I wanted to do something big for the Arcana community, something to bring us together! And why not make an event focusing on my favorite part of this community, our ocs and fan apprentices!
To participate, all you need to do is answer the daily question and tag your post with #apprenticember! There’s no pressure, no minimum word count, and you can skip days if you like!

I think, this event is a sweet opportunity to tell more about my apprentice and put them finally on the spot. They are pretty developed, but in my head only, because I was not... well secure enough? to give them more credit.

So, meet now Robin, my apprentice
Day 1 - Introduction
Pronouns: they/she/him
Familiar: Carrot the european robin
Birthday: 25 may
Height: 5'6,5''(169cm)
Favorite color: ochre
Favorite season: autumn
Fashion sense: boho baroque
Sexuality: Demisexual
Self-insert level: aprox 35%
Robin is a confident and friendly magician. Curiosity and need to be interested, entartained and involved are their key qualities alongside with how stubborn they are. However they find it hard to read people and get attached to them. That never helped making a lot of connections. It leaves Robin having a lot of familliar friendly faces around the district, but very few close friends. Robin is hardly ever bored, they enjoy keeping their aunt's magic shop and providing townspeople with whatever household magic tricks they need.
Resurrection made Robin change from the way they used to be. They lost colors in their appearence and became less loud and superficial. They feel urge to remember themselves again, to get all the pieces connected, but they are also afraid of failing to connect to their past self. Robin became a quiet observer seeking to find hidden truth in details.
Robin likes: nature, traveling, playing on words, working as a shop keeper, doing any sort of fortune telling, learning and discovering new ways of magic, collecting trinkets of all kind; calm people, hot drinks, sunsets, abandoned empty locations like ruins or dead cites; finding traces of ancient or hidden magic in places and objects; music and dancing.
Robin dislikes: too many rules and prohibitions; being told what to do in a humilating way; having somebody make important decisions for them; people who are mean and fast to judge; not being able to find a solution; giving up on people, ideas and objects.
Day 2 - LI and their relationship
Asra is Robin's one and only love interest. I could only see the rest of the routes as friendship routes for Robin.
Their relationship is sweet and caring partnership in crime.
Their connection grew slowly throughout time. Journey from strangers to close friends took them a number of years. Robin was surprised to see Asra coming back to spend time together over and over again, but it was a pleasant surprise obviously. They found themselves the most relaxed around Asra. They bonded over their light playful tempers and shared fascination with magic and it's mysteries.
Asra was the first person who choose to be near all the time and Robin welcomed him naturally. Being on their own was fine to Robin. But finding a friend like him made them realize how meaningful connections can be. Robin started to care more about townsfolk and neighborhood habitants to the point that when the plague came, Robin could not stay a bystander.
After resurrection Robin only saw Asra as a friend and teacher. While appreciating his supportive and patient attitude, Robin desired autonomy. They were eager to learn doing everything by themselves. Asra made everything for Robin not to feel like a burden, but they still wanted to do better, to feel better and to make him proud.
By the timeline of the game prologue Robin started to feel mixed feelings. They were proud of their own progress. Never since they remember themselves they felt as confident as now. And at the same time they noticed Asra distancing himself a lot (I believe it happened because the more mc became resembling the old self, the harder it was to contain his emotions but its my tiny little hc). That was the first time Robin realized that instead of needing Asra's help, they missed his company. Now that they did not need to hold his hand to stand and walk properly, Robin realized that they missed the sensation of his palm in their in a different way.
So they started making steps towards Asra, completely unaware of his true feelings. The way how eager he met them midways was another surprise for Robin. And slowly uncovering his secrets through the route made them fall harder for this person.

Apprenticember! Day 7
Let’s go back to their physical description, but go even deeper! Do they have tattoos, piercings, scars, etc? What sort of clothes do they like?
Jamie has several scars all over their body (they used to be super clumsy in the earliest months after coming back to life), but the most evident is definitely the one they have on their left arm.
Both Jamie and Asra hate talking about it, but this also happend because of an accident.
At that time Jamie had a lot of troubles regulating his magic and its strenght, and after this particular accident Asra almost stopped trying to teach him magic altogether because of how bad it scared him. It took a lot of time to convince him to give it another shot.
Interestingly enough that scar appeared in a pretty reminiscent spot.
Both Asra and Val fucking hate it.

