We need more Anthony Bridgerton smut like where they are old rivals and it’s like kind of hate sex (ifykyk) like imagine Anthony seeing you flirting with his brother and he gets jealous and then like makes you feel better than a guy could ever (-like with all this smutty stuff like making reader squirt-) I’m sorry for this 😭 but we need it seriously
Hi Nonny!
So my requests are currently closed… but you’re in luck! I’ve written a couple of Anthony fics that have similar themes to this.
Regency: Kinktober: Hate Sex/Squirting - Hate sex and squirting after flirting with Benedict
Modern AU: The Belgian Chocolate Affair - Bratty sub reader flirts with Benedict to get him jealous
Modern AU: Driven to Distraction - Has elements of hate sex with added exhibitionism/Benedict voyeurism.
Tbh a lot of my Anthony fics, especially modern AU, are about them bickering before it boils over into passion. Not quite hate sex every time, but certain antagonism.
Here’s my Modern Anthony masterlist
Here’s my Regency Anthony masterlist
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the stories above.
Thanks for your ask 😁🧡

Pairing: Anthony Bridgeton x reader
Warning: angst, this doesn't have a happy ending, cursing, language, Anthony is kinda an arse here, mention of sex.
You were just a toy to him. You only appear in his memory when he is alone. He tells you how much he fancies you when fucks you. You wanted him to own you. You wanted him to love you and marry you. You wanted him to show you off. But all he wanted was to use you. He has touched you a ton of time but you wanted him to hold you.
It was a fine Tuesday night. You were passing some time with two of your best friends.
“You have to stop doing this to yourself, y/n.” Eleanor said.
“It's not that easy. I love him.”
“He is getting married and he is just using you. These feelings you have for him are useless. He does not care about them. Stop letting him inside your life again and again.”
“Pardon me. but I can't do that.“
“Then at least tell him how you feel about him. You can't just let him use your body like you are some harlot.” Jane said. It touched a nerve when she called you a harlot.
“I did.” the truth you didn't tell him how you felt but you have shown it and expressed it. “And I wish to end this conversation about Anthony. What is going on between him and I is none of your business.” you said rudely.
“You don't mean that, do you? We are your friends, of course it is our business.” Eleanor said, offended.
“Not anymore.”
“Not anymore? Our friendship or your business being ours?”
“Both.” you answered. You showed no emotions.
“Mark my words, y/n. You will regret choosing a man who doesn't love you over us. But also remember when you need my hands will be still open to hug and console."
They were right. You will regret choosing Anthony over them. Love really does make you blind. It makes you destroy yourself and you don't even realise that.
You watch your friends walk away. You don't stop them.
—----------------*__________*------------------
It's been four days since you lost your best friends.
You just wanted to curl up in a fetal position all day and cry. You realised the mistake you made. You realised Anthony will never love you the way you love him. You realised you were stupid for choosing Anthony over your friends.
Someone knocked on the door. You opened to find the bright face of Anthony.
"Hello, darling." He said.
"Anthony."
He didn't waste a single second. He grabbed your face and pulled you in for a deep kiss. You wanted to be committed in that kiss but you just couldn't. It felt so wrong.
You pushed him. Tears were forming in your eyes.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I don't wanna do this anymore. I just can't do it anymore."
"Why? What changed? You were happy with this arrangement. We were happy."
"First of all there is no 'we' and it never was and never will. And second of all I was happy in the beginning and now I'm not."
"I don't understand."
"Of course you don't. You were too shallow to see my feelings through your pleasure. You shouldn't come here anymore, you are betrothed to someone. " You screamed in anger and pain.
"Is this what this is all about? You want to stop this because I'm betrothed to Edwina. I'm merely marrying her because I want to marry a noble woman, a woman who can take care of my family and fulfil her duty as a wife. It's not like I'm marrying her for love."
"No this is not all about. It is more than that. And I don't wish to explain myself to you. You need to leave, lord Bridgerton. I don't want to see your face anymore."
He placed his hand on your shoulder.
"You don't really mean everything you said. "
You got frustrated. You didn't really mean what you said and you hated that he knew that.
You pushed his hand away.
You let out an agonising scream. Tears streaming down your face.
"No, I don't really mean what I said. But I want to. I'm in love with you but I'm wishing I wasn't.”
“I told you from the beginning not to fall in love with me. You had one fucking job and you couldnt fucking do it properly.” he shouted at you.
“Don't try to blame it on me. I didn't know I would fall for you.”
“I should have seen it coming when you started giving roses and becoming clingy.”
Anthony calling you clingy hurt you. It felt like he stabbed you in the heart with a knife and twisted and pulled the knife out.
You scoffed.
“Clingy. I was merely expressing my love. Mark my words, lord bridgerton. You will fall in love someday and memories of us will flash in front of your eyes. The person you fall for will be forbidden fruit. You will be hurt as much as I'm hurt right now. Now fucking get out of my house and never come back again. And also I feel sorry for the girl that you're marrying. Since you are merely marrying her to make her play the wife role and you don't love her.” you said to him with full anger and pain.
Anthony swallowed his saliva but it felt like he was swallowing a big rock.
“I'll leave and I hope to never see you again.” he turned away. He stormed out of your house, slamming the door behind.
You crumbled down to the floor and wailed your heart out.

Warning: mention of death, trouble breathing, breakdown, sister!bridgerton, anthony being a caring brother<33
Tumblr media
Y/N loved her family, and when it comes to irritation and fighting with them was something she hated.
She absolutely loved them and would always do, sure, she was the quiet sister who would rarely get involved in conversations but she still loved and respected them. Anthony and Y/N used to always fight and never seemed to get along, their arguments were always cruel and full of fury and they always found a way to insult each other by throwing awful cusswords at each other faces until their father passing and everything changed.
That day, when she ran to her father smiling brightly after greeting him with her arms wrapped around her father watching as Anthony glared at her making her stick her tongue out at him, Edmund handed his daughter the flower not quite noticing the bee on the side of his neck until he felt the sharp sting.
Everything happened in a blink of an eye, Y/N stopped rambling about her book once she noticed her father form shaking around her arm as he suddenly fell to his knees gasping for air, the E/C haired girl was quick to hold her father by placing her hand on his head and falling to her knees screaming for him to wake up with tears streaming down her cheeks, “HELP US SOMEONE!” both the siblings screamed for help in unison especially hers screams that were bloody, her hands trembling uncontrollably as she clenched her chest with her fist to calm her breathing.
When Y/N was born the first thing the doctor told them was that she has weak lungs and if she cries a lot she’s gonna have trouble breathing and to calm down, someone needs to be there and hold her.
Once her mother was by her side, and started also crying, Y/N held her father still in her arms by his right side begging for him to stay awake in which he only replied by wiping her cheek with his trembling hand to wipe the tear that fell from her E/C eyes, Anthony screamed for help and held his father by the head, “what happened?” asked his mother in panic, “I don’t know, I don’t know-“ Anthony voice trembled in fear as he stared with wide eyes as his mother pulled her husband away from her daughter and son hold and started shaking him so he can stay awake.
His eyes went over to Y/N who was trembling like a leaf and was having hard time to breathe tears blurred his vision, he had never seen her like this, his sister staring into nothing but complete emptiness with tears racing down her cheeks one after the other, her hand clenching on the flower pressed on her chest as she never seemed to regain her breathing.
“ANTHONY GRAB YOUR SISTER AND TRY TO MAKE HER BREATHE!” she ordered the boy turning to look at her daughter that was still in complete shock, he was snapped out of thoughts, his heart beating so fast that it was about to jump out of his chest as he dragged himself to the girl trying to grab her and pull her with him, trying so hard to ignore his trembling legs.
He gestured for the siblings to get inside the house while Y/N tried to brush past him and go back to her mother and father but his grip was stronger as tears threatened to spill from his eyes as soon as he felt her grip his shirt and cry in his arms whispering that it was all her fault. He wrapped his arms around her as she cried having trouble breathing, he kissed her forehead and looked down at his sister wiping his tears to look strong and gestured her to follow his breathing.
It worked.
And that was the only time she felt the comfort of her dear brother Anthony, the last time they fought and the last time she had trouble breathing.
Yet these past days Y/N has been having quite harsh times, her father passing day was coming up and him dying in her arms never seem to leave her mind nor decided to anytime soon, there they were in another ball that Simon and Daphne decided to make cause it was their son’s birthday, the Bridgerton, Featherington, every family was there laughing and enjoying their time, mostly girls dancing with their lord or soon to be. But Y/N sat slowly feeling her throat tightening especially when a Lord came to her; asking her to dance.
Of course, she will agree politely even if she could feel her heart beating fast as the memory of her father gasping for air was the only thing she could hear and the music fading in the background. Daphne noticed her condition especially how she seemed to be zoning out and didn’t want to hold her son, a very unusual thing to do since she always loved August but no she can’t hold him when her hand are trembling as if someone had hit her in the stomach.
“Excuse me.” She said suddenly breaking away from the lord, lifting her dress she ran out of the room and brushed past everyone harshly without even apologizing, Violet and Daphne called for Y/N who didn’t even care about their calls but instead just barged outside.
She sat on the stairs outside the beautiful house and tried to regain her breathing, she took off her gloves staring at her hands that never decided to stop trembling, Anthony noticed his sister's condition ever since she disagreed to go to this ball but eventually was forced to, the way she would fiddle with her glove or would hide her hands behind her back.
But what caught his attention was when he watched her dance with the lord, not even a single glint of happiness but pure fear, the way she suddenly lifted her beautiful expensive dress with beautiful sparkly flower embroidery and ran as far as she could from the crowd of people, ignoring her worried brother's call and sisters but instead just sprinted down the hallways.
Anthony eyed Colin and Benedict to check if the lord had said something to Y/N while he goes check on her, Anthony searched everywhere in the huge mansion and asked every servant until one has specifically told him where she is.
Anthony rushed to see his sister staring at the moon praying that she wasn't going to die, he ran as fast as he ever thought he did and grabbed her arms softly not to startle her, "where have you been sister, I looked for you everywhere-" he was cut off by tears racing down her cheeks.
He haven't seen her cry in years and hell, she would never dare to cry in front of everyone if it wasn't Daphne, she wanted to look strong and fearless but the tears had betrayed her and here she is, staring at her brother's eyes with glossy, blurry E/C eyes.
"I don't wanna die, Anthony, please-" she whispered looking around in fear and her breathing getting heavier by the second, Anthony's eyes widened as he stared at his sister in fear of losing her also, he didn't want to lose her, his sister that he always enjoyed annoying, fighting and laughing with was right now begging not to die.
"no. what- no. Y/N you're not going to die. listen to me, I need you to follow my breathing okay?" he said trying so hard not to panic so he wouldn't scare her more than she already is. Anthony actually brought a book for these kinds of situations and studied so hard and it seems like his investigations were working.
"Okay, do as told. Take a long, slow breath in through your nose, first fill your lower lungs, then your upper lungs. Hold your breath to the count of three. and finally exhale slowly through pursed lips, while you relax the muscles in your face, jaw, shoulders, and stomach." Y/N did as told still holding her brother's hand for dear's life.
She calmed down. Anthony smiled proudly at his work and at his sister slowly pulling her into a hug, he brushed her hair softly, "don't you ever dare say that ever again, I don't want the word 'death' leave your mouth ever again." he ordered his sister who chuckled softly in response.
"Are you worried, brother? fearing the sister you always annoyed will not be with you anymore?" she said with a smile in which he only rolled his eyes at.
"oh please sister, I will annoy you until I die."
The rest of the night was spent with Anthony and Y/N going back home so she can rest peacefully and so they can hang out for a while, a sibling's night if that's what you call, and as he used to do, read her a book from his father's library. Y/N was clearly not ready for her brother's marriage nor the thought of him marrying and leaving them, but still was glad that he was tonight with her spending time and sharing memories instead of that ridiculous party

