Does no one actually pay attention to the words they read or ????
How do you think the citizen of the night court exists in near dark all the time, how do you think they grow food, or how do you think elain grows a garden if there is no sunlight??? Please tell me
Rhys literally explains how the courts work in the first quarter of ACOMAF. The solar courts obey the laws of nature and the sun just like every other court. The seasonal courts are perpetually that season due to the High Lords magic.

For the love of god, please stop putting Elain’s arc on Azriel! It’s NOT about HIS choice. It IS about HERS. Elain, who has had every decision made for her. Elain who has never gotten to voice what she wanted. Elain, who’s own mother used her as a pawn to wed off one day so they could live well.
ELAIN’S ARC IS ABOUT MAKING A CHOICE FOR HERSELF. 👏👏👏
There is no love triangle between Elain, Az, and Gwyn. There is no love square between them three and Lucien. It is Elain’s love triangle between Az and Lucien. Her choice between what the Cauldron shoved at her or what she truly wants.
Ship whoever you want. But stop changing the narrative that the next book is about Azriel picking between two women (because really? Ew.).

I have a hard time believing that Eluciens and Gwynriels truly think that this is how Elain's story will go:
Elain in WaR: *wants Grayson, despite her mating bond to Lucien*
Grayson: "You belong to him"
Elain: I belong to no one. But my heart belongs to you."
Feyre: "You couldn't say a single word to him? A pleasant greeting? He brought you a present."
Elain: "And that entitles him to my time, my affections?"
Elain in the bonus chapter: *Wants Azriel, gets him a gift, wants to kiss him, is aroused by him. Yes. Offer and permission.*
Rhys to Azriel: Anyone could've seen you, including her mate...You will leave Elain alone. Stay away from her."
Elain in Acotar 5: I guess all these people ordering me around and stripping away my agency were right all along. I should've just listened to them, they know better what is good and right for me. Guess I'll just get with Lucien! He did get me a gift after all. And he deserves me so he can be happy. :)

Bonus : Nesta trusting Azriel with Elain’s safety :
« Nesta met his stare, knowing he was the only one aside from Feyre who could truly understand her hesitation. We won’t make the same mistake twice. She believed him » (Also, I always find it funny when she says that Azriel was the only one aside Feyre to understand her hesitation. No mention of Lucien)
Conclusion : Nesta and Feyre are Elriels.

A Comparison of Mate Behavior...and Failed Pairings
What's wrong with the Lucien-Elain bond? There's something off about this, and I'll let the text speak for itself.
Let's start with an analysis of responding to a partner that's injured, or when they have something amiss.
Nesta - Cassian
But she surveyed his seven Siphons, the dim red stones. And then she said, "You're hurt."
"I was busy, Cassian said, not taking his focus off Nesta as she studied the swollen wrist. How she'd detected it through the armor...She must have read it in his eyes, his stance.
Azriel - Elain
Azriel's hazel eyes churned as he studied my sister, her too-thin body. And without a word, he winnowed away.
"She doesn't need anything," Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien.
Elain blinked and blinked, eyes clearing again. As if the understanding, our understanding...it freed her from whatever murky realm she'd been in.
Now take a look at the similarities between these two pairings and their responses to injuries:
Tamlin - Feyre (A Failed Pairing)
(Tamlin) never woke up when the nightmares dragged me from sleep...when I vomited my guts out every night. If he knew or heard, he said nothing about it.
Lucien - Elain
(Lucien) hadn't mentioned Elain...Elain hadn't asked him to stay, or to go. And whether she cared about the bruises on his face, she certainly hadn't let on.
Look at how these pairings respond to fear (or lack thereof):
Rhysand - Feyre
"I was afraid of you at first."
(Rhys's) white teeth flashed. "No, you weren't. Nervous, maybe, but never afraid."
Nesta - Cassian
I watched a tear slide down Nesta' cheek. And I watched as Cassian reached up a hand to wipe it away. She did not flinch from his touch.
Azriel - Elain
"Would you like me to show you the garden?" ...But Elain did not balk from him, did not shy away as she nodded - just once.
Now look at how these two pairings respond to fear:
Lucien - Elain
Lucien took off his jacket, kneeling before Elain. She cringed away from the coat, from him -
Tamlin - Feyre (A Failed Pairing)
Beneath the mask, I could have sworn his brows were raised. "I was trained to notice these things. But I could smell the fear on you, more than anything."

