screw it. midoyuzu sdv au (very long bullet point post warning in advance)

midori inherits his late grandpa's farm. parents' greengrocers shop in the city used to get a good chunk of their crops from there til his passing and the farm was since abandoned

kanata is definitely handling the fishing shop. though he spends more time in the water puka pukaing than actually fishing and manning the store but its fine she manages somehow. when midori gets the fishing rod kanata just straight up pops outta to water to give him the rod and floats away 👍 souma helps out there also

chiaki owns the saloon and bartends even if he does Not drink himself and the only thing that ever plays on tv are tokusatsu shows

as for the others i havent thought abt as much and subject to change. kuro blacksmith with his apprentice tetora maybe . nagisa the museum and library curator (and by extension i think itd be really funny if ibara was a joja executive. mostly to keep an eye on nagisa but also keeping the yzib hostility). eichi is the mayor though keito his vice mayor does most of everything and his boyfriend wataru organizes the town events and such like the valley fair etc!! natsume is the forest wizard w his apprentice sora and tsumugi comes by weekly in that traveling cart thing. madara owns the ranch probably.

everybody else is probably just normal townsfolk, among others hajime and hinata take care of the towns plants n stuff!! tatsumi priest, mayoi is half shadow person and hangs out in the sewer (of which noritama at some point explore together and shinobu befriends and invites to visit the surface). i said i didnt think about this much but thats a lie at this point. mika stays in an atelier in the forest (owned by shu whos in the city but does visit on occassion) to cultivate his own art, still best buds with arashi. jun koga adonis and maybe hiiro part of the adventurers guild, trick5tar are their own lil band!!

some charas r not present most of the time or yet like tori who is off at uni w his longtime academic rival and childhood friend and also now roommate tsukasa. their presence is very important for later trust me. rich family rivalry still remains here (along with military camp Because)

due to tori being at uni and learning independence yuzuru is off of his usual butler work for a while and working in the general store owned by the himemiyas! partly to pass the time partly encouraged to find something new to do outside of his servant duties. he calls and nags at tori regularly to make sure hes fine and such

the request board outside of the store is always a good source for side jobs and one day a request for foraged spring onions is pinned up with a terrifying drawing scribbled on it. midoris head over heels Immediately and she already has a good amount to spare so why not take it

hes probably a week into living in the valley already? while yuzuru had just started working over at the store therefore she wasnt aware of this yuzuru fushimi and finds the very one while looking for who put up the request!! the master artist + fan dynamic goes from then on

other than the usual chitchats and more requests with encouraged atrocious drawings accompanying them, been thinking a good amount of the specific town events that happen through the year!! other misc things are various quests and errands from each of the characters, like helping mika gather cloth or hajime requesting various flowers to brighten up the town

Y1 Spring: egg festival, noritama hanging out, shinobu sweeping the egg hunt; flower dance , as they havent gotten to know each other to well enough to actually dance (just like in the game) (haley please. anyways) its mostly just small talk and maybe including some other side pairings i like djdhhfjdj chiaki with a suspiciously soaked kanata and hina dragging off tetsu

Y1 Summer: acquiring the rusty key from nagisa, noritama sewer exploration and befriending mayoi; luau, nothing special particularly for this one; dance of the moonlight jellies, from here yuzuru and midori get a lot closer playing in the sand and just getting along (a bit like siosai marina)!! probably some background drop for the both of them like takamine gramps' farm and yuzurus actual role as a butler while telling him about tori as well dkhdhdjs. they spot the rare green jellyfish together here too

Y1 Autumn (yeah im calling it autumn sue me): valley fair commences, led by everyones own wataru whos hopping here and there somehow managing three attractions at once. yuzuru obliterates the shooting game; spirits eve, chiaki is desperately being clingy out of fear. just more shenanigans in this one

Y1 Winter: festival of ice!! i kinda want to recreate the snow bunny/cute critter scene in jingle bells here, while the fishing contest isnt even a contest at all except between souma and kanata; feast of the winter star ill probably keep somewhat similar to that in the recent luck fest campaign gift exchange!! midori -> hajime and yuzuru -> kanata at the very least. just good vibes all around. community centre would also be finished by then so while joja closes, ibara ends up assisting at the museum w nagisa instead jshshdh

