“The sixties will be remembered for The Beatles, Andy Warhol and me.” Jacqueline Susann
“Adult books / I don't understand / Jackie Susann meant it that way …” from the single “Adult Books” by Los Angeles punk band X
Died on this day: bestselling pill poppin’, Pucci-wearing, bouffant-haired steamy novelist and inveterate self-publicist extraordinaire Jacqueline Susann (20 August 1918 – 21 September 1974). Valley of the Dolls – the 1966 best-seller and 1967 movie adaptation - will always be a sacred cultural touchstone for me. (Dolls! Dolls! Dolls! Deep Inside Valley of the Dolls, The Most Beloved Bad Book and Movie of All Time (2020) by Stephen Rebello is obligatory reading).

Did you know?... 💋❤️Jane Austen❤️💋
With the publication of Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814), and Emma (1816), she achieved modest success and little fame in her lifetime, as the books were published anonymously.

Why I Challenged Myself to Plan a New Novel
Why did I choose planning a new novel for a personal development project? Find out in today's post! There is method in my madness...
Photo by Startup Stock Photos on Pexels.com Yes, you read that correctly. No, I’m not leaving Vindico in the dust. Far from it! Instead, But since Vindico is already in-process and largely unplanned––I’m writing it mostly by the seat of my pants––I wanted to challenge myself to actually plan a novel out before I started writing it.  Airtable has a wonderful, wonderful template to help you do…

Time: Now; Contemporary Themes: MM Romance; Coming of Age; Old Souls; Finding New Paths; First Love; First Time Gay MCs: Romance What I Think: So, I’ve been away for a while and then some. Physical and mental breakdowns are so common when dealing with AI disorders and PTSD that you’d think we’d be used to it by now, non? Wrong! It still knocks the breath out of us. Then, my adopted country…

My First Draft!
I am delighted to announce the completion of the first draft of my debut thriller, “The Rainbow Killer, a Mary Dubois Thriller.” This first draft is 77,220 words, that’s 268 pages. It’s not for the faint of heart, as it contains graphic details of mutilated bodies and swearing and is provocative as all hell. I wanted to tell a story in which the protagonist is a queer, trans woman. I populated…

Don’t get stuck in “The Process!” Life will only move when you make it move. The process is meant to refine you. It’s not meant for you to unpack and have an extended stay. In the end, there’s a great presentation and you won’t look like the hell that you’ve been through! This really ought to top every “Best Opening Lines,” list. The 21st century reading public is sleeping on Dorothy L Sayers.
