-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Camilo quietly breathed out as Mirabel’s question hanged over them all in that moment.
…are we too late for a miracle?
All six of them just stood in silence, in the middle of the common area of their shared bedroom—or more accurately, the nursery.
He grimaced. They were all still in the nursery, even after so many years had passed. Not that it was bad. It was actually fun to be with his hermana, hermanito, and primas in the same room. They were all together, supporting one another. They were never alone with each other.
But they couldn’t deny that they were lucky that the nursery kept expanding as they all grew older. Camilo didn’t know what would have happened if the nursery stayed the same size and space it had been before. He could only imagine what it was like for his hermana and primas back then.
They were lucky with this, since they were already unlucky enough in all other aspects of their lives.
Camilo bit the inside of his cheek, looking up to see everyone looking at each other. He met each of their eyes himself, seeing a glint in all of them—one that he intimately knew was reflected in his own—and understood instantly.
This was one of the perks of rooming together for years, of being each others’ main encouragement and support system everyday, of just being together through it all.
A single glance could hold an entire conversation.
They all want to get away.
No words needed to be said.
Camilo nodded at the same time as everyone else did, watching all his primas and hermana start shuffling towards a certain wall, and was about to do the same himself, when he found his hermanito reaching out and gently tugging Luisa’s skirt.
His prima mayor looked down at Antonio, who was biting his lips. “Toñito? What’s wrong?” She tenderly placed a hand on top of his own.
Antonio looked up at her, allowing Luisa to take his hand into her own. “Wouldn’t Mama, Papa, Tia, and Tios come looking for us?” he asked quietly, as if to make sure nobody else but them could hear his question, even when the party noise outside was already drowning everything else out.
Camilo couldn’t stop the snort that escaped him at his hermanito’s question. “Don’t think we have to worry about that, Toñio.” He sounded a bit too dismissive, maybe, but…well. A quick glance at the rest told him what they thought too.
Luisa kept staring at her youngest primo, an awkward smile slowly forming on her face as her eye twitched once. Dolores made a surprised, quiet but high pitched ‘Hm’ sound. Mirabel just winced, subconsciously rubbing her arm.
All of them already knew the answer to the question.
Isabela had snorted too, shaking her head as she placed a hand on the youngest’s head to gently ruffle it. “Milo’s right. They’ll be too busy entertaining the guests right now.”
Dolores nodded, stepping forward to stand next to her older prima, smiling at him gently as she took his other hand. “It’ll likely be a while before they try to find us.”
If they even would, Camilo found himself thinking, before blinking rapidly. Hey, no. No. No bad thoughts, stop thinking that, Milo.
Camilo swallowed. Everyone in the 3rd generation knew that their padres loved them. They always tried their best. They cared. They always cared.
It was just…their Mama and Tia and Tio were always seen, always perfect, always in the spotlight, rarely able to step away—if they ever stepped away at all.
Even Papa and Tio Agustin were seen in the light, despite them not having gifts themselves.
It was always how it was ever since then.
The Perfect Magical Triplets. Always seen. Always shining. Always perfect.
How could they step away from the light they’ve known every day to follow after the kids who had always been standing on the side, shrouded in darkness all their lives?
Camilo shook his head. Not something he wanted to think about right now.
He watched Antonio stare at them all for a moment longer, before slowly nodding at their words.
"Don't worry, Toñito. We'll be fine." Mirabel sent a gentle smile at her primo, the smile brightening a little when he gave a small, subdued smile back. Isabela went to ruffle his hair again as Luisa and Dolores chuckled quietly, both keeping a gentle but firm grip on his hands.
Camilo watched them, wanting to commit this moment to his memories forever.
Mirabel stared at them softly for another moment as well, before breathing out, her smile dropping slightly. She stepped right next to Camilo, bumping shoulders with him and gesturing towards a certain painting in the room. “To the den?”
Camilo chuckled wearily, lightly bumping her shoulder back. He looked at the rest of his primas and hermana and hermanito for a moment, all of them looking at the painting with tired and resigned eyes.
He turned back to the painting too, a quiet sigh escaping his lips. “To the den.”
Away from the light.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
asked my friend to choose a grandkid randomly and he had chosen camilo, so...camilo pov! WOOOO AHSFUAHf genuinely hope this is alright hehe
also, its not really clear, but the painting on the wall is still in the nursery, and behind said painting is the entrance to the walls, since i was thinking it might be hard for the kids to sneak to the painting past all the people there if it was outside and the party was still going on, plus easy access to the den yknow HAHAHA
but we can also still keep the painting entrance to the walls right next to dolores' room (or at least...where dolores' room should have been HASFUASUF) if you want hehe
but anyway yes, hope you enjoy AAAAAAAA <333
Away from the light NOOO COME BACK <\\\333
Not but. Mic coming in clutch with the peak writing as always??? Love this so much, no matter how sad it is <33
It does make me feel bad for the kids. I mean it's Antonio's literal birthday, but since he didn't get a gift (not that anyone was expecting him to at this point), he's not even the center of attention. The triplets are. And they know that, so they know they'll be fine in the walls just to get away. And how Antonio has to accept that fact 😭😭
AND? The fact that they know that no one will look for them for a hot minute and the fact that they can go to one of their many hiding places. Like bro 😭😭 someone give these guys a piece of cake and hug 💀💀 at least the dads are there for them. Most of the time \(;´□`)/
Tumblr media
Julieta meant so well, but in the end they still ended up unhappy in some way. And it's cause she never really got rid of the root of the problem: Alma's mentality

Mirabel's Super Secret Adventure
Movie AU
Chapter Preview: As the thought solidified in her mind, she heard a crackle, and the ground shifted beneath her feet. When she looked down, a crack had formed.
