I've been feeling so much emotion lately about these things that I did this: Mir with the asexual flag, look at him go!!
Tumblr media
And I made a lot of drafts of the text that I would like to write, because this is a post with my set of thoughts, so-
I recently took random quizzes and saw that the character was headcanoned as an aroace, although before that I had seen only bisexual headcanons.
Oh fuck, this made me so happy that I even wondered why..why if it’s important to me, I can’t talk about it on my damn territory. Allonormativity has been burning me out for as long as I can remember, it has led me to negative points in my life, I don’t like it.
So I have to clarify: All fandom/OC content here is asexual/aromantic (platonic, in general). I have no idea why it’s hard for me to talk about this, but I need to talk about this, because otherwise I start to hate what I do, and that’s terrible. What's the point of wasting time and effort on a piece of art that I can't even talk honestly about? End of statement.

our teacher told us to write an essay about any topic we'd like
sir, prepare to read paragraphs upon paragraphs about asexuality and aromanticism and how platonic relationships are just as good as everything else and not everyone has to have romance and sex in their lives to be fulfilled

Can we normalize horny asexuals?
Like, I don’t want to have physical sex with anyone, but I will write some of the most gnarly smut ever read when I get a little itch.

I missed most Ace week it looks like. Since it’s the last day, I’ll try to make this brief.
Aces/Acepecs of any flavor belong in the LGBT+ community. The A in LGBTQIA stands for Aspec after all.
Fellow Aces, please be kind to each other. I have seen so much discourse and gatekeeping within our community for years, and it is very disheartening, especially as someone with a very complicated identity.
Also, I hope everyone had a good Ace Week this year.
(Note: Exlusionists DNI. Do not start lgbt+ discourse on my blog.)

Point 100 of being a biromantic-asexual that sometimes sucks:
I like to simp so hard for certain people that sometimes I like to use terms or expressions like „smash“
What people don‘t understand about that is, however, that by „smash“
I do not mean „I want to have sex with that person“
I mean „I want to wrap that person in a blanket, cook them a cup of tea and talk about our feelings and afterwards take a long walk on the beach while we are being touched by nothing but the moonlight on our faces and the overwhelming joy in our hearts“,
but since that is too long and too strong of a feeling to actually describe in one word I often say „smash“ instead.
So if you ever hear an ace person say „smash“ or a similar expression that is usually linked to sexual attraction please don‘t try to invalidate us:
Sadly there are enough simple words in the English language to express a strong wish of having sex with someone but barely any that describe the feeling of longing for someone’s companionship and platonic love.

Here’s a question that I’m conflicted about:
Should you be able to sexualize a canonically asexual character?
I personally think no. But one could make the argument that asexual =\= above sex. I’m mean there is sex repulsion but unless the creator says they’re a sex repulsed asexual, it should be fine. On the other hand it’s still in a way erasing the representation of an asexual character by only depicting them as sexual.
It’s very confusing to me cause when I see a asexual character being sexualized (especially if it’s an aroace character) it makes me sad, cuz the people depicting the asexual character in typically sexual situations are blatantly ignoring their asexuality. I’d compare it to turning a canonically gay character straight. But at the same time I recognize that depicting asexuals as strictly not into sex is very damaging to the asexual community as it could lead to misunderstanding what asexuality is? This just may be a personal problem :/
What do you guys think?

There should be a dating app specifically for asexuals. That way finding a non sexual relationship would be easy.