Y2 Spring: only thing of note is that This flower dance they do get to dance together!! 👍 had to get those hearts up beforehand sjhdhdjshd midori at this point fully realized he really does like yuzuru, but kind of the calm before the summer storms

Y2 Summer: gets a bit (a lot) more complicated from here. yuzuru receives word from tori that he'll be visiting from midsummer til the beginning of autumn, and coincidentally tsukasa is tagging along to meet up with his pen pal and friend sora!! bickering the entire way there and due to circumstances yuzurus hosting tsukasa as well in the end, having to share toris room with him aksjdhjwjs

tori gets introduced to midori. the famed young master of midoris crush and this random farmer boy tori had heard so much about for some reason. midoris rather intimidated in the end but it ends up not Horribly to say the least. didnt quite help how tori had noticed how yuzuru softened up even just a bit when interacting with him. sora as well finally meets tsukasa and "the torikun he's heard so much about through tsukasas letters" 🎉 toris awfully smug and tsukasa tries to salvage it saying he was badmouthing him the whole time (not completely a lie but definitely not completely the truth either. dork)

with toris arrival inevitably comes yuzurus duties as a butler, its plain to see his priorities and out of consideration midori backs off a bit. she thought he'd only have to keep his distance until tori's gone back but little did she know toris main reason for coming not only was to assess how yuzurus faring (well and to meet eichi again) but had planned on bringing yuzuru back with him too to which yuzuru of course though not without feeling a tinge of pain for a reason unknown to him agrees to it

midori hears this from tsukasa, how he didnt think yuzuru would stay in town for much longer. and of course midori ended up pretty devastated at the news but who is he to stop yuzuru from leaving? in the end yuzuru would all but abandon his duties, and after all that same diligence and devotion is what midori had fallen for in the first place. if this short year really is all he'd get to spend with him then at the very least she'll have to make the most of what time they have left

the moonlight jellies come around again, probably one of the last times they both thought they'd be able to spend together and went off with just the two of them. a bit of an awkward air around them, yuzuru comments on how toris been complaining about the sand and other attempts at casual small talk as usual but its painfully obvious theres still that tense atmosphere

midori finally asks if yuzurus really leaving after all, to which she got a yes. midori simply nods and had long since accepted that inevitability, and already resolved that when the time comes to put an end to his feelings and get rejected properly. and so he confesses, and while saying she didnt need yuzuru to give him any proper answer in return, all yuzuru could really say was an "i'm sorry" while finally realizing what that awful ache that has been eating at him the entire time was. even if he did realize he felt the same, no matter how much he wanted to say it back theyve both resigned to the fact that its not something that could or would really ever happen between them

once the jellies have all left, their parting was pretty awkward, with that one goodbye feeling a lot like their last. tori notices something off about yuzuru and that something had probably happened between them, but didnt pay it much thought until a while later

yuzurus made more mistakes than whats normal, miscategorizing the stock or putting salt in his coffee, tori and tsukasa are both shocked and tried to pry it out of him but hes a brick wall that wont budge even a bit. it was only when midori came around for his usual errands and groceries that tori could note how distant and awkward theyre both being and that slight bit of hurt behind yuzurus all perfect mask

after much uncomfortable tension and quietly longing gazes enough is enough amd tori eventually confronts him, that while he did say yuzuru could come back to the city asks him if thats really what he wanted. and of course, all hes ever wanted or rather, knew how to want was to be able to serve tori to the best of his ability and really theres no other reason to stay anyways. even more frustrated now tori brings up midori, if he really wont regret leaving things like that when theyll surely drift apart to the point of no return if he keeps it up

argues that whatever was between him and midori has nothing to do with it!! tori is Mad and says if yuzuru is hiding behind his role to run away from the depths of his own feelings hes being a freaking idiot. eventually tori calms down and while he did want yuzuru to come, never wanted him to tear himself apart so much and that he didnt need to sacrifice his desires or getting close to anyone else for his sake, and how before being a servant yuzuru is his family as well and he just wants him to be happy too. then asks one last time if leaving the valley really what he wanted

