One week of night vision
Tumblr media
Hi guys, so this weeks post is going to be about my thoughts after owning my night vision for a week. So ever since I got the night vision, I have taken it out every single night since getting it from Brownells and there are a handful of things I feel like I should mention in this post. Things being stuff that I thought was going to be true that I found out we’re not and things that I, just happen to notice while using it. That being said, let’s get into it.
First things first, I didn’t realize how much the weather played a role in using a vision. The day that I got my PVS 14 we just so happen to be in a new moon phase so there was absolutely no moon visible. That being said, I was still blown away the first time I use this, even though it was the worst night to be using night vision. Things like ambient light from more populated locations or even just the moon make a huge difference in using night vision. One more thing to consider is cloud coverage, so I’ve been using mine primarily in the woods where it’s already darker, but then you add no moon and cloud coverage, and it’s very dark, but yet I was still amazed by the performance of this nightvision device.
Tumblr media
The second thing I want to talk about is movement under night vision. Initially, I thought this was going to be a very hard task from everything I’ve ever heard before but to my surprise it was actually very easy. Walking through the woods and on trails and even walking around in my pole barn with a bunch of junk all over the place , I didn’t have any issues with doing that. I think the main thing to keep in mind when you’re doing this is remember that you’re wearing a night vision device and remember that your senses are a little bit decreased and then you should be fine. I do think it’s very important though to get out and walk around and move and do things with your night vision before you expect to be some high tier operator with it.
Tumblr media
Next up is going to be the night vision accessories that I have mounted on my rifle and pistol. Initially, I didn’t really know what to expect with this. When using the sionyx camera and looking at my IR output, I wasn’t blown away with the performance of any of the items that I chose. But once having proper night vision in hand, they work far better than what they look like on the camera. Obviously, just like with all civilian illuminator devices I wish the illuminator on my holosun had a little bit more power behind it. But the laser itself has been fantastic. The Modlite ir850 light head is ridiculously powerful, and will basically light up the woods for as far as you can see, and then that brings me to the streamlight vir2 that I have mounted on the Glock 44. Overall, I’m very happy with that for the price and it comes in that I think it’s a fantastic option. It throws a fair amount of flood which is nice for a pistol and the laser itself is very easy to pick up as well. I’ve been very happy with all the choices that I had made in the IR department.
Overall, the biggest hurdle with us is just getting the night vision itself. Once you do that, then you can figure the rest out very easily. Like I mentioned earlier in this, I got mine from brownells, which I will have links down below to check them out. Along with all of my IR devices as well You can use code BOP10 to save a bunch of money over there on this stuff.
Anyways, if you made it here, thanks for reading night vision is super cool, and I highly recommend trying to get some for yourself because being able to see in the dark is an amazing feeling.

Leading gunmakers made more than $1 billion from selling AR-15-style semiautomatic weapons in the last decade, a report from the House Committee on Oversight and Reform says.
These companies use "aggressive marketing tactics" to target young men by emphasizing masculinity, making veiled references to white supremacist groups, and touting military-grade weaponry, the Committee report said.
"The business practices of these gun manufacturers are deeply disturbing, exploitative, and reckless," Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, committee chairwoman, said in a statement.
Ryan Busse, a former firearms executive who is now a senior policy adviser to gun-safety advocacy group Giffords Law Center, told Insider that it is crucial to examine the ways that gun companies market their weapons.
Busse noted the change in how guns had been pitched over the years – from an emphasis on hunting and self-defense to selling military-grade weapons and tactical culture.
"The [gun] industry is both creating these customers and marketing to them. And therefore, it's propagating more of this radicalization," Ryan Busse said.
Busse, who testified before the House Committee last week, said that the revenue size is not surprising but what is important is "the dangerous ways that AR-15s are intertwined with political radicalization."
The House Committee began its investigation into the top five firearm makers in the country in May following the mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, that left 31 victims dead. Both gunmen used legally purchased semiautomatic rifles.
The primary target of gunmakers' advertising, according to Busse, is "this angry, young male, politically active, conservative, aggrieved, dreams of using the AR-15 to 'make things right in the world'."
"In other words– people who also fall right into domestic terror groups and radicalization and everything else."
AN EMPHASIS ON TACTICAL CULTURE, MASCULINITY, AND REFERENCES TO EXTREMIST GROUPS
The Committee report said that in their sales materials, gun manufacturers prey on masculinity by claiming their weapons will put people "at the top of the testosterone food chain."
An example of this is the "Man Card" campaign that AR-15 maker Bushmaster launched in 2010, which marketed its guns to a "Man's Man" in a "world of rapidly depleting testosterone."
Although the campaign ceased after the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 where the 20-year-old gunmanwho killed 26, including 20 children aged six and seven, was aremd with a Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle, its successes set an example for other gunmakers to follow, Busse wrote in The Atlantic.
instagram
Last year, one gunmaker generated controversy by advertising a miniature AR-15 rifle for kids, called the "JR-15."
