I keep coming up with cryptid!Batfam ideas, and @hallowsden is a very helpful coconspirator.
This is the Hell-touched AU
Constantine paused as the figure coalesced into a human shape, though his magic sight was privy to the multitude of eyes and shadows that stretched as far as he could see. "Bloody hell," he muttered, pulling out a cigarette, only to pause as several eyes bore into him, shadows slinking over, refusing to let him light the smoke.
"Perhaps I should have brought the swear jar." While the voice seemed normal at its most audible point, there was echoes and screeches buried beneath the words.
Before John could finish processing the jar comment, Batman stepped fourth and spoke in some language not of earth.
Constantine may have been magically versed in many languages but even he could only catch a few words, one of which angled somewhere towards 'caregiver'.
"Bats?"
"Not now, Clark." Part of his words dipped into the incomprehensible tongue, almost an overlay before he cleared his throat. "An issue has come up in Gotham, I am needed."
Gotham... somewhere the hellblazer refused to step foot in, the land reeking of sulfur and rotting magic, the air stagnant with pain and hopelessness, a city chained by greed and insanity.
The monstrosity's form layered over itself and Batman, before the two were gone with hardly a sound, no hint but the lingering scent and magic showcasing that they had ever stood in the room.
John shuddered and finally lit his cigarette. "Bloody Gothamites, the whole lot is cursed."
In this AU, Gotham is a part of hell, whether it was originally so and rose to the mortal realm, or because of the demon chained to its land - Lady Gotham. Whatever the reason, curses run rampant, and Lady was already weakened by being forced into the mortal realm. Because of this, she cannot do much, but nearly everyone in Gotham is demon-touched in some manner, but some also have inklings of being angrl-touched, some more than others.
The Waynes and Kanes are among the most hell-touched due to their long lineage in Gotham, but there are those Gotham tries to welcome with open arms and, in doing so, warps them to be more demonic than they should be as a newcomer. This does not always turn out well, as the chains on her limit her control
Some who are hell-touched have demonic traits, usually very minor and easy enough to excuse as meta traits if anyone ever asks. Others have much stronger traits, and there's the lucky ones who can morph their form, though they will never fully lose the traits of their demon-blood.
----------
Alfred seems the epitome of a normal butler from the outside, until you realize how unflappable he was towards Gotham's chaos, or hear his tales of being a veteran in years long gone. Perhaps he's yet another demon, right? But no, not even that fits him. And perhaps you'll never be privy to the full truth, but the Waynes and Gotham herself know. Alfred is no mere demon, he is eldritch, from before the world was even a speck in the Creator's eye. And while the children are physically fighting for Gotham, he is there for them, but he is also there for Gotham, spiritually untangling what he can from her.
Bruce Wayne's appearance doesn't seem to relay his ancestry as much as one might think, but his fangs and claws are clear for any to see, as well a his piercing blue eyes, glowing life sulfur flames amidst a backdrop of black sclera. Batman, on the other hand, has stiffly curving horns arcing over his head, leathery bat wings and a sturdy tail, with digitigrade legs and talons, perfect for scaring enemies or for carrying what appears to be his young.
Dick Grayson was never truly one of Gotham's. She certainly granted him care and consideration and treated him as kindly as her curses would let her, but he was never able to accept more than the slightest blessings, if they could be considered as such. He never learned to fly like Batman did, but he became faster and stronger, his only visible demonic traits being nails and teeth slightly sharpened. Even so, he put forth as much effort as the rest of the colony, doing his utmost to help anyone he could.
Barbara may have lost her ability to walk, but that doesn't mean she's defenseless. She still has her claws and horns, and a unique affinity for technology that she's worked hard to hone after what happened to her.
Jason Todd had wings too small for much more than gliding, but his autumn rich curls hid the beginnings of majestic horns, his pale blue eyes shining with a hope few in Gotham could muster. But Robin had augments to his wings, enabling short flight to follow his mentor, at least until his grounding. Gotham could not let go of him for long, and dragged him back herself, but failed to do so completely, watching him be whisked away by Talia. Red Hood never regained his wings, not fully, more bone than flesh, what few feathers left struggling not to fall off. Pain arcs through his body from time to time, but he has a duty to Gotham and her people, one he would willingly choose any day. As for his pit rage, it is the equivalent of eating something you cannot process, as his system already had its fill of demonic energy from Gotham.
Tim Drake was born in Gotham, but his family's adventures dragged him throughout the world until the tender preteens. Before that only, he had been loosely tutored on the travels, but now his parents had deemed public school of importance, and also thought he could help organize their collections when he was not learning. One night, while cleaning up a gallery, he found an artifact he apparently had not put away yet, a statue that Catwoman would find quite fascinating. Upon interacting with it, pain ricocheted through him. When it finally stopped, his form had been twisted. For anyone else the statue would have merely given one the abilities of a cat, perhaps a curse to go with them, but his supernatural features were malleable enough for the power to take advantage of, turning him into a human feline. Eventually, he went to join Batman as Stray, knowing he needed a Robin but not wishing to take the name on himself. Many rogues seemed to think him a child of Batman and Catwoman, and they oft went uncorrected. He likes to perch on his family.
Cassandra is demon-touched primarily through the league and proximity to the pits, but nothing strong enough to truly take root until Gotham welcomed her to her new home. While her features are limited to black sclera and not much else, she is strongest in the ability department, able to literally move through shadows and hide in them at will, though she cannot speak while doing so and it can be hard watching for a shadow signing. Due to her past and being hell-touched, she is a bit stronger than Dick, though not as physically strong as those who grew up in Gotham.
Duke is more angel-touched than the others are, resulting in the enhanced strength of his light abilities and visions. That doesn't mean there isn't demon in him though, it just showcases itself more quietly.
Stephanie may very well have the sharpest claws and fangs of the family, but her razor wit is one of her best attacks depending on who you ask. Her and Cass sometimes seem joined at the hip, and, while their styles are somewhat opposite, they work quite well together.
Damien was created with the blood of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, grown in a Lazarus Womb. He looks like a tiefling, with skin dark like Talia but tinted the slightest bit red like his father, burning green eyes like Talia but black sclera like Bruce, and the very same Wayne horns and talons that dominate the generations. He does not have wings and it seems unlikely he will ever have them, but that does not stop him in his tracks.