She stared at it.
Oh.
Prologue Prev Next Masterlist
6. Drawing a Blank
Mirabel spent the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out how to get Isabela to confess whatever secret she was hiding so she could tell her sister she loved her even if she was weird, and spoiled, and kinda stupid sometimes.
She thought about pursuing the mystery of the cracks some more, but she figured this thing with Isabela was more important. Besides, maybe if she spent more time around Isabela, she’d see more cracks and get another lead. She wasn’t abandoning her secret adventure, she was just waiting for new information.
Knocking on Isabela’s door didn’t make her magically appear, so Mirabel paced around the nursery a little, then laid down and stared at the ceiling. She dozed a bit, but woke herself up with thoughts of Isabela.
Mirabel rolled onto her side and stared at the empty bed that had previously held Antonio.
Nice as it was to have her own room again, she already missed her little buddy.
She stood, stretched, and left the nursery in search of Antonio. The natural place to start was his new room, and sure enough, when she knocked on the door she heard her own father invite her in.
Schooling in Encanto was getting increasingly complicated. They didn’t have formal teachers for anyone who wasn’t between the ages of six and thirteen, but they did have a fair number of people who knew enough about science, literature, history, or math to teach it. Mirabel, Camilo, and Amada were still technically in school, but that mostly just meant they were given weekly homework assignments and had the option to ask their “teachers” for help.
For anyone younger than six, people generally just taught their own kids. In the Madrigal family, Tío Bruno handled the alphabet and basic spelling, Tío Félix handled general things like the names of all the colors and reading a clock, and her Pá handled numbers and counting.
That’s what they were working on when Mirabel entered. Antonio was sitting on Agustín’s shoulders, concentrating on a family of capybaras.
“So, there’s more than four, what number comes after four?”
Antonio held up four fingers, then extended his thumb, he held his hand out for Agustín to see, “Cinco?”
“Sí! Bien!” Agustín wiggled himself so he could gently jostle Antonio, “Now, are there more than five capybaras?”
Antonio counted them off on his fingers, then shook his head, “No.”
“You’re right! Come on, let’s go count the birds next,” Antonio started walking, “hola Mira, anything I can help you with?”
“No, I was just missing my favorite primito,” Mirabel followed her father, wiggling her fingers up at Antonio.
He waved enthusiastically back, “We’re seeing how many animals are in my room!”
“Oh, wow, that’s a good idea. How many have you counted so far?”
“Um,” he looked at his hand, holding up all five fingers, then held up four fingers on his other hand, “this many?”
“And how many is that?”
“Nieve?”
“Ay, you’re so smart! Soon you’ll know more than Papá,” Mirabel enthused.
“True, then I’ll be out of a job,” Agustín joked.
“Your job is being a Tío,” Antonio said, leaning over Agustín’s head so he could look him in the eye.
“Oh? Is that right?”
“Mm-hm,” Antonio nodded, enthusiastically.
“I like that, that sounds like a great job,” he paused under a tree branch where a pair of toucans sat side by side, “Alright Tonito, how many?”
“Dos!”
“And that brings our total too?”
Antonio frowned as he ran out of fingers, “Umm…”
“Here, you can borrow some of my fingers,” Mirabel held up her hands, “how many do you need?”
“Just one for now,” Antonio put his hands next to Mirabel’s and stared at their collective fingers, then he whispered, “What comes after diez?”
“Once,” Mirabel whispered back.
“Once!” Antonio proudly repeated to Agustín.
“Very good,” he laughed, “nice use of teamwork.”
They started walking again in search of more birds, Mirabel taking the time to really look around the room now that it wasn’t filled with party goers. It was beautiful.
She felt a little pang of jealousy, despite her efforts to stamp it down. It was just-.
If Mirabel had gotten a room, she would want something light and airy like this. Maybe with giant spools of embroidery thread, and plenty of places for her to sit both with or without her family. She liked the mosaics in Luisa’s pool, and the garden in Isabela’s room, and the maze of caves in Tío Bruno’s room.
But she wasn’t going to get a room, because instead of that magic being used to give her a gift and her own room, it was stored away for a rainy day.
But, she was happy she had such an important job. She was proud of herself. Mirabel was fine.
She stopped walking.
Oh.
Mirabel was fine, Tía Pepa was fine, Isabela was fine, Dolores was fine, and Luisa was fine.
Or in other words, none of them were happy.
Mirabel wasn’t happy.
As the thought solidified in her mind, she heard a crackle, and the ground shifted beneath her feet. When she looked down, a crack had formed.