Even though you could still hear the muffled sounds of conversation and music just beyond the other side of the terrace door, the longer Anthony went without saying anything, the more deafening the silence around you became.
You had been patiently waiting as he continued to pace in front of you quietly. In all honesty, you would have allowed him to keep pacing if not for the fact that your honor would be called into question if you two were discovered alone.
So after he went another moment without uttering a word, you chose to say,
“My Lord.”
While you eyed him promptingly.
Pausing in his steps, the Viscount took a much-needed calming breath before turning to face you. When he met your gaze but still said nothing, you heaved out a sigh and closed your eyes. Raising a hand to soothe your temple, you began to say,
“I can understand that this might not be pleasant to hear, but⏤”
However, Anthony chose that moment to finally join the conversation.
“Pleasant?” He repeated with disbelief, “How is this even possible?”
You had gone to answer, but Anthony did not notice as he continued his tirade.
“Truly! How does a mother just throw away her child to a man twice her age??”
Done with being interrupted, you narrowed your eyes and took an assertive step forward as you firmly declared,
“That woman is not my mother!”
You both locked eyes while your words sunk in. You held each other’s gaze for a moment longer before you sighed again and took a step back. After taking another second to compose yourself, you began to explain.
“She is, and only ever will be, my stepmother.” You quietly started off. “And even then, she is my stepmother in name only.”
Continuing with a slightly bitter smile, you confirmed what Anthony had slowly started to realize.
“She has never cared for me and has arranged for it to be so that she never has to.”
You looked off to the side for a moment, trying not to fall deeper into Anthony’s understanding eyes. But it could not be helped when the next words you said sounded as if they were filled with held-back emotion. Meeting his gaze as tears burned the back of your eyes, you voiced the reality of your situation with a touch of heartbreak.
“I have to marry this season, or she will engage me to her Uncle.”
Comprehending the need for such sorrow, Anthony comfortingly took your hand and imploringly said,
“But I have now offered my hand. You do not have to go through with it!”
Abruptly pulling your hand away from his, you made sure to look directly into his gaze when you frustratedly asked,
“But what is one loveless marriage for another?”
Freezing on the spot, the young Viscount instantly thought about the words he used to propose as he watched while you continued.
“In these past few weeks, where we have done nothing but get to know one another, why do you think I have never once brought this up?”
Not even giving him a chance to reply, you answered your own question.
“It is because had I wanted a marriage of convienience, I would have simply thanked my stepmother for arranging such a match.”
Your expression and tone had been strong as you spoke. However, both suddenly softened when you admitted to him,
“But that is not what I want.”
Trying to make him understand, you declared with an innate passion,
“I want someone who will want to be there for me. I want someone whose loyalties I will never have to question.”
Giving a wishful sigh at such a fantasy, you said,
“I want someone who wants to be my greatest friend.”
You had been looking at Anthony while you spoke and he had remained still as he listened.
After you finished, it only took him another moment’s hesitation before he came to a decision.
Gently taking your hand in his again, he quietly stated while looking into your eyes,
“I can be your friend.”
Swallowing and looking down at your now entwined hands, you said just as quietly,
“Friendship is not courtship.”
Suddenly pulling you in by your hands till your chest was pressed against his, your eyes met as he confidently challenged your words.
“Friendship makes the best courtship.”
Furrowing your brow, you hesitatingly asked,
“What ever do you mean?”
Keeping you just as close, Anthony took his turn to look down at where he was gently gripping your gloved hands and began to speak.
“My parents always said the best foundation of any marriage was friendship.”
Glancing back up to your eyes, he continued.
“That is what I am offering.” He said with hope and conviction. “Friendship.”
After looking off to the side for a moment, he started to say,
“And if stronger feelings appear…”
He almost seemed nervous as he began to speak. But by looking into your eyes once more, he found the courage to finish without pause,
“...then we will happily welcome them.”
Still in his arms, you openly regarded him for a few seconds before a sly expression started to grow on your face. As a smirk began to touch your lips, you lightly asked,
“Can I have your word on that, my Lord?”
Not expecting such a response, Anthony said, “Pardon?”
Elaborating a bit further, you repeatedly said,
“Can I have your word that you will happily tell me when these stronger feelings appear?”
Startled, he quickly wondered aloud, “Why is it ‘when’ and not ‘if’?”
Taking a glance down to his lips and then back up to his eyes, you revealed a truth you had only just figured out by thinking of his conduct with you.
“Because,” You quietly said with nothing but confidence. “We are already halfway there.”
Remembering all the times he must have purposefully sought you out, you thought back on how he only seemed to smile when you made a joke. You thought back on how he always appeared to find reasons to make physical contact with you. And you thought back on how comfortable you felt in each other’s presence.
The more you reminisced, the more you could not believe you had not noticed it sooner.
Anthony’s eyes had widened at your revelation and watched as you unconsciously bit your lip in order to contain the wide smile you had as you realized it. When his expression changed to one of suppressed yearning (due to watching such an action), and he finally took note of your proximity, he knew your declaration could not be denied.
Conceding and sighing with defeated fondness, he asked with a small smile and slightly narrowed eyes,
“Why do you need my word?”
With a mischievous look on your face, you simply replied,
“Well, I have heard you are a man of honor, and a man of honor would keep his word…”
With a teasingly raised brow, you inquired with a coquettish smile,
“So will you be honorable?”
In a flash, Anthony’s mind decided that being an honorable man was one thing. Remaining honorable in your presence was another.
But as entranced as he was with such a desirable expression on your face, he could only give into your request by nodding while he stared at your smile. He saw you light up, taking his acquiescence as a victory, and could not stop himself from beginning a slow descent down to your perfect lips.
But before he could reach them, you both heard the terrace door open and you each sprung apart.
Turning towards the doors with wide eyes at being caught in such a position, some of your panic was instantly alleviated when you saw it was just your Aunt and his mother standing in the doorway.
But a portion of that panic also remained as Lady Danbury demanded to know,
“What is going on here?”
Turning your heads towards one another to find a response, Anthony’s eyes told you that the ball was in your court since you never gave an answer to his proposal.
Looking back at your Aunt and Lady Bridgerton as they too waited for an answer from you, you decided to give a content smile while reaching out to take Anthony’s hand in yours before saying,
“Well, I suppose we have an announcement to make.”

♕ A/N: I am so sorry for disappearing!! This has been sitting in my drafts for a while and I forgot about blinked and suddenly it was mid July. Feedback pleaseeee! Feedback motivates me to write.
♕ SUMMARY: Oh, the most scandalous season of the year has come to pass. After quite the successful year for the Bridgerton’s the eldest son plans to throw his hat in the ring. Concurrently the Sharma sisters do just the same. One a spinster, the other hopeful romantic, and the middle daughter? What can be said about such a force that is not said when she enters the room. Good luck to all who pursue her.

“LORD BEAUREGARD, (Y/N), ARE YOU MAKING YOUR EXIT? I shall join you both. It is a rather hot day,” Your mother says, smiling kindly. You do not fail to miss the pointed look in her eye. The word of you and the Duke leaving unchaperoned would spread across the ton like an uncontrollable wildfire. Arriving with a Bridgerton and leaving with a Royal would be the topic of the ton for weeks.
Back at the Danbury house, your mother excuses herself leaving you both under the eye of a maid. The moment she leaves your sight you drop your clasp hands and uniform posture earning a chuckle from William.
“I must inquire of your passionate vendetta against marriage,” William says, walking toward the stairs you both walk at an even pace. You grimace as the two of you enter the terrace and your eyes look off into the vast beauty of nature.
“If I am to share this with you, you musn’t tell a single soul. I will be putting my trust in you, a true test of our friendship. Do you accept this or shall I not disclose?” Despite the whimsical glint in your eyes, he could see the hesitation hiding within your features. William properly clasps his hands behind his back before nodding his head. His soft expression and full attention makes you believe in something you question regularly, good nature. “Well I assume it's not a secret of my mothers history with the ton. She and Kate have put all of their efforts into shaping Edwina and I to be desirable. Why must I sing and dance well to make a good wife? Am I interesting? Do I make you happy? Those are the true questions for marriage, not qualities to show off like a circus act. I—my grandparents, the Sheffields—I was ten when I found out. I wasn’t supposed to know. Edwina was changing and I was doing what I do best, not following directions. Kate and Mom were arguing about my grandparents and then I heard it. The Sheffields care not of our happiness and the only way to gain our dowry and their love is through marrying an Englishmen, especially one of nobility.”
“You aim to defy them by never marrying?” You both stop on the back porch soaking in the waning sun. The sun makes your skin glow and William cannot tear his eyes off of you. You close your eyes, taking in a deep breath, seconds pass before your eyes open again and a glare replaces the peaceful one.
“I aim to humiliate them. Their daughter married below her station and their granddaughter a spinster. Edwina deserves a happy life full of love, it suits her. I want to find my joy from something else. Once a spinster I will be free of the ton's expectations of me,” You explain, meeting William’s gaze his full attention did not falter.
“I do apologize if I speak in circumstances I do not fully comprehend but do you not rob your sister of her truth?” Your shoulders fall as you ponder the question. In the past you found yourself dancing with the option of telling Edwina the truth and curiosity brought wonder of what she would do.
“I’m not entirely certain. We fear she will wed out of duty rather than love. Our parents loved each other very much, she wants what has been modeled for us,” Your father clouds your thoughts as you grasp at a reality that no longer exists. The way he would dance with your mother some nights in the kitchen or how you would wake to fresh flowers on the kitchen table. While his love for his wife was great, his love for his daughters was far greater.
“What shall occur if you find the love that was shown in your childhood home?” A small chuckle leaves your lips as you lean on the white pillar of the back porch. William smiles, his eyebrows furrowing at the sudden amusement.
“A love like that? I can never imagine such love being found in this marriage market,” You turn toward the blue sky that now bleeds with pockets of orange. A hare scampers across the field adding to the soft hum of blissful silence. William watches you for many minutes, one would think he takes mental notes to later document. His adoration sits on full display for every living being in proximity to see. Newton joins the two of you for a short time and you are sure your mother instructed everyone to leave you and William to stargaze. You giggle at how Newton nuzzles into William’s side.
Tumblr media
Newton licking your face stirs you from your rest. The morning sun earns a loud groan from your lips as you slip beneath your blanket. Newton wastes no time in stepping on your face as he closely inspects the thin blanket that separates you.
“Newton please!” You whine but his excitement does not cease. Pulling back you fail to glare at his sweet smile as he moves to lick your face. You sit up on your elbows to find both Edwina and Kate’s beds empty. Not a single servant or your mother in sight brings a growing smirk to your features. In the closet, you throw several gowns around until the tan riding pants come into view. Newton sits on your bed watching you with his tail wagging and tongue hanging.
Standing in the mirror you ignore the inevitable pointed stare of your mother. The white shirt and black boots appear so simple but your eyes light up at the sight.
“I fancy a walk, what do you think Newton?” You ask, earning a bark from the corgi; scratching the top of his head you head toward the door. He quickly jumps from the bed following you out. While your family and Lady Danbury chat in the tearoom, you slip out of the front. It takes several minutes to get Newton to stop wiggling so you can button his collar. You follow the dirt path leading away from the manor for several minutes. The sun beats down like a force to be reckoned with and you regret not bringing water along. When the two of you turn back you walk across the grass begrudgingly, “Fancy we’ll fall slain to the sun. Hell of a way to go Newton.”
Your dry chuckle does nothing to curb your discomfort but as the house draws closer you practically taste the water on your tongue. The front yard displays a sight that shoots amusement throughout your chest. Newton growls at the sight of the eldest Bridgerton standing next to a horse. You raise an eyebrow reeling in Newton’s leash as Anthony meets your gaze.
“Pray tell what nonsense, do you engage your time in now?” The question makes you audibly laugh as you eye the beautiful horse behind him. You tilt your head as he adjusts his jacket asking what was so amusing.
“You never fail to humor me, Lord Bridgerton. Rather than boring you with my feeble-minded lady-like activities pray tell why you stand here now gifting a horse…for Kate?” Your lip quivers as you struggle to fight the smirk that aches to make an appearance. Anthony’s eyebrows furrow at your words but he cannot respond as Kate comes charging out of Danbury house.
“How much clearer must I be?” Kate questions and Anthony announces the rather large gift for Edwina. Newton nuzzles into the side of your leg as you intently watch steam practically pour out from Kate’s ears. “Take your Trojan horse elsewhere.”
“I assure you, Miss Sharma, this is a very real horse. I’d not recommend trying to climb inside,” Anthony says. The chuckles that leave your lips are involuntary and you do not stifle them at the sight of Kate’s glare. Anthony glances at you, finding only amusement in your features.
“Sister, why don’t you take Newton inside? Lord Bridgerton truly this is all a game to you,” Kate says, earning an immediate response from Anthony stating the opposite. As Kate reveals the schemes at the races your eyebrows furrow as a smile dances on your lips.
“Color me impressed, a rather weakly plotted scheme but I appreciate all plots and ploys. Maybe there’s hope for you yet Lord Bridgerton,” You say but the sound of your name on Kate’s lips tells you she no longer wishes to tolerate your games. “Let’s go, Newton, we both know Lord Bridgerton won’t be removing his foot from his mouth any time soon.”
Anthony says nothing at the jab and you miss how he narrows his eyes at your back as a smile ghosts on his lips. You pass Edwina on your journey back inside, she greets you with her usual upbeat smile. While she notes your uncharacteristically cheery persona her confusion soon clears at the sight of Kate and Anthony bickering.
“Perfection. Just who I was looking for,” Your mother says, handing Newton off to one of the maids, Mary rushes you up the stairs. She sits you down and slowly brushes your hair.
“Mama, has something happened?” You ask. Mary shakes her head smiling down at you with a warm devotion. You keep a cautious eye on your mother as she turns your head to the mirror forcing you to look at yourself.
“Dearest I know we do not particularly see eye to eye on many things but there is one thing. You are beautiful. I know this may be confusing. I just fear I put all my energy into Edwina’s season that I may be neglecting you,” Mary reveals. You frown at her words.
“Mama you know I have no desire to marry but Edwina does. I understand that right now is a busy time for her and she needs us, especially you to help her through all this,” Placing your hand on your mothers you give it a light squeeze as you look up at her. She asks if you are certain but you promise her that things feel more than ordinary.
“Fine but humor me, love. Look at yourself in the mirror once more. I understand you wish to not marry but promise you will not actively evade your chance to be happy,” Staring at your reflection your self-esteem equates to a large glasshouse. The confidence you carry comes with a bright red fragile sticker on the front. You squeeze Mary’s hand again as you give her your word.

