scored.
- 1 assist.
Supercopa de España:
- 2 games played.
- 1 goal scored.
- 1 assist.
UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL):
- 10 games played.
- 11 goals scored.
- 3 assists.
Regarding the Ballon d'Or voting, she only missed out on 29 days, equivalent to one tournament (the Euros). Nobody came close to her stats, and she's a midfielder. These stats are only for her club. Her national team stats are just as impressive, as she has been crucial in every single match, not just easy ones. She essentially surpassed her own record from the previous season when she won the Ballon d'Or. In short, she deserved it.
There's more to a player than just stats, especially for defenders. But the stats Alexia has as a midfielder are outstanding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exhibit D:
Finally, you said, "she's just trying to stay relevant." Sorry to say, but she doesn't have to say anything to stay relevant.
She uses her influential platform to talk about what's true and important, unlike many players. Ramona Bachmann is a good example, and even Athenea, for that matter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope you've learned something today, anon. If not, good luck with your opinion of Alexia. You might just look foolish for hating on her.
Thank you for listening to @handmeascalpel's ted talk I hope you learned something today!

Hi, if you're still doing the ask game, may I inquire about your opinion on the following ships ? : Tomarrinny, Bartymort, Quirrellmort, Petermort and Tom Sr/Cecilia/Merope. Also, thoughts on MoD!Voldemort or on how a meeting between Snape and Petunia would have gone ? Thanks !
thank you very much, @take-the-unknow-road-now for this wonderful selection of unhinged things for me to talk about. i am always ready for asks which inspire chaos:
tomarrinny
when she's eleven, harry's twelve, and tom is an immortal shard of soul? no.
when she's thirty, harry's thirty-one, and tom is back from the dead for some reason? absolutely. after all, why shouldn't ginny be allowed two orphans, as a treat? and why shouldn't tom be allowed two people who are clearly less good-looking than him to pay him attention? plus, two quidditch players will definitely be willing to do all the work, allowing him to achieve his true form: undying pillow princess.
but - in reality - we all know which way the power dynamic actually lies: tom and ginny are both harry's subs. let's hope that their ability to jointly write a poem has improved since the 'his eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad' days.
bartymort
canon.
there has never been a man with a more flagrant daddy kink than barty crouch jr., and we all know that he threw himself onto lord voldemort's lap the second he arrived in his first death eater meeting. the dark lord advised him that he'd be physically chastised if this behaviour continued. unfortunately for him, that was exactly what barty wanted to happen.
the reason it burned out hard is because lord voldemort also has towering daddy issues. he is even forced to reveal what his real name and background is in an effort to make barty understand that sometimes he'd like to do something other than put on a double-breasted suit and pretend he's come home on time to attend a birthday party. (for example: 'hello son, i've come to pick you up from the orphanage' role-play.)
barty literally couldn't give less of a fuck. lord voldemort is not sorry when he gets turned into a soulless husk.
quirrellmort
lord voldemort - overcome with joy at being back in a human body after a decade - doesn't think through how awkward the aftermath of this will be, and spends the first night he's attached to quirrell's head directing him in a... let's just say... exploration of his anatomy.
quirrell is so pathetically suggestible that - from that point onwards - he can't get off unless the dark lord is talking dirty to him. but can you imagine how cringe trying to speak sexily to quirrell must be? (hey baby, what are you wearing? a turban which smells of garlic?)
voldemort simply pretends not to have heard when quirrell brings this up. unfortunately, all this does is make quirrell want to talk about his feelings.
lord voldemort is not sorry when harry kills him.
petermort
flopping. lord voldemort hates wormtail, because he betrayed a man to whom he would give his affections: james potter.
[seriously, he is a simp for james. there is no other explanation for why he insists that james fought him bravely when he turned up on halloween when we canonically know that what james actually did was run into the hall without his wand and then fall over.]
but don't worry. wormtail is getting some god-tier hate sex out of snape.
tom riddle sr./cecilia/merope gaunt
i'm going to answer this lightly, on the assumption that this triad is consensual.
tom sr. is getting thrown out of the bedroom within seconds. they're lesbians.
[he'll be fine. he goes for a little walk to sulk and ends up making out with frank bryce against a rose trellis. the four of them become bffs.]
and then our not-ship questions:
lord voldemort as the master of death
sounds like a lot of hard work, plus both of his parents keep appearing whenever he touches the resurrection stone to shout at him.
snape versus petunia
snape went round to speak to her about what a dick he thinks harry is (dumbledore told him to speak to her about the blood protection, he didn't want to.)
they fucked.