She stared at it.
Oh.
Her heart started beating in her ears. The cracks happened when they were unhappy. Whenever a crack appeared it was because a member of the family wasn’t ok.
How the hell was she supposed to fix that?!
Unhappiness happened! It was a part of life. Fine, ok, yes, if Mirabel was going to be honest with herself, she wasn’t happy that she was the miracle’s back up plan, she wasn’t happy she didn’t get her own room, and she definitely wasn’t happy being coddled the way Abuela always did.
But!
But she thought of the absolute trust in Antonio’s eyes as he held his hand out for her help, she thought of Octavia trying and failing to mold the earth into a statue of Mirabel after getting her gift, of Amada stomping her foot and demanding that Mirabel get the awesome gift she deserved. Mirabel thought about Tío Bruno saying how smart and mature she was, of Camilo risking Abuela’s ire to get Mirabel a day of freedom, even of the hug Isabela had given her earlier.
Mirabel wasn’t perfectly happy, but she was far from miserable. She was loved, she had people who cared about and supported her. No matter what else was going on in her life-.
The ground shifted again, and Mirabel looked down to see the crack was gone. The second part of the puzzle clicked into place.
The cracks appeared when they weren’t happy, but went away when they felt loved and supported.
So, why hadn’t the cracks in the wall gone away?
Dolores had said that the cracks used to open and close all the time, implying that it was only recently that the cracks had started sticking around. Why? What had changed?
“Miraboo?” her father called from somewhere beyond the bushes, reminding Mirabel where she was.
“Coming,” she called, racing towards her father’s voice, when she caught up with them she said, “sorry, sorry, I was just enjoying how pretty this place is.”
Antonio smiled proudly at that, and Mirabel was struck by how happy he always got whenever she complimented or praised him. Her opinion mattered to him. She mattered to him. It was something she already knew, but in light of her epiphany, it just fed her confusion.
Her thoughts still circled around the cracks even while she continued to help her Pá teach Antonio how to count. The Madrigals loved each other, a lot.
What sort of pain could be enough to overpower the love between them?
AN: I didn't want to spend too long letting Mirabel wonder how the cracks work, since we the audience already know, and instead have tried to make it believable that she would arrive at this conclusion without the house falling to pieces. Since everybody reading this already knows the major beats, this is more of a bomb under the table type story than a mystery.

Honestly just give any of your headcanons related to Pepa and Felix being adorable and head over heels for each other, especially the fact that (according to the junior novel) Camillo can’t stand when they get lovey-dovey in front of him alsjdhag
I’ve got quite a few! Gonna add in some family headcanons regarding Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio too for the fun of it as well :)
-Pepa and Félix are definitely the sort of mushy lovey-dovey couple that drive people nuts sometimes
-I don’t think it’s just Camilo who gets sick of them being so saccharine with one another but the whole house too, and it doesn’t take long before even Casita starts pushing them along the tiles to somewhere out of sight to continue their romance in private
-they never left the honeymoon phase - it’s only gotten stronger over time
-And I think all that lovey-dovey-ness lead to Antonio being a ‘happy accident’ so to speak
-Félix, excited for their third child: Pepi! Can you believe it? :D
-Pepa, who just turned 40 and thought her child rearing days were behind her:
Tumblr media
-Félix seems like the kind of person whose hardly phased by *anything,* and because of that I think he could handle scary stories and other horror genres very well
-Félix having a lovely time in a haunted house: Pepi, come look at this! They made this burning corpse look so realistic! :D
-Pepa: *unholy screaming*
-I think Camilo gets on his dad’s nerves the most because he’s such a little troublemaker (and sons just tend to annoy their dads more than their moms) and whenever he’s about to get in trouble he goes and acts especially sweet to his mom as a buffer
-Félix: Pepa, we need to talk about Camilo’s behavior
-Pepa, whose darling Angel son who could do no wrong just handed her a blanket and some tea five minutes ago: what do you mean? <:(
-Camilo and Antonio are probably just huge mama’s boys in general too, whereas Dolores is a papa’s girl
-Félix is definitely a Pun Dad and Dolores tells him all the lamest ones she’s heard from around town to drive the family nuts with
-Félix about to tell Pepa the same pun he’s told her every single time it’s foggy over the 25 consecutive years they’ve been married together: wow Pepa, sure seems like a *mist* opportunity, eh?
-Pepa:
Tumblr media
-Sometimes when she knows he’ll be away for awhile, Pepa dabs some of Félix’s cologne on her wrists to keep a part of him close by
-Pepa’s got a nervous stomach so she doesn’t eat much (as evident by her plate being the most bare during the breakfast scene), whereas Félix likes to snack quite a bit between meals (it gives him good energy throughout the day) so he always grabs extra to share with her
-Matching outfits. Always. It was Félix’s idea. Color coded and everything.