Some gunmakers have also appeared to make references to far-right groups.
One example of this political targeting is an AK-47-style pistol, produced by Palmetto State Armory, which is adorned with a pattern resembling the signature Hawaiian shirts worn by the Boogaloo Bois far-right extremist group.
There are approximately 19.8 million AR-15 style rifles in circulation in the US and while the vast majority of gun-owners never use their weapons to harm others, Busse said it's important to recognize the ways that gun marketing plays a role in contributing to radicalization.
Since 2010, gunmakers have increasingly marketed guns as the civilian equivalents of military-grade weapons and emphasized a tactical culture, Busse said.
This emphasis on tactical culture, previously reserved for the military, alludes to "specifically targeting humans, sort of as a life or death situation."
"I'd say maybe even a majority of the guns sold in the United States now are sold and marketed with the idea that the user, the owner, will use them in some sort of tactical operation," Busse said.
GUNMAKERS DEFLECT RESPONSIBILITY
While Democrats have called for greater gun control and to remove protections that make it harder to sue gun companies, Republicans have resisted further regulation.
Republicans on the committee have accused Democrats of blaming the gun industry instead of looking at the causes of violent crime.
"Republicans want to target criminals. Democrats want to target lawful gun owners and take away their guns," Rep. James Comer, the committee's top Republican, said.
Several gun company executives testified before the committee last week and denied responsibility for recent massacres by arguing that firearms are "inanimate."
"These acts are committed by murderers. The murderers are responsible," Marty Daniel, the founder and chief executive of Daniel Defense, told the Committee.
The CEO of Smith & Wesson, the country's second-largest rifle manufacturer, refused to testify. The Committee has subpoenaed the company after it failed to provide requested information on its profits, sales figures, and marketing materials.
"It's no secret why gun CEOs are so desperate to avoid taking responsibility for the deaths caused by their product," Rep. Maloney said, per NBC News.
"It seems to me that if a company really cared that its products were being used to kill scores of Americans, it would stop selling them," Maloney said. "But of course, the gun industry won't do that because they're making lots and lots of money from these weapons."

Understanding the Second Amendment:
“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
The term “well-regulated” was commonly used before 1789 and continued to be for a century after. It described something being in proper working order, calibrated correctly, and functioning as expected.
The term “militia” refers to all citizens capable of military service. The National Guard did not replace the militia, as clarified by the Militia Act of 1903. The National Guard is the organized militia, while able-bodied men between 17 and 45 are part of the reserve militia. The Militia Act of 1903 repealed the requirement for men to provide their own firearm under the Militia Act of 1792.
The term “to keep and bear” is very easy to understand. “To keep” means to have or possess. “To bear” in this context means to carry and to hold. The phrase very simply means that you can have the item in your possession.
The term “shall not be infringed” means to wrongly limit or restrict. This acts on the previous phrase, “to keep and bear”. The language is clear and concise.
The Second Amendment, in more modern terms, would read like this: “A properly armed people are necessary for a state to be free and safe. American Citizens can have weapons in their possession, and you can't do anything about it.”
Understand this; The US Constitution is a limit on government, not citizens, and our rights don't end where your feelings begin. You have no right to infringe on our inalienable rights.

Hello can I please request a scenario where the reader messes with the character by saying “I like you too” instead of “I love you too” with Hu Tao, Furina, UMP45, STAR 15 and Makoto from Persona?? Thank you!!
(Genshin Impact/GFL/Persona 5)
Hu Tao, Furina, Shenhe, UMP45, ST AR-15, and Makoto's S/O messing with them
Adding in Shenhe because I felt like writing her! (As per usual)
Tumblr media
Hu Tao has to take a second to register what S/O had replied with.
"I like you, too"?
Hu Tao halts before her foot is out the door, turning around with a smirk and eyebrow raised.
(Hu Tao) "Oh? We're being like that today are we?"
(S/O) "Like what?"
Hu Tao taps her finger on their nose as she crosses her arms, smiling.
(Hu Tao) "I'm not leaving until you say it properly!"
(S/O) "Psh, no you won't."
(Hu Tao) "Unlike you, I don't need to be physically present at my job today, so I absolutely can!"
S/O had to relent after that. Because she was right, she would prevent S/O from leaving.
And even if they managed to get away, the prank Hu Tao would play as retaliation would probably not be worth it.
Tumblr media
Furina pouts when S/O didn't even say "I love you back". The audacity!
Her hands move to her waist, giving a harsh glare to S/O.
Well, as harsh of a glare as Furina can manage. If anything, it makes her look adorable.
(Furina) "You don't even want to say it back to me, your girlfriend?! Oh, you wound my heart!"
S/O chuckled at her dramatic response.
(S/O) "As if you didn't do this very thing to me last week!"
(Furina) "Hmph! Fine, be that way, for I will not declare my love for you if this is the response I should expect!"