I am going to once more wax on my Be More Chill and related opinions on this blog because hey that's what it's for, let's deep dive into Two Player Game with a side of LGBT history and queer readings of coming of age media
so I was thinking a lot about characterization/acting thoughts for Two Player Game specifically approaching it defining character motives/emotions for the number (narrowing down what a character wants is one of the most simple tenets of acting, of course)
and I think a key single summary for each character: this (hanging out and playing video games together) is Michael's favorite thing in the whole world, but it only used to be Jeremy's favorite thing in the world
not that he still doesn't love it/love Michael, it's just (in a not-pro-SQUIP-way of saying it) a tie to a previous "version" of himself that he feels like he's outgrown, or at least wants to add to by "moving to the next level"
and that doesn't even mean leaving Michael behind necessarily, we see pretty clearly that his ideal future is one where Michael grows and is "cool" with him. He wants Michael to "grow up" too, and that loosely translates to "being popular" and of course, the litmus test for that, as established by this and many other high school stories, is having a girlfriend/sex/etc
...and Michael knows this. Whether you interpret him as having feelings for Jeremy or not (personally I think it's more complicated than simply pining, more that he's going to Realize Things (maybe) in a couple years and he might someday look back at the friend breakup/codependency and realize "huh that probably wasn't a heterosexual reaction), I think it's a key thing about him that there's a lot of love mingled with a sort of strange desire to emulate him (thinking of the line from the play "I don't resent you, I'm jealous you try!"), but he literally just....doesn't get it. He likes how things are now, so when Jeremy voices that he wants things to change, his solution is reminding him how much fun they've always had together and close they are. There's nothing wrong with that inherently! He's as much going through complex life changes as Jeremy is, and those can be messy and confusing without being purposely hurtful - but that sort of attachment at the same time I think is the kernel of Jeremy's frustration with him. He loves Michael a lot as well, but he sees Michael's sort of pride in staying how he is as ignoring his bids for attention to his issues. That translates, sometimes, into feeling like Michael can be a different kind of stuck up or thinking he's superior because he doesn't care about the things Jeremy wants, or at least doesn't want the same ones and seems OK with that.
And even if he doesn't quite articulate it, Michael knows that Jeremy sort of feels like this, like he longs for more, and that sort of hurts, but it is what it is. So he tries to ignore it, supporting Jeremy as much as he can, but wanting to hang onto him too ("I like to think when you're popular, you'll owe me one")
This is also, I think, the root of why Jeremy was able to understand the SQUIP's logic that to move on, he had to leave Michael behind. He didn't like it, exactly, but the SQUIP was inside his head - it knew about these frustrations and knew that it could push those buttons to distance him from the main threat to the SQUIP's desire to self propagate (because given access to Jeremy's memories would have told the SQUIP that "oh wait my new host literally has a friend with easy access to the one chemical that kills me, better nip that in the bud"). Like the SQUIP gets humanized a lot, but just looking at the text, it's ultimately just an evil AI whose goal right from the start is to spread to as many hosts as possible. Not even exactly evil, per se, that's just how it works. It's like a virus.
But back to the summarized dynamic/character motivations to think about regarding Two Player Game, I think this is sort of an interesting dynamic we often see with close-paired male friend protagonists in coming of age stories: you have one character (often the main one) who is "maturing" faster, somewhat, who's interested in change and usually that means romance with girls, while the second one is somewhat "less" mature and that usually represents things staying the same, just the two of them
(Something Wicked This Way Comes was the other really obvious example that I was thinking of here, though in that situation the protagonist is Will, who is a little less eager to grow up)
I also think there's a tendency in fan interpretations to characterize that secondary friend character as romantically-attracted to his best friend and there's not necessarily anything wrong with that either, but at the same time I think it's more of an interesting common thread in how trios of young characters get portrayed. This is not to say the "best friend" can't be queer - they tend to get queer coded even unintentionally, or at least given less traditionally-masculine traits and/or quirkier interests and personality features while simultaneously being pretty easily likeable (all easy to interpret as queer especially by queer fans)
Sidenote that I'm not sure the scope of this post really can address, but the Victorian/post-Victorian characterization (because as much as it sucks, we still live in the shadow of Victorian ideas about the world in many terrible ways at least in the Anglophonic world) as same-sex attraction especially between adolescent boys as something somehow "juvenile" might be relevant here, like pre-Oscar Wilde there was a general zeitgeist opinion that, largely due to the staunchly sex-segregated nature of schooling in childhood right up through college, that same-sex feelings and sexual behaviors were natural and common - everyone does it in school, because you're in a single-sex environment - but it's only acceptable up to a certain age - once you reached adulthood and had social access to the opposite sex, then it was expected that things would just straighten out. One of the key things that Wilde was considered so unnatural and offensive for was claiming that genuine love was possible between men, not just youthful messing around and experimenting while there were no girls around. Wilde had many of his own flaws of course, but his trials were so heavily publicized that many of the stereotypes about queer men started pretty clearly right there
(and this is nothing to do with Be More Chill, just an accessory thought, but I think that has something to do - this is not excusing it, just explaining it - with the idolization of youth, especially like late-teens/early 20s youth, being super prevalent in Victorian queer men's erotic writing and fascination; it was the last period of life where those kinds of relationships were commonly accessible and accepted, but fleeting, so it creates a sense that the experience of same-sex attraction is some sort of arrested development, a failure to "grow up" in the way social pressure expects)
Obviously this is no longer the case, since we've had a good 100 years of social trends and shifts regarding gender and sex and the ways that those things intersect regarding "growing up," but while discussing or noticing a trend of a very close male friendship representing immaturity vs pursuing a female love interest as a sign of maturity (at least in male-protagonist coming of age stories), it seems like those threads might have something to do with each other in a broader cultural context
anyway this is basically me thinking through "ok in a production of BMC, what kind of direction might help get some nuance into a rather cheesy number that we can really set up the characterization and relationship in all its facets"

Sadako is definitely a specific problem herself but all across the board, I badly want to see the add-ons and items in DBD get a major overhaul. Killer add-ons in particularly are so fucked, they're all over the place, and at this point in the game's lifespan I really don't understand how the hell BHVR even thinks of this as a balanced or healthy gameplay experience.