-Félix was very elated when Antonio was born because he looked just like him. One day, to surprise Félix, Pepa dressed Antonio up just like him and even painted on a fake beard and mustache. Félix laughed so hard he curled in on himself and was left a wheezing ball on the floor
-When he got older Félix had to get reading glasses. Pepa finds them very handsome. She thinks the same of the grey streak in his Afro too
-They both took time to learn how to take care of each other’s hair, and usually set aside some time in the mornings to do just that
-I think in their own ways they were both very lonely people before they met each other, so once they became a part of each other’s lives they hardly left each other’s sides - wherever one goes, the other is close to follow
-And then finally, this one will be relevant to future chapters in “You Are my Sunshine”: Félix is an excellent swimmer but Pepa? Not so much. She knows the dog paddle and that’s it. So whenever the opportunity to go swimming comes up she won’t get too far in the water unless she knows Félix is going to be there too
Ok that’s everything for now, thank you for the ask! 🧡💛🌥💛🧡

Headcanons for Bruno and Camilo?
Ah yes my favorite duo, Bastard Idiot²
Bruno: I have this headache that comes and goes
Camilo: I'm home!
Bruno, fondly: There it is
• At first, Camilo was standoffish toward Bruno. Not mean or rude or even outright avoiding him, just not... close. He would keep his distance from him and watch him from afar, speaking to him sparingly and rarely being the one to instigate the conversation. Bruno, though a bit hurt at his nephews apprehension, understood and didn't ever try to push Camilo to try and interact with him, keeping his distance but still finding immense joy in making the boy smile and laugh whenever he did talk to him.
• Though it takes a while, when the ice between them breaks, it shatters. Camilo- who could only remember his tío as a looming prophet sorcerer that would send his demonic rats to harass those who crossed him -is now baring witness to said tío hunkering down behind the threshold of the kitchen with a grin only a devious little brother could possess, eyes fixated on Julieta. Realizing he's being watched, Bruno asks Camilo if he wants to help him prank her and Camilo nods without a second thought, following his directions to distract her while Bruno switches the sugar for her coffee with an identical salt shaker while her back is turned.
They both got scolded and lost dessert privileges after dinner, but seeing the two of them lean on one another so they wouldn't fall over laughing at her washing her mouth out did make Julieta smile.
• That day marked the day that hell itself came into the Madrigal home because, now that the tension between them was gone in an afternoon like it hadn't been there in the first place, Camilo gained access to over thirty years worth of information and insight on prank planning and general mischief. And who better a source than his uncle who can make sure they almost never get caught by looking into the future for potential holes in the plan? Those two wouldn't see sweets after dinner for months
• They definitely put on plays together. Bruno is the script writer and director while Camilo is the acting coach and co-director. The rats acting prowess has greatly improved with Camilo leading them through the stage directions by turning into each character and showing the rats how it's all done, elated when they copy him to the best of their ability. Though he still doesn't like them in his clothes or to hold them for long, the rats adore Camilo, but when Antonio told him that they've labeled him their forth favorite person, Bruno really really tried not to laugh at the absolute heartbreak and betrayal on his face at the news. Tried.
• Camilo, if he isn't preoccupied with something else, tends to follow after Bruno. Bruno can figure that Camilo is studying him for his shape shifting, matching the way he walks and the way he moves his hands when he talks, but sometimes Camilo really does follow Bruno around for the sake of just following his tío around. He's curious of him after so long, especially when his most vivid memory of him doesn't match up at all, and asks him questions that Bruno answers often without looking at him, mostly because Camilo likes to follow him about when he had other things to do
• Referring to the above, Camilo's favorite time to bother spend time with his uncle is when he's in his room. Bruno meditates and takes time looking uselessly through the idle future to avoid getting prophecy headaches (a habit he had to push himself to take back up) and Camilo just loves to flop his way through the swirling sand dome and plop himself down right next time and watch the green flashes of nothing and everything, absolutely in awe by it all. Bruno ~begrudgingly~ lets him stay so long as he promises to be quiet and let him focus and Camilo swears he will, but they always end up having an idle conversation about the bits and pieces of the visions. Hey, Bruno said he had to be quiet, not completely silent.
Camilo: Tío, can I come in?
Bruno: No
Camilo, pushing through the sand dome: Thanks, love you
Despite the poor job he does pretending to be oh so "annoyed" with Camilo's presence, Bruno's heart tugs with immeasurable happiness and relief to see the way Camilo's eyes sparkle with interest and almost glee watching the swirling visions, rather than the fear and unease he had sung about before
• Camilo still does the "Scary Bruno" for children who are too young to be truthfully frightened by the tales of old "Bad Luck Bruno." He was afraid at first that it would put a strain on their relationship when Bruno found out, but Bruno, after setting aside the initial knee jerk fear, joked about how he only wished that the "seven foot frame" was a reality. Bruno doesn't care if Camilo pulls out the scary face for a couple of kids that run off screaming with smiles on their faces, but still, Camilo always makes sure to reassure the children that that version of his tío is just a story. The real guy is just some sweet old dude that hangs out with cute rats and eats sand all day (which often prompts another Madrigal to insist that Bruno, at the very least, doesn't willing eat sand)
• The funny thing is that while "Scary Bruno" doesn't phase him much, the first time Camilo shifted into him how he actually is, Bruno just about had a heart attack

Some of my "Grown Up" Encanto Headcanons
I told you guys I would get you more headcanons so here we go, all the grown-ups!
