Here's my art masterpost for the @spnangelsanddemons-rb
"Let's draw mpreg" was pretty much the only thought living in my head as I prepared for this challenge. ;3
I had the pleasure of working with @butterflyslinky, who picked up my art prompt (the second picture).
You can read "On The Anti-Christ's Altar" on AO3!
Thanks to the mods for this fun challenge and butterflyslinky for the collaboration! ♥♥

Pfttt I'm just imagining baby nana treating baby jack like a chew toy and baby jack just giggling away
Sadly, baby Jack and grown Jack have VERY differing opinions about Nana chewing on them

With schools starting back up and the leaves starting to change colors, I’ve been thinking about Baby!Jack. When I was little, one of the moms would volunteer to read to us and she read The Wind in the Willows--I think Cas would do the same and that’s what he’s reading. I also really wanted to draw Midam picking Jack up from school and Dean with Jensen Ackles’ longer hair!

The first time Baby Jack wakes Dean up crying in the middle of the night, Dean doesn't even turn the lights on. He just rolls out of bed and goes to comfort the kid. He knows he's fine and just wants a cuddle, but he doesn't know how he knows, so he checks the kid for a wet diaper, for gas, for fever anyway, and then ultimately ends up singing him to sleep with a hoarse, tuneless rendition of Hey Jude.
Only afterward, when he heads to the kitchen to get himself a cup of coffee--because no way is he going to get back to sleep now--does he realize that every light in the bunker has blown out and Sam is on the floor of the library, clutching his bleeding ears.
Turns out Dean is one of those special people after all, at least when it comes to his son.

“Dad?” A hand reached up, a tiny fist grabbing hold of Cas’ trenchcoat and tugging insistently. “There’s a monster under my bed.”
Cas quirked his head at the 3 year-old standing next to the couch, and Dean startled, instantly moving from his curled up position next to Cas to get off the couch. Dean flickered his gaze over at Cas, his hand already moving to pick up a gun as his hunter instincts kicked in, but Cas shook his head softly; easing his husband’s worries with just a glance.
Instead, Cas leaned down, scooping Jack up and settling the toddler on his lap. There was no way any actual monsters could get into their house, Dean had made sure of that. Salt laid out on very first day they moved in, devils traps painted on the floor and covered with rugs, and sigils hidden behind pictures on the walls.
Safe. That was what Dean called it. And seeing the way Dean relaxed after the house had been secured, it made Cas feel safe, too.
That’s how Cas knew there wasn’t anything under Jack’s bed. And… okay, maybe he checked under there every night, and in the closet, just to make sure nothing would sneak into Jack’s room during the night.
Tucking Jack against his chest, Cas pressed a soft kiss to the top of the toddlers head. “There isn’t any monsters, sweetheart. But, would it make you feel better if Papa went to check?”
Cas glanced over Jack’s head at Dean, and he saw the way Dean’s shoulders relaxed, as if the idea was somehow soothing to both his husband and his kid.
“You’ll fight the monsters, Papa?” Jack asked, peeking over at Dean with wide eyes.
Dean bent down, crouching in front of the couch until he was at eye-level with Jack. “I’ll fight all the monsters for you, Squirt.”
Jack smiled, reaching up until he found Dean’s hand, squeezing it as tightly as he could. Shifting forward, Dean pressed his lips against Jack’s knuckles before flashing him a wink. “I’ll be right back, after I’ve slayed all the monsters for you.”
Once Dean had slipped out of the room, Cas shifted Jack onto his hip and picked him up. “How about we get some apple juice?”
Jack grinned, tucking his head into the crook of Cas’ shoulder as they made their way to the kitchen.
By the time Dean found them 5 minutes later, Cas and Jack were settled at the kitchen table, finishing their juice. Jack looked up, making a grabby motion for Dean. Scooping Jack up, Dean leaned down to steal a sip from Cas’ cup.
“Did you get the monsters, Papa?”
Ruffling Jack’s hair, Dean replied, “No monsters to slay this time, buddy. You’re safe.”
Jack smiled, resting his head against Dean’s chest as his eyes fluttered shut and he yawned. Dean smiled softly and kissed Jack’s forehead.
“Time for bed?” Cas asked, standing up from the table and sliding a hand around Dean’s waist.
Nodding, Dean carried Jack to bed. Cas tucked the blankets around Jack once the toddler was settled comfortably in bed. They both whispered their ‘good nights’ to Jack before tiptoeing out of the room.
Once they’d made their way back to the living room, Cas pulled Dean close and kissed him softly.
“What was that for?” Dean asked, nudging his nose against Cas’ before leaning in to steal another kiss.
Cas grinned, letting his hands settle on Dean’s lower back. “For being a monster slayer.”
Dean chuckled, pressing his forehead against Cas’. “You’re not so bad yourself, Angel.”
Cas laughed, happy and sweet, and when Dean leaned in to kiss him again, it felt like home.