Your mother brushes your hair back into small pins which she covers with small flowers. As the guests pour in you stand with a cordial smile as your eyes scan the room for the Duke. When he does arrive you are taken back by the intricacy of his suit. He wears all black with a white undershirt that pops due to the consistency of black. His gold cufflinks glimmer under the light and his hair sits with near curls framing his face.
“Miss Sharma,” He greets properly and your mouth dries as you cannot take your eyes off of him. You fail to notice how your mother smiles at the sight of the interaction and she greets the Duke when you do not find the will to move or works to speak. He thanks Lady Danbury for having him and greets your sister accordingly.
“Are you still certain of your disdain to marry?” Lady Danbury taunts with a smirk on her lips as your sisters giggle. Your mother smiles as you scramble to remove the attention from yourself.
“Just because I do not wish to marry does not mean I cannot find a man to be visibly pleasing. Lord Beauregard looks rather handsome and I was taken aback is all. Shall we continue to greet our guests?” You turn forward and as if on queue more guests arrive.
Gathering in one of the many large rooms you sit with Edwina on the couch. Front and center to all of the talents it would be a lie to say you are not enjoying yourself. While you have yet to have another moment with William, you still mindlessly scan the room in search of his presence. You miss his return to the room with Kate as the men showcase many curiosities. Your favorite so far being Lord Darlington turning a flame into a flower.
“At least it is the men making fools of themselves this time,” Your sister says, revealing herself to be standing directly behind you.
“You say that as though men do not make fools of themselves regularly,” You say, standing next to your sister Eloise joins in on the laughter. She asks if the idea had been from either of you. “I cannot take credit for this brilliance.”
“I wish I could take credit, but no. Lady Danbury encouraged a poetry reading. The men, thanks to their spirit and competition concocted the rest of this farce on their own,” Kate explains and the three of you refocus your attention forward. Despite not paying much attention to Lord Bakers tap dancing you still politely clap with the others. You lean back on the couch, beginning to bore with the so-called talents before Lady Danbury announces Lord Beauregard will be doing a poetry reading, an original piece. As he stands in front of you it takes everything not to sit up at the edge of your seat.
“Hello, all. I am no poet, I just speak from the heart so please do try to not judge me too harshly. Save the advent of pitchforks for the end if my poetry proves to require such a reaction,” Light chuckles carry throughout the room as you watch him shift. You wonder if the others notice the slight tremble of his hands as he fiddles with a piece of paper. He glances up a final time meeting your gaze, you offer a light smile as you provide him your full attention. Taking a deep breath, he mutters an apology before looking down at his paper, “Shakespeare compares thee to a summer's day. I find thee more peculiar. Her uncanny nature intoxicating, the lack of her presence maddening. For that, I cannot compare thee to a summer day. A summer's day is incomparable to thee. I pray she grants respite and allows me at her side for as long as time permits. Dare I say it? I love her. So much so, I torture myself to allow her, her happiness.”
A chorus of awes fills the room and the intensity of the clapping only adds to the stir in your chest. You do not move. Not an inch as you stare at William as though he stands with a gun pointing in your direction. As if a threat has been made to your life. Edwina claps vigorously and she leans in whispering something you do not register in your ear. Lady Danbury announces an intermission to which you rise from the couch and rush into the corridor. Though you hear William call your name it only makes your hasty exit more eager. You round the corner toward the foyer with your eyes lingering over your shoulder. The speed at which you march forward and your heels come to a halt as you crash into another.
“My apologies,” You say, absently as your eyes stay over your shoulder. Anthony frowns as his hands hold your elbows and follows your gaze. When you meet his gaze you fail to drop the worry in your eyes. You practically cling to Anthony as press further into his hold in attempts to get away.
“It’s quite alright. Are you okay Miss Sharma?” Anthony asks. His eyebrows furrowed as he searches for what urgently evade. You look over your shoulder once more to find William lingering by the hall. He offers a weak smile and you thank your lucky stars as Lady Danbury announces the festivities shall continue.
“I should get back to my sister's side. Lord Bridgerton,” Your words jumble and you curtsy before turning around and passing William back into the main room. The two men say nothing as they follow you. On the couch, while you appear to place your full attention forward you actively fight every ache to look back. You are certain William stands within the room watching you. Anthony at the last minute asks for the room to grant him audience, much to Kate’s chagrin it’s happily accepted. You frown as he removes a paper from his pocket and begins reading.
“What is it truly to admire a woman? To look at her and feel inspiration. To delight in her beauty, so much that all your defenses crumble, that you would willingly take on any pain, any burden for her. To honor—“ He looks up meeting Edwina’s bright eyes and large smile. Though it appears the poem achieves all he hoped for, his eyes linger just inches to the right. You sit back on the couch, slouching with an eyebrow raised. He’s certain you can see right through him as your nose scrunches while you search for the source of his abrupt pause he speaks again, “To honor—“
His eyes find Kate’s to his right and she shares your expression. Her eyebrows pull inward as her jaw clenches and she keeps her hands properly clasped in front of her. Anthony turns toward the crowd, he finds his mother and Lady Danbury appearing unfazed. Despite their attempts, he can see the lining of disapproval in their eyes. Bringing his hands together he crumbles Benedict's poem before the entire room. He turns toward the fire, dropping the paper in.
“My apologies. I cannot do this. I cannot claim these words as my own. They are someone elses entirely. Truth be told, I’m not—I’m not a man of poetry. Words of flattery are beautiful and sweet but they are also hollow unless accompanied by action,” Anthony sighs as he brings his hand up and scratches the back of his ear. Not a single person in the room moves a single muscle and the crackling of the fireplace brings a soft hum to your ears. Anthony meets your gaze briefly, his words holding your mind hostage. No matter how hypnotizing the moment feels Anthony still breaks it and looks to the right of you, “Miss Edwina, I could stand here and pretend to be someone I am not. I could pretend to want the very same things as you, but I’d be lying. I may not be able to offer the display of passion that you truly deserve but I assure you that when it comes to action and duty. I shall never be found lacking and I hope that will speak louder than any pretty words ever can.”
The clapping that follows provides the perfect smokescreen to make your exit. As you once again reach the corridor you continue to the kitchen to find the staff scrambling. You grab an cookie before returning out into the hall. Kate stands a few feet back as William stands against the wall parallel to the kitchen. You frown at your sister's presence and William’s nervous eyes before it all clicks.
“No. Not now,” You say, rushing down the hall a sigh leaves you as William and Kate follow. Kate hangs back keeping the two of you in view but not close enough to be intrusive.
“Wait, wait, wait. (Y/n) talk to me?” William says, grabbing you gently he pulls you off to the side. He frowns as you avoid looking at him, “Have I done something to offend you?”
“No I—William I cannot do this,” You try to blink away the burning in your eyes. Kate keeps her gaze off the two of you as she silently listens in.
“Why don’t we get some air okay, yeah?” William says, nodding your head you allow him to escort you outside to the front of Danbury House. Kate lingers in the doorway as the two of you take a seat on the steps. The silence that follows eases the thick fog that clouds your nerves. You feel it when William’s gaze moves from the distance onto your rigid exterior.
“I would hate to sound presumptuous but would one be correct in her assumption that your poem was about me?” You ask, meeting his gaze your tired eyes reveal little of what goes on behind them. He nods his head as he reaches into his pocket revealing the paper. Your name’s written at the top of the paper and the poem sits neatly beneath. He reaches to the inside of his jacket pocket retrieving a small box.
“Do not make haste with your answer for I beseech you to truly consider all that I may offer. I know our time together has been short but please hear me (Y/n). I wish to make all your dreams a reality. All the words I spoke were nothing short of true. I ask not for your love but your companionship. If I cannot have you as my lover and wife then I will accept you as my friend and wife. You will have the luxury of the freedom you so desire and I, your presence and security of marriage. We can be happy. I can make you happy I am sure of it.”
You chew on your bottom lip as your mind scrambles to remove yourself from the situation. He holds the box out to you to which you accept it with cautious eyes. Upon opening the box the gold band and medium-sized diamond glimmers under the soft lighting. You say nothing as William describes his process of choosing the ring, his goal to reflect your personality.
“Are you calling me simple?” You ask, raising an eyebrow but William rolls his eyes nudging your side. He explains his understanding of your joy with simplicity but also chaos which comes with the news if you accept the proposal. All that you live wrapped into one gesture. The soft chuckle that leaves the two of you eases the suffocating tension but it does not change it. “Your offer is more than generous but in a way a lie William. You are a part of the royal family. Marrying you brings a royal wedding with responsibilities and expectations I can never meet.”
“We can face all of those obstacles together. You will have more freedom and resources than you can ever imagine,” William says, resting his arms on his knees as he looks at your indifferent expression. You point out the push there will be for providing heirs. “And that is a discussion that only includes myself, you, and a doctor. I understand this proposal consists of several different aspects that must be discussed. For now, all I ask is for you to take the prospect of marriage into consideration and know I will happily spend the rest of my life trying to bring you joy. That is only if you will allow me.”

