Hob does cosplay at the conventions he attends. He's done a lot of popular fandoms and has become semi-internet famous for how good his cosplays are. He's never charged for a photo or done it professionally. It's just his hobby.

Dream is a photographer. He attends a lot of cons to snap professional pictures of the panels and is often just there to make some cash. Not that he doesn't have an interest in fandom. He just believes that a piece of media and your reaction to that media is personal. He has to really really enjoy something to get into the fandom of that thing.

They meet while Dream is taking a smoke break in between panels. Hob was trying to escape a rather touchy fan threatening to ruin his delicate costume. They chat and hit it off, Hob invites him to a room party after the con. They fuck and life goes on.

Until the next convention, some anime festival that's big for their neck of the woods. The pay is great and Dream gets to sit in on a screening of a rather obscure Japanese film that's just now being subbed. He also runs into Hob there, he's dressed as Tuxedo Mask and has drawn in a lot of Sailor Scouts who want photos with him and the real roses he's been carrying around to give to all the Usagi cosplayers.

They meet again during a smoke break and once again Hob invites him up to his room. Rinse and repeat.

But now Dream is kinda obsessed? Hob is a very good lay and a wonderful conversation partner. But alas, Hob never gave him his socials or his number. They haven't even exchanged names.

The next big con happening is Star Trek. Brent Spiner and Micheal Dorn are gonna be there, it's great. Unfortunately there's no need for Dream to attend bc they didn't hire him. They hired someone a bit cheaper than he is. There's also a massive wedding he's been approached to shoot and the money is too good to pass up.

Dream comes to the con dressed in some cheap Amazon knock-off Starfleet uniform and goes looking for his man. He finds Hob talking with John De Lancie while dressed as Judge Q. He approaches and attempts to talk to Hob, who brings up his shitty costume. Dream feels a bit self conscious about this until Hob invites him back to his room. After all he has a few costumes Dream can use <3

Omg cosplayer Hob 🥵 I immediately imagined him as Toji from jjk (with a big plushie worm cursed spirit) and I don't think I'll ever recover from the hotness.

Dream is genuinely obsessed with this funny, beautiful, talented man. And yes, he did stalk Hob online a little bit, ok. He may have watched one (or a thousand) of his tiktoks. But he doesn't have the courage to message Hob outside of their lil meet up and fuck routine. He'd die inside if Hob didn't message him back! Meeting him in person is somehow less intimidating - maybe because he can see Hob's kind, smiling face.

And holy fuck, he's glad that he went to that Star Trek con. Hob practically drags him back to his room and they barely even make it to the bed. Hob tears the shitty uniform apart (rip, it served him well) and ravishes Dream, almost like he's been thinking about Dream every day since they last met up... he eventually confesses after fucking Dream to the point of seeing stars, that he found Dream’s website and details online but felt too shy to reach out to him...

Dream just has to roll Hob over and eat him out until he cries. He's too happy and delighted to do anything else!

A few months later they hit up a big con together, dressed as Aziraphale and Crowley. Hob made their costumes and all the accessories and Dream spends the whole day taking pics of his boyfriend and telling everyone how talented Hob is <3

i know loads of other people have written and theorised about this, and there was an amazing post about how someone knew the actual owner of the bentley and how things had to get swapped around*, but for the sake of my own bloody sanity i needed to go through all the bentley snippets we see re: seat colours, interior door panel colours, and the bond transfers because otherwise it was going to drive me loopy-

*if anyone has a link for this post, please wing it over to me and i will link, it was really interesting!!!

let's start with the 1941 and 1967 flashbacks where we see the bentley: ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels (as far as i can tell) ✅ bullet decal (1967):

then let's move to s1. tbh, i've only done this for the sake of full disclosure, but as far as i can tell, ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels ✅ bullet decal (no pics but fairly content that they're there in all scenes):

*correction, apologies! middle right should be ep4!

