Mclennon fandom, READ.

Unfortunately we've had a 12-year old soul on me and Puck’s Discord server who managed to HACK a member’s Discord and AO3, sending messages under their name and editing their fics by deleting the work body. The hacker has been a lurker on the server, consequently there will be nuking of those who haven’t spoken a word since joining the server (or whom we don't personally know). The server is meant to be a safe space, and we can't have a child rampaging around and annoying people.

Same person has been leaving hilarious hate comments on AO3 under the anon username “bitch pls” and “fuckyou”, which I encourage you NOT to take seriously, because this is a child (or at least someone with the mind of a 12-year old) leaving them. Please keep that in mind if you take a defensive stance.

Neither should you let those comments get to you. They’re written by someone who’s looking for attention and validation through the wrong measures, so best is if you ignore them completely. If you want to see an example of the hate comments, check my latest oneshot “Day 1: Phone Sex”. (rip spank bank challenge, but i’ve been bUSY. R I P) Lad is a troll, and if you ignore them, they should eventually stop commenting. ‘Cos ykno, not getting a rise out of people is boring :(

From now on (and if you got nuked but wanna come back), if you want to join the server for our streams, please send a PM to either me or @imaginebeatles, and we’ll verify who you are and give you the invite link. Now that there is a 12-year old hacker creating (minor) havoc in the fandom, I suggest some carefulness for all of us. Please consider the following:

1) change your fandom passwords to something strong and unique! (the kid managed to get the member’s password via a weak email password, so like, LONG, STRONG PASSWORDS, LADS)

you can use a password manager, i use lastpass which is free and works great. i also generate all my passwords there.

2) enable 2step authentication wherever possible (at least on tumblr, discord, and your email. it’s easy, takes like 5min)

Stay safe ladderstonies and be kind to each other! And remember, the server is just as open as before, only with some additional security measures now. We don’t need actual 12-year olds raining on our parade ;)

As a sidenote, there will be a stream tomorrow at 8PM GMT+2, so join us there! not you, kid. you’re out. sorry.
