“Oh, right…” Like woken up from a trance, Din gets up and heads for the fridge. To his horror, Luke sees Din open a regular milk carton and start filling a nursing bottle with the contents.

“No, Din, that’s not for babies!”

“What?”

“You can’t just give him normal milk. He needs that… what’s it called now? Infant formula?”

“Huh.” Din examines the milk carton in his hand, then slumps against the counter, defeated. “I was wondering why he kept puking everything out.”

main points:

- work on final command/understanding architecture

- 1:1 with mentor

- lunch at my desk

- spend all afternoon fixing presubmit tests

- melee with alex at 5pm

- melee with shang, mansfield and eric

- dinner + megalo box

- pool + melee tech grind

- chill at home

(writing this on tuesday july 31)

today i:

- woke up. snoozed cause i was tired af. ubered to work with damien

- went to work on updating my weekly todos. got a better sense of what command i need to build and understanding the architecture. figured out what i didn’t understand and prepared to ask my mentor in my 1:1

- had a 1:1. asked my mentor some questions i had to double check i understood everything fully. also planned out the rest of the week and what the rest of my internship will look like

- grabbed takeout from downstairs and brought it back to my desk to eat. i got my code working but i broke all the relevant unit tests. i thought it would just be diff’s in the tests but i realized that it was because of how i was implementing my code. i guess that’s why tests are helpful huh. it was cause there were multiple inputs but actually i should just redeclare the inputs. spent most of the afternoon going back and forth on this until it finally worked

- had to skip bboy session cause i was working on this :’( haven’t gone in two weeks now. but at least i practiced last monday after work and sunday at the office

- went to play melee with alex. who saw us playing melee last friday and suggested we should play. i was like hell yeah. he plays sheik and said that he played some in college. he’s good at matchup knowledge from experience, but he said he never really got into the tech grind. shortly after we started playing, shang, mansfield and eric also came to play. i lost most of my games to alex (we played like maybe 5 games) and then alex peaced out shortly after

i played shang and mansfield played eric. then john came to join and he played rotations with mansfield and eric. shang was playing all the characters and rekt me with all of them. mr. game and watch, luigi, mario, falcon, fox, falco, i think even bowser? not sure if i won that one. the guy’s got a wide arsenal. briefly chatted with eric about our common friend gary and karl

shang, eric and john peaced out so mansfield and i played for a while from like 6-7 ish? mansfield played puff which was interesting to go up against. then he played marth. he helped give me some feedback on my play style and what works and what doesn’t. one thing i can definitely improve on is working on is being too aggressive. like when i’m being pressured, i can be aggressive with falcon and then punish. but when he’s standing there in the corner, i get baited really easily and just run up and nair to try to hit him. mansfield suggested i throw out some bait nairs that don’t have any intention of hitting. i also go for style when it isn’t necessarily guarantee (like spiking). it was some good advice, i feel like i can definitely work on it

- went downstairs to grab dinner before it closed at 7:30pm. also the lobby is under renovation. the entire tile flooring is gone o-o they’re renovating the entire thing from scratch. they had salmon for dinner and it was delicious. mansfield had to catch a shuttle after eating for like 5 min but i got takeout cause i was planning to go back upstairs anyway. we chatted a bit about our music tastes, mine in edm and lowfi, his in trance and edm ish

brought the rest of my food back upstairs to eat and watch megalo box. i watched S1E10

- at that point it was like 8:30pm ish. i decided to go home but wanted to practice pool. played a game of pool with myself. then decided to play melee. did some tech grind until like 9:30pm...

i did a bunch of shield drop practice. i think i’m getting more consistent with it. and just general wave landing, wall jump practice

- ubered home and chilled from like 10pm - 12am. made a pb&j sandwich when i got home cause i was hungry for some reason. umm.. i think that was it. just chilling on youtube and stuff, the usual