She tilts her head away and begins marching away from the door, still pouting.
It was obvious she wasn't genuinely offended, but two could play at this game!
She could actually keep this bit up for weeks, if prompted.
S/O does not, lest they incur her verbal wrath for the next month or so and demanding a ransom of sweets.
Tumblr media
Shenhe stoically turns to S/O, noticing their lips were trying their best not to break into a full smile.
(Shenhe) "...S/O, did I do something wrong?"
They shook their heads and covered their laughter with one hand.
(S/O) "Sorry, I couldn't resist teasing, Shenhe. I just wanted to see your reaction."
Shenhe blinks and tilts her head in confusion.
(Shenhe) "What do you mean? All you said was that you liked me."
(S/O) "Oh, that's what you're referring to. I figured you were going to ask me why I said 'I like you' instead I love you."
(Shenhe) "That goes without saying, does it not? For us, it means the same thing."
S/O chuckled and couldn't disagree with that logic.
(S/O) "Got me there."
Shenhe, for her part, was still very confused.
What was the joke?
Tumblr media
45 frowns before she turns back to S/O, adjusting the hair out her face.
(UMP45) "Wow, so that's what I get after opening my heart to you?"
Those words were rarely said by 45, even less so when she was about to depart for an operation.
She looked genuinely hurt, which made S/O rush up to try to ease her anger.
(S/O) "S-Sorry! It was just a joke-"
They were interrupted when 45 broke into a smirk and cut them off with a kiss.
(UMP45) "Mhm, and so was that. Now, say it properly this time, would you?"
Both of them chuckled lightly before S/O gave the correct reply.
(S/O) "I love you, too."
(UMP45) "Not so hard, was it?
Tumblr media
STAR pouts when she hears S/O's response, making her face them.
STAR had a hard time saying it without blushing madly, and this time was no exception.
So to get that in response?
(ST AR-15) "Hey, that's not funny!"
S/O barely held back their amusement, making STAR's annoyance grow.
STAR flicks their forehead gently, taking care to not put too much of her T-Doll strength into it.
(ST AR-15) "S-Say it, already!"
With a tight hug around her, S/O gives in, but still laughing.
(S/O) "Sorry, sorry, couldn't resist. Love you too, STAR."
(ST AR-15) "Good..."
She squeezes them back before leaving the room.
Tumblr media
Makoto hesitates on departing, taking in what S/O had replied with.
(Makoto) "Like me?"
(S/O) "It's what I said!"
Makoto looks a bit disheartened at the response.
(Makoto) "I see..."
Before her mind could wander, it was brought back to S/O when she heard them chuckle.
(S/O) "Sorry, I didn't mean to make you sad! I just wanted to tease you."
Makoto's blush crept up on her cheeks for a brief moment before she cleared her throat.
(Makoto) "Ah, my apologies. I suppose I'm still getting used to this kind of banter in a relationship-"
S/O cut her off by giving her a kiss on the cheek, making her face burn red for a different reason.
(S/O) "Don't apologize. You're cute when you blush."
Makoto stammers over her words before simply sighing and smiling back.
(Makoto) "I'll just take the compliment...Next time, I should play a joke like that on you."
Which would be easy, if she had a sense of humor.

Carbine course prep
All right guys so this weeks post I wanted to make about what I’m doing to prepare for a carbine course that I am taking this month. This post isn’t meant to be a exact formula for what you should do. It is more meant to be a way to show what I’m doing and maybe to get an idea of what would work for you.
The first step is to head over to brownells and grab yourself a case of rifle ammo, and use code BOP10 to save some money on that. I grabbed a case which was perfect. They gave me 500 rounds to train with over the couple weekends that I have before the class. And then it gives me 500 rounds to take to the class.
The course that I’m taking is through MDFI which is a local company here in Michigan to me that offers a ton of really cool firearms training at various locations in Michigan. The class and I’m gonna take us their foundation carbine. Luckily, I was able to find a foundation qualifier PDF file on their website so I can get a little bit of a Headstart on that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall, I really like this, because all four of the shooting drills in my opinion are very useful even outside of just preparing for this class. Next weeks post is going to be about another very good training aid that I highly recommend picking up. All four of the shooting drills have a par time of six seconds, which is very easily achievable, even while taking your time And making good well-placed shots. There is also a qualifier target that is printable in the same PDF file that prints on just a single sheet of paper. It is supposed to be shot from 15 yards which seems like it is very close but you can easily shoot outside of the box from this distance.
For me, I have found this very useful to do as a preparation for this class. I’m sure there is tons of things that I’m going to learn in this class that will make this even easier to do. But I think this is a very good start for anyone that wants to just be prepared to go to their first rifle course.
Tumblr media
As always big thank you to brownells for being such an awesome company and helping out tons of people like myself. They carry tons of awesome parts optics, complete firearms, etc. and as always the links will be down below to them along with the coupon codes to save you some money.
Thanks for reading.
