The December Coup
December 1, 1989
The December Coup was the biggest coup to ever hit the Republic of the Philippines. Around 3,000 elite Philippine Marines, Scout Rangers, and other Armed Forces personnel took part in the coup that attempted to overthrow the administration at the time. In the initial day of the coup, rebel forces not only managed to secure armor and groudn attack aircraft, but also captured important military facilities. The National Capital Region and many of the surrounding areas thus became a battlefield for several days, as loyalist soldiers held their ground against the rebelious troops. In the end, government forces won, but not after heavy casualties and losses in equipment.

Update-
Hey guys, this is the mod. A long time has passed now since I put this blog into hiatus and I finally came to the conclusion that I’m no longer interested in pursuing JetStream’s story in an ask blog format. Over the time of this blog I built up story elements with many amazing friends that though I enjoy greatly don’t work as well with how I enjoy running my ask blogs.
On top of all this the original direction of this blogs story was rather depressing and though I feel stories like that have a place in media, it’s no longer what I want to write. I put a lot of my own experiences into JetStream and as I heal and grow continuing to tell that story is like keeping myself in the past.
This doesn’t mean I’m done with the character however! She, her husband, and her daughter are all still around and I’m sure will be posted from time to time on my mod blog (@temper-temper) and maybe get cameos on @askxxviperxx. If and when she does however I do plan on her no longer being Air Force but Navy (and I plan to have her of spent her time on the USS-Equestria; those who know, know)
And though I rather not go into details I do want to point out that this has less to do with anything between myself and another tumblr user and more to do with the facts stated above. I’m choosing to end her ask blog because her story would work better with a comic currently than the ask blogs I take pleasure in running.
Thank you guys for understanding! If there are questions feel free to ask but after awhile I’ll no longer answer them on this blog.
(Wonderful art by @randomgurustuffs of JetStream and her husband Merlin)

Thank you everyone for coming into Charming’s life. I’m sure he will have a great time with all of you.
I featured all the very new followers that I could. Sorry to those that I didn’t include, I couldn’t find an OC on your blogs, but I still notice you.
This was definitely very tough to do, took me longer than it should. Jetstream’s message really helped shift the arc and finally give Charming some peace at least.
Much love,
- @the-mindstorm (Mod)
Oh also, if you support the Patreon as ‘The Inclusive’ and download the files, you might be able to figure out which character was the last one to be drawn because of the hidden layers, since I was getting pretty worn down. See if you can figure out which one.

The Philippine Army Air Corps' Baptism of Fire
December 10, 1941
The Philippines was at war. The US Naval base at Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese Navy, while US Air Corps installations in the Philippines were bombed by Japanese aircraft from Formosa. These two attacks resulted in heavy loses on American ships and aircraft. With the destruction of most of the aircraft of the United States States Armed Forces - Far East (USAFEE), both the US and Philippine forces had to rely on the remaining US Air Corps aircraft, as well as the Philippine Army Air Corps' 6th Pursuit Squadron.
Under the command of Captain Jesus Villamor, the 6th Pursuit Squadron was deployed at Zablan airfield, ready to take to the air in an event of a Japanese air raid. On December 10, 1941, the pilots of the squadron heard the sound of distant church bells, thus alerting them to an impending air attack. Rushing to their outdated P-26 fighter aircraft, they began taking off just as Japanese Zero fighters started to strafe their airfield.
In the battle the followed, four P-26s fought against the more advance Japanese Zero fighters. Despite the disadvantage towards the Filipinos, the squadron managed to evade the Japanese fighters by hiding in the clouds. Because of this no Filipino aircraft was lost that day. The same could not be said for the Japanese, as they lost two fighters that day, with one kill going to Villamor and a probable kill going to Lieutenant Juliano.
Over the next few days, the Filipino fighter pilots in their P-26s would engage the Japanese in hit and run attacks. In the end the 6th Pursuit Squadron shot down three enemy planes, while losing two of their own in air battles.
By December 24, due to the rapid advance of Japanese ground forces, the Philippine Army Air Corps was forced to abandon their planes, while their personnel retreated to Bataan and Corregidor to help in the defenses there. Because of that the pilots and mechanics were forced to destroy their aircraft.
The Filipino pilots of the 6th Pursuit Squadron fought bravely, despite being outgunned. Their exploits are the legendary and are still remembered today. During the late 40s, as the Philippine Air Force was reorganizing, the 1st Fighter Squadron was redesignated as the 6th Fighter Squadron in honor of the legendary unit that fought in the early days of World War 2.

Shutter Ghost decided to take Pecan to a local waterpark to help build his confidence!
If anyone wants to, you’re more than welcome to add your own characters into the picture, whether they’re greeting Pecan or enjoying the waterpark. Just check the reblogs first so no one accidentally gets cut out!
Also, I took the opportunity to practice shading and drawing water! Close ups and names below the cut! :D