Apprenticember Day 7
Bhekithemba
In Muriel's route he wears his kings garb and some casual clothes during his stay with Nadia to discuss how the two countries will work together moving forward.
Muriel's route main outfit:
For Nadia's route, his outfits are more toned down but still colorful and reflect his Matabele heritage.
Claudia, Mayihlome, and Bibi taught him as much as they could about their history as a family without him getting too overwhelmed. His apparel with Nadia changes once he stays at the palace to help solve the mystery of Lucio's death and his romance with her.
Generally, he tends to like clothes that aren't too tighf or loose and he prefers a clean but colorful style to his outfits.

Apprenticember: Day 1
Amaryllis Leroux
Amaryllis has a carefully crafted façade of mystery and intimidation. They prefer to retain their composure and show little emotion on the outside, but still enjoys to draw attention through song and seduction. There are very few cracks in their mask, only to be seen by the few that they allow close enough, for whatever reason.
Tall and slender, with long maroon hair and crimson eyes, they can typically be found cloaking themself in any assortment of blacks, deep greys, and reds.
Likes: “creepy” animals, floriography, poisonous plants, causing problems, composing, the rowdy raven
Dislikes: nobility, wearing white, fire, cooking, fish, talking about feelings, warm weather

Apprenticember Day 1: Alastor Nauruan
Nothing wrong with a little re-introduction. Yes this is just me holding him up like Simba
Introduce your apprentice! Just their name, personality, appearance, and likes/dislikes for now!
Around Vesuvian center district, Alastor is known as “that odd lad with the weird cat eyes”. He was always surrounded with a shroud of mystery, appearing in the city as if out of nowhere, seemingly possessing wast knowledge of magical practices and array of survival skills, and rarely talking about his past. But after supposedly surviving the Red Plague he became even more reclusive, timid and somewhat… eccentric.
Alastor is kind, polite, sensitive and sometimes a bit naive due to losing most of his life experiences to amnesia. With his previous knowledge gone, he approaches re-learning magic with energetic enthusiasm, at times losing sense of time while immersed in three spell tomes at once.
Amnesia left Alastor with a deep sense of incompleteness. He feels on subconscious level that he doesn’t look right, that there’s something wrong with the person that looks back at him when he stands in front of a mirror. As a result, he’s rather insecure about his appearance, to the point where he avoids mirrors on a bad day, but isn’t able to explain why. Rediscovery of his very nature will become an integral part of his story after the events at the first Masquerade held since the Red Plague epidemic.
Appearance
Alastor is 170/5′7, slightly underweight. Appears to be in his early-to-mid 20s, though nobody knows his exact age, not even Alastor himself. The most recognizable feature of his appearance is his bright orange eyes with vertical pupils that contract and dilate like a cat’s in response to his emotions or simply surrounding lighting:

APPRENTICEMBER Day 1
Introduce your apprentice! Just their name, personality, appearance, and likes/dislikes for now! If you have pictures of them, post them today!
Apprentice Snikker is just called Snikker, no official last name.
She is an eccentric woman in her mid twenties who is often described as weird, clingy but kind with an odd sense of humor. She comes across as an absolute scatter brain, but is very observant and quite intelligent - even if a bit paranoid. Aside from being a powerful magician, she is also a tailor and in charge of creating most of the masquerade outfits.
She is short (5′3), bottom heavy (pear shaped), with long (knee length) red (wine) hair, pale skin and big, bright, blue eyes that make her look almost like a doll.
She dresses very plainly most of the time, and usually makes her own clothes with fabric scraps from left over projects, or commissions. She generally dresses in a style similar to Mori Kei, or Dolly Kei, and tends to wear a lot of red. She walks with a cane which resembles a sheep crock.

This is my apprentice Rhea!
Pronouns: She/her
Sexuality: bisexual
Likes: The ocean, foraging in the forest, exploring in general, history, flying, music, pretty rocks

Favorite color(s): burgundy/forest green
Here are some outfits I sketched for her, the very last one is from her past long before she died, and the first one is her current one.
Rhea is a brave and strong-willed magician who hails from a distant country that she escaped many years ago. She is decently sociable, she has a fun personality and likes to joke around with her friends. Although she tends to keep to herself most of the time. Rhea is an amazing fighter, but tends to try to avoid violence as much as possible unless its absolutely necessary. Ever since she came back to life, she has completely forgotten how to use them. Luckily because of Asra, she is re-learning how to use magic
Day 2: Love Interest
Rhea's LI is Muriel. They both have a deep but subtle love for each other. She loves to tease him/make him blush. When around people, they don't display their affection too much. Mostly because Rhea isn't comfortable with PDA, but when they're alone you can expect LOTS of kisses/cuddles. Muriel absolutely loves it when Rhea is lovey dovey. Contrary to popular belief, Muriel loves doing everything with her. Even if it's something mundane, he can never get tired of being around her.
Some of their favorite things to do together include:

Looking for cool rocks (mostly bc Rhea enjoys it)
Day 3: Relationship with other MC's
Asra
- She has a lot of respect for him, mostly because he taught her how to do magic again
- At the same time has a lot of conflicting feelings towards him due to the circumstances of her revival
- Rhea doesn't really talk to him as much anymore
Nadia
- They are friends but mostly have a professional relationship

Julian

- They go to the Rowdy Raven sometimes and get shitfaced

- Portia likes to go foraging together
- She invites Rhea and Muriel to her cottage and chill there

Day 4: Courtiers
Rhea does NOT like any of them, with the exception of volta. She is TERRIFIED of Valdemar, hates Vulgora with a passion, thinks Vlastomil is disgusting, and loathes Valerius bc of his pretentiousness. Not to mention that he is an elite
Day 5: Other friends?
Currently I haven't made any other oc's so no she doesn't have any friends outside of the canon ;-;
Day 6: Rivals
Rhea has multiple rivals, most of them from her homeland. Her worst enemy would be the church. When she was young, she became a holy knight. She was forbidden to use any magic, and was to defend her kingdom while practicing the teachings of the church. By her teens she was secretly learning spells and using magic. One day, the bishop of the church found her tarot cards and had her imprisoned. The Bishop ordered that she be burned at the stake for practicing witchcraft and "conspiring with satan". Rhea escaped but she vowed to never to return to her home.
Day 7: Scars, Tattoos, Etc
Rhea DOES have tattoos, in fact, she has a magic one that allows her to summon wings and fly, although she has forgotten how to summon them ever since she was revived.
As far as clothes, she's used to wearing more conservative clothing. Occasionally she likes to wear more light and airy clothing.
Day 8: Familiar?
Rhea does not have a familiar ;-; although she really likes Inanna
Day 9: Patron Arcana
Rhea’s patron arcana is the sun, but they have a very weak bond. The sun encourages her to align with her true self and to be an inspiration to others around her. Rhea herself is a happy person, and is confident in herself. Although there are times where she can be pessimistic, and fails to the the positive in certain situations.
Day 10: Relationship to other arcana
Rhea doesn’t really have a relationship with the other arcana, she does her best to understand the messages they give her but their relationship doesn’t go beyond that. She does want to build a connection to them but when she tries, there’s definitely some kind of mental/spiritual block.
Day 11: Gateway?
Rhea has a gateway, it takes the form of a waterfall in the mountains. She’s not sure why it takes the form of this but her best guess is that it’s her ancestral home. She comes here when she’s stressed out or just needs a break away from people, it’s one of her favorite places. There’s just something about the mist from the waterfalls that’s soothing.
Day 12: What does their room look like?
Above the magic shop is a one bedroom apartment, since Asra lives there too, they have a room divider. Her side of the room is extremely messy, think of it like Howl’s bedroom. She has lights and trinkets everywhere, sometimes she takes stuff from downstairs and forgets to bring them back. I like to describe her bedroom as a mix of eclectic and bohemian. Maybe something like this picture? The upstairs portion also has a small kitchen and bathroom. Rhea likes to have as much natural lighting as possible, so the apartment has large windows that look down into the street. At night time, she closes all of the windows and lights as many oil lamps as she can find that’s definitely a fire hazard. Once she started living with Muriel, she became more organized but she still has many trinkets she brought from the shop. Muriel likes to whittle little figurines for her or gives her cool rocks he finds in the woods.
Day 13: Can they cook?
Yes, she LOVES cooking. Her favorite food is sopita de Fideo, which is basically tomato soup. It reminds her of home and while she didn’t like it there, the food has a special place in her heart. She’ll go into the market sometimes try new foods and replicate them at home. The one thing she’ll never eat is seafood, the smell is absolutely awful( lobsters are sea cockroaches).Rhea also loves to make new dishes for Muriel to try and takes note of which ones he likes. Muriel isn’t good at cooking but he loves to help her around the kitchen, even if it’s something small like mixing ingredients or chopping veggies.
Day 14: What does their magic look like?
Magic
Rhea’s magic is warm/fire like , she gets her energy from the sun and is able to summon her wings in the light of day. When she was starting out, she mostly used her magic as a defense mechanism. She uses a mix of offensive attacks and magic to fight. At one point, she had hurt someone very close using her fire. Because of this, she doesn’t like to use her fire magic unless it’s an emergency.
As far as divination abilities, she practices astrology and studies the stars/planets movements. She’s been studying that stars ever since she was a knight in the church, she used the stars to determine the best time to escape the old kingdom and where to go. Of course, she practices tarot reading which she also learned in the past.
She also has some healing magic, she can only heal open wounds. Most of the time, she makes potions to help with sickness/aches
Day 15: What are they proudest of?
Rhea is proud of how far she has come, She has conflicting feelings about being brought back to life since she had to relearn so many things about herself. Past traumas, her past self, and her magic. While her magic may not be as strong as before, she constantly practices in hopes of becoming better.
Day 16: what’s their deepest insecurity?
Her biggest insecurity would be her past. Post-ending, she started to uncover her past, she’s afraid that one day, her old kingdom will chase her down and burn her at the stake. She’s basically afraid of re-living her past and becoming her old self. At times, she wishes that she didn’t learn about her past.

