(The Bad Batch) How He Is with His Newborn Baby
Hunter: He adores them and spends a lot of time holding them. Hunter is also really big on the whole skin-to-skin contact, so it becomes a common thing to see him walking around shirtless with the baby cradled snugly in one arm. He gets pretty good at performing tasks around the home with the baby. He's enraptured by the little one, but also very attentive to your needs. Hunter makes sure you take the time you need to eat, shower, and just have time to relax every now and then. Literally, any excuse to hold them some more, and he's giving it. He is good at rocking the baby in such a way that they fall asleep instantly in his arms.
Wrecker: The baby has him wrapped around their tiny finger already. He's already telling them how much he loves them and how proud he is. Wrecker also just spends time telling them all the fun things they're going to do together when they're old enough to walk, talk, etc. He is so unbelievably gentle and sweet with the little one in general, and also of course with you. He'll randomly stare at you and tell you how beautiful you are and what a good job you're doing.
Tech: This baby is not at the point where they can retain any information yet, but Tech spends plenty of time just talking to them. He talks about anything his mind can conjure up. The baby becomes so accustomed to the sound of his voice that it has quite the soothing effect. Additionally, Tech is very quick to pick up on the baby's cycle of needs. It gets to the point where they cry, and he can glance at his chrono and pinpoint exactly what they need according to the little schedule he's created. He also regularly checks the baby's weight, vitals, to make sure they're in good health. From time to time he voices yet again how fascinating the miracle of birth is and how proud he is of you, also checking your health.
Echo: Spends the first few weeks only holding the baby when sitting down. He can't get over how fragile they are, and he just sits there and stares at them as long as he can in amazement and adoration before they wake up from their nap or fuss about something they need. When the baby bursts into a fit of wails, he goes into a bit of a panic mode worrying about what's wrong. Eventually, he gets more comfortable and gets used to the idea that the baby is just communicating a need. It doesn't take long for him to become a professional dad. He gets pretty organized with the diaper bag and supplies so that he can just pull out whatever the baby needs at the drop of a hat.
Crosshair: He spends a good while just quietly holding the baby in his arms and watching them. Internally, he thinks they're absolutely precious and realizes he loves them so much. He already knew he'd love them, but he didn't realize it would feel like this. The baby is heart-wrenchingly cute, and he'd do anything to protect them. You come to find that he becomes more vocal, telling the baby in a sort of Crosshair-style sarcasm that they need to get their act together every time he has to handle a diaper change, feeding, etc. He's up with you at any hour day or night to help with the baby without a complaint, and regularly makes sure you're taking care of yourself also.

Can I get a kiss?
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Hunter frequently kiss in secret. But, one day Omega walks in on you two. You and Hunter have to explain and it leads to an explanation of your love for Hunter and, how you love Omega.
Genre: Tooth rotting fluff, some angst
Warnings: Kissing, it’s a tear-jerker, Omega being literally the cutest 🥹
After long missions, it became a routine for you and Hunter to give each other a knowing look. That look only meant one thing. One question.
Kisses?
That’s all it took. You and Hunter would find each other, go to a secluded space in the ship and kiss.
Just feeling his lips on yours calmed your whole body. And for Hunter, just having you close and your scent enveloping his senses soothed his form.
The two of you looked forward to the end of missions, just so you could have an excuse to be close to one another.
Usually, you weren’t interrupted. I mean, there were one or two times when one of the batcher’s would walk in on you two, well making out, and then having to awkwardly exit.
Those were embarrassing and uncomfortable situations. But luckily it didn’t happen too often.
However, what you both were not ready for, was Omega to walk in on you two.
It was just like any regular, “secret one-on-one” in the cockpit of the Marauder.
Hunter whispered your name as he held you close. You breathed heavily as Hunter pushed you against the wall.
He grabbed your waist and trailed kisses down your neck. You moaned and grabbed Hunter’s hair roughly. Hunter leaned back and placed a soft kiss on your lips. He smiled, you grinned and giggled.
“You sure know how to drive a girl crazy,” you said as you wrapped her arms around Hunter’s neck. He chuckled.
“It’s kind of my speciality,” he winked. “But, only for you mesh’la, only for you.”
“Glad to hear that,” you smirked then leaned in.
Unbeknownst to the two of you, someone was curious as to where you were. And that someone decided to find out.
“Hey, Echo? Do you know where Hunter is? I haven’t seen him since we finished our mission,” Omega asked. Echo choked on his caf. He cleared his throat.
“Well, you, uh see,” Echo bit his lip. “He’s probably just, uh, you know discussing the next mission. Yeah, that's all.” He finished with a nervous smile. Omega arched a brow.
“Okay?” Omega was skeptical, but decided to let it go and figure out for herself where Hunter was, because she knew you’d probably be with him.
If you two were discussing a new mission, she’d want to know what it was and how she could help!
The first place she thought to look was the cockpit. She waltzed on up to it and the door slid open. She gasped. You and Hunter froze. Hunter cringed and turned around, you peered over him and both of your eyes widened.
Well, this was bound to happen. Omega tilted her head confused.
“What were you guys doing?” You both smiled nervously.
Both of you simultaneously stuttered a couple “oh, nothing” and “we weren’t doing anything” as Hunter backed away from you. You looked anywhere but at Omega and Hunter awkwardly rubbed a hand behind his neck. Omega was even more confused.
“Huh? But you were clearly doing something. That didn’t look like you ‘discussing’ our next mission,” Omega said with hand quotations. She crossed her arms in front of her. You facepalmed.
We’re screwed. Hunter looked at you, silently asking you, “What do we do?” You huffed and nodded your head.
“Well, you see, Omega,” you paused and motioned Omega to come forward. Omega obliged and sat in the pilot’s chair.
“Me and Hunter. We-we, love each other.” You smiled at Hunter and held his arm. Hunter grinned back and held your hand. Omega’s eyes widened a little, but she smiled after. You continued.
“And well, when people love each other,” you bit your lip. “I don’t know how to put this,” you chuckled. Hunter rubbed your back to comfort you.
“They kiss. There I said it.” Omega’s face was confused but she nodded along, starting to understand.
“Okay,” she pondered. “But, you say you love all of us, how come you don’t kiss the other guys.” Your eyes widened and you breathed a laugh. Hunter chuckled.
“Well, Omega. That’s a different type of love.” Omega gasped.
“Really? There’s different kinds of love?” You and Hunter nodded your heads.
“Yeah, we have a romantic type of love.” Hunter wrapped an arm around your waist. You looked at him then nodded at Omega.
“That’s right. The love I have for the other guy’s is different.” Omega was still confused.
“Different, how?”
“Well, I love the other guys; Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Crosshair, in more of a brotherly type of way. I see them more as family.” Omega nodded along, then her face lit up in understanding.
“Oooh, that makes sense!” You and Hunter smiled at her. Omega giggled. Then, her eyes furrowed.
“Well, then. What about me? You say you love me all the time. Is it in a sisterly way?” Omega asked, pointing to herself.
You gave her a warm smile then kneeled down by the chair she was sitting at. You placed your hands on Omega’s arms gently. Omega looked down at you curiously.
“Omega, even the way I love you is different too.” You smiled.
“Really?” Omega asked, eager to know. You nodded your head.
“Yes,” You glanced at Hunter. He nodded his head. You looked back at Omega.
“The way I love you,” You paused and smiled. “…is more like a daughter.”
Omega gasped and beamed. She jumped off of the chair and into your arms. You were shocked but quickly wrapped your arms around Omega. Omega leaned back and looked at you, tears brimming her eyes.
“And the way I love you, is like a Mom.” You gasped and smiled as tears fell down your face. Hunter smiled warmly and kneeled beside the two of you. Omega grinned and pulled Hunter in for a group hug.
“And I love you like a Dad, Hunter.” Omega beamed. Hunter chuckled and ruffled her hair. Omega giggled and you laughed as she sniffed.
Omega stood up and held her hands out for Hunter and Y/N. You both looked at each other and smiled. You both took her hands and stood up.
“I just have one question,” Omega asked cheekily. Hunter raised a brow.
“Can I get a kiss?” You laughed out loud.
“What?” Hunter chuckled. Omega only shrugged.
“If you love me, you give me kisses right?” You giggled and shook your head. Omega slumped.
“Wha-what? I thought you said that’s how it works!” You stopped laughing and frowned.
“Omega, it’s different,” You gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “Me and Hunter, we love each other romantically. Only people who love each other like that kiss.” Omega nodded her head.
“Okay,” her eyebrows furrowed. “But, I saw you kiss the other guys.” Hunter’s eyes widened. You immediately shook your head.
“Again, that’s different. I didn’t kiss them on the lips.” Hunter’s face changed to understanding.
“Huh?” Omega was still confused.
“Okay, I kiss Hunter on the lips, because that’s what you do when you love someone romantically. I’ll kiss the other guys’ foreheads or cheeks, as more of a familial type of way. You understand?” Omega grinned and nodded her head.
“Yeah! It all makes sense!” You and Hunter smiled.
“So, you know why we kiss now, right?” Hunter asked with a raised brow. Omega nodded her head vigorously.
“Yep, it’s because you love each other, romantically,” Omega wriggled her eyebrows playfully. You and Hunter laughed. Omega smiled sadly.
“Does that still mean I don’t get a kiss?” Omega pouted. You smiled.
“Well, I don’t see why not.” Omega’s face lightened up. You and Hunter laughed again. You leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on Omega’s forehead. Omega beamed. She turned to Hunter and smiled cheekily. He chuckled.
“Oh, alright.” Hunter leaned forward and placed a kiss on Omega’s forehead as well. Omega was practically grinning from ear to ear.