The very idea of add-ons having rarity is just blatantly unhealthy. The fact is that most players will have attained, and spent, a ridiculous amount of bloodpoints on any given character they actually want to play, which means that these characters have huuuuge stocks of all their add-ons ready to go. If a player really wanted to, they could always run iri or other high-tier add-ons every single game, and there's no consequences -- having to restock on those add-ons is effortless when you're already leveling up a character like crazy. No one is ever "out" of an add-on, and not like that matters, because you're always going against different opponents, who very well have their own stocks of add-ons they can always consistently use.
I think this has particularly become bigger of a problem this past year, when we've had what feels like a record amount of bloodpoint generosity from BHVR; tons of bloodhunts, free BP codes, and events that allow you farm up lots of BP, all result in an add-on ecosystem that's bloated. Killers can always run their best, most-frustrating add-ons every single game, and likewise, Survivors can bring top-notch medkits and toolboxes all the time.
And these items have such an immense effect on the result of the game -- of course they would, they're intended to be overpowered! The only downside to any of these add-ons is that you're expected to only have a limited amount, but one complete game of DBD can get you through like two-to-three bloodwebs' worth of items. No one is ever running out of their best add-ons, no one is ever at a point where they have go without their best add-ons.
And because everyone is running their best items... it encourages everyone else to do the same! Because after so many games of going against Killers running double-iri add-ons or w/e, it only makes sense that the Survivors would want some advantage too, and so Survivors end up bringing the best possible items every game, abusing them as much as possible to try and level the playing field -- whether or not the Killer is even trying that hard! It's a constant cause-effect that keeps spiraling worse and worse. Speaking for myself, I dread having to play games without really good add-ons, because I just know my next games will feel incredibly unfair going against a Killer that very likely did not hesitate to bring their own best items. When you've got Pinheads putting you in deep wounds or Sadakos forcing you to run across the map to deposit tapes, yeah you're gonna eventually want to just bring your own powerful shit to try and shit on them.
So badly do items and add-ons need a complete overhaul. If they want to keep the rarity tiers, fine, but maybe those really rare and powerful add-ons should be actually rare, because if I'm facing iri add-ons 75% of my games, something is clearly not rare about them. Maybe the lower tier add-ons can stay relatively unchanged, but anything green or higher needs to have a specific downside attached to it. These add-ons that just straight-up make a Killer's power more busted are just ass to deal with, and it's annoyingly inconsistent how some add-ons are considered so strong that they have to have drawbacks.... but then others just don't. Maybe it would even be healthy for the game if iri add-ons counted as two add-ons, thus limiting their effectiveness with other add-ons; less mix-ups you can do, but it would absolutely reel in the power of those add-ons. And while they're at it, they can straight-up dumpster all the shit add-ons that don't do fucking anything -- why the fuck does Pyramidhead have an add-on that increases killer instinct by like... 0.2 seconds???????? What the fuck does that do for him?????????? jfc!
If nothing else, would it be too much for the other side to get some sort of award or benefit when they do play against high-tier add-ons? Would it be too much to ask for, idk, bonus bloodpoints? It's so frustrating that the other side gets nothing out of a scenario where their opponents came into the game with a stacked build compared to some poor dumbass that didn't.

Ok, so I've played VTMNR a few times now, and I've noticed something which I think is interesting. Near the end of the book, if you've romanced Lettow and choose to fight the SI with him, you'll have the opportunity to kiss him in the hallway. If you decide to kiss him again, or just return to the room with him, there will be one retainer left. Depending on your relationship with Lettow, he'll act differently here. If your Lettow/Camarilla relationship is moderate (3 dots), he'll become cool and composed in front of the retainer. Additionally, he'll touch your wrist in a lingering way, which you realize he's doing in order to check your watch. If your Camarilla relationship is high (5 dots), the part about about him being "cool and collected, even in the presence of a single retainer he is the Eagle Prince" is not mentioned, and Lettow will touch your face instead. In my opinion, the nature of the relationship is more unclear in the 3dot interaction. Personally, I find that it feels more manipulative (though I'm probably not clever enough to explain why). With 5 dots, I follow him to Egypt everytime, but with 3 dots I still follow him. I'm just much more wary about how "happy" their relationship will be. Will he sacrifice my character to the Sabbat if needed? Who knows! Although, really, who's to say you're not being played by him the entire story, even with a full relationship meter.
Another variation I've noticed is during the confrontation with Donati when Lettow flutters up the steps, he will A) see you and force himself to stand, B) stand (because he's an elder), or C) rise to his hands and knees, but is too weak to get up more. I'm not sure what the trigger is for whichever action he takes (or if there are more variants of this), but my more moderate relationship characters got either scenario A or B, while my high relationship character got scenario C. When I played through it, I personally liked scenario C the best because to me, it feels like he trusts the main character enough that he's willing to afford a moment of weakness around them. Afterall, he's still able to attack Donati no matter if you get A, B, or C, so he's clearly not that close to the brink of death.