🍄 APPRENTICEMBER - Day 1 🍄
I've written up Rosie's bio in full before but that was from a while ago so it's a little out dated... so lets do a quick n messy refreshed intro!
Rosie Springwald
Rosie is, for the most part, a very warm and compassionate person. She believes in her morals and superstitions very strongly, and is unwaveringly loyal to and protective of the people she cares about. Once you scratch past the "chill lady at the farmer's market", she's kind of bat shit tbh. Like when I say feral I don't mean in the quirky way I mean that this bitch bites and brother I hope you've had you shots.
She has a bad habit of speaking before she thinks, and she's never been one to hold her tongue. She also holds grudges for a very, very long time.
She's 29/30. She considers herself a hedge-witch, blending both green and kitchen magic.

21. Now what kind of gifts are they most likely to give?
Keziah loves giving gifts. It’s one of the ways she shows her love. It’s not about how many gifts she gives though, it’s about giving them what they need in that moment. Many times Julian has told her about how he doesn't remember much about his family before the shipwreck that left him in Nevivon. Keziah likes to do a bit of sleuthing and after years of his stories, travel and research, she was able to piece together Julian’s family tree. Relatives, the names of his parents where he originally came from. It was quite the effort but nothing is too good for Julian.
Maybe next year she’ll buy him that boat he’s always talking about

Apprenticember day 2:
Who is their LI? What’s their relationship like?
Tilly + Muriel (NOT MY ART but this STUNNING piece is by @/verysoftthings from a gift exchange that i adore!!)
I think they have a lot in common - both are introverted and have a deep appreciation for nature and living things, the hustle and immensity/overwhelmingness of city living and crowds is too much for them. Tilly feels misunderstood by most people around her so when she meets Muriel she feels understood for the first time :) I would also imagine he would appreciate their similarities but recognize their differences i.e. her slightly blunt manner of communication, and tendency to get herself into sticky situations just by sheer curiosity.
Also she saw him and was like i need to fuck him

