Has anyone EVER mentioned in season 1 how that last time Crowley ever interacted with Aziraphale before the bookshop fire was after he hung up on him. From his perspective Azriaphale called, Crowley outright ignores him for probably the first, and later finds what he thinks is the crime scene of his best friend (and more). Crowley didn't answer once and lost everything.
Now that you're in tears, allow me to get you sobbing: Aziraphale has repeatedly ignored Crowley, hesitated to answer, and fought against him. Now, imagine you're Crowley and for the first time you understand what you want and need and you dare to ask for it. You hype yourself up to ask for more, push yourself to be vulnerable. Then, you are interrupted and cruely gutted through miscommunication and misunderstandings and conflict of interests and the toxic manipulation of outside parties. You realize you've lost, and you're desperate and you're feelings are too big for your words and you are somehow grieving something that hasn't really ended but it falling apart between your fingers. So you call one last time, you pull the most unfair and cruel stunt you can because you can't do anything else to show your love. You need him to understand the gravity of it all. You call out to him, pleading. And he doesn't reciprocate the one consistent thing you've done for 6,000 years minus one event that almost lost you everything. And you lost it again anyways.

𝚂𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢: While on a patrol, you realize just how much you care for the birdbrain known as Hawks.

“For fucks sake!”
You grab the bird brain’s jacket, tugging him away from the press swarming him. “Come on nugget man, we got shit to do and people to see-” Hawks laughs, playing along. Once you’re both around the corner, he plants both of his hands firmly on your shoulders.
“Thank you for saving me, I am forever in your debt.” His serious demeanor slips within two seconds and he leans against you, laughing. You join in, shaking your head.
“I swear, do they not realize you have hero shit you gotta do too?” You both begin to walk down the street, his wings having been yoinked of most of their feathers the previous day. He groans.
“You gotta deal with this every day?” Pouting, he shoves his hands into his pockets. You can’t help but laugh again.
“What, too slow for the fastest man alive?” You poke his side. He swats at your hands.
“Hey hey hey! Don’t do that!” He shoves his hands into his pockets again. “... maybe-” Turning around, you watch him as he speaks.
Your eyes slide over to your best friend- your partner in crime. 3 years of this. Unfortunately, your stupid heart decided to to the stupid thing of liking the stupid idea of him possibly being your stupid significant other.
Yeah, right, you scoff internally. Come on, look at him! Mans is pretty damn close to perfect. He starts rambling about some new case he’s gonna be sent on, but you stop listening after he says 2-3 months.
Also unfortunately– your stupid feet can’t apparently walk right. Tripping over literally nothing, you brace yourself for impact–
...that doesn’t come?
A hand grabs yours, pulling you into his chest. “Woah there- if I didn’t know any better, you weren’t paying attention,” He teases. He’s right of course, but you’d never let him know.
You pat his chest, looking up at him. Your face was HOT, heart slamming against your ribs. “Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows? Not you, not me. Come on!” Grabbing his hand, you take off. He lets out an indignant squawk at the sudden change of pace.
At the brief contact of your hands on his chest, sparks had raced through your body.
Your heart had yet to stop pounding from him saving you from humiliation. Holy SHIT that was close– but being that close to him felt so damn intimate. Why? Who knows, but it was kinda nice.
We’re just friends, nothing more, you scold yourself as you weave through the bodies in front of you (with poor Hawks in tow).
Just friends. The thought made your stomach turn.
I’m gonna tell him tonight, when we get back to the agency. For real this time.
You blink, and it seems as if time warped in on itself. You were about a block away from the building housing his agency. Cursing to yourself, you let go. “Ah shit- didn’t mean to drag you that far-” He cuts you off with a laugh.
“Nah, you’re fine.” He pauses, placing a hand on your shoulder. You turn to face him with a confused hum. “Can we talk for a sec?”
Your stomach drops. Fuck, what did you do? Were you too loud? Did you talk over him at some point? Did you do something rude without realizing it? As if sensing your paranoia, he ruffles your hair.
“Nothin’ bad, birdie. Just wanted to talk. That’s all.” You breathe a sigh of relief– partially.
“Alright, what about?” He scrunches his nose, brows furrowing in thought. A smile tugs at your lips. He was cute when he was searching for words. You both continue to walk in silence for a moment.
“Well… fuck, why is this so hard?” He groans, plopping on a concrete slab around some plants. You sit beside him, head cocked to the side.
“Come on bird man, you can do it!” You cheer, and he chuckles a little. You take it down a notch. “Seriously, Hawks. Whatever you need, I’m here.” He purses his lips.
“Keigo.”
“Huh?” You stare at him. His gaze was a bit softer than usual. Almost vulnerable, even.
He takes in a shaky breath. “Call me Keigo. I’d… prefer hearing it from you.” A shy smile is thrown your way, and your heart flutters.
Just friends. Nothing more.
“Keigo,” You try, the name rolling off your tongue easily. You then smile. “Beautiful and fierce. It fits you.” Grinning, you bump your shoulder against his. He turns, gaze even softer.
Just.
Friends.
… if not now, when?
Taking a deep breath, you take his hands. “I wanted to talk to you too. Been meaning to, actually,” You chuckle, averting your gaze. This could ruin everything, or make things amazing.
At this point, when would there be a better time?
“Ok, first off– I don’t wanna lose you, keep that in mind. Promise you won’t hate me?” He looks at you with confusion before nodding. His amber eyes sparkled with curiosity. Were they always that pretty?
“I get.. This weird feeling when I’m with you. A good one!” You blurt with a small laugh, before composing yourself. “A good one. I can’t explain it, but I do know,” You take a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
“I do know I really enjoy spending time with you. I know we’re both pros and it’s dangerous and even possibly stupid to even think like this, but you’ve become someone really special to me and…” This is the moment. This is it.
Say it.
Say it.
“I think… I think I might be in love with you.” You squeeze your eyes shut, bracing yourself. Would he laugh? Is he disgusted? Opening your eyes, he’s flabbergasted. You start to backpedal in panic, heart sinking.
“You don’t have to like me back, you know. These feelings are probably just temporary, I just wanted to tell you how I felt-” He cuts you off.
“Well too bad, cause these feelings are mutual and now you can’t get rid of me. And did ya ever think maybe I don’t want those feelings to be temporary?” He hooks a finger under your chin, intense gaze meeting your own.
Your heart is pounding so fast with the mere fact that he’s this close. Hawks, Keigo, the #2 pro hero of Japan, is mere inches away from your face. Swallowing hard, you purse your lips.
“Do you mean that..?” He was a jokester– sure, he had limits, but you had to know.
He scoffs. “Ya know, you think you’d pick up on signs over the last year and a half-” You pull him into a tight hug, burying your face into the shoulder of his jacket. He makes a noise of surprise, but his arms wrap around your frame all the same.
“I’m fuckin dense,” You laugh into his chest. He chuckles, shaking his head.
“Nah. But hey, I care about ya too, kid.” He ruffles your hair, standing up after you both let go. You sit in shock.
“The FUCK did you just call me?!”