yuzuru finally thinks it over again and apologizes first. for letting himself get so caught up and carried away for even daring to get close to someone else (tori glares daggers at him. he stops) and affirms that while he did wish to stay, theres still nothing more important to him than tori and his wellbeing and even should he open up and find more people in his life its not gonna change that fact

toris finally satisfied, reminding him again that even if he were to run off to be with some farmer boy hed still be his butler and that he wishes them the best. then proceeds to grab the bouquet from over the counter, shove it into yuzurus hands and lock him out of the store until he has a proper talk with midori. yuzuru tries to argue but it all goes one ear and out the other with tori he is Not gonna let him back inside until then

eventually gives in and goes looking for midori. he asks all around town and seems to just miss him each time, til eventually it starts pouring and into a pretty hard rain. at this point all he could rly focus on though was wanting to see him so pushes on until running into her taking shelter in the forest. yuzuru is Soaked and disheveled and with the wind and rain the bouquet is stripped down to only a few of its flowers left but he does not care at this point

midori is understandably shocked and tries to dry him off with what he had, lending her jacket and asking what he was doing out in the rain like that. well with yuzuru only being able to think about wanting to meet him had completely ignored the rain and brushes it off saying there was something more important he wanted to say

even knowing that he'd (somewhat) rejected midori before, asks if he could give him a proper response this time if midori would give him another chance. she agrees, yuzuru lets him know he wont be going back to the city after all to midoris surprise. goes on that before he knew it midori had become important to him as well and that he truly does adore him, and if his feelings havent changed would like to court him properly. midoris just processing the entire thing before crying. never thought his feelings would be reciprocated and between sobs hugs him. rain clears up, a nice rainbow arches over and while midori accepts what was left of the bouquet they almost had a moment until yuzuru starts sneezing. cue them running back to the store before he gets sick

while yuzurus taking care of himself it leaves midori and tori in the store together. tori gives her a bit of a shovel talk and if he dared do anything to hurt yuzuru he could have his entire farm shut down. and asks to take care of yuzuru for him too. they do talk a bit and end up getting to know each other a bit more before tori and tsukasas impending departure

once midori leaves, tsukasa, having seen the whole conversation, asks tori if hes really okay with it and while tori cant say hes absolutely happy is glad someone cherishes yuzuru just as much. and even if he is a bit lonely will always have tsukasa anyways half as a tease and half being genuine

Y2 Autumn: tori and tsukasa leave the valley, promising to come back next year!! theres a lot more ive planned out from this point out but i am keeping it to myself for now. or maybe forever it depends 👍 my apologies if youve read this far you deserve a medal thank you for listening to my silly rambling 🏅

theres some other things like mini chara arcs/episodes and such (or stuff like specific "heart events" of a sort) i thought abt but among them is tatsumi and mayoi meeting and [omitted] or tetoras apprenticeship under kuro, or shus visit to observe mikas progress and [omitted], and specifically a certain trks episode also

okay god i'm gonna throw a plot synopsis i have worked out for the steampunk (kuro)nazuna fic because otherwise it's gonna get deeply buried in mine n lis' dms and i'm gonna lose it

so the more i think about it the more i feel like its just gonna be an ex-valk study so i dont want to start it even until i have read the fundamental ex-valk stories u know? but based on what i have pieced together i think this would work out thematically and everything.

basically shu is a doll-maker's apprentice or just an apprentice of some sort of carpenter or something who also makes dolls/automatons and shu is fascinated by them idk that's a detail i can iron out later. he becomes obsessed with creating the perfect doll with this face mold he finds that is nazuna's ultimate face mold and theres like a whole uh. whats it called. like the timelapse or whatever of shu building the doll and meticulously building it and bc its steampunk theres a little magic involved to make it move and be able to do what he wants it to do.

however shu doesn't have the greatest control over his magic and totally did not tell his master that he was doing this like a typical 15yo boy so now nazuna is accidentally sentient but cant talk and just puts up with shu's demands bc he has nothing else to do but it starts getting worse as shu demands perfection from him because he's a doll he should be perfect obviously but nazuna knows that he has gears out of place or whatever he can't be perfect that's how things are but shu can't see that even as nazuna is falling apart at the seams.