General
There is very little definition in Cool Kids versus Warm Kids, just Weather Mom vs Cooking Mom. All these adults will comfort any child in the way they can.
They don't have Favorites, just ones that they end up comforting/relating to the easiest.
All the 50 yr olds are super close. Like, they would hang out on the weekends just because close.
Abuela
She thinks of all these adults as her kids. Her sons-in-law were just later additions.
Has never gotten over the Single Mom of Three mentality of "if I hear a thump it's fine, if I hear a thump and crash it's less fine, if I hear a thump and screaming it's Not Fine, if I hear a thump and silence something is Very Wrong".
Absolutely peeks into people's rooms sometimes to be sure they're okay. Especially Bruno now that he's back.
Was an absolute worrywort whenever someone got sick pre-Julieta. Like, very comforting and doting.
IS the entire criminal justice system of the Encanto.
Follows the old school "don't get caught" way of getting back at someone that has wronged someone else. Says "be the bigger person" and hands Camilo a bat at the same time.
Julieta
Cooks everything with Loooveeeeee~.
The parent that rolls with everything. Oh? Camilo is "Juan" today? Well tell "Juan" he better come have dinner. Oh? Dolores is nowhere to be found? Well let's hope these COOKIES DON'T SUDDENLY GO MISSING FROM THE COUNTER.
Was the tiebreaker triplet. Not meaning she was the peacekeeper, because they all took turns with that, but she would cast the deciding vote.
Has a very corny sense of humor. Like, Pepa and Bruno learned how to roll their eyes specifically because Julieta isn't funny but she's so earnest you have to laugh.
Graceful to a fault. Could balance twelve plates on her person and walk a tightrope just fine. She just married clumsy.
Her confidence is purely from age. She was not confident as a kid.
Pepa
Was very sad to not get to share the nursery anymore. What do you mean she spends her entire life with those two and now they live in different rooms? No.
Random pile of blankets spotted around the house? A Pepa nest, do not disturb for she may be in it.
The fastest to anger triplet. Anytime she saw someone in town even remotely being mean to another Madrigal she nipped it in the bud with a glance. Not even because of the weather, just because she's spicy.
The worst at offering comforting words so the best to go to if you just want to be held and rocked, you're never too old in Pepa's eyes.
Has anxiety but is actually really rational. But when your every emotion is on display it doesn't matter how rational you are, people call you emotional.
Feels bad every time a regular storm passes through the Encanto because she can't really stop it.
Bruno
The funny triplet. His jokes are hit or miss but his method of comfort is 'lightening the mood'.
Was terrified he'd break and drop Isabela but by the time Camilo rolls around he was an absolute pro. Very sad he never got to hold Antonio.
Would do plays and performances for the sobrinos. And let them participate if they wanted to. (Was the best story reader for a similar reason.)
Has a backup ruana because the sobrinos would steal it with the hood up and say "No, I'm Bruno," then give each other futures. (Like, 'you'll have a papaya with breakfast' or 'you're going to give me all your cookies'.)
Mirabel is his favorite, but he loves all of them. Has a special connection to the Big Kids because he helped raise them, but wants to connect to the Little Kids since he feels like he missed a lot.
Don't want to talk about why you're sad? Go sit with Bruno and hear childhood triplet stories or him read a book in a silly voice.
Agustín
People thought he was getting hurt on purpose to hang out with Julieta every day for months before he figured out he liked her. He's just clumsy.
Julieta thinks his glasses are cute and he always wonders if maybe that's why he still needs them. (Not in a resentful way, just a cutesy way.)
Cooks for Julieta whenever he can. Is actually a really good cook and less accident-prone in Casita's kitchen.
Camilo tried to eat his glasses multiple times as a baby. Agustín doesn't bring it up but still has a soft spot for him because of it.
Taught all the kids piano but Luisa took to it the best. He misses having her sit on his lap and pretend to play.
Asks Isabela for a new shirt flower every day, because it started mostly cute and at this point if he didn't ask she would think he's dying.
Félix
Kid: Saw this redheaded girl sobbing in a field, asked why she was sitting in the rain and didn't understand why she looked so mad at him. Teen: Oh! That's why she was so mad. Adult: If I don't marry this woman my life has been for nothing.
Absolutely charmed Abuela and Julieta while he was starting to date Pepa because he knew he couldn't without their permission. Also tried to be nice to Bruno but was pretty sure Bruno hated him (spoiler: Bruno did not.)
Chastises the kids the most because they know Pepa has a bleeding heart and unless it's Really Serious they can get away with it.
Used to dance with all the nietas, letting them step on his feet and never letting them know it hurt.
He and Agustín made a good team because together they had music and dance. They're also bros.
ABSOLUTELY tells every story like it was amazing and Pepa is pointing out what went wrong but Félix is just beaming like "okay so?"
Next up will probably be the Warm Siblings, then finally the Cool Sisters! 🤔I haven't really decided yet!