“Thanks you guys!” Omega skipped out of the cockpit giddily. Hunter chuckled and turned to you.
“Well, that was eventful, wasn’t it?” You sighed.
“Yep, who knew parenting would be so hard.” Hunter breathed a laugh then pulled you close. He enveloped you in a warm hug. You stayed like that for a few seconds. Relishing in each other's warmth.
“You know, seeing Omega so happy,” You leaned back. “It just makes my whole world. She’s a really good kid.” You smiled, thinking about her.
Hunter held your cheek. He hummed.
“Seeing you and her together,” he paused. “That makes my whole world.” You beamed. Hunter leaned in and placed a chaste kiss on your lips. One filled with passion, love and happiness.
You smiled but heard giggling. You pulled away and raised a brow. Hunter’s face turned confused, then his nose scrunched up.
“Omega!” He shouted, then Omega screamed and ran away. Hunter playfully growled and chased her. You watched fondly, chuckling to yourself.

Tumblr media
The sun streaming through the windows did little to fight against the coldness he felt, he knew the room was warm, he knew the cold he felt deep in his bones wasn’t there and yet he couldn’t fight the shivers that wracked his body. It didn’t matter that he could see the small room his brother’s had shown him to once they landed on the planet, in his mind he was still there, still in that cold, small cell with no hope of escaping.
He’d been there for so long, long enough that he had lost track of the days. He could have planned an escape, could have made some attempt to leave their torture but what for? There was nothing waiting for him outside of his cell anymore.
Gone was his relationship with his brothers, gone was the easy back and forth banter with Wrecker, gone were the late night talks with Hunter, gone were the days him and Tech would sit together, his brother’s voice filling the silence without expecting anything back from Crosshair, gone was Echo’s steady presence, at his side whenever he needed it.
Gone were you.
Gone were the early mornings when the rest of his brothers were still asleep, only you and Crosshair awake in the cockpit holding a warm cup of caff and filling the space with softly spoken conversation. Gone were the days spent trying to stick by your side, gone were the stolen glances and lingering touches, gone was sneaking away after missions to explore together, gone were the chances he took to watch you smile, gone was the promise he’d tell you how he felt tomorrow.
Crosshair had run out of tomorrow’s a long time ago.
After all he had done, all the pain he had put his brothers through, the pain he had put you through, this was the least he deserved.
And so when the chance came to make his escape, to leave the pain and the torture behind he hesitated. The cell door was open, it would be so easy to leave and yet he hesitated.
If the kid hadn’t been there, if her life didn’t depend on him getting her out he knows he would have stayed where he was, he would have rotted in that cell for as long as they decided he was useful alive.
Now he was free and somehow he felt more confined than ever. It wasn’t just because Hunter wouldn’t take his eyes off him, it wasn’t because Wrecker hovered or the fact Omega had seemed to attach herself to him. It didn’t even have anything to do with the fact that you were here, stars above Crosshair couldn’t think of a time he would ever have ignored your presence and yet now he did everything to stay away from you, not able to face you yet.
No, it wasn’t because of you or his brothers that Crosshair felt confined. It was because he didn’t deserve this freedom, in his head he was still in the cold cell, destined to rot away.
Crosshair stood from the floor, unable to lay there any longer. The room had a bed tucked against the wall but Crosshair had only managed about ten minutes of tossing and turning on it before he gave the bed up for the floor, the bed too soft compared to what he had become used to.
Everyone else was still asleep as he made his way outside, no real destination in mind. His feet carried him through side streets until they grew sore and only then did he make his way back, stopping not too far away from where the others were to sit on the sand, the sun shining blindingly on the water.
He didn’t deserve to be here.
“I used to come here.” A voice interrupted him some time later, a voice he recognised all too well. “It’s quiet, no one ever comes here.”
Crosshair didn’t turn to look at you, he couldn’t bring himself to do it but when you sat next to him it was too much. He went to stand but your hand softly grabbing his stopped him.
“Please stop running away.” You pleaded softly and Crosshair didn’t have to look at you to know your eyes were teary but he did anyway, his heart aching for having made you this way.
“I can’t do this.” He told you quietly, forcing his gaze away from yours and looking back out at the water.
“I don’t know what happened to you,” You said after a moment's silence and Crosshair balled his hand into a fist, silently begging you to stop talking. “I don’t know what they did to you and you don’t have to tell me but-”
“But nothing.” He spat angrily, glaring at the sea and instantly hating himself for lashing out at you, so he tried again, softer this time. “But nothing. What they did to me was nothing less than I deserved.”
“Don’t say that.” You said, head shaking as you tried to compose yourself.
“It’s the truth, I tried to kill you, kill my brothers…I hurt you all and for what? For the Empire to throw my loyalty in my face.” Crosshair shrugged.
“For what it’s worth, I never gave up on you.” You told Crosshair, looking away from him as you spoke. “It didn’t matter what you did, how far you strayed from us, I never gave up on you.”
“You should have.” He muttered. “Everyone else did, Hunter doesn’t trust me, Wrecker wants to but he knows I’m nothing more than a lost cause.”
“That’s not true. Hunter’s just being Hunter, he needs time to adjust, needs time to figure things out in his head and then he’ll want to talk to you. Yeah you’re both gonna throw out words you don’t mean, maybe a punch or two but after that…it’s Hunter, he’s glad you’re back. As for Wrecker he wants to come to you, you know that as much as I do but he’s scared, he doesn’t want to spook you so he’s waiting for you to make the first move.” You explained, keeping your voice soft, not turning to face Crosshair as he turned to look at you.
“What about you?” He finally asked, voice barely above a whisper.
“I was with Wrecker. I kept my distance and waited to see what your move was. Turns out your move was to avoid everyone.” You laughed and Crosshair felt himself relax a little, the sound one he hadn't heard in so long and it somehow managed to push out some of the cold he felt. “I feel for you, Cross, I do. Stars only know what the Empire did to you but you’re free now, don’t let them win, don’t shut us out.”
“I never wanted anyone to feel bad for me, especially not you.” Crosshair said after a long pause of silence and you laughed again.
“We all feel bad for you, despite everything you’re one of us.” You told him so sincerely that Crosshair felt like he’d been punched in the stomach at the speed his breath was stolen from him.
You turned to face him, a small smile on your face and you hesitated for only a moment before you reached out and took his hand in yours, entwining your fingers together.
“I don’t deserve any of this,” Crosshair forced out and you smiled at him softly. “I don’t deserve you, you should be running away from me, leave me behind and move on.”
“Well, I’m sorry but I fell in love with you, okay?” You told him, watching as his eyes widened in complete disbelief. “It happened and I can’t do anything about it.”
“You…what?” Crosshair choked, for so long he had dreamed of you and him, of a life where you could possibly want him but it was such a far off dream, something that would never become a reality and now you were saying the words he had longed to hear for years.
“You’re stuck with me, Cross, I’m not going anywhere, I’m not running away. You’re it for me, always have been.” You said, laughing as a tear or two managed to slip down your cheek and Crosshair only second guessed himself for a moment before his hand cupped your cheek and he softly brushed the tears away, his thumb caressing your cheek bone.
“I don’t deserve you.” He repeated and you smiled brightly at him. “But I will spend the rest of my life trying.”
“I love you.” You told him again, watching as his eyes became watery and he rested his forehead against yours.
“I love you too, so much.” He choked out and you couldn’t stop yourself from closing the small distance between the two of you, Crosshair not hesitating to meet you in the middle.
Crosshair’s hand on your cheek moved to your hair, pulling you impossibly closer as he kissed you, savouring every second of the feeling, something he had longed for and convinced himself he could never have.
Eventually the two of you needed to pull apart for air, breathing heavily but not going far from each other, foreheads together as you both smiled at the other.
For the first time in so long Crosshair didn’t feel a single bit of cold, his body was warm, his heart racing as he held you close. For the first time in a long time Crosshair didn’t feel numb, he didn’t feel pain or fear.
It felt like he was finally off that awful planet, it felt like he had finally left his cold cell behind and stepped into the daylight, able to feel the sun of Pabu for the first time and it was because of you, you were the source of this warmth, this love, this joy, this overwhelming relief that things would be better.
For the first time in a very long time Crosshair felt like things would be okay, he had you, he swore he’d make amends with his brothers, spend the rest of his life making up for everything, spend the rest of his life proving he was worthy of yours and his brother’s love. It felt easier, it felt doable with you at his side once again.

Imagine being unable to sleep, upset by Echo's departure, and turning to Tech for comfort
The ship was stuffy. Your mind was full. The future was uncertain. It was the perfect mixture of reasons to be restless.
You'd removed the top half of your blacks and tied it around your waist, putting on a tank top in hopes of cooling down. Sitting on the lowered ramp of The Marauder, you stared into the misty night sky, feeling trapped by the stale silence. Your eyes began to sting, emotions starting to overcome you. How could so much have changed so quickly?
The sound of footsteps pulled you from your troubled thoughts, and you didn't have to turn around to know who approached. The rapid tapping of gloved fingers on a datapad was enough for you to recognize him.
"You are unable to sleep," Tech says.
It wasn't a question. He'd just stated it as a fact, as he did with most things.
"Not really," you answer, quickly wiping at your eyes.
"I suspect there is a reason," he begins, sitting down beside you, "Would it ease your mind if you shared your concerns with me?"
Your heart skipped at the prospect, and at how near he was.
"I'll be alright, really," you hesitate, trying to compose yourself.
"The tension in your voice and your constrained body language suggests otherwise," he replies, putting away his datapad.
You can't help but chuckle, "Nothing gets past you, does it?"