kuro is a tailor's apprentice down the street and provides some of the textiles/cloth to shu's master every week and has started taking notice of nazuna and asked shu about him one week and shu was like oh this is a doll i've made i'm trying to make him perfect but kuro can see right through what shu cant bc of his rose tinted shades and that nazuna is falling apart but he doesn't really know what to do about it. nazuna notices this and waves to kuro when he comes in and kuro will talk to him for a little bit and they start getting along really well.

eventually nazuna has had enough though he's literally holding himself together by sheer willpower and storms out on shu one night and its raining for dramatic effect and nazuna doesn't know where to go because the doll-maker's shop has been his whole world up until this point and ends up breaking down in front of kuro's master's shop where he gets taken in and they get him all fixed up enough that he can move at least.

i kind of want to end it with wataru stumbling in after hearing about the automaton/doll that works as a tailor's apprentice and wanting to bring nazuna to help get the circus' automatons/dolls to perform and its the rest of ra*bits but this would be like an epilogue kind of thing.

mika would also come up at some point in here idk if i want mika to be human and jealous of nazuna for being a doll/automaton and therefore able to keep going continually or if mika is going to be a second doll/automaton. haven't entirely decided yet but i will cross that bridge when i get there i guess considering i probably wont actually write this for a while, if at all. but anyway i've been rotating this in my mind like its a michael wave and i need to let it out somewhere so. tell me ur thoughts mayhaps.

She's such a good mix of unhinged. Aside from being a sadistic worm she's also a huge simp. She's a cliche of a child being taken in by a villain and impressing him enough to become apprentice

Except instead of a menacing villain we got ridiculously cringe caricature who dances while explaining evil plans of his boss in a clown voice. But he's also a dangerous lunatic who digests so much poison that his hands melt surfaces...

This dynamic is hilarious but also such a good spin. And she REALLY loves him. Her likes is him and dislikes anyone who isn't him. They managed to make their relationship so funny but so uncomfortable...

Oh yeah also I'm making shumika au based on this bullshit 👍

Friendship Showdown: Preliminary Round #26

Propaganda:

Chihiro Fujisaki and Mondo Owada (Danganrompa): i love them individually and i love their gym buddies dynamic. chihiro really admires him and mondos kind of a women respecter so they are maximum unlikely friendship. they could have been so much if not for the Dangan Ronpa i think they should play video games together.

Jayfeather and Briarlight (Warriors): Jayfeather is a cat doctor, but he's also blind and faces daily ableism from the clan (which is not the greatest idea i mean he's your only medic he can kill you and hide the body why are you making him unhappy??? he also totally has the temperament to kill you and hide the body) and Briarlight is a happy go lucky apprentice until a tree falls on her (long story short) and she finds herself paralysed from the torso (or whatever cats have in that area) down. She thus takes permanent residence in the medicine place and for some 20 books or so becomes the best friend and confident of Jayfeather.

Mika Kagehira and Arashi Narukami (Ensemble Stars): They're very sweet to each other. Mika's uncomfortable around other guys, and Arashi's a trans girl at their otherwise all-boys school, so they're perfect friends. Arashi's very refined and ladylike, while Mika's kind of a feral kitten who's canonically into eroguro, so their aesthetics are opposite, but they're very good friends.

Founder-

-Breezestar/Anemostar - Barbatos

Who is now the spiritual form of a clouded leopard, Breezestar brought BreezeClan to where it is today, on an island in the middle of a huge lake, after a catastrophe that occurred in the previous territory ruled by a tyrant. Having declared BreezeClan a free territory, it’s no wonder they’re welcoming to outsiders and don’t question a cat’s choice in where they stay. Known to be carefree, they still watch over the Clan.

Leader-

-Birchstar - Varka

Described to be a large tabby tom with a battle-scarred pelt. The current leader of BreezeClan. He went out in an expedition and has yet to return. His fate is beyond his clanmate’s knowledge. By the time he left, he had about 7 lives.