While I love Lettow and his romance, I'm pretty confused by it all. First of all, I don't really understand his character or ambitions too well. Despite how friendly and trusting he seems in the the first chapter (showing you Jasper's death? Why?), he's suspicious of the courier from the start (if you spy on Carlos in the parking garage, he'll reveal that Lettow thinks you might be an SI agent). And I don't think that suspicion ever goes away, it just evolves. He dismisses the idea that you're SI, but then he thinks you're allied with *potential diablerist* Julian (even if you aren't) then quickly seems to realize it's you (maybe by sensing her in your blood?). He continues to suspect you, until he seems to REALIZE realize that you diablerized Aila. Before the final confrontation between you, Julian, and Lettow, there's a moment where Lettow is reading his book and asks you in a tired, soft voice "I need to know why you--". He never gets to finish that thought, but I'm pretty sure he's asking why you killed her. However, after the warehouse meeting, Lettow decides to spare both you and Julian?? Because he's tired and lonely?? I dont get it, what's his agenda? Why spare them? From what I know, the traditions say that killing/diablerizing a fellow vampire is punishable by death, so isn't Lettow actively going against the Camarilla? I can kinda understand if he doesn't want to kill the player character, since he thinks Aila is in our veins, and he's potentially formed some sort of attachment to us (though I think at this point, Julian's formula has completely eradicated any traces of Aila from our blood, so surely Lettow can detect that?). However, I can't really understand why he spares Julian. Maybe he does it because the author wants to highlight that Lettow is a rare breed of kindred, one that's truly benevolent with a high humanity, but that's the only reason I can think of. Really, I'm just not sure what type of person Lettow is, or what his game is. Julian is clearly depicted as being pretty manipulative and as having these huge ambitions that he needs the courier to help him achieve, but I don't think that's true for Lettow. Asides from running packages, he doesn't really benefit from them (asides from the whole "maybe Aila's reincarnated" thing). So maybe he's manipulating the player at this super high level, but you know, maybe he's just actually a great, merciful person (except he did actually kill a ventrue in his court for having conspired to diablerize Invidia Caul. So what's up with that?)
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this monster of an ask, and please let me know what you think!
THANK YOU ANON FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL ASK.
TL;DR at the bottom!
Honestly, personally? I just write this off as him not trusting you nearly as well. "Lingering" suggests he *wants* to touch you, but the biggest giveaway is that he doesn't seem to have the need to check your watch at all in the five dot one (if I’m understanding you correctly). That tells me that with five dots, he just openly wants to touch you and isn't afraid to show it (aww), but with three dots he's a little more reluctant and is just *pretending* to check your watch.
He's got walls up in three dots he doesn't in five.
That's my exact same impression too -- there's trust with five dots that doesn't exist with three.
Despite how friendly and trusting he seems in the the first chapter (showing you Jasper's death? Why?), he's suspicious of the courier from the start (if you spy on Carlos in the parking garage, he'll reveal that Lettow thinks you might be an SI agent).
Okay I actually do have thoughts on this. This gets a little bit beside the point of your ask, so bear with me.
Regarding Jasper -- all I can say is, "Why NOT show you Jasper's death"? He doesn't have any reason NOT to show you. It doesn't make him vulnerable for you to know that Jasper is dead, or how he died. It doesn’t give the Courier any kind of edge against him. So Lettow has nothing to lose and everything to gain (your trust) by making you think you’re important enough that you get to watch the video.
Regarding Lettow thinking you're an SI agent -- I know this isn't the point of your ask but I do have thoughts on that, so please humour me for a moment before I go back to your point --
There's something very subtle in VTMNR that is never shown outright. It's very, very subtle but if you think about it, there's a really big reason why Lettow could think you're an SI agent despite being a vampire.
Think about it. Lettow himself points out that he's the only Prince that is as paranoid as he is about the SI, and yet Tucson is swarming with their agents. All the other Princes are emailing and texting and they're not dealing with the SI to nearly the degree Lettow has.
So what's the difference between Lettow and those Princes?
Lettow has an Autarkis in his Domain who's constantly blowing the Masquerade, that's why!
Who keeps calling you and speaking openly about being Kindred?
Julian.
Who keeps pinging the SI in his phone calls, forcing you to switch phones over and over?
Julian.
Who keeps loudly saying things like "WE CAN'T LET ANYONE KNOW WE'RE VAMPIRES" potentially in earshot of the SI, who you KNOW are watching you?
Julian.
Julian flaunts the Masquerade CONSTANTLY. And in doing so, he makes Lettow a target, because Lettow’s the guy in charge of the area!
So what has this got to do with Lettow thinking you're an agent of the SI? I have to admit, I can't quite connect the dots here, but I think it goes back to Julian once again. Julian's operating under his nose. Julian doesn't give a fuck about the Masquerade. Julian has links to you. I wouldn't be surprised if those factors, combined perhaps with stuff happening behind the scenes that the Courier never sees, is why Lettow at first believes you're an agent of the SI.
Basically -- Lettow sees Julian pulling shit, and at first thinks it’s because he’s part of the SI. Lettow sees you have connections to Julian (or perhaps the other way around) and thinks that because of that you have connections to the SI as well.
Later, Lettow does admit the idea is ridiculous, because he sarcastically tells Dove (paraphrased) “why yes, I’m sure that this vampire isn’t helping the vampire hunters.”