"Not really," he parrots your words. He removes his helmet and puts it aside. You're surprised to see he's smiling ever-so-slightly.
You sigh, trying put your many thoughts into words. "We've all lost so much. After all our fighting and all our running, sometimes I've wondered what it was all for. But I thought as long as we stayed together, things would be alright. We would figure it out because together we had hope. Now, I'm afraid that we've lost it."
Tech pushes up his goggles before responding.
"I know it may seem that way, but Echo did not leave because he had no hope," he offers, "He believes that there are better ways apart from this squad that he can help preserve hope, and if he is successful, pass it on to others."
"I thought we were already doing that," you reply, shaking your head, "I know we have to be careful, especially for Omega's sake, and we can't fight The Empire the same way others can, but I thought we were making some kind of difference."
"Echo's departure does not necessarily signify failure in our pursuits."
"But aren't we stronger together than apart?" you ask, looking to him.
Tech blinks slowly, visibly weighing your question. Surely he is bothered by all this too?
"Theoretically, yes. But our objections cannot change what has happened," he admits.
Your gaze falls back to your boots, shame setting in. How selfish you must sound. "You're right. I don't think less of Echo. Truly I don't," you say, holding your arms, "I just don't want to lose this squad, and I really don't want to lose..."
You were desperate to say it, but the word caught in your throat. Tears threaten to return. This is not how it was supposed to go. Squeezing your eyes shut, you bow your head, hoping he wouldn't see your entire façade crumbling.
You nearly jump as you feel his hand gently clasp your shoulder. You look up to see his soft brown eyes, full of warmth and understanding.
"I do not have plans to go any place where you cannot also be," he affirms, "And I intend to never make such plans."
A tear slips down your cheek as you choke back a sob. Whatever was left of your composure, he'd just destroyed it, and somehow it was the push you needed.
You lean over to rest your head on his chest. You hold your breath as you feel him tense up at the contact. Fear washes over you that you've gone too far, and you're about to sit up, but then he carefully wraps his arm around you, holding you close.
You purse your lips, trying not to grin. How long you had waited for this moment. Heart racing, you close your eyes and wish for time to stop. So many words had passed between you over the months, but now you could barely speak.
"Tech?" you breathe.
"Yes?"
"I never want to make those kinds of plans either," you say, relaxing into him more.
"It's settled then," he confirms, proceeding to rest his chin upon the top of your head.
It was settled. You knew with absolute certainty that this is where you wanted to be. You were stronger together, and no matter what became of the galaxy, together you and Tech would stay.

giving them a surprise hug | the bad batch
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: pics not mine! this was genuinely relaxing to write! i’m so sorry this is late- i had such bad writers block and i didn’t want to post anything that i'm not proud of. nonnie, i hope this meets what you wanted and of course, thank you for requesting 🫶🏼🥰
crosshair
the shock! the surprise! he didn't expect you, of all people, to come up and suddenly hug him. it's all very welcome though since he absolutely adores you, but you don't know that. his crush on you is just amplified when you make moves on him.
"get off me. do you have glue on your arms or something?"
“no. you’re stuck with me,” you defiantly replied, “whether you like it or not.”
“well…uh. you’re welcome to stay in my arms,” he softy mumbles.
later in the day, he ends up spilling to you that he’s liked you since you first insulted him. he’s just glad you’re as crazy about him as he is about you.
tech
he doesn’t know how to respond when you come behind him and hug him. he definitely knows that his heart beats faster with you around but he’d rather keep that to himself. he's so in love with you and he's such a softie.
“may i ask why you are hugging me?”
“i like you, tech.”
oh. OH. his brain stops functioning a little after hearing before asking, “did i hear that right?”
he smiles softly to himself as he whispers back, "i like you too, darling." you don't know yet, but he's already daydreaming about the moments you'll share together as a couple.
echo
echo thinks you're so cute when you ran in front of him to give him a massive hug. but somehow, your hugs always last a little longer each time. he knows you have a crush on him, and he knows his feelings toward you.
"you're comfy."
"oh? does that make me your new pillow then?" he teased.
"perhaps..." you muse.
his eyes soften upon realizing that you'd be his forever, quietly whispering, "i think i love you."
"did you say something, echo?"
he smiles at you in response, no words are needed for his feelings anymore.
wrecker
as someone who likes both you and physical affection, wrecker is so happy about the hug. he's not shocked either about you coming to his side and hugging him. in fact, he appreciated your hug as he had just finished a mission that involved high-stress levels and heights.
“just what i needed.”
“what?” you inquire, “a hug? or you mean- my hug?”
"well- i mean, your hugs do feel nice but i prefer your hugs."
you glance up at him, smiling softly as you admire how pretty his eyes are. he knows you're staring, and he knows that you're definitely his future. you make him feel at home, truly loved and that's a bonus in his eyes.
hunter
he’s always admired you from afar. due to his heightened senses, he wasn’t too shocked about you sneaking up behind him, wrapping your arms around his chest. he relished the moments with you, as life seemed to slow down when he was with you.
“oh? what’s this?”
“just a hug for my favorite person,” you giggle, “you’re warm.”
"my waist is free real estate..uh if you'd like another hug?" he states slowly, scratching the back of his neck, not knowing what to do with his hands now that they aren't around you.
you end up confessing your crushes to each other at the same time.
a/n: hi! this is later than i would've preferred to post this, but late is better than never :) i really loved writing the dialogue for this and i was inspired by the kdramas i'm currently invested in! i hope you enjoy and thanks for reading 🫶🏼

Crosshair x medic reader
A trip to the Outpost along with a clone who refuses to tell you his name… What’s the worst that can happen?
Angst / Fluffish
Pt 1 of Sunrise
“Hello.” I said to the tall man with an infamous scowl and toothpick in hand, followed by my name.
He didn’t return the sentiment, choosing to acknowledge me with a tilt of his head.
“Did they say where we are going?” I asked.
“Not yet.” He said simply.
I tugged on the strap of my medical bag, “It must be important if they wanted me along.”
He glanced at me, “You’re new right?”
I nodded, “Yes sir.”
“Don’t do anything stupid and you’ll live.” He stated before looking towards a group of soldiers and an officer coming our way.
“Thanks…” I spoke dryly, “For the pep talk.”
“Anytime sweetheart.” He replied.
“I’m not your-”
“CT-9904. You are out of uniform.”
My back straightened up as I saluted the lieutenant while the clone trooper put on his helmet.
“I am lieutenant Nolan. Your support officer for this mission.” He said to the clone trooper before his gaze flickered to mine, “And who are you?”
“I am a medic sir. Here to help save as many lives as I can.”
“You only need to worry about mine.” He said.
“But sir, the soldiers-“
“They are only clones.” Nolan spat.
“They are people.” I squared up my shoulders, “And they deserve help too.”
“I should have you fired.” He said with a dark look in his eyes.
“Speak with the general. He’s the one who personally assigned me to this mission.” I stated, “…Sir.”
His glare hardened as he sized me up before scoffing, “We will be head to a remote outpost to transfer container shipments.”
With that lieutenant Nolan walked up the ramp.
“Why did you do that?” The soldier with the snarky attitude asked.
“Because clones are people too and not only that, you have fought to protect countless lives. Your lives are just as important as anyone else’s. Someone needs to make sure you get the respect you deserve.” I stated as I made my way up the ramp, “I like you better without the helmet by the way.” I teased before heading inside.
I heard a faint chuckle before his footsteps followed after mine.
The flight to the Outpost was fine so long as the lieutenant stayed at the front of the ship… I felt bad for the pilots, but the clones back here made nice conversation.
“What was the funniest thing you experienced during the clone wars?” I asked the trooper known as Hex.
“That would be when Short-fuse ate this meal from an outer rim planet we were stationed at. He swore his mouth was burning for weeks from how spicy the dish was.” Hex chuckled before his laughter dimmed, “He was a good soldier and brother.”
“I am sure he was.” I gave him a comforting smile.
When we landed on the outpost planet, the snow was nearly blinding from the sun as the hanger door veered open. Nolan shoved his way past us to get ahead, only for him to slip on the ramp.
Pack tried to help him out only for the most disgusting noise I have ever heard to come out of the lieutenant’s mouth. I glared in his direction as I placed my hand on Pack’s arm.
“Don’t worry about it.” I said to him, “He’s just a loth cat from hell.”
This brought a laugh from Pack before he went off to survey the area. I immediately found my way to the only clone with black armor and a really big rifle.
“Loth cat from hell Huh?” I could hear the grin in his voice.
I leaned closer to him whispering, “I would call him worse, but that would only make me as bad as him.”
“Hurry up!” Lieutenant Nolan called for us impatiently.
“See? You can here the hissing screech from a mile away.” I joked as we caught up.
“Glad to see we weren’t forgotten.” A trooper with long hair and a beard spoke up, “I’m Commander Mayday.
“It’s nice to meet you Commander.” I said with a greeting of my own name.
Two other clone troopers sat by the portable heater trying to keep themselves warm.
“It’s nice to meet you both as well, but what do you mean by forgotten?” I asked, my brows furrowing, “Surely the empire has been supporting this outpost?”
“No. We’ve been here for over a year with no support.” Mayday stated.
Nolan scoffed, “Well the empire has more important things that need to be done then worry about you clones.”
“I’m so sorry you were left out here like this.” I breathed out my eyes falling to the helmets lined alone the crate, “And your men… They are…”
“All dead, except for us.” Mayfield confirmed.
“My deepest condolences.” I offered him a small smile.
“Thank you.” He nodded.
“It’s what they were made to do.” Nolan rolled his eyes.
“No it wasn’t.” I glared at him.