So the thing I just realized about the "Baby AU" with Jack and Nana...is that if they actually did grow up together, their dads would still be alive.
Their parents would 100% become friends.
They both died in some incident where they were trying to protect their family by themselves. If Jack and Nana grew up together, they would have had the other's back and survived their individual incidents.
And it's kind of a wild concept to imagine...just because I have been viewing these two men dead for SO damn long that I can barely imagine how things would play out with them raising their kids and interactions with their canon grown adult selves.
I do know that their parents wouldn't make those weird af "Aw they are boyfriend and girlfriend/dating" jokes and would have just kept referring to them as friends, or rather "baby buddies".
It just makes it cuter when Jack grows up and realizes "oh wait Nana is actually really pretty" and has to deal with trying to balance having a friendship with her alongside his feelings while his parents keep pushing them as best friends.

Suptober One Shot
So I didn't have another pumpkin picture to share, so I though I would share this one shot I wrote last year for the Harvest prompt, there's a pumpkin patch so I thought that works! (If you see this posted on AO3 under superherogrl, yes that's me it's my fic)
Suptober23 day 2 part 2 - Pumpkin Patch
Family Corn Maze Trip
Going to the farmers market was one thing, he actually got some really good stuff there and he liked talking to some of the vendors. But this...
This was one step too far.
"A corn maze? Come on Cas that's so...lame." Dean made a face at him from across the kitchen table.
"Dean, Jack's really excited about it, and you know how fussy he gets when you don't come to things like this."
"God powers, and he's gonna cry over me not wanting to get lost in a field?" He grumbled. He knew Cas was right, their 3 year old, that used to be 20 something, and is currently The God of all creation (Dean still couldn't quite wrap his mind around that) wanted Dean to come on all the little outings Cas planned. He wanted to hold Dean's hand and show Dean every little interesting rock along the way. He wanted Dean to pick him up when he got tired, (it took Dean a few months to realize that Jack didn't get tired and just wanted to be held) and just be close to him.
"Good, I'm glad you understand we'll leave at 11." Cas said standing and kissing the top of Dean's head, before going to get Jack around for the day. Dean scowled at his back, and thought in disbelief how is this my life?
*****************
"Looking at the map is cheating, Cas." Dean said after they walked into a dead end. Cas rolled his eyes.
"If you say so."
"Can you see anything up there, Bud?" Dean asked Jack, who was sitting on his shoulders.
"I see all things." He said, very matter of fact. Mostly he talked like a regular 3 year old. Then every once in while he'd say some weird shit like that.
"I meant can you see over the corn stalks." Dean tried again.
"Yeah! That way!" He shouted, pointing left.
"How is using Jack not cheating?" Cas asked in an accusing tone that Dean did not appreciate.
"It's not, because we're here for him anyway." Dean said, sure enough the end was now in sight. Cas just smiled and shook his head. Once out of the maze Dean set Jack down and he immediately ran over to where the pumpkins were. "Pick out a good one for us!" Dean called after him. Dean put his arm around Cas and he leaned his head on Dean's shoulder.
"So, pumpkin carving is okay?" Cas asked, watching Jack touch every single pumpkin in reach.
"Yeah, scary pumpkins and knives? What's not to like?"
"We are not giving Jack knives." Cas said emphatically. Even though it was impossible for Jack to hurt himself, they still tried their best to treat him like a regular kid. Then Dean spotted Jack bringing them a pumpkin almost as big as he was, carrying it with no problem. Both men rushed over and Dean took the thing from him, crouching down to speak to him.
"Hey, remember Buddy, no picking up heavy things in public." He said gently but slightly panicked. He looked around to see if anyone noticed.
"Sowy daddy." Jack said tilting his chin down like he did when he was in trouble. Dean though was focused on that one word. Cas was daddy, Dean was Dean. Jack never called him that before. He couldn't believe it. Was he daddy now too? Dean smiled so wide that it made Jack give him a big toothy grin too.
"You don't have to be sorry, it's okay. Let's buy this pumpkin and head home, alright?" He said passing the pumpkin to Cas, who also lifted it one handed like it weighed nothing.
"Yeah!" Jack reached out for Dean to carry him. He obliged, settling him on his hip and pressing a kiss to his sandy blond hair. Cas in turn pressed a kiss to his cheek and one to Dean's too.
Dean walked with his son in his arms, and Cas' arm around his waist. Dean smiled to himself and thought in awe how is this my life?