(I also believe that Julian is the one that actually SENT the video of Jasper's death to Lettow. I honestly can't think of any other explanation as to who it can be from. Obfuscate doesn't work with electronic devices, indicating the video has been doctored to hide Julian, and who would do that except Julian himself, especially since he tells us that he has video editing skills? Julian knew that Jasper was recording, but didn't wipe the video or take the camera to erase evidence of his crime. So who else but Julian sent that video?)
Anyway, moving on --
Before the final confrontation between you, Julian, and Lettow, there's a moment where Lettow is reading his book and asks you in a tired, soft voice "I need to know why you--". He never gets to finish that thought, but I'm pretty sure he's asking why you killed her. However, after the warehouse meeting, Lettow decides to spare both you and Julian?? Because he's tired and lonely?? I dont get it, what's his agenda? Why spare them?
My impression is that it was just that -- because he was tired and lonely.
At first he lets you live because his couriers are dropping like flies and he needs every one he can get. And as the story goes on, he gets tireder and tireder until he seems on the brink of succumbing to torpor himself. (Bitch is 200 years old and whining about how old he is even though he had an 800YO girlfriend!) At the end of the story, he's exhausted.
And he's also quite clearly severely depressed. And apathy is a strong symptom of depression.
So yeah. I think he spares both the courier and Julian simply because he's too tired and depressed to give a flying fuck any more. Aila's gone, killing the courier won't bring her back. What's the point in killing them? What's the point in killing Julian, when he demonstrates several times he thinks Julian is no threat? (He's wrong, but he clearly underestimates Julian -- he tells Julian that the Masquerade will survive Julian, and he tells Dove that Julian is "just an Anarch.")
I also think his feelings regarding Aila herself are complicated -- it must HURT to survive someone who died via what's essentially suicide. He knows Aila was suicidal. He must have complicated feelings regarding that -- feelings like he wasn't enough, feelings like maybe she didn't love him as much as he loved her.
So yeah. I think he was too tired and lonely and too devastated to care about enacting justice against either of them. I think he just wanted to put it behind him. Run away to the Middle East, let it go, put it behind him, never think about it again.
As for Lettow’s agenda itself?
I’m not going to say he can’t be manipulative. But I do believe he isn’t as manipulative as the other Princes, and that he sincerely does want to do better than they do.
The biggest evidence in support of this, if nothing else, is that Lettow is Gangrel. Gangrel, as a rule, don’t do political bullshit. They tend not to participate in the Jyhad. They tend to be loners, and they often don’t raise their own childer -- so they (often) lack a mentor/mentee relationship that other clans have, meaning that nobody was there to mentor them in ways to survive, let alone thrive, in political bullshit.
So that means Lettow would be drastically inexperienced in manipulation and bullshit outside of what he’d have seen as a mortal aristocrat, and would also probably be way less tolerant of political bullshit than other Kindred. He doesn’t have Dominate to help him. He doesn’t have Presence to help him. Just a magic bird, his own shapeshifting skills and what his friends can give him.
Remember that Lettow became Prince because there was literally nobody else available. He said so himself that he basically stepped into the job because there was nobody else -- he was the one that killed the old Prince (and in a rather extra way, no less) and there were no other Elders in the area.
Plus, by this stage, Aila was dead and he wanted to hunt down her murderers. Or, if I have my timelines incorrect, she was in torpor and therefore vulnerable and in need of protection.
What better way to do that than with the resources a Prince had at his disposal?
I don’t think it’s a complete coincidence that he stopped being a Prince on the same night that he finally confronted her killer.
TL;DR --
Lettow doesn't trust the Courier as much if their relationship with the Camarilla isn't great.
Lettow underestimates Julian, and doesn't think he's a threat at all, even though it's almost certainly Julian that drew the SI to Tucson like flies to honey.
By the end of the story, Lettow is deeply depressed, apathetic, and on the border of succumbing to torpor and ennui himself because of that, and so literally doesn't care enough any more about bringing Julian and the Courier to justice.
Unlike other Princes, Lettow is from a clan that typically is separate from all this political bullshit, has no social Disciplines, and had a motive to be Prince in that his lover was dead and he wanted to find her killer with any resources he could get to be at his disposal. So I truly believe that while he may feel the need to be manipulative from time to time, he truly did want just what was best for the Kindred around him.

I'm sorry for asking all the time. I just found your Tumblr and don't know what you do and do not want to see. The reason why I can't not support Edelgard is because she's someone in need of support so badly and is so ready to trust the first person she thinks she can that it makes me kind of understand how she feels through my own experiences. I know it's just a game and I don't mind playing the other routes, but I just can't make myself betray her.
While I don’t get emotionally attached to fictional characters in that way I understand why you’d feel that way. It’s clearly what the developers were intending with CF, that Byleth/the player’s decision to side with Edelgard would be emotional rather than logical, and it’s apparently something some of them felt strongly enough about to even make CF in the first place. All the discourse surrounding the route comes from people trying to force it to be a logical choice, because saying you went with the villain route simply because you want to support/marry/fuck the protagonist isn’t going to go over well in the kinds of circles that take issue with enjoying fictional villains. Playing as a villain should be fun - a big reason why Hubert is one of the high points of CF for me, because the man is having the time of his weird evil life - and shouldn’t require logical or moral justification.