He returned it just as heavily before he walked away, “Start getting everything squared away. We’re shipping these crates now.”
“What killed them?” The sniper clones voice rang out through the room.
“Raiders mostly. Weather and whatever creatures reside here.” Mayday explained, “Come on, I’ll show you around.” He nodded his head at me, “You can come too.”
The cold chilled through my bones the moment we stepped outside.
“As harsh as this planet is, the view is quiet beautiful.” I spoke as we looked around.
“Trying looking at it for over a year with things trying to kill you.” Mayday joked dryly.
“Ah.” I chuckled, “Yeah I’d probably hate it too.”
“Where have they been coming in at?” Crosshair asked as he surveyed the area.
“The ridge over there, but don’t go out there on your own, it’s too dangerous.” Mayday explained as he watched the trooper look around.
“I’m sorry you and your men have had to go through with this. I thought the empire would be more considerate…” I sighed.
“Seems like the empire is only considerate when it benefits them.” Mayday stated.
Before I could respond a blast sounded through the base.
“The raiders?” I asked in fear.
“Yeah.” Mayday confirmed.
We quickly took off in the direction of the blast.
“I’ll go left and you two go right! We’ll cute them off!” Mayday ordered.
I quickly followed behind the tall clone, wondering where he could be heading.
“What are doing?” I asked as he ran away from the blast.
“I need a vantage point.” He snipped, taking two steps at a time practically leaping up the tower.
I was less agile and it took me a moment longer to reach him. I found him already looking through his scope, searching for his target. I stood beside him, squinting to see any movement of someone possibly injured.
I could feel it before it happened, turning to the clone to warn him, “Watch-”
The blast came before I could finish my sentence, hearing him hiss in pain shot worry through my chest as he rubbed at his eyes. Still, he pulled himself together to wound one of the raiders trying to escape.
“Hey, hey wait!” I called out to him as he went to chase after the raider.
“What?” He sneered.
“I need to check yours eyes. You’re hurt-” I tried to grab his arm, but he was to quick, bounding down the steps.
“Go help someone else!” He called as he chased after the escaped raider.
I cursed as I ran down the steps, “That man.” I muttered, making my way towards the blast to see if anyone needed help.
“Is there anything I can do?” I asked once I spotted Mayfield.
He shook his head solemnly, “My men are dead.”
My breathe stopped, “Oh. I’m so sorry…”
He only shook his head, smiling grimly, “It’s what we do.”
“You are all worth more than this. I hope you know that…” I looked in the direction the clone trooper went, “I hope he knows that.”
“He went after them alone didn’t he?” Mayfield sighed.
I nodded, “He did.”
“I’ll go get him. You should get inside.” He suggested.
I nodded, not wanting to burden him with anymore struggle today, “Drag him in if you have too. I can see he is very stubborn.” I sighed, “I’ll see you both inside.”
I could tell from how stressed the troopers we flew in with were after the explosion and now having to deal with the uptight luitenant.
“Where have you been?!” Nolan ce yelled at me the moment I entered the facility.
I almost mocked the way he looked frazzled, his blonde hair out of place.
“I was aiding Commander Mayday and a clone trooper, sir.” I answered.
It was abrupt the way he took quick strides towards me, grabbing my arm with brute strength. I flinched at the pain, knowing that bruises would welt in place of his fingers soon enough.
“You aid me! Not these lowlife insufferable clones! That is an order, do you hear me?!” He spat in my face.
A dark figure found itself in my peripheral, “I think everyone heard you. Sir.” The clone hissed in disapproval, toothpick in his mouth.
Nolan huffed, shoving me hard into a crate, “They stole from us! I need you clones to go retrieve them now!”
“I have no men sir. They were both killed in the blast.” Mayday stated, “Some thing that extreme would require a lot of men. I request taking a some of your men out there if you want the crates retrieved.”
“No!” Nolan glared before pointing at the two soldiers, “You both go get them. That’s an order.” He spat on the ground before leaving.
Mayday rolled his eyes at the sheer disrespect coming from the newbie.
“Hey stranger…” I pushed myself away from the crates and opening my bag, “I need to take a look at your eyes to make sure no damage was taken earlier.”
“I’m fine.” He huffed while crossing his arms.
“I know you are, but as a medic it would put me at ease to double check. It won’t hurt right?” I asked holding the equipment I needed.
He nodded stiffly before making himself comfortable on a crate. I was internally grateful because it would make this a lot easier with his height.
“Thank you.” I whispered as I stood between his legs.
“I’ll get some gear and wait outside.” Mayday said as he left.
I gently grasped his chin, “If you could tilt your head up just so… Perfect.”
It was quiet while I checked his eyes, thankfully finding no long term damage.
“Are you… Alright?” The softness in his voice almost sounded foreign.
“Me?” I took a moment to take in his face, “I’m alright, it’s nothing I can’t handle.”
“You’ve had that happen to you before?” He asked.
I nodded, “Some officers tend to feel the need to assert their dominance. To strengthen you for the empire they would say.” I chuckled dryly.
“Your eyes look perfect.” I said as I took a step back.
He nodded once giving me a hum instead of a thank you.
“Just make it back alive okay? I don’t think I can handle another plane ride with that idiot if you’re not there.” I joked.
“Hm.” He stood up and grabbed his rifle, “We’ll see.”
I stepped in front of him before he could walk out the door, “Can I at least know your name now?”
A small smirk grazed his lips, something that I would love to spend my days staring at. I was disappointed when he put his helmet back on, something that he noticed quickly.
“No.” He stated simply before he walked out, “Try not to die.”
I huffed in annoyance as I went to put the equipment away. I knew that all I had to do was look at his file, but where would be the fun in that?
The day went by mundane, soon falling into night. The temperature only became colder and my worry for the safety of the two men increased.
“Sir.” I acknowledged the lieutenant who looked too cozy by the heater, a hot plate of food in hand.
“What is it?” He asked annoyed.
I stood a ways from him, hands clasped behind me as the glow of the heat barely reaching my skin, “The commander and soldier have been gone for too long. I suggest we send a search party to retrieve them.”
He raised an eyebrow, “You suggest?” He slowly set his plate down on one of the crates, “Tell me medic.” He said my title like it was humorous to him, “In what system does a medic outrank a lieutenant officer?”
I took a step forward, “When lives are in danger sir.” I spat.
“You obey me!” He yelled standing up.
“I obey my oath!” I matched his tone, “And right now those men, your men could lying in the snow somewhere bleeding to death!”
“Then so be it!” He waved his hand, “I don’t care about outdated clones!”
“Then you aren’t worthy of your title.” I glared before walking out the door.
The last thing I needed was a bullet through my head from his short temper. I needed to be smart about this.
It’s too dark out to travel now. No use for me to get lost or hurt out there. I think daybreak should do it, I can pack some supplies and head out in the direction they went. First I needed a map of the area.
“Hey Pack?” I called out to the trooper on watch.
He turned to me, “Yes?”
“Can you send me a layout of the planet to my holo pad please?” I asked.
“Of course?” He said unsure, “Why would you need a map? If you don’t mind me asking that is.”
“Sightseeing.” I answered with a chuckle and he returned it, not wanting to push any further.
“You’ll receive it shortly.” He answered.
“Thank you Pack, have a nice night.” I waved goodbye to him before heading towards my sleeping quarters.
“You as well medic!” He called back.
There was only one thought in my mind as I packed for my journey and went to bed.
Don’t worry, I’ll find you.
Trying to sneak out of camp was trickier than usual, but not impossible. It was a window of moving shipments that weren’t labeled correctly that allowed for my escape under the Lieutenants nose.
“I’ll start with a small perimeter in the direction they went and go from there.” I mumbled to myself as I walked on, “Hopefully they just made camp for the night and are heading back.”
The cold nipped through my clothes and onto my skin as I spent hours traveling through the snow. My feet felt numb, but I carried on for their sakes and for my own peace of mind.
“Where are they.” I groaned as I tapped on my holopad to readjust the coordinates.
Suddenly a red beeping on the screen signaled a storm heading my way.
“Dank ferrik.” I cursed as I looked for shelter.
The wind began to pick up as flakes of snow coated my lashes. In my panic to get out of the storm, I failed to miss the shadow creeping up behind me and the blunt of a gun hitting the side of my head.
“Wake up.” A posh voice followed by a kick to my gut had me rolling over in pain.
My eyes fluttered open to find a blurry figure slowly shifting into the body of the Lieutenant.
“How dare you disobey orders.” He scoffed, “I should have you courtmartialed for this.”
I closed my eyes at the prospect of being behind bars or worse… Suffering the fate of being decommissioned.
“You are lucky the commander favors you.” He sneers and I let out a breath of relief.
I shouldn’t have for he was not finished.
“But he’s not here to defend you. If a small accident would occur resulting in the fate of your death, that would not be dismissible.” His smile was as wicked as his heart.
My heart began to race as I watched him reach for his blaster.
“Lieutenant.” A breathless clone entered the room, “The two soldiers… They have returned.”
“Do they complete their assignment?” He asked with mild annoyance to being disrupted.
“No sir. It seems the commander was hurt.” The clone answered.
“Hm… It seems i have two examples I must take care of.” He glanced at me, grabbing my handcuffs and yanking me towards the door, “Follow.”
It was colder without my coat as the lieutenant dragged me behind him. My heart hasn’t stopped racing as we stumbled to the sniper and commander. The site in front of me showed that the two were no better off than I was, worse even.
“Look at this pathetic failure medic. You risked your life to go save them and yet here they are, without my crates.” The lieutenant rolled his eyes.
“Mayday is hurt.” I rasped out trying to get to the two soldiers, yet his grip never faltered on my cuffs.