Hi P'ABL, how are you?
I love to see your analysis and thoughts on different BLs, and you always come off very well educated when it comes to cultural aspects, especially Thailand's culture.
Having this in mind, I think maybe you'll have some answer for my questions. Well, I want to know why Buddism is so heavily portrayed in BLs (like, for example, I Will Knock You). I know Buddism is the biggest religion in Thailand (please correct me if I'm wrong), but it still surprises me how prevalent it is in BLs. Also, I've seen a couple of BLs where the main character gets ordained, and from what I read on the subject, it is a pretty common thing to do, and is a sign of respect both to the religion but also to the family's believes.
Buddism in Thailand
December 2021:
Department of Religious Affairs reported that the population of Thailand identifies as:
92.5% Buddhist
5.% Muslim
1.2% Christian
In other words, a higher percentage of the population of Thailand identifies as Buddhist than the USA identifies as Christian (65% in 2019) or Catholic in Italy (79.2% in 2021).
So Buddism is in Thai BLs because it's in Thailand. It's just very prevalent. One might as well ask why there is so much Christianity in Hollywood's romantic product (oh it's there, language, swearing, modes of address, courting rituals, gendered attire, weddings, etc...).
It's probably unusual and interesting to you, so you noticed it. Also Americans (in particular) - I don't know how you identify but...) tend to be hyperaware of religious/spiritual representation in pop culture because it's so taboo, hyper-politicized, and divisive in the States.
(Appropriate dinner table conversation in different countries is one of the things that fascinates me the most. Like, what's taboo in different countries when you're visiting someone's home for a meal. In larges parts of the US, religion is generally a pretty taboo topic.)
I think it's also prevalent in BL because there's a lot of dead parents, and the death rituals of a culture come into play under those circumstances.
Anything dealing with the spiritual or paranormal, and now weddings and children and blessings and so forth we gonna see religious/spiritual belief rep. As we get more BL delving into different aspects of culture in search of story we will simply see more and more of those aspects of religion that intersect with that aspect of culture, for purely statistical reasons.
Monkhood
I would hazard a guess that the proportion of those in Thailand who chose to be ordained as a Monk is probably the same percent as any other Buddist nation.

Last year I followed along with the show and tried to note some of the d&d mechanics that got translated into tlovm and it was a lot of fun, so I'm doing it again!
I think this season they've eased up a little on how closely they followed the tabletop feel, but there were still some lovely nods to it.
Episode 1:
Allura casting what I think was Prismatic Wall to protect her and the imperial family?
Also the spell she casts to trap Umbrasyl looked like a play on Magic Missile - definitely expanded on.
References to Gilmore's Runechild nature with how he deflected Vorugal's ice breath.
Keyleth really favouring Gust of Wind
I especially LOVE the way they showed Grog rolling a 19 and not hitting Raishan
Vorugal's lindsight seems to have been upgraded to Truesight

Episode 2:

I don't have much to say about this episode besides the Groon v Grog fight, which I think played with rage mechanics and the monk mechanics sooo well
Episode 3:
Scrying when Pike looked into Thordak's business
I think they have taken a lot of creative license with Zahra's abilities because I can't recognise them in comparison to her listed stats from the table. They look cool as hell tho. Potentially changed one of the invocations to Eldritch Sight.
It seems they are changing Keyleth's abilities too, in that she doesn't have access to water magic until she visits the water ashari which I love.