Why Tlou2 isn’t a good game
First I want to start with rants and opinions of gameplay channels (I had to type all these down while listening. They’re not in any way manipulated,if u want, u can watch the videos urself)
pewdiepie:
''everything was a mess''
''the game had a lot of potential to be good''
''would i play it again? no i wouldn’t.''
''they tried something different and i don’t think it really worked.''
''it didn’t fit the last of us''
''half the game was abby...its fucking crazy''
''give it a rating? uhhh...probably like a 6 out of 10. I’m not really passionate about this shit''
tyler1:
''joel's not stupid''
''okay i understand Ellie not killing Abby cuz she was in such a shitty spot, but why would the devs even do that?''
''no body gets a moment except for Abby''
''this entire game was such a waste of fucking time, don’t even make the third one.''
''this shit was so sad to play''
''there was no progress made anywhere, you’re just running back and forth''
''why did we play as abby for so long''
''why was i forced to beat the shit out of Ellie as Abby''
''this whole game is a fucking message''
''sex scenes were out of place, you just added it to add it''
''you should be ashamed of yourselves, devs''
''i don’t like how stupid the characters were, you develop characters and in the end they do something the opposite''
''(the part in aquarium when they forgot the map) you’re telling me TOMMY,okay i understand ellie might forget cuz it was her first time killing a pregnant woman, she MIGHT forget, lets give it a benefit of the doubt,Tommy is not a dumbass, never in the million years would he forget it (the map) and it was right by her feet''
''they’re not stupid''
''joel is almost 60 years old,he survived for 40+ or 30+ years, and he's that dumb? oh get the fuck out of here''
''same way when earlier in the game, when joel and tommy, again they were apparently biggest fucking idiots in the game, followed two random people into a trap, and joel dies. bullshit''
''you’re gonna throw all that away and have joel be a fucking r*t*rd?''
''and then tommy, who is his equal? absolutely not.''
''a second game in the series, from how good the first one was,to this game right here, this might be actually the worst game i ever played.''
''1 out of 10, simply because it ran''
''they literally shit all over ellie for no reason''
''(while playing as abby) literally fucked up my mood''
sodapoppin:
''the beginning of the game was god tier, because we had joel and ellie and other characters''
''and then we play as the fridge. Nothing in those 12 hours had anything to do with ellie or joel''
''it was just a bunch of i don’t give a fuck about whos and side quests''
''i really don’t give a fuck i’m sorry''
''they started with a 10 out of 10 game and converted to 2 out of 10''
''ellie and fridge have a fight, hype as fuck,NO ONE DIES,tommy who is a badass,,,THEY SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD''
''playing as fridge i cared so little,i literally tried to speedrun it''
''the ending was good, but i would’ve changed it a lot. Made it more about ellie''
theradbrad:
''i didn’t like when she was holding dina down, ellie told her she was pregnant and she said good,if lev wasn’t there..
i feel like,,,i don’t want a good ending for abby at all''
''i still feel no attachment to abby like i do with ellie''
''I feel like they were trying to make you feel bad for her (like manipulation)''
''we didn’t know Joel was going to die hours into the game in such a way that’s so unlike him''
''i felt like they wanted to make abby's portions of the game more memorable, by making them better. Doesn't mean the character's better''
''they put a lot of the most exciting parts of the game, the haven being burned down, the horse ride out of there, that alone was more exciting
than anything in ellie's portion''
''i personally didn’t like abby's character,i like some stuff she did besides killing joel''
''and i didn’t like any of her friends. I didn't care when owen died,i hated when pregnant girl had to die''
''i cared for jesse,he was probably the most underrated character in the entire game''
''i don’t like what happened to any character. One character i didn't feel bad for was abby's dad, like joel killing her dad.. good. And ellie should've at least appreciated that and i think she slowly realized towards the end of the game: Joel did this for me''
''but after everything is over, she let her (abby) live. We all wanted her to die,but i had a feeling something like that wasn't going to be the case''
''but i think she beat her down good''
''did i like it? i did like some events of the game,i didn’t like some characters,i didn't like abby, i liked her story,i didn't like the fact that she killed joel, like i didn't like her from the jump, but over time i like that she helped lev''
''how joel died was so uncharacteristic. He didn't trust anyone in the first game,he wouldn't even give out his name,he was driving over people with a truck''
''the game wanted me to feel bad for abby but i don't care about her. I cared more about what happened to lev''
''the game wasn't bad''
now, here are some videos that are worth watching:

also,AngryJoe has a good video about the last of us 2, check that out as well. My point is, people blatantly defending this game are in denial. ‘’You are manipulated to like joel!!!!’’ no. What they gave showed us about Joel in the first game served as a backstory as to why is Joel the way he is. He doesn’t trust anyone, isn’t attached to anyone simply because if they die and he cared about them,it would once again destroy him. The only person he trusted the most was Tess (and tommy),yet we see Tess sacrifice herself and we clearly see how upset Joel is over her death. It’s basic storytelling. The giraffe part of the game served as a small break from the dark stuff that keeps happening. It was a small moment of joy and peace for both Ellie and Joel (The giraffe symbolizes grace, peace, individuality, protection, communication). I’d say they’re manipulating us to like Abby,a very disliked character because of her actions. They’re showing her in a better light than Ellie (example below):
Tumblr media
‘‘But that’s just some gaming channels, only the minority dislike the game!!!’‘ Nope.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these are just some comments out of thousands and thousands of other that voice their displeasure (last one was about the vaccine and how killing Ellie is pointless).
