D10 could feel the heaviness in his mind, the pressure around his head, all the stress.

He wanted to scream and just yell out all of his frustrations and pain, but he knows that it's just better to swallow up his struggles and not show his own son how much of a mess he truly was at that moment.

Diesel: Dad?

D10: .... I want to go home..

That's all D10 could say without sounding like he was about to breakdown.

Random question but what's PI!Luigi's stance on Piranha plants ? Bowser uses them a lot in his army or as guards/pets, does Luigi like them, does he hate them, is he indifferent to them...?

Luigi honestly likes the Piranha plants! He's like canon Luigi there- he likes gardening and finds it relaxing, he just doesn't do it much because theres very few plants that grow in Boo Woods/Dark Lands.

the main problem is that Piranha plants don't like him- he's naturally chillier than most humans and emits a kind of cold 'aura' around him, and the plants very much do not like that, and usually try to bite him in order to keep the chill away from them. as a result he's kinda just neutral on them most of the time.

Most of his experience actually comes from hanging around Waluigi so much. Mans a Piranha plant fanatic.

Sometimes I think a lot about how Qiu has “doting” for us in Step 1, even though we barely know them during the prologue

In one of GB Patch ask, it's actually said that Qiu and Tamarack's dynamics to MC in step 1 are their basic ways of treating people in that stage.

So I think Qiu looking out for the MC despite barely knowing them is simply because of who he is. He doesn't just have "doting" for us; he also has it for Tamarack and likely the majority of kids he knew.

And if you think about it, that's quite something, right? Like, seriously. Think about all the things he did for MC and Tamarack in the prologue, and really sink it in that these are how he usually acts to pretty much everyone :

Offered to tag along and walk with MC and Tamarack to make sure that they get home safely

Accompanied them to school on their first day even though he usually rides a bike

Helped out introducing MC to everyone and smoothed out the situation if MC didn't respond during the roll call

Checked out on MC and Tamarack after their first school day and prepared thoughtful gifts for each of them

Invited them to join his club regardless of his friend protesting against it

Called out Ren (his long time bff) and sided with Tamarack and MC (the kids he just met yesterday) when they were excluded for being girls

Some of those might have to do with Tamarack and MC being his neighbors, but I still think it's impressive how he went out of his way for two kids who were basically strangers to him the day before.

And the thing is, he will still do all those things even if you aren't friends with him. Qiu trying his best to be welcoming and helpful to MC is something that never change in every route.

So... Yeah. I know that Qiu being over accommodating is his thing in step 1, but it's still kinda amaze me to see the extent of it when it's laid out like this.

I always assumed that Tamarack's Step 1 tears were going to be her realizing that this is her new life and not just a fun visit with her grandparents. Her attitude in the prologue gives me the vibes that she doesn't really register just how long-term the situation is. (Whereas Qiu understands the situation, hence why he berates himself when the topic of his mom comes up, since Tam's parents left her there.)

Ohh, yeah. That makes a lot more sense and seems much more plausible!

I had just assumed that Tamarack didn't really mind moving in to Golden Grove since she was used to her parents being busy with work and was fine playing around on her own when she was homeschooled. But looking at how easily she accepted it, it's possible that the situation hadn't really dawned on her during the prologue!

On that note, I'm curious about Tamarack's relationship with her parents and whether they will play a significant part in her story arc. Being left by your parents, regardless of the circumstances, is never great for any child. I wonder if this might have some influence in her character arc (though I'm not sure what since it's still pretty hazy for me).