You keep your eyes on Newton who sits in Kate’s lap across from you as you thank the heavens word of William’s proposal has not gotten out. Lady Whistledown focuses her attention solely on their invitation to Aubrey Hall, apparently known for its beauty and history of the Bridgertons.
“Perhaps, I’ll wear the pink silks at dinner tonight. Do you think Lord Bridgerton will like it?” Edwina asks, her gaze bouncing from you to Kate with an eagerness that makes you want to roll your eyes.
“Probably? We’ve all met Viscount Bridgerton, not a single original thought in his head. All duty, worry and reservations. You embody perfection Bon, not a chance he does not like it,” You say earning a light kick to your shin from Kate who reassures Edwina. Edwina merely nudges you with her usual smile on her lips. Despite your rather offensive words Edwina only smiles at your hostile wit, over the years it has been apparent you do no wrong in her eyes.
“You need not worry about the Viscount's favor, Miss Edwina. It is an exceedingly good sign he has invited us to spend a few days with the family and their close family friends the Beauregards, before the rest of the ton arrives for the real party,” Lady Danbury says, looking in your direction with a pointed look. This time you do not hold back the roll of your eyes as you divert your attention to outside the carriage. The vast green of nature and vibrant blue of the sky wipe away all discontent you feel in conversation.
“Perhaps by then we can announce two engagements,” Your mother says, keeping your gaze outside of the carriage you pretend to not hear her.
“(Y/n) wouldn’t that just be lovely! We would still be so close, I the Viscountess and you someday a Princess! Do away with whatever is stopping you and imagine the happy lives we would live!” Edwina exclaims, taking your hand she brings it close to her chest as a big smile paints her features. The weak smile you present pairs with a deep hug.
“The Duke of Wales is quite a catch, Miss Sharma. Not only because of his title but I have known him since he was a babe. Nothing short of a gentleman and a man of true honor and dignity,” Lady Danbury says, but as it becomes clear you carry no intention of speaking your mother chimes in.
“That is just wonderful. I have seen how he looks at you dear. He is quite taken with you and I see how you smile with him,” Lady Mary points out and you fight every urge to huff and stomp your feet. Can man and woman not merely enjoy each other's company platonically? You lean back in your seat redirecting your attention to outside once more. Every interaction between yourself and William clouds your thoughts as you weigh the possibilities heavily. It plagues you the rest of the ride ignoring how they discuss the Bridgertons.
You cannot help the drop of your jaw at the sight of the estate as you draw closer. The large amount of land only fills you with excitement at the prospect of exploring. At the stop of the carriage you watch as many faces pour out of the front. Most of them you recognize but you struggle to identify the younger of the bunch. Lady Danbury steps out first greeting her godson with more excitement than you have ever seen her exude. You step out after your mother and Lady Violet greets you with a large smile. Stepping off to the side a smile ghosts on your lips at the seemingly endless fields. Fully enthralled you miss how William approaches your side, even flinching as he speaks.
“My apologies, my intentions were not to startle you, rather bask in the beauty of Aubrey Hall,” William says, offering a smile you cannot find the words to speak. His words from the night prior coming to the forefront of your mind. “I must assure you that there is no need to act differently around me. No matter your decision, you will always be a dear friend to me.”
“What pray tell did I ever do to deserve such a wonderful person in my life? Why would you ever want to marry such a hostile wench as some would say,” You both chuckle falling into that same easy going environment. William nudges your side as he says you speak too highly of him. You raise an eyebrow at the statement but before you can speak another voice diverts both of your attentions from behind.
“Careful William you may discover, dare I say, a personality behind her sharp tongue and cold eyes,” Anthony teases, standing at your left side William now stands across from you. Both Anthony and William chuckle as you roll your eyes at the weak jest.
“Lord Bridgerton, envy looks good on no one,” You point out crossing your arms you raise an eyebrow as a smirk threatens your lips. Anthony’s jaw clenches but the dry chuckle that leaves his lips tell a different tale.
“Is that so, Miss Sharma,” Anthony says, mirroring your crossed arms. The way the two of you move slightly closer brings a frown to William’s face. He says nothing as he silently observes how the two of you verbally push each other further and further. It’s not just the way the two of you stand or even what leaves your mouths but rather the locked eyes. Almost as if the two of you have forgotten William stands with you both.
“William, how dare you never tell me Anthony knew how to be anything beyond boorish?” Despite asking a question you do not move your gaze from Anthony as a mocking laugh leaves his lips.
“I am the boorish one?” His words drip in disbelief as he misses how his best friend shifts uncomfortably. In attempt to remind you both of his presence, he clears his throat but it does nothing as Kate appears at his side with Newton and a redhead at Anthonys. Anthony smiles down at Newton who immediately growls before moving to your ankles. You giggle as Kate points out Newton’s keen sense of one's character.
“I can assure you all by the end of this excursions he will have a much better perception of I,” Anthony says but his gaze stays with you a few seconds longer than necessary before he turns to his sister you have yet to be introduced to. Daphne looks from her brother looking cautiously between you and Kate. A hesitance dances in her eyes as she smiles warmly and settles on Kate.
“You must be Miss Edwina,” She says. You let out a hearty laugh as William clears his throat trying to subtly shake his head. Anthony whips his head toward his sister letting out a sharp no. You watch as she turns to you and you cannot find the strength to stop giggling, “My apologies Miss Sharma. I am Daphne, I guess I should have known you were Miss Edwina, it’s rather seldom that Anthony makes any other face other than one of annoyance.”
“My apologies Miss Daphne you are once again wrong. I can list numerous things I would rather endure than the courting of your brother,” You speak with a matter-of-fact tone before shrugging your shoulders at Anthony. Though her face descends into confusion it fades as Daphne lets out a chuckle, she tilts her head listening attentively. Kate covers her laugh as you hold out your hand to Daphne, “(Y/n) Sharma. I have met your siblings, they are wonderful.”
“No, it is my apologies to both of you. I must say I believe we shall have a fun game of Pall Mall with you all,” Daphne smiles and William asks to escort you inside to which Daphne grabs your arm with a playful look in her eye she says, “The first very interesting women to join us for Pall Mall will not be hogged by the likes of you Beauregard.”
She escorts you inside without another word to the others. You chuckle at how she smiles to herself with pride. She wastes no time in asking about your family and your sisters. You speak honestly about each of them, no fluffing them up in hopes it will secure Edwina a match. The only negatives you list of Edwina consist only of sisterly squabbles. Her unflinching joyful energy and optimistic nature. In actuality they are not negatives but you still say some days it drives you up the wall. “You have a toughness to your nature. I do not think I can list anyone I know like that beyond Lady Danbury.”
“Do not flatter me Miss Bridgerton. I am no different than other women of the ton besides my questionable manners,” You shrug making Daphne’s eyebrows furrow at the gesture but her lips curve up into a smile.
“No wonder Eloise adores you,” Reaching the backyard you can hear the others close behind. A small gasp leaves your lips at the view from the back porch. Your chest knots as you yearn for your fathers presence. He would love this. Violet enters the back porch last with an older woman behind her.
“Well, now, you must be weary from your travels,” Violet says. Tearing your eyes from the view you take a deep breath in to stop how rapidly your abrupt emotions rattle your nerves. William frowns as he meets your gaze, you blow a playful kiss in his direction and a smile takes his lips. You pretend not to notice his lingering eyes, you are sure he can see right through you. “Mrs. Wilson. Please show our guests to their rooms so they might get refreshed.”
You join walking back inside with Edwina and your mother. They both wear appreciative smiles, mirroring each other perfectly. You smile with them but you are certain it sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison.
“And ready for battle,” Eloise says and you turn furrowing your eyebrows with a sneaky grin.
“A battle you say?” Earning grins from both Eloise and Daphne you swiftly bury the intense emotion. No longer at the center of your attention but in a dark corner within your mind.
“I wish to know as well,” Kate says with an open smile, you feel giddy at the sight of competitive Kate. This time more vulnerable than others as you can typically convince her to join one of your schemes. You know it always ends with her lecturing you but it does not make it any less fun.
“Oh please girls, do not mind Eloise, she’s always so spirited in the country,” Violet says as she heards the three of you toward the door. You fail to turn down the amusement in your face. Eloise and Kate fall side by side walking back inside together.
“Then we have that in common,” Kate says smiling at Eloise who grins in delight. You follow behind the two of them until she goes off in her home and you follow Kate toward the rooms. After settling you sit with your leg bouncing, eagerly waiting for this game they all loudly anticipate. When the time comes to meet outside you wear a warm grin. Each of you divide up wickets to place outside. You and your sisters join Daphne around the backyard with a guard lingering by and you cannot help but find his presence odd—rather unnecessary.
“This will teach Colin. Last time, he put a wicket behind the goat barn,” Daphne says, stabbing her wicket into the ground, you walk a few feet over and stab yours into the ground in the middle of the field.
“What exactly are the rules of this game?” Kate asks. The three of you follow Daphne like a flock of baby ducks. Daphne explains Pall-Mall’s less about the rules and more about anticipation.
“Of course there is the goal of hitting your ball through each wicket. The first player to send their ball through the last wicket wins. Simple enough, though, if you are feeling devilish you can use your turn to knock an opponent’s ball as far away from their next wicket as you would like.”
“Why waste a turn if the point is to get one’s own ball through the wicket?” Edwina ask as both you and Kate grin as excitement rises for the game. Kate speaks as soon Edwina stops, “To infuriate your opponent, I gather?”
“Are you truly victorious by merely just winning, or getting a rise out of your opponents?” You bounce off your sisters with the three of you appearing in sync. Daphne’s eyebrows raise and curve up as her jaw gapes for a second. She quickly recovers, smiling at the three of you with a strong welcoming energy.
“How you seek to play the game is your choice alone. No matter what method you decide to go about it is not considered cheating other than using anything other than the mallets. Whether you choose to focus on the wickets or not, you never know what others plan to do. Know your game and your enemy,” Daphne says and Kate perks up, voicing her excitement to play the game. She walks you over by the trees to place another wicket as she explains Benedict’s a good shot but he does not enjoy conflict. “Colin is crafty. He will strike when he think you are least suspecting it so always be suspecting it. Eloise concentrates entirely on defeating her older brothers. The hope is that she gets so absorbed by them that she forgets about you. Keep in mind who will not forget about you, he will not forget about anyone. William’s like a hunter in this game you never know who he will deceive and sometimes he will just go for the wickets. He enjoys our terror when suddenly he’s sending our ball off into the horizon. I, of course, am a complete enigma who will divulge none of my secrets and well, then there is Anthony.”
“Let me guess. A most ruthless, cutthroat player,” Kate says but before anyone can react you speak between laughter, “No way he has the capacity to see past his own hubris to be successful in this game.”
“So you have both met my brother I see,” Daphne smiles as she and Kate join in on your laughter. Edwina’s smile falters at the three of you which makes Daphne's smile fall to worry, “That is not to say he has no honor. He’s usually the most genteel sportsman. Except as far as this field is concerned.”
“I’m sure the Viscount is an excellent player. We will pass a very pleasant afternoon,” Edwina says. Both yourself and Kate bite back a laugh as you offer her a supportive nod. The guards carry out a large wooden case consisting of the mallets. You all linger around it as you watch them argue over who picks first.
“Last year, we promised to let the youngest pick first,” Eloise exclaims and you grin as Anthony speaks with heavy conviction. They appear to debate so ferociously but over minuscule things without actual anger. “We pick based on alphabetical order! That is the precedent.”
“Guests go first, do Bridgertons have no decorum? It should be me every year!” William exclaims taking offense in ways you have never seen. Benedict calls him out on it being several years since William was ever a guest in any of their homes.
“Every year he uses the guest excuse as if he has not grown up here with us,” Colin rolls his eyes as they chuckle while William huffs in defeat.
Kate smiles with you as Edwina leans back to the two of you close. She appears confused as the playful tension, “It’s meant to be a game, is it not?”
“Everyone please now! The only fair thing to do is to let our invited guests choose their mallets and strike first,” Daphne says and you smile as all eyes fall on the three of you. Anthony invites Edwina to choose first and you gag as he compliments her mallet choice. You step forward eyeing each mallet until you settle on a gray one with carefully painted spots on them. Chuckles shoot through the Bridgertons and William.
“It appears you have chosen my mallet Miss Sharma,” Benedict says, forcing a smile onto his lips you could convince one that it was genuine. You spin the mallet in your palm, feeling out the weight as you offer a sardonic smile.
“That’s rather odd. It appears the mallet’s in my hands thus I have chosen my mallet,” You roll your eyes as Edwina patronizes you with her eyes but the others laugh. Colin reassures your sisters that your attitude may prove to be beneficial in such a game. As Kate steps forward you watch as the Bridgertons watch with heavy anticipation.
It does not come as a shock when Kate's hands lift the all-black mallet from the wooden case. The shared look of shock and uncertainty that surrounds you all does make your eyebrows furrow.
“The Mallet of Death,” Eloise says, looking to her elder brother much like the rest of the Bridgertons. Daphne turns to her brother with a mocking smile: William fails to bite back his laughter as Anthony glares daggers in his direction. Benedict joins William's amusement and it becomes clear Kate has chosen Anthony’s mallet.
“Is this yours?” Kate says with a grin as Anthony brings the knuckle of his pointer finger to his teeth.
“Not all. You are welcome to it,” Kate catches your grin at the sight of his forced kindness. William catches your eye sending a wink in your direction to which you chuckle.
“You threatened to beat me last time I touched—“ Colin chimes as Eloise gapes at the sight of Anthony. No matter what Colin plans to share, Anthony cuts it short with a pointed stare and sharp tone, “You exaggerate!”
“Says the one who nearly broke my arm one year over it,” William says crossing his arms over his chest as Eloise agrees.
“Are you the superstitious sort? I know some men cannot perform without their familiar tools. Like a child with a blanket,” Kate says and your jaw drops as you look at your older sister with wide eyes. The urge to laugh strong you bite on your lower lip at the sight of Edwinas uncomfortable expression. Though you show restraint it fools no one as you blink away the faint tears that threaten your eyes.
“I can play well with any mallet,” Anthony says but you do not miss your opportunity as it presents itself.
“Yet you appear stifled in the absence of your beloved mallet. Performance issues are quite common and nothing to be ashamed of,” Your mocking tone and grin earns shameless laughter around you. Both yourself and Kate blending seamlessly with the Bridgertons.
“Always a charmer Miss Sharma,” Anthony says with a smile which you return without pause. You miss how his gaze does not immediately leave you but William and Daphne silently take it in. Neither says a word when they meet each other's gaze and the moment ends as fast as it begins. Eloise seizes the moment as many of her siblings appear distracted. She acquires her mallet while Benedict takes William’s. William moves a second faster than Colin, taking his mallet in the process. Colin holds one of the extra mallets in his hand leaving with Anthony with the pink one.
“How befitting, Viscount Bridgerton.” Your tone sickenly sweet as you playfully swing your mallet. Anthony takes a half step forward narrowing his eyes at your nonchalant expression.
“Mark my words Miss Sharma. Your taunts will prove fruitless,” You only offer a smile as you bump his shoulder to join Daphne. The field begins light, much laughter and clapping as the Mamas, Lady Danbury, and the Prince watch on. Kate takes the opportunity to knock your ball from reach of the wicket.
“Didi! Do well to remember we sleep beneath the same roof,” You say as the others laugh and Kate shrugs. “Bon, do well to remember we share the same competitive nature.”
The two of you carry on this fashion for several turns. Both of you knock each other out of route when the opportunity arises. Edwina says little to nothing for much of it. You almost forget her presence as the environment swallows you whole. It’s painfully clear the Bridgertons adore your own and Kate's presence. The game of Pall-mall solidifies both of your abilities to be around the family for more than simple visits. Without prior knowledge one would assume you were long time friends with each and everyone of the Bridgerton siblings.
“Out of practice my brother,” Benedict says as Anthony misses his wicket. Kate smiles mockingly before shooting her own straight through from a similar distance. She jumps and spins happily as the rest of you clap and it’s once again your turn for the same wicket from a further distance.
“Rather easy shot is it not?” You question to know one in particular but it lands with Anthony as soon as it leaves your lips. He opens his mouth to counter your sly remark but as you hit your ball through the wicket claps silence him. You look up and tilt your head at the sight of his gaping mouth, “Were you to say something?”
“Good shot,” Anthony says, clapping slowly as you offer a false curtsy. William stands with a blank expression as he lines up his shot. He misses his wicket entirely and when you make a sly jab he only offers a cordial smile. As all of you move to the next turn you walk over and join his side.
“You’ve gone quiet. Does something trouble you?” You ask but William does not turn to meet your gaze. He mutters quickly about a headache before abandoning the conversation entirely. Anthony makes a show of his turn only to miss, which Kate follows by hitting her ball through the wicket perfectly. Once again your turn you line up your mallet as if you plan to hit toward the wicket. In the last second you turn ever slightly aiming directly at Colins. A chorus of gasps fill your ears as you all watch Colins ball soar far from the wicket.
“Now what could I ever have done Miss Sharma to deserve such treatment?” Colin chuckles but his question receives a shrug in response as the others laugh.
“I fear Miss Sharma may have been born for this game. I hold nor a single inkling of whom she may target,” Benedict says and you shrug a second time before saying that everyone’s fair game. William goes and though he has an opportunity to knock Edwina’s ball but he focuses on the wicket. He goes straight through with ease but rather than join the banter he quietly steps aside.
“Miss Edwina, I believe you are next. I did not wish to leave my ball in your path. So I left an open space so you can send yours,” Anthony joins your sister's side pointing to the open space left accessible to her.
“Is your best friend always this vomit inducing?” Nudging William’s side you chuckle to find he does not partake in your amusement. You frown as once again William blatantly ignores you. “One minute you’re asking me to be your wife and the next you won’t meet my eye. Have I upset you?”
“You could never upset me, (Y/n). I—there are things I fear may not only be in my head,” He finally meets your gaze and your mind can only think of his poem. So the pain he spoke of, now on full display. While his face does not tell a story his eyes tell it all.
“William, you speak in riddles. What is the meaning of this all?” You ask, the cheers and sighs of the others drowning away in the background. William sighs heavily and you can see he internally battles with his next move.
“I—“ Anthony makes you flinch as his voice rips you from the intensity of the conversation. He says it's your turn with the unneeded addition of challenging your courage.
“Scared? Do you project your own fear onto me?” You ask tilting your head as you mimic Anthony’s sardonic smile. Willams jaw clenches as he grips his mallet tightly with his eyes on Anthony. Your mind forgets the conversation momentarily as you line up your shot.
“Miss Sharma you are rather hilarious. What would I fear? Your sharp tongue are merely hollow words on this battlefield,” Anthony says. Your eyes on the wicket it’s a clean shot and would put you ahead of Kate, Anthony, and Colin. Though you have this opportunity Anthony continues taunting in your ear like a bird on your shoulder. Before swinging your mallet you turn your aim directly onto Anthony’s ball. You swing hard before watching his ball fly off and land by Kate’s.
“You were saying, Lord Bridgerton?” Not getting a response in the next moves both Kate and Anthony’s ball are hit into the forest. You consider dropping out not only to check on Edwina as she retires from the game early but also to confront William on his peculiar attitude. Both use the excuse of refreshments to leave the game and you are certain they are untrue. Now the only few left standing are yourself, Colin, Benedict, Eloise, and Daphne. You smile while Colin, Benedict, and Eloise bicker endlessly over the game.
“I don’t wish to overstep in affairs that are not my own but William is very fond of you. I’ve known him all my life and I have never seen him like this about anyone. You will find that no man is more devoted and caring than he,” She says, nodding your head, you offer her not a slither of your thoughts.