The sales have dropped by 80%, many MANY people are selling their copies on various sites, because they realized the leaks were true and the story is a complete mess. (It’s mostly japanese players that are selling their copies, so u could say they’re least satisfied).
Is the game bad? yes, in some ways. Is it complete trash? no. The graphics are out of this world, voice acting is absolutely amazing.
This is not an attack to people who enjoyed this game, this serves as an example and explanation as to why people dislike this game.
It’s definitely not a 10/10 game. It has a lot of flaws. It’s more like 5/10 or weak 6/10. I personally didn’t enjoy 90% of the game. I was p stoked when it got announced. After i found out about the leaks (which was just joel’s death, nothing else) i still gave this game and the devs a benefit of the doubt.
p.s. review bombing this game with positive scores doesn’t make u any better than those who review bombed it with negative scores. And don’t attack actors because of this game, especially Laura Bailey (Abby’s actor).
(if i made any mistakes, my bad, i’m not a native english speaker)

Pikmin 3 Is a Wonderful Gem
Pikmin 3 was one of my most anticipated games for the Nintendo Switch. I didn't have the good fortune of owning a WiiU, so I never got to experience the third game for myself. After spending 60 dollars on the title, fixing myself up for a long weekend, to my surprise I beat the game in two days...but was I disappointed?
Absolutely not.
Gameplay: Pikmin 3 forces you to take control of three captains who had crash landed on the planet of PNF-404, a planet encompassed with dangerous fauna, familiar faces, and delicious fruit. Using the captains to form smaller groups of Pikmin, you can effectively multitask across each of the diverse maps available.
Several puzzles force you to use this feature by giving you the ability to flung captains alongside Pikmin, effectively allowing you to reach new areas both high and far. This ability is best used with small groups performing tasks across the map. Having one captain destroy a gate while another keeps charge of pikmin harvesting berries. Meanwhile you can have your final pikmin harvesting the corpses of enemies to make even more pikmin!
In this regard, you can play in anyway you want. If you want to keep your pikmin together to keep an army of 100 so you may overpower all in your path, you are certainly free to do so..you may just be hurting a bit on time in comparison to if you divided and conquered. To add onto this, there is a familiar special ability which allows you to split your army apart into the specific elements at your disposal so you can clearly choose the best group for the job.
The objective of the game as you quickly find out is to gather as much fruit as you can to bring back to your home planet of which is having a rather serious issue: starvation. So you'll be looking in every nook and cranny for each piece of fruit you can find to juice and bring back home.
The fruit are finite, and each gives you a specific amount of juice for fruit. Some fruits have enough juice to give you two days worth of sustenance while others barely give half. It is certainly a welcome change from the first game's finite time limit. It allows players to be rewarded for how well they are performing instead of giving them a deadline. This is a huge gripe many had with the previous installments as well as other games with a similar time limit (Dead Rising comes to mind)
Alongside the fruits, powerups lay hidden amongst the maps which give you certain abilities. I won't dive into this as not to spoil it for any of you new players, but all I'll say is it is worth it to check every corner. To retrieve these treasures, you will have to use a specific amount of pikmin for each item. You can use a bit more than the maximum per treasure to make the journey back to the ship far more quicker. During this time, I recommend traveling with your pikmin so none shall perish to the random hazards of elements and enemies that may have slugged in the way of the path.
With a lot of multi tasking and pathing involved in this new installment, it seems the developers worked more with the pause menu. A map allows you to see the areas you have explored and seen, marking a small green blip for each creature you spot. This was done intentionally so the player would be unaware of what lay in a path and to determine their best plan of action. To walk through the shorter parh with several blips and pray they are not too dangerous, or go around. A new feature with the mapping system also works alongside how you will be controlling three captains. You can now go to your map, scroll to an area, and press where you would like your captain to walk to. This will trigger whatever captain and pikmin group you have selected to automatically path to the point you selected. This allows for large scale multitasking in which you can have two captains traveling to destinations while your third deals with an entirely different task. A very welcome development for people such as I who want to use their time as wisely as possible.
Combat is roughly the same as the previous installments: overwhelm by sheer number while also avoiding the attacks that have a potential to wipe your armies. Picking the right pikmin for each battle is crucial...but to be honest I felt like this game gave me a bit too much leniency for making mistakes. For instance, there wasn't too much punishment for throwing an incorrect pikmin at an opposite element. You can just whistle them before they perish and all will be okay. Maybe it's my new game wisdom I have earned from thousands of hours of gaming, but I don't remember pikmin 1 being so easy.
Pikmin 3 also brings back the system in which you can slay your enemies...and use their bodies as mulch to grow your garden empire upon.
Your empire is stored in a pikmin bulb! In previous games you would have several bulbs, each being a different color representing the different pikmin types. In this game, there is only one bulb which is chromatic and swirls with different colors. Although I miss the triple pikmin bulb threat and getting violent/white pikmin from the ship, this is a welcome change since it allows the player to quickly populate a group instead of wasting time going to each bulb.