Nesta said, “Then you will die.”
Azriel only repeated, rage glazing that stare, “I’m getting her back.”
Azriel when Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn were kidnapped in the rite:
“We trained them well, Cassian. Trust in that. It’s all we can do.”

Ways Elain and Azriel are similar:
-both are the unassuming members of the IC
-both enjoy peace and quiet
-both are mostly silent but when they speak people listen
-both have protective sides that come out in a feral way (Elain stabbing Hybern, Azriel attacking Eris)
-both understand to have loved and been rejected
-both have trauma pertaining to their body, Elain by being turned fae and Azriel with his hands
-same sense of humor (Elains gag gifts making Azriel actually full on LAUGH)
-both “see” each other (Azriel knowing Elain is a Seer, Elain knowing enough about Azriel to get him headache powder)
-follows into both being observant
-it has been repeatedly hinted that Elain has the makings of a spy—-has Azriel beat for secret keeping? So soft on her feet she can sneak up on people? Has a way of getting people to do what she wants? Speculated to be taking lessons from the twins?
And these are things I just came up with quickly while waiting for a doctors appt. You can find many, many beautiful posts that are more succinct and beautifully stated than this but at least I could list somethings.
I would say that Elain and Azriel fall into each other’s lifestyles easily since that’s what they’ve been doing.
Azriel willingly spends downtime in the garden with Elain, reading his reports, sunning his wings, he offers to take her there himself and even when he’s not there, he’s observing the garden with Elain in it.
They spent all Solstice night with each other staying up talking.
So yes. They are similar in manner and in lifestyle I would say and have no problems quietly inserting themselves into each other’s life.

Gwynriels and eluciens, this soft launch of Elriel and Elain being the next main character is for you guys cause you guys obviously don’t get it.
We know it’s not a confirmation, but like Sarah has said, isn’t it obvious? We know it’s coming.
Acotar isn’t about a Pegasus, or priestesses, or valkyries, or whatever it is you guys think GWYN (and not emerie for some reason) is gonna do for the illyrians, none of that. Like Azriel hates the illyrians, he’s not gonna do anything to fix or help them, that would be Cassian, who actually loves his people despite what they’ve done. It’s about FEYRE and her sisters, and their stories and choices. It’s always gonna be centered around the archerons.
Those of us that have been around since the beginning, like since 2015 like me, have sensed this from the beginning. It’s been obvious ever since Elain and Azriel met in mist and fury and then again when rejecting a mate and questioning the cauldron was brought up in wings and ruin.
I’m sick and tired of this idiotic ship war, especially when one of the ships doesn’t even exist in canon. Like Sarah never talks about gwyn, never talks about Lucien anymore. She only mentions Elain and Azriel and you guys can’t connect the dots. Well, I think you can, you guys just refuse to accept what the rest of fandom knows. The next book is gonna be Elain and Azriel’s story and then the last acotar book is more than likely gonna be a multi pov book, similar to kingdom of ash, centered around the 3 main couples and their friends as they defeat the big bad and finish the series.
Sorry for the rant. I’ll probably get bitched at or a screen shot will be taken and I’ll be trashed on the other side. I’m just tired of the other side treating us like we’re the delusional ones. Sometimes they make no sense at all, it’s comical.