I was looking at cryptid batfamily stuff, and I kind of created my own AU.
So the Justice League meets The Bat. Maybe they find him or maybe he just shows up, but either way there's a primordial mass of Shadow and Nightmare with glowing white eyes in front of them, and whatever it is clearly isn't impressed.
But then. It takes off it's mask. And it's strange, because it's not so much taking off a mask as slipping it's claws into the shadowed skin below it's face and pulling until the darkness slips away like rubber and it's. A human.
Green Arrow recognizes him. Chokes on his spit and whispers "Bruce?" with a face like everything he's ever known is a lie. And the man just looks at him, even less impressed than he was as a shadow monster and it's just.
The suit. It's not a suit but it has to be, it has to be because he's wearing it and yet it moves like skin and breathes like flesh and it's like a monster just opened it's mouth and a person climbed out except the person and the monster are one.
Basically, Batman is the monstrous incarnation of Gotham's Fear and Grief (think this) but Bruce Wayne is just a tired man, and yet they are the same. You look at Bruce from the corner of your eye and you see shadows and fangs. The Batman holds a child with the clawless hands of a kind father. When he is emotional in either form one can hear music: almost like funeral bells and almost like screaming and almost like the sound of a gun falling on the floor, torn from cruel hands before they can hurt.
The other Bats are other aspects of Gotham. Dick is Joy and Defiance, Jason is Sacrifice and Revenge, Cass is Empathy and Unknowableness, Tim is Wonder and Exhausted Determination, Steph is Hope and the Continued Fight, Kate (Batwoman) is Wrath and Mercy, Duke is the Sunrise at the End of the Long Night, Damian is those that are Bleeding but Still Giving.
The Justice League manages to get them all in a room once and it's a terrible, awful choir, Gotham's deepest soul sing-screaming in their ears.

