The Aztec Calendar Stone, better known in the archaeological literature as the Aztec Sun Stone is an enormous solidified lava disk covered with hieroglyphs of calendar signs and other images referring to the Aztec mythology.

The interpretations about the function and meaning of the stone are various, of course, the stone is not a functioning calendar but most likely a ceremonial container or altar linked to the Aztec sun god.

It weights more than 21 tons, the stone is around three feet thick and measures almost 12 feet across.

And now for something completely different! Another piece from my apprenticeship. This is Italian and trapunto quilting. The trapunto part is the main body of the monkey, you stitch a shape on two layers of fabric then slash the back of it and stuff it from behind. Starting at $19.95 Here is a smart-looking winter dog coat made of a double layer of fleece lined with 3M Thinsulate (See description below). The wrap-around design with T-panel assures a snug, adjustable fit, with hook and loop closures, that also covers the chest and rib area to stay dry in the snow! Also included is a matching scarf that is not only cute, but useful! Wrap it around the neckline for a turtleneck or around the girth to keep long silky fur clear of the hook and loop closure! Following the photos above, there is a winter white with gray aztec print, lined in gray; gray with winter white aztec print lined with winter white; a white and gray Fair Isle print with moose on the size large with a gray pattern lining; a gray with white trees pattern with gray and white check lining; and finally a check pattern with gray print lining. The Fair Isle and Trees and their linings are anti-pill fleece but of a much lighter weight than the other coats. Care is machine wash warm or cold, with like colors, no bleach. Tumble dry low. Do not iron. My sizes are based on the length of the dog’s back. The neck and girth areas are adjustable.