Apprenticember Day 3: Donna and The Main Six (or.... my version of the main six LOL)
Give a short summary of their relationship to the other main characters!
This is going to get long because I can't shut up, thank you for bearing with me besties lmao
Nadia
Donna and Nadia are very close, with Donna acting as one of Nadia’s confidants prior to the game. They initially became close when Donna began working at the palace; Nadia instantly empathized with Donna’s culture shock of what life in the palace was like in Vesuvia, and she felt the need to be a source of comfort and support for them (which got physical pretty quickly lol). This blossomed into genuine feelings developing between the two that is hard to define strictly. In some continuities, Donna and Nadia (and Valerius lol) enter a full-fledged romantic relationship, and in others (such as Damien’s timeline), the lines are much blurrier and lean more platonic for them
Portia
BRAT TO BRAT, SWITCH TO SWITCH ENERGY BABY!! After the game's events, Portia is one of Donna’s closest friends. They both instantly related to one another’s needs to prove themselves, to be the heroes of their own stories, despite everyone doubting them. Honestly, it’s the lack of any prior history that makes Donna and Portia’s relationship so special. Portia has no grand idea of Donna that she is still holding onto: she’s been there since their new “beginning” and sees them for the person they are now.
Asra
Boy are these two complicated LMAO Asra and Donna adore one another, but after their death and revival, their relationship is permanently damaged. Prior to the game, the two were normally joined at the hip, and while there were some one-sided romantic feelings from Asra, he never let them interfere in their friendship, even when Donna dated guys Asra really didn’t approve of (cough cough, Sam and Valerius, cough cough). Things started to go downhill when Donna began working at the palace, and their relationship was effectively nuked when Donna died.
To put it plainly: Donna doesn’t know what to think of Asra after the events of the game. They love him dearly, but there will always be a sense of distrust and resentment over what he has done. They feel like they should be kinder to him and that they literally owe him their life, but there is a sense of violation over them having no say in their own death that they cannot quite verbalize to anyone. It feels like something was robbed from them, but they feel guilty for thinking that way at all.
Julian
Julian and Donna were close during the plague and used one another as sources of comfort while working with Valdemar. However, neither have very solid memories of this, but after the game’s events, simply remain very good friends who enjoy nerding out together lol Afternoons spent pouring over books together before getting black out at the Rowdy Raven are some of their favorite times together (and neither are very good wingmen for each other but man do they try lmao)
Muriel
Donna didn’t have a relationship with Muriel until after their revivial, and even then, they never remembered the times Muriel would take care of them when Asra was gone. After the game, however, they do begin to form a bond. Both Muriel and Donna have PTSD, and while more and more of Donna’s memories come back to them, they have a harder time managing it (even harder than before their death, as now they have a whole new layer of trauma to deal with lol). Muriel really begins to stand in as a figure who can not just relate to Donna but he was deeply realistic and blunt with them about it, which is exactly what they needed.
They didn’t want to hear about how there would be better days and that their feelings were valid: they wanted to hear “this sucks—let’s go eat because I know you haven’t.” Sometimes Donna can be a bit too much for Muriel, so while they don’t see one another as often prior to Damien being born, their interactions are always positive and deeply meaningful for Donna.

I’M INCLUDING HIM BECAUSE HE’S THEIR LI AND I FUCKING CAN GDFIHGDIFHG but this is just another reminder that they’re gross and in love LMAO and Valerius is deeply appreciative of all the new connections he would have never made if Donna wasn’t in their life. They often are a bridge for him to let his true personality show to others, and they give him more confidence to be real and not always play noble mind games with others lol

Apprenticember Day 2
Part 1
Claudia's LIs
1. Asra and Muriel, aka the Trisal. (Name credit goes to @salty-lavender)
Claudia's relationship with both of her lovers started young! She met Asra behind her aunt's shop where he was selling masks, with Siphephelo's permission. Claudia's English (Vesuvian) wasn't great and Asra could barely understand Matabele but they were able to introduce themselves despite the language barrier.
Claudia would be around for a year in Vesuvia to train under her aunt then back in Matabele by the end of the year. In that time frame they became close and fell in love.
Asra was her first everything and those feelings miraculously carried over after her untimely demise.
Her relationship with Muriel started rocky though. They first met when Asra took her with them to check on Muriel in the colosseum and bring him food that wasn't gruel. Muriel, covered in fresh blood and a fresh deep wound on his face, took one look at Claudia and aggressively told both of them to leave.
They don't see each other again until Muriel escapes to Siphephelo's place where his chains and manacles are removed. Not without Claudia trying to remove them herself.
In the context of Muriel's route, the canon route in general, Muriel is cordial (somewhat) with Claudia but doesn't believe it's the same Claudia before she died. They slowly fall in love over time and Asra comes into the fold as well.
2. Portia Devorak, the Handmaiden's Magician.
Their romance has an unconventional start. They first met at the Rowdy Raven with Erden (@mxgicthot 's OC) when Claudia was wandering around Vesuvia after work. After some drinks and getting to know both of them, she heads back to Erden's place with them to continue the night and they end up having a one-night stand threesome.
Even from that one night there were a lot of sparks between them.
This occurred at least two weeks before the Arcana plot begins and Claudia becomes a major piece to the puzzle.
They meet again at the market and after some stunned expressions, they get more relaxed around each other. By the middle of the route they become lovers and are engaged by the time the story ends.

Even though I didn’t complete my own damn event (got a fever that kicked my ass then didn’t feel like writing) I’m still honored by how many people participated in my silly little arcana event… I enjoyed reading post after post about people’s ocs, and I’ve found so many new, talented artists and authors to follow!