Batfamily as gods and godesses pt.1
So I've read that greek mythology au fic and I decided to make batfam gods, so here's a list of what they're gods of with explainations (sometimes), and their animal atribute, bc why not.
Alfred - he's a guardian god of secrets and wisdom. I don't think it needs explaining, but secrets part is about his MI6 past. His godly animal is stork, and I don't really have a reason for that, but it just fits, ok?
Bruce - he's a god of madness, grief and knowledge. And before ya'll get mad at me, his killing spree when he braks his rules is pure madness, and also like half of Gotham is messed up bc of him (Jason, Joker yk). Knowledge is kinda obvious, same as grief, which is center of his life. His godly animal is, suprise suprise, a bat.
Babs - she's a godess of forgotten women, rebirth, oracle and strategy. First one I don't think I need to explains, rebirth is about her return to vigilantism after Joker, oracle is also kind of obvious, and strategy is mostly coming from Birds of Prey as a team, and who Barbara is. Her animal gave me problem, bc I couldn't choose between martin and bluejay. Martin bc of how they 'predict' the rain, and bluejay symbolise communication and confidence. I decided on bluejay, but well... I leave it to you.
Dick - he's a god of new beginnings and anger of lonely fighters. New begginings are about him becoming Robin, starting a tem, then Nightwing and going to Blüdhaven, getting a job as a cop, then bringing those new begginings for Tim and Damian. Lonely foghters are mostly bc of new-52, and his whole angsty deal with Blüd. His godly animal is obviously a robin, but it also fits with new beginning, that robin symbolises.
So that's it for now, next will be Cass, Jason and Steph

So au idea Jason doesn't get adopted by Bruce Wayne but he does get adopted by A Batman....a tomorrow knight.....
So my idea is that somehow Terry mcginnis finds himself in the past of Gotham ( yes I'm going by Dcau continuity so it after after batman the animated series but before the new batman adventures is the time I'm thinking of this time misplaced.) So anyway Terry somehow find himself in crime Ally were he stumbled upon a young Jason Todd is trouble ( can't think if he's getting beat up or chase. You decide of the conflict) Terry being the hero that he is, no matter what time he's in, saves the little punk.
" you ok little guy?" Terry asked after the rescue. Young Jason is obviously ( and reasonably) scared out of his mind. Sure he has heard of the batman on the streets, even seen some photos of him in the newspapers. But batman looked like he was a demon from hell. Young Jason mind was quick change when the not batman gaved him his first real meal is week when he notices Jason stomach growled. ( How did Terry get the food might you ask ? Cause he's batman duh.)
With miraculously avoiding the young batman of the time, Terry does find a way back to his time, But a little someone tags along " come back with a souvenir, I see." The elderly Bruce Wayne says. This confused Terry so he says " what souvenir?" Then the elder Batman point his cane to Terrys leg so were young Jason Todd is hanging off of.
( it a good thing to mention that this is a little after return of the joker so old Timmy todd is here.) everyone is obviously freaking out. A literal child from 40 ish in the past is in their present. Tim recognized Jason Todd as they grew up together in crime Ally and the fact both their dad's worked for two face back in the day. Tim remembers Jason disappearing two weeks after Jasons dad got arrested and a year before he became Robin.
This is bad that means that Jason was ment to be here and if they send him back it could cause a time paradox. The question was now was what to do with the little punk. Tim thinks that Jason should go with him given their history. He's pretty sure that his wife wouldn't mind having an other kid around the house. Barbara even volunteers giving that her and Sam never had kids of their own. But Jason has already got attached to Terry and with won't let go of him, no matter how the other have try. He has already has chosen him emotional support batman. So Terry makes a decision....
Later Dana gets a call from Terry to meet up her at some place. When Dana gets there Terry says " I should of told you this a while ago but I'm batman." And before Dana has time to process this Terry then says " and I've recently become an teen father." Then he pulls out Jason from nowhere. " This is Jason my adoption son." ( "Dana meet our adopted son Jason." Terry probably.) Dana then also adopted Jason seeing that the little guy is so cute. It was also weird when Terry went home to explain to his mom and brother that they were now a grandma and uncle. ( Even when the child was around Matt's age.) max was also surprised with she Heard the story
Bruce legally has custody of Jason, until Terry turn 18 in a couple of months. Bruce is now Jason grandpa in this au and with tim and Barbara are his aunt's and uncles. ( I haven't decided if Jason becomes Terry Robin or not. It's your decision really. But hay at least the joker is already dead if he does)
-----------------------------
*bonus*
Tim: I always thought that Terry brother was going be his first robin. Not I owe dick 50 creds.
Barbara: you make a bet with your brother. Wait dick has never met Terry how does he know that he has a brother.
Tim: he's Nightwing duh
Barbara: of course he is ( facepalm)
Bruce:( is dialing someone)
Barbara: and who are you calling ?
Bruce : Wally West cause now I owe him 100 creds cause me and him make a bet if Terry was ever getting a Robin.
Barbara: ugh ( facepalm again.)

