The difference between public psychiatric hospitals n private mental health clinics are staggering. It's like they're focused on two different sciences, one where you force poor people to suffer n take enough drugs that they stop acting out, and the other where rich people get to play music, plant gardens, ride horses, and are hand taught how to survive. LIKE BRO THAT SHIT WOULD HELP EVERYONE WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT NOT DOING THAT

#I was researching mental health clinics and found one n i was like #wait #that like ACTUALLY sounds like it'd help #as someone who's been in the psychiatric hospital system #NOT GOOD DOES NOT HELP JUST FORCES PEOPLE TO SHUT DOWN BC THEY'RE UNCOMFORTABLE AND BEING IGNORED #it definitely can help people #like it can #but it could be doing so much better n it wouldn't be much more difficult #“what about the really insane ones we gotta lock em up like the lunatics you are”#that's great but treating people like they're lunatics makes people feel like they're lunatics #as in treating em like that is making them act more like that #bc you're telling a real human person that “you're an unfixable lunatic”#so yeah no fucking wonder they feel like they can't be fixed