and then, post bentley going up like kindling, and being resurrected by adam, we can see what looks to be black seats and, i'd hazard is an open window (given the lack of shimmer/reflection compared to the window on its left) - see we can't confirm the bullet decals. however - and mainly because it doesnt fit the pattern im about to lay out - this image is very zoomed in, and lighting quality isn't quite reliable. so personally, im considering this as inconclusive:

so now let's move onto s2. eps 1 and 2 are fairly straightforward, ✅ brown seats ✅ brown panels ✅ bullet decal:

episode 1: (3rd and 4th images are before and after the beelzebub interaction)

episode 2:

but here's where things get interesting (stating the obvious, i know that everyone knows this), but given that this is when aziraphale takes the bentley - after the very poignant "our car' discussion - we can see the following:

setting off from soho: ✅ brown seats ✅ bullet decal ❓brown panels, but likely

on the way to edinburgh: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

arrival in edinburgh: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

okay, well, he changed the bodywork and hubcaps too, so this makes sense. but black? for aziraphale? feels somewhat like it's a compromise; he's gone ostentatious on the outside, literally the colour of crowley's eyes, but red leather for the interior... is a little much. so he compromises - keeps the decals (to honour his knight in turtleneck armour), but changes the inside to a cool, suave black. very 007.

but then we go to ep4, and specifically when aziraphale is accosted by shax. now, clear point to remember - shax has to have permission to enter, and compared to ep2 when she asks but materialises inside anyway, she now waits for aziraphale to acquiesce. this is the difference between a demon's car, and a demon-and-angel-couple-who-arent-quite-yet-a-couple-but-thats-just-semantics' car. by this point, crowley has accepted, agreed, that it is their car.

hitchhiker: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

return to soho: ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels

ep5 carries on in much the same way as the end of ep4 - crowley has not changed anything since edinburgh, ❌ black seats ✅ bullet decal ❌ black panels (not pictured, but can be seen in the same bit as the first pic):

and then ep6, beloved. again, nothing has changed. crowley's window is, however, rolled down in the departure scene, so the decal can't be accounted for. that being said, im fairly sure we can be certain it's there (and i have a thought about why it's rolled down but tbh it's so arbitrary that it's barely worth mentioning imo). in any case, ❌ black seats ❓ bullet decal ❌ black panels:

now i know there's the whole separate thing about the exterior changing from light grey to dark grey/black, but tbh i think that is going to be down to the continuity issue with the original bentley used in s1. as for neil's answers on his asks, here and here... look. could be something of nothing, but i don't think personally it's a wider conspiracy; i think it could be just be either that yeah, maybe some of my colour assignments in the above screenshots are wrong, or he's doing his parent-teacher-writing thing of what do you think?

maybe not, maybe it was a continuity issue, and we just have to apply hc to this to get an explanation.

well, mine is just simply that it's not a nefarious issue or mucking about with time etc... i think crowley just accepted aziraphale's ownership, and whilst he drew the line at yellow bodywork (the respectable choice imo, tbh), he kept everything else.

Okay... so about that RadioTimes article

I was gonna make a post about this earlier and I didn't because I didn't feel like my thoughts were in a place that didn't come off as

But I think I've got my thoughts somewhat together, so I'm just gonna drop my (admittedly unnecessary) two cents on the whole thing.

"Imagined romance"

My question to whoever wrote this: have you watched the show and/or engaged with any other interviews involving cast/writers?

Not only is it (sometimes obvious) subtext in the show, but it's been confirmed by actors and writers alike. You don't even need to do much digging to find out about it. To me, it feels like it feeds too much into this idea that you can only have a romance if it's explicitly mentioned/shown through physical intimacy, which it doesn't! The show actually depicted a healthy, loving relationship between two beings without physical intimacy only for the fans to be publicly labelled as somewhat delusional for seeing it.

And then there's this bit...

(I'm saying this as a cishet female, so please jump in with corrections/added context if needed).