“Help him.” The sniper rasped out as he took in deep breaths.
“No.” The lieutenant stated simply.
“Please.” I pleaded, “Let me help him.”
“That would be a waste of supplies. He is expendable just like the other clones.” He leaned in to say mockingly, “Besides I’d enjoy watching you suffer before I end your pathetic life, medic.”
Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched my new friend take his last breath being able to do nothing, but struggle fruitlessly.
“Let me go!” Every bone in my body shook in shame when I couldn’t do the only purpose I held in my life… To save others.
“I’m sorry.” I sobbed, “I’m so sorry.”
“Next time I would think twice about disobeying orders.” He spat.
“You could have saved him.” Crosshair all, but growled as he knelt beside his comrade.
“He was expendable as are you and as is she. Now get back to work clone.” The Lieutenant ordered as he dragged me behind him, “And now I’ll be dealing with you.”
My eyes widened knowing the meaning behind his words, “No… No, no please.”
I tugged on my hand only to be met with his fist against my cheekbone. The stinging left my vision blurry as I tried to steady myself. I didn’t hear the sniper slowly stand up, his gun raised in anger as he glared towards the monster of the empire.
“Lieutenant.” The sniper growled.
The lieutenant sighed in annoyance as he turned around, “What is it?”
His eyebrows raised at the sight of the gun and he was quick to pull me in front of him, his arm locked around my neck.
“I wouldn’t do anything foolish if I were you clone.” The lieutenant sneered, “You shoot me and I take her down as well.”
“Hm.” He hummed, “You shouldn’t underestimate a clone.” Was all he said before his aim shot through the Lieutenants head before he could even blink.
Two bodies fell in that moment and I was quick to rush to the troopers side. His breathing had slowed as he stared up at the sky.
“You’ll be okay.” I whispered to him, the tears blurring my vision, “I am grateful to you.”
“Crosshair.” He breathed out.
My brows furrowed in confusion, “What?”
“My name…” His eyes began to close, “Is Crosshair.”
My sob came out as a choked laugh as guards began to surround us.
“It’s nice to meet you, Crosshair.” I spoke softly.
I prayed to the force in that moment that it wouldn’t be the end for us.
Please… Let us live.

Hollow — Tech x GN!Reader Batcher
Tumblr media
Description: Tech x GN!Reader Batcher, established relationship; POV is 1st person so there's no use of gendered pronouns (: Warnings: Angst, major character death, grief, very vague allusion to suicidal thoughts and self-destructive tendencies Word Count: 916
A/N: This is the first time I've really written any fandom content since high school. Or at least, with the intention of letting others read it. Tried to balance the mix of recounting the past while also shifting to how reader/oc is in the present which can be tricky so I hope it reads well.

Everything happened so fast.
It was like any other mission gone bad — shots from grounded enemies, shots from the sky, and having to problem-solve on the fly amidst the chaos. Then… it was very different.
There was a violent shake as the rail cars were hit and then I was looking down at my husband hanging far below the car. Momentarily, all sound became an indistinguishable noise, garbled voices of distress mixed with ringing and roaring in my ears, as you struggled to climb up to the car.
As I moved to help you, the car creaked and, snapping back to reality, I heard you shout up, “Whoa! Don't! Any shift in weight could send both of these cars over. You must sever the connection hinge. Now!” Wrecker and I immediately exclaimed our rejection of that idea. I could feel my panic rising, my desperation increasing. There must be something. There HAS to be something. Anything to fix this mess and save you.
Your next words, spoken so calmly and matter-of-fact, slammed into me. “There is no time, cyare. Plan 99.” “Don’t. You. Dare, Tech.” My voice cracked on your name. Gently, desperately, I repeated my words, punctuating them with “please”. Your eyes locked with mine — soft, sad, and full of love. “I love you, cyar’ika, but when have we ever followed orders?”
When you shot the connection and began to fall, a deafening scream ripped out of me. “NO!” My body automatically lunged for the side with my hand outstretched before Wrecker grabbed me and held me firmly. Thrashing to escape his grasp as the car began to move, I screamed, “TECH! No! No no no! Go back!”
As the car got further and further away, the shock of the situation overtook me — numb, unseeing, unmoving with that same mix of indistinguishable sounds in my ears. My body went into a survival autopilot – moving as prompted but I wasn’t there – and the team had to help drag me back to the Marauder through the attacks.
Once aboard the Marauder, standing in the middle of our quarters, my knees gave out as I crumbled. Ripping off my helmet and goggles, my agonized sobs finally broke free and echoed through the ship. So full of grief, my body shaking, I leaned forward on my hands for support, fingers digging into the metal floor. One hand reached up, taking my chained wedding ring from underneath my undershirt and I clutched it so hard a mark was left in my hand.
At some point, I had stopped crying and left my body. I didn’t even know the ship stopped. Feeling a gentle hand on my shoulder, the only acknowledgment of awareness I could give was a hoarse, emotionless mumble, “You should have let me go with him.”
From there, I don’t truly remember much of anything. There’s a blur of being dragged to my feet and out of the ship, and of having wet hair and clean clothes while AZ checked me over with no memory of cleaning up or changing. I’m ashamed to say that I don’t even truly remember Omega being taken. All I truly remember from the past month and a half is waves of soul-crushing pain surrounded by numbness as I attempted to lose myself in my work. I keep crying and feeling flashes of disbelief and anger. I’ve lost my appetite… and my desire for self-preservation. All this while moving on autopilot to complete my tasks and finish the mission. Find and save Omega. That is all that matters right now.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo are concerned for me, often pushing food on me and otherwise fussing. Up until now, there were eyes on me almost all the time, it felt like, and I hated it, but I understood why they hovered. Echo left a couple of weeks after the events to rejoin Rex, but I still hear him comm Hunter every so often to check in on me and find out how the search for Omega is going.
The days are often easier than the nights since I’ve taken on most of Tech’s tasks alongside my own. Hunter and Wrecker have tried to take some of them, wishing to lighten my load, but I adamantly refuse. I need them. I need the memory of helping with and hearing about them from him by doing them. They’ve let the situation be, but still intervene to make me sleep.
That’s when it gets unbearable.
The emptiness beside me screams, his scent got fainter with each passing day until it disappeared, remembering the quiet moments we shared in this space, and hearing his final words on a loop in the silence. Once the exhaustion finally takes me… I often watch Tech fall and wake with tears streaming down my face or stinging eyes and a heavy heart. Some nights, I think Hunter has been slipping me medicine in my food ‘cause those are the only nights I get any decent sleep.
Despite all this, I have, believe it or not, been getting better. Slowly, I began to reengage with the boys and be open with them. They stopped having to watch me as close or force me to take care of myself. Now, it’s reminders and intervention as necessary along with occasional check-ins when I seem particularly off one day. I’m still far from okay and I won’t ever be the same but, thanks to our brothers, I become a little less hollow each day.

enough grief for one lifetime - tech
Request: no Pairing:  tech x reader Summary:  once again you help the bad batch with their injuries Warnings: SPOILERS FOR THE BAD BATCH S2E15+S2E16, angst, mentions of injuries, blood, broken bones, swearing Word count:  2.7K A/N: there I fixed it.
you told hunter you would always be one comm away. they appreciate your help, but most of the time they're too far away for you to be of any help. it's why they rarely call you.
it's also why you nearly trip over your feet as you sprint to answer them when they do comm you.
'y/n here.' you say.
for a few seconds, you hear nothing but static sounds on the other side. then you hear echo.
'...need your help... went bad... on our way...'
'echo?' you say. 'you're breaking up really bad. how far away are you?'
'...injured... going to... you... tech-'
you hear a faint beep as the comm suddenly ends.
you can feel your heart beating faster. something or someone disconnected the connection you had with the marauder. was it simply a bad connection or was someone jamming their comms? or worse?
and then there is the way echo said tech's name. you knew echo, he knows how to keep his cool in battle. but he said tech's name in a panicked tone.
you don't know how far out they are, but you start preparing straight away. you live on a hot planet, and most of the locals live in huts with a lot of big windows. you've helped most of the locals when they get injured, it's how you met the bad batch in the first place. they got stranded on your planet and sought medical attention.
after your first meeting with them, you always stocked up on medial supplies, just in case. it seemed today is the day you'll need most of them.
you've only just finished setting everything up, when one of the local kids runs into your house.
'y/n! there's a ship approaching!' he says.
you follow him outside and spot the marauder. they're coming in fast, and you anxiously watch as they land none too gently and a bit too close to the village.
as you run up to the marauder, wrecker emerges from the ship, his back to you. you frown and run a little harder. you reach the ship and see that wrecker is carrying one of his brothers.
you feel your heart stop as your eyes land on tech. wrecker has his arms hooked underneath his arms, and echo is carrying tech's legs.
it looks like tech's entire body is bruised and bloody. he looks unrecognisable. one of his eyes is swollen shut, his nose appears to be broken and his lip is cut. he's not even wearing his glasses.
you stand there, rooted to the spot. if he hadn't been wearing his signature armour, and if you hadn't committed his face to your memory, you wouldn't be able to tell it was tech at all.
of course you cared about all of them. even though you didn't see them that much. but it always had been different with tech. you'd never acted on your feelings. afraid of too many things. that it wouldn't work out and it would make things awkward between you, that he didn't feel the same way, that something would happen and that he would leave you behind.
it seems like you should have taken the chance while you still had it. now it might be too late.
you come back to your senses when you spot hunter. he's holding tech's broken glasses in his hands.
'get him to my place.' you tell wrecker. 'I've set everything up already.'
wrecker nods and heads toward your house. you turn to hunter.
