. 🎨 The Unknown Surrounds Me 🧑🏻‍🎨 #AnthonyPresley They may never come. Those dreams and wishes upon stars could be what you want. Her hand in yours may be friendship only. Your kids may have to be lives changed, rather than procreated. Debt may run long after the eulogy. Positivity may not appear through this writing. We are descendants of the imperfect. Our world remains divided by flags, genders, belief systems, and everything humans can imagine. A savior conquered death, while 316,000 die every 48 hours. Some say such is life. But, that doesn’t make it easy to digest. So; we see psychiatrists, imams, priests, support groups, and self-help books. Rationalizing loss and suffering helps us adapt to redundant experiences. Intoxication through prescribed or self-medication shifts our perspectives on normalcy. Hobbies, passions, and outlets attack emptiness for seasons. None of us are immune to hiding sadness. Some are better at sharing their burdens, while others smile to avoid standing out. All I know is minuscule in comparison to the weight of existence and data surrounding me. My heart tells me not to give into false hope or thinking that tomorrow will somehow make up for yesterday. What I can say is that all of the above is more than I could ever deserve. Why? Whoever decided to include me in this design and story hasn’t given up on me. I tried to make them quit. Sleeping by the wayside, my eyes couldn’t escape the rising Sun. Headphones in and all geared up, it was time to get going around the bend. Without a map or reason, all I had were nerves to work out. Empty streets and silent skies, I watched my feet move void of any premeditated thought. Letting my hair down, I granted creation access to my otherwise mute spirit. Birds sitting atop streetlights and cars wizzing by filled with direction, my imagination slowed to observe reality. Lyrics and feelings danced freely amidst my wandering mind. Somehow, time stopped as I began to fixate on the present. How many seasons passed to make it happen? Who were those who lifted me out of the mire? Why are these moments so rare? Whatever was repressed came out to play. In it; my faithful companion quietly made sure that my pulse remained, gravity kept me from going too far out, and this body retained its purpose. There’s so much to be grateful and upset over. What will I focus on today? All of it homie. The full spectrum of emotion is evidence that we aren’t lifeless or faking it. Enjoy and hate it. There’s no one who can go through the process for us. Individually, we must discover ourselves. Such is the second greatest gift. This leads to finding each other. Our destiny . . .
