"Pa de pessic" (pinch bread) is a typical Catalan dessert that doesn't require many ingredients but has an incredible taste (as if you were biting into a cloud!).
You can find the recipe (in Catalan and English) in her Instagram clicking the link.
Angel tried to make a cake with biscuit dough for David's birthday once. Asher, being the reliable best friend he is, offered to help, and the moment Baabe found out about this, they bought a biscuit roll and hid it in their freezer in case of an emergency.
When the day came and Ash and Angel met at their place to bake, it ended in a total disaster and Baabe had to come over to clean up before David came home. Naturally, they brought their previously bought biscuit roll along.
After he got home late after too long talks at a job, Ash and Angel were super sad that they didn't have a cake but Baabe then proceeded to present their pre-made freezer biscuit roll and pretended that Ash and Angel had made it all on their own.
David could taste that it was store-bought but didn't say anything and Baabe still uses this story to get favors out of Ash and Angel.
This is a doblegat de Quaresma, which in Catalan could roughly be translated to “Lent bended [pastry]”. It’s a crunchy puff pastry made with butter, perfumed with moscatell (sweet white wine) and orange juice, and filled with jam.
This pastry is an old tradition from Mallorca (Balearic Islands), where it was traditional to eat during Lent. It has lost popularity nowadays, but it’s still made. For example, the bakery Fornet de la Soca (who posted this video on their Instagram) have recuperated the old recipe.
I made it and it was surprisingly good, the only thing I didn’t add was ricotta cause I don’t personally like it and I also crumbled the sausage instead of doing slices-
I’m picky about my food so it says a lot that I did like it