Encanto headcanons part 6 bc I'm too weak to stop (pls tell me to shut up)
- Camilo got the blame for all the food Bruno and Dolores stole
- He's still mad about
- "I TOLD YOU IT WASNT ME"
- Agustín is the kinda person who'll put their glasses on their head and forget and just ask everyone if they'd seen them
- Luisa would be honest with him, camilo would definitely only tell him after he's managed to get something from him
- "I can tell you where they are for an extra helping of dinner"
- Antonio sometimes tries to talk to his animals like they do, as in he'll growl and hope he's actually saying something and not just making a noise
- Agustín never knows what's going on during films, and always asks questions
- Julieta will just feed him food to shut him up or whisper answers super quietly (there's no inbetween)
- Out of the kids, Luisa and Mirabel tend to get the most invested
- Isabela, Dolores and Camilo are just enjoying the moment
- Antonio will be all for it if it's about animals, but usually falls asleep before the end
- Antonio is a big David Attenborough fan (who isn't tbf)
- Although when watching his documentaries he's like NO THATS NOT WHAT THE ANIMALS ARE SAYING
- Bruno and Félix: "let's what a movie!"
- Also Bruno and Félix: *falls asleep as soon as it starts*
- Mirabel knits winter wear for everyone
- Julieta very very rarely holds a grudge against anybody
- But when she does, good luck waiting for her to get over it, bc that'll take YEARS
- They're usually aimed at childhood bullies, or those who upset her family
- When the triplets have to decide on who's going to do something none of them want to do they play Rock Paper Scissors
- It happens more often than you'd think
- They can stand there for ages trying to change the results
- "Best of three" "shit, okay best of five"
- Félix and Agustín timed them once, and the longest they did it for was over 20 minutes
- If you're wondering who won, it was Pepa and Bruno
- Félix, Agustín, Bruno, Camilo and Antonio have a Guys™️ day
- Except it just consists of camilo and Antonio pulling pranks on the other three or just winding them up in general
- Slapsies is one of Mirabel's favourite games to play with her elder cousins
- Mainly bc she's quick and therefore very good at it
- Isabela is not, and she hates it
- Antonio isn't allowed to play bc nobody wants to hurt him
- Camilo is just a bitch ass cheat and runs away when he plays so he can't play it either so it's really just Mirabel and her Tío Félix who play
- Antonio's first word was papa
- Guess what the mama's boy's first word was!
- When they were really young Mirabel and Camilo would wear raincoats and rain hats and wellies and demand Pepa to make it rain so they could jump in puddles
- Antonio is always followed by a load of animals wherever he goes
- Antonio was also a really big papas boy, crying whenever anybody else held him
- They tried to test if it would work with Camilo shifted as Félix but Antonio just knew and screamed bloody murder
- When he shifts, camilo's bones and ligmants etc break and change to create the body hes recreating and whilst it's hardly noticeable to him anymore (another reason he eats a lot) Dolores can hear it happen and she hates it
- Bruno has seen how everyone will die and when, and it traumatised him
- He's also seen modern technology, he's the most tech savvy I refuse to believe otherwise
- Camilo and Bruno LOVE old Hollywood movies
- And the way they found out they shared that love was when Bruno just randomly quoted that line Jimmy Stewart says "This is the voice of Doom calling" after giving someone a vision
- Camilo is like :O "BRUNO MADRIGAL YOU HAVE UNSUSPECTED DEPTH" (if you get the quote I love you!)
- They've also been trying to master that transatlantic accent, with little success
- They like to use the accent and do impressions of OH actors to cheer each other up
- Bruno's go to is usually Bogie ("here's looking at you kid.") whilst camilo's go to is usually Jimmy Stewart ("The same people seldom come back; but that's envy, my dear. There's a little bit of envy in the best of us.")
- If they get into an argument "well excusez-moi monsieur hot shit"
- Félix and Agustín are the Fun™️ uncles, who absolutely get involved in all the kids stupid shit
- Prank war? They're on it, and they're committed!
- Hiding evidence? Don't worry, Félix and Agustín have your back!
- Wanna sneaky cup of alcohol? Agustín is pouring it now! Don't tell abuela!
- Antonio is vegetarian
- He's also an eco warrior, he doesn't allow anything that can be reused or recycled to go to waste
- And only wears handmade clothes or hand me downs
- Contrary to popular opinion, Bruno can hold his own in a fight. It's rare it comes to that but if necessary he certainly can kick ass
- He's a pacifist by nature but he's abuela's son, and she didn't raise no bitch
- Despite Antonio making sure Bruno's rats aren't eaten, they're incredibly wary around him
- I imagine there was once an incident were the madrigals where at some wedding and halfway through the ceremony little Antonio is suddenly like "FUCK"
- The kids are in creases, deceased with laugher
- Pepa and Félix try so hard not to laugh
- Julieta and Agustín are trying to hold it together but everyone can see they're laughing
- Abuela is like "oh dear god" and is apologising profusely
- When Antonio begins chanting it, Félix has to pick him up and take him outside whilst apologising through tears of laughter

Family Bonding - A Family That Plays Together
Takes place after the Encanto has been rebuilt.
Luisa edged along the upper level of the encanto, eyes darted from left to right as she tried to catch a glimpse of any of her family members.