Look, look at the build up, the crazy tension, we're just waiting for them to jump and kiss each other 😍:
“I want to see her. Just once. Just—to know.”
“To know what?”
He hitched my damp cloak higher around us. “If she is worth fighting for.”
But there she was.
His mate.
She was nothing like Jesminda..... She had chosen him.
Elain had been … thrown at him.
Elain blinked slowly. “You were in Hybern.”
“Yes.” It was all he could say.
“You betrayed us.”
I nudged Elain, who blinked at me, then blurted, “You could come to Velaris.”
He saw all of it, but nodded graciously. “It would be my pleasure.”
He hadn’t mentioned Elain, or his proximity to her. Elain had not asked him
to stay, or to go. And whether she cared about the bruises on his face, she
certainly hadn’t let on.
Elain, at least, would be too polite to send Lucien away when he wanted to
help. She was too polite to send him away on a normal day. She just ignored him
or barely spoke to him until he got the hint and left.
How Lucien withstood it, I didn’t know. Not that he’d shown any interest in
bridging that gap between them.
“You’re welcome to stay for the night,” I said, since Elain certainly wasn’t
going to.
Lucien lowered his hands into his lap and leaned back in the armchair.
“Thank you, but I have other plans.”
I prayed he didn’t catch the slightly relieved glimmer on Elain’s face.
My sister rose to her feet. “I should get refreshments.”
Lucien rose as well. “No need to trouble yourself. I’m—”
But she was already out of the room.
Give her time to accept it.”
“To accept a life shackled to me?”
My nostrils flared. “That’s not what I meant.”
“She wants nothing to do with me.” (hope antis would also get the hint lol)
“Spend time with her.”“I don’t think she’ll tolerate two minutes alone with me, so forget about two
weeks.”
“He brought you a present.”
Those doe-brown eyes turned toward me. Sharper than I’d ever seen them.
"And that entitles him to my time, my affections?”.... “He cares for you.”
“He doesn’t know me.”
“You don’t give him the chance to even try to do so.”
Her mouth tightened, the only sign of anger in her graceful countenance. “I
don’t want a mate. I don’t want a male.”
Elain only
shrank further into herself, no trace of that newfound boldness to be seen.
Her brown eyes were wary. Usually, that look was reserved for Lucien.
Elain, the wretch, had taken the seat between
Feyre and Varian, about as far from Lucien as she could get.
It's crazy how antis try to twist things. If there is a couple who will look like two dolls forced to kiss, it's Elain and Lucien.
I don’t know why they act like they don't know it's Rhys who ordered Az to stop, that there was very high tension and chemistry between him and Elain, that she gave him 'Offer and permission.' Later on, he was questioning the pot from which the world was born. The next day, he was putting rocks in snowballs and throwing them at Rhys. At the training, he was aloof and didn't even smile at Nesta. This is the forbidden love, you can't have the kiss in a bonus chapter, we have to see the tension, the yearning, the charged glances and the brush of fingers that sjm talked about. Antis are just deluding themselves further and I fear the fall will be a bit hard.

Can’t stop thinking about how no Fae Male has actively questioned and fought against a mating bond except Azriel.
Like, think about it.
Sure, Feyre questioned the mating bond between Elain and Lucien, and even questioned the cauldron. But she was human first. She didn’t grow up knowing about bonds and how they are rarely, if ever really, rejected/fought against.
But Azriel does. He’s hundreds of years old. He knows how permanent and basically unbreakable mating bonds are. And yet he’s questioning and going against it anyway?
Even Tamlin didn’t do that. Once he 100% knew about the mating bond between Rhysand and Feyre, he didn’t try to break it. He may have still wanted Feyre, but he never actively tried to get it to break or tell them that the Cauldron was wrong. And Tamlin was going to MARRY Feyre at one point; they were together and he loved her. But he still didn’t truly or bluntly go up against the mating bond.
Yet Azriel has tried. He’s the only male in this series that we have seen actually try. Even if others have liked Feyre or Nesta, once their mating bonds were revealed anyone else interested BACKED OFF.
Elain and Lucien’s bond has been revealed, but Azriel still has feelings for Elain. He’s questioning and fighting it. Something we’ve never seen with any of the male.
We’re suppose to believe that means nothing? That that isn’t going to be prevalent in the upcoming book? And that SJM will simply say “Oh Az fighting it was just random nonsense and now Elain and Lulu will live happily ever after!”
Be so for real.