'anyone else injured?' you say.
'I've got a few broken ribs. might be some internal bleeding but I can't be too sure. omega took a heavy hit, but at least she can walk for now. I'm sure she's got a pretty serious concussion. you need to look at wrecker's neck and shoulder. echo is fine, he wasn't with us when we fell down. but you need to see to tech first. he's the worst of us all right now.' hunter states.
you're grateful for hunter's quick facts. it helps put you in a concentrated mindset. tech first. then omega, hunter, and wrecker. echo could help you. tech first. tech first. tech...
you nod once at hunter, then take off running toward your house.
once you get inside, you see wrecker and echo have put tech on the makeshift medical cot. they've taken off some of his armour.
'move.' you say.
you may sound harsh, but wrecker and echo know it's because you're focused, and a little stressed. they do as you say so you can quickly assess tech.
he's unconscious, but at least he's still breathing.
your fingers trail over his body. you'd been right about his face, a black eye, broken nose, a cut lip. he doesn't appear to have any more damage to his head, which you take as a good sign. you thank the maker for tech's helmet.
after further assessment, you can tell he's dislocated his left shoulder, and he's broken his left arm. you feel along his ribs and feel a few broken ones, but miraculously he shows no sign of internal bleeding in his chest.
he's broken his left leg the same place you helped set right a while ago. it looks like he fell on his left side, because his left knee is also dislocated.
you straighten your back and look at wrecker and echo. hunter and omega have arrived as well, and omega is worriedly looking at tech.
'echo, you're going to be my assistant today. you do everything I say, understood?' you say, slipping back into the role of the village chief medic.
echo nods. 'yes ma'am.'
'I'll get started on tech. you're going to help wrecker and hunter first, so they can help omega. then you're helping me with tech.' you say. 'first, you need to put a brace on wrecker's neck and check for other injuries. wrecker, you need to make sure you don't move your head and neck too much.'
both echo and wrecker nod at you. as echo moves to help wrecker, you give out the rest of the orders.
'echo, when you're done with wrecker, see to hunter's ribs. get a bandage around his chest nice and tight. but he needs breathing room, so not too tight. hunter, you can then see to omega. make sure she rests enough and drinks enough. when she gets dizzy or lightheaded, come to me immediately. echo, when you've seen to hunter, you help me with tech.' you say.
as they all start following your orders, you focus on tech again.
you take a deep breath. it's alright. just do what you do best.
you start bandaging up his chest. nice and tight, but with breathing room. just like you told echo. one thing at a time. you move to his left shoulder, inspecting it. you'd need echo to hold tech still while you set it right, but he's still busy with the others. you settle with taking a look at tech's leg.
just as you're done with tech's leg, echo is by your side.
'tell me.' he says.
you nod. 'I need you to hold him still while I put his knee and shoulder back.'
echo moves and holds tech's leg steady while you place your hands on his knee.
'one, two, three!'
with one quick movement, you snap tech's knee back in place.
'his shoulder next.' you say.
again, echo holds him while you count down and put tech's shoulder back in place.
a part of you is glad tech is still unconscious. at least he wouldn't actually feel you putting parts of his body back where they belong.
'what next?' says echo.
'I'm going to bind his arm and see to his face.' you say. 'can you get the others to the guest bedrooms? there's also water and food in the kitchen, make sure they eat something. then they need to get some rest.'
echo nods and takes off, getting the others to the bedrooms. you turn back to tech.
you exhale a shaky breath. just a few more, then it would be out of your hands. then all you had to do was stay by his side and wait for him to wake up.
as soon as you start taking care of tech's broken arm, you fall back into an easy routine. you'd taken care of more than one broken arm. it's ironic how you could do the movements in your sleep.
once you've finished with his arm, you finally move to his face.
you take a clean bandage, and use some water to make it damp, so you can clean some of the blood off of tech's face. behind you, you hear footsteps.
'the others are resting. omega is in the big guest room, hunter refused to leave her side so we got some pillows for him. wrecker is already asleep in the other guest room, I'm taking the other cot next to him.' says echo.
'alright.' you say, surprised you can maintain such a steady voice. 'I'm nearly done with tech.'
'you should get some rest as well.' says echo.
'sure.' you say.
you and echo both know you're staying up until tech wakes again.
echo's footsteps trail up the stairs, and you hear a door close in the distance.
you turn back to tech, cleaning his face.
'don't you dare scare me like this again.' you say softly. you're aware tech probably can't hear you. but you need this.
you don't know if you could ever tell him how you felt when you saw his bruised and bloody body in the arms of wrecker and echo. you would have given anything to change places with him.
sometimes you don't understand why you still have hope he could feel the same way about you. but there's always some tiny part of you that stubbornly refuses to believe tech doesn't care about you. maybe it was all foolishness, anyway.
you pull up a chair and sit down next to tech, letting your eyes roam over his face. he didn't look like himself without his glasses. hunter had put them on a table nearby, but they were broken. knowing tech, he could probably fix them. if only he would wake up.
now that echo is gone, you let the tears fall. everything you held back while you worked on tech, it's all coming out now. you sit there in silence, tears streaming down your face. you'd been this close to losing tech. and you wouldn't talk to him because you liked him.
no, you loved him.
holy fuck, you loved tech. maybe deep down you'd known all along. that whatever you felt for him went deeper than just caring about him. you loved him. you'd go crazy if you were to lose him.
'wake up.' you say softly. 'I need you to wake up.'
you sit there for hours. the tears long gone. you're just sitting there, waiting for tech to wake up. at some point in the night, echo had come down to get a glass of water for omega.
he didn't seem surprised to see you awake. instead, after taking the glass of water up to omega, he sat with you. talked with you about tech. what had happened. you just sat in silence and listened.
after a while, echo left again. and your fear and sadness turned to anger.
how could tech have done that? how could he have left his brothers behind like that? he almost left you behind.
you're not even tired anymore. the anger is giving you a new reason to stay awake. you needed tech to wake up so you could ask him why the fuck he would do that.
it's nearly dawn, and you're getting hungry. you get up to get a quick snack from the kitchen, then you return to tech's side.
'what the fuck were you thinking tech?' you mumble softly, as you look a this beaten up face. 'you’ve got people who care about you. do you have any idea what it’s like to lose someone that means that much to you?'
the soft rays of morning sunshine begin to fill the room. you watch tech's chest rise and fall beneath the bandages.
'what the hell were you even thinking.' you mumble. ‘it's like you don't even care about us.'
‘I do care about you all.’
you nearly drop the cup of caf you are holding. surely you didn't hear that right? but when you look at tech's face, you see he's opened one eye. the other is still swollen shut.
'then why the fuck did you do it?' you say.
tech looks confused. it might be because he's still in a lot of pain.
'I do care about you all.' says tech again.
you frown, getting up and stepping closer to him. 'I need to check to see if you haven't gotten a concussion anyway.' you say.
'I do care about you all.' says tech, more firmly this time.
you frown as you look at him.
'oh.'
‘it was the only way they would be able to get to safety.’ says tech.
‘I hate heroes’ you mumble. ‘a lot of heroes go to their deaths for what they think is a noble cause. all it does is cause the people who care about them more hurt. I’ve grieved enough for one lifetime.’
tech blinks slowly, as if staying awake is taking tremendous effort.
‘I will not give you any reason to grieve.’ he says.
‘but you can't promise me that.’ you say, feeling tears well up in your eyes.
‘I can promise you I will do my best to ensure you will never have to grieve the loss of either one of my brothers. or omega. or me.’ says tech.
you quickly wipe away your tears. 'you better do your damn best, you hear me? I was terrified you wouldn't wake up.' you say.
'you look like you haven't gotten any rest.' says tech.
'I didn't. I had to see to everyone's injuries.'
'surely that did not take all night?'
'well, no.'
'then why did you stay awake?'
'I was waiting for you to wake up.'
you look at tech again. there's a look in his eyes you can't quite understand. 'seriously though, don't do that again. I was scared.' you say.
'I will try to be more cautious.' says tech.
'and less heroic.' you say.
'I am a soldier. most soldiers tend to do heroic things.' says tech.
you chuckle softly. 'didn't lose your sense of humour, huh?'
'can I ask you something regarding your medial skills?' says tech.
'sure.' you say.
'how much good can you do in this village? it seems to shrink every time we get here.' says tech.
you shrug. 'that's because it does. most people move to the city, or off-world.' you say. 'in a couple of years this village won't exist anymore.'
'we could use a medic.' says tech.
you slightly raise your eyebrows. 'you're asking me to come with you?' you say.
'yes.'
'shouldn't hunter ask me?'
'I am asking you.'
you smile softly. 'I would go with you.' you say. 'if only to make sure I don't have to set your leg right a third time.' your smile falters slightly. 'why?'
'you said you've seen enough grief for a lifetime.' says tech. 'I simply think you need to balance it out. traveling with us won't be easy, we're still wanted by the empire. but at least you will be with us. people who care about you, instead of staying in a village that's disappearing.'
'if hunter is okay with it, I'll come with you.' you say.
'I'm okay with it.'
you look over your shoulder. 'how long have you been standing there?' you say.
'long enough. welcome to the bad batch.' says hunter. 'echo's making breakfast. I'll make sure he brings two plates here for you.'
'thanks.' you say as hunter leaves.
you turn back to tech. 'looks like you're stuck with me.' you say.
'I don't mind being stuck with you.' says tech. 'and thank you.'
'for what?'
'taking care of me.'
you impatiently wave your hand. 'I'm a medic. it's what I do tech.'
'true. but you did not have to stay with me all night. you have my thanks for that, too.'
'you're welcome, tech. now get some rest.'