This made me feel incredibly weird when I first read this because the quote used didn't seem to be proving much of the point they were making. Putting aside the absurdity that is "resisted pressure to give in to the fan-fiction phenomenon", the fact that they immediately jump to using a quote about the characters' understanding of gender as proof of there being no romance feels so odd.

Am I just misinterpreting this whole section or something because the entire thing seems to be saying "Gaiman disproved the fans' delusion of an imaginary romance by confirming that neither Crowley nor Aziraphale understand the human concept of gender" as if the characters being gender non-conforming is proof that they aren't romantically involved?

Like, are we running with the idea that a romance can only be built between two people who each conform to a specific gender category? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I am genuinely baffled.

Or are they trying to say that they don't understand human concepts like gender and are therefore also unlikely to understand romance? (Edit: But even if they don't understand the concept of romance, surely that doesn't exclude them from experiencing those feelings). Or did they just pull a random quote that didn't quite work because there isn't actually one of Gaiman explicitly saying that there is no romantic connection?

Other than the last two paragraphs, I actually found the article to be quite interesting. But the end left a sour taste in my mouth.

On the plus side, we did get this gorgeous pic today. 🩵

Like I said earlier, please add corrections or context if necessary. Or just drop your thoughts in general. I know people were taken aback a bit by the article and while I don't think there was malicious intent or anything by the writer, it feels misguided.

But enjoy the Ineffable Husbands sitting on a rock together because it's a gorgeous photo.

So I know you guys probably all caught this because you’re all on the ball, but I’m going to point it out anyway. And because I am a disaster who can’t make gifs, I am borrowing these screen grabs from my current fave fanvid by @moveslikebucky (go watch this video - it’s too many good things XD). There’s been a lot of discussion about whether or not Aziraphale or Crowley actually need to snap in order to perform magic, and the consensus is no, they don’t. But in this scene in particular, Crowley is either snapping or flicking his finger, as you see in the bottom right, because he’s also removing the red paint from his chest.

You can see the red lifting away in this bottom pic (go watch the vid on full screen. It’ll be easier.) the point I’m making is that the whole ‘blowing the stain away’ thing is just Crowley being an extra flirty b*tch XD

12. roman hair - it’s BAD fam if he needs short hair this is NOT the look that’s all i have to say about that

7. world war ii - he gets points for it being the hairstyle he kills nazis with and the whole Aziraphale Thing™, but alas, it’s kinda boring. it is a cool hat though

6. nanny ashtoreth - points for Gender™ but also there’s better Gender™ looks sorry

5. 1960s - he looks like if joyce byers was a beatle. iconic

4. 2012 man bun - FIRST GENUINELY GOOD HAIRSTYLE. BEST MODERN GENDER™ LOOK BY FAR. AMAZING. STUNNING. BEAUTIFUL. the fact that he only wore this for probably a year at most? criminal

3. present day bird - i recognize that this is very high ranking and maybe unfairly so but 1. i remember the first time i saw it and was so elated that he wouldn’t be wearing the Bad 2007 Look Do Not @ Me Hair™ through the whole show that when i look at it now i still have residual happiness. 2. the hair floop in the scenes at the ex-hospital singlehandedly made me realize that maybe i DO have a crush on david tennant (this was after i saw him in both doctor who and fright night, among other things), and 3. he looks like every smith lesbian i had a crush on who was painfully out of my league

2. 1970s - OOHHH YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS GONNA BE NUMBER ONE HUH ??? DIDN’T YOU HUH ?? WELL U WERE WRONG but it is very good unironically. i love him

1. mesopotamia/jesus times - put together because they are pretty much exactly the same except for the MAGNIFICENT headscarf and if i had to choose between them my Definite Number One would be jesus times but i didn’t want them to be number one and two. anyway. it seems he wore this hair for upwards of three thousand years and frankly it was one of his best decisions. crowley please bring this back thank u