hear me out..you are feeling super overwhelmed and decide to go skinny dipping to cool down in the middle of the night. Anthony freaks out when he finds you in the lake and jumps in after you, only to find out you're nakeyyy
A/n: I’m very sorry this took me so long.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was hot! Too hot!
Squeezing your eyes shut you pushed off the blankets hoping to feel some relief but even the breeze from the opened window did not help. With a groan leaving your lips you slipped out of your bed. Doing your best to stay quite, you tipped toed down the hall and soon you found yourself outdoors.Closing your eyes a smiled then continued on your walk, not stopping until you reached the lake.
Biting your lip, you gave a glance around then once you were satisfied you tore off your nightgown then dove into the cold water. A blissful sigh escaping your lips as you floated in the water.
Though your thoughts were interrupted by a large splash and suddenly you were pulled into a chest. The frantic voice of your fiancé ringing in your ears. “I have you my love.”
“Anthony?!”
Stopping himself from pulling you a shore it finally dawned on the man that you were not in any danger.
“You are completely fine, you’re not in any trouble are you.”
“You are correct.” Your hands moved to his shoulders, you could feel his shirt clinging to his skin as a smile formed on your lips.
“And you are naked.”
A laugh escaped as you then pinched his cheek. “How very observant of you.” It was rather cute seeing someone as confidant as Anthony so flustered.
“Can we get out of the water please….I wish to warm my fiancé up.”
A snort escaped your lips as your pressed your head against his. “Hmm I would nothing more than for you to warm me up Anthony.”
“Good.” Anthony muttered as he gave you a gentle kiss.

MINISERIES/OTHER PARTS ARE HERE
Y / N stood on her balcony, watching the beautiful sunrise.
She couldn't sleep all night because she was just thinking about him!  And that made her very angry.
Anthony was already annoying her in her dreams.
She was also angry that he had told her he was coming for her or something like that.  She wanted to tell him at that time that she was not interested in him visiting her.
What? Did he lose his mind?  He hasn't spoken to her in years, and now??? Now when she doesn't need him anymore!
She wasn't interested in spending time with him.
She wanted to make a rough line behind him and move on.
She drank her coffee and sighed.  Then her butler came to her.
"Mylady, you have a visitor."
She raised an eyebrow, who could visit her at this time?  And she immediately paled.  I hope not Anthony himself!  No. No. No!
"Lady Danbury is waiting for you in the tea room,"
Y / N sighed with relief.  Everyone is better than Anthony.  But at the same time, she wondered why she came to visit her?
She handed the butler a tray of coffee and said, "Please tell her I'll take care of her. You can bring her some tea cakes there. Thank you."
"I see you haven't forgotten the decent ways I've taught you," a familiar voice said, and Y / N sighed.  She turned immediately.  Of course, Lady Danbury herself stood there.
"Lady Danbury," Y / N nodded, trying not to look surprised.  "What brought you here?"
"You, but we'll go for walk first."
Y / N was shocked by her response.  What did she mean by that?
"Would you rather go to the tea room, Lady?"  she asked her.
"No, honey, but thank you. Just come walk with me through your huge garden. I won't be here for long."
"Of course. Just wait please, I'll get a coat,"
***
Lady Danbury dug her stick into the misty ground and waited for Y / N.  She also was looking at her huge mansion.  And the poor girl lived in it all by herself.  Without children.  No husband.
Without someone to make her happy.
"Do you have anything new?"  Y / N asked her when she arrived.
Lady Danbury began to walk.  "No. You may be wondering why I came at such a bad time."
"It's okay. You're always welcome here."
Lady Danbury looked at her.  "I have a question. Answer honestly."
Y / N asked.  "What's the matter?"
"What do you plan to do after the season?"
Y / N stopped walking at her question.  "I told you, I'm going to the countryside and ..."
Lady Danbury interrupted her.  "That's not what I meant. What do you plan to do with your life? Do you want to live in that countryside all by yourself?"
The young girl laughed fake. If anyone could put her in an awkward situation, it was Lady Danbury.
"I don't understand what you're trying to tell me."
"Do you want to remarry?"  Lady Danbury finally asked what she was most interested in and sat down on the white bench.
Y / N also sat down.  "Um."  She didn't know how to answer.
"So?"  The lady was relentless.
"I didn't think about it, but I guess not."
"No? Do you want to stay like an old bachelor girl? No children?"
"You are also a widow and you are living a great life."  Y / N replied and Lady Danbury smiled.
"Yes. But I was old when it happened. You're still young, Y / N. You have a life ahead of you."
"Lady Danbury, I don't understand the point of this conversation."
Lady D. took a deep breath.  "You know, I promised something to your mother. I promised her that I will take care of you. That I would not allow you to live alone. Like her. But no, on the contrary, I want you to be married happily. And you know what's best? You can choose a husband, you do not have to find out his status, or his property, as a rich widow you may not care. "
"Lady Danbury, I don't think you have the right to run my life."  Y / N said.  She used to be afraid of her as a small child, but now this elderly woman did not frighten her.
"I know. The choice is yours. But please think. Your mother would wish it. Don't you want to fulfill her wish? You've been mourning Brian for a long time, wearing black mourning dresses for a long time, it's time to throw them away and start wearing dresses of brighter, happier colors. "
"I don't want to," she simply replied like a small child.
"You don't want to, yes. But you will do as I tell you. This afternoon you will welcome a nice gentleman in the tea room."
"I'm not welcoming anyone."
Lady Danbury didn't seem to hear her.  "And you can start looking for a husband. But I would personally recommend this young man. I know you are close to him and he would be a great husband."
"Who's this?"  Y / N growled though she knew who it might be.  But she hoped the Lady's response wouldn't confirm her suspicions.
"It's Anthony Bridgerton,"
And it didn't.
***
Anthony tried not to look at her, but he did.  She sat on that chair so gracefully, at the knees two hunting dogs, which she stroked and she had anger in her eyes.  That would be a great painting.
"Benedict would make a famous painting of you," he said out of nowhere and drank the brandy.
"What did you say?"  she asked.
He shrugged.  "Nothing."
"Anthony, I'll say it one last time. I don't know what Lady Danbury is thinking, but the two of us will never get together."
"Why?"  He asked.
She looked at him in disbelief.  "Why? Are you asking me? I can tell you a thousand reasons why."
He shrugged again.  "Then go ahead. I have time,"
She hissed like a nervous cat.  "I'm a widow, Tony. You're ..." she couldn't find the right word.
He raised an eyebrow.  "What I am?"
"You're ...  womanizer. We don't belong together. I long for quiet country life, live.."
"Who said I don't want the same thing, Y / N?"
"Secondly, you're my childhood friend."
"And that's the problem?"
"Yes, it is. Friends just don't get married."  she snapped, apparently she wanted to change the subject.
Anthony grinned.  "Then my sister Daphne would disagree with you."
She moaned and took her head in her hands.  "I don't know what to say anymore. I'm giving up."
He felt sorry for her.  "Do you think I would be such a bad husband?"
"No, but ..." she wiped her forehead.  She was sweaty.  She was so desperate.  She just didn't want to marry him.
You would be great husband. But not for me. For other woman.
Anthony drank his coffee and leaned toward Y / N.  "Do you remember how I always won our childhood arguments?"
He stood up and smiled in a way that only he could.  "I'll win even now."

🎁 WIPs for you 🎁
🎄🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas to all my followers who celebrate, and happy Sunday to those who do not.
Thank you so much for reading my fics, it means the world. 🥹🫶
As a little festive thank you, here are tiny snippets from FOURTEEN different WIPs
Enjoy my lovelies 😁🧡🧡
Under the cut, because most are filth…
——
1
“I can’t again,” you pant scrambling to shake him off you, the sensation too much.
“Oh yes you fucking can,” he growls holding you down with a strength you didn’t know he possessed.
——
2 ✨this is now published HERE✨
He rounds the bed to your side and, with a quirked eyebrow, whips back the duvet. There by your knee is your new sleek vibe buzzing away insistently against the mattress as you lay naked from the waist down, your T-shirt rucked up around your ribs.
He smirks crookedly, and the eyebrow raises higher, his gaze hot and heavy as it roams your body.
“What do we have here? Hmm?”
——
3 ✨this is now published HERE✨
His soulful blue eyes watch your expressions as your fingertips trail across his cheekbones, curling inwards to brush the back of your fingers down his jawline to his chin, mapping the structure of his face. There are libraries worth of literature extolling female beauty, but you’ve found precious few pieces that capture the truth of male beauty such as his.
——
4 ✨this is now published HERE✨
“Widen those knees my girl. Let’s really see those restraints working” he taps your thigh and you do as told.
——
5
“Fuck me,” you breathe.
“Hmmm, no,” he rumbles, and his teeth graze your nape. “You didn't ask nicely enough.” His tone is gruff, something in the way he says it makes static hum across your skin.
——
6. ✨this is now published HERE✨
Nuh uh uh,” you cluck. “You will let me finish, husband. Or I will just climb off and leave you unsatisfied.”
He grips your wrist, breathing heavily, staring up at you, lips parted slightly. “You... you wouldn't?” he stutters.
——
7
“Now, were you a naughty girl this year?” he asks, the hand rubbing a gentle circle over the globe of your bottom.
“Yes, Santa,” you play along, nodding. This is both entertaining and so hot you don’t know how to feel except giggly and aroused.
——
8
He dips a little lower, slotting a leg between yours as you sway to the music. When he straightens up again, the meat of his quad muscle is pressing up onto your clit, and you gasp as he smirks at you. He holds your hips and drags you up and down his thigh, taking your weight and making you see stars.
“How's that?” he crows, knowing just how much you like it by the hitches in your breath and how you claw at his shirt.
“Holy fuckkk,” you mutter as his grin gets wider and he presses his cheek to yours.
——
9 ✨this is now published HERE✨
Your dress rides up around your hips as you splay your knees wide. His eyes drop to between your legs, and you suddenly feel a throb there as he licks his lips.
“Don’t you fucking dare kiss me,” he snarls, his fiery gaze back on your face.
He’s well and truly got you there.
With a raised eyebrow, you lean forward and grab both ends of his undone bowtie and roughly pull him to you. Your mouth slanting over his.
——
10
There is a creak of antique wood as he leans back, his legs spreading a little wider, his elbows resting on the padded back of the bench seat. You see the prominent bulge in his trousers, intentionally on display for you, and you swallow heavily, almost a reflex as you remember what it's like to take it down your throat.
“Turn around,” you heed the instruction immediately, breathing a little heavier as you await his next order. There is a growl as you feel his stare heavy on your bare bottom. “Roll down your stockings, bend over as you do it,” his tone rough-edged.
——
11
“Hey, no peeking!” he murmurs into your ear as you attempt to look under the blindfold.
“What is going on, Benedict?” you whisper, a strange sensation in your belly as he leads you gently by the hand across your flat.
“I told you I have a present for you and I wanted it to be a surprise,” he answers enigmatically.
——
12 ✨this is now published HERE✨
“Why?!? Why did I let you persuade me to have another baby?” You grouse at Benedict, clamping your hands over your eyes, desperate for a reprieve from the screaming.
——
13 ✨this is now published HERE✨
You feel Benedict's strong arm wrap around your shoulders and him talking into your damp hair, encouraging loving words. Which, on one hand, you know is incredibly sweet of him—-no husband you know of has sat with his wife in the throes of childbirth. But on the other hand, you can’t deny that in this very moment you sort of want to murder him for doing this to you.
——
14 ✨this is now published HERE✨
“Daddy I don’t want more dinner can I sit on your lap please?” Amelia wheedles, already sidling over and climbing into his lap. He will never say no to his babies and she knows it.
“Just this once,” he sighs, knowing he is lying to himself.
“Why can’t I sit in your lap daddy?” Isobel pipes up “I’ve been a good girl and finished all of my dinner,” she adds, pointedly holding up her plate to prove it.
“Fine” he capitulates, knowing he will have no peace this dinnertime.