You can carry the corpses of creatures you kill with your pikmin to their bulb to create even more pikmin! It's always been my favorite part of the pikmin games because it rewards you for playing intelligently and conservatively.
An interesting development from Pikmin 1 and 2 to this new game is the replacement of the C stick directing agility of the pikmin to a new ability which allows you to send your pikmin forward all at once with a ravenous screech of war. It's great to quickly swarm an enemy, or to feverishly collect fruits and other valuables by surrounding them. While I shall miss the previous agility to accurately create a tendril like construct with my pikmin, I absolutely love the new battle rush!
Each pikmin, as the previous games, have their own situations they are best in. Reds are best at fighting situations, when things get heated up. Yellows for digging and reaching high spaces. Blues are good at swimming...yeah. Then this game introduces two new pikmin at the cost of two of the previous types introduced in Pikmin 2. Stone pikmin and flying pink pikmin replace the fat sumowrestler purple pikmin and toxic white pikmin. Stone pikmin are best when cracking open the defences of enemies or crystal rocks found around the maps. Hell these are my second favorite pikmin because of how they attack. Rather than use their leaves utop their hard heads, they just RUN INTO the enemy as hard as they can. It's amazing. Then my favorite: pink pikmin rule the sky..though they are the weakest in combat (though never underestimate the swarm >:] ) you can have up to 100 total of a combination of the pikmin. My personal favorite is 20 of each, as something special happens as you walk with them.
Spicy berries and bombs make a return in this game. Shrouding your pikmin in a special dust created by the planet's berries gives them a special buff that lets them go mad with energy, moving quickly and hitting harder. What's important in pikmin 3 is that the berry mechanic is much different than the previous games. This game allows the process to be automated. Berries are grown back in minutes, so pikmin can constantly move back and forth from the ship to the plant to harvest more juice in comparison to the previous games where once you harvested a berry plant, it was done for the day.
Bombs allow you to do 'tons of damage'. Throwing a pikmin with a bomb makes the pikmin drop the bomb and run in terror to avoid the massive blast. These are typically used to take down the toughest of obstacles- be it wall or wild creature, nothing shall stand in your way.
These bombs allow you to go forward so you may find shortcuts to shorten your time traveling...and now the final feature I would like to mention is the time system. Each day you are given a specific amount of time to explore the map before day changes to night...and the nocturnal predators awaken from their hungry slumber to feast. Before this time, you must gather your pikmin up as they are helpless without you. If you are unable to gather all of your pikmin, at the end of the day alongside a cinematic of you leading your pikmin to safety, you will have to watch the pikmin you left behind consumed by the hungry beasts of the night...it's rather sad and I would recommend to take track of each pikmin you send out. I have heavy attachments to even these little guys and it pained me just to lose one :c...BUT!
To combat this sad ending, the developers did something wonderful and added a brand new feature to your ship. You can walk to your ship and select a massive whistle option which will attempt to call back EVERY single pikmin on the map granted they can path their way to the ship. This was such an excellent feature as I always had one or so random pikmin in each map getting caught on something random and being stuck. With this tool, it gets rid of a lot of the stress of poor npc pathing which plagued the games before. Sure the pikmin can still get caught, but now there is a proper solution.
Also: there are missions and side content to do if youd like. I enjoyed it! Certainly felt alright...but i still enjoyed the main story more. I never was a huge fan of these types of side missions...didn't really feel like Pikmin.
I also understand there are harder difficulties, but truthfully I hate having a difficulty meter review, so I typically play on normal.
VISUALS and AUDIO
The Pikmin series has never looked so beautiful. It still holds the familiar cartoon wonders we all loved. Those small moments of captains sticking their eyes out in surprise or pikmin expressing themselves in cute little squeaks of joy or terror. The water is gorgeous, the plant life is vibrant, and the wildlife is horrifying. Seriously, the creatures in this game have never looked so revolting yet adorable at the same time.
You can take pictures of the world with the camera feature which is nice. It gives you a complete POV from the captain's point of view which is quite hilarious to see pikmin right in front of your face. Adorable little things just staring at you both full of wonder and waiting for direction. I really don't know what else to put here since I can't describe the game by any point except cute since the game isn't about its visuals in the slightest, so I'll leave it at the game absolutely nailing what it was going for.
Overall:
I really enjoyed this game, no matter how little time it took to finish it. It was a happy gift to my childhood in which I got to experience another mouthful of happy juice. It was something I was really looking forward to and I have a certain someone out there who can attest to that.
Nintendo did a fine job in tuning the nobs of the game in a way that made it better yet still paid respects to the previous installments. I can't explain just how quickly I was taken back to my childhood with the familiar Pikmin themesong that I could sing at any moment on the spot because of how many times I've heard it. I think we all have those sensations that bring us back to moments when we were kids...mine always seemed to be sounds and music, be it the login music of Runescape to the Pikmin themesong. I almost have tears listening to some tracks...but regardless!
Pikmin has always been one of those games I can look at and just say "yeah. that's fun". I love the ability to command troops, make friends, and explore, and this game did all three in a cutely brutal way that I can respect. While I found some disappointment in how short my journey, nothing shall ever beat my love for Nintendo's Gem that has been in my memories for years. I highly recommend you give this game a shot.