Temporary Leader-

-Dandelionsun- Jean

A sandy-colored she-cat who’s fur darkens to a crimson-brown around her muzzle, paws, ears and tail. Formerly Dandelionfang, and the deputy of BreezeClan, she stepped up to guide the Clan while her predecessor was out. Despite her good reputation, she struggles to maintain the peace at times.

-Glacierdance - Kaeya

A large blue-shaded gray-spotted tom with a pile of leaves patching up his right eye. This charismatic cat was taken into BreezeClan under Cardinalmane’s care, growing up alongside Duskflame, thus being a BreezeClan cat by alliance, and not by origin.

Medicine Cats-

-Whitedust - Albedo

A cream-white tabby tom with unusually bright blue eyes. Like Glacierdance, he is a BreezeClan cat by alliance. Strict with his work and constantly experimenting with herbal remedies, the only thing he really lacks is the ability to speak to StarClan. Even the many statues of Anemostar give him no answer.

Apprentice: Sweetpaw

-Roseshard - Rosaria

A red-and-black tortoiseshell she-cat with a cold glare. Despite her connection to StarClan, she doesn’t bother speaking to them as much as BreezeClan anticipated. Rather, she’d prefer collecting herbs and leave all the Starspeaking to Sandpaw.

Warriors-

-Duskflame - Diluc

A tortoiseshell-and-white tom with a battle-scarred pelt. Trusted by Dandelionsun to lead most hunting patrols, he’s constantly outside BreezeClan, keeping himself distracted with duties. He is the adoptive older brother of Glacierdance, though their relationship has since been strained. He still grieves the death of Cardinalmane, his father. He’s usually seen interacting with very few cats when he’s in camp, if at all. Mainly Dandelionsun.

Apprentice: Morningpaw

-Thornfrost - Eula

A blue-gray-and-white patched she-cat. Her bloodline is one BreezeClan isn’t exactly fond of, as her ancestors were known to be devastatingly cruel cats. Yet, cats are still expected to treat her with utmost respect, as she is one of the most powerful warriors of BreezeClan, often leading battle patrols.

-Amberhop - Amber

A short brown she-cat with dark ginger patches on her pelt. A hyperactive cat who scouts the clan territory usually alone. She has little to no experience in battle, the many scars on her pelt are due to her clumsy behavior which results in patrolling accidents. Chances are, you may find her in the medicine cat’s den patching up new wounds from her careless wandering.

-Lilacstorm - Lisa

A sleek, large brown tabby she-cat who decorated her pelt in violets. Though she may seem laid back and distracted with her own thing, she won’t hesitate to defend her Clan. She has the closest bond with Dandelionsun out of everyone in the Clan. Charismatic and intelligent, the clan would be nowhere without her.

-Duckshine - Mika

A yellow-shaded young Tom. Duckshine is Thornfrost’s only apprentice. He’s the result of giving a fresh warrior an apprentice, as his experience is a bit messy. He’s a shy, yet dependable cat, despite seeming unbearably young for his duties.

-Pebblerose - Noelle

A gray tabby she-cat. Despite her small size, she’s an incredibly powerful warrior and would risk her own life for the safety of BreezeClan. Desperately wanting better recognition, she’ll go through unnecessary lengths just to be praised for her hard work. She’s reliable, still, and knows the main areas that are usually patrolled.

Ashtrip - Bennett

An ashy-gray spotted tom with an insane amount of scars across his pelt. More than Amberhop. Deemed the unlucky warrior, Ashtrip lives up to his name for ‘tripping’ into all kinds of messes. Wether it’s failed hunting, running into a pack of wolves, or dreaming into the Dark Forest, this adventurous cat is still rather optimistic despite his misfortune. His clanmates often joke that he has nine lives, as there’s no way he survived so many dangerous situations.

-Corvidsong- Fischl

A black-and-ginger calico she-cat with many considerably absurd, yet correct theories. Corvidsong claims to come from a world beyond the forests of BreezeClan. Even befriending a raven in which she’s nicknamed ‘Oz’. Her tales are often the topic of interest between apprentices, and they look up to her for her bravery.

-Nightwish - Mona

A black she-cat with white spots across her pelt representing stars. She’s a Starblessed warrior, according to some of the medicine cats. Her connection to StarClan is significantly better than the average warrior, but never has she dared become a Medicine cat. Often receiving prophecies and omens before the medicine cats, some apprentices even come to her for her advice.