She had a feeling like a belt across her chest as she tried to keep her breathing level. While doing this she berated herself, it was a simple game of Hide And Seek, for goodness sake, nothing to worry about! The only reason she was seeking in the first place was because there were limited places for a women of her generous proportions to hide - unless she emptied an aguardarropa* or something. [And the clothes everywhere would be a dead giveaway to everyone]
She heard giggling and stopped dead, straining her ears to identify it. A second voice shushed the first, which just caused the first to giggle even more. Luisa smiled as she recognised Antonio and Mirabel's voices.
"¡Antonio, nos escuchará!*" She heard Mirabel hiss.
Smiling Luisa headed over to a pair of massive plant pots which her family members were hidden behind. With something of a flourish she lifted them both up [one in each hand] and smiled at her sister and youngest cousin. "¡Te encontré!*" She declared.
Mirabel rolled her eyes and said, mock-annoyedly to Antonio. "I told you to be quiet!"
Antonio giggled and shrugged.
"Come on." Luisa said, picking Antonio up and putting him on her shoulders. "Let's find the others."
By 'the others' she meant Camillo and Mariano. Mariano having been guilted into playing with them by Antonio's puppy dog eyes.
"Camillo will probably be in plain sight." Luisa said, thoughtfully, wishing the tight feeling in her chest would go away. "As for Mariano he's quite tall. Maybe a wardrobe or something?"
Mirabel nodded and Antonio giggled.
They searched for another fifteen minutes before a soft. "Hey." Caught there attention and they saw Tío Bruno walking towards them. Despite having lived with them for over a year now, he was still quite jittery and didn't seem to like making direct eye contact. Pepa and Julieta had assured them this behaviour was normal for him. "Are you looking for Mariano?"
The children nodded.
Bruno nodded then "The pictures crooked." He said, randomly, before gliding past them.
Luisa stared after him in confusion, wondering [not for the first time] if there was a possibility he was on the Autistic Spectrum. There was a silence then Mirabel suddenly grabbed her sisters arm and said, excitedly. "The tunnels!" And she ran of at the speed of light, Luisa following her.
They made it to the picture that Bruno was talking about, the one that allowed the easiest access to the tunnels. Mirabel lifted Antonio up so he could push the picture aside and a crumpled and slightly dusty Mariano grinned at them. "Ah, you found me!" He said, in mock outrage.
Antonio giggled and patiently waited for Mariano to un-curl himself before hugging him.
"Who's left?" Mariano asked, clapping his hands together.
"Camilo."
Mariano gave an grin and said, mysteriously. "Oh, I think I know where he is. Follow me!" And he led them all back down the stairs, passing Alma as they did so.
"Last I saw him he was in here." Mariano explained, as he guided them into the kitchen. He stopped dead, Luisa was temporarily confused before she saw exactly what had made him stop.
Dolores and Mariano were in the kitchen, having just been in the middle of having a laugh.
Luisa rolled her eyes and pushed the other Marianio's shoulders. "Te encontré*." She said, flatly.
The other Mariano shrugged and turned back into Camilo. "Worth a shot." He said, grinning widely. "And YOU-" He pointed at Mariano accusingly. "Were meant to be playing with us!"
"I was." Mariano agreed. "But then Dolores asked me for some help. Sorry - maybe next time though?"
Camilo rolled his eyes. "I'll hold you to that." He said, warningly.
*Wardrobe
*Antonio, she'll hear us!
*I found you!
*Found you

Potentially Problematic, part 1
This is part one to my Encanto Fanfiction. This fanfiction puts Leah, my OC, with Camilo. They are both 15, so smut is not happening. That being said, dirty jokes and sexual-ish references might be made because they are quite literally teenagers, and you all know Camilo (if not, this includes spoilers to Encanto, so if you haven’t seen that please don’t read ahead :D) This fanfiction will (mostly) follow the plot of the movie, despite some minor changes and little headcanons of mine. Any words in spanish will have their english translations beside them for anyone who doesn’t speak spanish.

^ Leah in chapters 1-4
Tags: mostly just setting up the story in this chapter,
“MAMá! she’s touCHING ME AGAIN” Arlo yelled, shoving his foot against his older sister’s chest to push her away.
“It’s called a hug, you GOBLIN” Leah said sharply, hitting his shoulder, crossing her arms and looking away to the side.
“Leave your brother alone, Leah. This is the third time this car ride he’s yelled for my help” Their mom, Jezebel sighed, tiredly steering into the next lane over, turn signal beeping as Arlo stuck his pink tongue out at Leah.
“You’re lucky mom's here, or you’d be forced to love me” She muttered, staring daggers into his narrowed eyes, his mouth turned down into a scowl.
~
“STOP THE CAR” Leah shouted abruptly, and Jezebel slammed the brakes given they were the only ones to be seen for miles. Before her mom could get an explanation, Leah jumped out of the car, earning a sigh from Arlo as she bent down on the side of the road, distracted completely by something as her mom called her back. She came skipping back into her seat, hands clasped over that little something as she closed the car door, letting her mother start back again.