So after some Bridgerton imagines, I have certainty that Anthony could only open up to a woman if she faints, get in coma, gets ill or anything like almost dying.

are you still working on the Elijah mikaelson Bridgeton fic?
I'm sorry it took so long 😭😭 Lots of life changes have been occurring. But here it is, a small blurb of what could be the start of a series if you guys like it.
The Social Season
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x reader Summary: The Mikaelsons have returned to London for this year's social season. No girl had ever caught Elijah's eye before, until now. Word Count: 2772 Masterlist
Tumblr media
London 1814
The London social season had been in full swing by the time the Mikaelsons had returned to the city during one of Lady Danbury’s events. Elijah and his siblings had barely walked through the doors before ruthless mamas began to smooth our their daughter’s dresses while eyeing them from across the room. Elijah was the prize, certainly, but if any woman was to catch a Mikaelson son at all they would consider it a win. Rebekah had also never had a difficulty keeping her dance card full.
It was well past the first soiree of the season, but it was the first that the Mikaelson siblings had made an appearance at. The marriage-minded missus of the city (and their mamas) always kept a keen eye out for them. While they may not have had the status of the Duke, the Mikaelson family was both well known, respected, and equally as feared. Not even Lady Whistledown dared to write more than their names.
“Must we return to this god-awful city every year?” Niklaus groaned as the wave of young bachelorettes swarmed towards them.
“Speak for yourself,” Kol smiled, watching the ladies with a much different expression. “I rather like being adored.”
“Mikaelsons!” they all heard coming from the opposite direction. Upon inspection they saw none other than Anthony Bridgerton advancing towards them. Rebekah and Elijah turned toward him with bright smiles with Niklaus and Kol tended to the hoard of ladies with empty dance cards.
“Bridgerton,” Elijah greeted with a smile, meeting his arm in the middle to shake his hand in greeting.
“You’ve missed a great amount in the short few weeks you’ve been absent this season.”
“Yes, well, we had some family business to tie up back in the states across the water.”
“No matter, you are all here now. You must join our family for a promenade sometime soon so I might regale you with all the happenings from the season thus far.”
“I’m sure we’ll catch up plenty with a reading of the last couple Lady Whistledown issues,” Rebekah remarked with a small chuckle.
“Yes but surely, sister, as you know as well as I Whistledown doesn’t know everything,” Elijah corrected before turning back to Anthony with a smile. “We’ll be glad to join you, Bridgerton. You shall name the day.”
“Fantastic! Oh and we must not forget the ball my mother is hosting at our estate in the country. You’d all be welcome there as my guests if you so desire.”
“I would be honored, my lord,” Rebekah said with a smile, bowing her head slightly. It was no secret that she fancied the man. Her whole family could see it. While Rebekah had no intention of being courted or heavens forbid marrying anyone, she could still dream about the life she might live were she able to. The beautiful family that might surround her. The number of children she and the viscount might have been able to have together. But that was nothing more than a fantasy. Precisely the reason that Elijah was hardly ever seen taking any young ladies to the floor. He felt it foolish to fill them with futile hopes of him proposing. Every respectable lady of the ton desired marriage, children, a real family. Something none of the Mikaelsons would be able to provide.
Nonetheless, the Mikaelsons always appeared before the ton each year during the height of the social season just long enough to maintain appearances. Not to mention, Kol had not found an easier afternoon snack than that of a young lady hoping for a betrothal. They never killed any of the members of the ton, of course. Such a high standing society member would surely be missed. Nothing a bit of the vampires’ own blood and a little compulsion couldn’t resolve.
“You must meet my dear cousin,” Anthony stated after a brief moment. “She’s come to live with us after the passing of her mother, my aunt.”
Anthony turned as he beckoned you over to them. Elijah sighed as he looked down at his feet, readjudsting his posture to be more proper as he awaited your arrival. When his eyes met yours, however, his reluctance towards the introduction vanished.
“Mikaelsons,” Anthony continued. “This is my cousin, miss Y/n Ledger.”
“A pleasure,” you said with a polite smile and a perfect curtsy.
“The pleasure is mine,” Elijah replied quickly, offering his hand for you to take. Once you softly placed your hand into his, Elijah brought it ever so slowly up to his lips as he touched the softest kiss to your gloved hand; an action that did not go unnoticed by Rebekah, nor the ravenous mamas behind them. Elijah was not one to give more than a curt nod to young ladies introducing themselves. “Lady Ledger-”
“Just miss Ledger,” you corrected. “Lady Ledger was my grandmother.”
While the response was simple, it answered many of Elijah’s questions. For one, you were not married. If you had been married you would either hold a title as a lady or hold a different last name than your grandmother. Second, your mother was not married. Had your father been a Ledger himself, your mother would hold the title of Lady Ledger, not your grandmother. As that title is still her grandmother’s to hold, your mother hadn’t married a lord to gain the title herself. Thirdly, she must be related to the Bridgertons through the sister of the current vicountesses Bridgerton.
“Pardon me, Miss Ledger. Would you care to do me the honor of a d-”
“Y/n, surely you must join me for a cool glass of lemonade,” Rebekah interrupted, linking her arm through yours as she dragged you away to the drinks table.
Elijah stood dumbfounded as you both walked away. Rebakah knew it was improper to interrupt, but after living for 800 years she couldn’t come to care. Elijah watched your expression closely. He expected a protest, or for you to at least look back towards him. There wasn’t a chance you didn’t catch what he wanted to ask you. Any other lady would have jumped at the opportunity to be led to the floor by a Mikaelson. Especially by Elijah, being the eldest for all intents and purposes.
As soon as the two of you were gone, Elijah was swarmed by the ton much like his brothers were just moments before. Nikalus and Kol could not agree to another single dance, having agreed to partner with a different lady for each one, so naturally the crowd has turned next
‘’ towards both Elijah and Anthony, knowing this was the season the viscount longed to secure a wife.
Anthony looked towards Elijah with raised eyebrows as he let out a deep sigh before having to face the wolves.
---
As the week went on, Elijah and Rebekah agreed to join the Bridgerton family in a turn about the park in Mayfair. Rebekah loved their family. She envied Violet’s ability to have so many children. A life she longed for herself. Elijah, on the other hand, wanted to know more about you.
“Bridgertons,” Elijah greeted the family with a nod as they approached. “Miss Ledger,” he said toward you.
“My lord,” you greeted back with a smile and a small bow.
“Would you care for a turnabout the lake?” he offered, holding his arm out for you.
“Oh,” you said with a slight tone of surprise, looking back at the Bridgerton family. Before you could find the words to accept or deny, Violet spoke up for you.
“She would love one,” Violet beamed with a nod, pulling you forward to take his arm.
You chuckled in defeat as you wrapped you arm around his, hand resting on the crook of his elbow.
The two of you had barely gotten ten feet from the rest of the family before he bagan to bombard you with questions. You didn’t mind, of course. Most most began conversations this way, especially when “interviewing” their potential matches.
“So I really must ask,” he began. “How is it that you’re not married yet?”
You chuckled at his question, one of the ones you expected to hear first. “Well, my mother had me out of wedlock. If it wasn’t for or connection to the Bridgertons then I would be labeled a bastard child and thrown out of society entirely. Instead, my mother trained me from a young age so I could have the perfect match. She was determined. Too determined. Her determination ended up turning away a lot of possible suitors.”
As you spoke, you noticed Elijah was genuinely interested in what you had to say. He wasn’t spaced out as you rambled on, he didn’t seem annoyed or simply waiting for you to be finished. He wanted to know about you. About your life.
“As the seasons past, and I got older, everyone began to lose interest. I’ve been officially put ‘on the shelf’ as they would call it, at the ripe age of three and twenty.”
“Yet you still attend events with the rest of the ton?” he questioned.
“Living with the Bridgertons comes with a surplus of invitations,” you explained with a smile. “And Eloise needs encouragement through her first season.”
Elijah let out a laugh at that. “I pity any man who tries to tame her.”
“Not possible,” you rebutted with a laugh of your own. “Eloise is one horse that cannot be tamed.”
As you continued to walk, you noticed many eyes turned to stare at the two of you.
“And what of you?” you asked him. It was his turn to answer your questions.
“What of me?”
“Surely you have your number of available matches. Why have you gone so long without securing one?”
Elijah chucked while glancing to the floor, watching your feet walk in sync. “In truth I’ve never had the desire to settle down with anyone,” he explained. “It didn’t seem like the type of life I was meant to live.”
“And now?” you asked. Both of your steps had halted as you turned to face one another, his eyes searching yours as if trying to find the words to answer you.
“Now…” he began, not truly knowing what his answer was. “Now, I’m not sure what the future holds for me.”
The two of you stayed in silence you a couple moments longer, stuck searching the others eyes for answers to questions you didn’t know. It wasn’t until you remembered where you were that you tore your eyes from his, clearing your throat.
“We should make our way back,” you said simply. “They’ll be serving tea under the gazebo soon. Would you and your sister care to join us?”
It was Elijah’s turn tp clear his own throat, facing back towards the path in front of you as he continued to walk.
“Indeed,” he nodded. “That would be quite agreeable.”
After a few moments of silence, you spoke up again. “You must join us in Aubrey Hall next week.”
“Yes, Lord Bridgerton mentioned retiring to the country for a ball his mother is hosting.”
“He’s invited the Sharma family to join us before the rest of the invited guests arrive, I insist your family do the same.”
“Are you certain?” he asked with raised eyebrows. “We would not wish to be a burden.”
“It’s no trouble at all,” you assured him. “There is plenty of space and I could use the company while Anthony is busy in his dance of courtship. I shall discuss it with the family upon our return.”
As the two of you walked back towards the Bridgertons, you felt eyes on you left and right. Both lords and ladys staring at the pair of you with two feelings on their mind. Confusing and envy.
---
As the Mikaelsons dismounted from their carriage at Aubrey Hall, the entirety of the Bridgerton family was waiting to greet them.
“Lord Mikaelson,” Violet smiled, greeting him with open arms.
“Elijah, please,” he corrected, bowing his head slightly towards her. “You’ve invited us to be guests in your home, its only fair that you might call us by our given names. You know my sister, Rebekah,” he continued, motioning towards his siblings. “And might I introduce my brother, Niklaus and Kol.”
“A pleasure, Lady Bridgerton,” Kol greeted with a bow of his own, followed by Niklaus.
“You have a lovely home,” he spoke up with a warm smile.
“While you’re here you may think of it as your own,” Violet began before motioning towards the front doors. “Please, we were just about to sit down for tea. The Sharmas should be arriving any moment.”
As the group walked into the house, Elijah’s face lit up with a smile seeing you sitting in the parlor, waiting for everyone else.
“My lord,” you smiled, standing up to offer a quick curtsy. “I’m pleased you could make it.”
Elijah grabbed your hand before your eyes raised to meet his, bringing it once more up to lightly caress it with his lips. Your breath hitches in your throat as this time, you weren’t wearing your gloves.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” his said, looking back at you with a smile, you hand staying in his while he looks up at you.
His eyes held yours for another moment before you heard a throat clear behind you. Elijah turned to see Kol with a sly smirk on his face.
“Ah, yes, miss Ledger allow me to introduce my brothers, Kol and Niklaus.”
Both men in question smiled warmly as they each gave the the girl a quick bow.
“Brother,” Elijah continued. “I’d like you both to meet miss Y/n Ledger. Cousin to the Bridgertons.”
“Pleased to make your acquaintance,” you said with a smile of your own, giving a small curtsy.
“Miss Ledger,” Niklaus starting, stepping forward to be next to Elijah. “I hear you’re quite the artist. I myself dabble in painting every now and again, I’d love to see your work.”
Elijah looked towards his brother uneasily. Anyone who overheard him may have taken his comment as a kind remark, but Elijah didn’t miss the calculating grin on his face. He had an agenda.
“An artist?” Elijah repeated with a slight tone of surprise. He wasn’t sure how his brother came to know this.
“Yes, brother. I’ve done my research,” Klaus answered back simply.
“Oh,” you began, a bit take off guard by his knowledge of you. “Well I’ve tried my hand at painting every now and again, but Benedict is the true artist of the family. It’s him you’d be wanting to speak with about it.”
“Miss Ledger I don’t recall ever seeing you on the dance floor,” Kol spoke up next. “You must allow me to lead you sometime. I am, after all, the best dancer in the family.”
“Perhaps the best male dancer,” Rebekah spoke up, seemingly appearing beside him. “Both of you, stop overwhelming the poor girl.”
“Oh, I really don’t mind, Lady Mikaelson.”
“Rebekah, please,” she almost scoffed. “Titles make me feel much too old.”
“I couldn’t possibly-”
“I insist,” she interrupted. “In any case, we are all most comfortable being called by our given names. When one hears the name ‘Mikaelson’ being thrown from across the ballroom we never know for who it is intended for.”
“Very well, Rebekah. Then you all must call me Y/n. Especially here in the country, away from the rules of London society.”
“Lord Mikaelson,” Violet could be heard from behind, approaching the small group in the parlor.
“Again, Elijah really is fine,” he corrected again with a chuckle.
“Elijah,” she repeated, a warm smile on her face. “You really must allow Y/n to take you on a tour of the grounds. I hear you’re quite the reader and my late husband, Edmund, had quite the collection in his library.”
“But aunt Violet,” you started before Elijah could give an answer. “I told the kitchen staff that I would assist in serving the tea.”
Violet waved you off. “I shall send down Eloise to help them. You go on and show Elijah your uncle’s library upstairs.”
“I would love to see it,” Elijah added, urging you with his smile.
“Very well,” you nodded. Elijah help out his arm, motioning for you to go first, following close behind as you led him up to the Bridgerton’s library.
“Might they be needing a chaperone, Lady Bridgerton?” Rebekah asked her with a sly grin, catching onto Violet’s schemes.
“I’m not sure as to who you are referring,” she replied with an innocent shrug, turning back to return to the rest of her family.