-Wolfclaw - Razor

A gray, messy-furred tom. Went missing as a kit when exploring the territory beyond BreezeClan, and found by Ashtrip seasons after. He claims to have been raised by wolves, and is declared an unofficial warrior, as he doesn’t hang around camp too often. He knows the forest like he knows the patterns on his pelt. Reliable when searching for lost cats.

-Windysong - Venti

A sleek, spotted tom who’s fur is decorated with Cecelia flowers. Lazy, yet knowledgeable of his Clan. Windysong lives up to his name as he sings with birds. He won’t hesitate to disturb Duskflame, no matter where he goes, no matter what he does. Windysong is ‘blind’ to the dangers that the forest holds.

Apprentices-

-Sparkpaw - Klee

A sandy-tabby she-cat. The youngest out of the apprentices, Sparkpaw is disruptive, and destructive. Easily distracted when training. She often runs out to TwolegPlace to investigate their many trinkets and toys, no matter how dangerous. Nobody knows where she came from, and the more important warriors are often the ones caring for her, especially her mentor, Dandelionsun, and the medicine cat Whitedust.

-Sweetpaw - Sucrose

A greenish-gray she-cat. The oldest out of the apprentices, Sweetpaw should be an official medicine cat anytime soon. She struggles to open up to other cats due to her shy demeanor, and looks up to her mentor, Whitedust. She’s passionate about her training and communicates with StarClan for her starless mentor.

A sandy-colored she-cat who’s tipped with white fur, unlike Dandelionsun, Sandpaw is a graceful medicine cat apprentice. She looks up to her mentor, Roseshard, despite her cold demeanor and ‘negligent training’. She’s sweet, considerate, and reliable.

-Morningpaw - Diona

A calico she-cat. Morningpaw’s rash behavior is influenced by her hate towards her mentor, Duskflame, believing that the patrols her partakes in are why her father is so negligent of her. It doesn’t help that he’s her mentor. She hardly ever listens to what he has to say, and only replicates what she sees from other apprentices due to her bias. Duskflame doesn’t understand why she has be so hard on him.

Characters

-Tsukasa Suou (A Knight from the Tsukinaga Kingdom. He's 21 and has always wanted to be a Knight. He's well rounded in Archery, Mounted Archery, Swordplay and Singing. He's also pretty crazy about horses so anything related to that gets him going. He values Friendship and Honesty above anything else.)

-Shu Itsuki (One of the founding Alchemists. He's about 26 in this AU and values creation and isolation over everything. He's amazing at sewing and adores taliorship over a lot.. more important things.)

-Mika Kagehira (Current Apprentice of Shu Itsuki... turned into a cat.. by accident. Shu hasn't got the energy to transfigure him back so for now-- a little angry kitty who'll protect Shu with his life.) (And fight Tsukasa... at all times)

-Nazuna Nito (Shu's very first doll, and first broken doll as well. She is nothing more than a reflection of his mistakes. She's free now, but when she was in Shu's grasp, she was nothing. Nito is nothing more than a mirror to Shu.)

-Leo Tsukinaga (The King of the Tsukinaga Kingdom, head of the Royal Guard and most annoying person ever. It’s rumored in the castle that he’s dating the captain of the royal guard, Izumi Sena, but that has not been confirmed by both parties.)

-Izumi Sena (Captain of the Royal Guard. Right hand man of the King and leader among all. It’s also rumored in the castle that he’s dating the King, but he refuses to admit it— also he punishes anyone in the Guard for confronting him about it.)

-Ritsu Sakuma (Strategist of the Royal Guard. His brother is the Alchemist of Destruction, fortunately or unfortunately, he practically bears the weight of his brother’s sins. Ritsu takes pride in his strategies— especially the ones on the fly.)

-Arashi Narukami (Member of the Royal Guard. Albeit, her position may seem like not much, but she plays a critical role in defusing situations and her quick work with make-up makes her an amazing cover for any future operations)

-Rei Sakuma (Alchemist of Destruction. Older brother to Ritsu, and leader of his own branch. Duh. Not much is to say about him, he simply takes pride in his brother and his branch.)