Dean taking baby Jack to the meadow with him to visit Cas. Dean telling him about his dad in hushed tones where his voice breaks. Dean coming back week after week as Jack gets big enough to pick his head up and look around with bright, curious, achingly familiar eyes. Dean bringing a blanket eventually for Jack to sit and crawl around on as he gets bigger. Dean catching himself laughing at the way Jack will tilt his head and stare at something he finds perplexing, like the bumble bee that just dove face first into a flower. Dean talking about Jack to Cas as though he's there with them.
Dean packing up early on the one year anniversary because Jack is fussy today. Dean praying to Cas as he tries to soothe an increasingly screaming baby, begging him to come back because "I can't do this without you, man. He needs you. I need you." Dean nearly jumping out of his skin when Jack's eyes start glowing and his cries reach a painful volume, laced with grace. Dean making it to the Impala only to fall, unconscious, in the back seat, Jack cradled against his chest, his ears bleeding.
Dean waking up to a familiar blurry shape standing over him, head tilted in question and brows furrowed with concern. Dean sitting up so fast he gets dizzy, and feeling the grip of those hands steadying him, finally finally finally finally. Dean blinking up at that blur until it resolves into dark hair, blue eyes, tan coat....Cas. Dean saying his name in a broken whisper, unable to believe what he's seeing.
Jack peaking out shyly from under Dean's arm, dragging Cas's eyes away from Dean's with great difficulty.
Cas asking, his voice strained, is that...?
Dean smiling, blinking back tears, as he moves Jack to face Cas and tells him yeah...this here is Jack. Jack...this is Castiel. He's your...your other dad.
Dean and Cas's eyes catching and holding as they stare at each other, the implications unfolding between them, neither one willing to speak and dispel this moment of possibility, when they can see a future where they're happy, and together, and raising this child.
Cas finally breaks it when he moves forward. Draws Dean out of the car with Jack in tow. Stands there, only a breath between them. And asks a question with his eyes.
Dean's nod is barely perceptible, but it's more than enough. Between one moment and the next Cas is closing that gap between them, his arms around Dean and his lips pressed to Dean's and Jack cradled between them, looking from one to the other with a wide-eyed, toothless baby smile. And they stay like that for a long time, just reveling in this miracle, this perfectly answered prayer.
Until Jack finally gets fussy again and they have to break apart to go feed and change him. But it's different, now. It feels different. Like the distance between them is temporary, and full of promise.
