Mirabel knew she needed answers if she was going to save the miracle. When Luisa runs away from her after breakfast, she thinks about what Dolores said and decides she's going to talk to the rats. AKA, she's going to talk to Antonio and he can talk to the rats for her. This drastically changes her day.

Do you have any headcanons about that "Bruno Madrigal is Carlos de Vil's father" AU?

A couple!

When Carlos turned five, a door turned up in Casita but it was blocked off. Everyone knew that must mean that Bruno had a child, but they couldn't find any information on them

Bruno didn't know about Cruella's pregnancy, as their relationship was very short lived. Even after she had Carlos, he didn't suspect.

It wasn't until Carlos was almost five that Bruno found out, and it was only by chance.

In some AU's, Carlos stays with Cruella

In others, Bruno fights Cruella and takes Carlos.

Bruno's powers still work on the Isle, so he's able to make somewhat of a living on the magical side of the Isle.

In that au, Carlos grows up less fearful. He does still end up in Mal's crew

When Carlos ends up in Auradon, he seeks out his family

Antonio accepts him first, as he's the first to meet him, but no one has any trouble

Pepa and Julieta barely let go of him, and Alma almost cries, because Carlos is apart of Bruno

He's the only Madirgal to open his door as a teenager.

That's all I've come up with. I haven't thought about what his gift would be, probably something to do with electronics.

What do the other giant sirens or the madrigals think of the human kid being there, I know pepas cool, but what about the others mainly alma since yknow she hates humans and Isabela, Dolores don't like them either

Why do the giant sirens protect human kids from the adult humans, abuse, danger or just from becoming like them and when they take the kids from the shore, what do they do with them?

What happened in Antonio's pirate incident in the first chapter of the story

Can we see the giant sirens or giant madirgal sirens HUNTING I'd love to see them in action!!!

Also this is just the first part of the we don't talk about Bruno song but for we don't talk about alma lol just how I imagined the lyrics

The other Madrigal actually don’t mind. Typically they’d be wary, especially Alma, but not in the case of a child. Julieta and Pepa especially like to dote on him, and Camilo and Mirabel take him to go play with the other guppies in the grotto. Alma doesn’t hate the idea of him being there. If anything, she’s just nervous about him being around such larger beings, and he’s so small, and she knows that human children are far less usable than guppy children. Isabela and Dolores like him enough, they think he’s cute, and much like Luisa, harmless.

Giant sirens take little kids mostly because they fear the smaller humans will turn into bigger humans. And bigger humans are bad people. So, their logic is, take the kid, and raise the kid like a guppy. That way they can still be safe around humans. Actually, when I first started this AU, there was an idea I had where there was a village on the Encanto Island. So, taking that idea, the kids taken from shore over the course of the years were then placed on the main island of Encanto Islands. There's something of a village there, so there was two communities; the giant siren one, and the human one. The humans were raised by sirens, so they essentially are allies. There's no beef between these specific (special kind of) humans, only outsiders.

Also what happened to pirate. That is entirely up to you <33 I left it pretty open ended, mostly because I didn't have an idea, but I also. Just wanted that cliff hanger. If anything, Antonio likely would've harassed him for more food and ate him out if house and home before dragging him to either the Grotto or the village.

AND LET ALMA LIVE1!!!!11 not but. Def try and play it off but like. Alma was stressing for no reason 😭 Felix ain't gaf, and Agustín was playing along the whole time. Question is who would've asked about Alma??? Like would Mirabel still ask, or is she too busy as the leader and someone else asks. Or maybe just the younger grandkids who don't remember her. Idk.

He had already made it all the way down the stairs and almost there, when he heard his Tía getting ready to leave the kitchen. It had been a rainy day and he knew if he was caught sneaking around the courtyard of the Casita, she would send him up back to his room so he wouldn’t catch a cold. This mission was too important to be compromised now, and he sent some of the rat friends around the house into the kitchen as a distraction, quietly apologizing when he heard the woman scream. Quickly, he rushed himself into the reading room on the first floor, and made3 a quick surprise of jumping up and hugging the sole occupant of the room.

With a startle and rumble of thunder, Pepa yelped, “Toñito!? What are you doing here??”

“It’s raining! You always feel better when I hug you!” He told her, and the woman burst into a hug smile, rain clearing up as she brought the boy in for an even tighter hug.

You're Bruno's child. You were born shortly before Bruno disappeared. Your mother was too weak to survive the labor and Bruno knew about it. Although he was heartbroken, he was very happy to have you.

Unfortunately, due to seeing the prophecy with Mirabel and broken Casita and for your safety, he decided to disappear. It broke his heart to leave you but he knew he had to.

That's how you grew up without the father. It was sad but you had other family.

But it doesn't mean that you were loved as a child should. Due to you being Bruno bloods and owning...dark gift, you were often ignored and isolated.

Your gift ceremony was a secret. Alma couldn't wait any longer and during the night, she woke you up and took you to your door. There you touched the candle, and then the doorknob. On the door appeared an older version of you, with a creatures behind you, like a shadows.

Alma was scared. And when your family discovered what had happened, they complained to Alma and took a pity in you.