-Sora Harukawa (Apprentice of Balance. One of Natsume’s closest friends and second Apprentice. Sora can see “colors” [albeit hard to explain to other users] and traces of magic + runes. Thus becoming more of an aid to him than anything. Sora values friendship and discovery above all ^-^) [I love him dearly]

-Natsume Sakasaki (Alchemist of Balance. He lives in a tower with Tsumugi and Sora in the desert, where they study the Balance branch of Alchemy. He takes great pride in his friends work— and his own.)

-Kanata Shinkai (Alchemist of Potionology. He’s a healer and Scientist in one— Kanata values life above all and tries his best to preserve it.)

-Wataru Hibiki (Alchemist of Transmutation. In the day, a traveling performer. But when night falls, an Assassin for the emperor. But of course, it’s all in the script. And Hibiki will never stray from the script.)

-Eichi Tenshouin (The Emperor who started this horrid war in the first place. He who holds Transmutation in his fist… A love sick idiot, if you will. He who rules Ordin— higher than Tsukinaga.)

-Madara Mikejima (A secret third thing :)

-Ryuseitai (Kanata saves their leader— Chiaki, with one of his potions… and they swore to follow Kanata… Kanata swore to follow them !)

-Tsumugi Aoba (Apprentice of Balance. The first Apprentice of Balance, an ex-Holy Knight for the Emperor. In fact, he was their captain, but after the war, he too went into hiding. Natsume took him in though, reluctantly or not.)

-Nagisa Ran (Ex-Holy Knight during the war. Literally just a dude. He travels around with Hiyori to see the sights of the world… rocks… he’s all about discovery and adventure. He can still fight but rather prefers not to.)

-Hiyori Tomoe (Ex-Holy Knight during the war. #1 Eichi hater and if he could throw a coup— he would. He travels Ordin with Nagisa. Hiyori can fight but only uses it as defense rather than actual. Fighting y’know.)

-Tori Himemiya (Heir to head of Himemiya family. Trade merchant who acts like a literal princess. Childhood friends with Tsukasa and loves getting into fights with him just for the sake of doing so.)

-Yuzuru Fushimi (Tori’s Butler. Tori’s personal butler, and assassin. Not much is known about him… and it’s better that way.)

-Ra*bits (Nito’s new family— after she was free she found these three kids from different kingdoms— and cared for them as her own.)

Reminiscence. A short distance from The Abode of God, at an industrial garbage heap at the mountain’s edge…

Madara: Traaansform!

Kanata: There it is~, Mikejima’s transformation! ♪

Again, again ♪ This time, do the transformation where you move your hands in a circle! ♪

Madara: How many times are you gonna make me do that? You sure are excited, huuuh, God…?

Kanata: Because this made me happy~♪

Thank you, Mikejima. For preparing something so beautiful for Kanata’s sake.

Madara: If you like it, then it was worth all the hard work!

You were aaalways sayin’ you wanted to see the outside world, God. All you get to see are pebbles and salt water, so you wanted to see something else.

So I cleared up this abandoned garbage dump, plowed it, and planted some flower seeds. That was a long time ago, thoughhh…

And you went outside for real the other days, so I feel it’s a bit too late now.

But as you can see, the seeds I’ve planted are finally budding.

I actually hadn’t expected there to be covered in flowers like this… Just what’s buried in the land here? It’s way too rich in nutrients!

Kanata: Amazing, amazing! It’s pretty, so pretty!

Madara: Yes, this place is forbidden—The vicinity around “The Abode of God” is more or less off-limits to ordinary believers and such.

Only select caretakers are allowed.

Kanata: Mhm. Only Mikejima, and then Grandpa and Grandma who were said to have been believers since long ago.

Madara: I’m still just an apprentice, thouuugh. I was forcibly recommended by my parents since we were the same age and would get along—

But well, I’ve committed the grave crime of taking God outside, so I feel I’m on the verge of losing those rights.

Kanata: Don’t say that. You’ll always be my caretaker, Mikejima.

Once Grandpa and Grandma prepare food and stuff, all they do is bow down to Kanata, it’s boring.