As a nurse, my information and knowledge has increased and what better way to celebrate by sharing with the rest of you? Totally not because I love this shit too-
This is MUCH more in depth (because my dudes I know WAY too much)
Drugs have many categories, some of which I have touched on before. These included sedatives, hypnotics, addictive drugs, insulin, hallucinogenics, and anesthesia.
Other drugs that are underutilized include:

Obviously, pain is yeeted! Maybe not entirely, but it's MUCH better than what it would've been.
With this comes mental distress at knowing what's happening, even if they can't quite feel it.

Unhealthy crunch--
Sedation is a common side effect, but so is delirium and dizziness.
Nausea and vomiting is pretty damn common too
Tolerance builds after a while... and so does dependance >:)
Oopsie withdrawal go brr!
Respiratory depression!! Breathing doesn't go brr right.
𝚃𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝
The antagonists help reverse the effects. naloxone, or Narcan, is a SUPER common one used. But be wary... pain is comin' back and it's comin' back HARD.
𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘩𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 (𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘴)
These are great if you have high blood pressure! However, what happens if you give them to someone with regular blood pressure?
𝚃𝚢𝚙𝚎𝚜:
Calcium channel blockers
Thiazide / loop diuretics
Beta-blockers
ACE inhibitors
(there are many more but these are common)
𝚂𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚜/𝚜𝚢𝚖𝚙𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚜
Note: I haven't experienced this but I have taken care of someone who has had this happen.
Ofc, their blood pressure is going to TANK. This is knows as bottoming out (NOT THE SEXUAL KIND).
This shows with diaphoresis (sweaty as FUCK), extreme shakiness, pallor, and extreme dizziness.
Trying to take their BP usually results with not being able to find it (at first). Takes MANY tries.
Usually very weak, this can lead to falls or other concerns similar to that.
Good soup
Can kill if not rectified.
𝚃𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝
Can be treated with IV fluids, raising the feet, and emergency antidotes (this is determined by the class of antihypertensive taken).
Whumper will prolly not do these--
IVs are a PAIN to put in because-- the pressure is yoinked, so the veins are basically FLAT.
𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴
Not too surprisingly, if you take antidepressants when they aren't prescribed it doesn't end well.
𝚃𝚢𝚙𝚎𝚜:
SSRIs (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors)
SNRIs (Serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors)
MAOIs (Don't take anything else 14 days after discontinuing -- BP go U P and can kill)
Tricyclic antidepressants
(antipsychotics are a part of this, but I want to do a section on it's own)
𝚂𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚜/𝚜𝚢𝚖𝚙𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚜
Obviously it makes anything that was there worse more than likely-- there are certain meds that do not vibe with people (Wellbutrin for me) and it gives BAD side effects
It varies with each drug, but the normal s/s tend to be nausea / vomiting, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, decreased alertness, sexual changes (increased or decreased libido), GI bleeding, anxiety, anorexia, increased appetite, seizures, fever, irregular heartbeat
Fucking SJS (Stevens Johnsons Syndrome) and TEN (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis) is on BASICALLY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE
SJS starts off as a rash. If there's no reason determined, it's this. Fucking stop the meds.
TEN is similar. Both can lead to Sepsis, and death.
Bad lime.
Listen ODing on these is NOT hard if you don't know SHIT about it-- and the withdrawal can be awful too
Giving a whumpee a 'way out' but it's just enough to give them awful side effects??

Benadryl can be useful, as can tapering the dose over time (ofc the whumper prolly won't do either).

Typical antipsychotics (older, much worse side effects)
Atypical Antipsychotics (Newer, less side effects)
Anticonvulsants
𝚂𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚜/𝚜𝚢𝚖𝚙𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚜
Things used as mood stabilizers (Such as Risperdal, Haldol, Zyprexa, Seroquel) can cause mania if used in those w/o manic disorders.
Mania is a TRIP.

Pseudoparkinsonian side effects are common-- super shaky, your gait (walking) is fucked (more of a shuffle than step).
Tardive Dyskinesia is BAD. No control of facial movements, drooling, many facial tics.
Hallucinations :D
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome.
This one is DEADLY.
Shows as muscle stiffness, fever, and delirium, fucked mental and autonomic functions.
Anxiety, yeeted periods, blurred vision, fluid retention (heehoo swelling), diabetes, dry mouth, hypersomnia / insomnia, loss of appetite / thirst, possibly even death

Street drugs are dangerous. These can be laced with things such as Ketamine, Fentanyl, and god knows what else. (Whumper just gets their shit wherever they can).
You can get high off of Epsom salts.
That's right, I said it
If they give you ANY of these, along with herbal substances, it can make the effects much worse.
Don't fuckin use St. John's Wort for ANYTHING or WITH anything.