But you didn't care. At this point you turned apathetic to some things and that was one of them. Why should you care?

The next day, you found out that you had a shadow knight protecting you. When you were in your new room at night, you couldn't sleep and wished to have someone there with you. And just like that, that someone had appeared. It was a tall, shadow figure, with an armor and bright yellow eyes.

On a contrary, you weren't scared. You always were drawn to shadows. You were raised in the shadow of your family so maybe that's why you've got such a gift? To truly become a shadow.

Since that day, the knight was with you everyday. During daytime, he couldn't be seen, because he blended with your shadow. During nighttime, he appeared in his psychical form an spend time with you.

You were a quiet, emotionless and apathetic child. You didn't like to socialized and often stayed in your room for days. Your room have everything you needed. It was a open room, with big bed and almost 360 view on the night sky. The star constellations could be seen and moon was high in the sky, which was synchronized with the moon outside your room.

Fun fact: no one has ever been in your room.

Mirabel was the only one who tried to talk to you. She was extremely concerned for your being. It was like...you truly never existed. There's no photos of you, your doors disappears when you want it to and she, and other Madirgal's are lucky to even catch a glimpse of you. Whenever she saw you, she greeted you friendly and tried to talk to you, but you always ignored her and disappeared in the shadows.

Antonio's gift ceremony, you watched from the shadows. You didn't went to his room and soon after he opened the door, you went back to your room.

One of the birds told Antonio that you were watching him, and the child was so excited, he tried to look for you but you were already gone. The truth was, Antonio didn't even know how you looked like. He knew you were somewhere there and was honestly sad that he couldn't meet you.

He and Mirabel talked about you a lot. In secret of course. Mirabel told him about your situation and showed him that there was nothing to be afraid of.

You were just misunderstood and alone.

And Bruno watched it all, with broken heart.

Encanto spoilers ahead, read at your own risk!!

So I watched Encanto on Friday when it came out on Disney+ and I don’t know if I’m the only one who wants this, but I would love to hear a reprised/altered version of “Welcome to the family Madirgal” that painted a more “accurate” portrayal of the family.

⬇️ Encanto spoilers below! ⬇️

What I mean by this is that I want to see a version that would have likely been sung post-movie, maybe like some weeks or months after Casita is rebuilt where some of the family members verses have been changed/fixed.

So for example:

I think Abuela Alma’s verse would be changed to probably point out her past controlling nature first, but then mention how she’s working to “loosen the reigns” on the family. To point out how she’s working to allow her families imperfections to actually shine through.

Next, Bruno’s verse would obviously have to be changed from portraying him as this “scary” figure, to maybe saying along the lines of, “his gift may seem scary, but he’s an amazing Tío!”. He deserves to be portrayed as the kind and awkward man - who loves his rats and his family - he is! 💕

Isabela’s and Luisa’s verses would both be tweaked.

I think Isabela’s would be changed to portray how she’s not really the perfect “golden child” that everyone believed she was. Instead I think it would portray her as a normal 22 year old who loves growing funky plants, and dying her clothes fun colours!

And I think Luisa’s verse should 100% bring to light that she’s more than just brute strength. Like yes, she’s strong and enjoys weight lifting and such, but that’s not her entire personality. She also likes unicorns and hugs and can help others in so many other ways than just heavy lifting.

Of course Antonio’s verse would change from stating he’s getting his gift to explaining what his gift is. I think maybe there would also be mention of his shyness, but that’s not too necessary to his verse

And lastly I think that the whole bit of Mirabel avoiding talking about herself would be replaced by her entire family singing about Mirabel! I think it would be really sweet to have a whole section of the song actually including Mirabel in the family and having her family describe her similarly to the last few lines from “All of you”.

I think Mira deserves to be included in a way that doesn’t portray her as “the odd one out” or “not as special as the others” just because she doesn’t have a “gift” like the others. Similarity, Bruno’s verse should stop portraying him as some scary and forbidden figure, and actually portray him as the loving uncle who adores his family, rats, and acting who’s more than just his gift.

I’m not sure if Pepa, Julieta, Augustine, Félix, Dolores, or Camilo would have much room for verse changes, but if anyone can think of something then I’m all ears!

How about this. I understand the idea of giving Camilo an identity crisis, but in my opinion, that’s predictable, boring and bland. Instead, how about we contrast him with Mirabel.

I pointed out the lack of teens in the encanto and how none of the madirgals had any friends. So we change this. Camilo has a group of friends in the encanto, but due to his duties and responsibilities, he’s not able to hang out with them much.

Let’s say during Antonio’s ceremony we see a group of teenagers calling Camilo over, but he has to geeet all the guests and help set up so he can’t hang out with them even though he wants to. And then we see Camilo hanging with a group of people, but Abuela calls him over because someone needs help and he has to leave.

This shows how Camilo isn’t able to be his age or act his age because he has so much responsibility put on him as a madrigal. And I know plenty people can relate to not being able to hang out with friends because they have certain responsibilities at home or being treated as older than their age.

We can tie in an identity crisis as well, with Camilo believing that he has to be a madrigal over Camilo and how he ties his Shapeshifting abilities into being a madrigal and not Camilo when all he wants to be is Camilo.