Thank you so much!!
Pairing: Benedict Bridgerton x reader
warning: just cute fluff
summary: you and benedict have been friends since childhood and you tell benedict your parents want you get married this season
prompt 1 : I think I love you
You arrive at the Bridgeton's at step down for the carriage thanking the person who helped you. You first got lead to the drawing room but no one was in there so you snook your way to Benedict's art room.
You knock on his door and hear benedict say "come in". Walking into his art room you see him painting on his canvas.
"Hello Benedict" he looks up and smiles and you don't miss how he quickly checks you out"Y/n I didn't expect to see you today"
"Really? I usually see you most days" you reply, you walk over to the couch and sit down. "what are you working on can I see?"
"uhh I-I" he stammers "you can never see an artist work till it is finished" he replys.
You raise an eyebrow being confused ad he usually shows you his unfished work but decide not to push the subject.
"well I have some news" Benedict takes a sip of his tea "my parents want me to attend this season and find a suitable man to marry"
Benedict spits his tea all over his painting and your eyes widen and you stand up "Benedict your painting".
He looks up at you "w-what did you say, your getting married?" You can't help but laugh.
Once you calm your self down you look back at Benedict "No well yes but not right now first I have to find a good man " "But why"
"Well my older sister god marries last season so luckily I don't need to marry anyone with a high rank but they want to be taken care of" You say.
Benedict walks over to you " I will not let you marry anyone" He says sternly" Your taken back by what he says.
"Why not!"
He wraps his arm around your waist and you gasp "Benid-" "I think I love you" Benedict says.
"I think I have loved you since we were children"
You look into his eyes and your own soften "are you sure because i think does not make you sound sure"
He grips you tighter "I am sure and I 100 percent want to marry you tonight just so I can kiss you"
He starts to get down on one knee but you catch him and make him stand up.
Benedict smiles once you he sees you laughing "Benedict you know i will say yes if you ask me to marry you right now but hoe about we do it in front of your family , we don't want to get caught being alone and cause a scandal"
"We will do it tomorrow then my love" You have already been improper so you decide one more time wont harm and you places your arms around Benedict's neck and hug him tight

the same person who asked this
Hi there. Can I request a Anthony Bridgeton x ftm reader slightly set in modern era where they have twins and Anthony's family loves the reader and is okay with there relationship. I just want fluff with a (little too big of a) dash of angst. Something domestic where they go on a vacation and them all running around the garden and at the end of the night after the twins go to sleep y/n and Anthony spend time alone just talking, cuddling and swaying to music while looking in each other's eyes...im just a simp for fluff and angst.
Sorry if this is too specific or non-specific and if you don't feel like writing it then it's cool. Thank you ❤️
Just Shut Up and Kiss Me
FTM Reader
Pronouns- He/Him
Word Count- 523
Summary- After a long day at the ocean with the twins, you and Anthony finally get some quality time together.
A/N- MODERN TIME PERIOD! It's not exactly like the request I hope you still like it :)
Sorry for the lateness I've said in another post but it is due to the Flu and I have many chronic illnesses so it took me a while to get back to baseline.
Tumblr media
The twins were more rambunctious than they were at the estate which I did not even know was possible. I guess vacations bring out the energy in all of us. We spent the day together at the ocean and they could not contain their excitement.
To be honest, though any public body of water raises my anxiety. Even after top surgery, I feel like I should be wearing a shirt but Anthony eases my nerves. He has been with me through it all even if he was a bit uneducated about the subject at first. Eloise helped him research everything about top surgery and we played board games all throughout my recovery. Anthony acts as quite the buffer as well, his handsomeness certainly distracts from me. Anthony still encourages me to feel good in my skin with the salacious comments he whispers in my ear. Even with his encouragement, it is still very tiring to fight those feelings all day.
I am grateful that the kids poured all their energy into creating intricate sand castles and destroying them. By the time we got to the summer home, the kids were so exhausted they passed out the minute their head hit their pillows. I felt exhausted myself from the sun, the crazy twins, and many emotions of the day. After tucking the children in I planned on going to sleep but Anthony had other ideas.
"Come on darling I have something to show you," Anthony says dragging me away from the twin's room practically giving me no choice.
"Anthony what has you in such a tizzy," I laugh at his usual antics.
"I just want to show you something as mesmerizing as your eyes," He says with a goofy grin.
I blush and try to hide my face, "Stop you're going to make me gag."
"You know you love my romantic words," he laughs deeply.
I roll my eyes, "Don't get too full of yourself."
"You already know I am full of myself that's why you married me handsome." He smirks
"Yeah, sure that's why," I laugh.
"Enough of denying how perfect my personality is look up," he says gesturing to the sky.
I go to make some stupid witty remark when I look to the sky.
"There are so many stars here you never see this many in London!" I gasp in awe.
"I have always wanted to take you here ever since I met you Y/N. The moment I saw your eyes they always sparkle when you are talking about something you are passionate about just like these stars."
I feel my whole face start to turn red which in turn makes my face even redder because now I am embarrassed about being embarrassed what a vicious cycle. I try to turn away to sass Anthony about being too gooey again but he pulls my face towards his.
"Don't you ever hide your feelings my love because you make every emotion a work of art." He says suavely making me want to smack him.
I roll my eyes, "Just shut up and kiss me."
"That I can do," he smirks wickedly.