Thinking about my Batfamily Umbrella Academy Au again and just...
Dick who has the world's worst case of imposter syndrome, because is he really a fantastic acrobat, or is he just manipulating the gravity around himself? Without his powers would he even be able to walk along a balance beam? He'll never truly know.
Cass who can live in a moment for as long as she wants, who can take the time to analyze every single detail and judge her next move. Who can't do anything without analyzing, who freezes time on instinct before every action. She moves through time differently from everyone else, every day lasts five times longer.
Jason who can hit a bullseye from any distance, but knows it will never be enough to actually impress Bruce. With his power set, it's not impressive, it's just expected. It doesn't matter that he didn't use his powers, all that does is make his powers, and by extension himself, seem less useful.
Duke who doesn't trust his own eyes. He only believes in things he can physically touch, because what's to say he's not just making himself see what he wants to? If he can manipulate others perceptions on a whim, how easy must it be to manipulate his own?
Damian who's power is function-less in a fight, and so spent his life constantly training to try and compensate. Who spent so long training and honing his ability that now he struggles to talk with other people. And despite that sacrifice, still can't rise higher than Number Five because of the one thing outside of his control.
Tim who hesitates before he touches anything for the first time because he never knows what he might see. Who had to learn to keep his face natural no matter what he learns, better that than having to explain what he saw to someone who won't understand.
Stephanie who discovers she has powers, that maybe she's not actually the weak link and she can finally help her siblings, just to find out they think she's a villain. That even when they're all the same, she's still the outsider. They still don't believe in her.

Introducing Jason Todd-Wayne's daughter, Catherine Martha Wayne! And her illegal life 'cause I want it that way-
By the way, this Catherine I drew is VERY different from the Catherine I wrote, because it is not easy for me to draw a 4-year-old child. If I don't get bored, I will make Catherine bigger in the following chapters, so that the picture I draw will not go to waste ;( POOR MEE
• I've been wanting to write Jason Todd angst X BatFamily for a long time and I finally finished a long post that I couldn't delete and let go of!
I have to admit, my English isn't very good and I don't know how I'm doing, but DAMN IT IS UNDERSTANDING RİGHTT??
Anyway, I'm planning to write a fanfic for The owl house AU idea I have in mind in a few days, but I'll finish this baby first.
.. And guess who is going abroad for an erasmus project? YES IT IS ME !! FWCK

I'm seriously thinking of starting a "Bruce raises his children and they don't become vigilantes" AU but I'm starting to think to keep everyone else as it is bc the thought of this mostly normal family getting involve with the superheroes and villains alike is hilarious to me
Also, Tim (somehow) being friends with the rest of the core four on university and Tim being Tim (and bc 2 of them literally show their faces on costume) totally knows who they are but never says anything or questions his friends when they make horrible excuses (Kon) to leave class, etc. This makes his friends think he's really gullible and, yeah, hilarity happens
Ohhh, you know what? Bonus points if all the non-batkids have this competition of how many superheroes/villains' secret identities they get to solve

In my AU Titans is a network of teams: North, South East and West
Tumblr media
Here is a map showing the jurisdiction of each team.
The HQ for Titans North is in Detroit, Michigan and Starfire is the Leader for that team
Titans East HQ is Bludhaven, New Jersey with Nightwing as the leader
Titans South is based out of Dallas, Texas and Red Arrow, Roy Harper I is the leader there
Finally the HQ for Titans West is in Los Angeles, California with Raven as the Lead
They do their best to maintain each faction's district and put a stop to major crimes. They also lend a hand to any heros operating in there areas
There is only one Teen Titans team which is based out of Metropolis. Since the members are teens it's more of a weekend team/summer type of program. These teen are also mentored by their corresponding Titans faction during the year when they are at home

crack treated seriously hours tonight but: Benoit Blanc, who has a partner named Philip who is likely the one earning them enough money for the couple to live on, clarifies that he is “not Batman” when told he is the world’s greatest detective in Glass Onion. Batman, who in some continuities, has an Uncle Philip (sometimes Wayne, sometimes Kane). Please, someone give me Philip Kane and his partner Benoit Blanc spending time with the Waynes.