Madara: Those guys are believers down to the very bone, aren’t they…

But the people approaching us right now dooon’t look to be those dried up fellas.

There’s a lot of footsteps, and they’re rough. They’re getting closer and closer.

I have a bad feeling… Let’s hide behind there, God.

Kanata: O-Okay. Will do as Mikejima says.

Mikejima is always right. So if Kanata does what Mikejima says, he will be safe.

Madara: I’d like it if you thought for yourself from time to time… Well, it’s no wonder, this is an environment that fosters that sort of “thinking”.

I doubt they’ll even let you attend school.

Kanata: School? What’s that? Is it something fun?

Almost all of the things Mikejima tells me about me are pretty and fun things. ♪

Madara: I told you, be quiet… The owners of the footsteps have shown themselves.

Kanata: Mmmph… Don’t cover Kanata’s mouth, he can’t breathe.

Madara: (Just who are these guys? They’re dressed in black from head to toe—Wait, don’t combatants in those in tokusatsu shows look exactly like that?)

(Is this real? Am I mixing reality and delusion after watching too many tokusatsu shows?)

Kanata: Abyss.

Madara: ABYSS? You mean that suspicious bunch that the adults are always talking about lately?

Kanata: Mhm. They’re saying a lot of things like, “for Abyss”, or, “as Abyss”. They might be part of Abyss.

Madara: How can you hear them at this distance?

Kanata: Ears are good. It’s easier to hear when Kanata’s eyes are blocked.

Madara: Hmm. Still, ABYSS, huh… I’m always hearing that name in the strangest places.

Kanata: What is Abyss? Does Mikejima know?

Madara: Hmm. It appears our religion is on the verge of an internal divide.

I’m sure everyone’s agitated in the wake of God’s—in other words, your mother’s death.

Seems like there are forces attempting to take advantage of that turmoil to gain supremacy within the religion.

Kanata: This is a hard to understand conversation…

Mikejima is amazing for knowing so many difficult words.

Madara: It’s boring studying at cram school and school, so I’m always reading books instead.

What’s more important is, ABYSS is a new religious group attempting to split off and become independent… That’s the rumor.

A brand new organization formed by those who have abandoned the religion and hope to start a new one together, basically.

Just who are believers of this so-called “ABYSS religion”—

In other words, the adults are growing suspicious of each other, since they don’t know who is betraying the religion or abandoning it.

Kanata: That’s scary. Abandoning the religion for other faiths cannot be forgiven.

Madara: If you ask me, I think it’s all preeeetty fishy. It’s nothing but a rumor with no basis in fact.

Kanata: What makes you say that?

Madara: There’s no indication of any activity by ABYSS. Not a single trace.

My parents also have the role of internal inspection of sorts for the religion, so I can find out a lot by stealing and reading their documents and stuff.

While the name ABYSS was mentioned here and there in documents and such, there was never any mention of specifics, like who are members of ABYSS.

It’s unnatural. As long as someone is alive, they will leave all sorts of traces, but there was nothing of the sort.

There’s no substance, like it’s a figment of the imagination. It’s only found in documents and in rumors… I know it sounds weird, but it’s like they’re a ghost or a youkai.

God is dead, and everyone is somewhat anxious. Maybe ABYSS is just a name for that anxiety… That’s what I think, at least.

Kanata: It’s like the “bad thing”.[1]

Madara: Hm? Oh riiight, there is the “bad thing” told about in our religion—Maybe they’re a product of such baseless fantasies?

These adults all look like idiots, being driven around by something that doesn’t even exist.

Kanata: … …

Madara: Ahh, I mean, though I shouldn’t say that, as someone who aims to be an ally of justice.

Kanata: Not that, Mikejima. Behind you!

Madara: … …!?

(What the? I didn’t sense them at all! Before I knew it, the guys dressed in black appeared right behind me—ABYSS!)

(Those guys may look weird, but they sure are professionals! They move like that powerful guy that I saw at that police judo tournament my father forced me to watch!)

(I’ve been caught off guard! I’m an idiot! I’ve failed, again! If only I had ran away immediately, instead of chatting away so carelessly—)
