What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
I love Kingfisher's writing style. It's very comforting in an odd way; almost like the story is coming from a reliable friend. Full of personality and quirky thoughts from the purposefully flawed main character.
I hope to read all of T. Kingfisher's books.

-Fredrik Bakman

"The wind asked for payment. It asked for our stories. So we have told them, to each other and to the greedy breezes. We are a nation of two, a witch and a warrior, a warrior and a witch, and we lie under the stars at night so close that our pulses kiss. Our little grey boat bobs on the waves. When our words fly past our ears, they become mere scraps on the wind, rumours told now only in the language of seabirds. I don’t have Odin’s gift for prophecy and I don’t want it, but I have travelled between worlds and fallen through time enough to have a sense of how the future crouches in the shadows. Someday, there will be shapes like us in stories forged out of old swords and older rings. Let them say what they will, but let them remember that we burned down the world to save it, and the nature of the world is that it can always burn again."
Kate Heartfield, The Valkyrie.

May one taste leave you longing for more, so that if you find yourself some day to come across a copy of one of Kahlil Gibran's works you will be blessed with the spirit to impel you to read further on into his works of wonder.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