Real talk, in my opinion Damian Wayne should have totally been the undercover member of the regime in Injustice Gods Among Us. It would have been in line with the undercover work he’s done in cases like with Deathstroke, Streets of Gotham, and DC Vs Vampires, and he’s better trained for infiltration than Luthor.
I’m sorry, but I’m sick of Luthor redemption arcs or reskinned versions of the same goddamn dance with Superman he’s been doing since the beginning of time. Maybe I want the recovering child soldier to be a stealth hero instead of bald Elon Musk. And maybe I’m tired of the “father vs son” routine with Bruce and Damian, because that’s also unbelievably old and worn out.
Damian deserves a chance to redeem himself for Nightwing’s Very Stupid Death and use the opportunity to help his father’s resistance, because, Teen Titans bullshit aside, it makes sense for him to understand that some villains do deserve and can earn redemption. He deserves a chance to wear Dick Grayson’s uniform with real pride as he undoes all of Superman’s attempts to manipulate him by proving he’s been working behind the scenes, if not straight from the beginning, then for a while at least.
I want Damian to be smart enough to not be killed by Superman and walk away from the end of Injustice with a chance to recover. I want him to get a chance to forgive and be forgiven by all the members of his family, not just Dick. I want him to be able to direct his attention towards healing the world after controlling it for so long. I want him to get a chance to truly reconnect with Athanasia and help her recover. I want him to maybe even help Kara when she gets to earth, because he knows a thing or two about the weight of legacy. Basically, I want a lot of things that Injustice never had the sense to give us.

Conveniently Stephanie is canonically a good musician, which means in my Bat Academy Au I can just give her Viktor's power set instead of coming up with a new one.
The problem? She's a pianist. You can't epically walk around with a piano the way you can with a violin.
The solution?
The White Keytar.

Characters: Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Jason Todd Additional Tags: Whumptober 2023, Whump, Hurt/Comfort, Medical Torture, Experimentation, Alternate Universe - Merpeople, stick with me!!!, Good Parent Bruce Wayne, Protective Jason Todd, Protective Tim Drake, Hurt Dick Grayson, Protective Batfamily (DCU), Clark Kent & Bruce Wayne Friendship, Clark Kent & Dick Grayson Friendship Series: Part 23 of Whumptober 2023
But instead of continuing with explaining why Superman was urgently summoned to Gotham on a seemingly normal Thursday evening, Bruce stopped working on the computer, staring up at Clark with that scowling mask. He stood suddenly and pulled down his cowl, revealing the pain-filled eyes it hid.
Clark took an automatic step towards his friend. “Bruce–”
“I need you to swear it. Swear to me, Kal, that you will never mention this again. No one can know about this.”
No, this wasn’t anything remotely close to an ordinary mission. Bruce was scared and struggling to hide it. His heart rate might be forced into a steady rhythm through sheer willpower and meditative breathing but his eyes…they hadn’t been so open and vulnerable in a long time.
 Whumptober Day 30
EDIT: I was half asleep posting this and forgot to say this was hugely inspired by @sreppub and @spoilers-ahead au posts! Specific links on ao3 so I don’t spoil anything
“You can’t tell anyone about this.”
Clark swallowed his long suffering sigh and nodded instead. “I’ve always kept your secrets, Bruce.” As much as the constant secrecy and paranoia weighed on him at first, he was used to it now. Almost. Accepting that some things would always be locked behind a wall was simply part of being Bruce’s friend. Though over the years Clark did manage to weedle bits and pieces out of him.
“I swear it on Krypton. I won’t breathe a word.”
Satisfied at last, Bruce wearily sank back into his chair and pulled up a video. “I received this several hours ago. It’s a ransom demand.”
“For who?” The video was of a lab of some sort; tables and tubes and wires everywhere. In the center was a towering cylinder, filled with a clear liquid. And inside, thrashing wildly, was a person. No, a creature.
Clark sucked in a quick breath. “Is that…is that a mermaid?” Bruce didn’t respond, an angry glower sharpening his features as he watched. The mermaid–no, merman– was beating at the glass walls, twisting as gracefully as possible in the narrow space in search of an escape. A tail of magnificent shades of blue with an iridescent black stripe cutting down the back, churned in the water.
“It’s–”
“He.” Bruce snapped.
“He’s beautiful. But, again, who is–” The words died in Clark’s mouth as the mer violently twisted once more and a familiar face came into view. “Dick?” As if in response, Dick snarled and punched the glass, tail smacking angrily below him.
