يَا عِبَادِي كُلُّكُمْ ضَالٌّ إِلاَّ مَنْ هَدَيْتُهُ فَاسْتَهْدُونِي أَهْدِكُمْ
O My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide you

I started a modern AU Old Guard fic in Feb 2021 in which, a few chapters in, Nicky starts learning Arabic on Duolingo.
'You know what,' I thought, naively, 'I'll just do the first few lessons myself so I can use some of the sillier sentences from it in the fic.'
Just under 3 years later, I have just completed all levels of Duolingo Arabic on Legendary. The fic, while nudging at 100k words, is still not finished. I believe there is one brief reference to Duolingo in it.
It's a bloody hard won reference though.

Pixel Font: Feedback Appreciated!
So I'm making a pixel font, where I try to make letter bodies 7 tall or less. One of my goals is for it to support a wide variety of writing systems. But because this includes scripts I'm not familiar with, it's hard for me to get a feel for what looks right or wrong in the letters I've drawn. So if you see this and you speak a language that uses one of these writing systems, or consider yourself familiar with them for any reason, I would appreciate any feedback you could give. My main focus is in making it readable within the font's limitations; I would like to make it look natural and good-looking for the standards of that writing system, but if that's not possible with my limitations then that's alright.
Somewhat-complete scripts: Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic, Greek, Kana, Ge'ez/Amharic, Hangul, Hebrew, Tsalagi/Cherokee, Armenian.
WIP scripts: Devanagari
Sample Images:
Again, if you regularly use any of these writing systems and you want to give feedback, I would appreciate it very much!
List of edits since the original post was made:
-Adjusted some glyphs to improve legibility for Armenian & Hebrew
-Fixed ligature encoding in Arabic
(also standalone ه is narrower now)

Started taking calligraphy classes and this is my first attempt at the Koufi font..
Took me three hours for this one (guide lines, numbering and measuring was involved but I erased them)
Second attempt became easier

the biggest bummer about trying to speak or read Arabic online is that the default font is so, so tiny so I have to either Google translate it or I have to write it out on paper and re-read it in my bigger handwriting.
anyway. im going to open duolingo and TRY to relearn Arabic. at least a little. especially now that i have friends that speak some again.

// I hate that the search function doesn't work on this site because I need to find that post of Al dealing with her Florida Man accusation of the week going "who tf started a rumor that I was arrested for making a bomb tutorial for ISIS and putting it on YouTube" because I need to follow it up with "their flag is in comic sans and I have too much self respect to be associated with that"