Love Power ( Omega x Mom!reader)
A/N: Hello, I apologize that I do not post as much as other fan blogs especially when it comes to my original work. I tend to have long and inconsistent work hours and different things going on with my mental health. I appreciate all of you who are patient and still decide to follow me. Thank you all. For a little note about the fic I got this idea a LONG time ago when I first heard the song “ Love Power” from “ Disenchanted”. I heard it and immediately thought about a parental figure teaching this lesson to Omega. So please enjoy this short fic.
Warnings: Fluff, comfor, mentions of self doubt.
Summary: On your way to Serenno something seems off when a member of your team isn’t acting quite like herself.
Tumblr media
You were soon to arrive on Serenno as the others started to get themselves ready you went to go check on Omega. She hadn’t left her room since take off, which was really weird considering the young girl always wanted to look out the windows at all the planets you traveled to. “ Omega, we’re almost there are you ready?” No answer. “ Omega?” Her voice was quiet “ Just a second.” Another thing that seemed out of place, none of her usual excitement and optimism was in her words. “Omega may I come up?” After you had asked the curtains opened a little as a que to come in. You climbed into the makeshift room and sat across from her. She sat there curled up her cheeks red and her eyes pink, she had been crying. “ What’s wrong kiddo?”
“ Do you guys ever regret coming back for me?” “ Never once.” You responded as soon as she asked. It was true, but you had a suspicion why she asked this question. “ Why?”you asked placing a hand on hers. She shrugged and avoided your gaze. You sighed trying to give her a moment before asking again. She tried to sink more into her curled up knees and Lula. Tears brimming her eyes when you repeated “ Omega, what’s wrong?” Omega took a deep breath before attempting to explain. “ I…I heard Hunter and Echo talking and…” you placed a hand over hers to let her know you were listening.
She looked into your eyes as you gave her a kind and understanding smile. “ You guys don’t have a normal life because of me.” She cried. You adjusted yourself so that you could lean her against you. You let her get her emotions out and held her close to your chest. Quietly rocking her back and forth you started to speak as she calmed down. “ Omega, we may not have a normal life but we wouldn’t trade it or you for the galaxy alright? What you over heard was-“ you sighed as you tried to word this next part right. “People, sometimes say things that they don’t mean when they are frustrated. They don’t always know what to say or how to say what they mean and sometimes that causes them to hurt people they love. It’s not intentional, but we love you okay? We love you so much, you know that right? “
She nodded, with a sigh she leaned more into you. There was a moment of silence before she added “ I just, I still feel bad.” Lightly stroking her arm you explained “ I know, and I know that no matter what we say you might feel like this for a while. Trust me I’m speaking from experience here.” Too many times you felt like her or at least something similar. Having the knowledge that people love you isn’t always comforting, sometimes it makes you feel worse and sometimes your brain will still convince you of the worse.
“ There is one thing that you can do for me, to prove that we were right in choosing you, which we are. You can take all the love and happiness that we have shared with you and share it with others throughout your life.” The girl gave you a slightly puzzled look. “ Use your memories of times you’ve felt love. Even the smallest ones, the ones that don’t seem memorable in the moment, to spread love. All the love you’ve given and the love you have received have this power that’s, well the most powerful thing in the world. Even more powerful than the Empire. We love you so much Omega, always remember that. Just remember the memories that show you the power of love, and use that as reassurance.” The young girl launched herself into a hug which you gladly reciprocated.
After holding her for a few minutes you lightly tapped her shoulder blade and said “ Alright, are you ready for the mission and to see how beautiful Serenno is?” She smiled that smile you loved so much. The child-like one that made her seem normal, that caused her nose to scrunch a little and had this undeniable brightness to it. “ Yes!” She exclaimed and jumped down the ladder. Omega stood with her back to you for a second as you climbed down, much slower than her jump. You were then almost knocked over by the sheer force of her giving you another quick hug as she muttered a thank you. As she ran to the cockpit all you saw was the girl that was a sister and a daughter to you and the men you traveled with. The one you all knew and loved, and the one you knew would give love to those around her. Now all you had to do was have a serious talk with certain members of your team about where and when to have serious discussions.

𝐢’𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 — 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉
Tumblr media
summary — he’s falling and you risk yourself to save him
warnings — bad batch finale spoilers, fem!jedi!reader, angst, fluff, this is a fix if fic i will not accept the finale until there is a body ‼️
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓. you voiced your distaste for the riskiness of the plan, but the eyes omega gave you gave you no choice. being this close to the empire put you at risk, especially since they’d still kill a jedi at the mere sight of one. the fear slowly waned, seeing as the clones were going out of commission and the new troops, stormtroopers, didn’t know what a jedi looked like when one was standing right in front of them. you knew not to get used to that comfort.
tracking hemlock to see where he was going wasn’t a bad idea. the bad part of the plan was the location. it was a heavily guarded and fortified base holding very important commanders and information. the goal was to track hemlock to see where he’d been taking clones who defected, but your gut was churning.
“you look ill,” tech’s voice disrupted your thoughts as you landed. your eyes moved to meet his, a sigh escaping your lips.
“i’ve just got a bad feeling about this whole thing,” you admitted softly. tech’s eyes shifted downwards, mainly at your hands. he’d been getting used to being in an established relationship with you, and it had taken quite some time for him to get used to it.
“we’ll be fine,” he spoke in the softest voice he could muster. he wasn’t good at hiding his bluntness, but he was sure of himself and the plan. though risky, it would work. you nodded your head and smiled, stepping off the marauder with the rest of the bad batch.
of course, saw gerarra had to mess up everything. he blew up the compound. you probably would have done the same thing in hindsight, but it was not the time. your anxiety doubled as sirens sounded, as stormtroopers flooded the halls. even if you were on a rail car, getting away, you were still having to deal with the troopers on your car. you held a blaster, firing at them before the car came to a stop. your breaths could only be heard as you waited. they’d found out, and no one needed to voice that.
“what’s going on?” wrecker asked. you looked out of the slats of the back of the rail car, sensing something in the air.
“three ships inbound,” came the voice of your boyfriend, who’d volunteered to get the power back on to the rail car. your eyes scanned the sky, not being able to see what tech was seeing.
“where are they?” omega asked, and just as she did, three ships emerged from the clouds, blasters firing at the rail cars. things blurred after that. you fired your blaster along with hunter of the car, everything started to wobble from the impact. it wasn’t until the ships were coming back for another shot that your mind cleared and realized what was going on.
“where’s tech?” you asked, eyes frantically searching the area. he hadn’t made it back inside the car and the ships were coming back towards you. you peaked over the end of the car. you saw now why attachment was forbidden to the jedi, your mind completely froze. your boyfriend was hanging beneath the car, attached by a cable. every step wrecker took caused the car to topple, which would send you all to your deaths. you swallowed, nerves and fear creating a forbidden cocktail in your stomach.
“tech,” you whispered as you stepped closer and closer.
“i have to do this,” he shouted, “plan 99,” he finished, and you barely heard him. your stomach dropped and your eyes stung with realization. you shook your head, unable to form words.
tech aimed his blaster at the cable, and with a squeeze of the trigger, the bolt freed both him and the rail car. before echo could get the power back online, which would be a few seconds, your stomach dropped and your instincts took over. you were not losing tech today. you reached out with your hand, the force flowing through you with a strong current, saying thank you.
“i’ve got you,” you whispered. you grabbed ahold of tech, tears rolling down your cheeks as you strained to pull him up and into the rail car. once inside, the power kicked back on and you lurched with the car, racing towards the other side. you wrapped your arms around tech, and surprisingly, he did the same. you melted into him, trying your hardest to keep it together.
“don’t ever do that again,” you muttered against his shoulder.
“i won’t unless i have to, even then apparently you’ll be there to catch me,” he murmured, which was one of the sweetest things tech said. the words were sweet on his tongue because they were true; you’d always have his back.
Tumblr media
tech isn’t dead until i see a body. period.
anyways it’s been a while and i apologize! i know i have some requests to get to and i will get to those! i just had to crank this guy out because i am in mourning.

affection [ tech ]
Tumblr media
SUMMARY — tech is presented with research he cannot argue with
WARNINGS — gn!reader, fluff
REQUESTED BY — @starlit-epiphany
———
HE WAS VERY RESEARCH ORIENTED. you, were not. you allowed your mind to expand and see things in different ways; be creative. tech has his own ideas on what being creative meant. nevertheless, you two were still friends.
you were recruited on the marauder as a mechanic. someone to stay behind and make repairs while the bad batch was on a mission. as much as you enjoyed fighting against the empire, you couldn’t argue with the pay.
it was just the two of you on the ship. the others had gone out on a supply run while the two of you opted to stay behind. you were working below while tech was working above, but as you were making minor, yet necessary, repairs, you thought of something: has tech — or any of the batch — experienced any kind of physical affection? you didn’t know how or why this thought came across your mind, but you were grateful for it.
so, you decided to conduct your own research.
seeing you sat down with a datapad intrigued tech. he’s never seen you with one for an extended period of time. he thought it to be odd.
“what are you doing?” he asked, rather bluntly.
“i’m reading,” you stated as-a-matter-of-factly. you didn’t lift your eyes from your research.
“reading what?” his curiosity was getting the best of him.
“a study,” you started, and based on the confused answer surprised look on tech’s face, you continued, “i was curious as to the amount of physical affection the clones got, if any,” you continued.
“we didn’t get any,” he was getting nervous. he didn’t know why. well, he partially did. he knew why his stomach would twist into knots every time he saw you. it was obvious; he liked you. but he didn’t know how to go about admitting it, if that sort of thing was to be admitted. what he didn’t understand was that he craved your touch. after you grabbed ahold of his forearm during a thunderstorm, his mind has never let that go.