DISCLAIMERS
-   This is fiction. Please always talk to your partner before doing anything and make sure they are ok with what you are doing beforehand
The next morning you awaken, the memories of the night before a haze due to your intoxicated state. Thinking you’d dreamt most if not all of it, you stood up and pulled your night dress off of yourself. You let out a small sigh as you get dressed. You head to the dining room for breakfast and sit down. Benedict, Daphne and Eloise all having their food. You join them in their conversations when you hear the chair opposite yours move. You look to see Anthony sit opposite you. You make eye contact for mere seconds but you go red and have to break it immediately. It may have been a dream but you can’t help feel flustered. He smiles softly and also joins in the small talk. A cough from the front of the room catches all of your attentions. You look to see one of your servants looking a little concerned. Yoji stand up, worst fears going through your mind. “You have some guests. They are in the hallway” you nod and excuse yourself and make your way to the entrance of the house. All four of them follow you though, intrigued by this guest.
“Fucking hell! Who do I have to screw to get a house like this?” you see your two best friends at the door. You squeal from excitement and run over to them and embrace them both. They both hug you in return “We kept getting your letters and we thought we’d come visit you and see if it was as good as you were describing”
“It is by the looks of it” you nod and pull away from the hug. You turn and see the four Bridgeton’s looking in confusion. You smile
“Umm, these are some of my best friends. Lily and Ivy. Guys, these are the Bridgeton’s. Daphne who’s married to Simon, Anthony and Benedict, her older brothers. Then Eloise her younger sister” Daphne smiles
“How do you know Emily then?”
“Us three used to work together. Before she came here that is” Lily looks at you and admires your dress “gosh you look like a posh prick. No offence you guys” she motions with her hands for you to twirl, which you oblige. “Shit you look hot in that”
“Thanks love” you see her admire the fitting of the body “Honestly you are so talented. Assuming you made it yourself?” You nod as you hear Ivy starts a conversation with the other three. Ivy talking to Daphne, Eloise and Benedict as Anthony joins you and Lily. You smile at him before avoiding eye contact as you feel your cheeks start to flush. Lily smiles at him, introducing herself. He takes her hand and kisses the back of it
“It’s an honour to meet you. I’ve heard some wonderful things about you” She giggles and looks away from him, giving you a look as she proceeds to point at your female friend
“Ivy has just got a deal at work”
“Really?” she nods and smiles
“Going to go in for a high up job in the fashion industry. Certainly pays more than in the factory”
“Oh that’s amazing news!”
“Do you also make clothes?” Anthony asks. Lily shales her head
“No. Ivy is the talented one. I tried making clothes before but I have about as much talent as a pile of shit” you roll your eyes as he looks startled at her language
“I apologise for the improper speech my friend has”
“Wasn’t that in itself improper speech?” he chuckles and makes eye contact witty you briefly before looking back at her
“Its ok ma’am” he smiles at her
“Aren’t there more of them?” your friend queries you as you nod
“A lot of them are outside feeding the ducks”
“Tell me you have a pond”
“I don’t just have a pond. I have a lake”
“You are a lucky bastard you now that right? God” she gasps and clutches your arm in excitement “I’m going to go swimming. You’re going to join me” she grins at you. Anthony laughing at your discomfort. Lily looks at him and smiles evilly “I don’t know why you look so smug. Your also joining us” she grabs his hand “Where is the lake?” she looks at you expectantly “And if you don’t tell me I will annoy you until you do” you sigh and lead her into the garden, telling Ivy where you were heading.
As soon as Lily sees the lake she squeals in excitement. She quickly disrobes down to her undergarments then runs and jumps into the water. You pick up her dress fold it slightly. “Come on in its lovely in here” you go to undo your dress get your hair caught in the top part.
“Ow, ow ow. Umm. Can… can you help me?” you look at Anthony who looks slightly uncomfortable at the situation but he comes over to help you anyway, carefully untangling your hair for you and undoing the top clasp, his fingers brush against the back of your neck and you feel your heartbeat quicken at the slightest touch. You quickly pull away, trying to hide your flushed face as you undo the rest of your dress and strip to your corset and underwear. You turn to face him, noticing his face starting to go pink as he moves his gaze away from you. “You coming?”
“Excuse me?”
“Are you coming in?” you motion at the water. He shakes his head slightly and watches you run and jump in with your friend. You friend swims over to you
"So do you have a crush on him?” she whispers to you
“Excuse me?” she raises an eyebrow
“I saw how you looked at him”
“I-I may have had a dream about him last night which has me a bit flustered tonight” she nods knowingly. You watch as the four others leave the house and come over to join the one on the bank. Eloise looking like she wants to join you but Daphne saying something to her
“I think that they think I’m an improper lady”
“You are” you hit her “I’m sorry you’re in your underwear in water that probably has so much fish and duck shit in. You aren’t a lady” she smiles and nudges you “but who cares. You have so much money and because of that power to do whatever the fuck you want” you nod slightly
“I suppose so. Anyway, how’s your life been? Anything new been happening?” Before she can answer you then hear a splash and notice Eloise managed to convince her elder siblings to let her join you. You smile at her as she approaches
“What are you talking about?”
“I just asked my friend how life was”
“I can’t complain about it. I’ve had better days but I’ve had worse” she half smiles at you, obviously not wanting to go into too much details about her personal life around the girl she’s only just met.
“Shall we head back to land?” you ask as your friend nods and you all swim back over. You get out and give both girls a hand up. Then finding a nice bit of grass and lie down, letting the sun dry you before placing your clothes back on. Your friend sits next to you and Eloise nervously lies next to you. Your friend turns towards you
“When are you having a ball? If you say you’ve already had one and I wasn’t invited then it’s the end of our friendship” you chuckle
“I’ve not yet had a ball. They think I should host one next week but I’m shit at hosting things” You hear Daphne cough above you and give you a look “Sorry. I meant I’m not very good at hosting”
“Oh come on. We used to have great parties”
“Yeah, the ones we used to get invited to. We didn’t host them”
“Yeah but they were great fun”
“If you do any of that stuff at my ball I will throw you out”
“God you’re no fun”
“No, I just like it the idea of you not giving one of the party goers a bad spine”
“It’s not my fault he was shit in bed” you hit her leg “Sorry, I meant to say was he wasn’t the best man I’ve ever had”
“Not better to clarify”
“How can a man be good in bed?”
“It means if they snore or not. If they don’t snore then they are good in bed” you hear slight chuckling behind you, tilting your head you see that the three older Bridgeton’s and Ivy were sat behind you, Benedict snickering to himself at your comment. “It’s true. I don’t know what else it would mean, unless you want to elaborate” he shakes his head
“Certainly not”
“Exactly” you turn to your friend “But I don’t know, I think it’ll be bad. Just get a tonne of alcohol and hope everyone drinks loads so none of them remember” you hear Ivy laugh behind you
“Yeah cause that always works and it’s never just you getting intoxicated”
“Shut up. What do people even do at posh parties?” you turn to look at your four higher class friends. Eloise snickers
“Try not to let guys tread on your toes as they all attempt to dance”
“Shit do I need to dance?”
“Umm, yes?”
“Shit. I don’t think I know any dances”
“Yeah you do”
“Not suitable ones. Shit”
“A lady really shouldn’t use such vulgar language” you hear Daphne say
“Yeah I know” you pat down your body and feel its dry so stand up. “Right, dresses on then time to learn some dances” you brush the grass off of the back of your legs and walk over to the dress you hung up. Slipping it back over your body and doing it up, you place one hand out in front of you to where you think a man’s shoulder would be and then proceed to look confused “where does my other hand go?” Ivy stands up and takes one hand in hers and places the other hand on her shoulder
“Like this” she places a hand on your waist “Now a simple dance is back one foot then forward the other, but you need to remember to do a little bit of something with your hips. Especially as you are a woman, hips are the thing you want to show off. They are one of the more attractive features to a man subconsciously as it shows how good you are at bearing children. So I’d put one foot back then do a hip thing whilst lifting your foot, then go back forward”
“I can’t see what you mean” she sighs and motions at Anthony plus Lily.
“Lily come here. Can you lead her and just copy what I do so she can copy what Lily does?” She says to the eldest brother who nods and stands, offering his hand to you which you take in yours
“So hold my hand, put that one on your shoulder and then this one goes on your hip” you turn to face Lily and try to copy how she moves, accidently treading on his toes several times and apologising for it every time. You let go of him after a while and shake your head
“I’m just going to give up. You guys can all dance so nicely and I just look like a ferret” Ivy laughs. Lily clasps her hands together in excitement
“Does that mean I’m actually better at something then a Lady? Oh look at me. I’m a right posh one I am” she laughs then covers her mouth in embarrassment “I’m sure you guys don’t talk or act like that...” you laugh and sit on the floor and hug your knees.
“Is it lunch time yet. I’m starved”
“Do we get to eat posh food?” you nod and smile
“Well, I still cook most of it but it’s in multiple pans rather than just the one”
“Very, very posh indeed then” you help Eloise put her dress back on, seeing your friend is able to put hers on on her own.
After lunch you sit once again in the library, reading a book. A knock on the door brings you out of the story “Come in”, expecting it to be one of your friends. Anthony walks in. You smile at him “Hi, I wasn’t expecting it to be you” he nods and shuts the door.
“I just thought I’d come and see how you were, your friend with the colourful language is having a bath and your other friend is talking to Daphne I believe” you nod and pat the sofa next to you. He comes over and sits down “your friends are very... intense”
“Yeah, Lily doesn’t really have any social boundaries and Ivy is quite shy. But I love them both and couldn’t picture my life without them” he nods and leans back into the corner of the sofa, eyes watching you. You feel your cheeks go a slight pink under his gaze but shake it off as nothing. “Why did you come in here?”
“I wanted to chat. Just us two. Away from prying eyes” you nod “I-I can’t remember much from last night. I remember us talking but that’s about it”
“Wait we talked last night?” he nods slowly
“Do you not remember?” you shake your head
“I thought I dreamt it all to be honest” you chuckle nervously “I think I need to make less strong drinks in the future” he chuckle and nods. He leans forward and moves a strand of hair behind your ear. You try to control your breathing as he gets closer to you. “Sorry that was... wrong” he moves his hand away but you shake your head. “I respect you a lot and I don’t want to do anything to make you uncomfortable” he says in a stricter tone. More to himself then you. You turn to look at him again. Eyes fixated on his lips. He smiles slightly.
“I respect you too” you whisper out as he nods.
“I’ll see you at dinner m’lady” he gives you a small smile before he stands up, exiting the room.
-
Over the next few days you all get along nicely, but when you mention a ball the Bridgeton’s say they will help you plan one. So after about a week of planning, arranging and sending out invites it finally comes to the day of your ball. You nervously pace around your room. Daphne comes in and gently places her hand on your shoulder “You will be fine. Mama will help you as much as you need as she is an expert with parties such as this” you nod
“Do I look ok?”
“You look beautiful”
“I think I might vomit”
“Don’t do that. You’ll ruin your lovely dress” you nod and wave your hand in front of your eyes to try and hold back tears. She smiles kindly at you and holds her arm out for you to take which you do. She leads you down the stairs, your guests waiting for you in the hallway of your house. Lily is the first to speak
“You look amazing Emily”
“Thank you my love”
“Honestly, that dress makes your tits look amazing” you roll your eyes at her as you now feel every pair of eyes subconsciously look at your chest and then back at your face.
“God I may pass out”
“Don’t do that” Daphne calms you by your side, gently patting your arm “Anthony can you help her please” he comes over and offers his arm in replacement to which you take.
“I don’t understand why I need a man with me. I’ve seen some of the people coming, I’m not going to run off with any of them I can tell you that” you flatten the front of your dress. Anthony leans in to you slightly
“Don’t mess with the dress, you look perfect” you nod and tighten your grip on him
“I feel like a high class prostitute” he looks astonished by what you said but lets out a small smile
“You look like a lady” you smile at him as the first guests arrive.
After about 20 minutes the majority of guests have arrived. Due to your upbringing, you have guests of all classes and backgrounds there. You did not want to discriminate against anyone just because of their family. Benedict and Eloise come over to join you and Anthony (him having not left your side as a form of comfort) as you notice a specific man come in. The arm holding onto Anthony’s tightens “What is wrong?”
“He... why is he here?” you whisper. You feel the brothers exchange a look. Although you remain linked with his arms you feel Anthony gently take your hand in his, holding onto it for comfort. You shake your head and look at the eldest brother pleading for him to help.
“I cannot ask him to leave. It is improper of me. I am sorry” you look at the younger siblings
“You can ask him to leave. We cannot as it is not our house. But it is your house”
“Why don’t you like him?” Eloise questions
“Hess not a nice man... is that his wife? Jesus how did he manage to get such a pretty wife. She looks about 10 though” you take in a breath “Maybe he’s changed. I doubt it but who knows. Maybe he’s no longer a high class wanker”. That’s when what you dreaded might happen starts to happen. He sees you and brings himself and his wife over to you. You break eye contact with him and stare at the hand holding yours.
“Hello my dear. It’s been so long! What, must’ve been about 3 years?” you nod as you feel tears in your eyes. That dreaded night coming back to you
“3 years and 2 months I believe, to be exact” you mentally shake yourself and motion at the Bridgeton siblings surrounding you “Eloise, Benedict and Anthony Bridgerton” they all nod at each other, Anthony lets go of your hand as he puts it out towards the man to greet him
“This is my wife” you smile at her “where is your husband then?” you shake your head
“No I’m not married”
“Why not?”
“If I marry then all my fortune that I’ve earned has to go under his name even though I was the one who earned it in the first place”
“I never even thought about that!” you hear Eloise exclaim
“Hmm” the gentlemen says “I would’ve though with the amount of men at least one of them would want to marry you. I suppose men like undamaged flowers though don’t they” you tense up at his words “I mean seriously. How could a man want to marry you with your dress being so short? Practically just begging for it. That dress is...” he eyes you up and down “well you look like a common whore. Just like your mother” you grit your teeth as the two Bridgerton men go to say something put you put a hand up to silence them
"I am not a whore”
“You could’ve fooled me” You finally make eye contact with him. Hate filling your eyes “I bet you are. How else would you be able to get a house like this? Probably doing sinful things with the real man of the house. Wanting you to dress up like one of his play things”
“I am NOT a whore. I am a NOT some sort of plaything for you or anyone for that matter. I am a woman. No. I am a lady. And you. You are just a boy. I will dress how I want because this is MY house” you let go of the brothers arm and bend down to the hem of your dress, ripping it at the side continuingly up until your whole leg is on show “Now, I want you to leave MY house before I take whatever little manhood you have between your legs and shove it up your own ass” he looks flabbergasted at your words. His wife also looking shocked
“You cannot-”
“Oh but I just did” you take a step closer to him “get the fuck out” you see him and his wife hurriedly walk out of your house. You turn to look at the three who are looking awestruck at you. Eloise is the first to speak
“That was amazing!” you smile at her
“God that was liberating”
“He must’ve done something really bad to you for you to act like that” you nod
“He wasn’t a very nice man” you take her hands “if a man ever tries to tell you to do something and you don’t want to, no matter what, tell him no. You owe men nothing. Do whatever makes you happy. And if he doesn’t take no for an answer, tell him to go fuck himself” you smile at her and hug her. Benedict coughs slightly
“Eloise shall we go and dance?” she nods and takes his arm, leaving you and Anthony by the side of the room
“I am sorry”
“Why?”
“Because he-”
“You are not him so you do not need to apologise” he nods as you look down at your dress “I liked this outfit” he chuckles
“I think that speech and action was worth ruining your dress though, don’t you agree?” you nod and smile up at him. He offers you his hand “I’d like to see how much you remembered from our dance lesson a few days ago”
“Oh... I remember nothing about that and I value your, well, everything to be seen dancing with someone who will likely make a fool of you” he chuckles and takes your hand anyway, leading you to the dance floor. You place a hand on his shoulder and the other in his hand “this is correct, yes?” he nods and places his hand on your waist. You dance around the room, managing to not step on his toes at all. You finish and clap with excitement “I did that perfectly” he chuckles “now I want to get-” you think for a second “I don’t know how to word it in a ladylike manner so excuse me. But I want to get shitfaced” he smiles slightly as you pull him over to the drinks you had for people. Picking up a glass for him, you hear Violet come over to you and give you a smile
“My dear, your dress is ripped” you nod
“Yeah, I think it adds to my look”
“People are looking though”
“And? It’s just a leg. We all own them”
“It’s just. It’s not proper” you roll your eyes
“Should I get dressed?” she nods and smiles at a couple of people who walk past, giving you a disgusted look “wow. Who knew so many people would get offended by a leg” you hold your hand out to Anthony “come with me?”
“Oh my dear he-”
“I’m sorry I either get dressed with him as my escort or I stay down here with my legs on show” you smile at her kindly as you head upstairs with him. You go into your room “Leave the door open. Looks less like a scandal if it’s open” he nods and admires the art around the room as you take your dress off and search your wardrobe for a new and acceptable dress.
“This painting is very good” You look over at him and the picture he is admiring
“Thanks. I painted it”
“Really?” you nod and pull the dress on over you head.
“I painted that one and that one in this room. I modelled for that one” you point at various paintings
“That’s you?” you nod
“Ivy painted me and I fancied it so much I asked her if I could buy it from her. She told me not to be so stupid and gave it to me as a present. She only requests now that if people ask who painted it I say her so that people may buy her art” he nods
“Surely it’d be better in a more public room so more people can see to admire it though?”
“I already feel very big headed having a picture of myself hanging in my house. I don’t need it on display for everyone to see how big headed I am” he laughs slightly
“No I suppose you’re right” he takes a sip of his drink and holds his arm out to you again. You smile and take it, heading downstairs. Lily runs over to you as soon as you once again reach the party, taking your hands in her own.
“Benedict told me that he turned up again. My love are you ok?” she strokes your cheeks and looks into your eyes. She was expecting to see sadness or fear but instead she saw a warmth. Happiness. She furrows her brows as she looks at you then at Anthony. “I am glad you are ok” she kisses you on the forehead as a sign of affection. “You are loved and if he ever shows his face again I will kick him so hard in his dick he’ll see stars” you laugh slightly
“Thank you. I am ok now. I told him to fuck off”
“She did. It was a weirdly amazing scene to watch play out” you hear the oldest brother say behind you. Daphne comes over to you three
“Brother. Mama said we are leaving tonight. She said that it only seems right that we leave Lady Garcia a good night’s rest before we wear her out”
“Don’t be silly. I am happy for you all to stay longer” she shakes her head
“I must also get back to tend to some duchess duties. I fear I may have left my husband for too long. But we shall come and visit you again once I have had our child if that is ok?”
“You are welcome back anytime Daphne. You and the whole family are kind and good people and I’ve had the greatest honour of being in your company” she smiles at you and bows slightly before leaving. Lily smiles at you
“M’lady. Would you let me have the honour of getting drunk with you” she asks as you smile and take her arm.
“I’d be honoured m’lady” looking at the eldest son “would you care to join?” He shakes his head
“I am going to go and join my family” he bows to you both slightly before walking away. You both smile as you go over and pour yourselves a glass of whiskey. Both starting to intake a large quantity of alcohol, Eloise comes over to join you
“What are you drinking?”
“Whiskey. Would you like some?” your friend offers
“Yes. Yes. My brothers never let me have drinks” you hand a glass before Anthony comes over once again
“Thank you” he says as he takes the glass from her hand and sips it
“Let the poor girl have a drink” he shakes his head
“Mother would kill me if she knew I’d let her drink”
“Meanie” you exclaim, pouring another drink for yourself “try some my love” you offer her your glass “if you enjoy it I shall pour you your own one and I’ll threaten to beat your brother if he tries to stop you” he laughs at your words as Eloise takes a sip and grimaces at the taste
“That is foul” you nod and take a sip
“So I take it you don’t want one?” she coughs but look at all three of you then nods
“Give me a glass” the brother goes to object but you simply cover his mouth as you pour a fresh glass with one hand. His eyes soften when you meet his gaze
“It is a party. Let the girl have a drink” you move your hand away “Also, if you guys are leaving today then I don’t have to have the responsibility of looking after her tomorrow morning” you drink the rest of your drink and place down the cup. Daphne walks over to you
“Why is she holding a glass?”
“Because it is my party and I want her to enjoy herself” you look at her “she is old enough to marry then she is old enough to get drunk. Oh I want some food”
“It looks like our sister isn’t the only one who can’t take here alcohol” you hear the oldest say. You glare at him as you get very close to him
“I can hold my alcohol. I am just hungry” he nods
“Ok. Touch your nose” you roll your eyes at him, not playing his stupid little game. He leans slightly closer to you “I’m sorry, did you not hear me. I said touch your nose. Prove to me you are not drunk” you subconsciously press your legs together at his domineering voice, now you are glad you changed dresses as no one can see your legs. You lift your finger up and place it on the end of your nose with ease.
“See? And I can touch yours” you touch the end of his nose “and everyone else’s. The world is my oyster of nose touching” you laugh and link arms with him as you watch his sister down the drink you gave her, gagging afterwards. You wince for her “Yeah it’s a strong drink. Sorry my love. Oops sorry for calling you my love” you smile as you watch her recover from her drink, coughing into her hand.
A couple more hours pass and all the guests start to leave. The Bridgerton’s (apart from your two friends) are the last to go. “It has been wonderful to meet you all!” you smile at each of them as they all make their way to their carriages. You go over and kiss Daphne’s forehead “thank you for coming. Do write to me when you have the child as I’d love to see him” you smile and wave goodbye as they leave your now very empty house.
