There was an egg in the sky...... a giant egg.

Volo couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a giant egg appear in the sky. It was big, green and the outside shell seemed to be moving all across the surface. Volo was certain that all of Hisui could see it from how big it was.

He had been watching it for the past five minutes since it appeared from the distortion in the sky and it had done nothing but sit there. Whatever it was, it wasn't normal, that was for certain.

When Volo first opened the distortion he had only planned to do it to grab Arceus' attention and start his master plan. He didn't expect this.

Suddenly, the egg moved again, this time different. It seemed to shake ever so slightly before it started glowing. The glow didn't die down till after the egg split open, releasing whatever was inside.

When the light faded, Volo could see something big and green in the sky. as the egg started to fade away, whatever the green thing was slowly floated down before giving a giant flap of it's wings. It appeared to be some sort of bird, was it a pokemon?

The thing then released an echoing cry as it flew south down the mountain. It was fast, and it didn't take long before it flew overhead of Volo, who was left speechless. As it flew off, Volo got a good look at it. It was big, and definitely not like any pokemon he'd ever seen, hell, Volo wasn't even sure it was a pokemon.

When the monster let out another cry, Volo had to cover his ears. Slowly, as the cry faded, Volo slowly uncovered his ears and watched the green beast fly away with mixed thoughts and emotions.

His plan was only to find Arceus and become the ruler of a new world. It was a simple plan, one that was thought out carefully. He hadn't expected anything to come through the tear in the sky.

The worst part was that Volo had a sinking feeling that the giant bird monster was only the start. He had a feeling that he would be seeing it again very soon. He felt it wasn't going to end well.

What had he done?

Fun idea but N (from black and white) is also a descendent of Volo and Punch Baby Akari from a line that decided to stick more to the wild then be with humans, this made them be able to still understand Pokémon but unfortunately an easy target to locate for those that seek to used them for it *cough* Ghetsis *cough*.

lmaooo that'd be wild. Of course, my current headcanon that fits in with my Pokemon Worldbuilding is that for the first few years of their life, children are able to communicate with Pokemon.

But they eventually lose that connection, which is why Brie is so special, but often told to grow up.

And N's situation is the worst case scenario of what happens when a child keeps their connection by limiting human interaction (at the cost of stunting them socially).

(not that Brie is any different, but she at least has a healthy support system)

(firm believer of Ghetsis abandoning his bio son in the woods and then coming years later to fetch him. I think it's a lot more insidious but also, they look too much alike for it to be a coincidence lmaooo)

ANYWAYS, back on this, get you a wild lineage that leads you to have N Harmonia mcfucking picking a dragon, beat a champion, and then proceed to get his ass beaten by some rando kid he decided to battle because their Pokemon seemed so happy to be with them. :V

Volo and Punch Baby Akari's lineage would be wild.

Cynthia might've not kept that specific connection, but she did grow up having a better connection to her Pokemon that just...doesn't need any communication.

Funnily enough, where I got this headcanon/worldbuilding is because of Arceus and Dawn and time travel shenanigans a la the Arceus movie (back when we were still in like...Gen V, and BW2 were just announced). The idea was something happened, and Arceus decided to effectively gift humans a better chance at growing closer to Pokemon by letting them, as children, communicate with them.

Imagine my surprise when Legends Arceus got announced, and now we have Punch Baby Akari and Arceus. SO....ay, you can thank a certain someone for the ability that Brie never lost when she was abandoned in the Glimwood Tangle.

However, this does mean that Punch Baby Akari is in a world where the idea of communicating with Pokemon on such a level is unknown, and even with her special case, she started out WITHOUT the ability.

Arceus fucking made a big oopsies, and got REALLY lucky that things didn't go too badly, but they still need Rei to come in because GOD DAMN, Punch Baby is too feral, and Giratina is throwing the biggest hissy fit a child can throw and dragging Volo into it because of shared interests with Arceus.

But yeah, hope these tidbits are enlightening, because this is the result of a decade's worth of headcanons and worldbuilding.

I like to think that if they did end up in Hisui somehow Melli also ends up in Unova. Because Arceus does seam like he'd have a weird sense of humor, and the past got Ingo for a little while. Why not let the future have Melli?

(And also because To be honest, I just like the idea of Emmet and Melli Fighting. not serious fighting, just The World's Dumbest Arguments like how you Pronounce Potato. )

lmAO emmet and melli constantly fighting each other is so funny to me— it prolly wont happen in this AU (simply bc i dont want to get headaches figuring out everything that would happen if that was a thing), but melli being oopsied into the unfamiliar land of Unova seeing a second weird wishcash who looks exactly the same to the one in his home town, which is the only sort of familiar thing to him in this whole mess, he just walks up to Emmet, starts asking questions in his way of asking questions which promptly pisses Emmet off the longer it goes on. And Emmet in the end almost kindly asks him to fuck off, but realizes Ingo might be in where Melli’s from so he tolerates this brat and insults him back whenever he gets on his nerve too much lmao

They’d be a funny duo

For the PLA timeline thing, I just fall on the side of "Whenever it's funniest to set it". Like, if it's funniest to set it 500 years ago, that's where it is. If Meiji era is funnier, that's when it is. If it's in the future, then it's in the future and Arceus did an oopsie. (In all seriousness, while I do typically set it about 500-600 years ago, I'm not against other time periods: it depends on what works best for the individual story.)

ok but "it's in the future" is a really fun idea. moreso as an au than a read on canon bc i also love sf/apocalypse and stuff in that vein. but also like the idea that the human relation with pokemon is the same bc that knowledge was somehow lost over time. yknow? does that make sense

I did an oopsies and forgot to update this blog ever BUT. I figured out how to do the exploit to trick gen 4 games into thinking mystery gift events are still going (and are completely legitimate! No cheats or hacks needed!) And got. The Azure Flute. So. Should I get a shiny Arceus that would certainly be something to merit me reviving this blog