“obviously,” you chuckled, “so i wanted to fix that. this study shows that a grand total of eight hugs a day will aid in improving mental health,” you finished with a proud grin. he blinked several times, not knowing what to say at first.
“wait-eight?!” for the first time, you heard tech startled. you considered that a win.
“yeah. eight.” you confirmed. tech felt a million emotions at once, something he was definitely not wired to process. on one hand, he couldn’t argue with research. on another, that meant you’d be more physically affectionate towards him. his stomach twisted with nerves at the thought.
you knew you stumped him. so, before he could argue, you placed your datapad on the table before standing up.
“that settles it then. you are in for more hugs.” you crossed your arms and left the marauder to help the others bring in their supplies.
over the next few days, you made sure every now and then to show tech what being physically affectionate meant. you would often hug him from behind as he sat in the pilot’s chair, but that was whenever the others were off doing something else. hugs were a common thing, and the more you did them, the more he melted into them. he started to settle into the idea of being affectionate, even if it was odd for him at first.
one morning, the others still asleep, you and tech sat up front, awake. silence was between you, but it was comfortable. you sat there, one leg up and one leg down, admiring the sun breaching the horizon in front of them. your trance was broken by the softness of a hand running down your forearm, finding their place in your hand, fingers entangled together. your skin shivered from the touch, but you were caught by surprise; tech has never initiated a touch like this before.
“is this alright?” he asked softly, careful not to wake the others. you nodded your head, finding yourself at a loss for words. your stomach was warm with the flapping of butterfly wings, but you remained visibly collected.
“of course it is,” you whispered, giving his hand a squeeze. another moment of silence fell over you.
“y/n…can i, speak to you about something?” he asked hesitantly. he had to tell you how he felt, no matter how badly the nerves in his stomach churned.
“yeah,” you nodded, angling your body to face his.
“i’m not sure…how to say this but,” he starts. he has no idea how to put his thoughts into words, “based on my observations and what i’ve been seeing, i like you,” he told you. you did not expect him to admit feelings for you in such a blunt fashion. you appreciated it though; there was no need to try and figure out what he was saying.
“really?” you asked him with a smile, your cheeks flushing to be a dark red color.
“yes. i do not understand the feelings behind it, but i think it means i like you,” he confirmed slowly.
“well, if it’s any consolation, i like you too,” you chuckled and turned to face him completely. you could tell tech wanted to say more, to explain himself, so you stayed silent, allowing him to process.
“i get…nervous. i do not normally get nervous like i have been around you. whenever you’ve hugged me, or we’ve touched, i can’t explain what i’m feeling,” he was frustrated. he wanted you to understand what exactly he was feeling, but he didn’t know how.
“like electricity,”
“well of course it’s not electricity,”
“metaphorically speaking,” you chuckled, keeping your hand in his, “like a shiver,” you added. he slowly nodded his head.
“but i’m not cold,”
“i get the same feeling whenever i’m around you or whenever we touch. i’m never cold when i shiver around you, i’m, in fact, warm,”
“that does not make sense,”
“i don’t think feelings usually do,” you agreed. tech smiled, a genuine smile that you’ve only seen maybe once. he appreciated you in trying to help him understand, but it was comforting to know that you also didn’t understand feelings.
“we just have to go with the flow,” you added.
“i hate doing that,” he grumbled jokingly. it would definitely be an adjustment, but he figured he could learn to ‘go with the flow’ like he learned how to be affectionate.
———
ok so as i wrote this i just felt myself fall absolutely in love with tech so thank you @starlit-epiphany ! anyways, i hope you enjoyed and this is what you wanted! remember to stay safe and healthy! you’re loved! my messages are always open if you ever need someone <3

Hey i was wondering if you could please write a fluff Wrecker x reader where he is being a big baby as Tech is trying to patch up one of his wounds and reader is trying everything to keep him calm and not freaked out
Good Medicine (Wrecker x Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: Absolutely. I'll never be mad about getting to write this precious man child. Wrecker is dangerously close to becoming my second favorite Bad Batcher, after Tech of course. (Sorry for the insane delay responding to this. There were many physical and mental health challenges for me in 2022.)
Description: Wrecker x Fem!Reader (also Tech is present as comic relief lol)
Rating: General audiences, hurt+comfort fluff
Warnings: A Star Wars swear, mentions of blood and stiches
Setting: Up to you (literally, because I only wrote three characters, you decide were the rest of the babes are)
Word count: 1,024
Gif credit: user kamino-coruscant
Even from across the ship, you can see the anger on Hunter's face as he leans against the wall, gritting his teeth. If Wrecker screamed one more time, you worried that the sergeant was going make good on his jokes about the airlock and put his languishing brother out of his misery.
Tech continues his beleaguered attempts at bargaining for stitches, gauze and bacta in hand, "If you do not stop moving about, I will never get this wound dressed."
"It hurts!" Wrecker wails, pulling away further.
"Considering the size of the shrapnel I removed and the damage you sustained, I would be concerned if it didn't," Tech scoffs.
"It hurt less before you took it out," Wrecker argues, temper flaring, "I don't want stitches. I'll be fine!"
You bounce your leg, watching the chaos escalate from the co-pilots seat. Moments before, you'd helped remove Wrecker's gnarled leg armor, and the sight of blood soaking through his blacks was still fresh in your thoughts. You weren't sure why it was bothering you. Wrecker had experienced his fair share of battle damage. One look at him and anyone would know he was not an average man, let alone a typical clone. You were pretty sure he even enjoyed receiving some his scars if for no other reason than to be able to brag about surviving something others couldn't. However, this wasn't just a cauterized burn from a stray blaster bolt. This was a bloody, messy injury to someone you'd truly come to care for. That made it different.
You push the awful image from your mind as Hunter approaches.
"Y/N, maybe you could talk to him. He's calmer when you're around," he sighs, slumping into the seat beside you, "Quieter, anyway."
"Are you sure? I don't want to get in Tech's way," you start to object.
Tech wastes no time in interjecting, "I assure you, Y/N, any assistance you can provide will not hinder in my work whatsoever."
"Please," Hunter agrees, pinching the bridge of his nose, "He shrieks like a kriffin' gundark."
"I heard that!" Wrecker calls out before turning his attention back to Tech, "Don't you come anywhere near me with a needle. I don't like needles!"
Tech mutters something about preventing infection as Wrecker leans as far away as his injured leg will allow. You can't help but smile a little over the fuss he was making. It may be giving your squadmates a headache, but in a strange way, it was comforting for you to hear Wrecker carry on. It meant he was going to be alright. And with that relief came an idea.
You sprint back to Wrecker's bunk, and return seconds later with your arms behind your back.
"Oh Wrecker, I've got something for you," you say, very obviously hiding something.
His focus is on you instantly, "What? What have you got?"
"Something to make you feel better," you chuckle at his excitement. You stretch your arms out and reveal the tooka doll.
"My Lula!" he exclaims as you place the beloved plush in his hands, "She does make me feel better!"
Tech gives you a subtle nod. Your distraction is working.
You kneel next to Wrecker's seat, trying not to look at the saturated crimson bandages in the tray beside you. "You know Tech has to stitch your leg up now, right?"
"Yeah, I know," Wrecker groaned, accepting his fate, "I just hate stitches."
"Yeah, I do too. If it will help, you can hold my hand until it's over," you offer, smiling.
He looks up with wide eyes, "Really?"
"Do you wish you have your hand broken?" Tech questions, pushing up his goggles.
You give a him an unamused glance, then turn back to Wrecker, "Of course you can."
He grins as you place your hand into his much larger open palm.
"Alright, 'Doc'," he says with a renewed confidence, "Do your worst."
As Tech begins the procedure, your gaze drifts towards the patient. It occurs to you that you've never been this close to Wrecker before. You also realize have taken his size and strength for granted as you see that his massive fingers envelop your entire hand. Yet despite his great size and power, he is incredibly gentle. He flinches and tenses up as part of his leg is quite literally pulled back together, but he doesn't squeeze your hand or cause you pain. The man you'd seen rip apart droids with his bare hands was now cradling yours. In fact, the shouting had stopped altogether. Hunter was right: Wrecker was calm around you. Lula in his lap couldn't have hurt, either.
"Finished," Tech announces.
"That's it?" Wrecker asks, genuinely surprised. "Huh. Thought it'd hurt more than that."
"See? You did great! I knew you would," you applaud.
Tech rolls his eyes, gathering up the refuse and closing the med kit. "Next time, we shall begin with hand clasping."
The fatigued clone goes to join Hunter in the cockpit, leaving you and Wrecker alone for a moment.
He hasn't let go of your hand yet, and your heart skips as he meets your gaze. "Thanks for being here with me, Y/N. It means a lot, you know?"
"You're welcome, Wrecker. I'm just glad you're alright," you reply, worry slipping through in your voice, "I hate that you're hurting."
"Aw, it'll take a lot more than a little piece of metal to keep me down," he assures, his tone softer than ever, "Besides, I can't feel a thing now."
He gives your hand a small squeeze. You feel heat rushing in your face as you desperately hold back a grin.
"Well, just in case," you begin, getting back on your feet. You lean over and kiss his cheek, "To keep the pain away."
Mouth agape, his face turns red. You stifle a giggle, and his shock quickly turns to triumph as he gives you smirk.
"Now that you mention it, I think the bacta might be wearing off..." he teases.
You chuckle and lightly punch his shoulder. "Rest up, solider."
He laughs, leaning back in his seat with his arms behind his head. "Yes, ma'am."