“ANOTHER ‘pretty’ rock?” Arlo looked over her shoulder curiously, making her smile and open her hands, a small, circular shape.
“Nope. A frog!” Leah said excitedly, presenting the figure to her little brother. He visibly shuddered, scooching as far away as his seatbelt would let him and pushing Leah’s hands away, the frog squeaking in his general direction. Leah smiled, her white hair fluffy from the wind outside.
“Mamá, Leah’s got a-”
“She’s got something that’ll keep her from hugging you again, honey. Take the break”
“Mamá!” Leah exclaimed.
~
“Yes, a large coffee please? double double.” Jezebel spoke into the drive-in speaker. “Kids, anything you want? This’ll be the last stop untill we get to Julieta’s” She added at the end, eyes mostly on Arlo, considering Leah’s had three sugary sweet drinks already, any more would ensure she spends tonight sleepless. Leah took Arlo’s “no” as a cue for more begging.
“Do they have something for frogs? Or maybe another lemonade? Please mamá, Gerard looks sad, maybe he’s hungry. A cookie, at least?” Question after another falling out of her mouth, and Jezebel pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Make that extra large” She added before pulling up to the window to pay, leaving Arlo laughing at his sister’s failed attempt.
“Don’t make me shove this frog up your nose” Leah threatened, rolling her eyes and petting Gerard’s back, letting him settle on her thigh.
~
“Julieta” Jezebel sighed in relief as she climbed out of  the black van she’s been stuck in for 13 hours with her kids. “Anything for a headache?” She joked.
The older woman, Julieta, ran giggling from the house to hug her friend as Leah and Arlo hopped out of the car. The three were led inside and surrounded by people of all ages, some dressed in orange and some in blue coming to inspect their guests. Leah trailed in last, bag slung on her shoulder and her hand curled protectively over Gerard. She saw a yellow blur run upstairs and heard a door close before sounds crowded her senses.
Jezebel took most of the attention, as both Leah and Arlo shyed away. Questions were asked and answered, left and right, and people stared.
~
For sleeping arrangements, Arlo was put in the room of a five year old Antonio, much to his discontent, but that feeling died down apparently when he saw the interior to the room. Leah was put in the nursery with a nice girl named Mirabel, who wore green glasses and embroidered cute decals on her deep blue skirt. She was estatic to have someone her own age in the room with her, someone she could possibly be friends with. Leah understood this desperation, but couldn’t see where Mirabel learned it. For all she knew, Mirabel was in a magical and loving home, with two older siblings and three cousins. Their house was so full, you’d think nobody could ever be lonely.
Mirabel took the time to explain everyone’s magical powers, a concept Leah was having trouble grasping to. Tía Pepa, Mirabel’s aunt, could control the weather with her mood. When she was upset, or confused, it would rain. Happy, sunshine. Excited, rainbow. Angry, or scared, hurricane. Tío Bruno didn’t get an explanation, only Pepa kicking down the door yelling “We don’t taLK ABOUT BRUNO”, leaving Gerard speaking and stamping his foot on the dresser he was on. Mirabel loved explaining her mother, it seemed. She spoke with such love and admiration when she talked about how she could heal you with a meal. Leah had heard mostly about this from her mom, but wanted desperatley to keep everyone in check, so took the information gladly. Next were the kids, Mirabel explained them with a slight rythym, drumming a pencil on her knee as both girls were sat in their respective beds. Mirabel’s cousin, Dolores, could hear a pin drop, Camilo could shapeshift, and Antonio got his gift, communicating with animals, only yesterday, and his ceremony resulted in a lot of feelings according to Mirabel. Next were her siblings. She explained one, Luisa, with great fondness, and the other, Isabella, with... Well, she spat her name like it tasted bad on her tongue. Isabella could spawn nature and flowers at will, and Luisa had great strength, though Leah could easily tell that by the brawn on that girl.
Dinner played out later, and Leah got to meet everyone. Augustín, Julieta’s husband, was pretty clumsy, kept dropping his fork and falling out of his chair. Maybe it was just nerves, Leah thought, as she was feeling pretty much the same way in her head. Félix, Pepa’s husband, was maybe the nicest man you could meet. She could see where his kids got their manners from. Pepa had a small cloud over her head the entire meal, glancing nervously over to an empty chair next to Isabela’s and running her fingers through her hair, muttering under her breath. Only two of her kids were at the table, Julieta cleared that up with a “where’s Camilo?” directed to the general area. Everybody shrugged, and Dolores looked pointedly to his room, but the dinner went on. Julieta’s patatas bravas (spicy potatoes) were amazing, Leah ate them without giving time to cool, though that wasn’t a problem as they soothed the burns that trailed down her throat only moments later. After everyone finished eating, she helped Julieta wash the dishes, despite the woman telling her she was okay doing it herself.
Dishes washed and put away, sun down, everyone was put to bed at around 10 o'clock. Leah got dressed into a grey t-shirt and some light pink pajama shorts, letting her hair down from the high ponytail it's been in all day, and passed out when her head hit the pillow.
yES ik this is already posted on AO3 but I thought I should post it here too lol anyways
